Attempting to Make Remote Sense of ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Time-Turning Twist

The final episodes of Star Wars Rebels have already brought with them some shocking reveals , but few with such mind-boggling implications as this week’s “World Between Worlds.” Our brains are still breaking, but allow showrunner Dave Filoni to clear up some major points of [SPOILER]’s return.

You’re warned of full Star Wars Rebels spoilers for “Wolves and a Door” and “The World Between Worlds” from here on out, especially that big honkin’ part where Ezra – oh, I don’t know – traveled through time to a nexus of the Star Wars universe, and plucked Ahsoka Tano from history. That was *a lot* to take in from the franchise’s generally-consistent space fantasy rules, as were the echoes of Star Wars dialogue ranging from The Phantom Menace to The Last Jedi . Destruction of the Lothal temple leaves it unlikely any future Star Wars properties will revisit the whole time-travel thing, but we had at least a few questions.

For one, what exactly does it mean that Ezra ripped Ahsoka out of her “Twilight of the Apprentice” duel with Darth Vader, and sent her back shortly thereafter? The obvious implication is that Ahsoka is alive and well for a return in next week’s finale, but is time in the Star Wars universe a closed loop? Did Ezra *always* rescue her, or is there a timeline in which Ahsoka died? According to supervising producer Dave Filoni (h/t Nerdist ), there is:

So, the only thing Kanan really engineers, that I think is questionably a little bit selfish, is he engineers the rescue of Ahsoka. He wants to see if Ezra can figure out that’s what he’s capable of doing in that moment. So, he puts him in this place where he can do that. That’s why the big wolf is saying restore the past and you redeem the future. Kanan’s correcting that thing where she otherwise dies. Now she’s back in play which is, I think, a good thing because she’s an interesting character.

For what it’s worth, the show’s accompanying Rebels Recon also revealed that we’d seen the “World Between Worlds” before, both in Season 1 designs for the Lothal temple and Ezra’s subsequent contact with Yoda (cued up around 7:17 below):

The implication then becomes that Yoda had remote access to this nexus of time and space, as well that The Last Jedi and Snoke may have used the same realm. Many were quick to connect Rey and Kylo Ren’s cross-galaxy Skype sessions and Luke’s projection to this same Ezra-Yoda scene, raising all manner of questions as to what Jedi and Sith have visited (or changed) historical events in the actual nexus.

We’re not likely to get crystal clear answers in next week’s three-part finale, but you can watch the full trailer below and stay tuned for more. Has Star Wars Rebels otherwise officially broken your brain?

Star Wars Rebels introduces time-travel to a galaxy far, far away

By neil harrington | feb 28, 2018.

star wars rebels time travel episode

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 takes a big swing, introducing time-travel to a galaxy far, far away. Did the risk pay off, though?

Star Wars Rebels is not messing around, with the final few episodes pulling out all of the stops. First, Kanan Jarrus goes out epically, sacrificing himself for the greater good of the Rebel Alliance — in true Jedi fashion.

If that wasn’t enough, Rebels Season 4 ushered in the return of the Senate himself, Emperor Palpatine , voiced by the legendary Ian McDiarmid. The Sith Master is as evil and bad ass as ever. Then, out of nowhere, we were taken back in time to a moment of great importance. Ahsoka vs. Darth Vader, through the (certain) point of view of Ezra Bridger.

Inside of the Jedi temple and using the Force as his guide, Ezra’s granted access to a mysterious time portal, with the ability to travel back in time. He uses the new resource to rescue Ahsoka Tano from the death blow of Darth Vader, bringing her to the present age. Ahsoka lives!

Is this idea of time-travel wise to bring into the Star Wars universe? Absolutely. But, that’s not how the Force works, right? Wrong.

This concept is not new. In fact, we have seen this before, during the Clone Wars era. Embracing his inner Doc Brown and Marty McFly, Ezra was able to cheat death — an offer given to Anakin Skywalker by Palpatine years before this moment.

Does this sound familiar?

"“He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.”"

Also, later on in Revenge of the Sith.

"To cheat death is a power only one has achieved but if we work together, I know we can discover the secret."

Emperor Palpatine’s offer to Anakin may have been more truthful than we initially believed. During this episode of Rebels Season 4, he finally discovers the secret to this very path of immortality. It’s even stated in the episode, by the Emperor’s advisor, that the one who controls this time-portal, achieves power for all time.

UNLIMITED POWER!

Fortunately for Ezra and the rest of the galaxy, the Emperor’s plans are foiled, at least for now. Imagine if Darth Vader learned what his Master discovered? He could change his fate and embrace the path of Anakin Skywalker. But, like always, the Emperor keeps his Apprentice on a leash and doesn’t share this wealth of knowledge with him.

Dave Filoni and the Lucasfilm story group found a fresh new way to use the Force — brilliantly showing us the fate of Ahsoka. Now, Ahsoka lives, and with that, new stories of her within future Star Wars content. And, who knows, maybe she’ll encounter Luke Skywalker — with the circle now complete.

Once again, Star Wars is coming around full-circle and who knows, maybe we’ll see more traveling through time and innovative Force powers in Episode IX.  As Count Dooku says, this is just the beginning!

Next: Rebels Season 4: Every voice heard in The World Between Worlds

Star Wars Rebels Season 4  and the series concludes next week on  Disney XD , with two brand new episodes — including an hour-long finale.

What Does STAR WARS REBELS’ Big Reveal Mean for EPISODE IX?

' src=

With each new entry this season,  Star Wars Rebels   has been shaking fans to the core. Between intimate character moments, surprising cameos from some of the galaxy’s most terrifying villains, and the death of a beloved character, the team behind Rebels isn’t holding anything back. But they’ve outdone themselves with the bombshell introduction of canon time travel in the most recent episode, “A World Between Worlds.”

The episode revealed a dimension that added layers to Obi-Wan’s iconic quote about the Force: “It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.” Presenting a dimension in which all of history, past and present, is accessible via the portals in the Lothal Temple, Rebels exploded the notion of time and space as we knew it in the Star Wars Universe!

