The Red Hot Summer Tour is an annual series of multi-artist events that tours Australia wide including spectacular regional locations and local destinations. Series one hosts a massive line-up including ,  The Living End, Birds of Tokyo, Pete Murray, Kasey Chambers,  and  Mahalia Barnes & The Soul Mates!  With some recent changes due to  Jimmy Barnes  health concerns.

Jimmy said,  “I’m going to be working hard to get back to full strength over the next few months so I can get back on stage for you in April and join my friends from The Living End and Birds of Tokyo as well as Pete, Kasey and Mahalia & The Soul Mates on stage in the Hunter Valley, Launceston and Bendigo.”

See FAQs below for more details.

With another spectacular announcement, Red Hot Summer Tour is bringing a second series of shows to Australia in 2024 with a mega-line-up co-headlined by  Simple Minds  and  ICEHOUSE  with  Noiseworks, Daryl Braithwaite,  and  Bachelor Girl.

The Living End are an Australian punk rock band formed in 1994. Since 2002 the line-up consists of Chris Cheney, Scott Owen and Andy Strachan. The band rose to fame in 1997 after the release of their double A-sided single, “Second Solution” / “Prisoner of Society”. They have released eight studio albums and have had two No. 1 debuts on the Australian Albums Aria Chart.  They have also gained chart success in the United States and United Kingdom.  The Living End are one of Australia’s most ferocious live acts, consistently headlining festivals around the country. Their blistering live performances have earned the band an enviable position of one of Australia’s greatest live bands.

Birds of Tokyo have grown from independent roots to become one of this country’s most popular rock bands.  The Perth five piece have released three chart topping albums driven by top 10 hits like ‘Good Lord’, ‘Plans’, ‘Unbreakable” and ‘Lanterns’.  One of Triple J’s three most played artists of this millennium, they are also the only artist in history to win ‘Rock Work of the Year’ on five separate occasions at the APRA Awards. Having performed twice at the AFL Grand Final and the NRL’s “State Of Origin”, and toured as special guests for everyone from Muse and Bon Jovi to Midnight Oil and Cold Chisel, Birds Of Tokyo’s songs have become a soundtrack for contemporary Australia.

Multi-platinum selling Pete Murray has released 7 albums and 2 EPs over an impressive career and is one of only a few Australian artists with over 1.2 million album sales under his belt, receiving 17 ARIA nominations throughout his career. Murray’s first three albums all reached #1 on the Australian music charts and his first album FEELER reached number 1 and remained in the Top 100 for two and a half years. BEST OF is a collection of Murray’s most popular singles of the past 20 years.

There’s a moment in most artists’ young lives when they realise music will shape their future and define who they are. Kasey Chambers didn’t have to wait for that moment to arrive. Music is part of her DNA. The Captain (1999) remains one of the most extraordinary and lauded debuts by an Australian artist in any genre. Songs such as the title track, ‘Cry Like a Baby’ and ‘These Pines’ boast a maturity beyond her years and a wealth of Americana-styled musical influences, yet the album has Australia and family at its core, ingredients that have been a staple of Kasey’s songwriting ever since then. Greater success was to follow. Barricades & Brickwalls (2001), Kasey’s second album, broke more ground, winning best album at the 2002 ARIAs and landing her at the top of the pop charts in Australia and the third album, Wayward Angel (2004) was another monster success, going straight to No.1 in Australia and producing a string of singles. Further successful albums followed with Carnival (2006), Rattlin’ Bones (2008), Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill and the Little Hillbillies (2009), Little Bird (2010), and Storybook .

Born into Australian rock royalty and influenced by the music her father, Jimmy Barnes, recorded and played, Mahalia naturally began singing at a very young age. As an artist, she’s drawn to guitar-driven gutsy soul, rock and blues, and is inspired by acts like Ike and Tina Turner and legendary queen of soul Aretha Franklin.

Before the pandemic shut down so much of the live performance industry, Mahalia Barnes  and The Soul Mates toured Australia non-stop, playing supports for the likes of US hip hop greats The Roots, Lionel Richie, UK singer James Morrison and gospel/soul legend Mavis Staples, as well as playing festivals and headline shows of their own.

Red Hot Summer Tour

We often travel to The Hunter Valley for our all day outdoor concerts so this was our first visit to this venue. Lovely scenic spot in busy suburbia. We set up our spot, camp chairs/picnic rugs, ready to rock out to some great music. Shade available if needed. The venue was well set up with the wait times pretty much non existent (straight to the bar/merch/snacks) Security and venue workers were all pleasant and respectful. We were allowed small eskys with food and (sealed) water. Great venue and we are definitely planning to see more gigs here. It gets pretty hot so wide brim hat and plenty of sunscreen. Would be a nice place to relax, have a picnic and bring your kids when its not a music concert day. Great Concert Venue!

