It’s rare that Tom Cruise, who is known equally for being an actor and a Scientologist, steps out in public with one of his adult children who he adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. But after he was photographed with daughter Bella Cruise, people are wondering about his son, Connor Cruise , and what his life is like mostly out of the spotlight.

In a way, Tom has done the right thing in shielding his kids from the harsh light of the public. Clearly, he has had his own run-ins with less than favorable publicity. But in doing so, he has created even more mystique surrounding them and plenty of questions from the public about who his kids are and what his relationship with them is really like.

So, who is Connor Cruise's wife?

In 2019, Connor married fellow Scientologist Silvia Zanchi. Although her Instagram is private, according to Women’s Day Australia , Silvia is not only part of the religion, but she is also a staff member from Italy who moved to Florida and met Connor there. She is also from a family of devoted parishioners. And, by all accounts, she is faithful to their shared religion. So much so that Connor’s mom, Nicole Kidman, was allegedly barred from attending the ceremony.

Silvia is rumored to be a high-ranking member of the Church of Scientology and, although there has been no confirmation that Connor’s marriage to her was arranged, the rumors are rampant that that’s exactly what happened. Still, despite being part of a religion that still has people asking so many questions and is often in the spotlight, Connor and Silvia appear to enjoy their privacy for the most part.

Connor Cruise doesn't seem to have much contact with his mom, Nicole Kidman.

Not only did Nicole, who left Scientology in 1997, not attend Connor’s wedding , but she was also absent from daughter Bella’s. There have long since been rumors that Nicole isn't close to either of her adult children, and in 2018, she spoke candidly to Who magazine about her relationship with her kids and her support for their life choices.

"They are adults," Nicole said, of Connor and Bella. "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here."

What is Connor Cruise's job?

Over the years, Connor has tried his hand at acting and even had a small following as a DJ, but these days, it looks like he has devoted his life to deep-sea fishing where he lives in Clearwater, Fla. In 2018, he even competed in and came in third for the Rotary Club of Clearwater's Kingfish Tournament with his team. Connor doesn't often update his Instagram or give interviews, but he seems to keep plenty busy with his wife and changing careers.

Unfortunately, that just means people are going to continue to wonder about what goes on behind closed doors while he continues to live that Scientology life. And for now, with Tom Cruise as his dad and plenty of questions from those outside of Scientology about the religion itself, that’s likely exactly what will happen.

Nicole Kidman Makes Rare, Heartbreaking Comments About Scientology and Her Children With Tom Cruise

By Michelle Ruiz

Image may contain Light Flare Human Person Lighting and Finger

Nicole Kidman seldom speaks about her two grown children with Tom Cruise—Isabella, 25, and Connor, 23, both of whom decided to live with their father and, like Cruise, practice Scientology, after the couple split in 2001. But promoting her new film, Boy Erased , in which Kidman plays the mother of a gay son ( Lucas Hedges ), has predictably sparked questions and prompted Kidman to break her silence on Isabella and Connor.

“They are adults,” Kidman told Australia’s Who magazine . “They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”

In comments that would apply both to her role in the film and her own life, Kidman—who is also mom to two daughters, Sunday and Faith, with her husband, Keith Urban—went on to stress the importance of tolerance in mother-child relationships: “That’s what I believe—that no matter what your child does, the child has love, and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here. I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family—I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.”

Her words are heartbreaking in the context of Kidman’s past statements about her children choosing to live with Cruise and to practice Scientology, which seems to have driven a wedge between them. (See the account from ex-Cruise friend and Scientology whistle-blower Leah Remini saying Isabella once referred to Kidman as a “fucking SP”—Scientology lingo for a “suppressive person” outside the religion.) Kidman told Who that she is very private about her eldest kids but is secure in the knowledge that being a mother is her “purpose”: “I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children.”

Nicole Kidman Talks Scientology, Kids Connor and Bella Cruise

Nicole Kidman hardly ever speaks about Connor and Bella Cruise, her two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise , but the actress made a rare exception during a recent interview with Australia’s Who magazine .

“I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships,” she said. “I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”

Though Kidman doesn’t practice Scientology like her ex, their children still do. According to the actress, she’s learned to accept their affiliation with the controversial church organization. “They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions,” she said of her 23-year-old son and 25-year-old daughter. “They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”

Kidman went on to say that she is an “example of tolerance.” She elaborated, “That’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”

The Oscar winner — who plays the mother of a teen struggling with his sexuality in Boy Erased , the new film based off Garrard Conley’s 2016 memoir of the same name — said that offering “unconditional love” is a parent’s most important job.

“I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family — I believe it’s wrong,” said Kidman. “So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.”

Kidman’s Who interview comes weeks after she penned an essay for New York magazine, in which she opened up about her marriage to Cruise. In her piece, Kidman said that her marriage to the movie star protected her from sexual harassment in the entertainment industry.

“I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man kept me from being sexually harassed,” she wrote. “I would work, but I was still very much cocooned. So when I came out of it at 32, 33, it’s almost like I had to grow up.”

Kidman and Cruise tied the knot in 1990 after meeting on the set of the film  Days of Thunder . They divorced in 2001. Kidman is now married to country singer Keith Urban , with whom she shares daughters Sunday, 10, and Faith, 7.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's daughter says Scientology was the 'missing piece' that helped her make sense of her life

  • Isabella Cruise, the adopted daughter of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise , implored members of the Church of Scientology to join its internship program.
  • In a letter to the church's members, she said its internship program was the "missing piece" that helped her make sense of her life and devote herself to the organization.
  • While the adopted children appear to be close with Tom Cruise, a prominent Church of Scientology member, Nicole Kidman has reportedly been deemed a "Suppressive Person," which means church members aren't supposed to talk to her.

Insider Today

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise's daughter Isabella Cruise is speaking out about her experience in the Church of Scientology.

In a letter sent to church members, she said the organization helped her make sense of her life — and encouraged people to join its internship program.

The letter, obtained by anti-Scientology critic and journalist Tony Ortega , details Cruise's experience "going clear" to become accepted within the organization. Her life changed, she said, when she took an internship that trained her to become an "auditor," a term used within the organization for people who bring other members to "clear" status using aggressive questioning and an electronic device called an E-Meter.

"It turned out it was exactly what I needed," Cruise wrote. "This IS what I had been searching for. The missing piece. Suddenly everything began to make sense."

Cruise, who goes by Bella Cruise, apparently wrote the letter to encourage other people to go through the internship. She gushed about how it shaped her identity.

