How Can I Find Cheap Cruises Out of Boston in 2024?

The easiest way to find a cheap cruise from Boston is to sort your results by price. When searching for Boston cruises, prices already include any discounts, which means that you will see cheaper options even if they are normally more expensive. This is a great way to find a cruise that would normally be outside your budget. It's a good idea to be flexible on your 2024 departure date to find the best deals, as cruise lines out of Boston will tend to offer the best deals on staterooms at times when they have difficulty filling the ship.

Which Cruise Lines Operate Out of Boston?

Cruises out of Boston in 2024 are operated by a variety of lines including Norwegian , Holland America , Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean. This gives plenty of choices for your cruise vacation. You will find options here for couples, families, groups, etc. The cruise ships from Boston tend to be large ship cruises with lots of activities that are absolutely great for families with children.

How Can I Find Good Cruise Deals out of Boston?

To find great cruise deals from Boston look for our green box that features specific cruise deals and cruise discounts for each trip when available. These results will appear at the top when you sort by price. Make sure to take into account what perks and amenities are included. Sometimes it can be worth paying a bit extra for a cruise that, say, includes wi-fi and/or a drinks package, depending on what you are likely to use. Boston is a great departure point for certain Caribbean cruises and one of the best for getting a reasonably priced cruise up through New England and Nova Scotia. Choosing a cruise from Boston to Canada will reduce your at-sea time and thus costs too.

What Should I Look Out For When Booking a Cruise from Boston 2024?

First of all, make sure that the itinerary is what you are looking for. Also, make sure that your chosen Boston cruise ship has the amenities you crave. Also, consider the time of year; cruises that take place during breaks from school are more likely to have families with children. Being flexible on departure dates for your 2024 cruise leaving from Boston can help you get the best deal and have a better chance of booking the stateroom you want on the deck you want. Canada and New England cruises in the fall as well as the North Atlantic-focused transatlantic cruises can result in chilly temperatures out on the deck, so consider your temperature tolerance (and, of course, pack accordingly).

Where Are the Best Places to Go On Cruises Leaving From Boston in 2024?

The two most popular destinations out of Boston are Canada/New England and Bermuda. It is also the US departure/arrival port for some of the transatlantic cruises offered by Holland America. You can get a regular Caribbean cruise as well. These are all great destinations, depending on your tastes. If you want to spend several days in one place, the cruises from Boston to Bermuda are a great option as they tend to sail out and then moor to give you time to explore the island and a bit more freedom than many cruises offer. If you want to see some truly spectacular scenery and interesting wildlife, consider a Canada/New England cruise or, if you have the budget, a transatlantic cruise that explores Greenland and Iceland. These destinations can, of course, be cold even in summer, but it's worth it!

What Are Some Good All-Inclusive Boston Cruises?

Most of the cruise ships leaving from Boston are not truly all-inclusive, although they do include main dining, youth programs, onboard entertainment and basic drinks. This varies by line, so do check. To get an all-inclusive cruise from Boston you will need to select an offer that includes it. You should weigh how much you will use the amenities before purchasing a package. For example, most people these days need wi-fi, but a shore excursion package is only worth it if you know you are going to use it.

What Are Some Great Family Cruises From Boston?

Almost all of the cruise ships out of Boston,, include youth programs in the price of the ticket for 3 to 17-year-olds. What's offered varies, of course, by line and ship, but family cruises from Boston are easy to find. Bermuda cruises from Boston are great for families as you can spend time doing whatever you want on the island and not have to worry, for at least part of the time, about your ship sailing without you because the kids held you up. (Note, this is why it's usually best to take an official shore excursion because then the ship will wait for you). Your kids might, of course, have an opinion on the destination, but New England/Canada cruises tend to attract an older crowd, and there might be fewer other kids for them to hang out with.

What Are Some Good Adults-Only Cruises From Boston?

As the Boston cruise lines use mostly large ships, there are usually no specific adults-only cruises. All of the cruises have youth programs, which can help keep adults and kids separated. Your best bet to avoid a lot of families is to choose dates when kids are in school. The four-night Bermuda Cruise on the Norwegian Pearl is a great choice for a short romantic getaway. Check amenities to find the best cruise ships out of Boston for your particular trip.

What Are Some Good Singles Cruises From Boston?

