Wish I would have read the reviews before buying. This is very overpriced for what you get. We have been on carriage rides in other cities and this doesn't even compare to them. Tour guide was nice and they did provide blankets due to it being extremely cold and rainy. I would spend your money elsewhere in Vancouver.

We've been meaning to explore Stanley Park for a long time. The park is huge. You could easily spend all day hiking or bicycling all over. We thought what better way to explore than on a horse drawn trolley? It was awesome! The kiosk is just few minutes walk inside the park with restrooms and a snack bar right there. The horses were magnificent! I had seen draft horses before at Evergreen State Fair but they are still a sight to behold, especially up close. The trolley was comfortable and airy. We moved at a leisurely pace. Not only was it super relaxing but it made it easier to take in the beauty of the park and the surrounding water. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable and kind to the horses. She told us all about how the horses are cared for, not just in season but off-season as well. The park itself is absolutely stunning! I cannot recommend Stanley Park enough, whether you go on the horse drawn tour or not.

Tour booking system is not well managed. They oversell each carriage and then kick a certain number of people off -- apparently this is common practice. We bought tickets about an hour ahead of time, and after everyone was seated, they kicked us off and told us we had to wait for the next carriage ride. We had plans right after and weren't able to take the carriage, so had to forgo the experience altogether. Better to rent a bike and just do a self-guided walking or driving tour.

Photo of Michele O.

This is a great way to get an overview of the park at a relaxed, comfortable pace. The beautiful horses did all the work while we sat back and enjoyed the scenery. We traveled along Park Drive overlooking the seawall and the ocean. We saw the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Deadman's Island, the First Nation Totem poles, the Girl in a Wetsuit Statue and the Empress of Japan Figurehead. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, providing great info about different features of the park. The tour takes about an hour. After a fast-paced morning with a great deal of walking, it was nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Yes this is a slow ride, and yes you could probably walk around the park instead, but I personally loved the experience. The horses were adorable, the guide very friendly. And I got to talk to the other folks on the ride which was fun. It was a rainy day so I grabbed three blankets and covered myself head to toe lol. The horses seem well cared for, I didn't find that to be a concern. If you've always wanted to do this, go for it :)

Wet horses lol.

So much fun! Danielle was an excellent guide. Such a great way to see the sights without much walking. They do stop for 5 minutes at the totem poles so you can get great pictures. Definitely learned a lot that I did not know. Worth the price!

I took this tour with my family and friends. Its a little less than a one hour tour and it takes you to most of the highlighted spots in Stanley Park. It is a relaxing ride, very quiet and serene but I can see if you had really little kids, it could be an issue. The tour takes you to the Native American totem poles, it passes several monuments with an in-depth history of the park. Our tour guide was very informative. We passed an active film crew filming some type of show or movie, unfortunately we didn't have access into that area. As always, it's not a pleasant smell when the horses go to the bathroom in he street. Still a very nice tour.

Photo of Anita C.

After a long trek along the beautiful sea wall, it was simply nice and relaxing to be able to sit in a horse drawn trolley while taking in the beauty and history of this awesome park. I actually got a little drowsy on this tour. It was definitely not because the tour was boring but I was a little tired from our long walk, the nice cool breeze, and the relaxed pace of the ride made it pretty conducive for a nice nap. At $34 CAD per person, we were appreciative of sights we wouldn't have seen had we went on foot or on bike. A definite must visit on your first Stanley park visit!

Photo of Gail P.

I am NEVER ashamed to do touristy stuff like this. Taking a carriage-ride through this beautiful Park is almost de rigueur to get a good idea just how lovely Stanley Park really is. I didn't want to take one of those claustrophobic bus tours when some friendly horses and fresh air were an option.. Since this is a Horse-Drawn Carriage, I would advice tour guests to dress warmly and be prepared for chilly weather. The ride does provide cozy blankets but there was a light drizzle happening when my son and I went on the tour. They may call Vancouver "The San Diego of Canada," but there wasn't much sunshine when we were there! Still, I was beside myself with the beauty of this Crown Jewel of Parks. There were so many recreational activities available and plenty of Vancouver-ites were making good use of the Park.. Joggers, hikers, bikers, boaters-Vancouver doesn't waste this space one bit! The plants, trees, and flowers are a botanical delight and the greenery in this park was mind-blowing. The Carriage Tour Guide was very friendly (as most Canadians are) and very knowledgable about all the history and flora and fauna of Stanley Park. The guides are fonts of wisdom and very entertaining in their Park 'rap." Particularly if you are visiting with kids, this is a great treat for them. My son and I enjoyed feeding the horses treats after the tour. I wish we had something like this in our San Diego's Balboa Park. Our Horse Drawn Carriages just drive the drunks and tourists around the Gaslamp Quarter visiting bars and hotels along the way! Do not miss this tour! After it, I could brag to my friend's back home that I went riding a horse in Stanley Park. Well-technically that's correct!

