MGM Grand Buffet Price, Menu, and Hours

The MGM Grand Buffet offers a daily brunch buffet from 8 am to 3 pm that seems a bit tired and has mediocre food. No dinner option is available.

The MGM Grand Buffet is one of the lower-end buffets on the Strip, and there are better buffets right off the Strip for the same or lower price!

During the week, the buffet is $31.99 per person. Kids ages 5 to 11 are 17.99. If you have a little one under the age of 5, their meal is on the house.

Of course, things get a little fancier on the weekends, so showing up on the weekend will cost a little more. Buffet prices from Friday to Sunday are $37.99 per adult and $18.99 for kids.

You can save 15% by showing your MGM Rewards card at the buffet.

Brunch Buffet Menu

There are both hot and cold stations at the buffet, with options like made-to-order omelets at the omelet station with all the good stuff you want packed into them. 

Breakfast Items

Expect to find other morning meal favorites like light, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, eggs of all types, baked ham, and breakfast sides galore. There are also fresh pastries and fruit to satisfy that morning sweet tooth.

But let’s say that you’re just not that into typical breakfast fare. Your idea of starting the day right involves digging your fork into assorted fresh fish at the seafood station or the perfect smoked salmon on a freshly toasted bagel.

The seafood bar has some options, but there are certainly better seafood buffets in Las Vegas .

Carving Station

You’ll find more favorites at the carving station, like perfect prime rib, baked ham, roasted turkey, and more.

The MGM Grand buffet opens at 8 am daily, so you can get an extra early start to your day of exploring Las Vegas.

Obviously, this isn’t the spot for dinner with closing time at 3pm, but if it’s carving station meats, or the fresh, made-to-order omelet station that you’re after, then the MGM is a decent, budget-friendly choice.

Location & Parking

The MGM Grand Buffet is at 3799 Las Vegas Blvd, shown on the map below.

Once you get inside the MGM Grand, follow your way to the red arrow shown below. If you’re entering from the Strip or the Tropicana Bridge, the Buffet is right in the middle of everything.

Self parking at MGM Grand is on the East side of the building near the monorail and rideshare. So you’ll need to walk to the far west side to get to the Buffet.

Reservations

Reservations at the Buffet at MGM Grand are not required and rarely needed, but you can make reservations online here .

Is there a dress code for the MGM Grand buffet?

The MGM Grand Buffet is a casual environment, so there is no dress code. Just keep in mind the environment you’re in and dress appropriately so that you feel comfortable, although loose clothing isn’t a bad idea if you plan on stuffing yourself.

Do you still have fried fish and fried shrimp at the brunch buffet

MGM Grand doesn’t post their full buffet menu online, so we can’t say with 100% certainty what they serve. Based on recent customer reviews and the wide range of food items in the buffet, though, we would be shocked if they don’t offer fried fish and shrimp.

Is the 3:00 pm closing time or latest entry for the buffet. We are going to the KA’ show at 7:00 pm and hoping to not have too much of a wait in between eating at the buffet and sitting for the show. Thanks.

Hi Nikki, The buffet closes at 3 PM. If you want a spot to kill time before the show or grab a drink after the show, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is located right across from KA Theatre and stays open until 2 – 3 AM, depending on the day of the week.

No, once you leave the buffet you’re done. The Buffet of Buffets pass used to let you go to multiple buffets for one price, but that has been discontinued.

We paid 40 dollars for brunch on a Friday and it does not include any free alcohol. Also vegerarian options were very limited. They did refund us our money, however.

Yes, the MGM Buffet is open on New Years Eve. To reserve a table you must call (702) 891-1111. Unfortunately, you can’t book online, and they charge $15 per person for any reservations made over the phone – a bit of a scam if you ask me.

MGM Grand Buffet Review – Take a Look Inside!

Key Points:

• MGM Grand’s buffet isn’t one that’ll blow you away with luxury or exotic menu items – It’s a “working class buffet”.
• With that being said, I found the food to be spectacularly tasty, especially the breakfast potatoes. Holy.
• In my opinion, MGM’s buffet is one of the better “mid-tier” options in town, edging out similarly priced offerings at Luxor and Excalibur.

MGM Grand is among the most imposing resorts on the Strip, boasting a whopping 5,000+ hotel rooms, an enormous casino, and a sprawling pool complex.

