You must give at least 24 hours notice  to reschedule or receive a gift card. Please allow plenty of time to park and walk to our location on 11th & Howard: We can only wait 5 minutes after your reservation time, at which point we will consider the reservation a no show. Late arrival will cut into your reserved time.

This is a thirty minute tour of the newly redeveloped Gene Leahy Mall. This is our Holiday Lights Tour.

The Skyscraper Tour takes you up close to Omaha’s tallest buildings and The Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Park.

The Heartland Park ride is a thirty minute tour through Conagra’s campus, overlooking Heartland Of America Park.

Over the course of one year, Lamb and his family set out in the dead of night to install massive art projects in different locations throughout their municipality. The projects spoke of love, togetherness, understanding, and compassion.

These art works would appear for a week, then just as mysteriously… vanish.

What began as an experiment that faced resistance turned into a coming together of neighbors, strangers, and newfound friends.

The varied landscape of lush green meadows, mountain ranges and spectacular coastline certainly lead one to believe that this land is blessed and stories of fairy folk and leprechauns also reflect the belief that the land has supernatural guardians...

Our pilgrimage will take us back in time and into the realms of myth, legend and deep wisdom as we make a journey through some of the most magical counties of the Republic of Ireland , visiting sites revered as sacred by Pagans and Christians for thousands of years. This opens a doorway for each of us to discover forgotten aspects of our inner world…

The Journey

After collection from Dublin airport we start our journey based in Naas, County Kildare . We visit historic Kildare Cathedral and climb the mysterious round tower in its grounds, one of only two in Ireland that you can ascend. This town is about Brigid  and we'll visit her holy well and the Brigidine Sisters who maintain her perpetual flame.

Nearby we venture into the Wicklow Mountains to visit Glendalough , an atmospheric former monastic spiritual community established fifteen hundred years ago by St Kevin. Its historic buildings are set in a magical wooded valley of outstanding natural beauty containing two lakes with a wonderful tranquil energy that nourishes the soul.

Travelling across Southern Ireland we'll visit one of Ireland's most popular sites, the Rock of Cashel,  a medieval settlement p erched atop a massive limestone outcrop.  Moving on to County Limmerick  we'll strenthen our connection to the land at Grange Stone Circle , one of the most stunning stone circles in Ireland. Heading north we follow the Wild  Atlantic Way , along the spectacular west Irish coast and stop at the Cliffs of Moher to take a walk on the wild side...

~ Spirituality, history, mystery, legends, breathtaking scenery and lots of green... ~

On the west coast in County Sligo we go back in time to the Neolithic as we explore Ireland’s largest megalithic complex at Carrrowmore . Our guide will explain the original purpose of the monument builders, why they built them here and what beliefs these people had; food for thought as we make comparisons with our modern world. The isolated site of Carrowkeel has sat high in the spectacular Bricklieve Mountains for over five thousand years and looks over to the cairn of Queen Maebh . The thirty-minute trek to get there is well worth it! The panoramic views from the cairn on top are spectacular and we are able to crawl into the atmospheric chamber that has withstood the ravages of the Irish weather for five millennia, and go within! 

Saying goodbye to Sligo and the west coast we head east to connect with the energetic and spiritual centre of Eire at the Hill of Uisneach where our guide will bring the story of this land alive for us.  Moving on to the old town of Kells , famous for the Book of Kells you can go in search of its five High Crosses;  the locals are still looking for the fifth one! 

~ Mischievious Irish humour, traditional music, storytelling, and maybe a Guinness... ~

We are now in the eastern province of Leinster where we get a bird’s eye view of seventeen counties from the top of Loughcrew or Slieve na Caillighe- the Mountain of the Witch. This mystical site has been revered beyond memory and for good reason, magic and secrets reside here. What symbolism will you see in the stone carvings within the mighty cairn? 

The ancient seat of the high kings of Ireland at Tara is the traditional center of this province, located by a holy well . What secrets will it share with us? Energy currents empower each of the sacred centres on the hilltop.

Finally across the Boyne Valley we visit Newgrange,   Dowth and Knowth cairns. At Newgrange we go inside the cairn to witness a recreation of the winter solstice rising sun entering deep within the passage, and at Knowth we see some of the finest Neolithic stone carvings in Europe. 

