Carlos arranged it all, with transportation early in the morning and lunch a couple of hours later. The Hike was guided by the very friendly Roberto, who showed us all the best spots and views at Punta Lobos, and we also had a great time with him during the hike!

I would emphatically recommend this to anyone– above nearly anything else you do. We saw beautiful fish, coral, birds, and yes, sea lions. It depends on their mood how much contact you get but in all cases a unique and very special experience that’s well worth the trip and the price… They’ve thought out every last detail of your experience so new things come at just the right speed to be comfy with just enough relaxation to appreciate them.

A group of 6 of us from LA were treated like family and felt super safe. Our group had a mixture of beginners and ocean veterans and they made sure all of us had fun on our own levels… We went on a boat and saw dolphins, turtles, and swam with sea lions. It was all so dreamy. Then we broke from lunch on a private beach where they made us lunch with fresh fish.

Awesome experience, best thing ever. Service was outstanding. We had a great time with friends, whale watching is one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve ever had.

San Jose del Cabo Airport to La Paz with EcoBajaTours

Flight schedules into San Jose del Cabo Airport (SJD) are much more widely available than into La Paz from the US. Even with the 3-3.5 hour road transfer between the SJD Airport and La Paz, total travel time from the US may be shorter than flying directly into La Paz.

My international flight arrived in Terminal 2 and Ecobajatours’ office is in Terminal 1. SJD Airport has three terminals and they are not connected by internal walkways or trains as in many airports. If you want to stretch your legs, don’t have heavy luggage, and/or aren’t in warm winter clothing, you can walk from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 easily. It’s about half a mile between the two terminals so a 5-10 minute walk. Turn left and follow the sidewalk to the next terminal.

Otherwise, you can take a shuttle between terminals. When you exit the airport and are outside, you’ll be approached by people asking if you need a taxi or shuttle. Let them know you’re just going to Terminal 1 and you should be able to get a driver to take you free plus a tip.

Navigating Ecobajatours’ website ( isn’t always easy and departure/arrival options aren’t clear. However, you can email them directly or via Facebook. In addition to booking round-trip transfers from SJD to La Paz, I also booked private transfers from the airport to a hotel in Cabo San Lucas. The transfers were on time and drivers courteous and safe. The group shuttles hold a maximum of seven passengers so it’s a good idea to book ahead of time. The shuttles also have wifi on board. Reception is spotty in locations, but a nice perk.

At this time (March 2014), the following schedule applies for transfers between SJD Airport and La Paz. The current price is 420 MXN for round-trip transfers.

Shuttle Eco Baja Tours from airport in Cabos to La Paz.

There was myself a friend and another gal on our shuttle. We stopped half way to use restroom and grab a bite real quick. We jumped out and walked about ten feet to the pizza parlor across the street from the little bus station. When we got back on shuttle shared the pizza with driver and other gal. When we arrived in La Paz. I looked for my wallet and it was gone. It had my id’s $500 cash and kids photos. I went directly to the driver and the employee running eco tours that day. The driver denied it. I tried to give him a chance to return it by asking him to check for it for me. If I could just get the wallet back. To no avail. I got very sick while there from a reaction to medication given to me antibiotics in the states. Blisters all over mouth and throat, swollen tongue and throat and blisters on feet. It was awful. So I had no money or credit cards for doctors. I wrote the company again and was told that I basically was a liar. And why did I wait to report so long? I reported it that day, the next day and the next day and the next day in person. Then online. I was so sick all I could do was try to find a doctor. Don’t use eco tours. They were rude, could care less about my wallet. The beginning of what was to be a good trip and a photo shoot which I could not do either one. My wallet was inside a small backpack sitting under the seat I was in. Very disappointed. No I am sorry or let us check it out or talk to the driver. Nothing.

