Day 4 Newport, RI

Known as the ‘Queen of Summer Resorts’, Newport was home to many of America’s wealthiest Gilded Age tycoons including the Astors, Belmonts and Vanderbilts. Today, the traveler can tour these opulent mansions, carefully restored by the Newport Preservation Society. Walking tours of Newport showcase a fine collection of pre-Revolutionary War buildings in the Colonial Downtown section, sophisticated boutiques and excellent restaurants.

Day 5 Boston, MA

Home to more colleges and universities than any other city in the United States, Boston has been the intellectual capital of America for more than 350 years. Step into the past along Boston’s Freedom Trail, leading you through some of the most interesting chapters in U.S. history: the site of the Boston Massacre, the Old South Meeting House, Faneuil Hall, and Beacon Hill. You will discover 16 of America’s major colonial and revolutionary sites in all, and all within a 1.5-mile walk.

Day 6 Bar Harbor, ME

Tall ships unfurl their sails and make for the open sea, while harbor seals, porpoises and whales play in the wide blue bay. From the mid-1800s until the great fire of 1947, Bar Harbor was a haven for wealthy summer visitors who built shingled, 60-room “summer cottages” on rocky promontories and islands. Today, the main interest is Acadia National Park, a magnificent landscape of towering coastal mountains and coves, lakes, hundreds of streams and ponds, and Somes Sound, a splendid glacial-carved fjord.

Day 7 Halifax, NS

Welcoming travelers to an innovative and historic cityscape, Nova Scotia’s Halifax offers excellent dining and friendly maritime smiles. Tour Halifax Citadel or take a stroll along the historic waterfront or through the delightful Public Gardens, the oldest Victorian gardens in Canada. Lobster and seafood are local specialties and always tempting to the taste-buds.. The Micmac Indians, called the area ‘Chebuctook’, meaning Great Long Harbor and the city’s ideal location on one of the largest natural harbors in the world made it a strategic asset for convoys in both world wars. Scenic Dartmouth lies on the opposite shore and can be visited by crossing on the oldest saltwater ferry in Canada.

Day 8 At Sea

Day 9 charlottetown, pei.

Charming Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, is regarded as the ‘Birthplace of Canada’. In 1864, delegates gathered here to establish a new nation, resulting in the 1867 founding of the Dominion of Canada. Tour the Province House National Historic Site and Founders’ Hall, old mansions and museums along with scenic parks and gardens. Outside of town, discover awe-inspiring Fundy Bay, storybook fishing villages and the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of the Green Gables.

Day 10 Gaspe, QC

Upon arriving, guests quickly understand why National Geographic magazine rates this town in the Top 50 must-see places in the world. Along the Upper Saint Lawrence River, Gaspé provides some of the oldest and most intriguing attractions. Its unique geography consists of lush arboreal forests, 350-million-year-old mountains and hundreds of crystal rivers that teem with salmon and trout. Grand vistas of land and sea are abundant, making binoculars essential to glean spectacular looks at unspoiled habitats. The mixture of French history with so many other diverse cultural elements also highlights the distinct Gaspésien community.

Day 11 Saguenay, QC

Surrounded by verdant mountains and high plateaus, Saguenay with its breathtaking scenery, is Canada’s only navigable fjord, and its rich eco-system draws pods of visiting whales, seals and seabirds. Nestled among the flowering hills discover some of the most picturesque villages in Québec. Saquenay is the travelers portal to a host of activities including: kayaking, power boating, whale watching and hiking amid simply gorgeous surroundings.

Day 12 Quebec City, QC

Prepare to be thoroughly charmed by this great historic city. The only walled metropolis in North America provides a taste of authentic, profoundly French culture. Stroll the cool cobbled streets of Basse-Ville with its outstanding 17th- and 18th-century architecture, graceful parks and delightful sidewalk cafés. Head over to the Rue du Trésor where many local artists display and sell their artwork. Discover Place Royale, a beautifully restored market square and the green-turreted castle of Château Frontenac, Québec’s most celebrated landmark. Stop for spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River, Île d’Orléans and the Laurentian Mountains at Dufferin Terrace.

This was to be a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. It was memorable for the range of new experiences, the lovely places we stayed, your kind gift of the Boston excursions card and the matchless hospitality of the Liberty Inn at Yarmouth

I just wanted to thank you once again for all the planning, booking and organising that you did on our behalf. Each of the hotels were great and the hotel in Niagara had the best view of any hotel I’ve stayed in around the world

The Autumn colours were magnificent and we really enjoyed seeing the Pumpkin Festival celebrations in New England and then when we crossed the border, the Farmers markets and preparations for Thanksgiving in Canada.

