Vasco Live 022 Tour Sets a Trend for zactrack

Italian showman and megastar vasco rossi completed his "live 022" stadium tour this summer,, comprising 11 spectacular, sold-out concert performances watched enthusiastically by three quarters of a million fans, with lighting designed by vasco's long-term ld, giovanni pinna..

Giovanni took the 71-metre-wide stage and over 1000 square meters of video surface in Gio Forma studio's set concept as a starting point for lighting. He also seized the opportunity to incorporate some interesting technical innovations in the design including a zactrack SMART system to which he assigned multiple moving lights to follow the artist and band at strategic moments throughout this epic show.

Giovanni first saw zactrack in action at a demo in a theatre in Rimini earlier in the year.

He was immediately impressed with its flexibility and envisioned how it could eliminate the need for over-stage follow spots on large shows. Having previously used other tracking systems, he realised the potential, and after a chat about programming and integrating cues via the lighting console, fully appreciated the user-friendliness, flexibility, and robustness of zactrack .

This was followed by a further and more in-depth walk-through of a zactrack set up at RM Multimedia, thebrand's Italian distributor, based in Cattolica, with a view to spec'ing it onto the forthcoming Vasco tour to replace five onstage follow spots with a range of tracking fixtures - which he then did. The tour used a 2 server / 10 tracker (transmitter) zactrack SMART with 11 anchors (receivers) dotted around the stage, which was purchased by the tour's lighting contractor BOTW and tech'd on the road by

Marco Di Febo from RMM. This is a similar style to how audio departments have a radio mic tech.

zactrack uses an innovative (Ultra-Wide-Band) real-time radio tracking technology to make the

challenging task of tracking performers smooth and adaptable. Advanced mathematics calculate and locate the correct position and orientation of the fixture in 3D space for the precise tracking of the target. A single zactrack server enables the simultaneous control of lighting fixtures, video effects and 3D sound. "It is fantastic, there is no complicated wiring up or sensors involved, the artist just drops the tag into a pocket, and it is good to go," he explained.

Two special pouches were sewn into Vasco's belt, one at the front and one at the back, for concealing his trackers and he also absolutely loved the system! "It's great having a system that is so comfortable for the artist," noted Giovanni.

In addition to Vasco, the two guitarists and two bassists were all double tagged and followed as they enthusiastically sprinted around and utilised the massive stage and set area. "It was brilliant – simple, easy and dependable," stated Giovanni, highlighting that he could have used much of his 500+ fixture lighting rig on the zactrack , but chose to hone it down to 49 luminaires for maximum effect.

These were mainly Robe MegaPointes and some Robe Spiider LED wash beams, all of which are light and very fast, making them ideal to pair with a zactrack system. The furthest fixture was around 21 metres from the stage. The crew were also happy with this solution as it meant they did not have to rig and set up the five onstage spots for each show.

Marco co-ordinated and managed all the zactrack fixture assignment while Giovanni took care of

programming the dimmer, zoom and iris on each of these lights, commenting it was a "very easy" process vto assign and programme the zactrack movements into his grandMA2 console.

Different groups of fixtures were assigned to the musicians and integrated into the cue list and zactrack cues ran throughout the blockbusting two and a half hour set as Vasco thrilled the crowds with his charisma and stagecraft for which he constantly needed back light.

This alternated between, 4, 6 and 8 x MegaPointes depending on whereabouts he was on the stage. Giovanni had all these zactrack lights immediately to hand on a fader controlling just the dimmer to have an instantly accessible quick balance for the camera crew when needed.

He and Marco fine-tuned everything after the first couple of gigs, with Marco noting that he needed to calibrate the anchors just once over all 11 dates of the tour, while the fixtures were recalibrated for each show which was extremely quick.

Giovanni was delighted with the results. "I will definitely be using this system again," he concluded.

3-Day Basque Country Itinerary

Planning to explore the north of Spain – how about the Basque Country? – Check this 3-day Basque Country Itinerary to enjoy this unique region, rich in traditions, iconic landmarks, and natural wonders.

Summers in Spain

While the Spanish summers mostly drive countless international visitors to the Mediterranean coast (for a reason to be fair), me and my family constantly take road trips somewhere in the opposite direction. That´s already a well-routed tradition.

