Rugosa Lobster Tours are scenic coastal cruises including a detailed lobsterman demonstration and lobster lecture, with a hands-on lobsterman experience. The trips are 1 hour and 15 minutes in duration and happen three times a day at 10:30AM, 1:00PM and 3:30 PM daily. Price are $40 for Adults $30 for children 12 and under. Children need to be 6 years or older. Private charters are also available from 1 to 2 hours long. …

Overall rating

Fantastic guides who are super knowledgeable and accommodating. The lobster fisherman guides weave interesting facts about lobsters that are incredibly fascinating and share info regarding the Kennebunkport area and landmarks. If you are prone to sea sickness they have acupuncture wrist bands but I believe they should also have Dramamine meds and ginger chews. We had one passenger who got sick and we all felt so badly for the person. Just a fyi.

Thank you Sean for your kind review. We are delighted that you enjoyed what we have to offer. In regards to your comments on ssa sickness remedies, we use the acupressure sea bands because we have found them to be pretty effective. We stay away from anything that is ingested because we have no idea what allergies or other issues could be a problem for people with any kind of ingested medication. Therefore, we do not offer them.

Very educational and fun. Capt and first mate knowledgeable and interactive. Highly recommend.

My family and I took this tour when they visited and it was a great experience. The weather on the day of our tour was pretty bad, so they reached out that morning to offer to reschedule us or give us a refund. We were able to get rebooked on a tour the next day. Captain Bob and Jim were great guides, and we learned so much about the lobster industry. The kids (6 and 9) had an absolute blast and got to practice banding claws and throwing the catch back. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area or even just learning more about where they live!

My daughter and I had a great time on this trip. The crew did an excellent job teaching us the ins and outs of lobster fishing and took their time educating us on the anatomy of a lobster. A must do trip!!!

Uber interesting & fun tour!! The captain & the professor really know how to make this trip interesting, educational and interactive. We learned a ton & had a great time. I'd recommend this smaller boat to everyone & it's perfect for families.

We absolutely LOVED our tour with our lobster expert Philip! It's really pretty grounds, so go 1/2 hour early to take pictures! They welcome you onboard, and they make EVERYONE feel welcome. They left right on time...gave us a brief history/tour of the Kennebunk/Kennebunkport area along the river and then went into the ocean. We learned SO MUCH about the life of a lobster, visited several traps to pull them up along the way, and even got to hold a live lobster. It wasn't one of those tours where you get tired of listening because they talk the whole time and feel overwhelmed. They gave plenty of information and let us ask questions. I would definitely recommend this tour, whether it be a for a family, a group of friends, or a couple. The ONLY recommendation I would give them is to put a Venmo account name so people who don't have cash can easily send a tip. Thank you for a great tour!

My 17-year old daughter and I took the trip to see Boon and Nubble Island lighthouses. We had a fantastic time- saw lots of seals too. The crew was great- friendly and accommodating. Captain Gary has great stories to tell. I highly recommend this trip for a fun morning adventure.

My family and I had an awesome trip with Captain Gary and Wess on the one hour Thrill Ride! They were entertaining, knowledgeable about the sea life that we saw, and gave us a thrill ride that is not to be missed! We are already planning another trip. Thank you for being such great hosts!

We did the 1 hr thrill ride.What a ride! Awesome crew. Better then the Codzilla in Boston Ma. Or the Banana boat. We will be back next year to do the whale watch with you.

We recently went on the one hour Thrill Ride and it was by far the best part of our vacation. Our group included children, teenagers, parents, and a grandparent and everyone was raving about how fun and exciting the ride was... Definitely will do it again and highly recommend it!

From the South

Cross into Maine from New Hampshire on I-95 and go past the first four exits. Go thru and pay the toll in York. Now you are on the Maine Turnpike (and I-95).

EXIT 19, WELLS EXIT DIRECTIONS:

Go 10 miles past the York Toll and take the Wells Exit (#19) off Maine Turnpike (I-95). Take a left on Route 9. Go 1.5 miles and take a left onto Route 1 North. Go 1 mile and just past The Maine Diner, take a right back onto Rt 9, following signs for Shore Route – Kennebunkport. Go 4 miles and cross the small bridge into Kennebunkport and Dock Square: Take a right in Dock Square at the center pillar onto Ocean Avenue. The Nonantum Resort is in .7 miles, on the RIGHT. Parking is either on your left (across the street from the resort) or in our Portside parking lot on the Right.

EXIT 25, KENNEBUNK EXIT DIRECTIONS:

Go 15 miles past the toll and take the Kennebunk Exit (#25) off Maine Turnpike (I-95), follow Route 35. You will pass Kennebunk High School on your left. You will come to a small rotary, go two thirds around the rotary and exit staying on Rt 35. Go .5 miles and Rt 35 will meet Rt 1 at a traffic light in Kennebunk. Go left at the light for 75 feet on Rt 1, and go right at the next light back onto Rt 35. Follow Rt 35 (Summer Street) for 4 miles (passing the Wedding Cake House on the way). When you get to the traffic light at Route 9, take a left at the Sunoco Station onto Route 9. Cross the small bridge into Kennebunkport and Dock Square: Take a right in Dock Square at the center pillar onto Ocean Avenue. The Nonantum Resort is in .7 miles on the right. Parking is either on your left (across the street from the resort) or in our Portside parking lot on the right.

Coming from the North

DIRECTIONS USING EXIT 32 -BIDDEFORD/RT 111 EXIT:

Follow Maine Turnpike (I-95 South) to Exit 32, Biddeford/Rt 111 Exit. Go straight thru the lights crossing over Route 111. Go 1 mile and go RIGHT at next set of lights, onto Rt.1 South. Go about 3 miles, and at the next set of lights, turn LEFT onto Log Cabin Road. (Log Cabin Road becomes Arundel Road then becomes North St.) Follow for approximately 6 miles (passing the Seashore Trolley Museum half-way) into Kennebunkport. Take right onto Spring Street into Dock Square. Go 100 yards and take a left in Dock Square at the center pillar onto Ocean Avenue. The Nonantum Resort is in .7 miles on the right. Parking is either on your left (across the street from the resort) or in our Portside parking lot on the right.
