Swift recently made history by becoming the first artist with the entire top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also broke Spotify records with her latest album, Midnights, as it was the most streamed album in a single day, making Taylor the most-streamed artist in a single day in all of Spotify history.

She’s always stopped by Soldier Field on her tours, from Red in 2012 to Reputation in 2018, and back in 2015, she made history as the first solo female artist to perform two consecutive sold-out nights on the 1989 World Tour.

If you’re looking to enjoy Swifts music before she arrives in Chicago, now is the perfect time to attend a Taylor Swift Candlelight Concert and hear her music live by firelight.

soldier field tours 2023

CHICAGO — Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is headed to Chicago — are you ready for it?

The megastar is scheduled to shake it off Friday-Sunday at Soldier Field, performing a three-hour retrospective of her 10-album discography with essentially no breaks. OWENN and girl in red will open the show Friday and Saturday, while MUNA and Gracie Abrams will kick off the festivities Sunday.

Swifties following the tour so far know all too well that planning ahead of time is crucial — from executing the best bejeweled outfit to figuring out transportation, bag policies and more.

Don’t have a cruel summer. Check out these tips and tricks to making your Eras Tour experience at Soldier Field live up to your wildest dreams.

Parking lots open 2 p.m., the doors to the show open 4:30 p.m. and opening acts take the stage about 6:30 p.m.

Based on the tour schedule so far, Taylor Swift tends to start her portion of the show about 7:50 p.m., and the set typically ends 11:15-11:30 p.m.

Getting there

By car: Major roadways like I-55, I-90, I-90/94, and I-290 all lead directly to Soldier Field. Get specific directions here . Parking is very limited near Soldier Field, but you can reserve a spot in advance through the venue’s website. Lots vary in proximity to the stadium. Currently, rates for the event range from $15-$85, plus fees, when bought ahead of time.

Shuttle service for the event will also be provided from the Millennium Park Garage and McCormick Place Lot B. The shuttle will run beginning at 4 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.

By public transportation: Concertgoers would be wise to use the city’s public transportation systems to get to and from the stadium.

Swifties heading in from rural towns or the suburbs can use Metra and Amtrak trains to get to Downtown. Passenger trains will arrive at either Union Station or Ogilvie Transportation Center , depending on the train line. From there, attendees will need to either hail a taxi, summon a rideshare service or take the No. 130 Museum Campus bus. At Union Station, the rideshare pickup location is at Canal Street and Adams Street.

Concertgoers coming from the south suburbs can take the Metra Electric line to 18th Street, which drops off passengers just steps from Soldier Field.

Attendees can also take the CTA Red, Green or Orange Line trains to the Roosevelt Station, which drops riders off about 0.75 miles from the venue — about a 20-minute walk to the stadium. Alternatively, the No. 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express picks passengers up from the Roosevelt Station and drops them off at Soldier Field.

Travel tip: Park your vehicle at a Metra or Amtrak parking lot — or in a Chicago neighborhood — and take a train or bus to the stadium to avoid traffic and parking complications.

Taking the 146 bus from the Roosevelt Red Line, as well as just walking from the Roosevelt Red line.

Walking from the Roosevelt Station to Soldier Field.

By rideshare or taxi: People taking Ubers, Lyfts, or taxis to the show will be dropped off at the 18th Drive turnaround, which is just west of the stadium. There is a pedestrian walkway that leads directly to Soldier Field.

Rideshare/taxi drop-off at the 18th Drive turnaround just west of Lake Shore Drive. Also where 18th Street Metra is.

By bike: Bike racks are near Gate 14, by the Children’s Garden and behind the Kennedy Bas Relief. Bring a solid lock.

Tailgating at Soldier Field is allowed, with certain rules .

Traffic post-show will be chaotic; have patience.

Make sure to check Metra and Amtrak train times in advance, as many trains don’t run past 1 a.m. However, the CTA Red Line runs all night, though service tends to be more limited overnight.