Cruise lines mostly use large ships, and therefore do not usually have specific singles cruises out of Boston. However, it's worth considering a Norwegian cruise from Boston as they have great deals for solo travelers. Their ships have staterooms designed for solo travelers (so you are not paying for two people) and a Studio Lounge to meet other single cruisers.

Are There Any Christmas Cruises from Boston?

Because it is so far north, Boston has few to no sailings between November and April, so there are no Christmas cruises. Boston itself is, of course, a great place to experience a white Christmas.

What Are Some Great Gay Cruises out of Boston?

There are no specific gay cruises leaving from Boston. However, all four of the cruise lines that operate are considered very friendly to gay and lesbian travelers, especially Celebrity.

How do I Book a Cruise from Boston in 2024 on Expedia?

Simply browse our pre-selected Boston Cruise deals or set Boston as your departure destination. You can also narrow down your search by selecting an arrival destination and departure dates, as well as filtering by cruise line and ship. Too tight a search may give you no results, so if you do, then widen your parameters to find the best cruises out of Boston. You can also search by duration, helping you find good two-night cruises from Boston, or 7-day cruises from Boston, depending on how much time you have to spend. Weekend cruises out of Boston are a great break.

How can I find last-minute cruise deals from Boston?

Cruise lines operating out of Boston often have cabins they want to fill at the last minute. Enter your departure date and set Boston as the departure port. Available deals will be marked with a green box. You can sort by departure date to find the closest sailing to your time. A last-minute deal, if you are flexible, can give you a great discount on the cruise.

Do I need a passport to cruise from Boston?

This depends on the destination and where your cruise ends. A closed-loop cruise is one that starts and ends in the same US port, and the itinerary must consist of contiguous territories of the US, meaning that they share a land or direct sea border. If you are taking a closed-loop cruise, you do not need a passport. This includes all Canada/New England sailings, sailings to Bermuda, and most Caribbean itineraries. For transatlantic cruises, you will need a passport. Also, anyone who is not a US citizen will need a passport to take these cruises.

Can I Cancel My Cruise Booking?

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, you can do so from your My trips page or by contacting customer service. Bear in mind that cruise lines have different cancellation policies, which will determine how much of a refund you get.

Why should I book a Cruise From Boston with Expedia?

Booking through Expedia is convenient and gives you access to search tools that can help you find the right ship and destination for your Boston cruises 2024 vacation. You can also become an Expedia Rewards member and get points for future travel.

Boston Cruise Guide

Boston is a city that’s full of history, being one of the oldest municipalities in the United States. Therefore, there’s an abundance of ancient artifacts, museums, and galleries to explore. But aside from being a history buff’s paradise, it’s also a bustling city with plenty of boutiques, bars, and a rich food scene.

The Flynn Cruiseport Boston is a popular starting point for Canada / New England itineraries, as well as tropical getaways to Bermuda and the Caribbean. The port welcomes ships from Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Seabourn Cruise Line, and Celebrity Cruises.

Not too far from the cruise port, you’ll find plenty of attractions. Boston has been nicknamed “America’s Walking City,” as it is one of the most pedestrian-friendly states, making it easy to explore. The Freedom Trail is a walking route that passes by Boston’s 16 most important historic sites that shaped the American Revolution in the 1770s. You can explore on your own or with an entertaining 18th-century-themed guided tour. Another popular attraction is the Boston Duck Tours, where unique WWII-style duck boats take you to major attractions both on land and at sea along the Charles River. There’s also an aquarium, a Children’s Museum, a variety of Art Museums, and the interactive Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.

In regards to food, Boston’s signature dish is clam chowder, which was introduced to New England in the 18th century. Other must-tries are Boston Baked Beans, Lobster Rolls, Oysters, Cannoli’s, and the beloved Boston Cream Pie. Don’t forget to stop by a brewery, or take a walk along Newbury Street for all of your shopping needs, with dozens of unique boutiques and designer stores.

Freedom trail.

For those who want to learn more about American history while in Boston, you can’t miss a walk along the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is easy to spot, as it’s a 2.5-mile walk through the city of Boston that is marked by a red line. Top sites along the trail include Boston Common, Bunker Hill Monument, Old North Church, Massachusetts State Park, Old South Meeting House, the Paul Revere House, and many more. Along the way you’ll learn how these sites had significance to the American Revolution and which ones were frequented by former U.S. Presidents and political influencers.

Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill is a historic and affluent area of Boston that is home to beautiful Victorian brick homes covered in ivy and adorned with picturesque flower boxes. At night, the area comes alive with people descending onto the neighborhood to walk down its cobblestone streets and eat at one of the prestigious restaurants located in the neighborhood. The Massachusetts State House is also located in Beacon Hill.

The North End is the oldest residential neighborhood in Boston and is also the city’s “Little Italy” neighborhood, as it’s home to a variety of Italian restaurants and delis. For dessert, Mike’s Pastry is famous for its Italian cannoli; you’ll often have to wait in a line out the door to try it, but most people will tell you it’s worth the wait. The North End is where many of the most popular sites along the Freedom Trail are located, including Paul Revere’s House, which is also the oldest building in downtown Boston.

Boston Common

The Boston Common is located at one end of the Freedom Trail and is where many visitors start the walk due to its scenic location. Boston Common covers 50 acres and is the oldest park in Boston. It’s a great place to walk around and see the ponds that are home to ducks and swans, and the many monuments located on its premises. From a historical standpoint, Boston Common is important because it played a part in the American Revolution as it was where British Troops gathered for a time and served as a campground and artillery base.

Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory Tours

The Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory is located on the 50th floor of the building and provides 360-degree views of Boston. It’s the highest observation deck in Boston that’s open to the public and you can also rent an audio tour headset to learn more about the main parts of the city you can see from the Skywalk Observatory.

Fenway Park

Fenway Park is probably Boston’s most cherished landmark for sports fans, and is a must-see for most visitors to Boston. It’s a stadium where the Boston Red Sox play and is the oldest ballpark for Major League Baseball. Even if you’re not a huge baseball fan, you can still appreciate the design, which has a uniquely shaped field and a massive wall alongside left field dubbed the Green Monster.

Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary

The underwater plateau that makes up Stellwagen Bank is rich in nutrients, making it a prime place for migrating whales to stop and feed. That also makes it the place to head for visitors to Boston who want to do some whale watching off the coast. During the summer months, you have the chance to see humpback whales making their way through the area. You also might see one of the 100+ other animals that call the 842-square-mile area of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary home.

What’s the culture and history of Boston?

Boston is an important part of the history of the United States of America. The city was originally founded in the first half of the 17th century by Puritans who immigrated to the New World from England.

Over the next century and a half, it would grow in size as more people moved there from overseas and other British colonies. During that time, it would also become a hotbed for strife between the colonies and England, with the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre becoming defining moments in the conflict between patriots and loyalists that led to the American Revolutionary War.

Today, Boston is defined by its museums and sites showcasing this history as well as the high caliber universities that result in many new grads putting down roots in Boston. Residents are known for their Irish and Italian heritage, devotion to the city’s sports team, and thick Boston accents.

Where can I go shopping near the Boston cruise port?

Boston has no shortage of places to shop, whether you’re looking for crafts, kitschy souvenirs, or national chains. For all three, visit Faneuil Hall Marketplace, home to the aforementioned Quincy Market and plenty of shops. For department stores and traditional malls, Boston’s Back Bay is the place to go, with indoor malls found at Prudential Center and the Copley Place Mall.

How can I get around Boston?

Boston’s subway system is referred to as the “T” and has an extensive route system that consists of an underground metro and buses that operate along cables. The routes operated by the T go all over the city center into Cambridge and other suburbs of Boston. A water shuttle or water taxi can easily take you from the cruise terminal to Boston’s points of interest along the harbor, such as Faneuil Marketplace, Bunker Hill, the USS Constitution, or the North End. Taxi stands are located throughout the city, although you may have to wait for a bit depending on the time of day and location.

What are the local currency and tipping customs?

The currency used in Boston is the U.S. Dollar, and you’ll be able to find ATMs dispensing cash all over Boston. Tipping is very common, especially in restaurants, bars, and taxis. A common tip for restaurants, taxis, and most other services is 15% to 20% of the total amount.

Seven Seas Splendor

Debuted in September 2021, the 746-passenger, 548-crew member Seven Seas Splendor is the newest ship within the Regent fleet. Seven Seas Splendor – along with most of the line's other ships – takes opulence to the next level by equipping each suite with its own private balcony. Other standard in-room amenities include interactive flat-screen TVs, luxurious bath products, bathrobes and slippers, signature queen-size beds and dining tables for two. There are 10 suite categories available, ranging from the smallest Veranda (307 square feet) and Deluxe Veranda suites (308 to 361 square feet) to the largest Regent (4,443 square feet) and Master suites (1,895 to 2,108 square feet).