Being an expat in the province of Castellon for 15 years and living on the Mediterranean coast all year round has spoilt me irrevocably. I am so used to having this wonderful seaside to myself all year round that I cannot tolerate sharing it with the crowds. Spain is such a diverse country in terms of landscapes , but most of the locals spend summers the same way – at the beach. Even northern Spain beaches are trending despite the tricky weather.

All roads point to the north

So, where to travel in Spain during these 2 summer months of July and August is a constant puzzle for me to solve. It requires patience, planning, and creativity. Most of the coastal areas are overcrowded and overpriced. Central Spain with its Don Quijote Route , my favorite Toledo , has nowhere to hide from the summer heat. Off-the-beaten-track regions, like Teruel and Cuenca , are too sunny in hot in the summer months as well.

So what is left? – The Northern Spain and the Spanish Pyrenee s, of course. These two are the constant attributes of my summer vacation plans. Honestly, no summer feels complete without a trip to the Northern regions or the mountains.

Let me share with you the highlights of our last long weekend in the Basque Country or Pais Vasco in Spanish. If you don´t know where to head in Spain next – grab this 3-day Basque Country itinerary. It is known for its dramatic landscapes, unique landmarks, delicious cuisine, and rich local traditions.

What is the Basque Country known for

In case the Basque Country is a completely new destination for you, let me fill you in with a few important details about the region.

So, the Basque Country is a free-spirited land located on the territories of both modern Spain and France. You have the main capitals of Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz, and San Sebastian in Spain, and Bayonne is already in France. The most traditional architecture of the Basque Country includes white chalet-style homes with red or green shutters. These are often set across the green hills or by the ocean.

The Basque Country has a complicated and dramatic relationship history with Spain. I recommend you to research, and watch a few documentaries in order to understand better the region and its people. Also, the HBO TV Series Patria (based on one of the best-selling Spanish novels ) is good to get an insider glimpse of the tragic past. The Spanish hit movie Ocho Apellidos Vascos (2014), also called The Spanish Affair , set in the Basque Country, is a funny example of the differences between the North and the South of Spain.

The local language of Euskera is one of the oldest ones spoken in Europe and has no clear links to other EU languages.

Local cuisine is highly influenced by the natural setting of the Basque country – ocean, mountains, and vineyards. The local gastronomic invention everyone should try is definitely pintxo, a delicious small bite with local ingredients. Other local delicatessens include – Marmitako (a fish stew), Bacalao a la Vizcaina (a cod in a tomato sauce), txipirones (baby squid in their own ink), cheese Idiazabal , and Goxua (a sponge cake topped with custard).

Where to stay in the Basque Country

You can find the biggest selection of hotels in Bilbao or San Sebastian:

First and foremost, let me specify that this trip was not my first time in Basque Country. I lived for a year and a half in Pamplona (during my MBA studies) and took day trips to both Bilbao and San Sebastian back then. So, on this Basque Country Itinerary, I visited the cities briefly, while focusing more on the region.

Both Bilbao and San Sebastian have quite a bunch of things to do for more than one day each, especially if you´re into modern art and museums.

Day 1: Bilbao + Hayedo de Otzareta

My morning in the Basque country started in an otherworldly beautiful place – Hayedo de Otzareta . We took a coffee to go and left the busy Bilbao to enjoy the silence of nature. Hayedo de Otzarreta  is an absolute Spanish Magical Forest located in Gorbeia Natural Park, within a 50-minute drive from Bilbao.

Officially, Hayedo de Otzarreta reaches its top beauty peak in the autumn months, but even in summer, it looks like one of the Spanish storybook places . As we got there relatively early (before 10 a.m.) – it was such an unforgettable quiet moment with no soul around. Hopefully, on my next trip to Basque Country, I will get a chance to explore more of Gorbeia Natural Park and add a few epic trails to my list of Spanish hikes .

The lunch hour and evening we spent in Bilbao, enjoying the street architecture and the Guggenheim Museum.

Day 2: San Juan de Gaztelugatxe + Bermeo + Zumaia

The next day’s top stop on my 3-day Basque Country itinerary was San Juan de Gaztelugatxe , one of the iconic Game of Thrones filming locations in Spain and one of the most popular fairytale places in Spain .

