Luxury Travel Design The journey Start here - book & Travel with confidence

Morocco luxury tours a whole new world to explore and fall in love.

Morocco is remarkably diverse. It has many options to blow your mind, whether you're looking to soak up the beauty of the windswept Atlantic coast cities or embark on an expedition over the Atlas Mountains in search of a desert adventure. Luxury Tours Morocco now brings all these experiences to life.

It doesn't matter which corner of Morocco you hit first. From the South to the North, this exotic country fuses traditional heritage sites to revere history, oasis towns, and medinas that mesmerize, with a desert brimming full of adrenalin activities. While Morocco has everything from Berber to European culture, our Morocco travel packages can expose you to all its cultural sides, from medieval to modern.

You can plan your time with many things to do and places to visit or stick to a single itinerary in one of the country's port cities and towns. For example, Rabat,

Casablanca, Essaouira, Tangier, and Agadir, along with other cities, are loved by travelers, and there are many reasons why:

Casablanca, the country's economic cradle, appeals to many. For the most part, it should thank its stunning architecture and exhibitions for that, uncommon in other port cities. But there's more to Morocco tour packages, including Casablanca, as this place can mesmerize you with ocean-view dining spots and thriving surf culture. Marrakesh is no time machine, but this city can easily take you back to the 11th century with its fascinating medina. A journey to this city is often associated with famous Moroccan souks, lush gardens, and relaxing hammams.

No Morocco travel trip is complete without a journey to the Sahara Desert. Sunny and hot, it may not be for the faint of heart who are used to hotel-like amenities during their getaways, but its beauty, tranquility, captivating dunes, and star-filled heavens deserve your attention. As a Morocco tour agency, we can arrange fun-packed itineraries to the blue city of Chefchaouen, one of the most ancient cities of all - Fes, and other country's gems. Some of our packages include a journey to multiple destinations to immerse yourself in the finest cuisine, architecture, hikes, and camel rides. The Morocco tour price will depend on what you expect from your trip, but you can rest assured every dollar you spend in Morocco will be worth it.

What people love about Luxury Tours in Morocco

Our trip to Morocco was truly unforgettable, thanks to Cultural Morocco Tours and the meticulous planning by Abdellatif. From arrival to departure, everything was perfectly organized. Our private tour guide, Fares, was exceptional, showcasing every aspect of Morocco’s beauty and culture. Each day was filled with discovery and adventure, ending with relaxation at carefully selected hotels and riads. One of the highlights was the night we spent in the Sahara Desert. The camel ride to our glamorous tents, the delicious food, and the musical entertainment made it an experience of a lifetime. Don't miss the sunrise in the desert—it's breathtaking! We made so many great memories, and I would definitely recommend Cultural Morocco Tours to my family and friends.
I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. The tour was excellent and so well planned , we were shown so many beautiful scenery and tough so many new things . Not once did I have to worry about traveling from one place to another everything was taking care of . The tour guide , and accommodations was very welcoming and nice , it made me feel very safe and welcome. My first trip to Morocco was one I will never forget till this day I still think about how wonderful it was being there , and I wish I could re-experience and see al the beautiful scenery and the amazing feeling of being in such and extraordinary place . I highly recommend this trip around Morocco , it is absolutely life changing and just wonderful.
Deciding to explore Morocco with Vacations to Go was a fantastic choice. Mustapha and Mohammed arranged an anniversary adventure that exceeded all our expectations! Every moment of our journey, from discovering unique places to experiencing exceptional hospitality, was simply magical. The delicious flavors of Moroccan cuisine and the cozy accommodations in Riads added an extra layer of joy to our experience. We've already recommended Vacations to Go to our loved ones. Thank you for creating such unforgettable memories for us. With gratitude, William and Amelia.

Welcome to Casablanca

Four Seasons Casablanca Hotel - Casablanca, Morocco

Upon arrival, our VIP Services include FastTrack Assistance through all immigration and customs formalities. Once through, we’ll take you to the Four Seasons Casablanca Hotel . Then join your guide to explore this vibrant city. Stand in Mohammed V Square, where French and Moroccan architectural styles blend harmoniously, and marvel at the glorious Hassan II Mosque; its stunning location on a platform that extends over the Atlantic Ocean is complemented by the soaring artistry of its design and the exquisite indigenous materials used in its construction – creamy marble from Agandir, Cedar wood from the Middle Atlas Mountains, and gleaming granite from Tafraoute.   If time permits visit the bustling Central Market, you’ll mingle with city residents who come daily to shop for fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables. Other vendors specialize in fine Moroccan goods that make excellent mementos and gifts, from leather slippers and lanterns to fragrant spices and Argan oil – the famous elixir used in moisturizers, shampoos and even food.   This evening, you’ll enjoy dinner, wine and cocktails at Rick’s Café , an evocative re-imagining of the classic Bogart film.  Meals D

