Avenged Sevenfold Announce 2023 North American Tour, Their First in Five Years

Avenged Sevenfold have announced a set of 2023 North American tour dates, which marks the band's first time hitting the road in five years.

While the group already announced two headlining performances in Los Angeles and New York City when they released the song "Nobody" earlier this month , this will be their first official tour since 2018. The run is in support of their upcoming album  Life Is But a Dream,  which will be out June 2 and can be pre-ordered here . Alexisonfire will serve as support throughout the trek.

See the full itinerary below.

Avenged teamed up with Ticketmaster for a new form of ticketing in order to combat scalpers and bots. Members of the band's Deathbats Club have an exclusive first chance at tickets. Individuals can request tickets from now until tomorrow (March 28) at 3PM ET using Ticketmaster’s new Token-Gated Sales platform at this location , and once the window closes, they'll be notified whether or not the request was granted.

“This new capability allows artists to get special access and rewards to specific fans they want to super serve,” David Marcus, EVP of Global Music at Ticketmaster said in a statement. “Artists like Avenged Sevenfold are using Web3 and NFTs to build deeper relationships with their fans, and we’re proud to help foster that connection through live events.”

Read more about Ticketmaster's  token-gated ticketing here . Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday, March 30 at 10AM local time, and can be purchased here .

As noted by Setlist.fm , Avenged's last concert took place on June 30, 2018 at a festival in Hungary while they were still supporting their 2016 album  The Stage.  Shortly after, the band had to cancel the rest of the dates they had scheduled for the year because frontman M. Shadows contracted a viral infection that posed potential long-term damage to his vocal chords. Thus, his doctors suggested he take a few months off from singing, and they haven't played a concert since.

Hailing from Huntington Beach, California, US, Avenged Sevenfold are a five-piece metalcore outfit who found mainstream success with their blend of metal, punk-pop and post hardcore that showcased their impressive musicianship.

The band came together in 1999, having formed in high school, quickly developing their sound and releasing their debut album, "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" in 2001. Going by their aliases M. Shadows (vocals), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Synester Gates (guitar, Johnny Christ (bass) and The Reverend, Avenged Sevenfold soon moved from Goodlife Records to the label, Hopeless, beginning work on their second record. Released in 2003, "Waking the Fallen" arrived to critical acclaim, helping to build hype around the band which drew the attention of major label, Warner Bros.

With an aggressive, punk sound that was full of melodic harmonies from their dual guitar attack, their debut for Warner Bros., "City of Evil," was to be their breakthrough album, finding them mainstream success after its June 2005 release. The album peaked at number 30 on Billboard's Top 200, bolstered by the popularity of the single, "Bat Country." The band's success was celebrated after being awarded the award for 'Best New Artist' at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards.

Avenged Sevenfold quickly returned to the studio to work on their fourth record, the grittier and harder-edged self-titled release, which peaked at number four on the Billboard Top 200 after appearing in October 2007. Three singles from the record also broke into the top five of the UK charts, with the band quickly becoming global stars and embarking on a number of tours in support of the release.

In 2009, Jimmy "The Reverend" Sullivan, the band's long time drummer, tragically died, with the remaining members considering disbanding. However, they continued, finding a replacement in Mike Portnoy, formerly of Dream Theater, releasing "Nightmare" in 2010. It was several years before they returned with a new full length, 2013's "Hail to the King," which again brought them commercial success, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard 200 and the UK Album Chart.

Live reviews

A friend of mine tagged me in the Avenged Sevenfold's post about them coming to Singapore and I absolutely lost it. I couldn't believe they were finally coming after so long. It had been 3 years and I missed the last chance due to my final exams. I was definitely not going to miss them this time. The moment my dad got home from work, I booked my tickets.

I went with 8 of my other friends and we were in the line by 9 am, when the concert was at 7:30 pm. It was worth every second of the wait. The crowd was absolutely insane, the band was absolutely marvelous and Synyster Gates, like always, was the God of guitars! There was a mosh pit, there was adrenaline and then there was M. Shadows. His voice filling the room like of an angel singing in the heavens.

As their 'This Means War' started, one of my personal favourite, the crowds' fist pumped back and forth right at the beat and everyone was one, moving along to the rhythm of music created by a band we all loved.

