Road trip stop! Gas reasonable and restrooms clean! Boom, that's it! Only 2 things you need!

This place has everything laundry room, lounge room, showers you name it they have it. Service was great and so many different options to choose from In the food section. Highly recommend having this your place to stop while traveling.

May2023:2 : Okay, this location was significantly different from the other locations we stopped along the way of our trip. Several of the outside pumps were out of order with bags over them. The personnel inside at the cash register were efficient and capable. Good customer service and greeting skills. I walked through this area and it appears that the attached businesses are not functional except for the sit down diner. There was a sign at the front that indicated seat yourself. I stopped in the restroom and was disgusted by the filthy nature of the whole thing.

Convenient as it's right off the highway, pump worked great with no issues. Inside, the bathrooms are at the opposite end where all the showers, laundry & all the truckers hang out. The women's bathroom was fairly clean and empty. However the men's bathroom had a line and I could smell the urine from outside. Husband used it and said was incredibly filthy and none of the containers had soap.

Even with the pandemic Travel America still manages to keep the party going and seems to still be the exclusive pit stop for travelers. It's been well over a couple years since I last visited this one. Compared to the precovid days it's looking a lot different these days. This time around I visited mainly to pick up some bottled waters and to use the restroom before headed back to Edgewood. The staff was wearing masks. Restrooms were fairly clean. The place was fairly decent with the exception of the usual occasional wacko or two hanging around. They also offer showers for the truckers or travels going through for a small fee. So if your hurting for one that's the spot to hit up. Will I be back? Most likely if I'm in Moriarty since it's the biggest one out there that also offers food.

Avoid this shop. These are by far some of the laziest, worthless technicians I have ever seen in my four years of truck driving I watch the guy who was supposed to replace three tires on my truck take about 15 breaks in the process so after 2 1/2 hours and only having one tire replaced, I told them I was done. Because of this, I will never go to any TA for service ever again they charged me for two hours of work when they only actually work about 20 minutes.

Disgusting place. Probably worst place to stop on I40 in the south west. Never have I seen the bathrooms clean. And it seems like it gets way too much traffic they this place than it can accommodate.

I don't care if I have 18 flat tires and the engine is falling out of my tractor, I'll never go to the shop here again.

Good coffee, clean establishment and everything you need at a travel center. Plenty of turnaround space at back for a Motor coach and toad.

Nah. Had to move to 3 different pumps. Small trickle of gas at each pump. Paid at each pump. Total amount of gas in our tank (combined)? 1 gallon. Spent 18 minutes trying to pump gas. 3 card charges for less than $2. One charge was 23¢ ... Finally had to leave. Bad restrooms. No paper towels. Going somewhere else.

‘Taylor would never disappear’: Chicago woman goes missing in the Bahamas during yoga retreat

N ASSAU, Bahamas ( WGN ) — Family members of a Chicago woman are searching for answers on Monday after she vanished while on a yoga retreat in the Bahamas.

The whereabouts of 41-year-old Taylor Casey are unknown almost a week later according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force. She was last seen in the area of Paradise Island, in Nassau, on June 19th.

Since her disappearance, a Facebook group called “ Find Taylor Casey ” has been started.

A family spokesperson said Casey left Chicago to participate in a yoga teacher training program in the Caribbean, to fulfill a long-term goal of deepening her practice.

Casey has been practicing yoga for 15 years.

Casey’s mother, Colette Seymore, said she is gravely concerned for her daughter’s safety and well-being.

“I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others upon her return. Taylor would never disappear like this.” Colette Seymore

Casey’s disappearance comes months after the U.S. government issued a Level 2 Travel Advisory for the Bahamas.

In the advisory, which was issued in late January, government officials warned visitors about water hazards and crime in certain parts of the country, including the area where Casey had traveled.

“The majority of crime occurs on New Providence (Nassau) and Grand Bahama (Freeport) islands. In Nassau, practice increased vigilance in the “Over the Hill” area (south of Shirley Street) where gang-on-gang violence has resulted in a high homicide rate primarily affecting the local population,” the advisory said in part. “Violent crime, such as burglaries, armed robberies, and sexual assaults, occur in both tourist and non-tourist areas. Be vigilant when staying at short-term vacation rental properties where private security companies do not have a presence.”

“It does seem to still be a popular destination despite the warnings. We did see it’s the second most popular destination for spring break travelers,” travel insurance expert Megan Walch said.

According to Walch, under the advisory, it is crucial to exercise increased caution:

“Always be aware of your surroundings. Don’t answer your door at your hotel or where you’re staying if you don’t know who it is.”

A family spokesperson described the missing woman as a vibrant individual with a loving personality and added that family members found it unusual that Casey would cut off communication with them.

While there has been complete silence from Casey, loved ones said they are staying hopeful that she will be found safe and sound.

To help authorities in the search, Casey’s mother and a group of supporters will be going to the Bahamas on Tuesday.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the police.

Kah-Nee-Ta resort offers sneak peek of renovation, teases July opening

Kah-Nee-Ta is inching closer to reopening.

The Warm Springs resort announced Wednesday on Facebook that it will open in mid-July, though reservations are still not available. The resort also released photos showcasing new soaking pools at the revamped hot springs resort.

Additional information, including an opening date and when reservations will go live, is expected to come soon. In its Facebook post, the resort plugged its Forever Club membership, which promises early access to information.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, which owns and operates Kah-Nee-Ta, had previously hoped to reopen the resort in 2023, following a major remodel that includes new soaking pools, hotel rooms and dining options. Last July, the tribe officially delayed those plans after fierce spring storms derailed construction.

In December, the resort pushed its reopening plans to summer 2024.

The new Kah-Nee-Ta resort will have a total of seven soaking pools, as well as 15 VIP poolside cabanas. Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Spring Resort

The tribe has announced a total of seven pools, as well as 15 VIP poolside cabanas. The larger pools include a children’s spray pool, a sports pool, a lazy river and soaking pools. There will also be three wellness soaking pools, ranging from 92 to 103 degrees.

Lodging will include 20 teepees, 30 hotel rooms, and an RV park with showers, laundry facilities and a game room. Food will be offered at an outside food court as well as a new sports bar and restaurant currently under construction.

The renovation project has also meant an overhaul of Kah-Nee-Ta’s sewer, stormwater and irrigation systems, as well as the heating and air conditioning systems, the tribe said.

The $6.08 million funding for the project came from the American Rescue Plan Act, the tribe previously announced. That includes $1.5 million earmarked specifically to repair the wastewater system that serves Kah-Nee-Ta and the local community. Reopening the Kah-Nee-Ta Village is expected to provide 50 full-time and more than 80 part-time jobs during the busy season, the tribe said.
