Phones have great built-in cameras these days, a GoPro can be really helpful for recording memories without having to worry about your phone all day! I recently invested in a GoPro 10 and it has been a game-changer for making memories.

Plus, you likely don't want to worry about your phone in the water. It's easy to strap on your GoPro and capture memories without worrying about a thing.

🌊Floating Waterproof Phone Case

If you don't want to commit to a GoPro, a waterproof and floating phone case will do the trick! I love being able to capture memories on land and in the water! I didn't want to bring a good camera on my Stingray City tour in Grand Cayman , so I used this, and it worked great.

I don't go to any beach without my Turkish quick dry towe l. You've likely heard about them from Shark Tank a long time ago. I HATE sand. So, a towel that dries quickly and shakes the sand out easily is the towel for me.

If you are looking for a bit of a different and fun adventure, you have to come aboard the Jolly Pirate Sunset Sail Aruba. This excursion takes place on an actual “pirate” ship.

We did not take this tour personally, but we could see the ship from our boat. Guests had so much fun on the rope swing, jumping into the water. I was a little bit jealous (:

This Private Aqua Donut Island Dinner Tour in Aruba honestly looks like so much fun. You will float around in a small, circular tube boat.

The fun thing is, that the floating table is being set up for you in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. You will travel there with a speed boat.

Competition is not often associated with relaxation, but that is exactly how it went down for 100 beachgoers at an event hosted by Olympic gold medalist Shaun White in Aruba this month.

The event, which took place at Aruba's pristine Eagle Beach, drew from a pool of vacationers who applied after receiving a QR code while staying at hotels on the island.

Participants sat for more than an hour — disconnected from phones — during the beach's sunset with a calming breeze.

However, the event was not a total paradise.

Contestants were given heart monitors to track their heart rate. The competition threw "curveballs" at contestants to see if they could remain on island time amid turmoil around them.

"We would like throw in these curveballs to try to get people to get their heart rate accelerated," White said in an interview with NBC Local. "So we have like kids run through kicking sand or starting a squirt gun fight."

White said he had a blast hosting the event, and that people kept asking him how he would prepare for such an event.

White just advised people to remain calm and focus on the beautiful Caribbean island around them.

"I mean, it's pretty hard to get worked up while you're down there. Everyone's on island time it's just like the most relaxing, incredible place," White said.

The winner of the competition will be named the "World's Greatest Relaxer" when the competition airs in August.

Tropical Storm Beryl Tracker

Beryl was a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico Friday evening Central time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory .

The tropical storm had sustained wind speeds of 65 miles per hour. Follow our coverage here .

Where will it rain?

Flash flooding can occur well inland and away from the storm’s center. Even weaker storms can produce excessive rainfall that can flood low-lying areas.

What does the storm look like from above?

Satellite imagery can help determine the strength, size and cohesion of a storm. The stronger a storm becomes, the more likely an eye will form in the center. When the eye looks symmetrical, that often means the storm is not encountering anything to weaken it.

Beryl is the second named storm to form in the Atlantic in 2024.

In late May, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted that there would be 17 to 25 named storms this year, an above-normal amount.

This season follows an overly active year, with 20 named storms — including an early storm later given the official name of “Unnamed.” It was the eighth year in a row to surpass the average of 14 named storms. Only one hurricane, Idalia, made landfall in the United States.

Typically, the El Niño pattern that was in force last season would have suppressed hurricanes and reduced the number of storms in a season. But in 2023, the warm ocean temperatures in the Atlantic blunted El Niño’s usual effect of thwarting storms.

The warm ocean temperatures that fueled last year’s season returned even warmer at the start of this season, raising forecasters’ confidence that there would be more storms this year. The heightened sea surface temperatures could also strengthen storms more rapidly than usual.

To make matters worse, the El Niño pattern present last year is also diminishing, most likely creating a more suitable atmosphere for storms to form and intensify.

Hurricanes need a calm environment to form, and, in the Atlantic, a strong El Niño increases the amount of wind shear — a change in wind speed and/or direction with height — which disrupts a storm's ability to coalesce. Without El Niño this year, clouds are more likely to tower to the tall heights needed to sustain a powerful cyclone.