This obviously has huge ramifications for Rebels and the final three episodes of the show, but it could also mean massive changes in the main Star Wars continuity, especially in the upcoming Episode IX . Why introduce something this groundbreaking and game-changing into a show that’s about to end? Strap into your Corellian YT-1300f light freighter, because we think it’s pretty likely that time travel is coming to J.J. Abrams’ finale of the new Star Wars trilogy!

star wars rebels time travel episode

It might seem a bit outlandish to suggest that Episode IX will introduce Force-enabled time travel, but when you start to think about the way we’ve seen the Force change and grow within the new Star Wars canon, it actually makes sense. The Last Jedi spent lots of time introducing us to new Force abilities, from Rey and Kylo’s telekinetic connection to Luke’s astral projection in the final battle of the film. These radical uses of the Force were controversial, but very much in keeping with the Lothal Temple and its powers.

The Temple contained a secret dimension that held every moment in existence in one place, all accessible via circular doors (and, of course, the Force). And if there’s a centralized source where all of the moments in Force history collide, it would make sense that people strong with the Force could harness that power to connect two minds across the galaxy or project themselves to another place or time.

Since it was announced that J.J. Abrams would take over the final installment of the new trilogy, rumors about just what his plans might be have been plentiful. A fan on Reddit claimed to have met Abrams and asked him about the trilogy, saying that the director told him Episode IX  “is also the film which unites all three trilogies and brings everything together.” Vague, yes, but an incredibly interesting statement after Rebels’ big reveal.

How easy would it be to introduce the portals seen in the Lothal Temple as a way of connecting the three eras of Star Wars? There’s been a lot of speculation about the potential for the film to be set a long time after The Last Jedi , in which case once again time travel makes a lot of sense, either to explain a time jump or connect the newer story to the stories of the past.

Star Wars Rebels and other contemporary non-film canon have already been used to introduce things that would later appear in films. Greg Rucka’s Shattered Empire comics introduced the parents of Poe Dameron and their Force trees, which would end up playing a role in The Last Jedi. Claudia Gray’s fantastic Leia, Princess of Alderaan novel introduced fans to a hero of the resistance, Amilyn Holdo, months before we met her in The Last Jedi .

Rebels also teased the controversial Force flight before her royal highness Princess Leia made us all cry and saved herself during that same film. So why wouldn’t the team use the final episodes of a beloved and critically acclaimed animated show to sow the seeds of a concept that will change the shape of the filmic galaxy forever?

This would also be a great chance to see the world of Rebels fully integrated into the main Star Wars film canon. Though there’ve been nods to Rebels in the live action films—in  Rogue One,  the Ghost ship can be seen over the battle of Scarif, and Hera’s droid chopper is seen on Yavin 4—this could be a chance to bring in major lore and locations.

What if Episode IX saw Rey, desperate for answers, heading to find the Lothal Temple after the destruction of the Temple on Ahch-To? Or perhaps Kylo discovers an old hologram that mentions the Temple and its powers, and heads there to try and connect with his grandfather? The possibilities are honestly endless.

Do you think Abrams is brave enough to bring time travel into the Star Wars films? Can’t wait to see the Rebels finale next week? Just wanna see Qui-Gon, Han, and Ahsoka go get a sandwich together? Let us know below!

Which Type Of Star Wars Stormtrooper Would You Be, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Star wars theory makes george lucas' original jedi origin canon after 48 years, forget the jedi, the mandalorians' true rivals beat them every single time in star wars legends.

Star Wars once introduced time travel, and it almost destroyed the saga’s timeline. The Star Wars universe values a strict canon quite a lot, especially compared to franchises like Marvel or DC. Disney’s Star Wars canon means that there are dozens of non-canon Star Wars stories. However, there is no such thing as an alternate Star Wars timeline or an established Star Wars multiverse.

The Star Wars animated series tend to be more innovative and imaginative compared to the big live-action releases. The animation format helps translate bold concepts into compelling stories. That is something shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars , Star Wars Rebels , and the non-canon Star Wars: Visions have accomplished. Some concepts, however, can be way too ambitious. For example, Star Wars Rebels ’ World Between Worlds risked changing the franchise’s canon forever.

Star Wars Rebels’ World Between Worlds Was A Closed Loop (Thankfully)

Star Wars Rebels season 4, episode 13, “A World Between Worlds” introduced actual time travel in the Star Wars universe. After teasing how important Lothal was to the Emperor for four seasons, Rebels finally revealed what made Lothal so special. Despite the hidden Jedi Temple and the strong connection to the Force, Lothal also held an incredible secret. The Mortis gods painting, which recreated the mysterious characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars ’ Mortis arc, was secretly a door to the World Between Worlds. The World Between worlds was a plane of existence placed aside from time and space, through which a person could interact with the flow of time.

Essentially, each door in the World Between Worlds was a portal to a different point in the Star Wars timeline. Thanks to the World Between Worlds, "season 2 Ahsoka" was saved from Darth Vader by "season 4 Ezra." In other words, Ahsoka escaped from Vader during “Twilight of the Apprentice” by traveling into the future. Time travel exists in Star Wars , and it has been used in a major capacity. Fortunately, Rebels closed its time travel Pandora’s box right away. Ahsoka always escaped from Malachor, as seen during Rebels season 2’s finale. Therefore, the World Between Worlds was a closed loop rather than something that could break the Star Wars canon.

Why Adding Time Travel To Star Wars Is So Tricky

Time travel will make any franchise more complicated. If an event from the past can be changed, then retcons are no longer retcons – they become part of the canon. Unlike Marvel or DC, both of which have featured countless different continuities through the decades, Star Wars tries to follow the same timeline. Even during the Expanded Universe, when there was no such thing as a definitive Star Wars canon other than the stories George Lucas was involved in, continuity was important. There were degrees of canon and other details that tried to keep the Star Wars universe concise. After Disney bought Lucasfilm, Star Wars was given a single, definitive canon.

By dealing with time travel in Rebels season 4, Star Wars risked destroying its consistent canon for the first time in decades. Obviously, there will always be a few inconsistencies in the Star Wars timeline. Likewise, Star Wars ' Expanded Universe was always its own thing compared to what Lucas was doing, even though the former informed the latter in many ways. Still, establishing that Ezra could pass through a time portal to save a past version of Ahsoka could change everything. Suddenly, any alternate Star Wars timelines were possible. What if someone had used the World Between Worlds to prevent Anakin from falling to the dark side?

Will Ahsoka Revisit The World Between Worlds?