Onward to Rabat and Fès

Riad Fes, Morocco

Depart Casablanca and travel to Rabat c to explore the Oudayas Kasbah, a walled city within the city; founded in the 12th century, it’s still home to 2,000 of Rabat’s citizens. We’ll also see the splendid Mohamed V Mausoleum and marvel at the Hassan Tower, an unfinished but impressive minaret started nearly 1,000 years ago.   Sit down to a delightful lunch and then continue to Fès where you check in to the enchanting  Riad Fès . Located in the medina in the heart of this ancient Imperial City, our luxury retreat evokes the elegance and romance of Morocco’s traditional courtyard palaces.  Meals B+L+D

Meknes c and Volubilis

Journey to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four Imperial cities and capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail, the founder of the Alaouite Dynasty.  Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was originally founded in the 11th century as a military settlement.  Though the monuments have been unexpected closed for renovation, Meknes is still worth a stop.  Renowned for its blending of Spanish and Moorish architectural styles of the 1600’s, Meknes is further distinguished by its high and thick walls - punctuated by gracefully arched gates. We’ll learn about Morocco’s ancient Jewish history as we explore the mellah, the ancient walled Jewish quarter inhabited since the early days of the city.  Then drive to Moulay Idriss, a sacred hilltop city, before continuing to the archaeological site of Volubilis. With finely preserved ruins dating back 2,000 years, this remarkable ensemble of temples, baths, a basilica, brothels and finely preserved mosaic floors offers a unique look into the ancient history of Roman Africa. Return to Fès where the evening is free to relax, enjoy and dine at your leisure.  Meals B+L

Immerse in the Imperial City of Fès

Founded in the 9th century, Fès c is the best preserved medieval city in North Africa. Home to one of the world’s oldest universities, it reached its peak of influence and glory in the 13th and 14th centuries when it replaced Marrakech as the capital of the Kingdom. Although the modern capital was transferred to Rabat nearly 100 years ago, Fès remains the cultural and spiritual heart of the country. Setting out with our engaging guide, today’s sightseeing includes the ancient Medina and two medieval institutions of learning. With their extravagant style, these Madrasas stand in striking contrast to the timeworn cobblestones and simple market stalls of the souks that surround them.   Carpenter’s Square, where artisans still chisel and sculpt indigenous cedar wood, you’ll admire the much-photographed Nejjarine Fountain, famed for its exquisite ceramic mosaics. Also on the day’s program is the Kairaouine Mosque with its graceful 1,000-foot minaret. Founded in the 9th century this is the second largest mosque in Morocco and home to one of the world’s oldest universities.  We’ll interlace our visits with food-tasting experiences to ensure you get the true flavors of Morocco.  Meals B+L

On to Marrakech

Jardin de la Koutoubia - Marrakech, Morocco

After an early breakfast in your hotel, leave Fez and head south, traveling across the cultivated and fertile valleys of Saiss, up to Imouzzer de Kandar with the gorgeous nearby Lake Dait Aoua, and Azrou, a typical Berber town with its flat roofed earth houses. The road goes through magnificent cedar, pine and oak forests. This particularly varied itinerary from north to south offers a diversity of impressions through the Middle Atlas Mountains where nomad shepherds live in black tents and move with their herds of goats and sheep across these mountains in the hot season down to the desert land areas in the winter. As soon as you start seeing the first palm trees of the oasis in the outskirts of Marrakech, you will know that you are not far from the red city of Morocco. Upon arrival, check in to the exceptional Les Jardin de la Koutoubia. Set inside the walls of an 18th century riad, our 5-star property provides a romantic haven in the heart of the ancient medina. Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Explore Imperial Marrakech

Today you’ll enjoy a comprehensive guided exploration of Marrakech c , founded 800 years ago by the Almoravid Dynasty. First you visit the lavishly decorated Saadian Tombs, dating to the late 16th century. The gravestones of these Saadian princes and members of the royal household are embellished simply and elegantly with colorful ceramic tiles, each with a short epitaph and a quote from the Qur’an. The next stop is the Dar Si Said Museum, where fine Moroccan art is exhibited in an exquisite former palace. Continue to the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque and the lovely Bahia Palace, built in 1880.   Then experience the exotic atmosphere of the city’s famed souks; exploring with your guide through this labrynthine maze of shops and vendor stalls, you’ll emerge in lively Djemaa el Fna Square, undoubtedly the heart of the Marrakech medina. Next up, in contrast, is the tranquility of Le Jardin Majorelle – a botanical oasis of rare plants and vibrant blooms – created by a painter and more recently owned by the renowned designer Yves Saint-Laurent. On the roof top of Maison de la Photographie, you’ll enjoy afternoon tea as you take in the breathtaking views over the Marrakech medina.  Meals B+L