While MGM Grand is a frequent stop of mine, the buffet is something I had yet to experience. With that in mind, I stopped in for brunch recently and look forward to sharing what I found.

Now, I feel it’s important to get this out of the way up front. MGM Grand’s buffet isn’t one that I would rank in the upper echelon of Las Vegas buffets that includes Wicked Spoon at Cosmo , Bacchanal at Caesars , The Buffet at Wynn , and The Buffet at Bellagio .

Instead, The Buffet at MGM Grand sits in a unique position on the spectrum of buffets – Smack dab in the middle when it comes to both price and quality. More on that below, with plenty of pictures!

MGM Grand Buffet Pricing and Hours

The MGM Grand Buffet is open daily for brunch from 8 am – 3 pm.

Weekday pricing is $31.99, and the cost increases to $37.99 on the weekend. Children under the age of 5 always eat free.

All-you-can-drink adult beverages can be added for $21.99 (beer, wine, and mimosas), or $25.99 if you want well-drinks included.

MGM Grand Buffet Menu Items

As a brunch buffet, both breakfast and lunch options were available.

On the breakfast side of things was the typical collection of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, waffles, and pancakes. Biscuits and gravy as well as breakfast flautas were also available.

I kicked off my consumption with a mountain of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and “loaded” breakfast potatoes. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the potatoes were among the tastiest I’ve ever had.

Next, I dove into the baked items, piling up a stack of pancakes, french toast, and waffles. Again, I was impressed with the quality.

Among the more popular breakfast options was the live-action omelet station that allowed you to select which meats and vegetables to include in your creation.

One of the few disappointments I had in the Buffet at MGM Grand was the absence of prime rib from the carving station. While there were meat options, they were limited to roasted turkey, ham, and top round steak. If you must have prime rib, this buffet may not be for you.

Other lunch-focused items included crawfish, mussels, shrimp, stuffed peppers, BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, soup, and an expansive salad bar.

Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t share a few pictures of the dessert counter.

Is the MGM Grand Buffet Worth the Money?

Usually, I’m drawn to buffets at either end of the price/quality spectrum and am rarely excited by ones in the middle. I like to either spend up for something upscale or save a few bucks by finding value at an inexpensive buffet. MGM Grand’s Buffet is an exception. I liked it.

While lacking the unique and “fancy” food options found at more expensive buffets, The Buffet at MGM Grand delivered a rock-solid experience at a price point that won’t destroy your bankroll. Offering a steep discount when compared to top-tier options, the buffet allows you to save money while not having to endure the questionable cuisine served at bargain bin buffets.

This is a blue-collar buffet that knows its identity. The menu is unsurprising but I found it to be legitimately good – Especially the loaded breakfast potatoes.

While both The Buffet at Luxor and The Buffet at Excalibur offer similarly priced buffets nearby, I found this one to be the best of the 3.

If saving a few bucks is more important than having access to menu items like “Squid Ink Pasta”, “Bone Marrow with Mustard Creme” or “Wild Boar” then MGM Grand’s buffet could be for you. The food was good, the buffet was clean, and I left satisfied.

This might be the worst buffet I’ve ever had. My husband and I arrived at 8 AM when they opened because we had an all day trip planned and wanted to have breakfast before we left our hotel. Most everything on the Buffet was luke warm or cold at best, and not really that good. The coffee really wasn’t even that hot for them being opened less than five minutes when we arrived. Also, the price of the Buffet is absolutely outrageous!

I'm not sure when this was written but we were there last week and didn't see any seafood, chicken, desserts like your pictures show or more than lettuce and if I remember carrots posing as a "salad bar." Your pictures must be from stock photos. The other thing noticeably missing was a line to get into the buffet. It doesn't take long for the word to get out. It was really sad to see that quality and pride in their buffets was another casualty of the pandemic.

Ugh! Sorry to hear your experience wasn't great. These pictures were taken just a few months back, so pretty recent. Hopefully it was just an "off" day for them.

@Andrea Montoya, look into the “off strip” casinos. Most of them supply FREE transportation to/from your location to the strip. Most run shuttles up to 11:00 pm.

@Tom Thomas, I meant to say that the Gold Cost/Orleans strip shuttle shut down 5-1-22. I used to love that shuttle.