No one should miss an Avenged Sevenfold concert. It's one In a lifetime experience. Moreover, who knows, you might catch Syn's autographed pick. I was lucky, I got 2! So go. Go to the concert. And never say no to it. Cheers.

Avenged Sevenfold always delivers high energy, blow-your-ear-drums-out performances. If you like loud, you will love an A7X show.

I saw them last summer at the Orion Music Festival and was blown away. A lot of the time at a festival you lose some sound since it is outside, but Avenged Sevenfold must have found a new volume level for their amps, because it was louder than some shows that I have been to in small concert halls!

Lead singer M. Shadows was constantly prowling around the stage, shouting at the audience, and keeping the energy up. A lot of people in the crowd did not seem to be die-hard Avenged Sevenfold fans when the show started (which I guess is not uncommon for large festivals), but within a few minutes, everyone was rocking together. With the heavy guitars and smashing drums, it was hard not to get up and jump around and mosh together.

I think I danced or jumped for the entire show, and I was completely spent afterwards. There never seemed to be a quiet moment to catch my breath, which was exhilarating. I had an absolute blast at this show and would never hesitate to go see these guys again. Their live performance is second to none.

What an amazing live performance. They kept the audience engaged the entire time. I'm not their biggest fan but there was a few songs that I wish had been on the set list that weren't. Then again, that's just my preference. Regardless, Matt has an amazing voice and I was blown away. The only thing that bothered me was that the sound mix seemed a bit off which sucks because that's obviously not the band's fault. At first the bass was so low that anytime the guitars started playing harmonies the sound got really thin/empty. Also I thought that Synyster was playing sloppily (which I would have been extremely surprised if that was the case) because some parts in his solos seemed inaudible but I finally realized that the guitars were getting smothered in the mix. I only notice this stuff because I play in a band and do live shows myself so it probably didn't bother too many people besides me. Overall, 10/10 live performance, and I would totally go see them again. (Hopefully at another venue)

Avenged Sevenfold was pretty awesome! Their new album was a change in direction from the prior ones, I would say, being more melodic than Nightmare or especially their earlier works. Two great songs were Hail to the King and Shepherd of Fire, which had amazing special effects as well.

The crowd was really alive, and Matt Shadows was really interactive too. The band was presented with two flags during the concert: the Swedish one, and one with the band's Deathbat on it. The most memorable part for me was when the entire arena shouted "Hail!" during Hail to the King - it really made you shiver, even though the fires on stage neutralized it some. Obviously, though, they played plenty of songs from their older albums as well - crowd favorites were probably Almost Easy and A little Peace of Heaven, two of their most successful songs outside the arena too.

The concert was FUCKING amazing! The crowd was so loud, M. Shadows were singing perfectly, as always...They played all of the best songs they have ever made, and one song, So Far Away, in loving memory of The Rev.

My favourite moment was when I screamed to M.Shadows: I love you, he looked me in the eyes and said: I love you too! It was unbelievable!!!! Everyone screamed and I got so happy... Avenged Sevenfold show how much they care about their fans, even on the stage. They look at us, they smile at us and they talk about how amazing the crowd and their fans are.

To sum it up, it was the best night in my entire life, and I can't wait until next concert <3 -Lilly

Well, I'm not sure which show I'm supposed to review, so I'll do both. I saw them on Friday at shoreline amphitheater and then on Monday at golden one center. For the 1st show we had lawn tickets, it was still good. This was my 6th time seeing them. It was my 13 year old son's 1st concert. They always put on an excellent show.

Mondays show was the best one I've been to,my 7th time seeing them , because we were right up front on the floor. It was awesome. The crowd gets pretty aggressive, but I already knew that. I ended up being pulled out from security for trying to break up a fight, so that wasn't fun, but nothing against the band, they rocked.

That show, in SLC Utah, was phenomenal. They're just amazing people who worked so hard and got where they deserve to be. I enjoyed watching the result of their hard work, and I plan to watch more shows that come around. I want to see them succeed more and accomplish more stuff in the future. They're such great people, amazing artists, great role models for aspiring musicians everywhere, and (by the twitter videos) they're amazing parents. I'll always be a death bat, not only for their music but for them as human beings. God Damn.