Full-day excursion into the Ourika Valley

Leave behind the bustling pace of Marrakech and travel into a tranquil land of olive groves and citrus orchards. As the peaks of the Atlas Mountains draw near, you enter the timeless Ourika Valley. At an innovative Berber cooperative, you’ll observe and learn more about the production of Argan oil – highly prized for its hydrating and beautifying effects. The process from tree to oil is time consuming and done almost entirely by hand. Employing local women, this cooperative is an important community resource and promises an enlightening visit. Dine tonight at one of the finest restaurants in Marrakech.  Meals B+L+D

Tangiers, Chefchaouen + Assilah

4 Days from $1,699

Strategically situated on the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier is the portal to an array of cultures and religions. A 3 night stay includes a trip to Morocco’s fabled Blue City, best known for its brilliantly blue-painted and white-washed buildings. We include roundtrip chauffeured transfers, in-depth private sightseeing, and high-speed train to Casablanca.

Welcome to Tangier

Enjoy our luxury VIP arrival services with personal assistance through immigration and customs formalities before meeting your warm, expert and English-fluent guide for the next four days.  You’ll be chauffeured to your hotel.

Explore Tangier

After a sumptuous breakfast, our guide will begin by leading us through the legendary Kasbah, a fortified hillside enclosure built around a 17 th century royal palace, now a museum with lovely gardens which we’ll visit.  We’ll then descend through the narrow streets of the Kasbah into the ancient Medina to encounter the only U.S. National Historic Site in an overseas location, The American Legation.  The Moroccan Sultan was the first national leader to recognize American Independence in 1777 and provided this extensive mansion as a gift in 1821.  The curator of the building will guide us through its long history and collections before a lunch thoughtfully suggested by your guide.  This afternoon, we’ll drive and stop along the beautiful Mediterranean coast for views to Gibraltar and Spain. The evening is free and your guide will make dining suggestions.  Tangier has an extensive culinary tradition. Meals B

Excursion to Chefchaouen + Assilah

Following breakfast this morning, we head into the picturesque Rif Mountains to the southeast with our guide for the two-hour drive to the blue city of Chefchaouen, with one of the most beautiful Medinas in Morocco.  Formerly a protectorate of Spain, this picturesque town of blue and white wasn’t really known to the world until 1920 when Spanish forces overcame a local warlord.  During World War II, Jews sheltered here and the town became better known.  We’ll be guided through the colorful Medina, its markets and its Kasbah before enjoying lunch and free time afterwards to explore its meandering narrow streets. On-route back to Tangier, we’ll enter Assilah through the Bab el Bahr or Sea Gate, the entry point for successive occupation over the centuries by Romans, Spaniards and Portuguese.  Its seaside bastions, towers and ramparts offer great walking paths and this artistic town has become famous for its annual summer world music festival.  Colorful and fantastic art designs cover many of the walls in Assilah. We’ll return to Tangier in the early evening in time for dinner. Meals B

High Speed Rail to Casablanca

This morning, following breakfast, we’ll be chauffeured to the Tangier Rail Terminal for a two-hour first class ride to Casablanca where we’ll be met and chauffeured to your hotel to begin your tour. Meals B

EXPERIENCE WITH TAUCK

A day of immersion in Berber culture and cuisine, including dining, music, and entertainment under desert tent, and a camel ride

TAUCK VALUE INCLUDES

Lunch in a terraced home in Moulay Idriss near the ruins at Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Lunch at Rick's Cafe in Casablanca, modeled on the one in the film Casablanca

Exclusive dinners in beautiful riads in Fes – rooftop farewell reception (weather permitting) in Marrakech

Choice of a Moroccan cooking class, a photography tour of coastal gem Essaouira, or a pampering hammam spa treatment

SEE WHAT YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

Active components such as hiking, bicycling and walking longer distances may be included, and hills and/or uneven terrain may be encountered on several days. Guests should be able to walk two to three miles and stand for long periods of time with no difficulty.

Often robust – may include long days, active sightseeing, early starts, evening activities, significant travel times.

Experiences of a lifetime

Experience the heart of Morocco, Africa at Europe's doorstep… ancient cities, medinas, kasbahs, and souks… windswept coastline and desert treasures… on a 10-day journey through a timeless land...

Visit the leather tanneries of fes, a trip through time at the ancient leather tanneries of fes.