Guests have a wide array of things to do while on board. Spend your days relaxing at the spa, playing paddle tennis or bocce ball, working up a sweat on the jogging track or taking a dip in the ship's two whirlpools and two pools, one of which is an infinity-edge pool that stretches along the edge of the ship, providing swimmers with exceptional views of the ocean. At night, enjoy one of five shows at the onboard theater.

When it comes to food, Seven Seas Splendor offers eight eateries ranging from casual to fine dining. Enjoy your breakfast alfresco at La Veranda and grub down for lunch at the Pool Grill buffet. For something more formal, opt for a French-inspired meal at Chartreuse, Pan-Asian dishes at Pacific Rim or Compass Rose, the largest restaurant on the ship.

Seven Seas Splendor visits a variety of European and Mediterranean destinations, as well as ports across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and South America.

Viking Mars

Viking's newest ship, the Viking Mars accommodates 930 passengers and, since it's a smaller vessel, it can dock in many ports where some of the larger ocean-faring cruise ships can't reach. The all-veranda accommodations on this ship, which debuted in May 2022, range in size from around 270 square feet to 1,448 square feet. In-room amenities include free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs, safes, minibars filled with drinks and snacks, robes, slippers and 24-hour room service.

Visitors will find a relaxing spa, a hair salon, a yoga area and a well-equipped indoor fitness center (plus an outdoor fitness center) aboard the ship. Those looking to unwind with a book in one hand and a cocktail in the other should snag a cozy spot in The Living Room. Like other Viking ships, the Viking Mars offers educational programming, lectures, cooking classes and more on board.

Cruisers can also enjoy amenities like the main pool and hot tub, the infinity pool, the cinema, the theater, a jazz lounge and various bars. Dining options on this ship include Manfredi's Italian Restaurant, Aquavit Terrace, World Café, The Chef's Table and The Kitchen Table.

Viking Mars receives rave reviews from recent cruisers. The variety of excursions, the delectable onboard dining and the comfortable cabins are a few things previous guests highlighted as superb. However, the staff received mixed reviews: Some experienced attentive and friendly employees, while a few noted they were expecting better service across the board for the price point.

Upcoming itineraries on the Viking Mars include cruises with ports of call in Iceland, Norway, Greece, Italy, Spain, the U.S. and Canada.

Norwegian Gem cruise ship at sunset.

The most memorable cruises don’t necessarily need to take place in the classic exotic destinations. Rather the contrary even, they often are in other, surprisingly different places. Cruises through Norway’s epic fjords or along the majestic coasts of Alaska, for example, are magnificent. Another cruise hub that may come as somewhat of a surprise is Boston, Massachusetts.

There are a large number of interesting itineraries and cruise destinations from Boston. We discuss the best cruises from Boston and associated destinations below.

Cruising from Boston

A historically important harbor city, Boston is still a starting point for many fantastic excursions by boat. In fact, it’s one of the main cruise ship bases on this side of the North American continent. Below, we’ve listed some of the very best cruise destinations from Boston. You’ll notice that those destinations are as varied as can be, including everything from northerly coasts to tropical islands.

From Boston, you can sail north along the rugged New England and eastern Canadian coasts or to the tropical paradise that is the Caribbean. The city—one of the oldest in America—also is a great starting point for cruises across the Atlantic Ocean toward Europe. Plenty of options, in other words, so let’s check out some of the best destinations for cruises from Boston below.

1. Bermuda Cruises from Boston

Old fortress called Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda jetting into a beautiful blue ocean.

Bermuda is yet another of those island destinations that are associated with beach vacations. The thing is, however, that Bermuda lies surprisingly close to many cities on the United States’ East Coast. You might think that Bermuda is also a Caribbean or at least tropical island, but it’s not, even though it is, in fact, part of the Caribbean Community. It lies off the Mid-Atlantic Coast of the United States, closer to North Carolina and even Newfoundland than to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

This relatively northerly location doesn’t mean that this is a chilly destination, though. To the contrary rather, Bermuda boasts beautiful beaches and wonderful weather. Bermuda is arguably the greatest cruise destination from Boston , just because it is so surprisingly close, yet has a completely different culture and climate. Bermuda is actually one of the favorite holiday destinations among New Englanders.

