Busted is back, ITV News' Faye Barker reports
Boyband Busted has announced a comeback tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
The British trio, comprised of Masked Singer winner Charlie Simpson and bandmates James Bourne and Matt Willis, have announced 15 tour dates across the UK to mark their 20th anniversary.
The Year 3000 band also announced a new single called Loser Kid 2.0 featuring Simple Plan which will be released in April.
American pop band Hanson, best known for their 1997 hit MMMBop, will join the trio on tour.
In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday morning, Bourne said: "A decade is a long time. Two decades is an even longer time."
The clip showed footage from the band's past music videos including Air Hostess, You Said No, and What I Go to School For.
"We were writing songs that made us laugh and the songs that made us laugh made other people laugh and feel good," Bourne said.
He added that they have that "special feeling - like it's Busted time".
Simpson, who later went on to front rock band Fightstar, said Busted "really broke the mould" when they started making music in 2000.
"It's about celebrating what Busted meant to the fans and it's about us being able to go out and share that experience with them," Simpson said.

Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’ . It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’ , ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’ , ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping WIth The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up, with some very special guests
The tour will see the original much-loved trio - James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - play their hits and fan-favourites this September. The first track to launch the 20 th anniversary celebrations will be a new version of Busted’s song ‘Loser Kid’ featuring Simple Plan, which will be released on 14 April. Loser Kid featured as the final track on their self-titled debut album and was co-written by Bourne, Simpson and Willis.
Busted’s many successes spread far beyond the singles charts. Three of their four studio albums also peaked at #2, with 4.5 million sales leading to eight Platinum certifications as well as a total of 25 weeks in the Top 10 and two 5x Platinum selling albums. They have won two BRIT Awards - Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough - while multiple sold-out arena tours have seen them sell more than 2 million tickets.
Busted’s 20th anniversary tour follows Charlie Simpson’s recent triumph as the winner of 2023’s ’The Masked Singer’, adding to his other projects which have included four solo albums and four albums with the rock band Fightstar. James Bourne is a renowned songwriter, with credits including McFly, The Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer and The Vamps, as well as his band Son of Dork and two recent solo albums ‘Safe Journey Home’ (2020) and ‘Sugar Beach’ (2022). After releasing his debut solo album, Matt Willis famously won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ leading to a successful television career as well as acting roles which have included the recent West End hit ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’.

Pop-punk band Busted have added six new dates to their upcoming UK tour due to huge demand, including an extra date in London .
The band have also added extra dates in Birmingham , Nottingham , Cardiff , Manchester , and Glasgow, after the original dates of their 15-date reunion tour sold out on Friday, March 31.
The trio, whose hits include Year 3000, Crashed The Wedding, and What I Go To School For, originally formed in 2003 before splitting in 2005. They later reformed for an arena tour in the UK and Ireland in 2016.
Now they’re releasing a new album to mark their 20th anniversary.
Members Charlie Simpson , Matt Willis , and James Bourne had appeared to be hinting earlier in March that something was afoot with a series of cryptic posts on social media.

“Busted is back!” they wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Adding: “A decade is a long time, two decades is an even longer time. We can’t wait to see you,” followed by the hashtag “Busted 20”.
Busted’s 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits Tour will kick off on September 2 in Plymouth and take in a date at the London O2 Arena on September 10.
The supporting acts will be Hanson and New Hope Club.
Busted will also release an album reimagining some of their biggest hits, which will see them team up with the likes of McFly and All Time Low.
The first offering is a new version of Loser Kid, which featured on Busted’s debut album. The track will receive its first radio play on April 14 and will feature pop-rock stars Simple Plan.

Busted, the British power pop group, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a Greatest Hits Tour around the UK.
The trio of James Bourne, Charlie Simpson, and Matt Willis were quite successful in Britain up until they split in 2005. Meanwhile in the US, they're probably best known for the song "Year 3000" which they originally released but then suggested in 2006 to the Jonas Brothers that they should cover it.
It was a rough time for the JoBros when Busted offered the song as they had been dropped by Columbia because their debut didn't live up to expectations. The Busted cover became the lead single of the brothers' self titled debut for Hollywood Records. It also became their first top 40 single.
Because the Jonas Brothers had a younger audience, they changed some of the references like instead of the original line about Michael Jackson, it was changed to Kelly Clarkson.
So for Busted's Greatest Hits album that was released this July, the JoBros redid the upbeat tune with Busted. Thankfully they kept the original lyrics.
Busted has already played a handful of dates on the Greatest Hits Tour. They have been kicking off the show with "Air Hostess" which went to #2 on the UK singles chart in 2004.
They've been playing an unreleased new song, "Good One." See fan footage of that track:
And Busted has also been covering two tunes. One is "Teenage Kicks" by the undertones.
And the other is "MMMBop," by Hanson, which is another song Busted reworked for the Greatest Hits album. The two groups got together, swapped leads, and the song was released earlier this summer.
Now that Hanson will be joining the tour, perhaps "Year 3000" won't be the last tune of the night. Maybe the Hanson trio will join the Busted trio and end the night with some "MMMbop 2.0"

Celebrating two decades in music, Busted 's Matt Willis , Charlie Simpson and James Bourne are back on the road together - taking their 20th Anniversary & Greatest Hits Tour to arenas across the UK and Ireland.
Truly offering A Present for Everyone (sorry), the boys have reworked a bunch of their biggest songs - from Year 3000 and Crashed the Wedding to fan favourites like Loser Kid and She Wants to Be Me - for their first shows as a group since 2019. Oh, and they're taking floppy-haired fellas Hanson , Henry Moodie and The Tyne on tour with them.
If you're going along to one of the boys' shows and want to know what to expect, you've come to the right place. Here's everything you need to know about Busted's reunion gigs; from setlist to stage times and support acts.

I spy myself in that picture! It was taken at Sao Paulo’s concert last year. Missing those frenetic tour days in Brazil.
Just a quick note : still waiting for my M&G moment, have been to several Hanson concerts and got none so far. 🥲
