Levan, my guide made the tour come alive for me. He was more like a friend taking me around this beautiful country called Georgia! He knew so much about Georgia and was so fantastic about showing me things and telling me things that I was interested in. The only thing that I would recommend improving on would be the choice if hotel. The hotel Vere palace is ok - not great. But I came back to the hotel only to sleep at night so that was ok too! Georgia is a beautiful country and I believe I will come back for sure!

Georgia Adventure Tour

Georgia Adventure

I think this trip was very expensive for what we got. I traveled independently in Georgia and found it cheap and easy to eat great food, stay in really good accommodation and find specialised guides and transportation. The hotel we stayed in in Mestia cost AUD$35 for a single occupancy with breakfast and dinner. Our cost per day was AUD $200 (without a single supplement). That’s one hell of a lot for a guide and transportation in a country like Georgia. The breakfasts in two of the hotels were atrocious. Given Intrepid used a local company I think there was just far too much cash going to people not contributing anything. I also found Intrepid hopelessly unresponsive to my email enquires in the days leading up to the trip. I’d heard that Intrepid are a great company. Certainly wasn’t my experience and I doubt that I would risk using them again. Certainly won’t be recommending my friends do this. I’ll be telling them to book directly with operators in Georgia.

This was our second trek with Trek Georgia and as per our first trek it was fantastic. Good organisation, communication and transport. Nutsa our guide was amazing. The accommodation and food were great all along the trek and the pace and distances covered each day were very achievable. Tusheti is a special place and we really enjoyed our time hiking there. Highly recommend.

What people love about active tours in georgia.

The whole tour was great and enjoyable. I originally thought that it would be a group tour but ended up as a private tour. I was able to visit and see different places at my own pace. I didn’t have to think of others, nor rush visiting any places we've been to. Levan, my guide, was great and vey kind. He was chill the whole time. There was no pressure on going somewhere or doing activities on the places we visited. He usually brief me of the things that we’ll be doing for the day and asked me if there’s anything I want or don’t want to visit. He knows how to read the room. He chitchat and joke around when I’m up for it and leave me alone when I’m not in the mood to talk. Most of all, he let me sleep. For someone who’s been sleep deprived, the last thing I need is a super chatty guide. I also learned a lot of things from him about Georgian culture and history. Thank you Glad Travel! And of course, thanks you Levan.

Great Adventure

This was a random visit but I really enjoyed myself. I haven’t been in so many years so I didn’t know what 2 expect. Lines weren’t long. Price 4 tickets weren’t bad. Concession was really high and it was really hot outside. Also they had an air conditioned dining area that wasn’t so air conditioned. They had the door propped open and it was really dirty inside and it was not stocked. Staff was really nice and attentive.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to review us. Hope to see you again soon!

Good amusement park with great roller coasters & rides. There are rides for all ages & all fear levels.

We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

My wife and I went there on May 25th, 2019 and we did not have a good time. Firstly, we were forced to rent a locker after trying to ride the first ride "The Georgia Scorcher", because they would not allow us to set our small bag on the side. When we went to rent a locker, the machine was only accepting cash so we had to find an ATM. Once we found the ATM we came back to the machine and it said it only took exact change. So, we had to find change for a 20$ bill. We went to one of the shops there and asked the lady if she could give us change for a 20, she said no she cannot. She saw my wife and I about to break down because we were already having a horrible time with just the first hour in the park. So, she ended up giving us change for the 20. We were finally able to get the change and rent a locker. After that, we tried riding a couple of rides but they had to shut them down for maintenance or some kind of repairs. Almost every ride we went on had some kind of maintenance issue and they had to shut the rides down for extended periods of time. On the new ride called "Pandemonium", the employees locked themselves out of the control room and we had to wait for them to get spare keys. Since we had to wait for rides to work again my wife and I wanted to get a couple of pretzels but the snack place we went too were all out. After walking around the park some more we found a place that had some pretzels. After we ate our food, we went to ride some more rides. On the “Twisted Cyclone” we got stuck on the ride because they had issues with trying to unlock the seats on the roller coaster. My wife bought a picture package but almost all the cameras were not working or the ride did not have a camera. That was the first waste of money. The second waste of money was the flash passes. Almost all the lines were very short and no one even checked for our flash pass. There wasn't a need to buy them in the first place. None of the roller coasters there really stood out as impressive either. It was a huge waste of time and money. I am not going to recommend anyone go to this place.

Had a really good day here today. Parking cost $25. We arrived early for it opening. It did get very busy as the day went on. Some really good coasters and rides. But stay away from the great America scream machine. Built in 1973. It feels it. I have been on a lot of coasters over the years and this was by far the worst. It hurt and give me a major headache with every bump. Diffently one to miss. But a lot of really good ones like the newest addition the twisted cyclone. We never waited to long. There is lockers at the rides $1 does 2 hours. Or $5 for 5 rides at different locations.

great adventure travel ga

We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. Have a great day!

I am 5'7 and I am a size US 16, and I wear an XL shirt size. I've been calorie counting for months and I'm currently down 4 pant sizes. So when I was told I was too big to ride one of the rides I was disappointed. So we tried Goliath and the bar locked but I guess not enough for me to ride, it's fine, whatever, JUST TELL ME, but when the ride workers started calling other workers over and they started trying to slam the bar into me with their bodies, I was NOT okay. Not only did that actually hurt me but it humiliated me in front of hundreds of people. It caused a HUGE scene and delayed the ride for at least 5 minutes. So by the time I was finally told to get off the ride i was ready to leave. We had been in the park for maybe an hour before we left. Didn't ride anything, didn't do anything. And I felt too humiliated to even think to ask for my money back. I doubt they would even consider it any ways.

