San Diego tours depart from two locations, Seaport Village or Embarcadero. Your land and sea adventure is led by one of our experienced sightseeing tour guides. Our captain and crew are locals who love this beautiful city, so they know about the best things to see and do!

View some of San Diego’s most famous points of interest including the Maritime Museum, Star of India, The U.S.S. Midway, Lindbergh Field, Seaport Village, Shelter Island and many other San Diego attractions!

Once on the water, the boat tour glides past resident San Diego seals and sea lions, a few California brown pelicans, and several other wildlife species from the safety and comfort of our amphibious vehicles.

There are 33 different species of seals? The largest of these is the elephant seal, weighing up to 8,800 pounds.

Sea Lion Tours

Sea lion tours operate all year round, before departure  .

We depart from Jurien Bay Boat Harbour. Our two vessels, Mojo and Sound Waves are parked at the floating pontoon, down from the information bay.

Tours generally depart at 7.00-7.30 am and 9.30-10 am from the Marina and return no later than 1.00 pm depending on which island we visit and the ocean conditions on the day.

The Marina offers plenty of parking for any size vehicle, and bathroom/change room facilities including a hot shower after your tour.

We ask all passengers to arrive 15 minutes before departure for wetsuit fittings and a safety talk before departure. Depending on which island we visit, the boat journey takes between 15 and 30 minutes one way.

Accessibility  

Our boats are wheelchair accessible, via the floating pontoons and side-entry doors. There is plenty of seating and space available for the elderly, mobility impaired and wheelchairs. Contact us for further details.

During the Tour  

During the boat trip we often see dolphins and bird life, and you will get time to meet and talk with other passengers or sit back and relax and save your energy.

Once at the island, we anchor the boat and wait for the sea lions to come out to play. We interact with the sea lions for a maximum of 45 minutes, or until they get bored of us. There are many great photo opportunities of both the sea lions and the abundant bird life.

While snorkellers are in the water, staff members can help with your needs. Other crew members will keep watch from the boat. All staff are qualified in Senior First Aid.

We try to mix up our tours and no two trips are the same.

Sea Lion Tours: Sound Waves  

Sound Wave is one of our 10-metre boats built by LeisureCat in 2018. It is equipped with high-quality wetsuits and snorkel gear. It is licensed to carry 12 passengers. At the time of booking, you can choose which boat you’d prefer, but this cannot be guaranteed. You will enjoy the same experience on either boat.

Sea Lion Tours: Mojo  

Mojo is one of our 10-metre boats built by LeisureCat in 2018. It is equipped with high-quality wetsuits and snorkel gear. It is licensed to carry 15 passengers. At the time of booking, you can choose which boat you’d prefer, but this cannot be guaranteed. You will enjoy the same experience on either boat.