If you are taking an Uber, Lyft or taxi after the show, the designated pickup area is at Balbo and Columbus drives for the first hour after the show. After one hour, rideshare pickup can be called to the stadium.

Travel tip: If you plan to use a Metra or CTA train or bus line, download the Ventra app (or download the Amtrak app for Amtrak trains) in advance and buy tickets there so you won’t have to wait in long lines at the stations.

Soldier Field abides by the NFL’s clear bag policy, which states the following:

  • Only a clear, 12-by-6-by-12-inch bag is allowed. This is important, since the stadium won’t let any other kind of bag in. Fortunately, a quick Internet search will yield plenty of clear, concert venue-approved bags, since this policy is pretty standard now at large arenas.
  • A 1-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, like a Ziplock, is also allowed.
  • In addition to a clear plastic bag, a small clutch bag is OK. However, it can’t be bigger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches.
  • If you do bring a prohibited style of bag, you can check it at lockers at the 18th Street Turnaround south of the venue along the walkway after passing through the tunnel under Lake Shore Drive.
  • Diaper bags aren’t allowed, so diapers must be brought in within a clear bag, and one bag is allowed per person, including children.

Swifties know one of the biggest aspects of this tour has been acquiring merchandise. Fans can stop by Soldier Field before the concert for early merch sales 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and starting noon on show days. Early merch stands will be outside Gates 3 and 4, along the sidewalk north of the Waldron Deck and at the Stadium Green.

You can also stay up to date with Swift’s merch truck by following @taylornation on Instagram, where you’ll likely get a notification asking if you’d like to join a broadcast channel. That channel will send direct messages to followers with information regarding the timing and location of the tour-themed merch bus.

However, there will also be merchandise stands throughout the stadium.

Tickets waiting at Will Call can be found at the large ticket booth across from Gate 10. A photo ID with a name matching the ticketholder’s is required for pickup.

What not to bring

According to Soldier Field, the following items are prohibited:

  • Water bottles
  • Standard purses
  • Fanny packs
  • Diaper bags
  • Mace/pepper spray
  • vVdeo/movie cameras
  • Confetti (don’t worry; it will be provided)

Smoking policy

It’s probably best to keep the lavender haze at home — smoking cigarettes, including e-cigarettes and vaping devices, are prohibited in the stadium, and Soldier Field doesn’t allow re-entry.

Helpful tips

Banners and signs are allowed, but they can’t obstruct the view of others or include any profanity, advertising or political slogans.

Want a better view? Standard binoculars are fine to bring, and cameras (without a case) are also OK. However, your camera must have a 6-inch or smaller lens.

Trying to decide what to wear? This tour has become known for fans’ expressive outfits; just make sure they don’t obstruct any views. And if you’re thinking of showcasing your best cosplay for “The Man,” leave the briefcase at home; it’s not allowed inside. Also make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the show lasts over three hours.

A cardigan may also be helpful, as the current forecast shows temperatures in the 70s. However, in Chicago, the weather can change at a moment’s notice, so make sure to keep checking the forecast.

Attendees may also want to opt for a poncho, as Swift has played at least two shows during rainstorms so far.

In Nashville, one show was delayed by a thunderstorm for about 4 hours before Swift took the stage to perform into the wee hours of the morning. The show at Soldier Field is expected to go on regardless of sunshine or midnight rain.

