Describe a cafe you like to visit. you should say: where it is what it serves what you do there and explain why you like to go there..

I’d like to tell you about a cafe called Maison Berteaux. It’s in Soho in Central London. Because it’s very central, it is a convenient spot to meet at. In addition, it’s within walking distance of tourist hotspots like Convent Garden, Trafalgar Square, and Chinatown.

This cafe is also a patisserie so you can buy all sorts of cakes and pies. My favourite is a plum and almond tart , but they also make delicious eclairs and marzipan fruit . When I go there, I usually order a pot of tea for the table. They’re very generous and give you extra hot water so you can have seconds .

When I go, I like to sit and have cake and talk for a while. Afterward, I might go for a walk around Chinatown or go shopping on Oxford street.

If someone was visiting me in London, I’d usually take them to Maison Berteaux. The reason for this is that so many places in London are cookie-cutter chain cafes and restaurants. It’s allegedly the oldest cafe in town, which has helped it be pretty unique. Naturally, the cake and tea are delicious. Also, the location itself is a little shabby which I think makes it very charming. Finally, the staff are so friendly. Even when, there’s a queue out the door , they will make time for small talk with you.

Cafes part three IELTS questions

What type of people like to visit a cafe .

Since it has gotten more and more expensive to eat out, I think the majority of people who visit a cafe in the UK would be people who are on the go. Most cafes serve food, like toasties or croissants , which are quick and easy. Commuters and people on their lunch break prefer this type of food because it helps them fill up and get on with their day.

How have cafes changed over the last 30 years?

The first big change I can think of is the rise of chain cafes. Obviously, Starbucks is the most famous one of these, but there are also other chains like Costa. These cafes have supplanted many independent coffee shops.

Second, coffee drinkers have become more sophisticated consumers . For example, they are more likely to want to know the provenance of the coffee they drink. They might make an extra effort to find a cafe serving organic single-origin coffee . They are also more likely to be loyal to a cafe with a skilled barista who can make them a coffee just as they like it.

IELTS Cafe Vocabulary

Convenient spot.

We often use ‘spot’ to mean place, especially in spoken English. ‘Convenient spot’ is a common phrase for somewhere easy to get to.

Within walking distance

If two places are within walking distance, it is easy to walk from one to the other.

Tourist hotspot

A tourist hotspot is a place which is popular among tourists.

A patisserie is a bakery that specialises in sweet goods. This word comes from French where most bakeries are specialised in either sweet or savoury baking.

A tart is a type of pie that does not have pastry on top. In other words, you can see what is inside the pie by looking at it.

cafe visit cue card

An eclair is a long thin pastry that is full of cream and has chocolate on top.

Marzipan fruit

cafe visit cue card

Marzipan is a type of paste that is made from almonds. It’s usually yellow but can be dyed any colour. It’s common to make sweets from it that look, but don’t taste, like fruit.

If you have seconds, you have another serving of something. In this case, the extra hot water lets you make tea.

Cookie-cutter

A cookie cutter is a divice used to shape cookies. However, this phrase can also be used to mean something looks very similar to other examples of it. E.g. Starbucks cafes all look like one another.

A chain of shops is lots of shops with the same name. Supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes are often chains.

If something is allegedly true, it means someone says that it is true but you can’t confirm it yourself. Here it means that the cafe says it’s the oldest in London, but I can’t say for sure.

If something is shabby it is a bit run down or rough round the edges. This sounds like a bad thing, but it can often be used to mean run down in a charming way.

A queue out the door

Literally, this means that there are so many people waiting, some of them have to wait on the street. It can also be used more figuratively to mean that a place is busy.

Small talk is a casual conversation about unimportant or uncontroversial topics like the weather.

If you are on the go, you are busy moving from place to place.

A toastie is a type of sandwich which is pressed between two hotplates. It is similar to a grilled cheese in the USA.

cafe visit cue card

This is a flaky pastry dish that looks like a crescent moon.

This is another way of saying ‘replaced’. It can have a connotation of that replacement being slightly unfair.

Sophisticated consumer

This is a common phrase we use to describe someone who knows what they want when they are shopping.

The provenance of something is about where something is from and the journey it takes to get to you. When discussing food this means where the food comes from as well as how it is grown transported and prepared.