Cruises are about seven days long and offer plenty of time to explore this beautiful island, which, incidentally, is a British Overseas Territory. Things to do range from scuba diving in barrier reefs to playing golf on world-class golf courses, sampling spicy local cuisine and exploring the island on a scooter.

2. New England Cruises from Boston

Skyline of Boston Massachusetts including Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market at dusk.

The coast of New England is among the most spectacular in the world. It may not be lined with towering cliffs or have amazing beaches with palm trees, but the beauty of New England’s coast lies in its simplicity, ruggedness and historic charm.

From the harbors of Connecticut to the yachts on the Rhode Island coast, from the coastal villages and beaches of Massachusetts to the rocky shorelines in Maine, there is a huge variety found in New England. Joining a cruise from Boston, you’ll find yourself admiring iconic lighthouses, typical New England harbor towns and picturesque islands.

Major ports of call on these cruises are Portland, Maine, a beautiful town consisting of a charming old town, stroll-worthy waterfront and a few fine lighthouses, and Bar Harbor, Maine, which is the gateway to stunning Acadia National Park.

3. Canada Cruises from Boston

Aerial view of Old Quebec City on the water.

You can add an extension to a cruise from Boston to New England and head further north into Canada. Lasting from one to two weeks, these types of cruises take in many highlights on the coast of eastern Canada, a region that’s much less visited than other parts of that vast country.

Departing from Boston, the trip might take you along the gorgeous New England coast, calling at Bar Harbor, Maine, before heading north to Nova Scotia. Destinations included in this memorable cruise are Halifax in Nova Scotia, Charlottetown on Prince Edward Islands (famous for its mussels), and the St. Lawrence River, Québec City and Montréal in Québec.

This is the perfect way to explore the eastern parts of Canada in a relaxed and convenient way. This cruise features mouthwatering seafood, epic coastal landscapes, picturesque fishing towns, fascinating history and, if you’re lucky, sightings of marine animals such as porpoises, seals and even whales.

4. Caribbean Cruises from Boston

A sunny Caribbean beach with chairs, turquoise water and sapphire blue skies.

Nothing invokes images of the perfect beach getaway quite like the Caribbean. This region is almost synonymous with a lifestyle featuring upbeat music, coconut-based cocktails, hammocks and perpetual sunshine. It’s the absolute perfect cruise destination.

Cruising from one Caribbean island to the next is the stuff travel dreams are made of and you can experience it yourself by joining a cruise from Boston. These cruises from Boston typically travel south along the East Coast of the United States, calling at popular places such as Charleston, Miami, the Bahamas and various Caribbean towns and islands.

Once in the Caribbean Sea, the cruise takes you to iconic destinations including Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Antigua, St. Maarten and several others. Some itineraries also include destinations on the continental coasts of the Caribbean Sea. Examples are Cancun in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Cartagena in Colombia. (Note that different cruises follow different routes and have different itineraries.)

If you really want to experience the Caribbean as a whole, as opposed to visiting just one island, a cruise is the one and only way to do that. The Caribbean islands are undoubtedly among the best cruise destinations from Boston.

What’s better than getting on board in Boston and letting the ship take you to sunnier places? These cruises generally last between nine and twelve days.

5. Panama Canal Cruises from Boston

Experiencing a Panama Canal crossing on board cruise ship.

Panama Canal cruises from Boston are a great way to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The cruise ships depart from Boston and sail down the east coast, into the Caribbean sea, and then through the Panama Canal. Depending on your voyage, you’ll have the opportunity to visit some amazing ports of call, including Colon, Cozumel, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, the Bimini Islands, and more.

One of the highlights of a Panama Canal cruise is, of course, the transit through the canal itself. This is truly an engineering marvel, and it’s an amazing experience to watch the ships being lifted up and down through the locks. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about the history of the canal and its importance to world trade.

In addition to the Panama Canal, you’ll also get to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The cruise ships sail through the Caribbean Sea, past lush islands and crystal-clear waters.

If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, a Panama Canal cruise from Boston is the perfect choice. You’ll see some of the most amazing scenery in the world, learn about history and engineering, and have a truly unforgettable experience.