Like an artist's tray of paints, the huge vats of dyes that decorate the urban landscape around the redolent tanneries of Fes are awe-inspiring... no less than the processes the tanners use to dye and dry leather, virtually unchanged since medieval times. The tanners' tools include water, limestone, pigeon droppings, and their bare feet and hands to knead and dye the leather to its required consistency, which may eventually grace the souks of the medina as exquisite purses and slippers.

Dinner in the desert, Berber-style

Travel by 4x4 vehicle to a berber-style dinner in a desert camp.

In the desert outside Marrakech, ancient Berber villages preserve time-honored folkways and rituals – like the traditional Moroccan tea ceremony – that have survived for centuries. Ride aboard a 4x4 vehicle to one of these villages for tea with the village chief and a crash-course in Berber culture. Then it's on to our desert camp, where dinner is served Berber-style under a tent with musical entertainment. Experience local customs like riding a camel... smoking shisha (using a hubbly-bubbly pipe, or hookah, to smoke flavored tobacco)... or having your hands or feet decorated with traditional henna designs!

Four Seasons Resort Marrakech

Nights 6, 7, 8 and 9

Capturing the magic of Marrakech...

Imagine a place where you can lose yourself in the magic of Marrakech from the comfort of a luxury resort. A place where Moorish gardens surround silvery swimming pools... where jasmine and roses perfume the air... where exotic experiences are part of daily life and where your wish is our pleasure. Imagine Four Seasons Resort Marrakech... where traditional values and contemporary comforts unite.

Tauck filled every day with the variety and culture of the country we enjoy and have come to expect. The architecture was amazing and the food was fabulous!

Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies. PLEASE NOTE that if you are booked on a tour that includes on-tour flights, the checked luggage weight restrictions for these flights may be lower than the weight restrictions for your international flights.

Checked Luggage – General

Due to space restrictions, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one suitcase per person weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kg) and with overall dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 62 inches (158 cm).

Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.

Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.

Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.

Carry-on Luggage - General

Although oversize bags and wheeled, carry-on luggage are popular for airline travel, they are often not convenient or appropriate for motor coach travel. Most modern sightseeing motor coaches offer limited space for numerous or larger items. Space under seats or in the overhead rack is typically small, and designed to accommodate items like coats, hats, purses, and small camera bags, etc.

For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and that you bring only those items you need handy during the day such as make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or on the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.

Health, Safety and Mobility

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

While drinking water is generally safe at all our hotels, bottled water will be available wherever the local water is not fit to drink. We also provide bottled water on the motor coaches.

Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour.

If you have a medical condition that might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify us as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.

VACCINATIONS

If you are a resident of the U.S. traveling internationally, no vaccinations are currently required for travel to Morocco. For complete vaccination and inoculation information, contact your physician, the public health service in your area, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. The Travelers' Health Section of the CDC operates a 24-hour "Travelers' Health Hotline" at 800-232-4636 (toll-free in the U.S.). You may also log on to the CDC website by clicking here .

If you are a resident of another country traveling internationally , please contact an embassy or consulate of each of the countries on the itinerary to determine what vaccinations may be required for you to visit.

To enjoy this active tour, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. Some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. The amount of walking you do, however, is at your discretion. We recommend that you pack sturdy, comfortable walking shoes that have already been broken-in to appreciate fully what Morocco has to offer.

Active components such as hiking, bicycling and walking longer distances may be included, and hills and/or uneven terrain may be encountered on several days. Guests should be able to walk two-to-three miles and stand for long periods of time with no difficulty. Your journey is moderately paced, and may include some early morning hotel departures and extended motorcoach travel.

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that this Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate wheelchairs or motorized scooters. Likewise, we regret that we're unable to provide individual assistance to guests with walking difficulties or other personal needs. The responsibility of the Tauck Director who accompanies your trip is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest. Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS

The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.

Reading List

We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!

You can view the reading list  here.

It's hot and sunny for most of the year in Morocco. During the peak summer months it gets uncomfortably hot especially in Marrakech, Fes and southwest Morocco. Rabat and Casablanca are a bit more comfortable in the peak of summer because they benefit from a cooler ocean breeze.

What To Pack

Your journey is designed with leisure in mind. Dress for comfort and convenience with a wardrobe that is adaptable and allows for layering. Generally, during the day, casual, comfortable, cotton clothing is recommended. Cool weather at higher elevations or at night will require warmer, layered clothing.

As Morocco is a Muslim country, dressing modestly will make both you and the people you meet on your travels more comfortable.  Generally this means covering the shoulders and knees.  Women will need to cover their hair only when we visit the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.  Scarves will be provided on the tour.

We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, a list of the generic names of your medication, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed.