The 10 Best Cruise Lines for Adults, According to a Kid-Free Cruiser

A kids-free zone.

Author image: about face matte fluid eye paint review chelsea candelario

Even though I’ve noticed a trend in the cruise industry leaning towards more family-friendly fleets (I’m looking at you, Royal Caribbean ), a lot of us still see the perks of a kid-free vacation. And while many (if not all) cruises have dedicated spaces for adults on board, sometimes you don’t want to be pigeon-holed into one area for the entirety of your trip in order to get some peace and quiet. So, I went on the hunt to find the best cruise lines for adults, so you can relax and have fun with the 21-and-over crowd.

The Best Cruises for Adults at a Glance

Oceania cruises, how i chose the best cruise lines for adults.

I’ve been on seven cruises since 2018, including Princess, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. I have firsthand experience on each cruise line’s amenities, food, entertainment and more. I also spent time researching all the cruise lines on this list (especially the ones I’ve never been on) and did a deep dive to find out key destinations, ship information and star perks aboard their vessels. I even took it a step further and checked out reviews straight from the people—i.e., on places like Reddit, TikTok and travel blogs.

1. Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages came on the scene in 2021 and promised to create a cruise line for adults. In four years, it launched three ships: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady and gave guests full access to all its amenities. Per their website, the cruise line strives to let passengers try out over 20 eateries, participate in unlimited group fitness classes, enjoy free Wi-Fi and check live entertainment at an affordable price.

Speaking of entertainment, the cruise line takes it up a notch with their theme nights like PJ Party (aka a cool pajama party) and We Fancy (dress code: elegant), along with epic dance parties like Heartbeat inspired by Brooklyn’s own House of Yes , performances like Duel Reality which tells a modern interpretation of Romeo & Juliet and immersive experiences to get you involved in the show. Let’s not forget other fun activities to surely make a vacation a memorable one: ala private karaoke booths, casinos and a multi-story nightclub.

  • Best for:  night owls
  • Minimum Age:  18+
  • Popular Destinations:  Puerto Plata, Santorini, Ibiza, Costa Maya, Amsterdam

Viking Cruises

If you’re searching for a cruise line for adults, Viking should be on the top of your list. The cruise line is best known for their ocean, river and expedition cruises for adults 18 and over. According to  their website , “All guests must be 18 years old on or before the day they are scheduled to embark on their cruise; we do not maintain facilities or services on board for younger individuals.” Since 2000, Viking has always made it their mission to target older travelers, more specifically those over 55 to join their ships, so don’t expect to see any kiddos running around.

Viking currently has over 60 ships in their fleet that travel all around the world. You can take an iconic Western Mediterranean trip (Barcelona to Rome), a Grand  European  tour (Budapest to Amsterdam) or a Great Lakes voyage (Toronto to Minnesota). While many of the ships feature pools, restaurants, a library room and theater, most travelers go for the thrilling excursions and even participate in lectures specifically found on the expedition ships (Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris) that are great for the curious scientist or animal lover.

  • Best for:  adventure seekers
  • Popular Destinations:  Rome, Athens, Sydney, Vancouver, Shanghai
  • Amenities:  restaurants, fitness center, hair salon, shops, bars, spa, pools
  • Price Range:  $1,999 to $79,995 per person

best cruise lines for adults a photo of inside of seabourn ship pool area

3. Seabourn

This luxurious cruise line provides an intimate and personalized experience that will make you feel like you’re vacationing on a yacht. Per their website, their ships can carry between 264 and 600 guests at time (compared to Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas can hold over 5,000 passengers). As a result, the bookings are extremely popular and limited. (In fact, it appears that most of their summer dates are already sold out.) While the minimum age is 6 years old, the target audience is around 35 and older, according to  Travel Weekly.  So, whether you’re looking for a traditional cruise or an expedition, Seabourn offers trips all around the world for seven to 30 days at sea—which gives you ample time to enjoy a relaxing massage at their spa, try to win big at the casino or have a dip in the pool. All of their ships also include live entertainment, fine dining and an all-inclusive package.