These are the five best cruises from Boston, Massachusetts. In all their variety, they offer pretty much everything you could possibly be looking for. Whether you’re after a sun-sea-and-sand vacation or a holiday focused on local cuisine or nature, you’ll definitely get to your preferred destination(s) on these cruises.

$49-a-day standby cruise offer that includes Whittier sailings could be a dream, or a nightmare

cruises from boston april 2023

A cruise ship in port at Whittier in 2023. (Anne Raup / ADN)

For last-minute adventure seekers or those who love a good deal, Holland America Line has introduced a unique Standby List Program , offering travelers the chance to cruise for as little as $49 a day.

The concept is simple: Travelers add their names to a standby list for a specific itinerary, and if unsold rooms become available, they’ll be notified two to seven days before departure.

Cruise ships participating in the program depart from Whittier, Alaska; Seattle; San Diego; Boston; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Montreal; Quebec City; and Vancouver, B.C.

Although the program offers huge savings, it has a few catches. Standby passengers do not have control over their stateroom category, must be ready to embark on short notice and must be prepared for the possibility of not being selected (in which case they’ll receive a full refund). Young families are also excluded, because the fares are available only to those 21 and older.

“Travelers who want to benefit from a standby fare should keep in mind that once confirmed, Holland America Line assigns their room,” Rob Clabbers, founder and president of the agency Q Cruise + Travel, told Condé Nast Traveler . “While that might result in savings, it means travelers may end up in the last remaining and likely less preferred location — above a theater or night club (or) all the way forward or aft. While this may work for some, it is definitely not recommended for those who fear seasickness, have mobility issues, would like to be close to travel companions, (or) want to be near or away from elevators,” he said.

However, the payoff could be significant for those willing to roll the dice, especially for group travelers. The third and fourth guests in a stateroom can sail almost for free, paying only taxes and fees.

Despite the uncertainties, the allure of deeply discounted fares and the excitement of a last-minute adventure may be enough to entice daring travelers. As one Reddit user put it, “I feel like (a) 7-day notice for going to Hawaii is the kind of anxiety I need in my life.”

Boston Consulting Group Releases 2023 Annual Sustainability Report

BOSTON —Boston Consulting Group (BCG) today released its Annual Sustainability Report: From Bold Ideas to Exponential Impact . The report showcases the firm’s work throughout 2023 to find the most valuable, sustainable, and innovative solutions to pressing global social and planetary challenges. It also outlines BCG’s progress toward its own sustainability commitments.

“We are proud that in 2023 we delivered greater social and planetary impact than ever before—both internally and in our work with our clients and partners. The number of our client projects focused on social and planetary objectives has increased substantially, and we have achieved new milestones in our efforts to reach net zero climate impact by 2030,’’ said Christoph Schweizer , BCG’s CEO.

BCG has invested more than $1.5 billion in social and planetary impact since 2020 through pro bono and direct financial support in the private, public, and social sectors. During 2023, 72% of the firm’s largest clients were involved in at least one social or planetary impact case. BCG’s Climate & Sustainability practice had a portfolio of more than 1,500 projects in 2023, an increase of more than 50% since 2022. BCG also delivered over 1,000 Social Impact projects in 2023, up more than 35% since 2022.

Climate action remains one core pillar of BCG’s strategy. The firm was a Principal Strategy and Action Partner to COP28, building on the collaboration with the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions since 2020. BCG is helping clients implement reductions of more than 1 gigaton of CO 2 emissions by 2030, equivalent to the annual combined emissions of Germany and the UK.

“Our ambitious internal climate goals were at the very top of our agenda throughout the year, and we have stayed on track to achieve them,” said David Webb , BCG’s chief sustainability officer. “This commitment is also reflected in our investment in innovators who are pioneering new technologies including direct air capture and sustainable aviation fuels. These have potential to become a key part in meeting the planetary goals of carbon reduction and removal.”

BCG continued its strong performance on diversity, equity, and inclusion through the year. The company’s workforce increased to 32,000 in 2023. Women made up 47% of the global headcount, and 39% of the Executive Committee. For a decade, BCG has maintained equal retention rates for men and women globally on both the consulting and business services teams. Race and ethnicity remained a top priority for the firm. In the US, 44% of BCG’s people and 55% of our new hires were from racial or ethnic minority groups.