Single-origin coffee

This means that the coffee comes from a single farm. People who really like coffee care about this as it means the coffee has stronger characteristics compared with coffee made from beans from many farms.

A barista is someone who makes coffee, especially someone who is skillful at making coffee.

There will be an IELTS cue card section of the speaking test in the IELTS exam where you will be asked to describe your perspective on a certain topic. This IELTS speaking test is divided into three sections. In the first section, you will be asked to explain yourself, while the second section will contain the IELTS cue card. You must answer the follow-up questions for the part 2 topic in the third section.

Now, one of the common questions asked in IELTS speaking cue cards is, “Describe a Cafe You Like To Visit.” Therefore, this blog will explore how to answer these types of IELTS speaking cue card topics .

Introduction

To be honest, I can't imagine my life without beverages and cafe hopping. It must be tedious. People in India enjoy drinking because of our tea tradition. However, most youngsters like me love drinking coffee as well for a variety of reasons.

Where it is?

On weekends, I always make plans to sip coffee with my buddies. In this section, I will discuss a well-known cafe in my cafe. It is also known as the House of Coffee.

What kinds of food and drinks it serves?

This small and aesthetic cafe is only one kilometre away from my house. There are over ten different sorts of beverages, including coffee, tea, and cappuccino. Apart from this, they also have munchies. However, my favourite one is 'Chilli Cheese Toast'.

What do you do there?

People can also use their official website to make specific arrangements. When it comes to their menu, the quantity of food cannot be overlooked. Chocolate doughnuts and cookies are my favourites. Customers are served fresh doughnuts and sweets. When it comes to coffee, they provide hot chocolate, iced coffee, cappuccino, and latte. I enjoy hot chocolate because it tastes delicious. Aside from that, there are sandwiches and bagels. They have gained a lot of popularity in recent years since they serve delicious and good quality food to people.

And explain why you like to go there?

There is a wide variety of beverages and snacks available. However, we usually get a cappuccino with chilli cheese toast. Not only was the food delicious, but the way it was presented was also wonderful. The finest aspect is that one may listen to music, which enhances the experience of visiting this location. The finest aspect is that one may listen to music, which enhances the experience of visiting this location.

The staff at this establishment is also quite friendly. They are really friendly and provide excellent service. However, this establishment is a tad pricey.

I've gone to a lot of cafés, but my favourite is the "Curious Cafe." It is located in the city centre and is popular among both locals and tourists. Now I'll describe this cafe and explain why I enjoy visiting it so much.

The Curious Cafe is located on a bustling city centre thoroughfare. It is housed in a historic structure with a lovely pastoral design, lending it a distinct charm. The cafe includes an outside dining area that is ideal for witnessing the city's hustle-bustle and happening vibe.

The Curious Cafe offers a variety of dishes and beverages, such as pastries, sandwiches, salads, and coffee. They provide a diverse menu that appeals to everyone's preferences. The food and drinks are of great quality, and the prices are affordable.

I normally meet up with my buddies at the Curious Cafe for a cup of coffee or brunch. The cafe has a cosy and welcoming ambience, and the staff is kind and helpful. I also like to come here to work on my laptop because they have free Wi-Fi, and the atmosphere is calm and conducive to productivity.

I enjoy visiting the Curious Cafe because of its warm and inviting atmosphere, wonderful cuisine and drinks, and convenient location. It's the ideal location to unwind after a long day, and the outside dining area is fantastic for taking in the city views. The cafe has been my go-to place for meeting friends, working or simply relaxing alone.

My paternal aunt resides in Banaras. My sister and I planned to visit her during our summer holidays and spend a few days with her.

Her house is quite near to a famous authentic Indian traditional cafe, Indian Coffee House. It was one of the first few cafes to open in Banaras during the mid-90s.

It is very different from today's cafe chains such as Barista, Cafe Coffee Day, and Starbucks.

Unlike them, it does not have a large selection of coffee, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas. They actually have a fairly limited menu. There were only two coffee options: hot and cold. Aside from that, they serve tea and fresh juices. Again, there are just four or five options for juices.

What do you do there?/ And explain why you like to go there?

