Fast Travel is a teleportation system accessible from prominent interactive Hyperion or Dahl New-U Stations . The devices seem to use the same concept as digistructing; deconstructing the traveler and reconstructing them at their destination.

Background [ ]

Certain prominent New-U Stations scattered around Pandora have Fast Travel capability. Each Fast Travel terminal is connected to all other Fast Travel terminals in a planet-wide network. By accessing any one of them, a character can be instantaneously transported to any of the other terminals that they have previously visited. Users require a Fast Travel Pass in order to utilize Fast Travel capabilities.

At the time of the Borderlands Vault Hunters ' arrival on Pandora, the Fast Travel network is shut down thanks to the machinations of the bandit lord Mad Mel . In order to activate it, a power station must be recaptured and restarted during the mission Powering The Fast Travel Network in the Dahl Headlands , upon which Lucky Zaford provides the needed Fast Travel Pass. From here, right through to the rise of Handsome Jack and beyond, any Fast Travel terminal can be activated for instant transport to new locations.

In addition to Hyperion's manufacturing of New-U and Fast Travel Stations, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel shows that at some point in the past, Dahl also mass-produced the same technology and distributed them across Elpis for their use. Hyperion is able to tap into and manipulate Elpis' network, as shown by the ability to travel from a Dahl Fast Travel terminal on Elpis to a Hyperion Fast Travel terminal on Helios . Dahl-manufactured Fast Travel networks were used to also transport cargo via digistruction, which inadvertently populated Sub-Level 13 with ghosts.

Fast Travel Access [ ]

To access the Fast Travel Network, players must move within activation range of the terminal and use the action key. Using the action key a second time while in the menu will initiate travel to the chosen location.

In Borderlands , the menu that appears has two tabs: the menu with the rabbit icon denotes the Fast Travel menu; the menu with the character card icon denotes the Character Customization menu. As players explore Pandora , more locations get added to the Fast Travel Network list, and each one can be accessed by scrolling through the location listing to find the desired one.

In Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3, only the Fast Travel menu itself is available on a Fast Travel terminal due to character customization being available at Quick Change stations. As players explore Pandora, Elpis and the Universe, more locations are added to each game's Fast Travel list and players can travel to any available one.

Travel occurs instantly in single player, or after a two second countdown in Borderlands multiplayer, which is extended to a five second countdown in Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3 . However, travel cannot be initiated if any players are Crippled into Fight For Your Life, are in another Fast Travel or Catch-A-Ride menu, are in their inventory, or have triggered a game save.

The Fast Travel Network is a valuable part of the series, allowing players to quickly change zones to search for more loot, battle different enemies and bosses or complete or gather new missions.

Downloadable Content Access [ ]

Upon installing any add-on content pack in Borderlands , Borderlands 2 , or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel , previously non-existent locations are added to each respective game's fast travel list.

In Borderlands , downloadable content areas can be accessed at any time after the completion of the mission Skags At The Gate , regardless of whether or not the Fast Travel Network has been activated by completing the mission Powering The Fast Travel Network . Downloadable content areas for Borderlands feature multiple locations to explore, but only the very first location visited in each downloadable content pack is available for Fast Travel.

In Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel , downloadable content locations can be accessed at any time at any Fast Travel enabled Hyperion or Dahl New-U Station. Unlike Borderlands , Fast Travel is available to most (if not all) locations of each downloadable content pack.

Exit Only Fast Travel Stations [ ]

Some Fast Travel stations in Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and Borderlands 3 are classified as "exit only" Fast Travel stations. They offer a normal menu of destinations, but are not listed on the menus of other stations themselves. This allows one-way travel away from the exit-only Fast Travel, and is generally used to offer an exit point at the end of a story mission. An exit only Fast Travel terminal can be identified by its yellow holographic projections featuring a "no u-turn" symbol only in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and without a "no u-turn" symbol and only a no entry symbol in Borderlands 3 . A regular Fast Travel terminal features blue holographic projections.

Hayter’s Folly

Message in a Bottle 3 XP: 789 Money: $2,696 Gear: Assault Rifle

To reach this bottle, you will need to first take out Sandman inside Hayter’s Folly. Once you have, you can then continue through, following the water to the waterfall in the Aquanexus. Once you reach the drop off where the lift is on the right side, Drop down on the right side of the falls to find the bottle there. Once you have it, talk the lift back up and return to Sandman’s Hotspring Hideout. On the left side, below the water falls, there will be a bottle under a rock. Smash it and the rock will give way revealing a cave. At the far wall will be the X on the ground. Dig there and get your booty!

