Chicago And Earth, Wind & Fire Launch Heart & Soul 2024 North America Tour

Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire have announced the return of their renowned co-headlining tour across North America – Heart & Soul 2024 Tour. The Live Nation produced tour brings together the timeless music of Chicago and the iconic catalog of Earth, Wind & Fire for one unforgettable night of music filled with epic sets from each artist that will culminate in an encore performance with both bands on stage together. The 30-city tour kicks off on July 10 at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO making stops in Toronto, ON; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA and more before wrapping up in Palm Desert, CA at Acrisure Arena on September 7. With more than 200 million albums sold, 11 GRAMMY® wins and nearly 30 nominations between them, the tour will continue to provide unparalleled entertainment from two of America’s most legendary musical groups. Billboard hails that Chicago is one of “the most successful American rock band[s] of all time, in terms of both albums and singles” and “been able to fill arenas with satisfied fans” with music that has endured throughout time while Rolling Stone has described Earth, Wind & Fire as “a funk-fusion powerhouse that changed the sound and history of popular music.” In 2016 Chicago was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Earth, Wind & Fire was inducted into the Hall in 2000.

VIP Tickets will be available (no password required) beginning on Tuesday, November 14 at 10am local time. The Chicago Fan Club pre-sale will begin on Wednesday, November 15th at 10am local time. Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire Announce 2024 Tour Dates

Lionel Richie is hitting the road with Earth, Wind & Fire again this spring on a run of U.S. tour dates. They’ll start in Knoxville, Tennessee, in late May, wrapping up a few weeks later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. See all of the stops below.

After the tour wraps up, Richie returns to Las Vegas for a residency at the Wynn resort that extends through November 16. The singer-songwriter’s work co-writing the 1985 charity single “We Are the World” is spotlighted in a new documentary about the track, The Greatest Night in Pop , which hits Netflix on January 29.

Tonight, Lionel Richie brought his Sing Along All Night Long tour to a packed Bell Center!

The evening started with Funk-Jazz legends Earth, Wind & Fire , who brought the groovy feel-good vibes to get the crowd hyped. They had everyone dancing on their feet for classics Boogie Wonderland and of course September !

With the show running a little behind schedule, Lionel Richie made a show-stopping appearance onstage around 9.40pm. He kicked things into high gear with Hello , from the end of a long catwalk. From there, he played hit after hit, with a big production complete with massive screens and CO2 (who would’ve thought)! From the beautiful Easy Commodores cover, Endless Love and Say You, Say Me , that had the crowd swaying along, to his more upbeat hits like Dancing on the Ceiling , the American singer showed how it’s done, never letting his age stop him, as he pranced around the stage like a young man rather than a 74 years old! Tonight was a masterclass in showmanship, ending on a high note with the ultra-catchy All Night Long !

My husband and I went to the EW&F concert at the Rady Shell venue in San Diego, California last night and were beyond excited at the quality of the show. We are long time EW&F fans and have seen the band so many times we can’t count starting in the 80’s and continuing until the present. We went to an intimate show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas that was hard to beat but last nights show was beyond our expectations. Yes, the Band is aging…we all are. The heartbeat and the soul of the music that we have loved since we fell for the Band was not just present but grown exponentially into a full, boastful, sound of soul. We danced, we sang, we yelled and experienced this to the fullest. What a night and what a great sound! We fell in love again – filled to the brim with the days of our youth and settled totally with the ages of our soul. What a grand experience. Love you Earth, Wind & Fire. Attended concert in Chicago on August 5th! Both Lionel and EWF were amazing. So many songs, one in particular ” The Way of the World” sparked memories of me playing as a kid, in the 70’s on the SS of Chicago, I cried as I remembered my Dad and Grandma! Thank you Elements!

Wife and myself are EXCITED to see Earth Wind and Fire with Lionel Richie….we are excited to celebrate my wife Claudia’s 55th birthday at the concert.

This by far was the best concert I have ever been to. Earth, wind and fire has been around since I was little, and I grew up with them and their music. From the moment they came out on stage to the moment they did their last song, I did not sit down one time!! I sang every song dance to every song, and they are the ultimate elements. I would see them 1 million times over.

Canada's wildfire season begins

Wildfire season has arrived in full force in Canada, prompting evacuation orders and alerts in several towns in British Columbia and Alberta due to the danger of uncontrolled blazes.

Hazardous smoke from the fires has also triggered air quality alerts in Canada and the northern US. Satellite technology, including the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite and ESA's Fire Atlas, plays a crucial role in monitoring these wildfires .

The 2023 wildfire season in Canada was one of the worst on record. Over the course of the fire season that started early and ended later than usual, blazes burned an estimated 18.4 million hectares. The impact on the environment, especially air quality in both Canada and the U.S., was profound.

With the 2024 wildfire season already in full swing, Canadian authorities are bracing for a challenging summer.

Wildfire season in Canada typically runs from April until September or October when cooler temperatures dampen fire activity. The early onset of these wildfires, caused by unseasonably warm temperatures and dry conditions, has raised concerns about a potentially prolonged and severe fire season ahead.

According to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Agency, there are around 130 wildfires currently burning across Canada, mostly in British Columbia and Alberta.