It is one of those picture-perfect locations you should definitely experience at least once in a lifetime. 241 steps (dating back to the Xth century) will take you to the Church of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe .

This place is surrounded by myths, legends, and historical events, starting from the saint San Juan (after whom the church was named) to the pirates. Some also consider it to be one of the most mysterious and haunted places in Spain , as in the times of witch-hunting during the Spanish Saint Inquisition, local witches would unite in the area to cast their spells.

Keep in mind that it is actually quite a hike all the way to the top. Influencers wearing pretty dresses might look good in photos, but the truth is that you’d better be wearing comfortable shoes (it rains quite often and the path might be slippery). Also, as the place has become very touristy lately, you should book your entrance online in advance . 

By lunch, we were done with seeing San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and headed to the cute small town of Bermeo. In one of the local restaurants, we tried Basque cuisine, including Marmitako and Goxua . And simply enjoyed a walk through the old port of Bermeo.

Also, near Bermeo, Bilbao, and Gaztelugatxe you´ll find one of the dreamiest Spanish castles – the Butron Castle. It´s a private property, so you cannot get inside. But the castle looks so unique even from the outside, that it´s worth a stop. Especially if you have an extra moment on your Basque Country itinerary.

On our way back to Bilbao, we also visited Zumaia Beach, known for some of  the most beautiful cliffs in Spain . The landscape of Zumaia looks out of this world beautiful. A series of strata formations rise vertically from the sea while creating an ultimate unearthly effect. Usually, layered rocks form when particles settle from water or air.

While the beach itself was quite busy, its uniqueness makes it a must-stop on every Basque Country itinerary. No wonder, Zumaia Beach also appeared in GOT .

Day 3: San Sebastian + Hondarribia

While I have previously visited San Sebastian a few times, it´s still one of my favorite places to go in Spain . It can´t be missed on your Basque Country Itinerary, even if you are not a first-timer. San Sebastian is extremely beautiful and definitely feels like one of the most romantic cities in Spain .

You might have heard that the Basque Country is  one of the best dining destinations in the world , with 40 Michelin-starred restaurants over only 21000 square km. So, besides its unmatched beauty, San Sebastian is a paradise for foodies.

The star-dish is the pintxo , a mini-bite all laid out in front of you. Every year there´s a local competition – Euskal Herria Pintxo Championship , with bars and restaurants battling for the best yummy creations. If it´s your first time in San Sebastian, I´d recommend you take a  pintxo  tour or at least research the recent winners to make the most of your foodie experience in the city. Although it´s almost impossible to choose a bad place to dine since everything is delicious. You can spend a whole evening  pintxo-hopping  from bar to bar. Pay attention to the walls, they usually display certificates from past  pintxo  competitions, so you´ll know exactly what to order. Also, those with a sweet tooth can´t miss the cheesecake at La Viña.

Basically, we´ve spent a whole day strolling along San Sebastian´s Bay of Concha and the atmospheric Old Town, while checking a few pintxo  bars. Monte Igeldo and its iconic views could not be missed either.

On our way back to the hotel we made a quick stop in Hondarribia, one of the most colorful villages in Spain and enjoyed a delicious ice cream by the ocean.

Additional tips

As you might have figured out – this Basque Country itinerary requires one to travel by car. For me, it´s the most common way of exploring new hidden gems across different Spanish regions .

Nevertheless, you can easily spend a long weekend in the Basque Country without renting a car, if you focus on the cities. While staying in Bilbao, you can easily take a day trip from Bilbao to San Sebastian or Vittoria-Gazteiz. Each city is worth spending at least a day in. Also, there are companies offering organized tours to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and other GOT filming locations.

• Salt Valley of Añana
• Tolosa (to try local sweets – tejas, xaxus, cigarillos )

I would love to visit that magical-looking forest. Those trees are so incredible. And those castles! I would love to go to Basque country.

I would love to go to Basque country some time. I heard a lot about it because one of my best friends who is from Quebec married a Basque girl, and it was interesting that their two places both wanted to separate from their country.

I would love to visit the haunted church Not only is the architecture beautiful it’s also surrounded in mystery I also LOVE food so the fact that there’s so many restaurants is an added bonus.

