About Take That in Birmingham Tickets 2024
After a break of over five years, Take That are back on the road, and the band look like they are very much Back for Good and ready to entertain the masses. The release of the band’s ninth album, This Life, proved hugely successful with the record topping the UK Charts and performing well across Europe, hence the push to once again go on tour.

‘This Life On Tour’ will see the trio play 29 dates in 15 cities in the UK and Ireland
Everyone knows Take That. They’re a British institution, responsible for some of the biggest pop tunes of the past three decades, from ‘Shine’ and ‘Patience’ to ‘Back For Good’. Just reading that, we know you’ve just started humming one of those tunes.
These days consisting of just Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, there are decisively fewer members of Take That than at the group’s peak. But they’re still going strong, having just released a new single (‘Windows’) and announced a new album (‘This Life’) to be released in November.

By all accounts, the presale sounded like a bit of a frenzy. Fans took to Twitter to express frustration at lengthy waiting times and website issues. Here’s to hoping there aren’t any similar problems when general tickets go on sale on September 29!

Take That Biography
Take That come to Nottingham: Find out what to expect after trio played Birmingham
T ake That come to Nottingham's City Ground this weekend with tens of thousands of fans expected at the stadium. The concert marks the first big gig at Nottingham Forest's home since REM played there in 2005. We take a look at how the set went down at Birmingham's Utilita Arena last week - but be warned there may be some spoilers in here. Birmingham Live's Dayna Farrington reviewed the concert.
Take That have made a triumphant return to Birmingham, taking fans on a nostalgic journey from the 1990s to the present day. Their latest tour, aptly named 'This Life', truly encapsulates their musical journey and they certainly owned the stage.
When Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald graced the stage of Birmingham's Utilita Arena on Tuesday night (May 14), it felt like a homecoming. It had been five years since their last tour visited Brum, but as they kicked off with their opening numbers 'Keep Your Head Up' and 'Windows', it was as if no time had passed at all.
Take That are renowned for their live performances, and this tour was no exception. Gone were the circus elephants and towering robots of previous shows, replaced by a more stripped-back and intimate feel for the 'This Life On Tour'.
Yet, it retained the spectacle that is synonymous with a Take That show - complete with wind, fire, rain, snow, rotating stages and stairs.
The relaxed atmosphere allowed each member's vocal talent to shine through. They performed some of their earliest hits including 'Everything Changes', sung by Howard, and 'Sure', reports Birmingham Live .
Mark took the lead for their smash hit 'Shine', always a favourite among the crowd.
The band took us on a nostalgic journey with a This Life-esque show, starting from the early days of a young Gary writing 'A Million Love Songs' on his keyboard, to their first number one hit with 'Pray'. The painful 1996 break up was briefly touched upon, followed by a look into the solo careers of the three remaining members, leading up to their 2006 comeback with 'Patience'.
There were heartfelt tributes to former members Robbie Williams and Jason Orange. The focus then shifted to their latest album, as they performed 'March of the Hopeful' and 'the Champion', before settling down on a yellow sofa with their band and crew for a lovely rendition of 'This Life'.
As Gary started singing 'Greatest Day', a massive walkway descended from the ceiling, allowing the trio to make their way to their 'B stage', a common feature at a TT tour, enabling them to get 'up close with fans'. The rotating stage added a new dimension to fan-favourite 'These Days'.
'Relight My Fire' saw actual flames shooting from the stage, turning up the heat, before Take That moved into the show's encore of 'Hold Up A Light', 'Back For Good' and 'Never Forget' wearing dazzling white suits and crowns. Having seen Take That live numerous times, it never gets old seeing thousands of people doing the 'Never Forget' hand movements.
It's truly something special.
As the evening drew to a close, Gary urged everyone in the audience to light up their mobile phones for the final song, Rule the World - and it truly felt like they had conquered the world that night. They were worthy of those crowns - what an incredible show!
Earlier in the evening, Olly Murs proved to be the ideal warm-up act. He got the crowd on their feet, singing and dancing along to hits such as Dance With Me Tonight, Troublemaker and more.
What made the night even more special was that he was celebrating his 40th birthday with us!
Take That will be performing at Utilita Arena on Wednesday, May 15, and Friday, May 17, through to Monday, May 20. Limited tickets are still available for the shows on The Ticket Factory, Ticketmaster and Gigs and Tours.

Picture This play St Anne’s Park on Saturday, June 1st, 2024.

How do I get there, and home again?
Allow at least an extra two hours’ travel time to and from the venue. As traffic and delays are inevitable, you are strongly advised to use public transport. There are no parking facilities available locally, and towing and clamping will be in operation.
By Dart: The nearest stop to the venue is Harmonstown. For timetable information see Irish Rail’s journey planner .
By bus: Several Dublin Bus services will bring you within walking distance of the concert site. Bus routes from Abbey Street Lower include 6, H1, H2, H3 or 130. For more information visit dublinbus.ie .
Approach routes: Follow instructions on your ticket for entry to venue. Your ticket will outline which route/entry to take to the venue. Both routes require a roughly 1.3km walk from the park entrance to the concert arena.