  • Best for:  smaller crowds
  • Minimum Age:  6+
  • Popular Destinations:  Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Monte Carlo, Alaska
  • Amenities:  restaurants, fitness center, hair salon, shops, bars, spa, pools, casino
  • Price Range:  $7,436 to $10,299 per person

best cruise lines for adults a photo of inside of celebrity ship pool deck

4. Celebrity

While Celebrity allows travelers of all ages to board their ships, travel site  Sophisticated Travel  found that most passengers are between their 40s and 50s. As  one redditor commented , “[I] have cruised Celebrity a few times. They have a few amenities for kids, so there are [a] few kids. [However] if [there] were any kids they were not really noticeable. In our experience no waterslides/waterparks equal very few kids on board.” The cruise line has been around since the ‘90s and currently has 16 ships in its fleet, traveling to port stops  like  Key West, Florida  to Athens,  Greece . The best part is you can schedule a weekend getaway or a long holiday for the entire season.

The cruise line prides itself on its extensive food and beverage options, using world-renowned chef dishes in their specialty restaurants and a wide selection of cocktails at your disposal. Plus, fun entertainment and  nightlife events  exclusively for adults like the Undercover, which is an exhibition inspired by the 1920s, and the Jazz Joint that turns the ship’s signature club into a speakeasy. Plus, most ships feature the Solarium, a space only for adults to lounge around and explore the inside pool minus kids.

  • Best for:  entertainment
  • Minimum Age:  6 months
  • Popular Destinations:  Bahamas, Barcelona, Vancouver, Florence, St. Kitts & Nevis
  • Amenities:  globally inspired cuisines, fitness center, shops, bars, spa, pools, casino
  • Price Range:  $237 to $17,535 per person

best cruise lines for adults a photo of oceania cruise ship

5. Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises only has six ships, but it’s been around since the early aughts. They sail around the world with destinations to New Zealand, Asia, Africa and 130 other locations. In fact, Oceania offers some of the longest stays on this list. Sure, you can cruise for a weekend or seven days, but the cruise line also offers long durations like a 200 days vacation—departing from Miami, Florida and visiting Caribbean islands (St. Maarten, Barbados) and parts of Brazil before arriving to New York. The cruise line is also known for its culinary experiences and enrichment programs. They have a dedicated library room so you can read comfortably as you sail, as well as guest lectures to learn more about the destinations you’re visiting and classes to learn how the meals are prepared.

And if you’re wondering if the cruise line is ‘adult-enough,’  one Tripadvisor commenter  believes it a huge hit for the 50+ crowd: “I would not recommend it unless it’s a port intensive trip. There are no activities for kids. The average age on board is 60s and above. They have trivia, bingo [and] needlepoint (cooking classes and art classes are hard to get). The entertainment is usually a string quartet and maybe a magician if you’re lucky. I wouldn’t take my adult children in their 30s for fear of their boredom. I would try Disney or Celebrity.”

  • Best for:  world travelers
  • Popular Destinations:  Lisbon, Iceland, Tokyo, Montreal, New York
  • Amenities:  globally inspired cuisines, fitness center, bars, spa, pools
  • Price Range:  $799 to $62,999 per person

best cruise lines for adults norweigan cruise

6. Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian cruise line.

I’ve personally been on three Norwegian cruises ( twice on Prima ) and found very few children on board. While there are many thrill-seeking amenities fit for the whole family, there are plenty of ways to stray away from the younger folks. I found Norwegian Prima’s guests skew a bit older based on their upscale aesthetic around the ship that looks straight out of the MOMA museum. I appreciate Norwegian for its freestyle experience, with specialty and complimentary dining options that provide items outside of your usual pizza and hot dog joint.

The Norwegian Prima is also home to one of largest spas I’ve ever seen at sea. There are two gigantic pools, a few sauna rooms and a large lounge area overlooking the ocean. I spent hours in there just taking in the quiet and calming ambience. Plus, the live productions of  Summer: The Donna Summer Musical  and tribute shows that honor the like of Michael Jackson or Adele are just some of the ways they cater towards millennials, Gen Xers and boomers. Most ships even have dedicated pubs and intimate bars that play classic music from the 60s to early ‘00s, too.

  • Best for:  freestyle dining
  • Popular Destinations:  Alaska, Hawaii, Mykonos, Florence, Iceland
  • Amenities:  restaurants, fitness center, bars, spa, pools, activities
  • Price Range:  $79 to $10,799 per person

Best Entertainment

7. holland america line, holland america line.

