You won't beat The Undertones for a fun loved evening out! I've seen them twice, Glasgow and London but will see them in Glasgow and hopefully Edinburgh very soon! Billy Doherty is a class act on drums and also a great guy, as are all the Undertones so don't miss them!!!!!!!!!

These guys do not disappoint! It's almost a best kept secret you want to keep to yourself, but then you can't share the brilliance and joy of seeing The Undertones live! 40 years and still just as awesome today as they were back in 79. Power Pop at it's best and a debut album "The Undertones" that stands up with The Buzzcocks "Another Music In A Different Kitchen" in my list of greatest albums ever! They evolved and grew and some just did not get it, but they produced hits throughout their days together. Adding some of their more recent recordings along with most of their many classics doesn't even sound out of place. Still as raw and energetic and performed as only The Undertones can! A great rock n roll performance by a great rock n roll band no matter which genre you want to put them in.

Great show last night in Somerville. The Untertones played all my favorites and the openers -- Dot-Dash -- were really good too. Happy to see people my age still rocking and they looked like they were having fun.

​The Undertones tour dates: 35 concerts in 6 countries

About the undertones.

The Undertones are a punk rock/new wave band formed in Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1974. From 1975 to 1983, the Undertones consisted of Feargal Sharkey (vocals), John O'Neill (rhythm guitar, vocals), Damian O'Neill (lead guitar, vocals), Michael Bradley (bass, vocals) and Billy Doherty (drums). Much of the earlier Undertones material drew influence from punk rock and new wave; the Undertones also incorporated elements of rock, glam rock and post-punk into material released after 1979, before citing soul and Motown as the influence for the material released upon their final album. The Undertones released thirteen singles and four studio albums between 1978 and 1983 before Sharkey announced his intention to leave the band in May 1983, citing musical differences as the reason for the break up. Despite the political climate in which the band had lived, the vast majority (though not all) of the material the band released focused not upon the Troubles, but upon issues such as adolescence, teenage angst and heartbreak. The merging of instruments has led AllMusic to state that guitarists John and Damian O'Neill "mated infectious guitar hooks to 1960s garage, 1970s glam rock, and Feargal Sharkey's signature vocal quaver." In 1999, the Undertones reformed, replacing lead singer Feargal Sharkey with Paul McLoone. The Undertones remain the most successful band to have emerged from Derry, and one of the most successful bands to have emerged from Northern Ireland.

The Undertones emerged from Derry in 1976, the result of five friends learning how to play basic rock and roll. Practicing in their bedrooms eventually led to the band recording ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978 on Terri Hooley's Good Vibrations label in Belfast. The legendary DJ John Peel received a copy and liked it so much he played it twice in a row on his radio show.

As Kid Cudi recovers from his broken foot, an injury sustained during a last-minute performance at this year's Coachella Festival , the rapper has issued an official statement regarding his canceled Insano Tour with a post to his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Cudi speaks to concerned fans confirming that his foot is healing well and that the Insano Tour instead of being canceled will be rescheduled to a later date, citing almost 80 percent of the dates have been reorganized.

"We have rescheduled about 80 percent of the tour... We just have to lock in some dates. I'll give you guys a heads up on when that will be and yea, Im excited man. The tour was going to be physically demanding, so I might have to change some things depending on how my recovery goes. I think I'll be good though, I think I'll make a full recovery" - Kid Cudi stated.

Through rain and storm (quite literally, in some cases), Swift’s makeup has not budged throughout her performances. Although her Eras makeup artist is yet to be revealed, an alleged leaking of Swift’s exact makeup routine on Instagram has unveiled her most used and favourite products.

Unsurprisingly, the list is almost entirely Pat McGrath , a legendary makeup artist who starred in the pop sensation’s Bejeweled music video.

Unless you’re looking to spend a small fortune on Pat McGrath Labs, here’s how you can recreate Swift’s unbudgeable glam look with similar products – some you may already have…

Start with a blank space

The importance of prep work is always relevant, whether you’re singing to 90,000 fans or priming your skin for a long-lasting look. Luckily, unless you’re Taylor Swift , you only have to focus on one of these at a time.

‘Draw the cat eye, sharp enough to kill a man…’, Swift sang on her album Midnight – a motto she stands by throughout her Eras makeup looks.

There is a subtle, but important difference between winged and cat-eye liner. Winged eyeliner is only on the top lid with a flicked-out end.

A cat-eye has the top winged out, but the bottom lid is also lined with the eyeliner connecting to the winged top, making a triangle shape.

If there’s one thing other than breakup songs that Swift can guarantee, it’s a crisp red lip. Converting gloss-devotees to the bold matte look, the star is selective with the shades and formulas she uses.

As a newbie to the statement lip, you should note that there is not just one shade of red to choose from – and what makes Swift’s matte red pop so much is the fact there’s a blue undertone.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour to end this December, singer announces

Sorry Swifties,  Taylor Swift  will not extend her record-breaking, behemoth  Eras Tour  to 2025.