Our magical Journey With Soul being complete we return to Dublin airport for flights home but the impact of your time in Ireland will stay with you forever!

Day 2 – Tues, Aug 6th

We start our journey with a pilgrimage to Kildare , the home of Brigid . She was both Pagan goddess and early Christian saint. We will visit St Brigid’s Well , a place of peace and tranquility that has been revered since beyond memory. The Brigidine Sisters , who maintain her perpetual flame, are a shining light for peace and have recently opened a new centre that we will visit when we go to meet them.

St Brigid established a monastery in 470AD, probably at the location of a former pagan sacred site. Kildare Cathedral developed from this monastery in the early 13th century and is unusual in Ireland for being Anglican. It contains a hidden ‘sheela-na-gig’, a pagan symbol of fertility and the feminine. Within the graveyard is a fine example of one of the surviving round towers of Ireland.

Day 3 – Weds, Aug 7th

The former monastic site of Glendalough meaning ‘Glen of the two lakes’ is set in a valley of great natural beauty and serenity surrounded by the Wicklow Mountains . The ‘monastic city’ was mostly built in the 12th century and comprises several churches, a spectacular round tower and an early Celtic cross. We explore the legends as well as the ruins and take time to walk in the natural woodland that was home to this spiritual retreat.

We lunch at Avoca Handweavers ’ award-winning café and take a tour of the oldest woollen mill in Ireland.

We travel through the stunning high moorland scenery of the Wicklow Gap to visit a stone circle within a sacred landscape. Castleruddery, a small stone circle, contains two large quartz blocks as portal stones that are highly energetic. 

Day 4 – Thurs, Aug 8th

We depart Naas for County Clare  and en-route we'll visit one of Ireland's most popular sites, the Rock of Cashel.  Perched atop a massive limestone outcrop the medieval settlement includes a round tower, an abbey, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral and residence of the kings of Munster (and a Sheila-na-gig!). 

After lunch in Cashel we then visit a hidden gem,  a stunning stone circle sitting in the landscape of a sacred lake, Lough Gur, County Limerick.

Grange Stone Circle , named after the  Sun Goddess Grainne , will evoke myth and mystery while stirring our souls.  

We'll stop for lunch at a charming café, then head to our hotel in  Ennis, County Clare  for one night.

Day 5 – Fri, Aug 9th

This morning we’ll head up the coastal road, on the Wild Atlantic Way , where we'll find the  Cliffs of Moher  in County Clare. We'll walk along the cliffs and witness Ireland's most breath-taking and dramatic coastline. These cliffs tell the story of over 320 million years of greeting the Atlantic Ocean. After our exhilarating visit to the cliffs, we’ll follow the Atlantic Way as we make our way north to  Sligo , our base for two nights. 

​ There are many good shops and riverside cafes and restaurants in Sligo situated close by our city centre hotel. You can nearly always find traditional music happening somewhere in town!

Day 6 – Sat, Aug 10th

Carrowmore is the largest megalithic complex in Ireland covering more than 1 ½ square miles. There are remains of thirty passage cairns , together forming an oval shape, many of which have a dolmen at their centre. The sacred mountain of Knocknarea , with Maebh’s Cairn on top, is visible to the northwest. We will have a guided tour from one of the local guides on site.

Lunch (not included) and free time in Sligo before our afternoon visit.

Carrowkeel   is set high in the rugged Bricklieve Mountains and offers sensational views of the surrounding landscape. It is wild and spectacular here and it allows us to easily imagine ourselves in Neolithic times when the forces and places of Nature were revered as part of the locals' worldview and spirituality; as we reach the top we are in another world. There are fourteen Neolithic cairns , two of which have three-sided recesses forming a cruciform chamber that we can enter. Cairn G has a light-box above the entrance, similar to the one at Newgrange, and this admits the light of the setting sun around midsummer and the setting moon around midwinter. 

We will have the whole day to explore these sacred landscapes that have been revered for over 5,000 years.  

Day 7 – Sun, Aug 11th

Today we travel to our fourth and final hotel base in Kells (3 ½ hrs) for 3 nights.