But just one stands out in my mind: the onion fritters. I drink tea and coffee alternately, but I always get the onion fritters. They were delicious. That is the primary reason I visit there. However, another reason was that it was budget-friendly. And, despite price increases in recent years, they are still relatively reasonable.

As a result, finding an empty table can be difficult. Generally, people wait in queue for an hour before being accommodated. There's also a certain charm to the place. The antique decor, the rickety tables and chairs, and the servers dressed in traditional Indian garb transport you back in time.

Here are some examples of follow-up questions connected to the cue card "Describe a cafe you like to visit" that you may be asked by the examiner during your speaking part 3.

Questions: What kind of people would like to go to a cafe?

Answer : In my opinion, people who enjoy drinking tea and coffee and do not have time to make it at home prefer to go to coffee shops. Furthermore, certain people come to study and work there because they believe they can find peace there that they cannot get at home or anywhere else.

Questions: Do older people like to drink coffee?

Answer : Age doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you like coffee. However, because coffee contains caffeine, I believe it has an effect on sleep. Thus, persons who have sleep problems, like old people, should avoid it.

Questions: Do Indian people like to drink coffee?

Answer : Yes, Indians, especially youngsters, enjoy drinking coffee in their everyday lives. I believe it is entirely dependent on their preferences and desires. Most Indians become addicted to coffee, starting their day with morning coffee and ending their day with coffee. Apart from that, the most popular beverages in India are tea and coffee. They surely interact with various coffee variations whenever they opt to go on specific occasions, and this beverage has become a vital component of the Indian population.

Questions: Why do young people like studying in a cafe instead of at home?

Answer : There are several reasons why young people choose to study in a cafe rather than at home. The most common reason is that the Cafe is interesting and equipped with sophisticated equipment, which easily attracts customers to work or study there for a change. Second, the atmosphere of the cafés is fairly compatible with the character of young people, and they can easily focus on their studies while studying. They also eat a lot of meals from the Cafe, which makes them feel even better. So, in modern society, everyone likes to go to Cafes for various reasons. Studies are relatively popular reasons, but there are several sources of distraction in homes, making it difficult for individuals to focus while studying.

You should try to use all the below suggested points to make your answer more appealing . Introduce the cafe and its location Describe the ambiance and decor of the cafe Talk about the menu and your favorite dish or drink Explain why you like visiting this cafe Share a memorable experience you had at the cafe

IELTS IDIOMS GUIDE

Sample Answer 1:

The cafe that I love to visit is called "The Tea House," located in the heart of the city. This cozy cafe has a warm and inviting ambiance, with wooden furniture, dim lights, and relaxing music. As soon as you enter the cafe, you are greeted by the soothing aroma of freshly brewed tea and coffee.

The decor of the cafe is simple yet elegant, with traditional Chinese artwork and ornate teapots and cups on display. They offer a wide range of beverages, including exotic teas, herbal infusions, and coffee. My favorite drink is the Earl Grey Tea with a dash of honey, which has a delicate aroma and a smooth taste.

Apart from the beverages, they also serve delicious snacks, such as sandwiches, cakes, and pastries. My go-to snack is their signature Chicken and Mushroom Pie, which has a flaky crust and a creamy filling.

I like visiting this cafe because of its calming ambiance, friendly staff, and quality food and beverages. It's the perfect place to unwind and catch up with friends or read a book.

One memorable experience I had at the cafe was when I visited it during the holiday season, and they had a Christmas-themed menu and decorations. The cafe was beautifully adorned with twinkling lights, tinsel, and a giant Christmas tree. It was a lovely and festive experience that I will never forget.

Sample Answer 2:

One of my favorite cafes to visit is "The Rustic Bean" in my neighborhood. The cafe is tucked away in a quiet alleyway, and its cozy ambiance makes it feel like a hidden gem. The decor inside is rustic, with exposed brick walls and vintage posters adorning them. The lighting is dim, which creates a relaxed atmosphere.

I'm a big fan of their coffee, and their signature cappuccino is my go-to order. The foam is light and airy, and the coffee has a bold and rich flavor. The cafe also serves pastries and sandwiches, and my favorite snack is their homemade blueberry scones, which are buttery and flaky.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile and making you feel at home. The cafe is usually quiet, making it an excellent spot to read a book, work on a project, or catch up with friends.