Following is a list of recommended items to pack for your journey to Morocco:

  • Cotton, cotton/synthetic and linen clothing
  • Light weight shirts, pants, capri pants and dresses
  • Light jacket or sweater
  • Jacket and tie and casually-elegant attire for fine dining
  • Comfortable walking shoes that will work well on uneven or cobblestone pavement
  • Shoes will only need to be removed when the tour visits the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.  Please bring at least one pair of socks for this visit.
  • Hat (a wide brimmed hat is recommended)
  • Collapsible umbrella
  • Camera, lenses, batteries, memory cards and chargers
  • Soap leaves, travel packets of tissues, handkerchiefs and hand sanitizer
  • Travel alarm clock/cell phone with alarm function (many hotels do not have clocks in the rooms)
  • Copies of your travel documents that should be secured in the safe in your hotel room while traveling

Please refer to the Necessary Gear website at  www.necessarygear.com  as one option available to you for renting and purchasing apparel, PPEs, and other items appropriate for your journey.

More FAQ about the Morocco Small Group Tours

All desert camps we use on our Signature Morocco tours is a permanent tented camp. We offer different kinds of private tents for each individual, couple, or group depending on your choice. Between these tents is an open communal space with Moroccan carpets and tables where the group eats their meals. There are flush toilets and a shower on-site and a hose for washing.

You won’t need a sleeping bag on our Morocco desert tours as for the most part you’ll be staying in 3-4 star hotels and our desert camp provides all the bedding you need including pillows and blankets.

The camel trek takes about an hour and a half. Also, we can transfer you by our 4WD from and to the camp. If you prefer to walk then you can walk alongside our camel caravan but bear in mind that walking in the sand can be tiring.

On all our desert tours you will be staying in a mix of 4-star modern hotels and traditional Moroccan riads. This gives you a chance to experience the local hospitality and stay in accommodation that reflects the character of Morocco. On our Adventure range of tours in Morocco, the standard of accommodation is equivalent to a Western 3 star.

We use comfortable, 4WD or modern mini-vans with air-conditioning and good-sized windows through which to enjoy the passing views. There is a fair distance to cover in Morocco, especially if you want to see the main highlights. To reach the Sahara the drive time is around 6 to 8 hours, followed by a camel trek to get deep into the surrounding Erg Chebbi dunes.

The longest day of travel is the journey between Marrakech and Erg Chebbi if you didn’t spend one more night in the Dades valley. It’s a full day of driving but thankfully it’s a wonderfully scenic drive with a stop at the lovely alpine-style town of Ifrane located in the High Atlas Mountains.

On our Signature tours, you’ll have the opportunity to wander around what is described as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’. Most other journeys are far shorter and the majority of your days will be spent out and about sightseeing.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to visit Morocco. At these times of the year, you can expect pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

The landscape is particularly lovely in spring when it’s green and lush while autumn provides the best weather conditions for trekking.

Vegetables feature prominently in Moroccan cuisine so vegetarians should have no issues.

The average group size on our Morocco desert tours is between 2-8 travelers depending on the number of reservations at the same date for the same itinerary. As with all of our destinations, you can expect a real mix of ages ranging from those in their 20s to those in their 70s.

Conclusion: Morocco Small Group Tours

Finally, the Morocco Small Group Tours are designed for those who are interested in sharing the transportation with other passengers and not only for those who are on a budget such as students.

Anyhow, these shared group tours can’t replace the private ones no matter how tempting they are, if you could take a private Morocco tour, it is the best option and we highly recommend it. Otherwise, your seat will be on our shared group tours with other travelers (if there is any) with guaranteed departure.

morocco small group luxury tours

Travel with the experts for a carefully curated, value-packed discovery of the world's most iconic destinations. Our tours are bursting with must-see sights, rich experiences and quality inclusions, all at an unbeatable price. Bucket list dreams are ticked off on these all-encompassing journeys.

Day 1 Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival, please make your way to the starting point hotel. Today you can arrive at any time as there are no organised activities until your first meeting tomorrow morning.

Hotel check-in is at 2pm. If you arrive earlier, hotel staff will try to give access to your room as soon as possible; however, should your room not be ready, you are welcome to leave your luggage at reception and explore the surrounding area.

Airport arrival transfers and extra accommodation are available on request. Please let us know at least 65 days prior to departure if you need assistance making these arrangements.

Day 2 Casablanca Tangier

This morning we'll visit one of the most impressive sites in Casablanca – the imposing Hassan II Mosque. Opened in 1993, and second only in size to the great mosque at Mecca, the huge building is part on land and part on sea; in one area water can even be seen through a glass floor. The mosque can accommodate 25,000 worshippers and the main roof is retractable to create an open courtyard. It's one of the only religious sites open to non-Muslims.

