You were in the hummer 15 min of the 5 hour tour and the rest of the time you traveled in a tiny 4x4 with 7 other passengers. Also we weren’t offered the sand boarding which was supposed to be included and we arrived late to the dinner so the first part of the show was missed. Asad was called in the last minute to replace the other guy and made all possible to bring us in time to the activities . The company didn’t take any responsibility for the delay and we lost camel riding and sand surfing that we were suposed to do .So the driver Asad was great , the company less . At first I was a little nervous as a solo female traveler taking a desert tour on my own, but Clifton Tours put me at ease even before it started. My guide Hamza could not have been sweeter or more helpful! We had a great time chatting on the way to Al Madam and he provided me with interesting history about the site. Just make sure you have a shovel in the car or that your car has a "crawl" option. This is usually available in FJ's. The place is very peaceful. You can see a mosque, villas that are half covered in sand and an entry gate that looks like a frame. You can visit this place via 2 entrances. Where Google Map took us was an andveturous path. However, there is another way that does not require a lot of obstacle courses and this will lead you to that frame. Do not expect anybtpilet. I wrongly left it until we were outside to download the tickets only to fine the download button did not connect to the tickets! The staff at the wild wadi were awesome and rang the supplier for me to help get it sorted but if anything, we had to go to the back of the line while it got sorted. They had sent me a message earlier in the day saying "hi"! Who is going to respond to that? It was really like they were taking a chance with us not turning up and hadn't actually booked the tickets! Took us to a tourist shop and said u have 5min. And rushed us back to the car. Then took us to some external buggy ride park and sold us a buggy ride for 500aed. Which I was ok to pay for as an add on. That what he explained it was. Then, I saw him taking cash commission from guy at the counter. Then when we got to the camp/majlis, we got told we already had a buggy ride now we dont get to have the quad bikes. At this point I got really annoyed and put my foot down and said we have paid for the tour separately so why are u taking that out of the tour. He finally agreed to give us 2 quads for group of 6 for 20mins. When we got sold a package for 30mins. We did NOT explore the desert, far from, it was pitch black dark by the time we got on 2 quad bikes. Quad biking was going round and round in circles for 30mins. Never experienced such a lame quad biking experience. I felt like a 5 year old. Absolute rubbish and a rip off. And as he picked us up 2 hours late. We missed half the entertainment whilst we were quad biking. We had 10mins for a starter which was a small wrap and a small dry falafel. Then we saw 1 show for like 5-10min. When we went out for camel ride it was like 30 seconds. Camels got up and went up and back down approx 10m d sat down again. The driver even made us swop cars saying there is an licensing issue he cant take his car further. Then some how managed to get his car to drive us back. The same car which apparently wasnt allowed in the area miraculously turned up at the majlis. 🤔 The mans name was Hamza. And he was very cunning. Felt ripped off by this tour. Had an issue with the tickets which we bought on their own website in advance to save on the large queues. That was a disaster. Wasted 30 minutes trying to get the tickets we paid and had been debited for. We hired a cabana for the day at a cost of approximately £250 as there were 8 of us. It does provide you with a private transfer to your cabana which was very good and a cabana gives you a private area , some much needed shade cold, water and a locker for your valuables as well as sun loungers, chairs & towels. However the whole experience is ruined because the entire site is covered in bird excrement. Furthermore the place is over run with aggressive birds that steal everything and crap on your things in the process. Its totally unacceptable and its a real problem and it has to be a health hazard. We had to pay extra for not doing part of the tour because we were then classed as having a private car/tour (since we didn’t want to do this activity). We got to camp before everyone else and we were really disappointed. The camp had two tat stalls, a stage, some seating, a bbq area, cage with 3 deer at the back, 3 camels at the front, one falcon, some snow boards and quad bikes. We asked to have our camel ride - there were three camels and the man walked round in a circle with my husband and daughter and that was it. The 3 deer were kept out in the back area (which was covered in chicken and pigeon poo). The bbq area was covered in cat and camel poo (we saw a stray cat while we were there over at the bbq area) - Needless to say we did not want to eat there after seeing this. We asked to leave - it was not what we were expecting. The tour guide then demanded that we had to pay before he would take us back. We were afraid that he would leave us in the desert so my husband paid (despite us only having held a falcon and had a 1 minute camel ride). It was £300! Complete waste of money - don’t go!