One memorable experience I had at the cafe was when they hosted a live music event. A local artist was performing acoustic sets, and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. It was a lovely way to spend an evening and indulge in great coffee and music.

Model Answer to Describe a cafe you like to visit IELTS Cue Card

● One of my maternal aunties lives in Delhi. ● During summer get-away, me and my sister visit her and go through some days there. ● Her house is only close to the renowned real Indian customary bistro, Indian Café. ● It was one of the initial not many bistros set up in Delhi, during the English occasions. ● It is very not quite the same as the bistro chains of today like Barista, Bistro Espresso Day, and Starbucks. ● Unlike them, it doesn’t offer a wide assortment of espresso like lattes, cappuccino, mochas. ● In truth, they have an extremely short menu. ● There are only two espressos and cold. ● Besides that, they offer tea and some new squeezes. ● In snacks once more they have restricted alternatives four or five choices. ● But I recall only one-which is the onion squanders. ● Sometimes I drink tea and here and there espresso, however I generally request the onion squanders. ● They are so yummy. ● That is the principle reason I go there. ● Well, there is another explanation the modest costs. ● And albeit the costs have expanded in the course of recent years, they are still entirely moderate. ● Because of that, it very well may be very elusive a vacant table. ● In truth, at times I have seen individuals hanging tight in line for an hour before they get obliged. ● There is additionally this appeal about the spot. ● The old plan, the dilapidated tables, and seats, the servers wearing conventional Indian clothing types, it resembles a gateway into the past.

Speaking Part 3 Follow-Up Questions to Describe a cafe you like to visit

  • What kind of people would like to go to a cafe? I think individuals who appreciate drinking tea and espresso are those that don’t have the opportunity to make them or can’t make them at home because of some explanation. Certain individuals additionally visit to concentrate there or work there when they can’t do as such at home.
  • Why do young people like studying in a cafe instead of at home? I believe this is a direct result of the environment. Also, there are such countless interruptions at home. Grown-ups incline toward bistros since they may be secured by family tasks at home.
  • Do old people like to drink coffee? I think age steers clear of loving espresso or not. However, I figure drinking espresso influences rest as it contains caffeine, so individuals who have rest issues do stay away from espresso.
  • Do Indian people like to drink coffee? We are a country of tea consumers fundamentally. Be that as it may, numerous adolescents and youngsters like to drink espresso too these days. In my home also, practically we all have tea, yet just my sister and I drink espresso.

Sample 1 for Describe A Cafe You Like To Visit cue card is given below. Check out all the parts of the answer and analyse how the answer is being delivered.

Introduction:

When I was living in Delhi I used to visit a cafe which is quite popular for its food and ambience.

The actual name of the cafe is Kulhad. However, the place is popularly known as Uncle Tom’s Cafe.

Uncle Tom’s Cafe is situated just opposite my college. Being at the centre of the city, the place was a go-to option for most of us.

The cafe served both Indian and Chinese food. Not only snacks were available, but also full-course meals were there. In addition to these, they served the best tea in the town. Due to its popular tea, the place used to flood with students after college hours.

Everybody loved this place for its eatables. However, I liked it for the refreshing ambience it provided. The cafe is located in an open space with a lot of lighting. But I must admit that their hot samosas were also a major reason to pick Uncle Tom’s Cafe every time.

Conclusion:

It has been a long time since I visited there. If I visit Delhi again, this will be the first place I will rush into. And I will always love this place for all the good memories it gave me.

Describe A Cafe You Like To Visit: Sample Answer 2

Now look at sample 2 for the Describe A Cafe You Like To Visit cue card. Observe the sentence structure and the flow of the sentences.

I am a socially extroverted person and I love going to public places such as cafes. Here I get to interact with a lot of new people.

My favourite place to visit is the Daffodil Cafe.

It is located opposite my apartment. Since I live in a small town this place is the only cafe in our locality.

I often have my breakfast from here. They serve delicious burgers and crispy fries. In addition to the food, they also have drinks at a reasonable price.

I love this cafe for the vibrant atmosphere it has. The colourful walls and paintings of the place make it a beautiful place to visit often. From children to adults, a lot of people visit here daily.

Even when I rush to my workplace I find 10 minutes to sip a coffee from here. Daffodil Cafe gave me a lot of new friends and I love visiting there often.