We had a short first visit to the Basque area in Spain. This post shows me so much more to see on a return visit. We would definitely not want to miss San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. And we certainly want to spend some time in San Sebastian.

I loved travelling through the Basque region in Spain and France. The food was incredible, particularly the tapas in Spain.

My friend visited San Sebastian on a trip to Barcelona and Paris and loved it! This seems like such a great itinerary to explore the Basque Region. I would love to visit. I hear the food is amazing!

We spent some time in San Sebastien and toured around the surrounding area a few years back. I have been dying to go back and spend some more time there. The food was heaven for me!!

Vasco Caves Regional Preserve exists because of the combined efforts of the East Bay Regional Park District and the Contra Costa Water District. The property was jointly acquired by both agencies and is operated by the Park District in agreement with CCWD.  All access is by advance reservation guided tours only. The Preserve is not open to general public access in order to protect the Reserve's unique resources . These guided tours, which are offered on select dates in fall, winter, and spring, stage from  Round Valley Regional Preserve  in Brentwood or  Brushy Peak Regional Preserve  in Livermore aboard District-provided bus transportation. There is a fee. For tour information and reservations, please call 1-888-EBPARKS or  1-888-327-2757 , press option 2 or go to the  Registration Page  and search for keyword "Vasco". 

To Reach The Park

Tour groups stage at  Round Valley Regional Preserve  or  Brushy Peak Regional Preserve , then take shuttle bus into Vasco Caves Regional Preserve. 

Vasco Caves Regional Preserve is home to a stunning and unique combination of resources. Spectacular rock outcrops break suddenly from the rolling eastern foothills of Mount Diablo, providing magnificent scenery for hikers and geologists alike. Though ancient, the Preserve's resources are extraordinarily fragile, and exist today because of the land's isolation and past efforts to keep it secret.

The Preserve is home to endangered red-legged frogs, tiger salamanders, and fairy shrimp, and is habitat for kit foxes, eagles, and a variety of nesting raptors. Its robust grasslands are a successful demonstration of native bunchgrass restoration using sheep grazing. The archaeological sites of Vasco Caves Regional Preserve contain Indian rock art, part of a complex that reaches back nearly 10,000 years. 

Because of the sensitivity of Vasco Caves' resources--rare, state- and federally-listed plant and wildlife species, fragile rock outcrops, and Native American archaeological sites, EBRPD has opened the preserve to the public on a restricted basis through Naturalist-led interpretive tour groups. Trayectoria

1950 - 2020, nuestros comienzos.

Nuestros orígenes se remontan a los primeros años de la década del 50, cuando su fundador, el Sr. Roberto Rodolfo Ezcurdia, se aventuró a asumir la gran responsabilidad de transportar personas. En poco tiempo su tesón, esfuerzo inclaudicable, y su fuerte vocación de trabajo, le permitieron poner la piedra fundamental de su obra.

Se forja una empresa

Transcurridos casi 20 años de labor, el “Vasco” comenzó a mostrar su personalidad de empresario, cuando con gran esfuerzo logró cambiar la casa donde vivía con su familia en la calle Bolívar, en la zona más antigua de la ya por entonces ciudad de Hurlingham, por la vieja casa en la calle Necochea, en la zona que se denominaba Villa Alemania. Se trataba de un predio mucho más grande que aunque todavía, a la intemperie les permitía hacer las reparaciones mecánicas de las pocas unidades con las que contaban, en el interior de sus terrenos, y no más en la calle como antes. Hoy ese mismo predio es la base de operaciones.

Nuevas oportunidades

A mediados de la década del 80, cuando los ferrocarriles estatales maltrataban a los usuarios, por la insuficiencia y calidad de sus servicios, y las redes viales comenzaban a mostrar algunos indicios de actualización (Autopista 25 de Mayo), iniciaron una etapa exitosa con los servicios de charter que, actualmente mantienen.

Nace "Vascotour"

Toda esta actividad, que en su momento fue de crecimiento exponencial, requería de un marco societario acorde. Una vez más la mente del empresario inteligente que fuera el “Vasco”, encontró la denominación adecuada. “Vascotour”, el nombre de fantasía que reunía la actividad desarrollada, con los orígenes y la denominación que en Hurlingham había ganado un lugar por usos y costumbres, “El Vasco”.