We used EcoBaja Tour to go from the San Jose airport to and from La Paz with ease and affordability. There website wasn't working when we tried (many, many, many) times from Canada but there just happen to be room on the bus! whew

We booked through the website after a few emails back and forth. The booking was process was fairly simple. We booked a round trip from SJD to La Paz.Our driver was very easy to find at SJD and the minibus was very clean and comfortable. The driver announced stops and when we stopped for the restroom. The check in service at La Paz tourist terminal was fantastic also. On our return we got dropped in Cabo for the next leg of our holiday. I would highly recommend and use their service again.

I booked a later shuttle from the Cabo airport to La Paz because I didn't know how long it would take to get through the airport. Got through quickly and found the driver, he contacted dispatch and got me on the earlier shuttle, fortunately for me there was room. The driver was courteous and a good driver. I would use them again if I am ever back down this way.

The EcoBaja Tours shuttle from the San Jose del Cabo airport to La Paz is easy to book online, as we exited the airport, people directed us to exactly where we were to rendezvous with the driver, the shuttle itself was comfortable and clean and it only made one stop in Los Barilles on its way to La Paz, so the trip was quick. The Aguilar bus from the town of San Jose del Cabo is fine - it will take you to and from La Paz too for half the price, but it makes all the local stops, takes twice the amount of time, and doesn't pick up or drop off at the airport.

I easily reserved my trip online a few weeks before my trip, but once in Cabo I could not figure out where the bus station was from either my receipt or their online site (my whale tour company finally sent the address). The vehicle was a large minibus vehicle with about 1 inch clearance between knee and seat. Luckily after about 45 minutes we stopped in a town where we were able to take over the front row that offered a little more room. We stopped 2 or 3 times to let off or pick up other passengers, with no announcements or info as to where we were. They say they offer wifi and while i could connect to the bus wifi, the wifi itself was not connected to the internet. when I asked the driver about it his reply was "who knows, maybe the company didn't pay its bill".

Frequently asked questions.

We have a passion for our community and our environment, and are deeply committed to creating a wonderful experience for you and your loved ones. Moreover, We realize you are entrusting us with one of your most valuable and scarce resources, your travel and vacation time, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

For our day trips, unless otherwise specified in the meals preference, we take a fish ceviche with corn tostadas, fruit and soft drinks. We always have water available to refill bottles. In case of vegetarians and vegans we provide hummus instead of ceviche. So, it goes really well with our awesome tostadas, just let us know of your preference at the time of booking.

We don’t have strict age limits. People of all ages are welcome. Moreover, we do have some recommendations, based on our experience:

Regarding children – Children of all ages are welcome, the only real consideration is how much they and their family will enjoy the experience together. Swimming with the whale shark can be an intense experience for small children, and some don’t want to participate.

Regarding adults – Our trips require only a moderate level of fitness and energy. Therefore the most strenuous activities could include climbing a short ladder to exit the water and enter the panga, and swimming against a current. But we are always around to help, and all passengers have overcome these challenges.

1- Wake up. 2- Cold breakfast. 3- Warm breakfast. 4- Adventure! Might mean kayaking , hiking, snorkeling, etc. 2 hours of activity. 5- Snack and a break, followed by another 1-2 hours of activities. 6- Lunch. 7- Happy hour 8- Dinner 9- Bed time.

Meals are deliciously created by Hubert and his son, Jeret. It is a mix of Mexican fare such as enchiladas, chilaquiles and ceviches, as well as international options like eggs and pancakes for breakfast, sandwiches for occasional lunches and BBQ chicken with mashed potatoes for dinner. Moreover, we can accommodate all eating preferences and allergies. Meals are prepared without chilies, but we always have salsa around if you like the heat.