En route we'll have a guided visit to the geographic and energetic centre of Ireland at the Hill of Uisneach where we'll see the Stone of Divisions (the Catstone) from where Ireland was divided into provinces.

When we arrive in Kells you will have some free time to explore the town with its five High Crosses and other historic sites.

Day 8 –Mon, Aug 12th

Anthony Murphy, author of  'Newgrange: Monument to Immortality ' and other books on Megalithic Ireland  will be our expert Irish guide for these two days to share his wisdom with us as we experience the sacred sites of this remarkable region.

Today we visit the  Bru na Boinne  visitor centre,  Newgrange  and  Knowth . 

The Bru na Boinne monuments are designated as a World Heritage Site. We will get to enter down the passage into the heart of Newgrange cairn to experience a recreation of the winter solstice rising sun penetrating deep into the central chamber.   Knowth is a complex of cairns that has the finest Neolithic stone carvings in Europe decorating most of the kerbstones around the base of the main cairn; this feels like a real world Hobbitland! 

We'll also have a private visit at the atmospheric cairn of Fourknocks  where we'll have a shamanic experience.

Day 9 – Tues, Aug 13th

This morning our climb up to the hilltop cairns of Loughcrew is rewarded with panoramic views of seventeen counties (or so we’re told!). The old name for Loughcrew was Slieve na Caillighe , Gaelic for Mountain of the Witch . Cairn T that has elaborately carved and decorated stones in its inner recesses and the Hag’s Chair set into the northern side of the kerb. We’ll take time to personally experience the energies of the different cairns that each have solar alignments on various Celtic Festivals.

We have a relaxed lunch at Tara before visiting the royal centre of the ancient capital of Leinster and the place where the king undertook the ‘ Ban Fheis ’ or sacred marriage to the goddess in order to secure fertility and wellbeing for the land and his people. Its importance grew until the king of Tara was also seen as the High King of all Ireland , but only after undertaking tests to prove his rightfulness to be king.

We will view an excellent audio-visual show before exploring the complex of sites at Tara including Grainne’s (Sun Goddess) Mound, the Mound of the Hostages, the Stone of Destiny and Teach Cormaic .

The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey is also collecting toys for donation to benefit Toys for Tots. Bringing a toy is optional, but it would help lift Christmas Spirit! All toys should be new, unwrapped, and sealed in their original packaging. If you’d prefer to make a donation, you’ll be given a donate option during your ticket purchase.

This year you can also stroll through our brand-new outdoor Christmas Village where you can sweeten the season with holiday treats and gifts! Plus, lace up your skates and take a spin on our open-air ice rink. Don’t miss the chance to start a new, fun-filled holiday tradition with your family and friends!

Is the experience the same as last year? -->

Our Holiday Journey is back – and this time you can get out of your car to enjoy it! While Scout Elf Tiny Tinkerman will be at it again this year, guests will walk and trolley through the experience and enjoy additional scenic worlds and performances. Guests will also be able to enjoy a brand-new outdoor Christmas Village and ice-skating rink.

Will Santa be there? -->

The Scout Elves have reported that Santa and his sleigh are somewhere at the Fairplex! It’s up to humans to generate Christmas Spirit and help him find his magical sleigh bells so he can appear and thank you personally for helping him make it back home.

How long is the experience? -->

The timed-entry Magical Holiday Journey is approximately 45 minutes. Please come early with your Christmas Spirit and stay late to enjoy the Christmas Village, go ice skating and enjoy the holiday merriment.

What ages is the event appropriate for? -->

The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey is appropriate for ALL ages.

Does it hurt to shrink down to elf size? -->

Does it hurt when snow falls on your nose? Absolutely not!

Will I return to human size before the journey’s end? -->

As long as Santa receives enough Christmas Spirit to fly again, of course!

Is photography allowed? -->

Yes, personal photography is allowed and there will be many elf-tacular photo moments worth documenting. Feel free to dress festively! There can never be too much Christmas Spirit!

Faith, Hope, and Love.

Will there be strobe lights? -->

There will be moments of flashing and moving lights. Please plan to take precautions if this might cause you discomfort or disorientation.