A cruise line owned by Carnival (a popular family-friend cruise company), Holland America Line is possibly the oldest cruise line of the bunch. It dates back to 1873 and was used as cargo and transportation service. Today, the ships are used for leisure as they travel all around the world, docking in the likes of Hawaii and Japan. You can spend a day—or 53 days—sailing with each ship. According to  Reddit , cruisers have seen families and smaller children, but found the majority of guests were over 40.

A standout feature of their newer ships is the entertainment on board. If you’re a music lover, ships like the Rotterdam and Koningsdam have the B.B King’s Blues Club and Rolling Stone Lounge that cater to playing the classic hits. Holland America Line also partnered with the Professional Pickleball Association to provide state of the art pickleball courts with impeccable views, as well as a casino and a spa, so every guest can find an activity they can enjoy on vacation.

  • Best for:  music lovers
  • Popular Destinations:  Montreal, Rome, Alaska, The Netherlands, Seattle
  • Amenities:  restaurants, fitness center, bars, spa, pools, activities, casino
  • Price Range:  $94 to $27,399 per person

The fleet reaches about 900 destinations, including Galápagos Island, French Polynesia and Antarctica. The cruise line also offers complimentary beverages and fine dining. best cruise lines for adults a photo inside of princess cruise pool deck

Editor's Pick

10. princess cruises, princess cruises.

I recently traveled with Princess Cruises, and I highly recommend it for adults who aren’t traveling with kids in mind. As mentioned, I’ve been on seven cruises, and this by far has been the least family-friendly cruise line—in a good way! Although there were some kids and teens, the ship was made of mostly older travelers. I was actually surprised by how much it catered to adults over kids. It didn’t have many thrilling amenities like waterslides or an expansive basketball court that usually draw the younger crowds, but there were plenty of things that made the ship thrilling and exciting for mature folks.

For instance, Spellbound, an interactive cocktail experience hat features magicians, an exclusive bar and experimental dishes. There’s also Love by Britto, a dining experience which is heart-themed (down to the utensils) and sets a romantic vibe for couples. Additionally, all Princess ships have many ways to unwind and have fun that cater toward adults, like including their spa, theaters and pool decks. In fact, their latest ship, the Sun Princess, also has the Sanctuary, a pool area set apart from the rest of the ship that’s strictly for adults, so you can lounge under the sun all day without interruption.

  • Best for:  immersive dining
  • Popular Destinations:  Sydney, Vancouver, San Juan, London, Barcelona
  • Price Range:  $127 to $23,398 per person

Looking forward to reading your post on the trip. We haven't sailed on Regent to NE Canada. Hope it is wonderful Enjoy the trip!

Travelcat2

Hoping that the ship gets a thorough cleaning so that there won't be a risk of a code red on every cruise. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to board a ship that was already in a code red situation and the last I heard, if 4 more passengers had become ill, there would have been another code red. While I understand that passengers bring this onboard and Regent does everything within its power to prevent the illnesses from spreading, it is not fun to be on a cruise when the ship is code red and/or there is a fear of getting ill.

We are paying particular attention to this because the Mariner was in code red when we disembarked September 9th (my DH was sick for a week and a half after disembarkation) and we will be boarding the Mariner again in less than two months, Maybe people in Asian countries know what they are doing when they walk around with masks on their faces.

Hoping that the next segment is non-eventful ......... no sickness and no hurricanes!

Enjoy the next part of your cruise. I think the weather could be quite different as i believe Eastern Canada is enjoying a bit of a heat wave right now. Not sure how it is affecting the fall colors but at least it seems you might have better weather.

Looking forward to your posts.

Heat wave is almost over, and I believe it's already over in eastern Canada. Halifax is mid-teens celsius today, but not much rain in the forecast from Friday to Tuesday.

Around here (Ontario), the leaves are turning early because of all the rain we got this summer. Not sure how the intense heat will affect this, although it's not been so intense to the east, just unseasonably warm.

In reality, nobody can actually tie how the Noro gets on a ship. It could be passengers, crew, onboard hygiene issues, food, etc. While passengers make up the majority of the humans on board until the "carrier" or source of the Noro can conclusively be identified, all thoughts about the source are strictly guesses and certainly not conclusive.

This topic was debated ad nauseam on the Oceania board and turned quite ugly. I'm sure that this isn't what the TS wants to happen on this thread. Regent did not have a Norovirus issue - it had a flu issue, so, I suggest that we drop this and wait for more reports from the ship.

Wendy - thanks for the weather forecast. Strangely, we are having a two-day heatwave in the Pacific Northwest -- go figure!