"I became that annoying girl in the org who would just talk endlessly about how incredible training is and how phenomenal the internship is," she wrote. "The internship, for me, is what made me a Scientologist. I don’t just believe the tech works now. I know without any doubt that it does."

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman adopted Isabella and Connor Cruise when they were married between 1990 and 2001. While Cruise is a prominent member of the Church of Scientology and apparently remains close to the children, Kidman seems to have limited contact with the two. She didn't mention them in her Golden Globe speech in 2018 , when she thanked her current husband Keith Urban and her two children with him.

Kidman is reportedly a designated "Suppressive Person" within the organization , which means her children are supposed to sever ties with her. In November, she told the Australian magazine Who that she still loves them.

"They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it's my job to love them," she told Who. "I think that's so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family — I believe it’s wrong. Tom Cruise's former Scientology auditor speaks about Cruise/Kidman divorce

By Anna Schecter

Rock Center

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's settlement is now final and neither of them has publicly addressed reports that the Church of Scientology-and the future role of Scientology in their daughter Suri’s life-was a cause of the split.

One former Church of Scientology official is speaking out about what he said he witnessed at the time of Cruise’s 2001 divorce from actress Nicole Kidman.

Marty Rathbun, who worked at the church for 27 years before leaving in 2004, said that he believes church officials used Scientology doctrine to turn Kidman’s children against her.

“It was more than implied….[Kidman] was somebody that they shouldn't open up with, they shouldn't communicate with, and they shouldn't spend much time with,” said Rathbun in an interview airing Thursday, July 17 at 10pm/9c on NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams.

Rathbun said he spent countless hours working with Cruise at the church’s celebrity center in California starting in late 2001.  He said he was conducting counseling sessions with Cruise that the church calls "auditing.”

“[Cruise] and I were intensively at it, you know, auditing several hours a day over several months,” he said.

When Cruise’s children were with their father at the church, they were often in the hands of the Church of Scientology staff, according to Rathbun.

“And they were being indoctrinated, and they were reporting to Tom on how that was going in my presence,” Rathbun said.

Rathbun claims church officials suggested to Cruise and Kidman’s children, then six and nine years old, that their mother was a “suppressive person,” which the church’s website, Scientology.org , defines as “a person who seeks to suppress other people in their vicinity.”

“A Suppressive Person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent. The "suppressive person" is also known as the " anti-social personality." Within this category one finds Napoleon, Hitler, the unrepentant killer and the drug lord,” according to the official Church of Scientology's website, Scientology.org .

Rathbun said the Church of Scientology closely monitors the communication of high profile members and orders members to sever ties with suppressive people, particularly those who are critical of the church.

“That person could be your son, it could be your daughter, it could be your father, it could be your mother.  It doesn't matter,” Rathbun said.

Rathbun said these policies came into play with regards to Kidman’s children, Conner and Isabella.  “They were being steered toward and indoctrinated toward coming to the conclusion that Nicole was a suppressive person,” he said.

The Church of Scientology has denied that any such conversations with Kidman’s children took place. It has said that it has no policy that requires members to sever ties with relatives who do not believe in the religion. On the church's website, Scientology.org , it says that, "A Scientologist can have trouble making spiritual progress in his auditing or training if he is connected to someone who is suppressive...[and] as a last resort, when all attempts to handle have failed, one 'disconnects' from or stops communicating with the person."

The church declined to comment on the divorce of Cruise and Holmes, saying it would be “inappropriate.”

Kidman’s publicist did not respond to requests for comment on this story.  A representative for Cruise told Rock Center that Rathbun is not a reliable source.

"He is a bitter ex-Scientologist who spends most of his time attacking Scientology and using Tom Cruise's name to get attention for his bigoted diatribe. If he "audited" Mr. Cruise, he is violating the privilege of that position by discussing it," said Bert Fields, Cruise's representative.

Of the Church of Scientology's role in influencing Kidman and Cruise's children, Fields said, "It is absolutely false that Mr. Cruise, or anyone else to his knowledge, did or said anything to lessen Connor and Bella's communication or relationship with their mother.  On the contrary, Mr. Cruise did all he could to encourage that relationship."

In a letter to NBC News, Gary Soter, an attorney for the Church of Scientology, wrote that Rathbun is an unreliable source and a liar.  Soter described Rathbun as “a defrocked ex-communicated apostate.”

Soter wrote that Rathbun is a self-promoter who is “shamelessly” exploiting a tragic personal matter to forward his own anti-Scientology agenda and to profit from it.

Scientology’s online publication FreedomMag.org contains numerous allegations against Rathbun, including charges of violent and psychotic behavior.

Rathbun admits to violent behavior against other members of the church while still a member himself, but says it was part of the culture within the church, which the church denies.

One of the posts on FreedomMag.org asserts that church officials ultimately fired Rathbun from the church for bad behavior and had to “clean up his mess.”

When asked about the allegations against him, Rathbun replied, “Then why was I assigned by the Chairman of the Board to audit Tom Cruise during the last four years of my involvement at the Church of Scientology?”

Inside Nicole Kidman's Relationship With Her Kids Bella And Connor Cruise

Nicole Kidman with children

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are the parents of two adopted children, Connor and Isabella "Bella" Cruise. When the couple split, the "Moulin Rogue" actor's relationship with their kids became fractured. She has since moved on with country star Keith Urban and welcomed two girls, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, but there has been much speculation about where things stand with Kidman and her eldest children.

The specifics of their relationship may be vague, but when Kidman speaks about Connor and Bella to the press, there's a lot of love. "Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love," she said in  The Sun  in 2019. She has also made it clear that there is no difference between having adopted or biological children. "It's the emotion of attaching to a child and helping to guide them and rear them [that is important]," she told Tatler in 2018.

They are all grown up, and their mom feels they've turned out well. "They are healthy and sane and together and are great, great people," she told Associated Press (via Daily Mail ) in 2010. "So I'm not one of those people that needs to be reminded of what I have." But that doesn't mean everything has always been perfect. Here's how Nicole Kidman's relationship with Bella and Connor has evolved over the years.

Nicole Kidman adopted her children in in 1992 and 1995

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise married in 1990. The "Batman Forever" actor knew she wanted to start a family with her husband, but the traditional route was not possible for them. "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," Kidman told Vanity Fair . "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when we would adopt [our daughter] Bella."