Describe A Cafe You Like To Visit: Sample Answer 3

The final sample for the Describe A Cafe You Like To Visit cue card is given below. Read the answers carefully and see how you can answer a single question in multiple ways.

My favourite hobby is reading books. Instead of reading in a reading room, I often opt for quiet cafes and less crowded parks.

My favourite place for this is a cafe named Seaside.

As the name suggests, the cafe is located on the beach. It is a small single-storey building, facing the sea.

It does not offer a lot of food items. Mostly they have snacks, fries and coffee. It is not a great option for foodies.

But I love this place for the quiet atmosphere and the beautiful scenery it has. Not many people come here during working days. So it is a good place to read a book or to do your work.

I often recommend this place to my friends. I would love to visit this place again and again.

IELTS Speaking Part 3: Discussion

After completing part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test, you will have the third part of the test. Part 3 is a discussion section. Here, the examiner will ask you a few questions based on your cue card topic.

Frame your answers appropriately and answer the questions with proper grammar and vocabulary.

We have compiled some sample questions and their answers for the Describe A Cafe You Like To Visit cue card.

Check out the sample questions and their answers carefully.

Q1. Are cafes more popular than restaurants?

Answer: Yes, I believe cafes are more popular than restaurants. In recent times, they are gaining more popularity among the public. A major reason for this trend is that restaurants are more formal spaces where you go only to have your food. On the other hand, cafes are a good option to casually hang out with your friends or to meet someone new.

Q2. Why do young people go to cafes more?

Answer: Young people opt for cafes for their open and refreshing ambience. Cafes are more open spaces for social interaction and activities. Apart from serving food, cafes have evolved into a space for young people to meet each other and have fun.

Q3. Do Indians prefer tea over coffee?

Answer: Yes, the majority of Indians prefer tea to coffee. Although tea is a common beverage in most Indian states, they are not the same drink. Indians have a variety of teas with different flavours and colours. While masala tea is popular in Delhi, it is the noon tea that is most preferred in Kashmir. After tea, coffee could be the most popular drink in the country.

Q4. What is the one change you would suggest for your favourite cafe?

Answer: Although I love going to my favourite Seaside Cafe, one thing I would suggest is to include more variety in its food menu. While the cafe provides a really good ambience and view, it lacks many food options. This is a major reason why most food lovers do not prefer this place. Bringing in more food options could be a good addition to the Seaside Cafe.

Q5. Do you think cafes are important in society?

Answer: Yes, I believe that cafes are important in our society. Cafes are a gathering space. People come here to visit each other, to share ideas, to share some food and to maintain connections. They also provide a place to relax and enjoy with your friends. So, I truly believe that cafes are important in our society.

Whenever I go there, which is mostly often; the first think I do is to order Double cocoa latte . It’s my favourite! Sample Answer

I’m going to describe this small café I know. It’s in the old part of town and from the outside it doesn’t look like much . But then, once you walk in, the first thing that hits you is the aroma, the smell of real coffee. There’s this long counter with an expresso coffee machine at one end and bar stools for you to sit. The coffee is the best I’ve ever tasted. And, if it’s a snack you’re after , there are the pastries, savoury and sweet, the first with cheese, creamy delicious cheese or ham and the latter with all kinds of fruits. And let’s not forget the cakes. And everything is home-made I should add. The old couple that run the place came originally from Spain and, luckily for us, brought their culinary skills with them.

They do lunches as well as breakfast and snacks though I’ve only eaten lunch there once or twice over the years because I don’t work nearby and on Saturdays I’m always out and they never open on a Sunday. But if you happen to pass by one lunchtime and you fancy a bite to eat , try their Spanish “tortilla”, the famous Spanish omelette. It’s delicious. Apart from coffee, they serve tea and the usual range of commercial soft drinks. But I’d give them all a miss and go for one of their natural fruit juices. The orange juice is great but my own particular favourite is the lemon juice that they prepare with brown sugar. I’ll tell you, once you’ve tasted it, you’ll come back for more.

I mostly go there for breakfast. It’s not far from where I live and it’s on my way to the train station. It’s nice to just sit there for a while, drinking my coffee and soaking up the atmosphere . You see, it tends to get pretty busy that time of day and the tables are full of their regular customers chatting away, some in English, some in Spanish and other languages too. It’s lively but at the same time, it feels like a home from home , if you know what I mean, the kind of place where no one is trying to hurry you up to finish and leave.