Ahsoka’s World Between Worlds experience strongly suggested that this mysterious realm could not actually change the past. Instead, Ezra saving Ahsoka was part of a closed loop, something that was always destined to happen. Even still, the implications of Rebels ’ “A World Between Worlds” episode are significant. Could other major Star Wars events have been the result of a closed loop caused by time travel? Are there other forces cable of interacting with the timeline? Star Wars Rebels never answered those questions, and the door to the World Between Worlds was sealed forever. Now, however, Star Wars ’ time travel could be revisited in Ahsoka .

The Ahsoka series’ logo evokes the World Between World aesthetics. However, it can also be just a reference to the Jedi Temple on Lothal. Either way, the upcoming Ahsoka show would be the perfect opportunity for Star Wars to revisit the World Between Worlds. Ahsoka is the only known Star Wars character who has experienced time travel. In addition, the World Between Worlds is the reason why Ahsoka was able to escape Vader in “Twilight of the Apprentice.” What happened to Ahsoka between her time travel experience and the Rebels epilogue is a Star Wars mystery that the Ahsoka show can answer.

Time travel

  • Edit source

This article details a subject that is considered canon.

Time travel was a form of transportation through time into the past [2] or the future. [1] Although some beings sometimes wished they could travel back in time to change mistakes they made in their lives, [2] [3] such a thing was still widely thought to be impossible, even during the height of the New Republic . [4] A hypothetical device for allowing so was known as a time machine . [3]

World between worlds

The World Between Worlds

Access to the World Between Worlds made time travel possible through many of the doors and pathways to the past, present and future. However, the mystical Force realm's existence was mostly unknown, and only a few Force-users could enter it. In 0 BBY , Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger entered the World Between Worlds through a portal in the Lothal Jedi Temple and rescued the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano from being killed by Darth Vader during the mission to Malachor , which had occurred three years before, by pulling her through a portal. During their time there, Bridger briefly considered rescuing his master Kanan Jarrus , who had died during the rescue of Hera Syndulla , by pulling him through a portal. However, Tano talked him out of it by pointing out that rescuing Jarrus would mean that all of the other Spectres present, including Bridger, would have died in the explosion of the Imperial gas refinery, causing a paradox. After being attacked by Darth Sidious , Bridger and Tano returned through the same portals they had entered, emerging on Lothal and Malachor respectively, three years apart. [5]

Luke Skywalker , when asked by C-3PO how the latter could help the former, sarcastically suggested that the droid could help by altering time far enough into the future to bypass the harvest season so he could join the Imperial Academy . [1]

Behind the scenes [ ]

Time travel was first mentioned, sarcastically, in Star Wars : Episode IV A New Hope . [1] It first appeared in Star Wars canon in the second issue of the 2016 comic book series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra . [6]

The non-canon LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special has time travel as a major part of its plot, as Rey Skywalker is guided to a Jedi Temple on the planet Kordoku . She finds a portal there that sends her on a journey through time to meet many important figures from galactic history. [7]

After Andor Season 2, Lucasfilm Only Needs This Live-Action Star Wars Show

Is smallville worth watching dc's teen superman show is more important than fans realize, this 28-year-old british sitcom should have been bigger than friends, key takeaways.

  • Star Wars Rebels is an underrated but important animated series in the Star Wars franchise, filling the gap between Episode III and Episode IV.
  • The timeline of Rebels is crucial to understanding its connection to other Star Wars projects.
  • Each season of Rebels corresponds to a specific time period before the Battle of Yavin, setting up key events and character developments that lead into the events of Ahsoka and the Original Trilogy.

The most underrated Star Wars animated series is Star Wars Rebels . However, it can also be the most difficult to figure out. Star Wars has had a habit of jumping across the timeline with its various projects (and sometimes within them) and Rebels is no different. That makes it hard for viewers to pinpoint exactly when in canon the events of the series happen.

But Rebels is very important to Star Wars , and its importance will continue to grow with the arrival of the Ahsoka series. Not only is the show meant to be a sequel to the wildly popular animated series The Clone Wars , it also fills the gap between Episode III and Episode IV , while holding on to fan-favorite characters from The Clone Wars in the process. With that in mind, it's important to know what happened when. Here's the best possible estimation with "BBY" standing for "before the Battle of Yavin."

Updated September 19th, 2023 by Jordan Iacobucci -- Star Wars: Rebels has become one of the most important series in the history of the Star Wars franchise. In setting up the events of the Original Trilogy, the animated series also sets up the next stage of Star Wars' future, primarily through the new Disney+ series, Ahsoka. As such, it is vital that Star Wars fans fully understand the timeline of Rebels, from its first season all the way through its fourth--and how each event therein leads into the events of Ahsoka.

RELATED: Star Wars Just Introduced a Terrifying New Element to Space Travel

Rebels Season 1

The first season of Rebels takes place around 5BBY to 4BBY, and only one event situates things in the greater Star Wars timeline, but it's a very important one. Jyn Erso (seen in Star Wars: Rogue One ) is abandoned by Saw Gerrera around 5BBY, starting the arc that led her to aiding in the destruction of the Death Star. Jyn memorably sacrifices herself during the Battle of Scarif in order to ensure the Death Star's collapse in the same year as the Battle of Yavin.

Rebels Season 2

Season 2 takes place between 4BBY and 3BBY, and there are some fun things that tie Rebels into the rest of the galaxy's happenings at this time. In 4BBY, Lando Calrissian acquires the famous Millennium Falcon through gambling and rescues Han Solo from Boba Fett. Leia Organa has her "Day of Demand" -- basically a fancy coronation -- in 3BBY when she turns 16 and claims her right to the throne of Alderaan. Becoming a junior legislator in the Imperial Senate in this year, she also becomes more active as a rebel when she learns that both her adoptive parents are part of the rebellion.

Rebels Season 3

In Season 3, it is revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi survived Order 66, Darth Maul dies (cementing his status as the most tragic Sith) and the Rebels receive official organization from Senator Mon Mothma, becoming the unified Rebel Alliance instead of different Rebel cells. The Mandalorian Civil War also began in this year, as Sabine Wren acquires the Darksaber, which sets in motion events that will culminate in the Great Purge of Mandalore. That event, of course, is thoroughly explored in The Mandalorian , which gives Rebels a connection to that series and The Book of Boba Fett .