The Oscar winner has been open about her fertility and miscarriage and how it impacted her experience with motherhood. "I wish I'd had more children, but I wasn't given that choice," she told Marie Claire in 2021. She did become a mom for the first time, thanks to adoption. First to Isabella "Bella" Cruise in 1992 and later to Connor Cruise in 1995. The love the star felt for her children was instant.

"When I held Bella in my arms, that was everything. I look into those eyes, and that crazy love happens — it's crazy love because you'll do anything when you have a child," Kidman told The Independent in a 1998 interview. "It opens up a part of your heart you didn't even know was there." At the same time, Kidman is open to them connecting with their birth parents. "That's part of my belief on adoption," she told E! News in 2016. "If a child wants to find their birth mother, I'm absolutely supportive of that."

Nicole Kidman's divorce from Tom Cruise impacted her children

There was a time when Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were one of Hollywood's hottest couples. "He swept me off my feet. I fell madly, passionately in love," she told The Sun. And things between them moved quickly. "I was so young. I look back now, and I'm like, 'What?' I had two kids by the time I was 27, and I'd been married for four years. But that's what I wanted," she shared.

But that ended with their divorce in 2001. Following their split, something seemingly shifted in Kidman's relationship with her children."They live with Tom, which was their choice," she said in 2010, per  Hello!  magazine. "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?" Kidman and Tom agreed to joint custody of their children, but there's been much speculation about how much time she spends with them. There would be years without photographs of them in public, and there have been reports that Tom has excluded Kidman from special events, like their son's wedding, per Radar . (In 2019, Connor reportedly married Silvia Zanchi, who is a member of the Church of Scientology.)

The questions about their dynamic were fueled when Kidman accepted an Emmy for Best Actress in a Limited Series in 2017 for her work in "Big Little Lies" and mentioned only her youngest kids in her speech. "I am also a mother and a wife. I have two little girls, Sunny and Faith," she said. "This is yours."

They stopped calling Nicole Kidman 'mom'

Nicole Kidman has been reluctant to share too much about her relationship with Bella and Connor Cruise, but she has offered some rather telling details over the years. "My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom," she once told GMTV (via Marie Claire ). "They call me Nicole, which I hate, and tell them off for it."

To make matters worse, Tom Cruise's second wife, Katie Holmes, had previously gushed about her relationship with his and Kidman's kids. She said in a 2007 interview with Parade (via People ), "His first two children [Connor and Isabella] are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me 'Mom.'" In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2006, Holmes also spoke about the teens and their bond with their sister, Suri Cruise. "It's really special to see them [Bella and Connor] holding their little sister," she said. "To hear them talk about all of the fun things they are going to do together." Following Tom and Holmes' divorce, Suri reportedly became estranged from Tom ;  Suri's current relationship with her older siblings  is unclear.

Despite the complex relationship dynamics between Kidman and her children, she has stressed the importance of motherhood — regardless of the circumstances. "My daughter and son, their life is molded by the way I live," she said in a 2007 interview (via People ). "If I wasn't willing to take on that responsibility, I shouldn't have adopted them."

Nicole Kidman's children are members of the Church of Scientology

Tom Cruise is arguably one of the most famous members of the Church of Scientology, and his older children, Bella and Connor Cruise, have followed in his footsteps. "They are adults," Nicole Kidman said in a 2018 interview with Who magazine. "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it's my job to love them." She added that she would continue to accept them because she is their parent. "No matter what your child does, the child has love, and the child has to know there is available love, and I'm open here," she shared.

Actor and former Scientologist Leah Remini has been far less diplomatic about the Kidman-Cruise kids' upbringing. In her 2015 memoir, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," "The King of Queens" star claimed Bella and Connor were kept away from any outside information that, as she put it, "might get them asking questions." Remini also remembered once asking Bella and Connor about spending time with Kidman. According to Remini, Bella allegedly responded, "Not if I have a choice. Our mom is a f***ing SP." "SP" stands for "suppressive person," which is the term the church uses for anyone who they view as an enemy.

Despite this, Kidman is supportive. "I've chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children who are Scientologists — Connor and Isabella — and I utterly respect their beliefs," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2013.

Nicole Kidman wants her relationship with her kids to remain private

Nicole Kidman is one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry. As such, there will always be an interest in what she does and what happens in her personal life. While she is willing to share some of it with fans, like her fertility issues, there are other aspects she prefers to keep under wraps, like her relationship with her two oldest children. "I'm very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships," she said in an interview with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 2018 (via Hello! magazine ). "I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is." Kidman has also made a point of keeping her two youngest children, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, away from the spotlight.

Bella and Connor Cruise seem to be more than fine with leading relatively quiet lives. "[Connor] is DJing, he's doing really well. Bella lives in London now," Kidman said in a 2013 interview with " Extra ." "I think that, you know, everybody has their own path, and when they find their path, it's such relief as a parent, you know?" She has also praised them for who they have become. In a 2014 interview with The Weekly , she said, "They are generous, kind, and hardworking, and these are traits that I love to see in my children."

Nicole Kidman has a deep love for her children

In the interviews Nicole Kidman has given about her children, she has made one thing clear: she loves them. While promoting her film "Lion," which is a story that involves adoption, she told Town & Country , "This movie is a love letter to my children." The 2016 biographical feature, which also stars Dev Patel, follows a young man who spent the bulk of his childhood with adoptive parents and wants to find his biological family. "I relate to that. I feel that for my own children who are adopted," Kidman said. "It's not about anything else other than 'I wanted you.' It's that deep and personal, and whatever your journey is, I'm here to love and support you."

Despite the obvious love she has for Bella and Connor, Kidman has been honest about how parenting can be a challenge. No matter what, she approaches it with openness and offers support. "Parenting is about learning who they are, not making them what you want them to be — letting them find their way then supporting them," she told The Sun. "It's rigorous. You're constantly looking at yourself, so you're not placing these expectations on a child." When asked to name the most difficult thing about being a mother in Vogue's "73 Questions" series, she replied, "Knowing I won't be here forever, so I won't always be here to take care of them."

Bella Cruise and Nicole Kidman reunited in 2016

Bella Cruise moved to London and lives her life mostly out of the spotlight, although she has a public Instagram page and refers to herself as Bella Kidman Cruise. There is much chatter about her bond with her mom, but she set the record straight in a 2012 interview with New Idea magazine (via E! News ). "I love mom. She's my mom. She's great. I see her sometimes, and I speak to her," she said. "We're a very close family. I love all of our family."