And that’s mainly thanks to the owners.  They really seem to care and have put so much into the place .  No matter how busy they might be, they’ll always find the time to pass the time of day with me , asking me how I am or whether I enjoyed my breakfast. I consider myself so lucky to have found this place.

Describe a café you like to visit

Where it is?

What kinds of food and drinks it serves?

What do you do there?

And explain why you like to go there

I often go out to eat, to restaurants and cafes with my friends. I have some regular places that I like but the one that I always love to visit is Bocca Café in my hometown Pune. I was in college when I first visited the café and ever since, it has been my favourite place to spend time with friends.

The café has a nice ambience with courtly staff. It offers a variety of food and drinks unlike other conventional cafes. The food ranges from vegan to non-vegetarian with a myriad of options from continental to international cuisines. The mocktails served there are some of my favourites. They have a separate menu just for mocktails as well as hot beverages including different kinds of coffee and tea.

I visit the place at least once a month with my friends to sit and talk about our lives. The ambience of the café is very natural as it is filled with house plants and flowers. It gives me a sense of relaxation and calmness. I usually have some fun with friends playing Jenga, having some delectable food and just chatting until we run out of words. Sometimes, I go there alone taking my work with me to let myself feel fresh and get some new ideas for my company.

It is my go-to place whenever I feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle of my life. The place holds so many memories from my college years where my friends and I celebrated many birthdays, graduation and getting jobs. It feels warm and cozy to just sit there alone listening to some music. Also, I absolutely love the lip-smacking food and being a regular, I am sure I have tasted almost all of the items on the menu.

Vocabulary:

  • Courtly - friendly
  • Delectable - very delicious
  • Hustle and bustle - activity in a noisy setting
  • Lip-smacking - tasting extremely good

Part 3 Follow Up - Questions & Answers

1. what kind of people would like to go to a cafe.

People who enjoy spending time outside while drinking coffee or tea prefer going to a café. Often, people plan to meet with friends at cafes as they are good places with a nice ambience and pleasant environment to spend some good time. Besides, some people like to study or work in cafes when they want a change of place.

2. Why do young people like studying in a cafe instead of at home?

Sometimes, people like to have a change of place so they can concentrate better and this is why people like to go to a café to study and have some beverage to help them think better. At home, they could have some kind of distraction which makes them become busy with other things but at a café, all their concentration would solely be on studying.

3. Do older people like to drink coffee?

Yes, but I don’t think age has anything to do with having a preference to drink coffee or not. A lot of people like drinking coffee every morning while some others never do. Even older people like having coffee once or twice per day as they are used to drinking it and enjoying it as well.

4. Do Indian people like to drink coffee?

In India, a majority of people like drinking tea. I have to say, there are more tea stalls than coffee shops in India. People are used to having tea and love drinking it every single day. This is also a kind of custom that has been prevalent for years. In my family, everyone drinks tea except my sister and me as we prefer coffee.

What is the name of the cafe?

The cafe, named Sky Beach Rooftop Cafe, is simply called Sky Beach Cafe.

Where is the cafe located?

This cafe is located in Vaishali Nagar, Queens Road, just 2 km from my workplace. I visited it for the first time when I planned my birthday party there.

What kind of food does it serve?

The cafe offers a diverse menu featuring a mixture of Indian, Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, and Chinese cuisines. It has Ravioli, Bruschetta, Lasagna, Nachos and different types of Pasta, Pizza, Spring Rolls, soup, Momos, kebabs, falafel, Indian Fast food and Thali. But I love to eat its Supreme Garlic Bread and Sizzler. Its Sizzler and Garlic Bread tastes quite delicious, and its presentation looks very appealing to me. Additionally, it serves a range of freshly brewed coffees, aromatic teas, and refreshing mocktails and cocktails.

I love to visit less crowded cafes, and recently, I visited a café in Kota.

The name of the café is “Café Mellow”.

It is mainly located in Talwandi, Kota. It is a rooftop café situated near Keshavpura Circle, Kota.