RELATED: Star Wars Just Got Its Own Version of Phil Coulson

Rebels Season 4

1bby to 0bby.

The fourth season of Star Wars Rebels is largely set around 1BBY, which contains the aforementioned Great Purge of Mandalore and Bo-Katan Kryze's loss of the Darksaber to Moff Gideon -- an event also explored in The Mandalorian. This season also occurs alongside the events of Rogue One, in which Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor sacrifice themselves to provide invaluable knowledge of the Death Star that ultimately saves the rebellion. The plans of the Death Star are successfully stolen and passed on to Leia Organa, catching Rebels up to the opening of Star Wars: Episode IV .

Rebels Season 4 Finale Prologues 5BBY

Season 4's finale -- also Star Wars: Rebels ' series finale -- has a heartbreaking prologue to recap the events of Rebels thus far. It flashes back to 5BBY, when Darth Vader gave the command to hunt down and kill Force-presenting children, as well as any surviving Jedi who might train them. Ahsoka Tano recounts the Anakin Skywalker that she knew to Ezra Bridger, as she is tormented by Anakin's voice taunting her about her decision to leave him, and the Jedi Order, behind.

Ahsoka Continues Rebels' Storyline In 9 ABY

While not officially a part of the original animated series, the Ahsoka Disney+ series largely functions as a fifth season of the beloved show. The series takes place around the same time as other Star Wars Disney+ series like The Mandalorian , placing it around 9 years after the Battle of Yavin in A New Hope . By the time the season begins, Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn have been missing for over a decade, with all trails leading toward them running cold.

When Ahsoka finally picks up Rebels ' storyline, many of the characters have changed quite a bit since they were last seen. Sabine has undergone some training to become a Jedi despite her lack of Force-sensitivity. Meanwhile, Zeb, Chopper, and Hera have all taken places in different positions in the New Republic fleet. However, when new information about Ezra and Thrawn's whereabouts becomes known, the team leaps back into action just like the old days to find their missing friend.

The Star Wars Rebels timeline might be somewhat convoluted, but it connects to several greater events in the Star Wars galaxy. That's one of the many reasons the animated series remains beloved to fans. With the further expansion of Star Wars through the Disney+ shows, it's even more important to recognize the place Rebels holds in Star Wars history.

All 8 New Force Users Introduced In Star Wars Rebels (& What Happened To Them)

  • Star Wars Rebels introduced new Force users in a post-Jedi purge era to capture the magic of the original trilogy.
  • Characters like Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus underwent transformative arcs to fight against the Empire.
  • Inquisitors like the Grand Inquisitor and Seventh Sister met their ends through intense battles in the series.

Star Wars Rebels introduced viewers to several new Force users, each one meeting a different fate by the end of the series. Because the story was set after the Jedi purge in the Star Wars prequel trilogy , there were far fewer Force users in this era. The team behind Star Wars Rebels sought to recapture the magic of the original Star Wars trilogy , with the hero learning about the larger galaxy and how the Force works. In this way, having a handful of Force users helped the show's premise by making it special when a new one was introduced.

Even so, Star Wars Rebels still featured many outstanding Force users created specifically for the series. Some even made appearances in the tie-in books and shorts before making their proper onscreen debut in the show. Star Wars Rebels also featured returning Force users from past Star Wars movies and TV shows to complement the new characters. From Jedi in training to the Imperial Inquisitors , Star Wars Rebels introduced eight notable Force users during its four-season run.

Star Wars Rebels Voice Cast - What The Actors Look Like In Real Life

Star Wars Rebels features an amazing cast of live-action and voice-acting all-stars, each who bring an added edge to Star Wars.

The Grand Inquisitor

First appearance: star wars rebels season 1, episode 1 "spark of rebellion".

Known simply as "the Inquisitor" in season 1, the Grand Inquisitor originally appeared at the end of the Star Wars Rebels premiere, but later airings added a scene between him and Darth Vader at the beginning. As the leader of the other Inquisitors, the Grand Inquisitor was charged with hunting down Jedi survivors and any Force-sensitive children who could grow up to oppose the Empire. When Agent Kallus discovered that the Ghost crew was led by a Jedi, he contacted the Grand Inquisitor, who made it his mission to hunt the rebels down.

The Grand Inquisitor was eventually defeated in a lightsaber duel with Kanan Jarrus, allowing himself to fall to his death rather than face Darth Vader's wrath. In Star Wars Rebels season 2, Kanan learned in a vision that the Grand Inquisitor was once a Jedi Temple Guard , and Dave Filoni confirmed that he was one of the Guards who arrested Barriss Offee in Star Wars: The Clone Wars . The Marvel Star Wars comics revealed that Vader somehow trapped the Grand Inquisitor's spirit, forcing him to guard an abandoned Jedi outpost.

Ezra Bridger was the main protagonist of Star Wars Rebels , growing from a street rat to a powerful Jedi. After his parents were arrested for defying the Empire, Ezra had to fend for himself, until he met the Ghost crew and joined them as a rebel. Kanan Jarrus realized Ezra was Force-sensitive and agreed to train him as a Jedi, though the road was long and challenging for them both. Ezra fought alongside the Rebellion for years and earned the respect of many friends and allies, who all agreed to help free his home planet of Lothol from the Empire.

During the Battle of Lothol, Ezra summoned the purrgil, a group of space whales who could travel through hyperspace. To stop Grand Admiral Thrawn and remove him as a threat, Ezra allowed himself to disappear into the far reaches of space, and his friends spent years looking for him. In Ahsoka season 1, they found him in another galaxy on a planet called Peridea, where he had carved out a peaceful existence with the locals. Ezra was able to make it back to his galaxy and reunite with Hera Syndulla, and only time will tell what adventure awaits him next.

Kanan Jarrus

Kanan Jarrus was born Caleb Dume and raised as a Jedi , serving as the Padawan of Jedi Master Depa Billaba. When Order 66 happened, Caleb wanted to defend his master but was ordered to run, and the guilt would haunt him for years. He assumed the name Kanan Jarrus and went into hiding, eventually meeting Hera Syndulla. Together, they gathered a crew and formed their own rebel cell, helping fight the Empire wherever they could.