In 2015, Bella married Max Parker at the Dorchester Hotel. Neither Nicole Kidman nor Tom Cruise were there. While there was speculation about why Bella's parents skipped out on the wedding, a tipster told the Daily Mail  that they simply wanted to avoid creating a media frenzy. The source also claimed Kidman was involved in the planning process.

The wedding may have excluded Kidman, but Bella's marriage is believed to have opened doors. About a year after the wedding, Bella and Kidman reunited. "It was a very emotional moment for all of them, especially Nicole," a tipster told Woman's Day Australia (via New Zealand Herald ) in 2016. "It didn't take long for her to burst into tears, and Bella soon followed." This was also an opportunity for the actor to meet Parker, and the source said she took "an instant liking" to him.

Connor Cruise says he has a 'solid' relationship with his mom

While they may not be as close as Nicole Kidman would hope, Connor Cruise has said things are good between them. "I love my mum," he said in an interview with Woman's Day in 2014. "I don't care what people say; I know that me and Mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything. Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else."

His mother sure seems to share these sentiments about family. In an interview with The Weekly, the actor spoke about her children and husband, Keith Urban. "At this stage of my life, and with time being so precious, the joy I get from us as a family outweighs any joy in any other area of my life by far," she said.

In addition to working as a DJ, Connor is a keen fisherman, golfs from time to time, and enjoys barbecuing meat. Connor resides in Clearwater, Florida — yes, near Scientology headquarters and one of dad Tom Cruise's many properties. A source told People in 2018, "Connor has a pretty simple life in Clearwater." Though they lead entirely different lives, Kidman supports the path her son has chosen to follow. "Nicole only wants the best for Connor, but she gives him the freedom to make his own decisions, and that includes his religious beliefs and where he wants to live," a tipster told Hollywood Life .

Although Kidman keeps quiet about her relationship with Isabella, she did speak about her adult children in a November 2018 Who interview.

“They are adults,” the Emmy winner said of Isabella and Connor at the time. “They are able to make their own decisions.

“They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she continued.

“I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”

The duo watched basketball games together in Connor’s younger years, and have more recently been spotted boarding a helicopter and hanging out on the Jack Reacher set.

The Dawson’s Creek alum told Town & Country in 2017 that she provides the little one with a “stable and innocent” childhood.

Cruise, however, still has “no part” of his youngest child’s life, a source exclusively told Page Six .

In a 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media, the Jerry Maguire star said he didn’t see Suri for three months after his and Holmes’ break-up.

“Listen, when there is a divorce … things change,” Cruise said. “It’s not an ideal situation.”

Ex-Scientologist Leah Remini has asserted that Cruise “can’t be connected” to Suri because Holmes is considered a “suppressive person” or “enemy” in the religion.

Are Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman’s Kids Scientologists? What Bella And Connor Cruise Are Doing Now

Find out what Connor and Bella Cruise — the adopted children of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman—are doing now.

Side by side pictures of Connor and Bella Cruise. Connor is on a boat holding a huge fish. Bella is on the right wearing a blue shirt sticking her tongue out.

This year marks two decades since Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman called it quits on their marriage, and as we all know, both actors eventually established new families with different partners. But what became of the former couple’s children, Bella Cruise and Connor Cruise ? Tom Cruise’s kids reportedly stuck by their dad’s side after their parents split (unlike Suri Cruise, who is loyal to her mom, Katie Holmes.) Meanwhile, there is no evidence that Nicole Kidman’s kids with Keith Urban—Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret—have any sort of relationship with their step-siblings.

There’s a lot of mystery surrounding Cruise’s exes and children, and much of it stems from the actor’s affiliation with the Church of Scientology. But now that Bella and Connor are adults, we’re privy to some clues about their complicated family dynamics. Find out what they’re up to today and where they stand with their celebrity parents.

Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman Adopted Bella And Connor Cruise in The 1990s

Cruise and Kidman’s parenting journey had a challenging start. The Big Little Lies star suffered an ectopic pregnancy early in their relationship. When doctors informed Kidman that she was unlikely to conceive again, the couple turned to adoption as an alternative.

“From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies,” Kidman said in a 2007 interview with Marie Claire , as reported by USA Today . “And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic.”

In 1992, the couple adopted their daughter, Bella Cruise. Three years later, they adopted a son, Connor. The actors went to great lengths to shield their family from media scrutiny. Little is known about their upbringing, and they still prefer to maintain a low profile as adults.

It seems they take after their mom. Kidman remains relatively quiet when it comes to talking about her family.

“I’m very private about all that,” Kidman told Australian outlet Who in 2018. “I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”

However, she remains an outspoken advocate for adoption.

“Whether you’re an adoptive mother, whether you’re a foster mother, whether you’re a biological mother–it’s the emotion of attaching to a child and helping to guide them and rear them [that is important],” she told Tatler the same year.

Are Connor And Bella Cruise Scientologists Like Their Father?

Tom Cruise smiling and wearing sunglasses with a navy blue jacket and t-shirt.

Like their father, Bella and Connor Cruise are both actively involved in the Church of Scientology .

Since the organization is notorious for being highly secretive and litigious, very few people have gone on the record about the Cruises’ childhoods in the church. However, it is generally believed that their commitment grew deeper after their parents’ divorce. When the kids opted to stay with Cruise, Kidman moved back to Australia.

“Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they’ve been members since they were kids,” a source confirmed to People in 2019. “[They] are completely dedicated…just like Tom.”

Scientologists are allegedly ordered to ice out family members who leave the church. This lends some credibility to a rumor reported by The Sun that when Connor married fellow Scientologist Silvia Zanchi in 2019, Kidman was banned from the wedding.

Cruise’s hard feelings may have been a factor as well.

“First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor’s wedding because she’s considered a ‘suppressive person’ by the church,” according to a report from The Sun . “And, second, he doesn’t want her there.”

It wouldn’t have been a first for Kidman. She was also excluded when Bella married Max Parker in a 2015 Scientology ceremony.

Nicole Kidman Respects Bella And Connor’s Decision To Practice Scientology

Nicole Kidman in front of a blue backdrop smiling and wearing a black dress.

We’ll never know the extent to which Scientology strained the relationship between Kidman and her children . However, it seems like she has made peace with the things she can’t change.

“They are adults,” Kidman told Who . “They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”

She continued, “And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe–that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here. I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family–I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.”

Recent years brought promising signs of a potential reconciliation. Bella began publicly liking some of Kidman’s social media posts. Could she be looking to reconnect with her mom? Some people remain skeptical.