Rolling Stones Tap Cool Country & Roots Openers for 2024 Tour

soldier field tours 2023

The Rolling Stones are headed to North America this summer to tour behind their new album Hackney Diamonds , and they’re tapping a bunch of cool openers from the country and roots world, giving these performers massive opportunities in front of huge stadium crowds. This includes Tyler Childers, who will take time from his own massive Mule Plow ’24 tour to open for the rock and roll legends on June 3rd in Orlando, Florida. Perhaps Childers doesn’t need the boost. But it is cool to see that Mick Jagger and The Stones are paying attention to what’s happening in country beyond corporate radio playlists. The Red Clay Strays will most certainly take the boost. As one of the fastest-rising acts in all of roots music at the moment, their Sun Records-era sound is sure to go over well when they open the show for The Stones in Foxboro, Mass. on May 30th. Same goes for the soul country sounds of the surging duo The War & Treaty, who continue to receive opportunities from their fellow artists if nobody else. They recently received a big signal boost via their collaboration with Zach Bryan on the song “Hey Driver.” They will be opening the July 10th show in L.A. for The Stones at SoFi Stadium. And Lainey Wilson might be the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, but she is sure to pick up some new fans when she performs on June 30th in Chicago opening for The Stones at Soldier Field. Other names from the roots world like Gary Clark Jr., Ghost Hounds, And Betty LaVette have also received opening slots.

I’ve got tickets for Santa Clara!

I’ve got no tickets but I have Conrad’s “Being Human” to console me. Lovely tune, Conrad.

Thanks, pal!

Whiskey Myers opened for them in Chicago last time through. Over the years the stones have showed a lot of respect for country music. Amazing legendary career.

' src=

…by the time lainey wilson opens for the stones her new album will most likely have dropped. some character test there in chicago. will she be sticking to her origins or trying to adopt to the occasion and expectations there at soldier field? looking forward to learn about that and her new album.

even for a country superstar in the making opening for the rolling stones ain’t peanuts. let’s just hope the senior citizens from england stay healthy till then.

' src=

I know it’s only rock-n-roll, That’s why they bring in country, country, country… Yes they do…

' data-tf-not-load src=

Even though the age of the Stones and much of their audience makes it a logical partnership, it’s still amusing to see “sponsored by AARP” on the poster of a major rock tour.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Real respects real

' data-tf-not-load src=

The Stones country and country adjacent songs and albums is some of the best music there is.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Yes, Mick, Keith and company have done a lot of C&W oriented things in their six-plus decades, going all the way back to 1964, when they recorded Hank Snow’s “I’m Movin’ On” (itself a surefire candidate for the “perfect country-and-western song”), and on through “Wild Horses”, “Sweet Virginia”, “Dead Flowers”, and the truly off-kilter “The Girl With Far Away Eyes”. A lot of this would have put a lot of the so-called country music of just ten years ago to shame, as well it should.

Of course, it is a testament that they’re still around even after all those decades of debauchery and self-abuse…but you knew that already (LOL).

' data-tf-not-load src=

I’m convinced Gram Parsons had a lot to do with their respect of Country.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Great to see War and Treaty as one of the openers. They will win new fans with their terrific show. The country music openers has to be good for country music and those artists. Well done to the Rolling Stones.

' data-tf-not-load src=

“Dead Flowers and Wild Horses” might be a fun Mick/Laney mashup. Then again, it might not. I’ll just keep quiet now.

' data-tf-not-load src=

With Panic in Denver! That’s right before Panic’s yearly run at Red Rocks. That would be awesome to see them with the Stones.

' data-tf-not-load src=

@savingcountrymusicnews.com – Kudos to AARP for sponsoring the Rolling Stone’s 2024 Hackney Diamonds Tour. Next, a Rod Stewart tour sponsored by AARP will also be good and perhaps, even better than The Rolling Stone’s

' data-tf-not-load src=

The Rolling Stones are the most OVERRATED glob of “entertainers” the world has produced in the last sixty-plus years. If you REALLY need to lose weight, then listen to their live performance in Austin a number of years ago of “Bob Wills Is Still the King.” You will hurl all the contents of your guts and not be able to eat anything for at least a couple of weeks.

' data-tf-not-load src=

“The greatest rock n roll band in the world” hahaha. They should have called it a day when Brian Jones died.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Last time I saw the Stones in Seattle, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real was the opener along with Lucius. They put on a great show. The previous time was Dave Matthews Band.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Caleb Williams is officially a member of “Da Bears.”

On Thursday, April 25, the Chicago franchise selected the Heisman Trophy-winning USC quarterback with the first pick in the NFL Draft.