The Ghost crew later met Ezra Bridger while pulling a heist on Lothol, and Kanan took him as his Padawan. Although the two struggled at first, they became unstoppable as master and apprentice, and the crew became Ezra's family. Their relationship was tested again when Kanan was blinded by Darth Maul on Malachor, but Kanan found his way back and became a stronger Jedi than before. Kanan sacrificed himself to save his friends from an explosion , and Hera later gave birth to their son, Jacen Syndulla.

Sabine Wren

Sabine Wren was a Mandalorian who left the Imperial Academy after the weapons she helped create were used on her own people. She eventually met Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla, joining their crew and coming to see them as her new family. When the Ghost crew discovered the Darksaber, an ancient Mandalorian lightsaber that could unite her people, Sabine trained with Kanan to wield the blade properly. She helped lead the Mandalorians in rebellion against the Empire, passing the Darksaber on to Bo-Katan Kryze, who many considered the rightful ruler of Mandalore.

Although Sabine was never portrayed as a Force user in Star Wars Rebels , Kanan did start her down the learning path. This aspect of Sabine's character was explored in Ahsoka season 1, which revealed that she had become Ahsoka Tano's Padawan after the events of the series. The two had a falling out around the time Sabine's people were massacred by the Empire, but they two reunited to find Ezra Bridger. Sabine was finally able to use the Force on Peridea , but while Ezra escaped and returned home, she and Ahsoka found themselves stranded in another galaxy.

Fifth Brother

First appearance: star wars rebels season 2, episode 4 "relics of the old republic".

After the Grand Inquisitor's death at the end of Star Wars Rebels season 1, more Inquisitors were tasked with hunting down the Ghost crew. The first one introduced was the Fifth Brother, a former Jedi from the planet Artemesium. He pursued the Ghost crew relentlessly, engaging Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, and even Ahsoka Tano in lightsaber duels on multiple occasions. However, he was ultimately no match for Maul, dying at his hand on Malachor in the Star Wars Rebels season 2 finale.

The Fifth Brother went on to appear in several stories set before the events of Star Wars Rebels . He made his live-action debut alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi , where he competed with the Third Sister for Darth Vader's favor after the Grand Inquisitor was seemingly killed. He has also appeared in the Marvel Darth Vader comics, Star Wars: Inquisitor - Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson, Star Wars: Jedi - Battle Scars by Sam Maggs, and most recently the comic series Star Wars: Inquisitors by Rodney Barnes and Ramon Rosanas.

The Fifth Brother's design was based on unused concept art from Star Wars: The Force Awakens .

Seventh Sister

First appearance: star wars rebels season 2, episode 5 "always two there are".

The Seventh Sister was introduced immediately after the Fifth Brother in the appropriately titled season 2 episode "Always Two There Are." What set her apart from other Inquisitors was the droids she carried, which could be used to spy on her enemies or aid her in a fight. Whereas the Fifth Brother was more strict and direct, the Seventh Sister liked to taunt and interrogate her prey .

Like the Fifth Brother, however, she was no match for Maul on Malachor. Maul held her in place with the Force and ordered Ezra Bridger to strike her down, but when Ezra couldn't do it, Maul killed her himself. The Seventh Sister has also appeared in stories like the Marvel Darth Vader comics, Star Wars: Inquisitor - Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson, and Star Wars: Inquisitors by Rodney Barnes and Ramon Rosanas.

Eighth Brother

First appearance: star wars rebels season 2, episode 21 "twilight of the apprentice: part 1".

Of all the Force users introduced in Star Wars Rebels , the Eighth Brother had the least amount of screen time . He only appeared in the season 2 finale, having tracked Maul to Malachor but was surprised to find three Jedi had arrived as well. He and the other Inquisitors engaged the Jedi and Maul but were defeated, so the Eight Brother tried to fly away by using his spinning lightsaber as a propeller. Unfortunately, his hilt had been damaged, and he fell to his death from the top of the Sith Temple.

First Appearance: Star Wars Rebels season 3, episode 1 "Steps Into Shadow: Part One"

While all the other Force users in Star Wars Rebels committed to the light or dark side, the Bendu proclaimed that he was the one in the middle. While he begrudgingly helped Kanan Jarrus whenever he came seeking advice, Bendu affirmed that he did not participate in conflict. He became enraged when the Empire brought war to his planet, but he blamed the rebels too. He unleashed his full power to drive everyone off the planet, and after being shot down, he either became one with the Force or disappeared somewhere else.

Star Wars Rebels

Fans hoping for more animated Star Wars adventures on Disney+ may have to wait a little while now that The Clone Wars has come to an end with the explosive season 7 finale . As the Republic falls and the Empire rises, some fans might be left wondering what’s next for Ahsoka Tano. Fortunately, while Disney hasn’t announced a follow-up animated series to fill the void left by The Clone Wars ‘ excellent final season, Disney+ already has another animated series that directly connects to The Clone Wars while bridging the gap to the events of the Original Trilogy.

Stream your Star Wars favorites on Disney+ with a FREE TRIAL , on us!

Star Wars Rebels first aired on Disney XD from 2014 to 2018. It tells the story of a group of rebels known as the Spectres in the days before the Galactic Civil War. Here is the show that chronicles the formation of the Rebel Alliance, the heroes who stood against the Empire in the years before Luke Skywalker left Tatooine, and the Jedi who survived Order 66. The show also ties up a few loose ends from The Clone Wars , such as where Ahsoka, Maul, and Rex went after the Clone Wars. And if you’re a fan of the Original Trilogy, there are quite a few cameos from fan-favorite characters throughout the series.

At the center of Rebels is Ezra Bridger, an orphan living on the Imperial-occupied planet of Lothal. It’s while causing some trouble for the Empire that Ezra meets the Spectres, a crew of freedom fighters who travel around the galaxy on their ship The Ghost . They’re just one of many splinter cells in the series taking the fight to the evil Empire. After having a run-in with the Spectres, Ezra is recruited by the group and soon discovers that he is Force-sensitive. Fortunately, one of the Spectres is a former Jedi who decides to train Ezra in the ways of the Force.

As you might expect, the series offers a great mix of Rebel antics and Jedi action. And while the show often takes a more lighthearted approach to Star Wars , this animated series actually dives much deeper into the secrets of the Force and the conflict between the Jedi and the Sith than any of the movies do. It explores elements of real magic in the Star Wars universe as well as sci-fi concepts never-before-seen in the galaxy far, far away . The show sets up at least one or two things that might prove to be very important to Star Wars stories yet to come.