I couldn’t eat $27 or $38 dollars worth of food….but they force you too with those prices. You do the math…2 adults ,2 teenage kids at least twice a day and you know kids,they “pick”,well that will cost you $27.00 each.eat just Mac and cheese….that’ll be $27. As a local, I get comped for my meals or at least get a sizable $$ coupon for the light meal I eat. I wouldn’t eat there otherwise. Buffets on the strip are for tourists only….they count of you to put up huge amounts of cash for eating there.

Located in the MGM Grand Casino, the Buffet is easy to find. Starting from the MGM Grand front desk, walk through the casino towards the Avenue Café then turn left and continue through the casino.

Go past the Jabbawockeez Theater, and the buffet is on the right before the BetMGM Sportsbook.

Also, starting from the Strip, all you have to do is enter through the Las Vegas Boulevard entrance. Go past Centrifuge and BetMGM Sportsbook and the buffet will be visible on the left.

The first thing you notice when you enter the venue is the outdated décor and simplistic ambiance. It is not a bad setting by any means but you will start to miss the sophistication of other Strip buffets if you have ever been.

There are no thematic decors like those you would find at the Excalibur Buffet or the modern exotic looks of the Bacchanal Buffet.

MGM Grand buffet features warm lighting with lots of brown marble hues and cream undertones. Scarce plant vases populated the stations giving it a more outdoor-like experience and adding some warmth to the venue.

A gypsum ceiling adds depth and space to the buffet and features a classic look that is a bit conservative but extremely functional.

We are sad to see that the MGM Grand buffet has lost its former glory. It lags behind other Strip buffets that offer more menu options, better deals, and feature impressive ambiance.

The buffet makes up for it by offering a wide range of dishes and competitive prices with less than $38 meals.

This is cheaper than most Strip buffets like the $49 – $67 Bellagio buffet but still more expensive than the cheaper $30 meals at Circus Circus Buffet and the $28 – $32 meals at the Excalibur Buffet.

MGM Grand Overview

The MGM Grand buffet used to be the king of buffets before other Strip hotels underwent renovations before and during the 2020 Pandemic closures.

Bacchanal Buffet is such an example that underwent a $2.4 million makeover to bring roaming carts and over 100 new cuisines. MGM Grand buffet has not done any changes to its appearance or menu, giving it a classic look, albeit a bit outdated in sight of its competitions.

Despite its traditional demeanor, the MGM Grand buffet stands as one of the most essential Las Vegas buffets to date. It brings you all the buffet dishes you expect from a Las Vegas venue and in bigger quantity.

In the past, the buffet had breakfast, lunch and dinner sittings, but now it offers a single combined breakfast and brunch sitting every day, lasting until 3pm. There are currently no lunch or dinner sittings, although these may return in the future.

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are slightly more expensive, but a wider selection of food is offered on those days, and the price includes selected drinks – including some alcoholic drinks.

There is also add unlimited beers, wines, and mimosas for a supplement.

This buffet is most famous for its selection of American food, so for American breakfast and brunch dishes, you’ll be spoiled for choice. However, that’s not to say there’s no food from elsewhere, and other popular international dishes are also present.

MGM Grand Buffet Menu

Since this buffet focuses on American classics, you can expect to find all your breakfast and brunch favorites.

For fans of omelets, you can have them made to order, just the way you like them – there are two stations for this, which helps to keep the wait times down. You can also expect to find a delicious take on eggs Benedict if that’s what you’re in the mood for.

It almost goes without saying that you can look forward to a full range of other savory breakfast items such as scrambled egg, bacon, assorted sausages, ham, corned beef hash and much more.

Those with a sweet tooth will also be well catered for with staples such as pancakes, waffles or French bread to choose from.

However, if you’re paying to eat at the MGM Grand buffet, you’ll probably want to be a little more adventurous than that – in which case, you won’t be disappointed.

For dedicated carnivores, there are multiple carving stations, and there’s a deli area where you’ll be able to find a respectable range of cold meats.

There’s a cereal section, but this is more of an afterthought since not many people are likely to be eating corn flakes in a buffet. Of more interest will be the pastry area, or alternatively, if you’re in the mood for something more extravagant, be sure not to miss the seafood section.

If you prefer to keep it healthy, you’ll find a station with things like fruits and yogurts, and if all that wasn’t enough – and this being the MGM Grand, after all – there’s even a dessert area for you to finish your breakfast or brunch off with something sweet. If you have space, that is!