What will they play?
Here is what concertgoers can expect from the band on June 1st, according to their March gig at Hare and Hounds in Birmingham:

Are there any tickets left?
There may be resale tickets available on Ticketmaster.ie but the concert is officially sold out. Concertgoers are advised to buy tickets from accredited sources only.
What’s the story with security?
Under-16s attending the concert must be accompanied at all times by an adult over 25. Unaccompanied under-16s will be refused entry without refund. The promoter deems that large outdoor concerts are not a suitable environment for children under five.
Allow time for security checks on the way in. Bags larger than A4 size will not be permitted. All bags may be searched, and this can be time-consuming, so consider going bagless for easier entry. There will be no cloakroom or storage facilities. No alcohol – or food – is allowed into the arena.
Other banned items at the event include – but are not exclusive to – umbrellas, garden furniture, camping chairs, selfie sticks, flares, glasses or cans.
There is also no re-admission to the concert, so if you leave, you cannot re-enter.
Can I take photographs at the concert?
Smartphones and small digital cameras are permitted, but cameras with long or detachable lenses, or recording equipment, are not. GoPros and iPads are also prohibited.
What’s the weather forecast?
The forecast is for temperatures between nine and 15 degrees, with little to no rain expected. St Anne’s Park is a standing-only venue, and all gigs take place outdoors on grass, so regardless of the forecast, dress accordingly for Irish weather – think wellies, boots or runners, layers, raincoats/ponchos and suncream.

Justice Department sues Live Nation and Ticketmaster for monopolizing concert industry
By Robert Legare , Aimee Picchi
Updated on: May 23, 2024 / 7:57 PM EDT / CBS News
Washington — The Justice Department filed a federal lawsuit Thursday accusing Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation of illegally monopolizing the live entertainment industry to the detriment of concertgoers and artists alike.
In a 128-page civil suit filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, federal officials allege that Live Nation has illegally thwarted competition and unduly burdened consumers in part through its ownership of Ticketmaster, which effectively gives it control over much of the market for live entertainment.
Justice Department officials said Thursday they are seeking structural changes to how the company does business, which could include breaking apart the two entities.
In 2022, Ticketmaster's mishandling of ticket sales for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour prompted enormous public outcry over Live Nation's hold on the entertainment and ticketing industries. The Justice Department's Antitrust Division was already investigating the company when the Swift fiasco unfolded, CBS News previously reported.
The lawsuit
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the suit at the Justice Department, laying out the core accusations in the complaint.
"We allege that Live Nation has illegally monopolized markets across the live concert industry in the United States for far too long. It is time to break it up. The American people are ready for it," said Garland, a known Swift fan, in a not-so-subtle nod to one of her songs .
Joined by 29 states and the District of Columbia, the federal suit accused the entertainment giant of blocking innovation in the industry by establishing what officials referred to as a "self-reinforcing 'flywheel,'" using its various business components to capture all fees associated with concerts.
This flywheel, according to the complaint, allows the company to charge customers fees, and then use that revenue to attract major artists and lock them into longer-term deals to sell more tickets.
"Live Nation's monopoly, and the anticompetitive conduct that protects and maintains its monopoly, strikes a chord precisely because the industry at stake is one that has for generations inspired, entertained, and challenged Americans," the complaint said. "Conduct that subverts competition here not only harms the structure of the live music industry and the countless people that work in that industry, but also damages the foundation of creative expression and art that lies at the heart of our personal, social, and political lives."
In 2010, federal regulators, including those at the Justice Department, approved the merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster, which ultimately allowed the promotional, venue and ticketing industries to be brought under the control of one corporation.
Thursday's lawsuit, however, said the relationship has since hurt American consumers and presents barriers to artists. Senior Justice Department officials alleged that Live Nation and Ticketmaster worked to unlawfully squeeze consumers for money even after artists get paid, through what they characterized as monopolistic intermediaries.
According to the complaint, Live Nation has strong-armed businesses with financial retaliation if they engage with its competitors and has wielded its control over the market by threatening to pull future events if venues opt not to use Ticketmaster exclusively.
Such control, the Justice Department said, has meant concertgoers pay more for tickets and touring artists sign long-term agreements to solely perform at venues that use the ticket-selling program.
In a statement, Live Nation said the suit "won't solve the issues fans care about relating to ticket prices, service fees, and access to in-demand shows." The company said that "[c]alling Ticketmaster a monopoly may be a PR win for the DOJ in the short term, but it will lose in court because it ignores the basic economics of live entertainment," noting that "competition has steadily eroded Ticketmaster's market share and profit margin."
"We will defend against these baseless allegations, use this opportunity to shed light on the industry, and continue to push for reforms that truly protect consumers and artists," Live Nation said.
At a Senate hearing in January 2023, artists testified about the hold Live Nation had over them. Clyde Lawrence, of the band Lawrence, testified that Live Nation's power lies in the fact that it's the promoter, the venue and the ticket company.
"Because Live Nation owns the venue, fronts the money for the show and sells the tickets, they have outsized power when negotiating with artists," he told the panel, offering an example: For one show, Lawrence set ticket prices at $30. After Ticketmaster added a 40% fee, fans paid $42 per ticket. And after paying for facility costs, the band made $12 per ticket — about half of which went to covering the costs of touring.