Just Desserts for Desert Deserters XP: 15780 Money: $674 Gear: Shotgun

Pick this up from the Wurmwater job board at the start of Chapter 4 and Scarlett will want you to kill Benny the Booster. Make your way south in Oasis to the Deserter Camp marked by the way point and then continue through the settlement via the upper level until you run into Benny. Take him down once you do, and then you will need to kill the Deckhand. The Deckhand can be found in Hayter’s Folly, so make your way there through the Coastal Caverns. Head to Sandman’s Overlook by taking the lift in the central part of the cave and clear out the enemies until the Deckhand shows up.

Once he does, kill him and you will then be off to find Toothless Terry. Once you reach Wurmwater go east to the Rustyard Corridor and then enter the Rustyards at the far rear. Enter the Rusty Cog Settlement at the far end and take the upper level to the container that you can cross. Continue forward through the next set of buildings and Terry will be at the far end. Kill him and then head to the right of the area for the next side mission.

Message in a Bottle 4 XP: 789 Money: $2,696 Gear: Relic

Go to the right of where you found Toothless Terry and you will come to Coobie Gorge. Follow the path to the end and there will be a metal gate that will open as some Anchormen come through. Once inside go to the shelter in the far right corner and there will be a doll inside to squeeze. To find the bottle, look behind the shelter and crawl your way behind it to get the bottle there. Once you have it, go to the far south end and cross the long bridge. Enter the Dreg Scrapyard and go to the right where there will be some stairs. Look under the stairs to find the X there and dig up the goods.

Catch a Ride, and also Tetnus XP: 3945 Money: $2,696 Gear: None

For this mission, you will need to return to the Rustyard and pick up 5 different items for Scooter. None of the items are difficult to find, it’s just more annoying than anything that you need to go all the way through the entire Rustyard area to get them all. Follow the map waypoint markers from one to the next and each will be right out in the open, easy to find. Once you have them all, return to the job board to turn the mission in.

Faster than the Speed of Love XP: 3945 Money: $1,348 Gear: None

Once you have the compass pieces, this mission will become available on the job board. Once you accept it, hop in your skiff and drive to the first waypoint. You will need to hit 6 of them with a minute and a half and it can get a little tight if you don’t use your boost when it’s available. Other than that, it is a pretty straight forward time trial race. Ignore the enemies and just go for the markers and you’ll complete it easily. Return to the job board and talk to Scoo…er…Natalie to complete the mission.

Washburne Refinery

I know it when I see it XP: 3945 Money: $1,348 Gear: None

Once inside the refinery, find C3n50r807 (Censorbot) by following the yellow exclamation mark. Once you talk to him, he will ask you to find a robot called P3RV-E. Make your way through the plant to the Lair of the Lecher-bot and you will find it roaming around there. Take the mini-bot out and once down, you will need to collect the 5 stacks of porno mags that are scattered around the area. Grab them and then head back to the Censorbot to turn in the quest.

Don’t Copy That Floppy XP: 7890 Money: $674 Gear: Sniper Rifle

Once again, for this mission you will need to roam around and collect 5 different items—in this case floppy discs—from the pirates in Wurmwater. Make your way there via fast travel and then drive down to the Washburne Fen. Once there, follow the path through the settlement to the large open area with Sand Worms. Go to the far north corner and climb the ladder there to get on the walkway and continue towards the map marker until you reach The Dish. Once there, just kill the pirates as they appear and they will eventually start to drop the floppy discs. Grab 5 and then return to the Censorbot to turn in the quest.

Freedom of Speech XP: 7890 Money: $0 Gear: Grenade/ Rocket Launcher

Once you have all the compass pieces, you can return to the Censorbot and he will tell you that a DJ is planning to play and he want you to kill him. Make your way to Magnys Lighthouse and go all the way to the rear of the area to AM-FM isle. Kill DJ Tanner when he runs out to fight you and then you will need to climb up his shack to find his equipment. Give it a punch when you reach it and then hike aaaaaaall the way back to the fast travel station to return to Censorbot to turn in the quest.

Magnys Lighthouse

Message in a Bottle 5 XP: 789 Money: $2,696 Gear: Grenade

When you reach the Spire Town Dock, make your way north and then to the west. Circle around to the east and then climb down the long ladder when you reach it just before the yellow exclamation mark on the map. Look for the bottle to the right of the vehicle buried there. Once you have it, continue to the top of the Magnys Lighthouse. Once you reach the top of it, hop on the ledge and then take a peek down towards the south side. On top of a grassy hill there, you will see the X there. Jump down and land on it to finally be able to reach it.