This farm is for ghost hunters. You explore a pitch black house with the different machinery that you are supplied with. Go into the loft and use the tipping tables and lastly (if your game) sit in a room for 5 minutes by yourself, blindfolded with a pair of head phones on. The cost includes a BBQ.

Historical colonial regional property. Wonderful to see history preserved so well. It is difficult to preserve history in such a young country as Australia, so much has been lost to progress. This property is an exception to the rule and well worth visiting on open days.

Went to have a look at the farm, bbq and have a picnic with the kids. From the car park the farm appeared closed so we didn’t go in (google said it would be open but pretty sure it wasn’t). Decided to still use the bbq area and picnic nearby but the spot was just boring, not a great picnic spot by any means. Won’t bother with the farm again. Just disappointing.

Went here to watch the Ret Hot Summer Tour, featuring bands like Moving Pictures, Baby Animals, The Angels, Screaming Jets and Suzi Quatro. The crowd was capped at 5,000, so well done to the organisers as this amount of people was just perfect. There were virtually no queues for food and drink. A totally outdoor venue where events like this go ahead rain, hail or shine. 12pm - 9pm, a great day out with friends listening to some great music. BYO chair, rug, sealed bottle water and snacks. Depending on the event, alcohol is served, but generally mid strength beer and mid strength spirits, and normal wine but smaller servings (187ml). Parking onsite but as we lived locally, we walked to the event. Sunscreen and a hat is a must in the warmer months. Give this event location a go..

Visited here when they had a family day on that was great fun. Great tour around the old farm house, full of history.

RED HOT SUMMER TOUR announce SERIES 3 featuring SUZI QUATRO and CHEAP TRICK

15 October 2023 The Rockpit

red hot summer tour bella vista parking

RED HOT SUMMER   TOUR is thrilled to announce the next series of dates for the 2024 season from one of Australia’s most sought-after summer festivals.  These iconic outdoor shows will take place in various locations across the country, and for series three, this star studded-line-up will feature SUZI QUATRO taking centre stage, playing with international juggernauts CHEAP TRICK, alongside Aussie favourites Jon Stevens, The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets , and Chocolate Starfish .

The undisputed Queen of Rock, SUZI QUATRO, will be returning for her 38 th tour of Australia to headline this next series. Audiences have always loved when she is part of RED HOT SUMMER TOUR.   There are few female performers who have a career as successful and versatile as SUZI QUATRO .  After decades of accomplishments, it’s no surprise to find out that she has never stopped working in one guise or another, whether it is playing her solo rock show to packed houses, hosting her own show on the BBC Radio 2, performing on the West End or penning hit songs. To date, this enigmatic performer has sold over 55 million records, in fact, for a seven-year period in the 1970s she was featured in the British charts for an incredible 101 weeks.  Her hits include ‘The Wild One’, ‘48 Crash’, ‘Devil Gate Drive’, ‘She’s in Love with You’ and ‘If You Can’t Give Me Love’ to name a few.

In 2019, the world saw the release of her documentary, SUZI Q , and it topped the Amazon charts around the globe.  In August this year, she released ‘Face To Face’, her duet album with KT Tunstall which has had huge success.  It picked up ‘album of the year’ presented by Jools Holland, album of the week on BBC Radio 2 and over half a million plays in the USA.  It’s been critically acclaimed and charted in many countries around the world.  This year marks the 50 th Anniversary of ‘Can the Can’ being No. 1 and SUZI will mark the occasion with 5 special shows in the UK.

With over 5,000 performances spanning four decades and 20 million records sold worldwide, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers CHEAP TRICK are undoubtedly one of the most influential classic rock groups of the past 50 years. Celebrating their 50th anniversary next year, the band was formed in 1974 by guitarists Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson , and drummer Bun. E Carlos. One year later, Robin Zander joined the group. The current lineup consists of Nielsen, Petersson and Zander. Daxx Nielsen, son of Rick Nielsen, is now the band’s current drummer and Robin Taylor Zander, son of Robin Zander, joins as a member when the band tours. While it has evolved throughout the years, CHEAP TRICK has continued to reach mainstream and critical success. Hits such as ‘The Flame’, ‘Dream Police’, ‘I Want You To Want Me’ and ‘Surrender’ have cemented the group as one of America’s top rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time. They released their 20th studio album, In Another World, in April 2021.

Jon Stevens is recognised as one of the most talented rock musicians to emerge from Australia in recent memory. He has had phenomenal success as a solo artist, and was also the lead singer of major rock acts Noiseworks , INXS , and  Dead Daisies .  His career has gone from strength-to-strength: a record-smashing debut at age 16 with two consecutive No. 1 singles in his New Zealand homeland. He also enjoyed huge hits in Australia as lead singer with Noiseworks. Stevens 21st-century liftoff to worldwide acclaim was at centre stage with INXS, and a song released by Dead Daisies which he co-wrote and produced with the legendary Slash on guitar. Ringo Starr plays the drums on the lonely ballad ‘One Way Street’ and ‘Something Bout You’ features the vocals of Vanessa Amorosi. Australian rock band Noiseworks released ‘Heart & Soul’ on August 15th, 2022, as the lead single from their new studio album ‘Evolution’.  The single album came as a long-awaited gift to Noiseworks fans who had been thirsting for new music from the iconic rockers for 30 years.