The Showcase for A7X is always about the catchy songs the band put through. It was a back to back of smashing hits and the crowd grow crazy just by listening to the opening riffs. The performace A7X is energetic. The chemistry between the individuals in the group is amazing as they power up each other without fail. The only problem was that the vocal did not break through the screaming crowd. Yeah the crowd were singing along and it was pretty cool but I went there to listen to M Shadow. Overall it was a great show.

Overall an amazing show.

InFlames were great when playing, but awkward in between songs when talking to the crow.

Disturbed knocked it out of the park 110%, so much pyro and flames. Simply amazing performance.

A7X were good when they played their old material. I understand they've launched a new album and title track The Stage is good, but the rest of the album is the worst material they have ever done IMHO. They played 5/6 songs from the new album and the atmosphere just died when this occurred.

Avenged Sevenfold unveils fall 2023 North American tour dates

Band will be joined by Falling in Reverse

Avenged Sevenfold has announced the second leg of their extensive Life is But A Dream… North American tour – featuring support from Falling In Reverse. Produced by Live Nation, leg two includes stops in Nashville, Denver, Austin, and more before concluding at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena on October 15th. Fans will have the opportunity to hear the group’s first single in seven years, “Nobody,” and their new album Life is But A Dream… for the first time live during the 30 show outing.

The first leg with support from Alexisonfire includes thirteen cities across the US and Canada, such as Mansfield, Québec City, Tinley Park, Calgary, and more. The group kicks off their 2023 solo touring run with two unique one night only arena shows in New York and Los Angeles this June.

Tickets will be available for the newly announced shows starting with a Deathbats Club and TicketPass presale beginning now through Wednesday, April 12th at 3 pm ET. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning on Friday, April 14th at 10 am local time via Ticketmaster . All other shows are currently on sale.

Deathbats Club is a collection of 10,000 unique Deathbat NFT’s, made popular by Avenged Sevenfold, flying around the Ethereum blockchain. A Deathbat is a membership card into the club and offers many perks and access to events that will take place in the “metaverse” and in real life.

During that window, fans will submit their request for tickets and, after the request period closes, they will receive a confirmation from Ticketmaster if tickets matching their preferences have been secured. This process gives exclusive access to ticket locations that have been reserved for the Deathbats Club community.

Avenged Sevenfold Usher In a New Era in New Jersey at Tour Kick-Off

Last night, life was a dream come true for Avenged Sevenfold fans as the band kicked off their first North American tour in five years. The heavy metal hitmakers returned to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden to reveal songs from their brand new album Life Is But a Dream and quench fans’ thirst for some of the hits that have made them one of the biggest bands in the world. Things aren’t always as they seem, however. It is certainly a new era for the band, who just released the most experimental album of their storied career. While the initial reactions to the record were very mixed, the capacity crowd was anxious to see how the new tunes would translate in a live setting.

After fans had some time to raid the merch booths, Kim Dracula took the stage to start the evening’s festivities. Raising some eyebrows at first, they seemed to win the crowd over with their nu metal and rap-rock influences. You would get some serious vintage Korn vibes quite often throughout the set. The industrial metal version of Lady Gaga’s “Papparazzi” was quite something. In all, they turned some heads and captured a few new fans

Alexisonfire certainly seemed on a mission last night. Fairly fresh off the release of their first studio album in 13 years, the band churned out a blistering ten-song set. The played three tracks from the new record, as well as a solid mix of fan favorites from all throughout their career that has spanned over two decades.

They started with “Sweet Dreams of Otherness.” The track is a bruising wall of melodic sound. It was the perfect way to start their set, putting the audience deep in the pocket right out of the gate. Other hits included “Boiled Frogs,” “Sans Soleil,” and “This Could Be Anywhere In the World,” among others. It was one of the better live sets we’ve seen from any band in quite some time.

The furious “Young Cardinals” closed out their time. Absolutely gassed from bringing it all in the blistering heat, the band had the venue bursting at the seams with a palpable energy before the sun even went down. Giving a band like Avenged Sevenfold a run for their money is no easy task, but Alexisonfire brought it all and proved that they’re still at the top of their game.