The report details the wide range of initiatives and programs that BCG has put in place to build a culture rooted in fairness and belonging, where every individual can thrive. The firm deployed its BLISS survey tool, which quantifies inclusion and its impact on employee retention, happiness, and well-being, to understand its current inclusion landscape and identify areas for improvement. The measurement is part of a comprehensive approach to inclusion, featuring employee groups such as Women@BCG, Pride@BCG, AccessAbility@BCG, Black+/LatinX@BCG, and First Generation.

The report is available here .

Boston Celtics

Heat

Celtics lead wire-to-wire in Miami, roll past Heat 104-84 for 2-1 lead in East series

Jaylen brown skies for putback dunk.

Jaylen Brown gets up at the rim and slams down a two-handed putback dunk for the Celtics.

MIAMI -- — For two days, the Boston Celtics lamented getting beaten on their home floor. And when they finally got to play again, they let out all the frustration.

The result: a defensive masterpiece.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each scored 22 points to lead a balanced approach, and the Celtics soundly beat the Miami Heat 104-84 on Saturday night to a take a 2-1 lead in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.

“We didn't make too many adjustments,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said. “We played a little bit harder, we played harder and we dictated the physicality and the tempo of the game. It's the simple things that you have to do under a high level of stress, high level of adversity. I thought our guys did a great job of dictating that tonight.”

Game 4 is Monday in Miami, where the Celtics are 9-2 in their last 11 games and 6-1 in their last seven playoff games.

Tatum added 10 rebounds and six assists for the Celtics, who led Game 3 wire-to-wire and reclaimed the home-court edge that they lost when Miami won Game 2 in Boston. Kristaps Porzingis had 18 points and Derrick White scored 16 for the Celtics.

The last time either team saw these kind of numbers — Boston on defense, Miami on offense — was Game 5 of the East finals on May 25, 2022, a 93-80 Celtics road win that helped them reach that season’s NBA Finals. The Heat had scored more than 84 points in every game since and the Celtics had allowed more than 84 in every game since.

“That’s where we’re going to win games, on the defensive end,” Tatum said.

Bam Adebayo scored 20 points for eighth-seeded Miami, which remains without starters Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier because of injuries. Nikola Jovic and Tyler Herro each scored 15 for the Heat, who got 12 from Jaime Jaquez Jr .

“They took us out of stuff we would like to get to," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "They were the more physical team. They bodied us, bullied us on screens, got through stuff, distorted screens, everything. ... You have to credit them for that. They were the more physical team, the team with more physicality and force on both ends of the court.”

Bounce-back efforts have been a trend for Boston this season. The Celtics — the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs — don't lose often, and when they do, they tend to just come out and win their next one. Boston is now 15-4 in the game immediately following a loss this season, its average victory margin in those games 12.2 points.

“Just mindset,” Brown said. “We put an emphasis on defense, trying to make them uncomfortable a little bit ... and I think that opened up the game.”

Boston never trailed in Game 1, a 114-94 win, and never trailed in Game 3 either on its way to beating Miami for the fifth time in six meetings this season. The Celtics led 21-12 after one, setting the tone for how nothing would come easily for the Heat.

Midway through the second quarter, it — briefly — seemed like Miami had weathered the storm. The Heat were making a bit of a run, the building had some life and Herro had a look at a 3-pointer that would have gotten the Heat within 10.

It rimmed out. The storm was not weathered. It was, in fact, just starting.

The Celtics outscored Miami 20-8 in the next 4 ½ minutes to go up 61-36 and the game was really never in doubt again It was 63-39 at the break, Boston dominant in every which way — a 19-2 edge in points off turnovers, a 26-12 scoring edge in the paint, 27-15 in rebounds, 13-6 in assists.

The lead reached 29 in the second half, Miami never getting closer than 18 after halftime.

“From the jump, they were more aggressive than us,” Jovic said. “That shouldn't be happening.”

Reaching 3pm DMO airport on Friday. Planning to stay at National just for location. After checking in we'll stroll around Red Sq.

9th night taking Grand exp to St.P

I have not finalised exact dates for particular excursions but below is what we want to do

One day: Kremlin (full)+ St Basils(inside) - Lunch - & Kitai Gorod area..walk. Lots of interesting bldgs there! Anyone conducting walking tour in this area...i'm still searching.