Since Rebels takes place between The Clone Wars and A New Hope , where exactly does the show land on the Star Wars timeline? Almost all of Rebels is set between 5 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) and 0 BBY — right before Rogue One and A New Hope — with each season covering about a year in the lives of the characters.

To put it another way, Rebels begins14 years after the end of The Clone Wars , which is set from 22 BBY to 19 BBY. That not only means that there are 14 years between the two shows that are ripe for exploration, but that when we meet Ahsoka, Maul, and Rex again on Rebels , they’re a bit older.

Disney+ probably won’t keep fans waiting for a new Star Wars animated series for very long. With The Clone Wars and Resistance coming to an end this year, it’s likely that something new is already in the works. The question is: when might fans actually get to see what’s next? We don’t have an answer to that just yet. But until then, start Rebels if you’ve not watched it already!

Breaking Down 'The Rings of Power' Season 2's New Opening Credits

Before 'agatha all along,' aubrey plaza terrified in this fx marvel series, hear me out, 'ted lasso' season 4 should happen without jason sudeikis.

Editor's Note: This article contains spoilers for Ahsoka Episode 3.

The Big Picture

  • Ahsoka reunites with old allies and resumes training with Sabine as her Padawan. They embark on a journey to investigate the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn.
  • Ahsoka draws on Master Yoda's teachings to address the dangers of anger and frustration in Jedi training.
  • The episode also introduces Jacen Syndulla, the son of Hera and Kanan, who expresses his desire to become a Jedi, potentially foreshadowing his future in the Star Wars universe.

Things are kicking into hyperdrive, or hyperspace, in the third episode of Ahsoka . With Rosario Dawson front and center as the fan-favorite titular Togruta , the latest Star Wars series from creator Dave Filoni is off to a beyond-satisfying start. When we left off last week, Ahsoka reunited with old allies Hera Syndulla ( Mary Elizabeth Winstead ) and Sabine Wren ( Natasha Liu Bordizzo ), eventually agreeing to resume training with Sabine as her Padawan learner. Still bent on investigating the dark shroud surrounding the rumors of Grand Admiral Thrawn's return, Ahsoka and friends trek through space, encountering plenty of Easter eggs and references along the way. Here's everything you might have missed!

RELATED: Can I Watch 'Ahsoka' Without Watching Any Other Star Wars Shows?

Zatoichi, Blind Jedi Training

Zatoichi, a common aspect of a Jedi's training, has been seen throughout Star Wars since the beginning. In Star Wars: Episode I -- A New Hope , Luke Skywalker ( Mark Hamill ) is the first we see undergoing the intentionally-blinded form of Force-sensing training. In the prequel trilogy, you'll remember the younglings doing the same. Moreover, and more closely connected to Ahsoka , Kanan Jarrus used a form of this practice when training Ezra in Star Wars Rebels . Star Wars canon gets the name for this form of training from Japanese novelist Kam Shimozawa , whose stories of a blind swordsman have long been a popular component of Japanese fiction.

Anger Leads to Hate

With Ahsoka acknowledging her training under Anakin coming to an early, ill-fated end and her refusal to train Grogu, it's evident why she'd have apprehension around resuming Sabine's training . However, while aware of Sabine's bullish nature, Ahsoka seems to be pulling from a page of Master Yoda's playbook, calmly addressing the dangers of allowing anger and frustration to take the reins of one's emotions. "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." In Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace , Yoda ( Frank Oz ) spoke these words to a young Anakin Skywalker ( Jake Lloyd ); now Anakin's Padawan is keeping the sentiment alive in the training of her own Padawan.

A Droid's Unwanted Input

Droids are often giving their dry, matter-of-fact input at the worst possible moments, and Huyang ( David Tennant ) is no exception. It's less of an Easter egg and more of a long-running joke, but Huyang's persistent mentioning of Sabina's poor performance as a Jedi candidate feels like a less than subtle reference to many droids before him. Especially reminding us of the droid K-2SO ( Alan Tudyk ) from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story , Sabine even remarks on missing Huyang's unwanted input when he's out temporarily shut down during this episode's star fight.

Chancellor Mon Mothma, Senator Hamato Xiono, and the State of the New Republic

This episode gave us a greater look at the state of the New Republic following the Empire's defeat in Star Wars: Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi , with glimpses of its fleet and an insider view of its political inner-workings. This brought forth the interesting inclusion of Senator Hamato Xiono ( Nelson Lee ). He's a Senator from Hosnian Prime, which will eventually become the New Republic's capital by the time of Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens . He's the father of Kazuda Xiono, who is the central character of the animated series, Star Wars Resistance , which takes place between Ahsoka and the sequel trilogy. The tentative attitude toward fighting Imperial remnants that Senator Xiono expresses in this episode of Ahsoka could likely be a key part of what leads to the rise of the First Order (and the eventual destruction of his planet in The Force Awakens ).

Of course, we also have the inclusion of Chancellor Mon Mothma , played once again by Genevieve O'Reilly , who has become a staple of Star Wars media across all eras. First appearing in a deleted sequence from Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith , Mon Mothma has since made appearances in Rogue One , Andor , and now again in Ahsoka.

Jacen Syndulla

Making his live-action Star Wars debut, Jacen Syndulla ( Evan Whitten ) popped up just after General Hera's meeting with the New Republic representatives. The son of Hera and a Jedi Knight named Kanan Jarrus, Jacen was a mainstay of the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Although he never knew his father, as he died in combat during the Galactic Civil War just before Jacen was born, the Jedi aspirations live on in this young human/Twi'lek hybrid. He tells his mother that he wants to be a Jedi, which Hera lovingly acknowledges, potentially foreshadowing this character's future in Star Wars media.

Ahsoka's Space Walk Fight Calls Back to 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' and 'The Clone Wars'

In the animated Star Wars series, The Clone Wars , we saw Ahsoka don a space suit with a large, clear helmet surrounding her entire head. Now, in Ahsoka , she's got a live-action version of her suit, straying from The Clone Wars ' design in its color and by making the helmet's visor cover only her face, with her lekku fitted into a specially designed wrapping.