Captain's Scarlett and Her Pirates Booty

A Warm Welcome - You get a quest to come into the Town of Oasis, and you will have fight off the bandits here. Including the boss pirate No-Beard. After, go visit Shade in his hut to complete the quest.

My Life For A Sandskiff - Shade will have you go and get into the vehicle for the level. It will blow up, forcing you to go and talk to the “citizens” of the town. Nothing major to note on this quest other than to run around to each person. Doing whatever it takes to "talk" to them and get each part needed for the Sanskiff vehicle. Once all done take the parts and fire up the vehicle!

A Study in Scarlett - Obtain the hovercraft, then craft it at the station. Then we are on to find the pirate queen's ship! Get there with your new vehicle and destroy some skiffs to then be able to board the ship. Go up for a quick scene where you'll meet Scarlet and complete the quest.

Two Easy Pieces - Objective is to Kill Sandman. Go into the area specified for this and kill the Sandman with his lackey. Then you will get another objective to go raid the Hyperion convoy. After you do both of these, you'll be able to get the next main quest.

The Hermit - Now we get on to the creepier part of the quests. Pick up Herbert's Gift from the ship area and jump in that skiff again. Then head to the new area required by the quest. Go through the whole area and give it to Herbert at the end to complete this quick chapter. Kill Terry along the way too because I said so!

Crazy About You – Collect Herbert's tapes, you'll listen to them along the way and find out how much Herbet really loves Scarlett. Once you go to the spot for tape, it will blow up and you'll have to collect the different tapes. Once you get all the tapes and bring it back to Herbet, you'll be on to the next chapter. Easy peasy. Whoops looks like we broke the compass though!

After attempting to open the chest and breaking the piece, Herbert will have you enter the new place of " Washburne Refinery " to get the pieces for a new compass part. You'll have to get 4 pieces of ore from the refinery and bring them back to Herbet. He will repair the piece, and then Scarlett will let you know she has a gift for Herbert as well. Leave Herbert with Scarlett's gift if you want to see some fireworks in the night sky. Finally head back to Scarlett via the nearby fast travel.

Let There Be Light - Starts after you bring the pieces of "map" back to Scarlet. You'll assemble the 4 pieces and then be given the task to go to Magny's Lighthouse . After you fight your way through the area and take the lift up twice, insert the piece and complete the quest.

X Marks the Spot - After you get the lighthouse backstabbing and betrayal head back into Wurmwater . Once you get to the spot for the quest, surprise, you'll be swallowed up. Go through and fight the big bad beasty "Rosco the Puppy". Pretty easy fight by this point, watch for the trampling if you are playing on a higher difficulty. Not much else to do here. You'll then get to the final boss to fight. Shoot the big blue spots on here to kill him! They will be on his hands or they will show under his neck, sometimes his chest as well. There will also be adds that spawn here too, blast them away. Once the final boss is dead, cross over his fallen arm to get to the treasure room. And finish the main DLC story quests!

- Hyperius the Invincible Availability: Oasis Bounty Board Objectives: Defeat Hyperius the Invincible Extra hints and tips: Hyperius will summon 4 minions that will give him a shield which will protect him from pretty much everything. All of his minions will fire rockets that are very easy to dodge at mid to long-range. Once you destroy a loader it will start to repair itself and can no longer protect Hyperius. Once all 4 are in this state, Hyperius can be dealt damage again. Once his shield is down however he does a twin AOE ground punch. The first will deplete your shields (and his) completely, the second will do a ton of damage. After enough damage has been dealt, this becomes a triple ground pound. YOU CAN CANCEL THE GROUND POUND IF YOU DO ENOUGH DAMAGE TO HIM DURING ITS WIND UP, you can also dodge it by being far enough away. Hyperius will grow in size and start to use melee moves. This fight doesn't have to be hard, grab a friend, keep your distance, and be patient. Unlocks: Master Gee the Invincible Hand in: Shade

- Master Gee the Invincible Availability: Oasis Bounty Board Objectives: Defeat Master Gee the Invincable Extra hints and tips: This fight has a special mechanic where you need to take Master Gee to the pools of acid that spawn after you kill a worm. The basic idea is as soon as you kill a worm, make sure to kite him over to the pool. Rinse and repeat, and eventually, this should be yours. A character with high health regen and shield regens will also be ideal for this. Unlocks: N/A, probably the last achievement Hand in: Shade

The areas to call out here is one you won't be able to find until you do the last two "Invincible" fights which are named locations of themselves. After we completed those, there was only one area we didn't have, which was just to the right of the main pirate area as you spawn. Simply run out and discover this area. Should you end up missing any of these areas, consult your maps for any greyed out areas. The maps should be completely filled in by the time you are done here!