“Don’t get me wrong, Nicole is pleased, but it’s come a little out of the blue, given they’ve barely spoken since Bella was eight,” a source told Woman’s Day .

What Is Bella Cruise Doing Now?

Bella, 28, lives a very humble life in South London. According to neighbors who spoke with Woman’s Day , she “prefers to shop at regular shops like Marks & Spencer and live a simple life with her IT consultant hubby and their pet reptile.”

She was said to be working as a hairstylist, but her passion appears to be illustration. She currently sells T-shirts, prints, and tote bags covered in her own designs on her website . Bella does share an occasional selfie with her followers:

Bella also continues to be a cheerleader for Scientology. In March 2019, she wrote a promotional email on behalf of the organization . She revealed that she had qualified to become an auditor (or someone who “audits” fellow members about their secrets and private thoughts). Contents of the email are hard for non-Scientologists to decipher, but Bella seems to rave about a recent internship and encourages fellow members to follow her lead.

What Is Connor Cruise Doing Now?

Connor, 27, currently lives in Clearwater, Florida, close to Scientology’s international headquarters.

Ten years earlier, he had his dad’s blessing as he tried to launch a DJ career . Connor, who spun under the name DJ C-Squared, had gigs from Las Vegas to Australia. These days, he seems keener on catching fish than partying in the club. In 2018, he and his fishing team came in third in the Rotary Club of Clearwater’s Kingfish Tournament. The following year, Radar Online reported that Connor worked as a deep-sea fishing deckhand for 2 Shea Charters.

According a source, he “guts off a boat deck” and then “works for peanuts filleting finny critters caught by tourists who have no idea he’s the son of Hollywood royalty.”

Connor posts his fishing triumphs on Instagram and also recently started an account just for his cooking adventures . Check him out in action:

“Connor’s done some growing up these past few months and decided he doesn’t want to live his life spending his dad’s money,” the tipster added.

Connor Cruise: Nicole Kidman's Scientologist son has reportedly banned her from his wedding at Tom Cruise's instruction

connor cruise scientology

Nicole Kidman is reportedly banned from attending her son Connor Cruise’s wedding to an Italian Scientologist named Silvia. The move was allegedly her ex-husband Tom Cruise’s decision, who is said to back the belief of The Church of Scientology that she is a “suppressive person”.

The claims were made by Radar Online, who claim an insider revealed “Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law. Tom made the call and Connor followed.”

Connor is Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s adopted son and is 24 years old. Radar’s source claimed, “Connor worships the ground his father walks on and would never disobey Tom.”

connor cruise scientology

The source continued, “First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor's wedding because she's considered a 'suppressive person' by the church — and, second, he doesn't want her there.”

According to The Church of Scientology’s official website, a suppressive person is an individual who “seeks to suppress other people in their vicinity. A Suppressive Person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent.

The website also states that a suppressive person is “also known as the Anti-Social personality” and “seeks to upset, continuously undermine, spread bad news about and denigrate betterment activities”.

connor cruise scientology

It also states, “For the good of the Church and the individuals in it, such a person is officially labeled a Suppressive Person so that others will know not to associate with them.”

After Tom Cruise split from Nicole Kidman in 2001 citing “irreconcilable differences”, he retained custody of Connor and his sister Isabella Cruise . Connor and Isabella are reportedly both devout Scientologists.

According to prominent Scientology whistle-blower Tony Ortega, who leaked what he claimed was an email written by Isabella Cruise, Isabella recently underwent a “brutal” internship to become one of the church’s auditors, an individual who is “extensively trained to help other members through intense self-examination sessions with the help of an electronic device called the E-meter." In the reported email, she is said to have given a testimonial of her experience which read, "This IS what I had been searching for. The missing piece. Suddenly everything began to make sense ."

Speculation has surrounded Nicole Kidman’s relationship with her adopted children for some time, as they have rarely been seen out in public together since her divorce from Tom Cruise. (Kidman noted in an interview in 2007 that her children " don't even call me mom ".)

In a documentary called Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief , former scientologist Marty Rathbun claimed that he had been asked “to facilitate [Cruise’s] breakup with Nicole Kidman ” and also claimed that the church “re-educated” Connor and Isabella so that Cruise could retain custody. The documentary claims that Kidman and Cruise refused to comment.

The church has repeatedly denied Rathbun's claims and told The Independent that he was " an anti-Scientologist , desperate and delusional" as well as somebody who was "expelled from the Church for violating scripture".

Kidman is now married to country singer Keith Urban and they have two children together. Connor and his sister Isabella attended their 2006 wedding and were pictured leaving the reception with their mother.

Nicole Kidman thanked Keith Urban and their children in a recent Golden Globes speech after winning for her 2018 performance in Big Little Lies. (Some noted at the time that she did not thank her adopted children.)

She said to Who magazine, “They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”

'They don't really communicate': Nicole Kidman and son Connor Cruise are still at odds, source reveals

L OS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicole Kidman is a caring mother of four kids, but it seems that her two oldest children share a more close-knit relationship with their father, Kidman's ex-husband Tom Cruise .

Kidman has had a tense relationship with her adopted children, Connor, 29, and Isabella, 31 , since splitting from Cruise in 2001. It is claimed that Kidman is still friendly with her adopted daughter Bella, but is reportedly estranged from her son Connor.

Nicole Kidman and son Connor Cruise reportedly 'don't communicate'

Sources revealed to OK! Magazine that Kidman is purportedly holding out hope that son Connor Cruise would change his ways, even though he hasn't spoken to his mother in a while.

According to reports, the main reason behind their estrangement is that, although the 'Big Little Lies' actress left the Church of Scientology, the children continued to be Scientologists.

While Connor and Nicole "don't really communicate," the source added, "Nicole will always hold out hope that they can all be close again one day."

Kidman accepted the AFI Life Achievement Award in Los Angeles on April 27. Bella did "like" a few of her famous mother's social media posts about the posh event, but it's unknown if they remained in touch after that.

The gesture, according to a source, "made it clear Bella still has affection for her." In addition to the Instagram exchanges, the 31-year-old has decided to keep "Kidman" as part of her last name.

However, Connor is an ardent Scientologist and also purportedly "incredibly loyal" to his father Cruise.

Kidman and Cruise adopted daughter Isabella Jane in 1992, and son Connor in 1995. Later on, Cruise and his ex-wife Katie Holmes welcomed a daughter, Suri, 18.