Cafe Mellow in Kota serves a variety of dishes catering to different tastes. Their menu features a mix of comfort foods like sandwiches, burgers, and pasta. The cafe also offers various beverages, including coffee, tea, and refreshing mocktails to accompany your meal. Although I like all the food, I love its hot chocolate and crispy corn the most. So, whenever I visit the café, I make sure to order hot chocolate and crispy corn. Overall, the cafe and its food is amazingly delicious and presentable.

I like Cafe Mellow in Kota for its cosy and welcoming ambience. It offers something for everyone, whether you want to read books, play board or table games, work on projects, or have friend gatherings.

The availability of books to read adds a touch of intellectual motivation, while the designated play area ensures you can enjoy your meals without worry. The well-equipped work area also provides a favourable environment for studying or getting work done.

Below is the IELTS Speaking cue card sample answer 3 for the topic - Describe a cafe you like to visit.

As a big foodie, I love to explore different cafés. Recently, I visited a café in C scheme Jaipur with my cousin.

The café name is “On The House”, commonly known as OTH.

The café is located in C Scheme, Jaipur. This café is considered one of the top cafes in North Indian Restaurants in Jaipur.

Its multi-cuisine menu is filled with rich flavours of Lebanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, and Continental dishes. You will find every type of junk food here, but the one I like the most is Pizza. I ordered Veggie Deluxe Pizza, which was filled with Bell pepper, onions, olives, and lots of mozzarella cheese.

I like the café because of its fantastic, delicious meals. They serve fresh and flavoursome food. I also like its services; they serve quality food, and their staff is so humble. You will feel royal in this café. As I told you, I ordered the Pizza—it was a 10/10. Finding a good barista has been difficult, and OTH Cafe has hit the spot.

Overall, the OTH Café is my priority in Jaipur, especially for Pizza and Coffee.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 – Follow up questions

Below are the follow-up questions for the topic “Describe a Café you would like to visit.”

Q1. Do people prefer cafés over restaurants?

Ans. In my opinion, cafés are more well-liked than restaurants. They are becoming increasingly well-liked by the general public. The fact that restaurants are more formal settings where you go exclusively to eat is a significant factor in this tendency. Conversely, cafés are a great place to meet new people or hang out informally with friends.

Q2. Why do young people visit cafés more often?

Ans. Cafes are more airy areas for activity and social contact. They are becoming more than just places to get meals; they're places where young people can connect and hang out.

Q3. Is tea more popular in India than coffee?

Ans. Yes, most Indians would say that tea is preferable to coffee. While tea is a popular drink in most Indian states, the two differ. Indians drink a wide range of teas with various flavours and hues. In Kashmir, noon tea is the most popular type of tea, whereas masala tea is popular in Delhi. Coffee may be the most consumed beverage in the nation, after tea.

Q4. If you could make one modification to your favourite cafe, what would it be?

Ans. While I like frequenting my favourite Seaside Cafe, I recommend expanding the menu's diversity. The café has a great view and atmosphere, but not much cuisine. Describe a cafe you like to visit | IELTS Cue Card | IELTS Coaching

Question  :

Describe a cafe you like to visit ..

Where it is? What kinds of food and drinks it serves? what you do there? Explain why you like to visit this cafe.

Introduction

I am a very outgoing person, and love to visit different places. I visit different cafes along with my friends and family as I love to try various cuisines.

Where it is

There is this one café near my place, which is personally my favourite. It is located near my college in Kamla Nagar and whenever I go there, it always has atleast ten people in the waiting. The ambience there is amazing and the delicacies offered are delicious.

What kinds of food and drinks it serves

There is a variety of Italian dishes and continental food. They have amazing pan cakes with strawberries and chocolate syrup on it. Strawberry nutella pan cake is their dessert that tops my list. There is a wide range of mocktails offered by them, like blueberry strawberry mocktail, lemon orange mint mocktail and many more.

What you do there

There are board games available there like chess, jenga and monopoly. While having the food one can play these board games with their friends, or else interact with each other. It is a very lively café, with soft music playing in the background which is pleasing to the ears.

And explain why you like to visit this cafe.

I and my friends visit this café once in ten days because we love this place. I enjoy the ambience of this place and this café has something about its food that I start missing its pancakes and kinds of pasta after a week. It is one amazing cafe that everyone should try.