Will there be food and beverages available to purchase? -->

Yes! Our Christmas Village will have snacks, drinks, food trucks, and all the hot chocolate you could ever want!

Am I allowed to bring my own food? -->

No, you may not bring outside food to the event.

No. The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey is fun for everyone, but The Elf on the Shelf fans might just recognize some familiar Elf faces, so keep your eyes peeled!

Do I need to arrive before the start of my scheduled session? -->

We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of your session. If you arrive early, you can wait in our festive outdoor Christmas Village with a mug of hot cocoa.

At the start of your time slot, you can join the line to enter the Magical Holiday Journey.

What happens if I don’t show up at my designated time? -->

We will do our best to accommodate you if you show up outside of your designated window, but we cannot guarantee it.

What should I bring with me? -->

Festive attire, a mask, and Christmas Spirit!

I purchased an item with my ticket. How will I receive it? -->

If you purchased the light up necklace with your ticket, our front of house Santa’s Helpers will give you the necklace when they scan your ticket. If you purchased the Scout Elf Tiny Tinkerman with your ticket, our front of house Santa’s Helpers will give you a Scout Elf Tiny Tinkerman card to present at the merchandise area to collect your Scout Elf Tiny Tinkerman.

Can I bring my pet? -->

We love pets, including our beloved Elf Pets, but for this experience they need to remain at home — with the exception of registered service animals.

What happens if it rains? -->

The experience happens rain or shine, but in the event of weather please bring an umbrella. Our magical trollies are covered!

Will there be bathrooms on site? -->

Restrooms will be available for use at the start and at the end of the experience. Please be aware that you must wear a mask in order to use the restrooms. Our restrooms will be cleaned on a continual basis and will strictly adhere to health and safety recommendations to keep you safe.

Can I use a stroller during the experience? -->

Strollers are allowed to be used during the walking section of the experience. Children must be removed from his or her stroller while riding on the trolley. Strollers must also be folded up while on the trolley, stored either in the space next to your family or in a designated area of the trolley. Strollers larger than 31”x52” (79x132cm) and wagons are not permitted. Stroller wagons are also not permitted. Do not leave personal belongings in an unattended stroller.

Can I buy tickets on-site at the Fairplex? -->

We recommend buying tickets in advance due to the event’s limited capacity. If you come to the event without a pre-purchased order, we may not be able to accommodate you.  Please note that we only accept credit cards for tickets on site.  We do not accept cash.

What are the different ticket options? -->

Individual tickets range from $19.95 to $49.95. Prices range according to show dates and all dates offer a child and adult price.Children aged 2 and under do not need a ticket.

Tickets are sold for designated time slots every 15 minutes, which indicate when you can enter the walking and trolley pathways. Ticket buyers can arrive early or stay late to enjoy the Christmas Village and ice-skating rink (ice skating rink is an extra charge).

We also offer a VIP upgrade option (more details below).

Does every individual need a ticket? -->

Yes, everyone 3 and over needs a ticket to enter.

What is your refund/exchange policy? -->

Tickets are non-refundable. We will make best efforts to accommodate exchanges in certain circumstances, but only at times when inventory allows.

Do I need to print my ticket? -->

We recommend printing your tickets. However, we are also able to scan your tickets from your smartphone.

When do tickets go on sale? -->

Tickets on sale Tuesday, September 21 st .

VIP UPGRADE

What’s included in a vip upgrade -->.

A VIP upgrade/pass includes: ONE photo with Santa for your group (max up to 8 guests total). ONE Santa photo includes a print-out in ONE commemorative frame as well as ONE digital copy. Dedicated entry lane into the experience (ONE car total) ONE VIP parking spot that is close to the entrance (it does not cover the cost of parking, it is $15, which is paid to the Fairplex) If you are arriving in multiple cars, only ONE car be given the VIP pass to park in the ONE VIP spot. Other cars can park in general parking and meet up at the front gate to go through the VIP check-in together. If every car wants to park in VIP they will all need to buy their own separate VIP upgrade to show the parking attendants. ONE free hot chocolate for each person in your group (max up to 8 guests total) Please note, the upgrade DOES NOT admit any guests, it upgrades the tickets you have purchased for your group (max per group is 8 guests) Everyone in your group will still need an Adult/Child ticket in addition to the one VIP upgrade/pass.