About Kidman, she and her husband Keith Urban share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith, 13.

Nicole Kidman hopes Tom Cruise will encourage their kids to spend more time with her

During their marriage, the 'Mission: Impossible' star and the 'Big Little Lies' actress adopted both of their children. The children, however, preferred to live with Cruise over Kidman following their divorce.

Since her split from Cruise, Kidman reportedly has little to no communication with either Isabella or Connor, per Heat Magazine. The insider said, "There's still love and respect between Nicole and the kids, but she rarely sees them."

"The big issue is they're both still attached to Scientology, while Nicole left the church. Their loyalty is to their dad, who raised them after Nicole filed for divorce," the source added, per Geo News .

The source further said of Kidman, "She would have loved to share custody, but she wasn't able to make it happen. Now, she really has no choice but to accept the way things are, even though it's painful for her."

Even though she and Cruise separated a long time ago, the insider stated that Kidman still believes Cruise could help her get back in touch with her children.

"She worries that they've drifted to a point where she'll be lucky if she'll ever get to see them. It would help if Tom were to encourage it, but that's not likely," the source said.

The 'Aquaman' actress expounded on her relationship with her estranged children in a 2018 interview, explaining her decision to typically keep that aspect of her life private.

"They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions," Kidman said at the time. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it's my job to love them."

She added, "I'm very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is."

In another 2019 interview with The Sun, 'The Undoing' star opened up about her children's involvement with Scientology.

"Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love," she said at the time.

"They have made choices to be Scientologists. It's our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love," Kidman continued.

Tom Cruise Is the Proud Father to 3 Kids: Get to Know Isabella, Connor and Suri

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Tom Cruise might be one of the biggest names in Hollywood, though he has been known to keep his private life out of the spotlight. How many kids does he have and what are they up to today?

How Many Kids Does Tom Cruise Have?

The Top Gun actor is the father to three kids. He shares his two eldest kids – Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise – with ex-wife Nicole Kidman . After they tied the knot in 1990, the former couple adopted Bella in 1992. Their family continued to grow in 1995 when they adopted Connor.

After Tom and Nicole called it quits in 2001, the Risky Business actor welcomed daughter Suri with Katie Holmes in 2006. The couple tied the knot later that year, though eventually called it quits and divorced in 2012.

Who Is Isabella Cruise?

Unlike her famous parents, Bella didn’t go into the entertainment industry and has chosen to live a more private life. She and her husband, Max Parker , currently live in a three-bedroom property in South London, England, with their pet lizard.

Tom and Nicole’s eldest daughter works as an artist, and has updated her Instagram page with samples of her colorful drawings.

Additionally, she launched her own fashion brand called BKC, for “Bella Kidman Cruise,” in 2018.

“Bella has been drawing ever since her wee hands could pick up a pen. Since that point in time she’s been evolving in her arts,” her website states . “Her go-to medium was pen and paper for most of her life. However, she is now venturing into other formats and mediums. Including digital. Which has been a bit of a game changer in her opinion. We hope you dig it.”

Who Is Connor Cruise?

Connor is currently based in the Clearwater, Florida , area, where the Church of Scientology – which he is a member of – owns numerous properties.

He runs a barbeque food Instagram account, Connor’s Meat Shack , that launched in March 2021. The account includes photos and videos of different foods he’s prepared on the grill.

Similar to his sister, Connor doesn’t share much information about his personal life on social media. However, the siblings were featured in a rare photo with Tom when they attended a Tampa Bay Lightning game in December 2023.

Who Is Suri Cruise?

Suri became a legal adult when she turned 18 on April 18, 2024. She is still in high school as of May 2024 and has opted to live a more private life.

However, it was revealed in May 2024 that the teen snubbed her dad by not using her last name for a performance in a high school play. She used her mother’s middle name – which is Noelle – in place of “Cruise,” which was revealed by a casting sheet for her school production of Head Over Heels .

It’s currently unclear why she made the decision, though she notably doesn’t have a middle name of her own.

Tom Cruise's 'forgotten' kids who shunned mum Nicole Kidman after split

Tom Cruise reportedly no longer has a relationship with daughter Suri after splitting from Katie Holmes, but in contrast his elder kids are still members of the Church of Scientology and are estranged from mum Nicole Kidman

Tom Cruise's youngest daughter may have got as far away from Scientology as possible - but his other two kids are fully fledged members.

It's been reported that the Hollywood actor hasn't seen daughter Suri since his split from actress Katie Holmes and their bitter custody battle in 2012.

It's claimed Tom's religion caused the breakdown of their marriage as Katie had fears about raising Suri as a Scientologist - and now father and daughter are said to be estranged.

But Tom does have two other children who are often forgotten - and they remain in the upper ranks of the Church of Scientology.

In contrast to what happened with Suri, his older kids actually turned their backs on mum Nicole Kidman but still have a close relationship with their father.

Isabella and Connor Cruise were adopted by Tom and Nicole in 1992 and 1995 respectively - and the Hollywood power couple got joint custody when they divorced in 2001.

However, the kids decided to stay in LA with their dad when their mum moved back to Australia.

Tom raised Bella and Connor in the Church of Scientology and they have both become high-ranking members of the controversial faith.

"Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they've been members since they were kids,” a source told PEOPLE in 2019, adding that the siblings "are completely dedicated scientologists just like Tom".

Due to her alleged excommunication status as an "SP" [Suppressive Person], the kids have kept their distance from their mother.

Appearing on GMTV in 2007, Nicole revealed that her kids "don't even call me 'Mom' and she hated that they referred to her by her first name.

In 2018, she told WHO magazine: "They have made the choice to be Scientologists and as a mother, it's my job to love them.

"And I am an example of that tolerance and that's what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I'm open here.

"I think that's so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family — I believe it's wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love."

Nicole has had a strained relationship with the pair - and did not attend either of their weddings and reportedly didn't know that Bella was tying the knot with British IT consultant Max Parker in 2015 beforehand.

While Cruise was reportedly also not invited to Bella's wedding, he did know about the nuptials and footed the bill.

Connor married an Italian woman named Silvia Zanchi, who is a fellow Scientologist who also grew up in the religion, but Nicole was allegedly 'banned' from the wedding by Tom.

"Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law," an insider told Radar Online in 2019. "Tom made the call and Connor followed."

Adding that Connor "worships the ground his father walks on" the sources added: "First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor's wedding because she's considered a 'suppressive person' by the church — and, second, he doesn’t want her there."