Avenged Sevenfold charged out of the gate with “Game Over,” a blistering slice of speed metal with melodic, almost opera-like breaks. The stage was basically barren, a far cry from the over-the-top production and pyro that fans have gotten used to. Instead, massive floor-to-ceiling screens have taken over featuring imagery that coincides with the songs. It’s not as flashy as their previous tours; the band is mostly in the dark. But, the stripped down darkness does seem to feel right for this record.

After “Game Over,” they went right into “Mattel,” which has a similar feel and formula. Then, the took it way back with “Afterlife” from their 2007 self-titled hit album and then

While a bulk of the set was comprised of new material, the band do a nice job of sprinkling in past hits and fan favorites. Personally, I would have traded “Hail to the King” and “Nightmare” for, say, “Critical Acclaim,” “Welcome to the Family,” or “Beast and the Harlot,” but with such a stacked catalog it must be getting tough to craft a setlist.

Midway through the set, M. Shadows took a moment to address the audience. He spoke of living in the moment, and not thinking too much about later, tomorrow, or the future in general. Although he pointed out that he hates it when band’s talk about the same shit every show, it is a poignant talking point in this day and age.

“If you live in the moment, time will slow down and you can enjoy the ones you love,” Shadows stated. Pure facts, and some advice we should all take to heart. This is, in fact, something that needs to be said at every show.

In closing, he made a dedication, saying, “This song is called ‘So Far Away,’ and it goes out to The Rev and everyone we’ve all lost.”

Following immediately was “Nobody,” the lead single from the group’s latest LP. It seemed to be the most well-received track from the new outing. With its industrial tendencies, the track translated well live, especially Synyster’s dazzling outro solo. It was a staunch reminder that he’s undoubtedly one of the best metal guitarists of all time. And, say what you will about the new album or the lack of pyro – A7X’s musicianship is always supreme.

Plus, hopefully, there’s always next time.

Don’t get it twisted, highlights like “Nightmare,” “Bat Country,” “Unholy Confessions,” and others were fuckin’ killer and still hit like a ton of bricks.

They wrapped things up with “A Little Piece of Heaven.” Returning for the encore, they took the opportunity to roll through three more new songs – “G,” “(O)rdinary,” and “(D)eath” all strung together just as they were recorded. It did make for a pretty cool sequence. It wasn’t how most envisioned an Avenged Sevenfold show ending, but you have to admire their commitment to this new record.

Avenged Sevenfold live 2023 [Credit: Matt Bishop]

Avenged Sevenfold’s new album cycle seems to be a bit of a St. Anger moment. When Metallica dropped that album, it was widely panned by fans and critics alike for detouring too far from the band’s classic sound. However, a lot of fans found something to love about it, because of their love for Metallica. The same can be said for Life Is But a Dream . Hell, on a recent episode of the Let There Be Talk Podcast , Shadows himself said, “It’s ok to hate this record.” What’s not ok, though, is hating Avenged Sevenfold for experimenting and giving themselves some space to grow. For whatever reason, this is the album they needed to make, not Nightmare II . If anything, the marketing rollout for this campaign was one of the best we’ve seen in a long time.

We’ll see what happens once LIBAD has some more time to marinade. For now, we can all just enjoy the fact that Avenged Sevenfold are back in our lives. We still love you, A7X.

In the Moscow region there is a small cozy town Elektrostal. Its sights for the most part have no historical value due to the fact that the city has a relatively small history. But for a visiting tourist or city dweller, they will be of interest. There is something to see, where to go to have an exciting leisure time.

Today the population of the city is 158 thousand people. Until the beginning of the 20th century there were several small workers' settlements here. After the opening of the electrometallurgical and equipment factories, the place began to be called the natural boundary of Calm. The construction of the railway made this settlement accessible, and workers and families flocked here to earn money. In 1925, the station was named Elektrostal, and the rapid increase in population allowed the village to receive the status of a city.

The founder of the city is a prominent Russian industrialist Nikolai Vtorov. It was he who opened the plant here, creating, in fact, a city-forming enterprise that is still operating. In Soviet times, it was a closed facility, and it was not easy to get to work here.

Today Elektrostal is a promising industrial city with a great future and a heroic past. It bears the proud name "City of Military and Labor Glory".