Later this morning, you will leave Casablanca and drive to the northern coastal town of Tangier, a place of strategic importance to the Mediterranean and the gateway to Africa from Europe.

This evening is at leisure to explore the labyrinth of alleyways in the medina of Tangier.

Day 3 Tangier Chefchaouen Meknes

After breakfast we’ll travel to Chefchaouen, or the blue city, the centre of a mountainous agricultural region. On arrival, enjoy an orientation walking tour with your leader. Set against a wide valley and nestled between two peaks in the stunning Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen may take you by surprise. It’s picture perfect, with striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs and artistic doorways. Its small but authentic medina has been lovingly cared for and the walled fortress of the kasbah provides a haven in the heart of the city. Wander the tranquil gardens and enjoy the views over the valley from the tower.

Early afternoon, we’ll continue to Meknes, the sixth largest city in the kingdom and former capital of Morocco.

Day 4 Meknes Volubilis Fes

This morning we'll discover the charming streets of Meknes’ medina – the ancient walled section of the city. Enter via the northern gate, the magnificent Bab Berdaine, and walk to the shrine of Moulay Ismail who, in the 17th century, turned Meknes from a provincial town to a spectacular Imperial city. We'll explore the elaborately decorated public buildings hidden in these winding streets, including the royal granary of Moulay Ismail, known as Hri Souani.

Take some time to soak up the bustling atmosphere of Meknes' old souk (market) before driving out of the city to the ancient ruins of Volubilis. Once a provincial Roman capital, Volubilis was a distant outpost of the empire, and the well-preserved archaeological remains make for an impressive sight. Volubilis is the foremost Roman site in Morocco and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Upon arrival we'll take a tour around the ruins with a local guide. Don’t forget to take your camera as the town is filled with fantastic mosaics, many of which remain intact.

After time spent exploring Volubulis and imagining the bustling city it once was, continue on to the living museum of Fes. After checking in to your hotel in the late afternoon, the remainder of the day is free for you to spend as you please.

You may choose to include two optional  Inspiring Sights  throughout your tour, free as part of your package.

Tonight, visit a local family who will serve you some authentic Moroccan dishes. While you eat you’ll learn more about Moroccan hospitality and culture in between bites of delicious food and sips of Moroccan tea.

Starts: approx: 7pm Duration: approx: 2-3 hours

Please note the start and duration times outlined are subject to change based on factors beyond our control such as traffic and weather conditions. Your Tour Guide will confirm operation times with you whilst on-tour and can answer any further questions you may have.

Fes is the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco; vibrant, noisy, fascinating and overwhelming – a true feast for the senses. It is made up of three distinct ‘cities’, or quarters, and we will stay on the edge of the huge, well-preserved medieval old city in elegant,  riad -style accommodation (a riad is a large traditional Moroccan house built around a central courtyard).

Today we'll head into the old city, known locally as Fes el-Bali, arguably the world's most fascinating and confounding old city. Medieval Fes was one of the world's great centres for education and culture, both Islamic and Jewish. Its religious institutions and libraries are legendary, its mosques of great renown. Walk through the twisting streets and alleyways, passing donkeys piled high with goods, and explore the speciality sections that divide the souk. Stalls loaded with fruits, herbs and soups line the passageways; the fragrant smell of spices floods the air; and the sound of metalsmiths hammering at copper can be heard echoing throughout the labyrinthine streets.

Spend the day exploring the old city, visiting Al-Attarine Madrasa (one of the many Islamic schools of higher learning); admiring the leather tanneries with their vast dye-pits in a rainbow of colours; and gazing up at the splendid Funduq al-Najjariyyin, a beautifully restored 18th-century inn.

Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy a memorable dinner of a salty yet sweet  pastilla  (Moroccan pie).

Day 6 Fes Midelt Merzouga

Leave the intensity of the city behind today, for the simplicity of the High Atlas Mountains. Drive south, inland, through a variety of spectacular scenery – fertile valleys, cedar and pine forests and barren, rocky landscapes – to the small town of Midelt. Midelt is a market town, originally built as a base for mining in the area. It's nestled in the high plains surrounding the Moulouya River, between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges, at an elevation of just over 1,500 metres. It's a perfect spot to break up our journey to the Sahara. Many of the locals are of the Berber ethnic group, and the town can offer a rich insight into their way of life. Here we stop and enjoy an  Inspiring Taste  lunch with a local family at their farm for an authentic meal of traditional Moroccan dishes, such as  tagine  (a slow-cooked, savoury stew).