This is far from being a comprehensive list of everything you’ll find, but in short, it’s clear that this is a buffet that has something for all tastes.

While it might not be able to match the sheer range of the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace or the creativity and sophistication of Wicked Spoon at The Cosmopolitan, for a wide range of delicious food options at an accessible price, this is a buffet that’s hard to beat.

Some Dishes To Look Out For

The specific food on offer may change and rotate with the seasons, but here are some of the particular highlights to look out for at the MGM Grand buffet:

• Classic savory breakfast and brunch items

The made-to-order omelets are excellent, as are the various eggs Benedict options. The breakfast potatoes are also worth trying.

Another one to leave space for is the smoked salmon bagels, and there’s also a great mac and cheese for those in need of their comfort food fix.

• Classic sweet breakfast items

Don’t miss the buttermilk pancakes or the delicious Belgian-style waffles.

The full range of dessert pastries includes favorites like croissants and assorted breads – and be sure not to skip the banana nut muffins.

• Carving stations

Look out for the brisket, roast turkey, prime rib and baked ham among many other succulent delights.

One of the highlights of the whole buffet is the snow crab legs, but you should also keep an eye out for shrimp cocktail, mussels, clams, oysters and crayfish. There are several sushi options to try too.

You should try to sample some of the sweet treats such as the Bailey’s cheesecake, cookies, doughnuts, pies, the parfait cups, the mousse or the brownies.

• All You Can Drink (AYCD)

There are not many buffets in the Las Vegas Strip that have AYCD packages. Only a few have better offerings like the Champagne brunch at Market Place Buffet and the Beverage Package of Bellagio Buffet with a wider range of cocktails, margaritas, and draft beers.

On the MGM Grand buffet menu, you get to choose between two AYCD packages, both of which are served in plastic cups for easier disposability and environmental concerns.

Choose the Daily Basic package if you are not a fun of well liquors. The basic plan comes with unlimited options of wines, beers, and Mimosas while the Daily Premium packages adds unlimited well liquors to that list.

Self-parking and valet parking  are available at the MGM Grand resort, although most people will have to pay. However, those participating in certain membership rewards schemes can park for free – check the details of your plan if you think you might be eligible.

Self-parking is free for the first hour only. Charges start $15 for 1-4 hours, and can go up to $23 per day. Valet start at $35 on weekdays and $40 on weekends.

Residents of Nevada with valid Nevada driver’s licenses are eligible to 3 hours of complimentary self-parking.

The MGM Grand Buffet has one of the largest selections of classic American foods available on the Las Vegas Strip.

The buffet is open seven days a week and offers breakfast, brunch, and dinner with elevated selections on the weekends. The dress code is casual, and so is the atmosphere at The MGM Grand Buffet .

Recently the MGM Grand Buffet stopped offering table service for drinks, so now guests have to get their own pop, milk, tea, water, and flavored waters so you’ll no longer need to tip the waitress or waiter.

Coupons and Discounts At The MGM Grand Buffet

One of the best ways to get a great deal at The MGM Grand Buffet is to book the Bed and Breakfast Offer through the MGM Grand that includes a free breakfast or lunch buffet pass with every night that you stay at the MGM. You should also sign up for the M life Rewards program.

MGM will sometimes send coupons and dining offers through email to Mlife members, and if you gamble at the hotel you could get yourself comped a buffet pass if you’re spending or betting a lot.

MGM also partners with several travel businesses such as Southwest airlines where you get receive comped buffet passes for booking travel packages or attending timeshare presentations.

You should also visit the MGM Grand Buffet when special events aren’t going on in town because prices will be closer to average.

When significant events are happening in the city, MGM and other hotels often raise their dining prices. If you can get up a little bit early, snag a place in line for the early bird breakfast when prices are at their lowest between 7 am, and 9 am.

Take advantage of the MGM Grand Buffet Unlimited Drinks, which include alcohol on the weekend for brunch and dinner service. Mimosas and champagne are included with brunch, and for just $9 more you can add on bottomless Bloody Mary’s, Bellinis, and Margaritas.

During dinner, unlimited beer and wine are included with dinner, and you can get the same brunch upgrade for bottomless Bloody Mary’s and more. The weekday brunch includes alcohol for just $9 more and the bottomless menu for $15 extra.

Drinking can be expensive on the strip, and when you can get unlimited alcohol at the MGM Grand Buffet, you can save quite a bit of money.