My girlfriend Jen and I received a gift certificate for a 2 hour trail ride at Leghorn Ranch as a gift. We were very excited for a relaxing ride, and the experience definitely lived up to our hopes. Hanif, the tour guide was fun, helpful and made the entire experience that much more comfortable. The horses are really well trained and behaved, so beginners and children can expect the safest and most enjoyable experience. The trail ride itself was fantastic. Very quiet, and natural. We saw geese and their young, ducks, berry farms and haring. Everyone we encountered on the trail was friendly and would say hello. Thank you so much Leghorn Ranch for this wonderful experience!

Wonderful Horseback Riding Experience

Vancouver Horseback Trail Riding

I went to Leghorn ranch along with 7 other friends. All of which had either little to no experience horse riding. Hanif and Janet were amazing, they pair a horse to your needs and experience, along with a trail ride that best suits your abilities. The horses are fantastic ranging from those who are very quiet and calm to those with a little spark for more advanced riders. They can accommodate any riders needs and provide a quick mini lesson in the beginning for those who need the extra riding tips. Myself and my friends (all 8 of us) had an amazing time going along the beginners trail, with beautiful views and a fab little stream crossing for fun. All of my friends commented on what an amazing experience it was and would love to return again. I myself will most definitely be back and look forward to trying the more advanced trails throughout the mountainside. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Janet, Hanif and their amazing horses for making our day out a rememberable one. Thanks for the Cowgirl experience.

Safety First Horse Riding

I wanted to do something nice for my hubby who used to take riding lessons. I have been on a few trail rides but by no means am I a great rider, and Hanif had the foresight to call me after I booked a more advanced trail to say that it was better to do a less advanced ride as my experience was more matched to that.

How great is that? Someone concerned for my safety and well-being rather than taking my money and giving me what could have been not only scary but a dangerous ride.

We felt that we were in great hands, from being matched up to horses that suited us to make sure we knew the basics before heading out. Because of this, we had an excellent time. Both Hanif and Janet are very nice people, they know their stuff, and we left wanting more.

Thank you both for making our experience a great one. We can’t wait to come back again knowing we are in trustworthy hands.

Nice to see Safety First over Cash Grab

We Saw A Bear

My daughter and I had the pleasure of riding Jack & Warrior, two beautiful and well-behaved geldings. Although we have both grown up riding horses in Ontario we found the wit, charm and sense of humour of Hanif and the exceptional backdrop beauty of British Columbia second to none and our best trail ride yet! Our ride started off relaxing & calm but then Hanif spotted and pointed out a bear…..our adrenaline started pumping and we couldn’t believe our eyes!!! A bear…. a real bear, unbelievable!! So exciting!! I get goosebumps just thinking about it!! Highly recommended for all ages/levels! Well worth the money! Now go and book a ride…..you won’t be disappointed 🙂

Leghorn ranch in the media.

We had a lovely ride at Leghorn ranch! Hanif, the guide, was very helpful and took us on a scenic trail. The horses were well cared for and were gentle and well-mannered. We will definitely go back to Leghorn Ranch. Highly recommend!

Beautiful scenery. Kind and friendly staff. Received education about horses, wild animals, and vegetation in the area. Heard many good things about the place but still exceeded expectation. Highly recommended for weekend family outings and adventures.

Great service, friendly staff, gorgeous horses and a beautiful ride. Went for the 2hr ride and the views are very scenic. Riding thru the river was really fun. Highly recommend Leghorn ranch for your ride, went with 3 first timers and they loved it and felt very comfortable with their first horseback riding experience.