No. Everyone in your group needs a general admission Adult or Child ticket and then add 1 VIP pass that will apply to everyone in your group.

ICE SKATING

Is ice skating included in the price of admission what does it cost -->.

Ice skating is not included in the price of admission, but can be purchased on-site.

Entrance to the rink is $13 for adults and $8 for toddlers. Skate rental is an additional $7.

What are the hours of the ice rink? -->

The ice rink opens at 5:00 PM, and closes at 9:45 PM.

What happens in case of inclement weather? -->

In the case of rainy conditions, the rink may be closed for safety. The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey will go on rain or shine, but please check on-site signage for rink closure information.

Can I bring my own skates? -->

Yes you can, however there is still an admission charge to ice skate.

Does the ice rink take credit cards? -->

Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discovery and AMEX.

Do you have skates in all sizes? -->

Yes! We have over 350 pairs of ice skates in all sizes (9j-12j, 1-15 adult; adult sizes run small), including some with double-blades for younger children to learn on.

How long can I skate for? -->

Tickets are purchased for a specific skate session. Each session is for 45 minutes.

How is the Ice Rink Resurfaced? -->

The ice is resurfaced every 45 minutes with a Zamboni Model 100.

Are there any requirements to be able to ice skate? -->

Yes. Everyone is required to acknowledge and agree to the waiver language on the admission sticker before entering the rink area.

Can children skate alone? -->

Yes, but adults must sign the waiver for each child.

There is a mention of a toy drive as part of the experience. Do I need to bring a toy? -->

Bringing a toy is optional, but if you do bring a toy, it would certainly help build more Christmas Spirit! If you prefer to make a monetary donation in lieu of bringing a toy, there is an option during ticket purchase to make a donation. The funds will benefit our charity partner Toys for Tots.

Where do the toys go? -->

The toys will be donated to Toys for Tots.

Do toys need to be wrapped? -->

All toys will need to be sealed in their original packaging, but they should not be gift-wrapped.

Is The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey COVID-safe? -->

Yes. We put the safety of our staff and guests first. We have designed the event to accommodate measures that mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19 and we comply with all local requirements. The majority of the experience takes place outdoors on foot and in our open-air trollies. Masks are required for a short indoor section and while riding on the trolley.

Are masks required? -->

Masks are required for all indoor areas, including bathrooms and a brief indoor section of the experience. Masks are also required on the trolley portion of the experience.

How late are you open? -->

We are open until 10pm, but access to the event closes at 8:45pm.

In another, schoolchildren are made to wear dunce caps, threatened by a teacher, and shut into a cage at the back of a classroom. Men engage in fist and sword fights, where one dies but is brought back to life, and a man gets hit over the head with a pan. A woman directs her servants to prepare a child for her to eat for dinner. A man threatens to conduct experiments on kids and tries to electrocute a small boy, getting electrocuted himself. A young girl and a grown man engage in a boxing match where they both get thrown around, as does another man who jumps in to help.

Parents need to know that the Ukrainian/Belgian film A Magical Journey is a child-centric fantasy adventure where kids face a variety of threats. Among them, getting chased, locked up, nearly poisoned, threatened with electrocution, mocked, almost cooked for dinner, thrown to the ground, and chased by adults. Other men are beaten up, killed then brought back to life, hit over the head, thrown around, electrocuted, taken hostage at gun point, and tied up. A young girl watches how two members of her family die in a fire that was intentionally set by another relative. All of this is played for fantasy, as if inside different movies, but the dangers are real to the characters. Language includes "damn," "hell," "ass," "idiot." There's occasional cigarette smoking and one scene where a group of men appear to be drunk. A young girl is told to kiss a frog to see if he turns into a prince. It’s simply not giving, i wanted to fall asleep but couldn’t cause I was crying at the fact of it being so bad.

What's the story.