This family oriented amusement park was one of our stops on our vacation to Atlanta this year. We visited the Sunday before Memorial Day and it seemed to have been a good day to go. We had little to no wait times to go on the rides. Many options of rides for kids and adults. Water park for hot summer days. Lots of food stops and options. Free unlimited drink refills special was on at the time we went. A great fun day !!

Georgia Adventure

11 days | explore ancient cities, glaciers, forests and culture as you travel through georgia.

Ushguli village at the head of the Enguri gorge at sunrise in Svaneti, Georgia

This all-encompassing trip takes you from the historical cities of Georgia to the remote snow-capped Caucasus mountains. Wander through the historical capital of Tbilisi, stroll in the local market in Kutaisi, immerse in the unbeatable Georgian hospitality, journey to the the remote villages in the mountains. Reconnect with nature on hikes through wooded forests and past the Chaladi glacier, wander between the ancient Svan towers, learn the secrets of Georgian cheese making and indulge your taste buds with fragrant Georgian wine.

Trip overview

  • Journey to the Svaneti region, a remote and alluring land of snow-capped mountains, discover the iconic tower houses dotted amongst mountain valleys and learn of one of the highest settlement in Europe - Ushguli people and its fascinating culture and traditions.
  • Get active on hikes in the shadow of magnificent snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus to medieval villages and one of the biggest glaciers in Georgia, Shkhara glacier.
  • Take guided walking tour of Tbilisi a fascinating eclectic mix of architecture, and culture; hear stories of kings and queens and intrigue and mystery from your local guide.

  • Relax in the seaside Batumi with plenty cafes and restaurants to explore and admire the amazing modern monument Ali and Nino at the beach that set a tender and romantic tone to the city.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Hub. Donations help them improve their services and training hub to connect people, who’ve fled their homes due to war or political instability, with their new community in Georgia.
  • You will reach a significant altitude on this trip (2,200 metres) at the highest point so a good level of fitness is required for hiking. That said, alternative activities can often be arranged for those who would prefer not to hike.
  • There are some long travel days and some rough travelling in areas away from main tourist routes. Windy roads and rough surfaces make for some challenging travel experiences. On some long travel days we depart early in the morning to ensure we optimise our time at our next destination. If you experience travel sickness we recommend you consider medication to help ease the discomfort.
  • As we don't want you to miss anything, the itinerary is densely packed, so you'll be busy. There will, however, be plenty of free time and opportunity for independent exploration.
  • You require comfortable shoes suitable for moderate level hiking, water proof would be the preference as you may need to cross some small streams on the hike.

Gamarjoba! Welcome to Georgia.Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm tonight. If you arrive early, be sure to explore Tbilisi with it's picturesque architecture, inviting cafes and wine bars dotted around the downtown.

  • Hotel (1 night)

It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late please let your travel agent or hotel reception know. Ask reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.

After breakfast take part in a sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. The locals like to call their capital the "Balcony of Europe", placing it on par with many of Europe's graceful old cities. All the sights in the Old Town are very close to each other and within a few minutes’ walk. You'll pass by Baratashvili bridge, Gabriadze Leaning Tower, the Peace Bridge and Sioni Cathedral on your guided walking tour. Afterwards, you may choose to visit Narikala Fortress and the Sulphur Baths in your free time and to further explore the capital. The evening is also free for you to enjoy. After a restful night, journey to the remote Svaneti region (approximately 5-6 hours). Svaneti is the highest inhabited area in the Caucasus and is divided in two parts: Upper Svaneti and Lower Svaneti. Arrive into Mestia, the centre of Upper Svaneti. Mestia is surrounded by mountains, medieval-type villages and disctinctive tower-houses. The famous tower-houses were built to accommodate villagers at times of invasion and violence during the 9th -13th centuries. Around 175 towers still stand today, although many are uninhabited. The area is home to the Svans, a proud people with a long history of survival in this isolated part of Europe, who speak their own language. Spend the night in a local guesthouse.

  • Guesthouse (1 night)

The guesthouse in Mestia has limited rooms with private facilities. You might be allocated to room with shared facilities on rare occasions for your stay in Mestia on Day 4, 5 &7.

After little uphill walking we descend to the beautiful valley full with blooming flowers and enjoy an amazing view of Chalati Glacier (2300m) and of Mestia Valley with its watchtowers. The paths can be steep and the ground uneven so you will need good fitness and appropriate footwear for this walk. Those not wishing to hike can stay in Mestia.  In the evening we discover how Georgians make their beloved cheese. Cheese is found in many Georgian dishes and is a key ingredient in the famous khachapuri, a traditional Georgian dish of cheese-filled bread which you will no doubt eat plenty of during your time here!

The village is located at 2,200 metres above sea level, and is one of the highest inhabited villages in Europe. Ushguli is most famous for its abundance of watchtowers – this is where you'll see the famous view of the towers set to the highest mountain in Georgia, the snow capped Mt Shkhara (5,068 metres). Visit the 12th-century Lamaria Church and walk to Queen Tamar’s tower. Total walking time is 2-3 hours depending on fitness and trail conditions. Those not wishing to walk may stay and explore Ushguli - maybe visit an ethnographic museums or walk around the village and become familiar with the daily life of the local people. Stay in a hotel tonight.

In the morning take part in a short tour around the city. The afternoon is yours to relax. Batumi has a relaxed atmosphere, great restaurants and nightlife.
