Sydney, Australia

Sydney is Australia's showcase city, and its grand harbor never fails to impress arriving cruise ship passengers. Its most famous attractions are the landmark Opera House and Harbor Bridge. Bondi Beach is a surfer's heaven, and Watson's Bay offers terrific views of Sydney's skyline. View kangaroos, emus and, of course, koalas at Koala Park, or take a stroll through The Rocks, Sydney's oldest neighborhood.

Short Cruises from Sydney

Relax and unwind on a luxury cruise

Short cruises from Sydney make for an unforgettable getaway. Sail out of Sydney Harbour in style and admire the city’s magnificent skyline from the deck of the luxurious Celebrity Edge. You’ll have a full day in either Hobart or Eden to enjoy activities ashore. Hobart’s bustling waterfront and world-class art galleries beckon, while from Eden, you could hike or kayak, admiring the rugged shoreline of the Sapphire Coast, or spot wildlife in the national parks.

On board, spend your time relaxing by the pool, unwinding in The Spa, and admiring the endless views of the sparkling Pacific from the Magic Carpet®, a floating platform cantilevered over the side of the ship. Elevate your cruise experience with a stay at The Retreat®, where you’ll enjoy an exclusive sundeck and elegant lounge.

Itineraries

Featured ports of call, eden, australia.

Eden lies on the Sapphire Coast, with more than 150 beaches to choose from. Or you can explore its untamed hinterland to spot kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, and hundreds of species of birds on a guided bush walk. Cruise the pristine shoreline of Twofold Bay, and learn about the town’s whaling heritage, which today is focused on conservation. Don’t miss a chance to sample the tasty Sydney rock oysters that are farmed in the pristine estuaries here.

Hobart, Australia

Tasmania’s capital has built a reputation for its gastronomy and exciting art scene. Taste locally produced cheeses, honey, wine, and craft beers at one of the farmers’ markets, and explore the pubs along the historic waterfront. For the finest Aboriginal art, head to Art Mob in the city. Or visit the impressive Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), which is carved out of ancient sandstone. For hiking and cycling, head up Mount Wellington, where you’ll be rewarded with  sweeping views.

Celebrity Cruises is officially back in Aus!

Celebrity Cruises celebrates its highly anticipated return to Australian and New Zealand waters, marking a new beginning for the cruise line.

On Saturday, Celebrity Eclipse set sail from Sydney on a 12-night itinerary exploring the wilderness of New Zealand. This voyage is the first of 17 sailings departing from Sydney and Auckland through April 2023, and the first for Celebrity Eclipse in Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific waters.

“The return Down Under has been long-awaited but someday has finally arrived! Celebrity Eclipse is the first Celebrity ship to sail this region for 930 days – a momentous occasion for the brand and our team members who have worked so hard to get to this point; and the first of many WonderFULL sailings ahead,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises.

“Returning to this region is another significant milestone in the industry’s global recovery, as we sail forward into a bright future.”

Celebrity Cruises vice president and managing director of Australia and APAC, Tim Jones, added: “We’ve been patiently waiting for this moment for so long, and to finally see the freshly painted blue hull of Celebrity Eclipse slice through the waters of Sydney Harbour didn’t disappoint.

“We were one of the remaining major cruise markets to return to service, and we are really proud to be contributing to the tourism industries of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific once more, alongside rebuilding the economy of key coastal communities.

“Continuing our momentum in the region, next year we’ll be taking the guest experience to the ‘Edge’ with the debut season of Celebrity Edge Down Under!

“It’s the great outdoors that makes this region truly exceptional and we can’t wait to welcome an equally exceptional ship that’s been uniquely designed to connect guests with their surroundings. Whether you’re flying Down Under to join us, or stepping aboard from your front door, Celebrity Edge is a chance to explore our exotic landscapes like never before, all while sailing in complete luxury. ”

Highlights of Celebrity’s 2022-23 season Down Under include:

  • The Great Barrier Reef from above and below with a choice of multiple experiences from privately chartered yachts to helicopter rides;
  • Savour some incredible local wines and culinary in the first-ever Australian food and wine itinerary to Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart;
  • A new overnight opportunity in Hobart, Cairns and Adelaide to experience the nightlife in each of these cities;
  • Stay longer in port with 8pm departures from popular destinations such as Melbourne, Brisbane and Christchurch;
  • The Auckland to Fiji voyage makes a comeback, departing for the first time in January;
  • Three South Pacific Island itineraries;
  • And, a new transpacific sailing at the end of the season, seamlessly transporting guests between Sydney and Honolulu and crossing the international date line.

But staterooms and specialty restaurants are only part of the charm. Celebrity Solstice also has the luxury spa, Canyon Ranch SpaClub , where you can pamper yourself with spa treatments or push yourself in a workout with one of the personalized trainers. A top Hollywood producer has made some shocking remarks about actress Sydney Sweeney.

Carol Baum, who has worked in the industry for decades and whose movies include the iconic Father of the Brid e, has claimed that the Hollywood starlet is “unwatchable” and alleged that she “isn’t pretty”.

A top Hollywood exec has lashed out at Sydney Sweeney’s meteoric rise to fame. Photo by Jamie McCarthy.

“There’s an actress who everybody loves now – Sydney Sweeney,” she told a New York Times journalist at an industry event.

“I don’t get Sydney Sweeney. I was watching on the plane Sydney Sweeney’s movie because I wanted to watch it,” she said, referring to smash hit romcom about Anyone But You which was filmed in Australia.

“I wanted to know who she is and why everybody’s talking about her. I watched this unwatchable movie – sorry to people who love this movie – [this] romantic comedy where they hate each other,” she continued.

Referencing the producing class that she teaches at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Baum, who has produced movies for the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Michael Doulas, shared: “I said to my class, ‘Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?’ Nobody had an answer but then the question was asked, ‘Well if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?’

Sweeney has enjoyed massive success over the last couple of years, and is showing no sign of slowing down. Photo by Craig Barritt/Getty Images for LANEIGE.

“I said, ‘Well that’s a really good question … that’s a very hard question to answer because we all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made.’”

Sweeney has enjoyed huge success in recent years. After acing her classes at school, she went on to star in HBO hit Euphoria before creating her own production company. She recently starred in and produced Immaculate , for which her performance in the horror flick received rave reviews.

Meanwhile, producer Baum hasn’t worked on a movie since 2008, and has worked on infamous box office flops including 1992’s A Stanger Among Us starring Julia Roberts and the much-maligned movie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Travis Barker has marked his wife Kourtney Kardashian’s birthday... by absolutely trolling her with a very intimate photo on Instagram.
