Offering Professional Conservatory Certificates and Degree pathway options virtually or through the Los Angeles campus, AMDA provides unparalleled performing arts education taught by world-class industry professionals. Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
Admission to AMDA is on a rolling basis with 3 terms available per year (Spring, Summer, and Fall Semesters). After completing your free application, carefully review and follow the admission requirements at www.amda.edu/admissions#req for your desired program. Auditions may be done in person, virtually, or via self-tape video submission. The minimum GPA required for admission to AMDA is 2.0 out of 4.0 or its equivalent in other grading systems. Final official high school transcripts must be submitted to AMDA prior to your enrollment.
For students who began their education at another institution, AMDA offers the opportunity to transfer credits into any BFA or BA Degree Program (located at the Los Angeles Campus). Students may submit up to 30 General Education credits for consideration. After completing the Conservatory program in New York City, degree-seeking students can then transfer credits into their program in Los Angeles. Auditions may be done in person, virtually, or via self-tape video submission. Final official high school and college transcripts must be submitted to AMDA prior to your enrollment.

MEET THE AMSTERDAM RESIDENCES
The Amsterdam stands at the tree-lined intersection of West 85th and Broadway. Though the Amsterdam boasts a neoclassical exterior with keystone details and flowing columns, residents enjoy modern interiors and amenities.

AMDA Studio Rentals is a new rehearsal facility in the heart of New York’s Theatre District. AMDA's West 54th Street campus, housed in the former facilities of several renowned rehearsal studios, is now available for public rentals! Our facility offers studio space for acting, music, dance, seminars, meetings and more. Ranging in size from 100 to 1000 square feet, studios are available by the hour, day or week. Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry American Museum of Natural History, 200 Central Park W On display through Jan. 5, 2025
To continue the celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary in NYC, the American Museum of Natural History has unveiled its latest exhibition based on hip-hop’s cultural influence through custom jewelry. The exhibition features large, bold pieces worn by artists such as A$AP Rocky, Nicki Minaj, The Notorious B.I.G., Bad Bunny and many more. Exhibition is included in museum entry.
The MET & Me 68 Jay Street Bar, DUMBO On display through June 14
This new exhibition highlights a local artist’s interpretation of famous pieces at the MET. As a student in the New York Studio School (NYSS), Suzanne Scott drew every Friday with her classmates at the MET for four hours each time, exploring a different section of the MET each time. The drawings on display are a selection of 26 works created over the course of two and a half years. The bar is open every day at 3 p.m. This show is not affiliated with The Metropolitan Museum or The NYSS.
Meditations on Medication: The Pill Bottle Project The Fountain House Gallery and Studio, Governors Island On display May 17 through Aug. 11
Created by Alyson Vega, “Meditations on Medication: The Pill Bottle Project” is a conversation around medication, routine, recycling, plastic waste, insurance, and accessibility. The installation is created entirely of empty orange pill bottles that were collected or donated to Vega for this project and represent artists living with mental illness.
Photoville NYC Several locations throughout the city On display June 1-16
It’s back! Photoville NYC is returning with over 85 free outdoor photography exhibits throughout the Big Apple. Among this year’s exhibitions include Ernst Coppejans documenting the lives of homeless LGBTQIA+ youth in NYC, a pictorial encyclopedia of NYC theater since 1979 by Sara Krulwich, a collection of some of the last photos and videos shared by journalists in Gaza, Lebanon, and Israel that have been killed covering the war and a multimedia installation celebrating the one-hundred-year history of WNYC. Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm The Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway On display through Aug. 18
Transport yourself back in time to the throws of Beatlemania at this photo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. Taken by McCartney himself, the photos document the rise of The Beatles as he navigated stardom and the Beatles’ first US tour throughout the early 1960s, including behind the scenes moments with his bandmates that you may not have seen before.
Liberty the Tattooed Lady: The Great Bartholdi Statue as Depicted in Tattooing The City Reliquary Museum, 370 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn On display through Jan. 12, 2025
Tattooing in itself is an art form that has undergone all sorts of transformations over the years. Created in partnership with the City Reliquary Museum and Daredevil Tattoo, “Liberty the Tattooed Lady: The Great Bartholdi Statue as Depicted in Tattooing” is a display of vintage tattoo art, many of which have not been seen in public before, with a particular focus on how American tattoo artists embraced the Statue of Liberty for several years.
Hot Dog in the City Times Square, Broadway & 46th Street On display through June 13
Something about a giant hot dog in Times Square just feels right. Created by conceptual artists Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw, “Hot Dog in the City” was the result of the duo’s brainstorm to find the perfect symbol for an art piece in Times Square. The world’s largest hot dog shoots out confetti once a day while the exhibit lasts, at least it won’t stain your clothes like ketchup or mustard!
Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion The Met Fifth Avenue, Gallery 899 On display through Sept. 2
Created by the Costume Institute, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” embodies the extraordinary. The exhibition showcases 220 garments and accessories spanning four centuries, all of which are inspired by the natural world. The exhibit is fully immersive, including video animations, soundscapes, and smells. Museum visitors must join the virtual queue if they wish to check out the exhibit.
INTER_ has made a name for itself in NYC with a fully immersive art experience like no other. The experience is currently ramping up for a new exhibit this summer, but in the meantime you can check out INTER_’s installations and digital creations in a multi-sensory environment.

It's not a real college so all you get is a certificate stating you completed their program. You'd be better off going to a university with a good theatre department, it'd be cheaper and you get more out of it. I've known 3 friends to go to AMDA and all of them returned after a single year and had nothing good to say.