Data from Copernicus Sentinel-5P reveals the extent of air pollution caused by these wildfires. Equipped with the Tropomi instrument, the satellite provides high-resolution data on air quality by measuring gases and aerosols, including air pollutants such as carbon monoxide , nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter.

Smoke from the fires can travel vast distances, degrading air quality far from the source of the flames.

ESA's World Fire Atlas, an essential tool in wildfire monitoring, utilizes data from the Copernicus Sentinel-3A satellite to detect and map active fires globally.

Working like a thermometer in the sky, the Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) on board Sentinel-3 measures thermal infrared radiation to take the temperature of Earth's land surfaces which is used to detect the fires.

The data, which is represented in "pixels" indicate that 258 fires have been detected in Canada in 2024 (data up to 13 May). In contrast, during the 2023 wildfire season, the Atlas detected 19,487 wildfires.

As the wildfire season progresses, ESA's World Fire Atlas continues to be a valuable resource in tracking new fire outbreaks.

BATH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at 200 Congress Ave. and concludes at Library Park and will be followed by a wreath-laying service at 11 a.m.

BERWICK 11 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at Berwick Town Hall/Sullivan Square and proceeds to Lord’s Cemetery by way of Wilson and Allen streets. After a ceremony there, the parade will continue down Saw Mill Hill Street with a pause at the Somersworth-Berwick Bridge for a brief memorial service for those lost at sea. The parade ends at Sullivan Square with a memorial service honoring area veterans.

BIDDEFORD-SACO Opening ceremony at 9:55 a.m. Monday at Saco City Hall. Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Saco City Hall and proceeds along Main Street and down York Hill into Biddeford, continues along Main Street, onto Alfred Street and finishes at Veteran’s Memorial Park with a closing ceremony at 10:45 a.m.

BRUNSWICK-TOPSHAM 9 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from Topsham Town Hall, pauses for observances while crossing the Brunswick-Topsham bridge, and concludes at the Brunswick Mall.

CAPE ELIZABETH 9 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at the middle school parking lot, turns right on Scott Dyer Road, right onto Route 77 and ends at the village green adjacent to the town hall. A brief ceremony and laying of the wreath will be held at the Village Green after the parade.

CUMBERLAND 8 a.m. Monday. Kids run at Greely High School followed by 5K Run and Remember race at 8:30 a.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. at Mabel I. Wilson School and ends at the veterans’ monument in Moss Side Cemetery in Cumberland Center, where a ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Advertisement

FALMOUTH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from 65 Depot Road (Falmouth American Legion) to Pine Grove Park, where a ceremony will be held.

FREEPORT 9:30 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from Holbrook Street, heads north on Main and makes a right onto School Street, then right onto Park Street, ending in Memorial Park. There will be a small ceremony in Memorial Park starting at 10 a.m.

GORHAM 11 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Village School (12 Robie St.) and ends at Eastern Cemetery on Johnson Road.

GRAY 11:30 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves the Russell School (8 Gray Park), proceeds to Shaker Road and continues to the Soldiers Monument at the intersection of Routes 26 and 3 for a wreath-laying ceremony. Parade continues north to the American Legion Post (15 Lewiston Road) for a closing ceremony.

LYMAN 1 p.m. Monday. Parade starts at Waterhouse Road/Mill Pond in Goodwins Mills and ends at the Lyman Town Hall on South Waterboro Road.

NEW GLOUCESTER 9 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves from Memorial Elementary School (86 Intervale Road) and heads down Intervale Road to Route 100/202 to Veterans Park for a memorial service. The parade will reconvene and go down Peacock Hill Road, then take a left on Gilmore Road. Advertisement

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1 p.m. Monday. Parade starts at the corner of Ballpark Way and E. Emerson Cumming Boulevard and proceeds down Saco Avenue, Old Orchard Beach Street to First Street and ends at Veteran’s Memorial Park.

PORTLAND 2 p.m. Monday. The procession starts at Longfellow School (432 Stevens Ave.) and ends at Evergreen Cemetery for a commemoration ceremony.

SANFORD 10 a.m. Monday. The parade starts at the Sanford Armory (88 William Oscar Emery Drive), proceeds up Gowen Park Drive and ends at Central Park.

SCARBOROUGH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Scarborough High School, turns onto Route 114 and then Route 1, past town offices to the Maine Veterans Home and concludes with a ceremony there.

SOUTH PORTLAND 10:30 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Southern Maine Community College parking lot, proceeds down Broadway to the Veterans Monument for a short Memorial Day recognition service.

WELLS 9 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Wells High School (200 Sanford Road) and proceeds to Ocean View Cemetery for a ceremony and musical performances. Advertisement

WESTBROOK 10 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds down Main Street and will be followed by a ceremony in Riverbank Park.

WINDHAM 9 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Windham Town Hall and proceeds onto Route 202 toward Windham High School. At 10 a.m., there will be a ceremony in front of Windham’s Veterans Memorial Flagpole at Windham High School.

YARMOUTH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves from Yarmouth High School (286 West Elm St.) and proceeds to the Memorial Green at Town Hall for a ceremony.

YORK 10 a.m. Monday. Parade starts near St. Christopher’s Church (4 Barrell Lane) and proceeds down York Street to York Town Hall.