After lunch we'll drive through changing scenery, from barren mountainsides to fertile valleys, on our journey to Merzouga. With a backdrop of the tangerine Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the charming Saharan village of Merzouga feels wonderfully isolated, like the modern world has left it behind. You’ll arrive in Merzouga at the end of the day and be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check-in to your traditional Moroccan riad.

Day 7 Merzouga

The Erg Chebbi is one of the world's most iconic landscapes, with towering dunes up to 150 metres high. Located at the end of a sealed road, and just 20 kilometers from the Algerian border, this wild stretch of land truly feels like frontier country. Leave your large bags at the riad, ready to ride camels into the edge of the Sahara Desert, and enjoy a spectacular sunset along the way. The dunes are stunning, especially as the evening light plays across them and sets the landscape ablaze with colour.

Tonight we'll enjoy an  Inspiring Stay , taking cues from the Berbers and bedding down in a desert camp, with the chance to try some fantastic local cuisine while we sit around an open-air fire. After dinner, lively music, drumming, Berber stories and dancing under the stars await.

Itinerary note - if you do not wish to ride a camel, there is the option to travel to and from the camp by 4WD.

Day 8 Merzouga Todra Gorge Dades Valley

Enjoy a real Lawrence of Arabia moment this morning, with a sunrise camel ride across the desert on the return journey to the riad. From here we'll continue on to the Todra Gorge, a canyon, or  wadi , that rises for more than 250 metres to form one of the most dramatic and spectacular natural sights in Morocco. We'll enjoy a short, yet exhilarating, walk through the narrow orange limestone walls.

Later we'll drive on to the beautiful Dadès Valley, where we'll spend the night. The valley is a popular spot for tourists and spans several kilometres, offering a wide variety of activities for adventurerous types. Tonight's accommodation is a traditional, locally owned, Moroccan kasbah with spectacular views over the Dadès Valley.

Day 9 Dades Valley

Enjoy a full day exploring the beautiful, largely untouched, Moroccan backcountry. Travelling on foot is the best way to get a closer look at the natural landscape and the rural way of life. We'll begin by taking a short transfer to the start of the trek. On the walk you'll pass Berber villages, meeting the incredibly friendly local people along the way. You'll also learn the tea-making secrets of Berbers at an exclusive demonstration with a local family; listen to their stories and discover what family life is truly like in the Dadès Valley.

Day 10 Dades Valley Ait Benhaddou

Today we'll leave the Dadès Valley to set off on the fabled Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. A  kasbah  is a type of keep, or citadel, usually a part of the defensive structure of a city and often where the local leader would reside.

The first stop for us today is the majestic oasis of Skoura, home to several privately owned kasbahs. Here we'll visit Kasbah Amridil, with its extravagant decorations and mud-brick fortifications, before continuing on to Aït Benhaddou, perched on a hilltop and left almost untouched since the 11th century. Aït Benhaddou is one of Morocco's most iconic sites, its grand kasbah one of the most beautiful in Morocco and the fortified village a fine example of clay architecture. If you think you recognise the place, you probably do, as the town has a long list of film and TV credits, including  Lawrence of Arabia ,  Game of Thrones  and  Gladiator . Enjoy a leisurely walk through the winding streets of the old town, making your way to the top of the hill, from where you can enjoy the views across the surrounding plains.

After heading to your nearby hotel for the night, you’ll have the opportunity to sit back on the rooftop terrace and watch the sun set over the magical Kasbah.

Day 11 Ait Benhaddou Marrakech

After breakfast we'll leave Aït Benhaddou to begin our long drive through the winding roads of the Atlas Mountains, bound for Marrakech, an ancient and exotic city laced with European touches. There’s no rush as the scenery through the High Atlas Mountain passes is magnificent, and there will surely be calls for several photo stops along the way.

On arrival in Marrakech you'll check in to your beautifully decorated and cosy riad. This evening you’ll have the opportunity to head to the great square of Jamaa el-Fna, within the medina quarter. When night falls it transforms into a hive of activity: henna artists, snake charmers and storytellers all share the square with street food stalls peddling Moroccan delicacies. Enjoy a Moroccan pastry with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and then finish your day with a cup of tea on one of the rooftop restaurants overlooking the square.

You may choose to include two optional  Inspiring Sights throughout your tour, free as part of your package. Please bear in mind that, due activities' timetables, you can only take part in one activity per day

The art of hammam, a traditional steam bath/bathhouse, is an ancient and integral part of Moroccan life. At the heart of Marrakech medina, enjoy a rejuvenating moment at a traditional Moroccan Riad dedicated to relaxation. Enjoy a private Beldi Hammam including a Moroccan black soap exfoliation.