Williams joins a Bears team that went 7-10 in 2023; in order to bolster their roster heading into 2024, coach Matt Eberflus’ squad added Pro Bowlers D’Andre Swift and Keenan Allen over the offseason.

With all the new talent in the clubhouse — along with 2023 standouts wide receiver D.J. Moore, and tight end Cole Kmet — Chicago looks to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

And if you want to be there to root the new-look squad on at Soldier Field , you can pick up tickets for all hypothetical home games as soon as today.

Although the schedule isn’t technically set yet, the team has announced they will play rivals like the Detroit Lions , Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings on their home gridiron.

Based on our findings, prices for home games start anywhere from $131 to $227 before fees on Vivid Seats at the time of publication.

The churches inside the Moscow Kremlin are the Cathedral of the Dormition, Church of the Archangel, Church of the Annunciation, and the bell tower of Ivan Veliki (a church tower).

The five-domed Cathedral of the Dormition is considered the most famous. It was built from 1475–1479 by an Italian architect and has served as a wedding and coronation place for great princes, tsars, and emperors of Russia. The interior of the church surprises most people when they visit. In contrast to the large exterior, the inside is not so much one large area, but rather a collection of smaller areas, with many corridors and small rooms. There are 9 small chapels and one mausoleum grouped around a central tower.

Visiting the inside is like walking through a maze, there are even small signs all around the cathedral tracing where to walk, and pointing you in the right direction! The walls are meticulously decorated and painted with intricate floral designs and religious themes.

Whether you’re spending one day in Moscow, or more, safety is an important thing to keep in mind when traveling to a big city! Overall, Moscow is a very safe place to visit. However, it is always recommended that tourists take certain precautions when traveling to a new destination!

The police in Moscow is extremely effective at making the city a safe place to visit and do their best to patrol all of the top Moscow, Russia tourist attractions. However, tourists can still be a target for pickpockets and scammers.

Moscow has a huge flow of tourists, therefore there is a risk for pickpocketing. Simple precautions will help eliminate your chances of being robbed. Stay vigilant, keep your items close to you at all times, and don’t flash your valuables!

If you’re planning a solo Moscow itinerary, you should have no need to worry, as the city is also considered safe for solo travelers, even women. Stay in the populated areas, try and not travel alone late at night, and never accept rides from strangers or taxis without a meter and correct signage.

The threat of natural disasters in Moscow is low, with the exception of severe winters when the temperature can dip below freezing! Bring a good, warm jacket if you visit in Winter.

However, please note that Russian views on homsexuality are far less accepting than those in Western Europe. Likewise, Non-Caucasian travellers may sadly encounter racism in Russia .

Bettye LaVette and Lainey Wilson will join the group's /24 Hackney Diamonds tour as guest artists for the June 27 and June 30 shows.

“I’ve been waiting for them to call for 60 years. They finally found my number” LaVette said in a statement.

The move isn't surprising given that LaVette has recorded The Stones “Salt of the Earth” and “Complicated," and Keith Richards plays guitar on her versions of “It Ain’t Me Babe” and “Political World."

Meanwhile Wilson, a Grammy-awar winning singer-songrwiter who also stars in the hit series Yellowstone, has been hailed for defying the norms of the country music genre.

The Chicago stops on the Stones tour come as an added bonus for fans. Originally the band only scheduled one stop at Soldier Field, but added a second "due to overwhelming demand."

The tour comes on the heels of the band's newest album, the first in 18 years to contain a dozen original songs and the first album the band recorded without drummer Charlie Watts , who died in 2021.

According to the 16-city tour announcement, fans can can expect "to experience Mick, Keith and Ronnie play their most popular hits ranging from 'Start Me Up,' 'Gimme Shelter,' 'Jumpin’ Jack Flash,' 'Satisfaction' and more, as well as fan favourite deep cuts and music from their new album HACKNEY DIAMONDS."