We had quite an interesting cruise from San Francisco to New York. Looking forward for the next ten days. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Looking forward to your continuing reports; thanks for posting.

 Not sure why this thread immediately veered off towards illness on board

:pOf course we all know how this thread veered off toward illness and probably Noro!! :halo::cool:

Hi! We enjoyed a wonderful day in Midtown today and found an incredible pizza spot...imagine that!

We are still on code red as of now and Regent is doing every precaution around the ship. The Captain announced last night no new cases were reported in 24 hours! Per maritime requirements in order to lift the red code no new cases in 48 hours. Hopefully, it will be lifted.

Thanks, appreciate it!! It was warm in NY today!

B side pizza and wine bar!! Walking distance from Pier 88 where we are docked.

Out of concern for passengers! Passengers on two Mariner cruises in a row have had influenza issues (100% not Noro - not even the same symptoms) and code red. It sounds as if things are under control and certainly hope that they stay that way.

I did read that the leaves were turning early this year but the TS will likely let us know more about this.

Yes, I really hope the leaves are changing! We will be in Newport tmo! [emoji136][emoji12]

But I'm enjoying your trip already, keep the post coming with the photos----thanks for taking the time and enjoy your trip. You were fortunate to have flown that beautiful plane!

Hopefully the TS will let us know if there is a prime rib cart in P7 as we have never seen one. Could this be something that is specific to Oceania's Polo?

Please keep up the great reporting and pics! Looks as if you are having some gorgeously sunny days!!

Jackie: I'm pretty sure I've seen a prime rib cart in P7.

Thanks for letting me know. Guess I just haven't paid attention. The "cart" that I'm happy to see return is the cheese cart in Chartreuse but it may only be on Explorer. Actually, IOO (in our opinion) everything that is great seems to be on Explorer. I'll be interested to get your "take" on the Mariner (as well as the rest of the group that we sailed with last November). I think that we were so spoiled by that ship that going back to the others is a disappointment (which in itself is a disappointment).

Jackie - I agree with you-- as one of the folks who sailed with you on the Explorer last November, I fell in love with this new ship. When we sailed on the Mariner this past April, we were so disappointed. Perhaps, we were comparing it to Explorer. It was just looking "so tired". The staff were still "Regent". All were determined to make the voyage wonderful. Looking forward to sailing the Explorer again, in less than two months.

Wow! Awesome, what a great experience for you both on the Concorde!! We enjoyed dinner at the Compass Rose tonight and had a filet. Not odd...we also enjoy great food moments. Will do if we go to Prime 7.

Tonight we are cruising and thankful once again to see the beautiful Statue of Liberty at night. Not the greatest picture; however, what amazing sight. My Grandmother came from Sweden and knowing what she saw coming into our GREAT country was so meaningful! Along with my hubby and his family.

There’s a New Regent Seven Seas Ship Coming in 2026 — and It’s the First in Its Class

Introducing the Seven Seas Prestige.

Luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises will debut a brand-new ship and ship class in 2026: the Seven Seas Prestige .

The new ship will hold up to 850 guests on board and will be the first new ship class for the company in 10 years, Regent shared with Travel + Leisure .

“This is a truly historic moment for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, as we name the next ship to join The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet as Seven Seas Prestige and reveal her sleek exterior design,” Andrea DeMarco, the president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, said in a statement shared with T+L. “Seven Seas Prestige, debuting in 2026, continues our legacy of revolutionizing ultra luxury travel as she will transcend luxury in every way. This incredible new ship will be the epitome of timeless elegance, exemplifying Regent’s commitment to excellence which is reflected in every aspect of her elevated design and exuding an ambiance of sophistication and refinement.”

When it launches, the Seven Seas Prestige will feature brand new stateroom categories and a reimagined Regent Suite (the largest and most luxurious option Regent offers). The new ship will also include new dining experiences, but Regent said details on those were not immediately available.

The Seven Seas Prestige will be the first of two Prestige-Class ships. The second in the series is expected to launch in 2029.

The new class of ships comes after Regent launched several Explorer-class ships in 2016, in 2020, and in 2023. The company’s most recent ship, the Seven Seas Grandeur , features an impressive 1,600-piece art collection with multiple Picassos and the first-ever Fabergé Egg to be permanently installed at sea. Currently, Regent boasts six ships in its fleet.