A MAGICAL JOURNEY sees 11-year-old Polina (Polina Pechenenko) escape her abusive home, where she lives with an aunt and grown male cousin, to try to find out what happened to her missing parents. She knows the mystery involves a movie studio, and once there, a man ( Jean Reno ) appears to her in a hologram and tells her she must piece together the sections of a family photo in order to solve the mystery before midnight, when she turns 12. Her search for the missing pieces of the photo takes her to different stages in the studio, each of which sends her into a different setting, or movies starring a shared cast of actors. She must escape a variety of threatening situations on the various sets, and in between she's still being chased by her cousin. Some of the actors help her and others seem intent on hurting her or the new friends she's made.

Is It Any Good?

There's an adage in storytelling that encourages writers to "show, don't tell"; this film could have benefited from that advice. Instead, A Magical Journey relies heavily on a character's recollection of events to compensate for a disjointed storyline that doesn't add up to much of anything. An oddball collection of characters moves from disconnected setting to setting, or more accurately, from soundstage to soundstage of a magical movie studio, as a young girl tries to solve a mystery by midnight.

The adventure leaves nothing for viewers to grab onto -- no fully-developed characters, no hoped-for outcome. Other aspects add to the weirdness, including some poorly-dubbed actors in the English version and dismal attempts at humor (?) often involving kids getting hurt. A final fight scene made to look like an early-era video game is vexing. At The Depot

The Magical Christmas Journey™ to the North Pole begins at the Verde Canyon Railroad depot in Clarkdale. The spirit of Christmas is aglow and visible from afar, beckoning all to experience the dream. Seasonal treats and libation may be purchased and enjoyed while perusing the depot grounds rich with festive lighting and holiday décor. Luminarias light the Southwestern-style depot roofline and giant ornaments adorn the outdoor pergolas dripping with icicle lights. Santa’s elves entertain and tell the tale of the beautiful Princess Noel and Flurry the Christmas Eagle while songs of the season fill the air.

Flurry the Bald Eagle and Princess Noel

Flurry, a real live bald eagle, is at the depot to greet children and give “wing-flapping” lessons prior to entering the miniature village. Princess Noel will be greeting children, signing the Magical Christmas Journey™ book and joining Flurry for unforgettable family photography.

Bird’s-Eye Village

At the depot there will be eagle wings for children to wear while soaring through a miniature village featuring 10 tiny houses on a town square. The kids are able to experience what Flurry, our live bald eagle, sees when in flight. This unique “flight” is inspired by Verde Canyon Railroad’s relationship with Liberty Wildlife of Arizona who provides an educational bald eagle that visits Verde Canyon Railroad regularly. Adults are not to be left out, as the tiny town is entertainment for all ages.

During the Magical Ride

Verde Canyon Railroad’s passenger coaches and open-air viewing cars are cheerfully ornamented inside and outside. Elves entertain onboard and car attendants join in the fun with whacky seasonal outfits while serving seasonal drink specialties. The trip to the North Pole is a one-hour round-trip into the dark of night before the train emerges onto “Santa’s private tracks” after passing through the illuminated mystical tunnel. Canyon critters light the way to the North Pole along the tracks to Santa’s Village.

Remember that Verde Canyon Railroad is the only train in North America that offers inside and outside seating for the price of one ticket.

Tickets, and seating, are done differently for The Magical Christmas Journey™, compared to the daily scenic train rides.

At the North Pole

The train is met by Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and goofy elves at the North Pole, an exquisite collection of life-size buildings embellished in seasonal color and splendor. Passengers soak in the Christmas spirit aboard the train as it slowly passes by Santa’s Workshop, Mrs. Claus’ Bakery, the Reindeer Flight School and the Ugly Sweater Factory, to name a few, before Santa hops onboard the train for the return trip Clarkdale.

The man in the big red suit will interact with all of the children and gift each with a little memento signifying their North Pole Canyon Adventure aboard The Magical Christmas Journey™.

  The lead-up to riding the Verde Canyon Railroad on the Magical Christmas Journey™ to the North Pole is as much fun for the kids as the ride. When you purchase your train tickets, have your children join the  Magical Journey VIP Kids’ Club™ for an additional $25.00 per child and get excited about their journey long before they actually meet Princess Noel and Flurry the Bald Eagle, at the depot, before starting their journey to the North Pole.

The holiday fun begins long before the train’s departure and it has a wonderful ending with santa spending time with each child onboard the train. , what arrives through the mail.