Nicole never gave up on her "lost babies" and did start to reconnect with them since lockdowns began in 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Bella has now achieved 'auditor' status in the UK branch of the church, which means she can now quiz other Scientology followers about their deepest, darkest secrets using an e-meter - a sort of lie detector.

In a rare promotional email sent round to Scientologists in London obtained by the Sun, Bella wrote: "Thank you to my Dad for everything.

"I would have drowned in my own problems if you hadn't been there to sup me or get me through the preliminaries."

Bella lives in Croydon, south London, as an artist and has launched her own fashion collection.

While Connor remains in the upper ranks of the Scientology church at its HQ in Clearwater, Florida and is content living a quieter life out of the spotlight.

While Cruise is still close with his older kids, it's a completely different story with his youngest daughter.

Cruise has reportedly been estranged from Suri, who was born in 2006, for the last decade following his divorce from Holmes in 2012.

It's claimed Tom's religion played a huge part in the breakdown of their marriage and Katie had fears about raising her daughter as a Scientologist.

The actress wanted full custody so she could remove her daughter from the Church of Scientology, and she was reportedly attending a Scientology-influenced school in California at the time.

In a deposition in 2013, Cruise acknowledged that Scientology was the reason for his estrangement from Suri.

When lawyers asked point black whether Holmes ended their marriage "in part to protect Suri from Scientology", Cruise answered, "That was one of the assertions, yes."

It was reported in 2016 that Cruise hadn't seen Suri in three years due to an internal Scientology rule which stops members from associating with nonbelievers.

But sources told Paige Six that he could have seen Suri if he wanted to as "celebrities get to break all the rules".

It has now been reported that Tom is complete stranger to his daughter, who is 16 and is in the process of applying for colleges.

During their divorce, Tom agreed to pay Katie $400,000 each month until their daughter turns 18, as well as covering "medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs".

A source told the Daily Mail: "Suri does not know her father anymore and she has not spent time with him in a decade. She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life."

Suri was a daddy’s girl, but her parents parted ways when Suri was 6. Katie and Suri left the Church of Scientology and Tom was forbidden from speaking to either of them again.

“Katie was deemed a Suppressive Person and Suri, by extension, Potential Trouble Source,” former leading Scientologist Karen De La Carriere told DailyMail.com .

“Tom cannot engage or connect with his own daughter. In Scientology, it is Scientology first; family priorities come low down in the order,” Carriere added.

A “Suppressive Person,” is someone who does suppressive acts against the Church and are deemed enemies by church members.

Tom’s former bodyguard, Brendan Tighe confirmed Carriere’s claim.

“Basically, when it comes to Scientology thinking, there is a disconnection policy. When it’s applied rigorously, there is no room for emotion,” he said. “So long as Suri sides with her mom, there will be no contact with her dad.”

In addition to Suri, Tom has a daughter named Isabella and a son named Connor. Both Isabella and Connor are lifelong members of the Scientology Church.

Tom and Son Connor Cruise Likely in London to Attend Scientology Event Together: Source

Connor Cruise and Tom Cruise's shared commitment to Scientology has made their bond strong over the years

Writer-Reporter, PEOPLE

Tom Cruise and his son, Connor , likely attended a major Scientology event together after they were photographed together in London .

“Tom and Connor stepping out together in London was a big deal,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It was the same weekend that Scientology does their annual gathering called the International Association of Scientologists (ASI).”

The event is one that “Tom has attended numerous times in the past,” says the insider.

“This appears to be the first time Connor has gone,” the source adds.

On Saturday, the 57-year-old actor and his son were spotted heading to a private helicopter in London. Once inside the vehicle, Tom — who learned how to fly a helicopter for his role in the Mission: Impossible franchise — was seen showing Connor, 24, some aviation basics.

Connor was adopted by Tom and Nicole Kidman , 52, during their marriage, along with their daughter Isabella (Bella) , 26. The actor also shares 13-year-old daughter Suri with ex-wife Katie Holmes .

“Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they’ve been members since they were kids,” the source tells PEOPLE, adding the siblings “are completely dedicated Scientologists just like Tom.”

Connor and Tom’s shared commitment to Scientology has made their bond strong over the years.

“Connor has been able to remain close with Tom because of Scientology,” the source adds.

A source previously told PEOPLE that “Connor has a pretty simple life” in Clearwater, Florida.

“He lives in his own home in a Scientology community. His life is deep-sea fishing. He has a lot of friends and seems very well-liked.”

Connor’s sister, a fashion designer who goes by the name Bella, lives in London with her husband Max Parker , whom she married in 2015.

Tom Cruise and son Connor made a rare appearance together in New York City Saturday.

The “War of the Worlds” star and his 28-year-old son, whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, stepped out in the big apple for a promotional event for Tom’s upcoming film “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning.”

Tom wore a black button-up with blue jeans and black shoes. He completed the simple look with reflective aviator sunglasses and a silver wristwatch.

The “Top Gun: Maverick” star’s son also dressed casually for the event, wearing a gray collared shirt with blue jeans and sneakers.

The actor’s sister Lee Mapother also tagged along with the father-son duo.

Tom and Connor have made a handful of public appearances together in the past, including a 2021 Los Angeles Dodgers game in San Francisco, Calif.

Tom, 61, also shares daughter Isabella with Kidman, 56, whom he was married to from 1990 to 2001. They adopted Isabella and Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively.

As for Tom’s son, the “Seven Pounds” star seems to lead a low-key life outside of the spotlight.

Connor appears to enjoy fishing and playing golf in Florida. He also avoids posting photos of his A-list parents on his social media.

Isabella, who goes by Bella, also stays relatively under the radar . She moved from Los Angeles to live with her husband, Max Parker, in London.

Isabella Cruise

After Tom and Kidman divorced, the two kids chose to stay with their dad in Los Angeles while the “Big Little Lies” star resided in Australia.

In 2018, Kidman made a rare statement about her relationship with her children.

“I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is,” she told Australia’s Who magazine .

She also remarked on her children’s decision to pursue Scientology like their father. The actress left the church in the ’90s.

“They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she said, adding that Connor and Isabella are “adults.”

“And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”

She added that she believes her “job as a parent” is to “always offer unconditional love.”

Meanwhile, Tom also shares daughter Suri, 17, with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

Holmes, 44, and the “Jerry Maguire” star tied the knot in 2006 before splitting up in 2012.

Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes

In March, sources told Page Six that Tom and Suri have been estranged for some time.