During Ahsoka's untethered space fight, one particular move calls back to Star Wars: Episode IX -- The Rise of Skywalker . When she leaps across the ship's wing, dodging and deflecting lasers, she slices through one of the enemy fighters as it whizzes past. If you recall one of The Rise of Skywalker 's earliest teaser trailers, you'll know which scene this references. When Rey ( Daisy Ridley ) runs across the desert floor with Kyle Ren ( Adam Driver ) racing up to her, his starfighter hovering at near-ground level, she dodges at the last possible second. Leaping over Kylo and slicing a wing from his ship, it's one of the film's most visually stunning sequences, making for an immediately recognizable call back in Ahsoka .

Purrgil, the Star Whales of Intergalactic Travel

So many of us like to call them space whales, and though they're referred to as star whales here, that's not likely to change. The purrgil were first introduced in Star Wars Rebels , and here they are making their live-action debut in Ahsoka . We caught a faint glimpse of their silhouettes in the most recent season of The Mandalorian , but this is the first time we're seeing them in all their glory, witnesses just how massive they truly are.

The purrgil, with their spread of many tentacles and bulbous heads, are a species of massive, semi-sentient whale-like creatures that inhabit deep space. In Rebels , they played a part in thwarting Grand Admiral Thrawn, the elusive villain of Ahsoka . With this episode confirming their intergalactic ability to travel the universe , they're sure to be a key part of the series going forward.

10 Best Darth Maul Moments of All Time (That Fans Only Got in The Comics)

10 Best Darth Maul Moments of All Time (That Fans Only Got in The Comics)

Darth Maul is easily one of the most terribleass characters in Star Wars history, and that point has been made evident in his film and television materializeances alone. Maul debuted in Episode I , acting as the first Sith to be accessiblely spotted in 1000 years, who successbrimmingy killings a Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn . Then, Maul returns to canon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars , where he apshows over the galaxy’s underworld before conquering all of Mandalore, and even stands his ground aobtainst Darth Sidious himself.

Indeed, Darth Maul’s many feats in Star Wars have cemented his reputation as one of the most challengingcore characters in the franchise, and his many comic book materializeances only comprise to that legacy. From Star Wars tales that apshow place wilean the set uped canon, to Legfinishs stories that recommend fans alternate (yet equassociate awesome) sees at the terribleass Sith, these are 10 of the best Darth Maul moments of all time that fans only got in Star Wars comics !

10 Darth Maul is a Legitimate Horror Movie Monster Before His ‘Resurrection’

Star wars adventures: return to vader’s castle #1 by cavan scott, francesco francavilla, and megan levens.

The mere fact alone that Darth Maul is a spiteful, merciless Sith originates him incredibly terrifying, but in Return to Vader’s Castle, he’s utter nightmare fuel. This story apshows place during the time period when Darth Maul set up himself trapped on Lotho Minor after being lossed by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo . As Star Wars fans understand, it was at this point in Maul’s life that he no extfinisheder had the bottom half of his body, and had to reimburse with robotic spider legs.

In this story, a scant unblessed wannabe illicit traders find themselves on Lotho Minor and in Darth Maul’s clutches . Since they didn’t understand who he was, Maul fair seemed appreciate a local monster, which is essentiassociate what he became after his crushing loss and before his official ‘resurrection’ – and this story apprehfinishs that perfectly.

9 Star Wars Details Exactly How Darth Maul Survived After Episode I

Star wars: the clone wars – the sith hunters by henry gilroy, steven melching, and vicenç villaagrasa.

Fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars understand the story of how Maul persistd Episode I , and how he eventuassociate returned to his establisher glory (and beyond). However, the definites of what Maul went thraw were never cltimely shown, only informly abridged – until this comic. The Sith Hunters is a story that fits perfectly into Star Wars: The Clone Wars (as if it was an unaired episode), and it shows exactly how Maul persistd getting cut in half, and then dumped on Lotho Minor .

Witnessing the utter hell Darth Maul finishured is comparable to seeing Anakin Skywalker burned ainhabit on Mustafar . It apexamines fans to experience the challengingships of the character, and better appreciate what they went thraw, making this comic a must-read for Darth Maul fans.

8 Star Wars Reveals How Darth Maul Escaped the Clutches of Darth Sidious

Star wars: darth maul – son of dathomir #1-4 by jeremy barlow and juan frigeri.

One of the hugegest unanswered asks in The Clone Wars vivaciousd series is how Darth Maul escaped the clutches of Darth Sidious after Palpatine finished Savage Opress and apprehfinishd Maul on Mandalore. Sidious inestablishs Maul he has huge schedules for him upon Maul’s apprehfinish , but then Maul is free the next time fans see him a scant seasons procrastinateedr. Well, with the Son of Dathomir comic book story arc (which was originassociate nastyt to be a Clone Wars storyline), that mystery is repaird in truly spectacular style.

Son of Dathomir sees Maul get backd by his Mandalorian Death Watch squadron before he aligns himself once more with Mother Talzin to apshow on Count Dooku, General Grievous, and even Darth Sidious all at the same time. This is a standout moment in Darth Maul’s personal Star Wars lore, and it deserves every bit of praise it gets .

7 Darth Maul’s Sith Mind Trick is Too R-Rated for Star Wars’ Main Canon

Star wars: darth maul – death sentence #1 by tom taylor and bruno redondo.

Death Sentence is aappreciate to the appreciates of Son of Dathomir and Sith Hunters in that it is a continuation of Darth Maul’s post-‘resurrection’ journey during the Clone Wars. Except, this comic isn’t harshly canon, which apexamineed the story to be a bit more R-rated . The gruesome savagery of Darth Maul and Savage Opress as they’re on the run from the Jedi is put on brimming distake part, especiassociate one scene in particular.

Darth Maul engages a Sith Mind Trick to force a defend to detonate an device – while helderlying it – right in the middle of where every one of his fellow defends were standing, apexamineing Maul and Savage modest access into the fortress they were trying to infiltrate . That’s a pretty challengingcore scene for a well-understandnly family-frifinishly franchise appreciate Star Wars to show, and way too R-rated for the main series canon.

6 Darth Maul Gets an Even More Badass Weapon than His Double-Bladed Lightsaber

Star wars: darth maul #1 by cullen bunn and luke ross.