"This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," the singer said sentimentally during her "All Too Well" speech before the 10-minute song.

"This tour has really become my entire life, it's taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies," she joked in her bedazzled red and black jacket. "All I do when I'm not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear."

Her acoustic section has become a fan-favorite, unique to every city. The singer began mashing up songs in 2024. Swift still has about  30 songs in her vast discography left to perform.

"You have done so much to be with us," she continued. "You've made plans so far in advance. You planned what you were going to wear. You memorized lyrics. You got yourself here. You figured out parking. You figured out transportation, and I want spend the 100th show just thinking about that and living in that moment and being here with you, and just know I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us when this show reaches triple digits in shows. So thank you!"

Taylor Swift's journey: Eras Tour 'spans 18 years of music'

In November 2022, Taylor Swift announced her magnum opus  on social media , "I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!"

The original post only showed 27 concerts over the course of a year. The demand quickly escalated that number to  66 shows for year one  and 86 for year two in 22 countries (U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Austria and Canada).

With  album announcements , music video reveals, special guests appearances and a  whole new "Tortured Poets" set  unveiled in Paris, France, the tour has continued to evolve and impress. Swift has broken attendance records for many stadiums across the world and countries have welcomed the singer in innovative ways. A hidden language of Swift-ese has developed in the form of friendship bracelets, custom concert chants ("1, 2, 3 let's go b****" and "Where you going Taylor?") and unforgettable dance moves. Tens of thousands of fans log on to watch livestreams every concert night anticipating Swift's outfits and  custom mashups  of songs not included in the massive  46-song set list .

A year of the Eras Tour: A look back at Taylor Swift's record-breaking show

Swift's concert movie  bypassed production studios as the singer worked directly with AMC as a distributor bringing fans dancing and singing in the aisles. The movie is available to  watch on Disney+ .

No word on if she will release a second movie with the newly scrambled show and additional set.

Swift is only a third of the way through her 51 European stops. In the fall, she will come back to North America, heading to Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis in October and November and then Canada. Her last show for 2024 is on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

NIKI releases astrologically-inspired single 'Blue Moon' new album buzz out Aug. 9

In celebration of the forthcoming album, NIKI will embark on her biggest tour spanning 41 markets in North America, Europe, the UK, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Jakarta-born, LA-based singer-songwriter NIKI revealed a new single titled “Blue Moon.” It follows the announcement of her upcoming album Buzz, out Aug. 9 via 88rising and flirtatious lead single “Too Much Of A Good Thing.”   The single, "Blue Moon," was crafted by NIKI during her 2023 Nicole World Tour in the aftermath of a four-year relationship. The term' Blue Moon' in astrology refers to a cosmic rarity, often associated with heightened clarity. 

NIKI, in a stroke of creative brilliance, taps into this energy, sharing her experience with vulnerability and openness, making this single a unique and compelling addition to her discography.   NIKI says "I wrote Blue Moon lamenting the slow, then sudden demise of a truly significant relationship. It’s about the deepest and rarest of loves we might stumble upon (once in the bluest of moons, if we’re lucky), and then realizing we’d stumbled upon it too early for it to stand a chance. It’s that classic trope of right person, wrong time."

"Blue Moon" is a testament to NIKI's versatility and talent, as she not only lent her vocals but also contributed to the drums, guitar, and piano. The single is a collaborative effort, co-produced with her close friend and collaborator Ethan Gruska. 

The song is further elevated by the heart-wrenching violin, viola, and string arrangements from the renowned multi-instrumentalist Rob Moose, known for his work with  Bon Iver, The National, St. Vincent, and many more, adding a layer of depth and emotion to the track.

The accompanying music video, directed by Ivana Bobic, combines the moody undertones of NIKI’s lyrics with a scene reminiscent of the flying house in The Wizard of Oz. While writing the song, NIKI kept The Wizard of Oz in mind when imagining "the cruelest cyclone , " throwing the circumstances around the relationship into chaos.

What eventually became  Buzz , the third studio album by singer-songwriter and globally renowned star NIKI, started with an urgent quake from the innermost core of her being. What surfaced in its wake was a collection of warm, stirring folk-rock songs, which crackle and flare like a bonfire between close confidantes. “I went through an identity crisis,” says the 25-year-old of  Buzz . “It took a lot of trial and error, and I just stumbled upon pieces of myself along the way. I named it  Buzz  because it feels like I'm on the precipice of something about to happen.”

For NIKI, things have been happening progressively since she was a high schooler in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a student at an international academy, she cut her teeth scribbling lovesick poems in English class and performed acoustic guitar covers of American pop songs on YouTube. With a six-string in hand, and her family and classmates cheering her on from the audience, Nicole Zefanya then staked her claim to global stardom as NIKI.