Hoy, con mas de 70 años de trayectoria, la familia continúa con la labor heredada; trabajando con la seriedad y honestidad que los caracterizó siempre. Demostrando día a día su vocación por el transporte e incorporando nuevas tecnologías para brindar el mejor servicio.

Vascotour se compromete a impulsar medidas de prevención y cumplir con las ya dispuestas, con el objetivo de cuidar a nuestros trabajadores, usuarios y comunidad. Para ello intensificamos la limpieza y desinfección de unidades diariamente . Además de la limpieza externa del vehículo, se realiza la limpieza interna con un último paso de desinfección.

• Al inicio y finalización de cada servicio el conductor pulveriza el interior de la unidad con una solución de 70% alcohol y 30% agua (cabezales, pasamanos, sujeciones, etc.).
• Todas las unidades poseen alcohol en gel para que los pasajeros puedan utilizar al ascender y descender.
• El conductor se encuentra aislado mediante una cortina de PVC.
• Durante las esperas, los vehículos permanecen con puertas y ventanas abiertas para favorecer su ventilación. En caso que el clima lo permita, deberán circular durante todo el viaje de forma ventilada.
• Las unidades disponen de cartelería con información para los pasajeros sobre las recomendaciones sobre las para prevenir Coronavirus/Virus respiratorios.

Además, de acuerdo a la normativa vigente: Solo se transporta el equivalente al 80% de la capacidad total de los vehículos. Tanto conductor como pasajero deben usar tapabocas durante todo el viaje. Se remueven las cortinas de todas las unidades. Todos deben portar el Certificado Habilitante para la Circulación. Un joven de 15 años salva a su familia en un incendio en Bermeo: "Nos ha llevado a una habitación en la que no había humo"

Cinco personas han sido atendidas, cuatro de ellas por inhalación de humo, por el incendio que se ha declarado en el cuarto piso del inmueble

Unax, un joven de 15 años de Bermeo, ha salvado este martes a su madre y a su hermana de 14 meses de morir víctimas del incendio registrado este martes en la localidad vizcaína, tras seguir el protocolo contra incendios mientras el fuego devoraba su edificio.

"Él es un héroe. Ha sido quien nos ha salvado", repetía agradecida su madre, Ainhoa Villaragut, tras lograr ser rescatada del edificio en llamas, en un incendio donde su marido ha resultado herido por quemaduras de segundo grado tras intentar ayudarles. Además, otras cuatro personas han sido también hospitalizadas tras resultar afectadas por inhalación de humo en el mismo fuego.

El joven, residente con su familia en la quinta planta del inmueble, conocía qué hacer ante un incendio porque previamente había leído una nota informativa que los Bomberos habían difundido en su portal y había interiorizado la forma de actuar.

En el momento del suceso, el adolescente les condujo a la habitación menos afectada por el humo y taponó con trapos mojados la puerta , mientras tranquilizaba a su madre.

"Yo estaba en casa con mi bebé de catorce meses y mi hijo de quince años y no sabíamos qué hacer. Ha sido él quien nos ha llevado a una habitación en la que no había humo. A sus quince años, nos ha ayudado en todo. Ha sido un héroe. Ha sido el que nos ha salvado", agradecía su madre.

Tras refugiar a su familia en la habitación más alejada del foco del incendio, el joven ha llamado por teléfono a los Bomberos para contarles su ubicación , por lo que han podido ser rescatados con vida.

El incendio se ha declarado sobre las ocho y cinco de la mañana en el cuarto piso del inmueble localizado en el número nueve de la calle Artike Bidea de Bermeo. Tras la intervención de Bomberos, han podido regresar todos los vecinos, salvo los de las plantas cuarta y quinta, que se encuentran "totalmente afectadas", según ha dicho la alcaldesa, Nadia Nemeh Somaly.

La primer edil, que ha agradecido la labor de todos los efectivos que han participado en el dispositivo de rescate y extinción, ha revelado que el Ayuntamiento se ha puesto en contacto con todos los residentes que se han visto obligados a salir de sus hogares "sin nada".

Aunque ha asegurado que la mayoría de los afectados que no podrán regresar a casa serán acogidos por familiares, el Ayuntamiento dará una alternativa a quienes no tienen a dónde ir.