Starts: approx: 1pm Duration: approx:  1 hour

At the heart of Marrakech medina, enjoy a relaxing massage with Argan oil, which is highly-prized for its culinary and cosmetic uses and is only produced in Morocco.

Starts: approx:  between 3pm-6pm Duration: approx: 45 minutes (plus 15 minute welcoming)

Day 12 Marrakech

Today will begin with a morning tour of the old medina with your local guide, who will take you through the bustling souks that are the lifeblood of the city. Explore tranquil courtyards filled with the scent of orange blossom, and the many salons and chambers that make up Bahia Palace. This splendid property was built in 1866 for a former slave who rose to power within the government. From here we continue to the Maison de la Photographie, housed within a former palace and featuring a fine collection of Moroccan art and sculpture. Next we'll stop by the Koutoubia Mosque; its famous minaret (a tower with a balcony from which a muezzin calls Muslims to prayer), is the prototype for others of its kind around the world, including La Giralda in Seville. From here we then walk back through the streets of the old medina to the Jamaa el-Fna, the main square of Marrakech.

The rest of the day is yours: explore further, relax back at the riad or go shopping in the souk. Perhaps you’ll visit the tropical gardens of the French painter Jacques Majorelle, or check out the ruins of the Palais Badi, long known as one of the most beautiful palaces in the world. Otherwise, head back into the medina, where every step brings a new scent or sight. Watch skilled artisans perfect their craft, practice your haggling skills or take a break from the hustle to sip on tea or share a tajine. For your final evening, feast with new friends in one of the many great restaurants lining the square.

Today enjoy a cooking class at the the legendary restaurant at La Maison Arabe where you will use modern equipment found in everyday kitchens. At the end of each workshop, you will dine on the meal you have prepared. At a typical half-day workshop, one learns to prepare an appetizer and a main dish, or a main dish and dessert. The workshops are conducted by a dada (traditional Moroccan cook) or a chef.

Starts: approx: 2.45pm  Duration: approx: 3 hours

Join your local guide to show you how Moroccan shopping is done! On this tour, you’ll visit hidden stalls, shop for real-deal souvenirs like leather, lamps, shoes, carpets, spices, and argan oil, and learn to haggle like a true Marrakech insider.

Starts: approx: 2pm Duration: approx: 3 ½ hours

Day 13 Marrakech Essaouira

After breakfast this morning we'll head for Essaouira, a city where the medina brushes up against the Atlantic Ocean, where we'll spend the next two nights. The narrow streets of Essaouira discourages cars, meaning it's an ideal city to explore on foot. Sandstone walkways contrast with whitewashed houses, the bright blue sky and the sand of the surrounding beaches and dunes. Surely one of North Africa's most attractive destinations, you'll soon find yourself slipping into the easy-going pace of this Moroccan town with a European seaside twist. The fishing port is a serious commercial operation and there’s much fun to be had observing the daily catch and its subsequent auction. Elsewhere there are numerous shops and several fine art galleries to distract you, along with a wide variety of restaurants. Your tour leader will help guide you through the maze of options. This evening you might like to indulge in a luxuriating massage and hammam in a local spa.

Day 14 Essaouira

This artists' town was once home to sizeable British and Jewish populations, and its charm has seduced the likes of Orson Welles and Jimi Hendrix, who (according to local legend) spent much of his time here in the 1960s.

On this free day perhaps grab a traditional Moroccan breakfast and wander the streets, giving way to the cart-haulers calling "balak, balak" (meaning, 'excuse me'). Pass the harbour, filled with colourful boats, and witness camels and surfers sharing the beach.

For lunch your guide will take you to the fish souk for our second  Inspiring Taste . Here you'll choose your own freshly caught fish before taking it to a restaurant packed with locals – following your guides lead, hand over your market purchase for it to be grilled. Your guide will also take you to the fruit and vegetable market, where you'll choose the salads and veggies to accompany your seafood lunch. Enjoy this delicious meal together with the rest of your group.

Take the rest of the day to explore the medina; discover the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum and its collection of artifacts, woodwork, carpets and stringed instruments; enjoy café life on the main square; or sit back and watch the kitesurfers ride the crashing waves. You can also discover the taste of Morocco in a cooking class, or head outside of the city to the beautiful surroundings on a day trip.

Day 15 Essaouira Casablanca

Today we'll travel to Casablanca for your last night in Morocco. Tonight enjoy our last Inspiring Taste experience at the Humphrey Bogart-inspired Rick’s Café, with some drinks included to help celebrate your last night in Morocco. While it is not the actual bar used for the movie (that was in a studio in Hollywood) it has been recreated to allow you to imagine that you could be an extra on set in the famous movie.