One Day: Private City tour with Den Rus ( are they reliable?) I guess we'll hire car with driver and guide for the whole day. They are ready to customize the tour to our interests. Their customer service via email is good. Request moscow forum veterans to kindly advise me if it is ok to book with them.

We don't want to stress ourselves with anything on this trip. We travel independently but metros, etc we don't intend to take. Den Rus is willing to pick-drop from airport/rail & also ready to get tickets for train. If i can find a good tour operator then we can concentrate on seeing the awe-inspiring city without any tension.

For city tour: No inside visits to Museums..more interested in seeing outer facades/landscape. Inside visits to only limited spots.

Christ cathedral the saviour, Sparrow Hills for pics, Victory park, (and if driver agrees...lunch at a cafe on Arbat St), very interested in the moscow state university. After this depending on time wud like to do a quick tour of the zamoskvoreche area...many diff kinds of churches there(around Pyatnitskaya Ulitsa). wud love to take pics from outside & maybe a quick inside visit to some. I believe the tour operator will agree to our itinerary. Am i on the right lines...do advice.

Is Novodevichy Convent worth a visit this time of year? It'll take time i know...we might reserve it for another day.

Lastly At this time of the year is it worth taking a Day or night trip to Suzdal & Vladimir. I really wanted to see places beyond moscow...pass by industries, towns, etc. Suzdal has a very quaint hotel within the monastary. i found it very interesting. Some say it's so cold that it's not worth at this time of the year. We live in desert land Dubai....so wondering if we shud take this tour.

We can extend our time in Moscow if needed.

Too many questions. But i don't know whom else to ask. Will be very grateful for your suggestions.

Many Thanks, Nirupama.

' class=

Well, the itinerary seems ok if that's what you're interested in.

I see no particular objections to visiting Suzdal and Vladimir now. The weather in general might not be very nice for walking around, but as you're already here...

You have got your visas arranged already?

Thanks for ur reply Marassa.

I really want to go to Suzdal.

@Michaeldunha: We'll be flying Emirates Airlines Dubai-Moscow & St.P back to Dubai...so i believe they'll be able to help us with the visa. Else, will have to seek a letter from National Hotel & from St.P hotel(which we haven't finalised yet). If we run late, we'll postpone the trip by 1 week. Infact, i'm a lil unsure of the visa requirements...

cruises from boston april 2023

Yes, you better hurry. You may be able to go to the Russian consulate in person and get it the same day? But the cost will be $$$$. I would call them. I would think they could at least expidite the proccess and get them in about 3 days? But all consultates all run at their own pace. Take your hotel paper work with you. Good luck. AIM.

Nirupama, Your itinerary sounds good. Couple of points (see my comment on visas made in an earlier post.):

You can have lunch on Arbat street on your own - lot of eating options and staff generally understand English, due to the influx of tourists. If you can bargain well, you can pick up your souvenir's from there too.

Novodevichy Cemetery is worth a visit, if you are familiar with Russian history and the personalities buried there (like the famous personalities mentioned on the Kremlin walls).

Visiting the Metro is a must. All the good stations are on the same (ring) line. The cheap way of doing it, is to buy 1 ticket and see the insides of multiple stations without exiting the Metro.

Vladimir / Suzdal will take a day. I don't know if tour companies cover it at a reasonable price - I just took a train from Moscow. If you are visiting Churches in Moscow and St Pts, you might like to reconsider Vladimir-Suzdal.

The Russian countryside, like the weather, at this time of year, is beautiful and will certainly be a change from Dubai.

Excellent points, RDean, but I beg to disagree on this one:

> All the good stations are on the same (ring) line

Of course, personal definitions of 'good' may vary widely, but I think most stations within the ring are very interesting as well (Mayakovskaya, Ploschad Revolutsii to name a few). Most stations beyond the ring are much less ornate, for sure.

Vladimir-Suzdal cancelled (the tour operators are charging a fortune...double that of what globus/etc charge during season for golden ring tour) Anyways...i'm still hunting for some good guide/ car to take me around for 1 whole day wherein i want to cover

(new maiden convent (inside visit), church of nikolas of the weavers(inside visit), church of st.john the warrior, donskoy monastry & kolomenskoe...these look beautiful and are a different in some ways too.

It's really tough to get operators who can divert from the regular route. Appreciate help in this regard.