Darth Maul’s double-bladed weightlesssaber is one of the celderlyest armaments in Star Wars history, which is made evident by how iconic the firearm’s debut was in The Phantom Menace . However, as awesome as this weightlesssaber unarguably is, it’s actuassociate not the most terribleass in Darth Maul’s arsenal. During a training session in this rehire, Darth Maul is battling many-eyed, keen-toothed, tentacled beasts in the forests of Twon Ketee, and he’s doing so with a enormous battle-ax .

To be evident, the ax Maul wields in this Star Wars comic is no swap for his double-bladed weightlesssaber, as the saber is infinitely more effective in battle . However, in terms of sheer terribleassery, the ax has the weightlesssaber beat, as it gives Maul a more uncultured, brutal edge.

5 Darth Maul Finassociate Got the Chance to Battle His Replacement: Darth Vader

Star wars tales #9 “resurrection” by ron marz and rick leonardi.

The wonderfulest crime that Star Wars ever pledgeted was robbing fans of an on-screen battle between Darth Maul and his Sith tradement, Darth Vader, especiassociate after Darth Maul’s ‘resurrection’, which nastyt they were around at the same time and could have conceivably traverseed paths (and blades). Thankbrimmingy, Star Wars Legfinishs originates up for this unininestablishigentinutivecoming with the Star Wars Tales story, “Resurrection”, which showed Darth Maul being resurrected thraw Sith alchemy, and pitted aobtainst Darth Vader by a group of Sith cultists .

The battle between Maul and Vader is taged as one of the celderlyest weightlesssaber duels in Star Wars history (canon or not). It finassociate showed the two most iconic Sith warriors battling it out to finish which one is truly greater, and it’s someleang every Star Wars fan needs to experience.

4 Darth Maul is Killed by Star Wars’ Least Likely Hero

Star wars visionaries “old wounds” by aaron mcbride.

Above all else, Darth Maul’s main goal thrawout Star Wars is to find and finish Obi-Wan Kenobi, as he is utterly devourd by revenge. Forming the Shadow Collective, conquering Mandalore, and anyleang else Maul did were all secondary to that one, obsessive goal. In Star Wars Visionaries, Maul finassociate tracks down Obi-Wan on Tatooine, attacks the Lars family farm to get his attention, and flourishs in doing fair that. While Maul and Kenobi duel, it isn’t Obi-Wan who deinhabitrs the finishing blow to Maul, but rather Uncle Owen .

Owen shoots Maul in the head with a blaster when Obi-Wan fall shorts to finish him off. Maul menaceened the inhabits of Beru and Luke after attacking Owen , so he wasn’t going to stand by and let this evident danger to his family srecommend walk away becaengage of the misguided perfects of a Jedi.

3 Darth Maul was Anakin Skywalker’s First Sith Master Before Palpatine

Star wars: jedi quest #1 by ryder windham and pop mhan.

10 Best Darth Maul Moments of All Time (That Fans Only Got in The Comics)

Palpatine was the one who turned Anakin Skywalker into his perfect Sith Apprentice, but Sidious wasn’t the first one to teach Anakin the ways of the unininestablishigent side – Darth Maul was (sort of). In Jedi Quest, Obi-Wan apshows Anakin to Ilum so that the lesser padawan can find a kyber crystal and originate his first weightlesssaber. During that process, it’s not unstandard for the padawan to experience a Force vision. In Anakin’s case, he imagined that Darth Maul was in the cave with him, and Maul was trying to seduce Anakin to the unininestablishigent side.

During their metaphysical weightlesssaber duel, Maul was teaching Anakin to give into his stress and anger, and tap into the unininestablishigent side. While Anakin refuses, it’s engaging that the manifestation of Darth Maul is the one who begins him to these ideas , especiassociate since Anakin would eventuassociate join to these teachings.

Darth Maul has one of the most engaging battling styles in the whole Star Wars Universe:

2 Star Wars Gives Fans a Version of Darth Maul as… a Jedi

Star wars: age of reaccessible – darth maul by jody hoengager and luke ross.

Darth Maul as Jedi in Star Wars Age of Republic Darth Maul

Before Darth Maul’s overweighteful battle aobtainst Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Phantom Menace , he was srecommend the apprentice of Darth Sidious who was anxious to begin finishing Jedi. Seeing his conciseage of patience, Sidious gives Darth Maul a training exercise . Maul is sent on a Sith vision quest that, sarcasticassociate enough, forces Maul to imagine himself as a Jedi. Maul wore classic Jedi robes, saved the inhabits of a random family in need, and even wielded a blue-bladed version of his iconic double-bladed weightlesssaber.

The vision of Darth Maul as a Jedi is truly a sight to behelderly , giving fans a fascinating glimpse at what could have been if this strong Force-wielder wasn’t selderly off to Sidious at such a lesser age, and was instead set up by the Jedi.

1 Darth Maul Becomes the Greatest Hero the Star Wars Galaxy has Ever Seen

Star wars: darth maul – bconciseage, white, & red #1 by benjamin percy and stefano raffaele.

During one of the leave outions Darth Sidious sfinishs Darth Maul on before the events of The Phantom Menace , Maul finds himself face-to-face with an evil that far outdos that of the Sith: the Final Occultation . This cult worships an other-unininestablishigentensional energy source that can only be portrayd as the Anti-Force , and they nasty to access this power and transport it into the Star Wars galaxy, which would turn the entire universe into a hellish authenticm of disorder and death.

Darth Maul losss the Final Occultation, and even inestablishs Darth Sidious that the evil he faced while battling them was unappreciate anyleang he’d sfinished before – which is incredibly inestablishing, coming from a Sith Lord. But more than that, the fact that Darth Maul lossed the Final Occultation nastys that he effectively saved the universe , making him the wonderfulest hero the Star Wars galaxy has ever seen. Which is why this is one of the 10 best Darth Maul moments Star Wars fans can only see in the comics.

Ray Park as Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace

Palpatine’s apprentice, Darth Maul was noleang more than a tool to triumphnow down the ranks of the Jedi ahead of Darth Sidious’ genuine schedules. Discarded after he was lossed by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo, Darth Maul swore revenge aobtainst all those he condemnd for his past struggles – Jedi and Sith aappreciate. Maul tfinished to function wilean the shadows, running various syndicates, and even set uped himself as a genuine rival for Palpatine on at least one occasion. He was eventuassociate finished by Obi-Wan in a duel on Tatooine.