Crowd favourites, The Angels , will see former drummer Nick Norton taking centre stage as their new front man replacing Dave Gleeson after his 12 years in the role.  With a set-list of catalogue classics that are ingrained in the hearts of every Australian rock fan, it is no wonder that the famous American critic David Fricke called The Angels “a guaranteed great time anywhere”.  As Ian McFarlane, the author of The Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop , noted: “ The Angels helped re-define the Australian rock tradition.” And now John Brewster, Rick Brewster, Sam Brewster, Tom Brewster and Nick Norton are giving it another twist.  Let the night roll on!

It has been 30 years since one of Australia’s most revered rock bands,  Baby Animals , burst onto the scene with the release of their 8x Platinum, ARIA Award winning, self-titled debut album, featuring iconic hits ‘Rush You’, ‘Early Warning’, ‘Painless’ and ‘One Word’.   The band was touring with Van Halen in the US when they heard the album had topped the charts, ‘Baby Animals’ spending six weeks at number one in Australia and keeping Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ out of top spot. The album went eight times platinum and won three ARIA Awards – Best Album, Best Debut Album and Best Debut Single. It was also declared one of the Top 25 albums of 1992 in UK rock bible Kerrang!, and Baby Animals performed ‘Painless’ on Late Night With David Letterman.  They later appeared in The 100 Best Australian Albums, and Suze DeMarchi was also featured in the book Rock Chicks, The Hottest Female Rockers from the 1960s to Now.

Originating from Newcastle, The Screaming Jets have been an enduring force in the Australian music scene for over three decades, releasing 10 studio albums and some of Australia’s most iconic rock songs. Fronted by the incomparable Dave Gleeson , a rock legend whose powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence have left an indelible mark on the Australian music scene, inspiring generations of fans with his raw talent and unwavering dedication to the music he loves. With over 200 live shows nationally under their belts before they had even secured their first record deal, the release of The Screaming Jets’ debut album   All For One   in 1991 grabbed us all by the scruff of our necks and gave our ears a red hot shake!  It peaked at #2 on the ARIA charts and the second single from the album,  Better   was the song that introduced the band to the world and saw them embark on their first world tour – to Europe, UK, USA and Canada.  The rest is history, the Jets firmly entrenched as one of this country’s most beloved and respected rock bands. Demonstrating the band’s enduring popularity, the 2021 / 30 th   anniversary edition of   All For One   landed straight back into the ARIA Albums Chart at #4, also topping the charts as #1 vinyl album. The band has just released their tenth studio album, Professional Misconduct, following the devastating passing of founding member Paul Woseen.

Chocolate Starfish are the epitome of a concert party! Fronted by the enigmatic Adam Thompson , the band is known for their high energy live performances. With songs like Four Letter Word , Mountain , and You’re So Vain , Chocolate Starfish powered onto the Australian music scene in the 1990s and quickly secured themselves a space as an influential force. They produced two Top 10 albums and six Top 50 singles.

Bella Vista Farm will be red hot this summer

Published on 09 August 2019

Red Hot Summer Tour.jpg

The return of the Red Hot Summer Tour to Bella Vista Farm in 2020 marks Council’s success in turning the much-loved community facility into a cultural entertainment hub.

“Council’s goal has been to turn The Farm into a venue that can be enjoyed by everyone,” Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said.

“We’ve invested in The Farm to ensure it becomes a destination that is favoured by Hills residents for generations to come and by generating a revenue that can in turn be invested back into The Farm to upgrade the homestead and utilities.

“Council is pleased to see events and festivals like the Red Hot Summer Tour using this wonderful facility.

“It shows Council’s goal of activating this site has been well and truly achieved.”

The Red Hot Summer Tour will return to The Farm on Sunday, February 16, 2020.

The festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a huge line-up of Aussie rock acts, including Hunters and Collectors, James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera.

RED HOT SUMMER TOUR (SERIES THREE) UNVEILED

  • Greg Phillips
  • October 15, 2023

red hot summer tour bella vista parking

Her hits include ‘The Wild One’, ‘48 Crash’, ‘Devil Gate Drive’, ‘She’s in Love with You’ and ‘If You Can’t Give Me Love’ to name a few.

red hot summer tour bella vista parking

Crowd favourites, The Angels , will see former drummer Nick Norton taking centre stage.

This week the band released their tenth studio album, Professional Misconduct, following the devastating passing of founding member Paul Woseen. The album has yet again hit the top of the ARIA Album Chart at No. 3, as well as No. 1 Vinyl Chart and No. 1 Australian Artist Album Chart.