Regent offers all-inclusive trips with cruise fares complete with perks like free unlimited shore excursions, free valet laundry, included gratuities, and more. This year, the company introduced new fare options , allowing passengers to pick an all-inclusive cruise-only fare or an “Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare,” which also includes roundtrip flights and a private chauffeur service. The new fare options are available for travelers who book new reservations on or after July 1.

Explore Ottawa, Canada’s capital city and enjoy Montreal’s exquisite architecture, distinctive cuisine and European-influenced atmosphere.

Following disembarkation in Montreal you will be introduced to various areas of the city that reflect its cultural diversity and French charm.

Your exploration of the city begins with the Golden Square Mile. Once home to Canada's Anglophone, predominantly Scottish, upper class, this beautiful neighborhood – named after the square mile it covered – is lined with gorgeous Victorian homes, leafy parks and trees and a plethora of architectural masterpieces. See McGill University and enjoy a short walk at the summit of Mt. Royal Park for a panoramic view of the city.

Then, it’s on to the Mile End, a creative neighborhood, for a taste of a traditional Montreal bagel and then to famed Little Italy for a stroll through the sprawling Jean-Talon Market, complete with tastings from local producers.

Next, you will visit a local restaurant for lunch.

This City Tour would not be complete without a stop in Old Montreal, where you will visit the magnificent 19th-Century Notre-Dame Basilica. Its stained-glass windows depict the history of Ville-Marie, the original name of Montreal.

After an orientation tour on the bus, you will be given the option to follow your guide for a short walking tour of Old Montreal or be given some free time to explore on your own. You will then be taken back to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Dinner will be on your own.

Included in your program is the admission to La Grande Roue de Montréal in Old Montréal which you can experience on your own during your stay (tickets to be provided upon arrival, with your Welcome Letter or at the Hospitality Desk). Built in 2017, La Grande Roue de Montréal has quickly become a major Icon of the Montreal skyline. With its 60 meters high, La Grande Roue de Montréal is the tallest structure of its kind in Canada. Treat yourself during the day for a panoramic view of up to 28 km / 17 miles on a clear day, or in the evening to see the city lights from an exciting angle.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will set out for the 2-hour and 15-minute drive to Ottawa, Canada’s vibrant and beautiful capital city as chosen by Queen Victoria in 1857.

Over the past century, this former lumber town has gracefully blossomed into a cosmopolitan city filled with neo-gothic government buildings, gardens and parks.

Upon arrival in Ottawa, you will travel along Sussex Drive and view the Prime Minister and General Governor’s residences. Downtown, you will see Parliament Hill and take a drive along the Rideau Canal – the brilliant waterway that cuts through Ottawa’s downtown. This famous waterway turns into the world’s longest skating rink in the winter.

After this orientation tour, enjoy some free time at the ByWard Market to grab a bite for lunch on your own and do some further exploring before being picked up for the continuation of the tour.

Established by Lt-Col. John By in 1826, the ByWard Market is one of Canada's oldest and largest public markets. Within an area roughly four blocks square, you'll find museums, cafés, specialty food shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, pubs and more! Easily accessible on foot, the ByWard Market offers a unique experience for all.

After some time at the market, visit the Canadian Museum of History. After a guided tour of the museum, you will explore the Canadian History Hall. Opened on July 1st, 2017 as a gift to the people of Canada for the 150th anniversary of Confederation, this gallery traces Canada’s history from the dawn of human habitation to the present day. Authentic artifacts and stories are explored through various lenses, as you will encounter the events, movements and personalities that have shaped our nation, and whose influence on our lives can still be felt today.

Return to Montreal where the remainder of the day is at your leisure with dinner on your own.

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide and transfer to Jardin Botanique de Montréal to enjoy the natural beauty of this city’s jewel. Recognized as one of the world’s greatest botanical gardens, it displays a collection of over 22,000 plant species and cultivars, 10 exhibition greenhouses, Frédéric Back Tree Pavilion, and more than 20 thematic gardens spread out over 75 hectares.

After your visit, return to your hotel where lunch and the remainder of the day is yours to spend at leisure, allowing time to visit the city on your own taking in more sights not seen on this itinerary or perhaps to shop for Canadian souvenirs.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Check-out is at 12:00pm. You will be transferred to the Montreal International Airport based on your flight details. Should you have a late flight, luggage storage will be available at the hotel.

