• Departure from the port from Margellina at the agreed time.
• Navigation towards the Sorrento Peninsula, it takes about 45 minutes.
• Arrival to the coast of Sorrento and visit to the Baths of Queen Giovanna, the Villa di Pollio Felice, the Marciano waterfall, the bay of Mitigliano and Punta Campanella.
• Stop in Sorrento to visit the historical centre with its monuments.
• During the day there will be various possibilities to swim and snorkel.
• At the end of the day return to Naples and limoncello time.

The coast of Sorrento extends from the town of Vico Equense to Punta Campanella, cusp of the Sorrento Peninsula. During this private tour we will sail along part of the Sorrento coast and in particular we will pass through Marciano, a panoramic hamlet in the municipality of Massa Lubrense where we can admire an ancient natural waterfall that once supplied the area with fresh water. Past the bay of Mitigliano we will arrive at Punta Campanella where in ancient times a temple was built in honour of the goddess Minerva. Along the Sorrento coast, stand out for their grandeur and the ancient watchtowers built centuries ago to sight and defend the coast from pirate invasions.

During our sunset tour we will sail along the coast of sorrento visiting a magical place overlooking Capri: Marciano. A small village in the municipality of Massa Lubrense, Marciano enjoys a unique position, it is in fact one of the closest points of the mainland to the island of Capri and consequently has a wonderful view. Beyond the spectacular view Marciano also enjoys a beautiful coastline, and among the cliffs overlooking the sea of the coast we will discover an ancient freshwater waterfall once used to supply drinking water to the boats that passed through the area. Not far from Marciano, in the same municipality of Massa Lubrense, is Marina della Lobra. This ancient fishing village owes its name to the Madonna della Lobra venerated in the village. Tradition has it that on the 15th of August, the Christian feast of Our Lady of the Assumption, the effigy depicting Our Lady of the Lobra is brought into the sea by local sailors and fishermen as a sign of devotion along the coast. Marina della Lobra is also the closest port to the island of Capri and as such is of particular importance for the traffic with the Blue Island.

The Villa Pollio Felice was an imposing mansion of the Roman era. Dating back to approximately the first century B.C., its remains are located in the south-western part of the city of Sorrento, surrounding the Baths of Queen Giovanna, an attraction visited by thousands of tourists for its natural beauty, which was chosen by Queen Giovanna II of Naples for her private baths in the fifteenth century. But, long before the queen, the Romans already admired the beauty of the place, so it was that the Roman Patrician Pollio Felice, originally from the city of Pozzuoli, not far from the place, decided to build this imposing structure, divided into a terraced sector towards the sea, with numerous windows, and another, towards the mainland, possibly with a large hall at the entrance. It is believed that the total area of the villa, occupied more than 30,000 mts2, including the vineyards outside. On the side of the entrance of the house, what would be the queen’s baths of 1400 years later.

The villa Pollio Felice, accompanied the times of greats such as Orazio or Pliny the Younger, and is part of a chain of numerous other villas around the coast whose remains were found and their stories reconstructed. It is believed that the real villa of the Patrician Pollio Felice would have been built near the beach of Puolo (the name of the place could derives from “Pollio”), which is a settlement a few km away from the place. But this information cannot be known exactly due to the lack of evidence.

Sorrento is a town of about 17 thousand inhabitants that gives the neme to the Sorrento Peninsula. The town was already inhabited 5 centuries before the birth of Christ and today is an international destination for tourists who appreciate the unique views overlooking the sea, the historic center with its ancient shops and historical monuments. The 2 ports of Sorrento, Marina Grande and Marina Piccola can be reached in a few minutes and feet from the historic center. The port of Marina Grande in particular is the ancient mooring point for fishermen and the small village built around the local church is worth a visit. In 5 minutes walk you can reach the historic center of Sorrento with the famous hotels that hosted celebrities from all over the world. In the historical centre thousands of tourists flock to visit the historical shops of local art such as the limoncello factories. The most famous historical monuments of the city are the Cathedral dedicated to Saints Philip and James and the Basilica of Sant Antonino, both churches are located within the historic center.

In case of cancellation of the tour within 24 hours from the start time of the activity we will refund the full amount paid at the time of booking. If the cancellation request is made less than 24 hours before the start time of the tour, no refund will be issued. The length of time available to explore Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi may vary according to traffic conditions. Pick-up in Naples will be arranged for major hotels, the train station, or other locations in the city center. We will contact you after booking to let you know the exact time and place of pick up based on where you are staying or arriving in Naples. This is the only tour that departs from Naples for Positano! For our day trip to Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi, we recommend comfortable clothing and shoes, a hat, and sun screen.

The pick-up is guaranteed from established meeting points in the different cities of departure. Before the departure date you will receive a message including meeting point details. Pickup begins about an hour and half before the departure time listed in the booking. Kindly arrive at least 10 minutes in advance at the pick-up location. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, sunscreen and a sun hat. During the same day, so the Blue Grotto may be closed and then reopened or vice versa. Therefore, we can never guarantee with certainty the access to the cave.
