Indian cricket in 2023: Full list of schedule, fixtures, matches, series and tournaments

The indian team will kickstart 2023 with a three-match t20i series against sri lanka. check out the full schedule of the men's team here..

Team India had a rather indifferent year in 2022; it began with India's Test series defeat against South Africa following which Virat Kohli stepped down as captain in the longest format, and while India's performances in the bilateral series remained strong as ever, they failed to translate that form in global events. At the 2022 T20 World Cup, the Rohit Sharma -led Indian team faced a 10-wicket loss in the semi-final of the marquee tournament to eventual champions England.

The year saw a number of debuts and multiple captains in the side across formats, owing to injuries and rest to senior players; and as the year ended, Hardik Pandya was given the leadership in T20Is for the series against Sri Lanka with all of the side's top-3 – KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli – missing from the squad for the shortest format.

India did end 2022 on a strong note at the World Test Championship as they solidified their second spot in the table with a 2-0 clean sweep series win against Bangladesh. But the new year brings new tests and the side will be aiming to keep its form intact for the upcoming challenges.

Team India is set to embark on a month-long trip to the West Indies to play two Tests, three ODIs and five T20I matches in July. The Test segment of the tour will launch India's campaign for the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle, while the ODIs will serve as a dress rehearsal for the 2023 Cricket World Cup at home later this year.

While confirming captain Rohit Sharma's availability, the two line-ups also feature a perfect blend of youth and experience, with several young players being considered favourites to make their international debuts in the Caribbean.

Here at OneCricket, we look at the entire schedule for the upcoming tour, alongside India's Test and ODI squads, as well as live streaming details.

Goodbye for now!

India have secured top spot in their Super Eight group and will now face England in Guyana on Thursday. (It’s worth keeping an eye on the weather forecast for that one, as it’s looking pretty wet.)

As for Australia, they will now have to nervously watch Afghanistan vs Bangladesh in Saint Vincent.

A win for Afghanistan takes them through to the semifinal stage, and they can even qualify by avoiding defeat by a margin of either approximately 20 runs or three overs.

There’s even a scenario where Bangladesh could qualify, but that would take quite the result.

Anyhow, we will have live coverage of that encounter from 20:30 GMT. You can also read all of the build-up here .

For now, from me and Kevin Hand, thanks for joining us for coverage of a brilliant match in Saint Lucia. Goodbye!

More from Rohit Sharma

India’s captain is back for another interview:

“It is quite satisfying, especially when you play like that,” said Sharma. “We know the opposition and the threat they bring with them. But I thought overall as a team we played well.

“Two hundred is a good score. But when you are playing on a ground like this when wind is such a big factor, then anything is possible.”

India will now face England in the semifinals in Guyana on Thursday, but the Indian skipper is confident his team will not change their approach:

“It will be nice for us [to play England],” said Sharma. “But nothing changes for us. We want to focus on what we want to do as a team.”

‘Come on Bangladesh!’

Australia’s skipper Mitchell Marsh has been speaking after the match:

“It’s disappointing,” he said. “We still technically have a chance to go through, but today India got the better of us.

“Over the course of 40 overs, there are a lot of small margins. But ultimately, India were the better team. Rohit Sharma got them off to an absolute flyer … we have got to give some credit to him.”

Marsh’s final message was one of support for Bangladesh, who can do Australia a favour by beating Afghanistan in the final match of the Super Eights:

“Come on Bangladesh!”

Rohit Sharma named player of the match

After scoring 92 off 41 balls, India’s captain is rightly awarded the player of the match award.

He’s been speaking about his innings: “That’s what I have to do at the top of the order, I need to try and see what the bowlers are trying to do and play accordingly.”

He also touched on the conditions at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium: “I think you have to factor in the breeze but you have to understand that the bowlers are smart and they won’t bowl into the breeze a lot, so you have to open up all sides of the field and not be one-dimensional.”

We’ll hear more from him shortly during the captain’s interviews.

Handshakes all round

There’s a lot of respect between these two sides given their recent history.

India had the upper hand today and can thank their captain – Rohit Sharma – for setting the tone.

His brilliant innings was the platform that this win was built on.

India win by 24 runs!

A single to finish for Australia as India wrap up a fine victory in Saint Lucia.

They have booked a semifinal spot against England.

As for Australia, well they now face a nervous wait to see if Bangladesh can pull off a win against Afghanistan.

Jadeja drops Cummins

Cummins went for another big one over mid-wicket, but it pulled up short and into the path of Jadeja.

But the chance is put down by the fielder!

It will make little difference for India.

19 overs. Australia 177-7

Australia require 29 off the final over to pull off a miracle victory.

Cummins smashes a six

The wind aids Cummins as he smashes a six over midwicket.

It’s too little too late, but Australia are almost at the 176 target which means Afghanistan have to beat Bangladesh.

18 overs. Australia 166-7

Bumrah heading back into the attack.

The match is gone for Australia, but they need to make that 176 target.

WICKET! David caught by Bumrah! Australia 166-7

David goes at a full toss but can only slice it behind to Bumrah, who takes a simple catch at short third.

David smashes a big six

That has gone very high! It looked like a mishit that could have been taken on the rope by Kohli at long off, but David got enough on it for the ball to sail towards the stand.

Cummins to the crease

The game is almost up for Australia, but there is now a game within a game for Mitchell Marsh’s men.

They need to score at least 176 for net run rate purposes – if they don’t then Afghanistan could go through, even if they lose to Bangladesh.

WICKET! Wade caught by Kuldeep Yadav! Australia 153-6

Another fine catch by an Indian fielder.

Arshdeep is back into the attack and Wade attempts to drive his first ball through the off side.

But he slices it away to Yadav at short third man who takes a brilliant diving catch. The umpires take it upstairs to check if the ball carried, but it’s all good.

17 overs. Australia 153-5

This game is slipping away from Australia after a fine over from Bumrah.

They need 53 from 18 balls.

WICKET! Head caught by Rohit! Australia 150-5

Bumrah has got the key wicket of Head!

The bowler pulls out a slower one, which Head steps outside the line to smack.

He can only toss it up into the air and finds Rohit for an easy catch at cover.

16 overs. Australia 148-4

A good over from Arshdeep, restricting Australia to seven runs.

The breeze is very strong now around the ground. It’s also become a little darker. Hopefully, no more showers are on the horizon.

Australia need over 13 an over

Arshdeep returns to the attack.

There’s some great fielding from Rohit to stop a near-certain boundary.

Head gets lucky next ball, swinging and missing at a ball thatducked past leg stump and ran away for four.

15 overs. Australia 141-1

The Aussies need 65 runs from 30 balls.

They need Head to stay in.

David comes to the crease

Australia are wobbling.

They were in a commanding position, but the last couple of wickets have changed the game.

Head is now their best hope, as he smashes another boundary off Patel. The opener has 72* off 36 balls.

WICKET! Stoinis caught out! Australia 135-4

A reverse sweep goes horribly wrong for Stoinis, with the ball looping up to Hardik Pandya at backward point.

This game is slipping away from Australia.

Marcus Stoinis c Hardik Pandya b Axar Patel 2

14 overs. Australia 135-3

Kuldeep will be very happy with that over. Just one boundary conceded and the key wicket of Maxwell.

Advantage India.

Stoinis heads out to the middle

Could that wicket be a turning point for India? They know the danger that Maxwell poses.

Head looks to shake it off and continue the chase, smashing a four through midwicket.

WICKET! Kuldeep bowls Maxwell! Australia 128-3

The googly gets Maxwell!

The Australian steps down the crease but completely misreads the spin and the ball smashes into the stumps.

A massive wicket for India.