Horses for Courses: Expect international shootout at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson

Horses for Courses

Change Text Size

May begins with an ol’ fashion wild west shootout with THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson in the Dallas suburb of McKinney, Texas.

Since 1968, Byron Nelson has been synonymous with this event held in the Dallas area. After recent stops at TPC Four Seasons and Trinity Forest, TPC Craig Ranch took over hosting duties starting with the 2021 tournament.

Opened in 2004, the Tom Weiskopf design, like most things in Texas, is bigger than most tracks. Playing to 7,414 yards, the par-71 layout, changed from par-72 for the 2023 edition, provides plenty of room to work the golf ball with and against the wind that blows in this part of the world.

With all that room, the best players in the world have little trouble scoring on this layout. K.H. Lee (+5000) won the first two editions at TPC Craig Ranch and set the tournament scoring record each time. Posting 25-under and winning by three, the Korean picked up his first victory on the PGA TOUR in the 2021 edition. Successfully defending his title in 2022, he went one shot better, 26-under. Squaring only six bogeys against 53 birdies and two eagles, he finally ran out of gas in 2023. Signing for four more rounds of 70 or better and running his total to 12 straight, his 11-under-par total of 273 was good for a tie for 50 th . Yep, 11-under-par did NOT finish in the top 50 last year! Go lower!

Strokes Gained: Approach the Green

Players listed are in the field this week; 2024 season stats.

When the wind blows – and it will blow – the players who can control the golf ball will have the advantage this week. The Bentgrass green complexes are almost 6,800 square feet, on average, and provide massive targets that most will hit repeatedly. Flighting wedges and holding shots into the proper quadrants will provide more realistic scoring chances than having approach putts from outside 40 feet.

Jason Day (+2000) , the third choice at BetMGM Sportsbook, posted four rounds in the 60s last year to take home his second trophy in a Byron Nelson event. Winning for the first time on TOUR at TPC Four Seasons in 2011 at 22, the 35-year-old opened with 64 and closed with 62 last year to win on 23-under, the highest winning total from the three editions. With the average winning score registering at 24-under and the highest total to make the cut at 4-under, scores in the 70s this week will likely ensure an early checkout. The Australian posted 70-69 here in 2021, 5-under-par, and went home early. In the 2022 edition, he posted three rounds in the 60s, but a 73 in Round 3 knocked him to 13-under and T53. Yep, 13-under did NOT crack the top 50.

Rounds in the 60s

Dallas native Jordan Spieth (+1600), the betting favorite this week, will look to build on his two excellent performances at TPC Craig Ranch. Appearing in the inaugural edition in 2021, the former Texas Longhorn shared the first-round lead on 63 but posted rounds of 70 and 71 to finish T9. Playing in the final group the following year, his final round 67 could not catch Lee to force a playoff. Posting 43-under in two visits, he has circled 48 birdies and four eagles.

Putting: Birdie or Better Conversion Percentage

Bentgrass greens, the first time in use this season on TOUR outside Augusta National, will only run at 11.5 feet on the Stimpmeter (wind), a perfect speed for holing putts. Paying off the approaches for birdies or saving pars and not losing ground is important in keeping up in a shootout. Over three events at TPC Craig Ranch, the cut has been 4-under or BETTER, and single digits under par after 72 holes did not register a spot inside the TOP 60. The 2022 event produced the most birdies and eagles on TOUR.

Si Woo Kim (+1800) trails Spieth as second choice at the top of the BetMGM odds board. Trying to emulate his countryman’s effort of coming from behind to win the 2022 edition, Kim’s final round 63 last year could not match Day’s 62. Making his fourth appearance in Dallas, the four-time winner on TOUR has never posted a round above par in 10 chances.

Oddsmaker’s extras

Seamus Power (+5000): Making his fourth consecutive start, the Irishman will look to add to his success outside Dallas. Cashing T19 or better on all three visits, he’s the only player in that exclusive club. Posting 70 once in 12 rounds, the other 11 loops were all in the 60s.

Daniel Berger (+10000): The only other player in the field with a podium result, T3 in 2021, the Florida man returns to an event where he’s produced T23 or better in three visits on three different tracks. Playing his way back into form, Dallas has always provided a spark. Posting 64 in 2021 is his best of four rounds in the 60s.

