Fantastic Jeep Safari of Tenerife

We recently took a jeep safari with Tamaran Jeep Safari, it was one of the most exciting and fun things I have done in a long time. Frank our guide was so funny and full of knowledge about the Island of Tenerife. We took the Tiede and Masca tour which I can highly recommend. The views are breath taking and the ride itself keeps you on the edge of your seat. My only disappointment was the lunch and the little time you have to buy souvenirs from the villages. If you are able to afford this trip it is well worth the money at €48 per person.

Do it by jeep! A great day out to see the sights of Mt Teide & Masca. We went on the full day trip. It was a hot clear day and amazing views over the southern coastline of tenerife. The guide, Colin was informative and was entertaining. There's a fair bit of travelling but you need to get about to see everything. The views of Teide were brill and breathtaking not sure I'd be able to sleep in the lonely hotel near to the summit ha ha be to worried about the volcano blowing it's top while I'm there. It was great to be up there above the clouds and just to get away from the same old same old. The tour left Teide and headed for lunch in at a nice restaurant with a great view over Tamaimo then onto Masca. The road to Masca was a sight in itself and not for the faint hearted. Masca is in a beautiful location and is lovely to wander around, we didn't really have to much time there as the day was almost over so make sure you jump on and off the jeep as quick as poss when your told so you can spend a bit more time here...stunning scenery, valleys and cliffs. The whole trip was well worth the money spent and I would recommend it to anyone.

Booked a half day safari to Mount Teide. Very efficient transfers to meeting point. Nice touch to travel in convoy up to the volcano! Drivers very knowledgeable and told us interesting facts about the area, stopping several times for photos and refreshments. Stunning views of Tenerife, surrounding islands and of course the volcano and craters. Great value for money. Happy to recommend this tour.

Avoid Tamaran jeep safari but is very nice. The Jeep company 'Tamaran' are terrible. They where very rude to us and we wished we had took the bus there instead of using them. The guides are bad, the attitude of this company is as if they have no customer service at all. Be warned! But Masca is great, we enjoyed the views and would go again but on a bus!

Please accept our sincere apologies for making your bad experience with us. There is no excuses to be rude and treat people badly. We would like to know more information about what happened to prevent this from happening in the future. Please, write to [email protected]. On the other hand we would like to make it up with a free ticket if you return to Tenerife, to try to do it better.

Drivers were good and helpful. We were collected near our hotel and taken to a central meeting point. Stood about for nearly an hour before tour got started. The jeeps allow you to go on some of the smaller roads other vehicles don't, giving you some amazing views, and even more so when they roll the fabric tops back. Lots to see, lots of stops with enough time to enjoy the area you have stopped at. They try to put people who speak the same language in a jeep, however, due to numbers, we had "JuJu" (apologies if spelt wrong) a French speaking stuntman, who after explaining to the French in our group, then did his best to tell us (which was good). We were collected from hotel on time and sorted into language groups so our guide only had to speak one language. Colin was a fantastic host, we traveled in convoy with photo stops and drink stops and was able to explore the island in depth on the smaller roads. While in Tenerife with the wives the six husbands decided on a wee tour for a day and booked the Jeep Safari Tour to La Gomera costing 135 euro good value for money as the ferry alone for tourists is around 85 euro per person. La Gomera is always somewhere we had all threatened to visit but never done it so glad we did and its now ticked off the bucket list. Got picked up from the hotel at 8am in the morning and introduced to Jose Francisco (aka Frankie in it) who would become our guide for the day. Frankie was a star, speaks excellent English as he has lived in the UK and some of his children and grandchildren are still there so he visits the UK regularly. He is a fountain of knowledge and throughout the day he kept us entertained with facts, knowledge and experience. The trip is not for the faint hearted as the roads, heights and hair pin bends are a little terrifying however Frankie made the whole experience so good. The ferry takes about 55 mins and is a smooth crossing and as soon as you arrive Frankie and the team take you on the breathtaking adventure and you see every part of the island from top to bottom. left to right we seen it all. You get an opportunity throughout the say to stop at the main attractions, take a breath, stretch your legs, take a bio break and photographs. We stopped for lunch (which is included in the cost) at a lovely mountain restaurant, 3 courses soup for starters, beef or fish for main then a canarian desert, As much wine and water as you want all included and again an opportunity to meet people and take photographs. At the end of the day you get 1 hour to explore the main town San Sebastian, wander the streets and take a beer, It was an excellent trip and that was mainly down to Frankie in it, thanks for being our guide, we all loved it. We stopped at a collage of stops from touristy to breathtaking views. The driver was excellent and fun driving thru hairpin turns. When we stopped, the driver/lead guide in the first jeep would give us a fun anecdotal story of what we are seeing. These are great people having fun and enjoying what they are doing. The dice gave me Tamaran, who did not disappoint me. The tour in Dutch was done by a guy who left Flanders 40 years ago. He tells something about what you're looking at at each stop. Off course, the small group becomes a small crowd since you drive in a caravan of 4 or 5 jeeps. I noticed that the contents of the stories may vary between one or the other guide. • brian t 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Up the mountain we go again We have been up the mountain before in a coach but this time decided to book a VIP Tour through Jet2, it was fantastic Neil Montgomery the driver/guide of our eight seater mini bus was out of the world, his knowledge and understanding of the environment was second to none, he took us places we had not been before because a full size coach would not have been able to use the tiny roads he used. About 7-8 jeeps in total all went on Ferry. Visited several stops with an appropriate time spent at each. Meal was nice. Colin very knowledgeable and made the trip very interesting. We have been going to Tenerife for over 7 years and this was our first trip to La Gomera. Probably one of the best day excursions we have had and so glad we chose the jeep safari tour with Tamaran. On trip advisor it says you need to pay port fees but that was included with our booking. It is currently unusually hot in the canaries so we had no need for jackets/cardigans ( although we did take them) but Colin advised us that it can be a lot cooler at this time of year when you are up high but we had the roof off and we we were still very warm .