Boutiques & More

Boutiques & More

An absolute can’t-miss culinary experience aboard Seven Seas Splendor ®, Chartreuse conjures the foodie fantasy of discovering a chic, fine-dining restaurant while strolling the backstreets of Paris. Savor ‘new’ flavors to Chartreuse like frog legs in a garlic cream sauce with rutabaga or bite into the tender veal rack of loin with caramelized endive, grape chutney and the earthy tones of a walnut veal jus sauce.

Sitting and chatting with newfound friends over barista-made coffee has long been a favorite pastime for our guests. Aboard Seven Seas Splendor ® you can now do so in an expanded outdoor section. Our chic metropolitan café with an elegant interior of muted pastels and crisp whites now seamlessly transitions to trendy al fresco seating, where you can sit and chat with clear views of the shimmering sea.

At the heart of Seven Seas Splendor ® is Compass Rose, the largest specialty restaurant across our fleet. This sophisticated venue, exquisite with chandeliers and bold Versace dinnerware, offers a multitude of choices to customize your meal. Savor a favorite like Chateaubriand Beef Tenderloin with a delicious red wine grain mustard sauce or an entirely new dish like the Malaysian-style braised beef short rib with curry sauce and Jasmine rice.

  • La Veranda Begin your day with breakfast at La Veranda and you’ll forever believe it really is the most important meal of the day. Take in gorgeous ocean views from quiet alcoves jutting out over an iridescent sea while savoring made-to-order omelets and other specialties. • Prime 7 A handsome décor of glass, metal and marble will conjure images of walking a red carpet as you enter Prime 7, but you’ll save the accolades for the cuisine, which elevates classic American fare to new heights. The mouthwatering prime New York strip, porterhouse and succulent filet mignon are always aged perfectly and cooked as you like, while orange-pomegranate and tamarind-whiskey sauces redefine classic dishes like scallops and smoked salmon.
  • Sette Mari at La Veranda Wherever you’re voyaging, you’ll never be far from enjoying perfectly prepared Italian dishes in stunning, over-water alcoves. Choose from authentic Italian specialties inspired by family recipes that span generations, or opt for something with a modern twist like a spice-crusted tuna steak with braised endive, polenta and salmoriglio. Savor it all with a perfectly paired Tuscan wine as you watch stars shine on the ocean below.

As a group of intrepid travelers raise their tents in Paris, the Young Mayor finds himself drawn to a mysterious bohemian girl and the call of the open road. "Bohemian Soul" explores an eclectic array of music ranging f rom the "Habanera" from Carmen to hits from Frank Sinatra, Cher, and Lady Gaga. A concert-style review that celebrates and pays tribute to some of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time. You’ll know and sing along with hit after hit! We couldn’t possibly showcase them all, but we’ve chosen a collection of favorites from the last seven decades.

You’ll find time spent on board the ship to be just as enriching as time ashore. Relax by the pool, compete in a friendly game of trivia or bocce ball, indulge in treats at afternoon tea and gain insight from an expert lecturer.

  • Atrium Often described as the crossroads of the ship, our Atrium is an inspiring testament to the grandeur of luxury ocean travel. A cascading stairwell makes it a natural gathering place for guests, and on Seven Seas Splendor® it opens upon Compass Rose, our signature restaurant, to create a dazzling foyer. You’ll surely find yourself in the Atrium many times throughout your voyage, surrounded by magnificent art pieces and a dazzling chandelier.
  • Bocce Court The originators of bocce ball 7,000 years ago couldn’t have imagined their simple game being played high atop a glorious ocean liner... but you’ll be able to do more than imagine while playing it onboard Seven Seas Splendor®. Bocce ball – also known as Italian lawn bowling – is played with a pallina and 8 larger balls, all of course provided.
  • Card Room The beautifully decorated space is an inviting and tranquil oasis for friendly competition. Gather your favorite teammates for a lively afternoon or evening of board games, enjoy a social game of Bridge or participate in an ACBL Tournament on select voyages.