You can learn about the sights of Elektrostal with descriptions and photos here. There are places for walking, outdoor activities and cultural development.

sights of the electric steel of the Moscow region

Those who come to the city by train are met by a monument to the metallurgist. It was installed in November 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the Elektrostal plant. The attraction is made in the style of constructivism. The monument quickly won the love of the townspeople, because this city is supported by ordinary workers.

Elektrost altsy and the founding father of the plant, Nikolai Vtorov, are honored. In 2002, a monument was opened in honor of him, which became a landmark of the city of Elektrostal. The bronze sculpture is installed on the site where once stood a monument to the leader of the world proletariat, V. I. Lenin. Times change, characters change. Today, the plant, founded a century ago, is the largest in Russia. Vtorov himself, whose fortune was estimated at 60 million rubles in gold, according to Forbes magazine, was the owner of the largest capital at the beginning of the century. He was a banker, an industrialist, an entrepreneur, a man of action.

The monument was erected byinitiative of the townspeople who wished to perpetuate the monument to the great man.

One of the popular places for spending weekends and evenings among citizens and guests of the city is the Park of Culture and Leisure. Here you can ride attractions for children and adults, play slot machines, rollerblade or bike. The park is divided into two zones. Fans of unhurried walks in the fresh air make a promenade on the Quiet Alley, and those who prefer outdoor activities flock to the Entertainment Alley. The park has a summer stage, where concerts and cafes are regularly held.

Elektrostal attractions

Until 1999, there was no central museum among the attractions of Elektrostal in the Moscow Region. The expositions were exhibited in schools, the house of culture, in factory museums. The city was closed, so there was no large influx of tourists and visitors. The appearance of the historical and art museum made it possible for residents and guests of the city to learn a lot of useful information about their native land, the formation of the production process, and the difficult years of the war. The exposition consists of paintings by local artists, historical artifacts, household items, documents, books and much more. The collection is updated regularly. It also hosts outdoor exhibitions, which are always popular with the townspeople.

One of the main attractions of Elektrostal, the photo of which is available to almost every resident or visitor, is the Main Alley. On herpassers-by like to stroll along shady paths, townspeople rest by the fountain after a hard shift at the plant. Flower beds are the decoration of the alley. In 2006, a flower festival was held here for the first time, which has become traditional. Each enterprise of the city and private individuals give residents a real composition of fresh flowers, which pleases with bright colors all summer long. A riot of colors, aromas and a flight of fantasy reigns here. Walking through the park, you can see Snow White with a basket, a bright well, a multi-tiered cake made from fresh flowers, hearts of lovers or a fabulous house. It is almost impossible not to take a photo against the background of these compositions.

There is a cultural center in the city. It hosts performances by local creative teams and visiting stars, performances and circus performances.

In 1971, the ice palace "Crystal" was opened in the city. Almost immediately, a children's and youth hockey team was organized, which gained sports fame. This is the home sports arena for the Elektrostal hockey team. Matches of different levels are held on the ice.

There are sections for children who go in for hockey or figure skating. Citizens come here with their families to cheer for their favorite team or go ice skating.

Elektrostal is a city with a heroic past. During the war years, more than 12 thousand citizens came to the recruiting station and went to the front to defend their homeland. Almost 4 thousand of them did not return from the battle. To these heroesdedicated to the memorial complex with the inextinguishable Eternal Flame, opened in 1968

But the electricians took part in the war in Afghanistan and Chechnya. By decision of the city authorities, their memory is also immortalized in the memorial complex.

It has become a good tradition for newlyweds to lay flowers at this monument.

attractions of the city of Elektrostal

In 1999, a museum and exhibition complex was opened in the city, where, in addition to the exhibition hall, there are numerous circles for children, classes for young people, and a creative workshop. Various festivals, exhibitions, city holidays and other events are held within the walls and on the territory of the complex, which attract many spectators.

Elektrostal attractions

Listing the sights of Elektrostal, it is impossible not to mention the temples. There are several of them in the city: the church of St. John of Kronstadt, St. Andrew's Church, the hospital church of St. Panteleimon. Another new church is being built. In appearance, the temples look ancient, monumental, in the Novgorod style. But they were all built at the end of the 20th century.

Let there be no ancient artifacts among the sights of Elektrostal. But on the other hand, all of them are connected with the history of the city, with everyday work and military exploits of ordinary residents.
