    Re: Uber Question. Jul 29, 2024, 4:22 AM. Most of the time in the city centre public transport is quicker than taxi, as well as being much cheaper. That's deliberate, by the way. Besides the fact that Amsterdam centre wasn't built with cars in mind, because there weren't many about in the 17th and 18th centuries, fewer cars means nicer city.