Joseph Bramlett (+10000): Opening with 64 in 2021, the Stanford man began a streak of 12 straight rounds of 70 or better. Posting 48-under par over three visits, he returned to the top 20 (T19) last season after four more rounds in the 60s.

Ryan Palmer (+12500): The Colleyville, Texas, resident joins Spieth and K.H. Lee as the only players to have multiple top-10 paydays in the first three events. After blowing a tire in 2021 with a final round 75, the Colonial Country Club member returned in 2022 to share the 36-hole lead before cashing T5. The 2023 edition saw him improve as he shared the 54-hole lead before a final round 68 caused him to slip to T8. Highlighted by 62 in 2022, 10 of 12 career rounds are 70 or better.

C.T. Pan (+10000): Making his debut for the 2023 edition, he posted four rounds in the 60s, including a career-best 62 on Sunday to secure solo fourth.

Zecheng “Marty” Dou (+25000): Entered this week as sponsor’s exemption, the Dallas resident opened with 63 and posted 64 in Round 3 to share the 54-hole lead last year. Finishing with 67, he dropped to T5, his best payday on TOUR. Everybody needs a long shot!

To help protect the Exchange, the tour has requested all tickets be mobile only and restricted from transfer. This applies to all shows except those in Colorado, Illinois, and New York where Face Value Exchange cannot be mandated. Please note, a valid bank account or debit card within the country of your event is required to sell on the Face Value Exchange. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here .

Neil Young and Crazy Horse 2024 tour setlist: Every song they played at Phoenix concert

horse tour vancouver

Neil Young brought Crazy Horse to Phoenix for the first since 2003, when the Greendale Tour played what we now call Arizona Financial Theatre.

Saturday’s show at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre was in support of "FU##IN’ UP," a new release that captures Young and Crazy Horse in all their ragged glory.

And they treated Phoenix to a show that put the spotlight on the staples that have made Young one of rock ‘n’ roll's most celebrated elder statesmen, setting the tone with an epic performance of “Cortez the Killer” that lasted roughly 15 minutes.

By the time they brought the concert to a cacophonous conclusion with the glorious racket of “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" and a one-song encore of "Danger Bird," Young and Crazy Horse had powered their way through such classics as “Cinnamon Girl,” “Don’t Cry No Tears” and “Powderfinger.”

Young also took a break from the distortion and his bandmates for a three-song unplugged mini-set, including “Comes a Time” and “Heart of Gold,” before the night was through.

Concert review: Neil Young and Crazy Horse scaled heights of ragged glory in transcendent Phoenix concert

Encore:"Danger Bird"

Singer-songwriter superstar Billie Eilish is launching a massive concert tour — with both good and bad news for her Quebec fans.

The Grammy-winning musician will kick off her upcoming tour in Quebec City on Sept. 29 in support of her soon-to-released album  Hit Me Hard and Soft .

But despite moving on to Toronto with shows on both Oct. 1 and 2, Eilish does not have any concerts scheduled for Quebec's most populous city, Montreal.

After her upcoming dates in Toronto, the singer will move on to the United States, before returning to Vancouver on Dec. 3. From there, her tour will continue on to Australia and Europe for the summer of 2025.

Why big artists are performing in fewer Canadian cities

Eilish's last tour,  Happier Than Ever, saw planned dates in both Toronto and Montreal cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though Eilish did return to Montreal in late 2023 for the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival.

The news arrived via Instagram, where Eilish shared album artwork showing the pop singer floating in a body of water after being ejected from a door. In the caption, she wrote that she will not drop singles in advance of the release.

"I wanna give it to you all at once," she captioned the image. "I truly could not be more proud of this album."

  • Concert ticket system is 'broken,' say artists. But some experts say targeting resellers isn't the fix
  • Regina-raised dancer joins army of Kens during performance at the Academy Awards

Eilish worked with her brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, on Hit Me Hard and Soft . The pair recently took home their second Oscar for their big Barbie  ballad What Was I Made For?  In doing so, Eilish, 22, became the youngest person to have won two career Oscars.

Her new album will release on May 17, while tickets for the upcoming concert will go on sale May 3 on Ticketmaster.