The insider said Tom had not seen his youngest daughter in a very long time and that he was not a part of her life .

After their high-profile split in 2011, Tom admitted in transcripts from his 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media that he had not seen Suri for three months after he and Holmes called it quits.

Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman's Adult Children Isabella, Connor Have 'Become Scientology Royalty': 'They've Made Their Father Proud'

Isabella and Connor Cruise have long shied away from the spotlight that follows their superstar parents, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman . But behind the scenes, the secretive siblings have come into their own — especially in the Church of Scientology, which counts the Top Gun star as its most famous adherent.

“Like Tom, they’ve become Scientology royalty,” shares an insider, who says Connor, 26, has joined the upper ranks at the controversial religion’s headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., while Isabella, 28, has risen to the status of an auditor. “They’re VIPs, but they don’t like people making a huge deal about them.”

As for their personal lives, Isabella has found her niche in London, where she lives in a modest flat with her husband of six years, IT consultant Max Parker . “She designs quirky prints and tote bags, which she sells on her website,” the insider says. “But Bella’s all about self-expression, not making money.”

TOM CRUISE & NICOLE KIDMAN'S NOTORIOUSLY PRIVATE DAUGHTER ISABELLA SHARES RARE SELFIE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

For his part, Connor has been quietly dating fellow Scientologist Silvia Zanchi , 28, dishes the insider, who says the former DJ now has his eye on the restaurant business.

"Spinning records made him feel like part of the crowd without giving away too much of himself, but now his focus is on food,” notes the insider. “It’s no surprise he and Bella chose career paths that have nothing to do with Hollywood. They’ve always been so private.”

Connor was last seen in Clearwater on July 20, marking the first time he’d been photographed in public in two years. “Connor and Bella don’t seek out the limelight,” notes an insider.

In 2018, Kidman — who shares Sunday , 13, and Faith , 10, with husband Keith Urban — opened up about her relationship her eldest kids. “They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions,” Kidman told Who magazine, per Hollywood Reporter . “They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them."

Now, however, after a long estrangement from their mom, the insider says the kids are “back on good terms” with the Aussie actress and her husband. “But they will always be loyal to Tom,” adds the insider. “They’ve made their father proud!”

Katie Holmes's daughter Suri Cruise's major change to identity revealed

The teen is the daughter of katie holmes and tom cruise reportedly already estranged from the mission impossible star .

Hannah Hargrave

Suri Cruise is officially an adult after turning 18 on April 18 and she's making some big decisions amid her milestone.

The teen recently gave a subtle yet noticeable statement about her identity during a performance of Head Over Heels in New York.

At the time, she was supported by her mom,  Katie Holmes and grandparents, Martin and Kathleen, as she took on the role of Philoclea in the stage show.

But a look at the casting sheet reveals Suri is no longer going by her birth name of Suri Cruise.

Instead, she has adopted her mom's middle name and is listed as Suri Noelle.  The rising star's  birth certificate  named her simply Suri Cruise.

Instead, she has been raised by her mom in New York and they've developed an  incredibly close mother-daughter bond .

Speaking to InStyle in 2022, Katie talked about Suri and her strong personality when she said: "I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 per cent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it."

Suri appears to have inherited her parents' talents for performing and made her film debut when she sang the opening credits of Katie's film, Alone Together, when she was 15.

When asked why she chose Suri for the job, the actress and director sweetly told Yahoo! Entertainment: "I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her."

Katie then added: "She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it.

"I let her do her thing. That's the way I direct, in general."

Suri is not believed to have any sort of relationship with Tom's two other children, Bella and Connor, who he adopted with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, either.

However, the Top Gun actor featured in a rare moment with them at a hockey game recently. The joyful image resurfaced online after being posted by NFL star Derrick Brooks.

Inside Tom Cruise’s strained relationship with daughter Suri as she ditches his name

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes with Suri in 2006

As Suri Cruise reached her 18th birthday, rumours have swirled that she is no longer in contact with her famous dad Tom Cruise .

Suri celebrated her big day with her mum, Katie Holmes , spending the afternoon shopping in the New York sunshine.

Tom, 61, was nowhere to be seen and is currently filming for a new project in London with no word on whether he sent any birthday wishes.

Their relationship is said to be so strained that Suri has decided to ditch her last name, going instead by Suri Noelle — her mother’s middle name.

In 2016, a US outlet reported the teenager  has a huge rift with her father and the pair have not been in contact for years.

Tom, who has two more children, hasn’t been pictured with Suri for years but is believed to have been paying child support as per his and Katie’s divorce settlement.

Was Tom Cruise involved in Suri’s childhood?

In April 2006, Katie and Tom revealed to the world they had welcomed a baby girl and five months later they graced the cover of Vanity Fair with Suri in their arms.

They married in a Scientologist church months later and lots of pictures of Tom out and about carrying his newborn cropped up.

‘My whole life I always wanted to be a father,’ he gushed to the publication at the time, having adopted Connor and Isabella with Nicole Kidman previously.

‘I always said to myself that my children would be able to depend on me and I would always be there for them and love them — that I’d never make a promise to my kids that I couldn’t keep.’

Things seemed to be going swimmingly until six years later when the Dawson’s Creek star filed for divorce while Tom was away filming Oblivion.

When was Tom Cruise last seen with Suri?

Around the time of the divorce was the last time Tom was publicly pictured with Suri, taking her to Disney World in 2012.

At the time, a spokesperson for the Top Gun star said: ‘Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.’

The high profile split was said to be in part due to Katie’s fears around Scientology, after members of the group moved into their home.

Speaking to  the Daily Mail before his death, founder Ron Miscavige said the decision ‘didn’t sit so well with Katie, of course, and it hurt the marriage.’

When the divorce was settled, the Batman Begins star was granted sole custody plus $400,000 (£315,456) per year in child support until Suri turned 18.

It’s reported that Tom has not seen Suri in the 10 years since, with the pair being no contact for the last three years.

A source told Heat magazine: ‘Tom is feeling guilty about missing so much of her life, but insists that he hasn’t completely shut Suri out of his life, and does get updates from time to time.’

Has Katie Holmes said anything about Suri and Tom’s relationship?

Katie has not commented on Tom’s relationship with their daughter but has been incredibly open about how protective she feels over Suri’s privacy.

‘What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,’ she told Glamour last year.

‘I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.’

‘I love her so much,’ the mom-of-one told InStyle in 2020. ‘My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able.

‘And to know it. She came out very strong — she’s always been a strong personality.’