As a guest you’ll always know where to find our General Manager, whose sole responsibility is making sure things are running as they should – and that includes providing you with superior customer service.
  • Golf Net The glorious ocean vistas you’ll admire every day won’t necessarily have you thinking of golf course fairways, but if you find yourself wishing you could be practicing your fairway swing, head to our Golf Net. All the clubs and golf balls you need are available. Who knows? Maybe you’ll return home from your voyage with a few kinks worked out of your golf swing...
  • INFINITY-EDGE PLUNGE POOL Surrounded by an inviting teak-deck terrace filled with plush, partially covered lounge chairs, our refreshing Infinity-Edge Plunge Pool is a perfect place to soak and take in dramatic views, as the pool contours to the stern of the ship.
  • Paddle Tennis Court One look at our Paddle Tennis Court and you’ll know it’s a place of serious competition. All the equipment you need is nearby, the court is completely screened and the surface is immaculate. Whether you find yourself in a tense match or something more leisurely, you and your fellow players will be enjoying fresh ocean air and fantastic views from high atop your ship.
  • Pool Bar When you envision the type of activity you’re only likely to do while on vacation, sipping a frozen drink at a pool bar onboard a glorious cruise ship is probably near the top of the list. You can tick that box at our Pool Bar, where you and new friends can enjoy leisurely conversation over cocktails and frozen drinks in a delightfully relaxed atmosphere.
  • Pool Deck If it’s a day by the pool you desire, our Pool Deck is one of the most elegant at sea. Outfitted in teak accents, it features a lavish pool and two whirlpools in a blissful setting. Lounge the day away under the warm sun or read a book in a shady nook with an amiable and dedicated crew on-hand to bring refreshing beverages and plush towels.
  • Putting Green While the Golf Net is meant to help you improve your fairway swing, our Putting Greens are less about self-improvement than group fun as your ship travels from one destination to another. A popular pastime is gathering friends after an afternoon cocktail and heading to the top deck of Seven Seas Splendor® for a spirited competition as twilight approaches and a delicious dinner in one of our stellar restaurants looms.
  • Shuffleboard This isn’t the sleepy version of shuffleboard. From high atop Seven Seas Splendor®, you’ll be enchanted by ocean vistas stretching horizon to horizon as you engage in a game that dates back to 15th-century England. All equipment is well-maintained and available for use – all you have to do is bring a team, or perhaps join one in need of a player.
  • Sports Deck You may visit our Sports Deck after a relaxing visit to Serene Spa & Wellness™ to jog a few laps around our track or practice your fairway golf swing. Then again, you could head up to Deck 12 after an afternoon cocktail to take on new friends in games of bocce ball or paddle tennis. Whatever you do, you’ll enjoy the freshest ocean air and vistas you’ll never forget.
  • The Study In an atmosphere that’s reminiscent of a personal library in an elegant, stately home, Regent Suite guests may gather in The Study to privately dine on meals from the adjacent Chartreuse and Prime 7 restaurants. Such an exclusive opportunity further establishes the Regent Suite on Seven Seas Splendor® as the pre-eminent luxury accommodation on the high seas.
  • The Casino Inspired by the iconic gaming halls of Las Vegas and Monte Carlo, our Casino is an elegant and exciting destination unto itself. Whether you’re a player or spectator, the excitement is contagious, the drinks are delightful and the staff is welcoming. Challenge friends to poker and blackjack or cheer on your number at the roulette wheel. Find your way to our Casino through stylish glass doors – and may Lady Luck treat you kindly.

This guest favorite is many things: a hallmark, a much-loved hideaway, an elegant gathering place for good conversation and bonhomie. Aboard  Seven Seas Splendor ® it’s also a modern space with oversize leather armchairs and signature works of art placed tastefully throughout. Stop in and test the conversational waters over a fine cigar or fine cognac, both available for purchase. As you would guess, smoking is permitted here.

  • Constellation Theater Plush seating and pleasing sightlines make every seat a great seat in our state-of-the-art show hall. Stretching two decks, the Constellation Theater boasts lavishly staged, high-energy shows created and produced by our own team of Broadway choreographers and directors. Sit in comfort or get up and dance to stories brimming with romance, intrigue, singalongs – even a tear-jerking tribute to the days of disco.
  • Meridian Lounge Elegantly appointed and comfortably furnished, this sleek lounge is a showstopper, with an expansive bar serving your favorite cocktails. Warm lighting and sophisticated ambiance are integral to its charm, but its vibe is the intangible draw. Meet for a drink before a show at the Constellation Theater or to continue your unforgettable evening with performances by resident musicians afterwards.
  • Observation Lounge Our fleet abounds with spectacular suites, restaurants, and lounges, but the Observation Lounge on Seven Seas Splendor® is truly magical. It offers staggering views as the ship enters and leaves ports of call, but its interior is lush with upholsteries inspired by the fluidity of flower petals, giving it the feel of a sunlit English garden. At night, a whimsical chandelier and hand-painted glass screens work in tandem with a cocktail pianist to perfect the scene.