The meals run on the following schedule, approximately:

7 Cold breakfast – Enjoy the sunrise with a hot coffee in hand. 8 Hot breakfast. Chilaquiles, avocado toast, quesadillas… 11 Snack. Trailmix, fruit… 12-1 Lunch. Ceviche, chicken salad, sandwiches… 5:30 Happy hour. Margarita with ceviche, Bloody Mary with chips and salsa… 7 Dinner. BBQ chicken, steak tacos, spaghetti…

Absolutely. We prepare all meals at camp, so we don’t involve single-use plastics in that part. We frequently eat lunch away from camp, but we aim to reuse all our containers. As for the shopping, we do everything we can to reduce the plastic we use. This includes using only returnable glass containers for beers and soft drinks.

Our aim is to be out and about, exploring this wonderful island, so we offer little downtime at camp during the day. However, down time can be incorporated at your request. So, guests can use that time anyway they choose, some paint, meditate, read, rest, walk the beach, swim, snorkel the reef…

We pick up all the trash we see, but there is hardly enough to organize an activity around it. A local group that has already done a bang-up job cleaning the beaches and reefs around La Paz, and there’s none left! Check out Mar Libre’s work. The only exception to this is the Gray Whale Research Camp. Therefore, in the lagoon, there is a lot of plastic, and we do pick-ups on our daily beach walks.

Cabo to La Paz and back - Aguila bus better

I pre-booked my tickets to get from San Hose Del Cabo airport to La Paz and back. Their booking system wasn't great and there isn't much customer service. When I showed up at the airport (make sure not to go to the international terminal or you will have to walk a really long way outside with your luggage to reach the domestic terminal), I was told the shuttle was delayed. I had met friends who were using the Aguila bus instead (which is apparently part of the same company), so I asked if I could take the Aguila bus instead of being delayed (the Aguila has more frequent departures). The guy responsible told me he would make arrangements for me to get to the bus station and take the Aguila, and that I wouldn't have to pay anything extra. I did this, but then deeply regretted it. Once I got to the bus station, they wanted me to pay for another bus ticket and didn't accept my Ecobaja ticket. I told them to call the guy who made all the arrangements, but they insisted I had to buy another ticket. Luckily I happened to run into a local friend who talked to them for me and they finally let me get on the bus, but it was very stressful. The bus ride went well. Both the Aguila bus and Ecobaja Tours drop you off at the same place, the bus station on the Malecon. The ride back to San Hose Del Cabo went smoothly. I would recommend taking the Aguila bus instead of Ecobaja Tours for several reasons: 1) You don't need to pre-book the Aguila bus 2) Aguila has more frequent departures than Ecobaja 3) Aguila is a large bus vs Ecobaja which is a shuttle. The shuttle might sound more comfortable, but in reality the bus was better. The bus isn't usually packed and you have plenty of room (no one sat beside me). The shuttle did get packed and someone was sitting beside me. Both have A/C. 4) Aguila is cheaper than Ecobaja, and offers the same service (expect that Ecobaja is from the airport and Aguila is from the bus station). Both take around the same amount of time.

Our driver Marco was very courteous and helpful. It was dark when we arrived from the airport and as we were the last passengers he delivered us to our doorstep. The van was very comfortable and clean. The pricing was very affordable. Would highly recommend

Took the small shuttle bus from La Paz to San Jose del Cabo Airport. The driver drove totally unsafe at about 110 km/h through windy hilly mountain passes where the speed limit was 40-60km/h. When we arrived at the airport both myself and my friend were incredibly car sick. Would not recommend this service unless you want to arrive car sick.

This company works, as long as you never need to make changes to your reservations. They become impossible to reach and do not refund a single penny. I recommend taking the local bus company for $18, from Los Cabos to La Paz. Much easier and cheaper than dealing with this mess of a company!

EcoBajaTours of La Paz Canceled our 7 am bus to the airport at 7:05 am at the bus station. Will not use again.

We used ecobaja tours bus from Los Cabos to La Paz and La Paz to los Cabos airport. The service is great! Our two drivers (Samuel and Carlos) were friendly, respectful, very good drivers and gave us great tips where to eat in La Paz. The accommodations on the bus (Van) are very comfortable. We got our tickets online in advance. We highly recommend ecobaja tours.
