MILWAUKEE - The fourth annual Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off men's college hockey tournament returns to Fiserv Forum on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 28-29, featuring Wisconsin, UConn, Alaska and Ferris State. Single-day tickets, as well as discounted two-day tickets, will go on sale tomorrow, March 7, at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT at Ticketmaster.com. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, Dec. 28, with the championship and third-place games on Sunday, Dec. 29. Matchups and times will be announced at a later date. Currently ranked No. 5 in the nation, Wisconsin returns to the tournament to defend its 2023 Holiday Face-Off title. UW has three consecutive championship game appearances and won the inaugural tournament in 2021. The 2023-24 Badgers finished second in the Big Ten with a regular season record of 25-9-2, marking their first 25-win regular season since 2000. Wisconsin also has 26 NCAA Tournament appearances and six national championships on its resume. UConn is under the direction of 10th-year Head Coach Mike Cavanaugh. The Huskies wrap up their regular season tomorrow against Vermont before beginning Hockey East tournament play. Alaska is led by Head Coach Erik Largen, a former goaltender who was the youngest NCAA ice hockey head coach when he joined the program in 2018. The Nanooks currently have a 15-14-3 record heading into their final two games of the season. Ferris State, led by two-time Central Collegiate Hockey Association Coach of the Year Bob Daniels, has made four NCAA tournament appearances. Holiday Face-Off: Fiserv Forum to host Dec. 28-29

MILWAUKEE - The third annual Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off men’s college hockey tournament returns to Fiserv Forum on Dec. 28-29, 2023, featuring Wisconsin, Minnesota Duluth, Northeastern and Air Force. Tickets for the two-day event will go on sale at a later date at fiservforum.com.  

In the 2022 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off last week, Clarkson scored six unanswered goals in downing No. 15 UMass, 6-3, in the semifinals and then captured the title with a 3-1 win over Wisconsin. 

According to a press release, Wisconsin won the inaugural event in 2021 and advanced to the title game of the 2022 tournament last week. Head coach Tony Granato is in his seventh season at his alma mater and is a member of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame and a two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year honoree. The Badgers have a hockey history of 26 NCAA Tournament appearances and six National Championships.  

In 23 seasons behind the Minnesota Duluth bench, head coach Scott Sandelin has led the Bulldogs to over 430 wins and three National Championships, including back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019. In addition to their three National Championships, Minnesota Duluth has been to 15 NCAA Tournaments. 

Northeastern is under the direction of second-year head coach Jerry Keefe, who is the reigning Hockey East Coach of the Year for guiding the Huskies to a 25-13-1 mark, including 15-9-1 in league play in earning the program’s first-ever regular season title. Northeastern has been to the NCAA Tournament eight times. 

In 26 years with Air Force, Frank Serratore has led the Falcons to 432 wins, one of seven active coaches (along with Scott Sandelin) with over 400 career wins. He has also guided the Falcons to seven conference championships and seven NCAA Tournament appearances – the only NCAA trips in Academy history.

The Gazelle Group is pleased to announce that the inaugural Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off college hockey tournament will be held at Fiserv Forum, home of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. The field for the event, which will be played from December 28-29, 2021, consists of Wisconsin, Providence, Bowling Green, and Yale. Semifinal play will take place on Tuesday, December 28 with the Championship game and third-place game on Wednesday, December 29.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -  The schedule is set for the 2021 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off ( @HolidayFaceOff ). The inaugural Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off is highlighted by Wisconsin meeting Yale and Providence taking on Bowling Green in the semifinals at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday, December 28. The semifinal winners will meet for the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off title on Wednesday, December 29, preceded by the Third Place Game.

THE FIELD Wisconsin   (Head Coach: Tony Granato, Big Ten Conference) 2021 and 2017 Big Ten Coach of the Year and 2018 U.S. Olympic Team coach Tony Granato leads his alma mater in his sixth season as Wisconsin head coach … six-time national champions, the Badgers are the defending Big Ten regular-season champions entering the 2021-22 season … Cole Caufield, the 2021 Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner as the nation’s top player in 2021 led the nation in goals and points before helping the Montreal Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final … UW returns seniors Tarek Baker, Tyler Inamoto and Josh Ess for a fifth season and welcomes 10 newcomers including 2021 NHL Draft first-round pick Corson Ceulemans … the Badgers also return Big Ten All-Rookie Team goaltender Cameron Rowe, a 2021 Mike Richter Award nominee for the nation’s best goaltender Providence   (Head Coach: Nate Leaman, Hockey East) Nate Leaman finished his 10th season as head coach of the Friars in 2020-21, where he has guided the Friars to nine-consecutive winning seasons, 203 victories, two Frozen Four appearances (2015, 2019) and one national championship (2015). Providence will welcome back two of its three top scorers from last season – Parker Ford (7-12-19) and Patrick Moynihan (6-9-15). In goal, Jaxson Stauber started the final 23 games in 2020-21 – posting a 2.24 GAA and .916 save percentage with four shutouts in being named a Mike Richter Award finalist. Two-time captain Michael Callahan will return for his senior season, leading a defensive group that returns all six starters from a year ago. Bowling Green   (Head Coach: Ty Eigner, WCHA) Ty Eigner will embark on his third season at the helm of the Falcons in the 2021-22 season, taking over the role prior to the 2019-20 campaign after serving as an assistant on the staff for nine seasons. During the 2020-21 season, Bowling Green reached as high as No. 5 in the polls and has been able to tally at least 20 wins in each of the last seven seasons. The Falcons will compete in the newly reestablished CCHA this season with a slightly new look on the bench with the addition of Assistant Coach Stavros Paskaris, as well as having 11 new players join the program, consisting of eight freshman and three transfer. Yale   (Head Coach: Keith Allain, ECAC Hockey) The Bulldogs, who did not compete in 2020-21, last played in March of 2020, ending the season with an ECAC Hockey playoff series victory over Union at New Haven. Yale, the 2013 NCAA Champions, recently named senior blueliner Graham Lillibridge as its 2021-22 captain. The team from New Haven has a long history of playing holiday tournaments in the Cheese State. The last time the Bulldogs skated in Wisconsin, they beat Ferris State and then tied the Badgers 2-2 in the 2010 Badger Showdown Championship Game at Madison. Yale’s last appearance at Milwaukee was the 1998 Badger Showdown at the Bradley Center, where the Elis beat Wisconsin 4-2 and then fell to Bowling Green in the Championship contest.
