In the early 1990s, The Breeders went from being a one-off side project for Pixies bassist Kim Deal to being a full-time going concern when the other group broke up. Featuring a sound that combined punchy, punk guitars and the sweet, almost candy-like harmonies of Deal and her sister Kelly, the Breeders ended up calling it a damn amid legal problems and record company hassles.Last year, however, marked the 20th anniversary of the band's breakthrough album, Last Splash, and newly reformed and energized, they've taken to road performing that record in its entirety, as well as a good slate of new material expected to appear soon on a new record.

On stage, the bouncing effervescence of that the Deal sisters displayed in the band's first go-round is still very much a part of their charm in a live setting. Counterpointed by bassist Josephine Wiggs's ice queen stage presence and Jim McPherson's booming drums, the band sounds tighter today than perhaps they ever did in their original go-round.

Performing Last Splash live in the original CD's running order means that their biggest hits, “Cannon Ball” and “Divine Hammer”, show up fairly early in the set. That being said, newer material and a few well-chosen covers (especially a wonderfully creative version of The Beatles' “Happiness Is A Warm Gun”) fill out the evening nicely and make for an amazing concert experience.

We arrived and the First band “Melk Belly”

Who really rocked it was a pleasant surprise cause usually your just thinking can we just get to the band we want to see and we’re just awesome and a good pairing to line up with Thd Breeders!

So The Breeders take the stage and Kim and Kelly were in great moods and it just spred threw out the audience and just seem to make everyone feel a connection.

They actually new what city they were in and told some stories and just rocked it,Kim even noticed my 2005 Pixies tour t-shirt and comented on it and at the end of the show Kim hands me her set list!

I can’t think of it getting much better than that,except The National ofwhich anyone we ran into was very cool,but when the first band went on i noticed that the stage pa speakers weren’t on and I even went and told the sound guy,there apparently is a short in the power source for them as they kept cutting on and off throughout most of the show there for we couldn’t hear most of what they were saying because the main PA system is aimed out on the sides and we were right in the middle of front stage so what you could here was just the slap back from the main PA which was a bummer but beyond that what a GREAT Night!

It was a wonderful night that flew by too quickly. Kim glows with joy when she plays and sings--it's hard to take your eyes off her. The sister vibes and good-natured joking amongst band members was much fun. Enjoyed Josephine's deadpan reactions to Kim's jokes. Such a warm feeling. They played and sang beautifully, with love for the music and for the crowd. I had a great view, and it was so cool to watch the little details of how guitar parts are played. Both new and old songs were played with inspiration. Go see them if you can!

FrEaKiNg fantastic! Hot as hell & twice as fun. It was an stand out show, The Breeders were on top form.

Setlist was great & the performance was packed with energy. One of the best shows I've seen at Bristol Academy.

The opening act Pip Blom were also great, really interesting riffs, vocals, rhythms, will be checking them out. All around awesome!

The show had 110% studio quality sound. They really enjoyed being up there as they played. They were always smiling. They were very appreciative of their fan base cheering them on in the crowd! We met them after the show. They were super friendly and happily signed our swag!

Mellow and relaxed, Kim seemed to enjoy and have fun and that vibe is contagious. The Danes do have to be warmed up some. Slowly the show just got better and better ending with some magical moments. Kims voice has something very special. Very happy with that evening

They. Were. Awesome. Enjoyed every single minute and song. He opening band Flasher was good as well, but the Breeders were so much fun and I enjoyed their giddiness at being on stage. They looked like they enjoyed being on stage. Loved!!!

Great show and nice venue! The "Sleigh'r" beer was really good. The Breeders played older songs and a few newer ones from Mountain Battles plus one I didn't recognize.

I was extra excited to hear Happiness is a Warm Gun and Drivin' on 9!

Amazing show! Fun, laid back, and the perfect blend of old and new tunes. Scoot Inn is a great venue, it felt a bit like we were listening to old friends play in someone's backyard. Would definitely see the band and visit the venue again.

I remember the first BDO back in the early 90s they were insane then.... not a lot has changed. Fantastic gig ! New songs were awesome! Would definitely go again. Powerstation was a perfect venue

The Breeders return to Australia in January 2024 for an East Coast tour, their first tour of Australia in five years.

The Breeders, originally conceived by Kim Deal and Tanya Donelly, emerged as a creative outlet, became one of the biggest bands of the early 90s, and influenced many bands that followed. Their second album, Last Splash , won them a legion of fans and featured their massive hit single “Cannonball”. Released in 1993, the record catapulted the band into the mainstream, where it achieved platinum status and saw them open for Nirvana.

Since their hiatus in 1995, the band have spent the 2000s releasing albums sporadically, including Title TK (2002), Mountain Battles (2008) and All Nerve (2018); they also celebrated the 30th anniversary of Last Splash with an album reissue, extensive tour and appearances at Coachella and Riotfest, alongside shows with Foo Fighters and Belly.

THE BREEDERS Announce 2024 Australian Tour

Handsome Tours is delighted to announce that iconic alt-rock band, The Breeders will return to Australia for a quick tour of the east coast in January 2024.

The tour starts in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre on January 22nd before moving on to The Forum on the 29th and then up to The Tivoli in Brisbane on the 31st. Last spied in the country for Meredith 2018, these tour dates land just before The Breeders set off on a massive arena tour supporting  Olivia Rodrigo  in New York and Los Angeles, where a whole new generation of music fans will experience the magic of the band for the first time.

The Breeders announce Australian dates for January 2024

If you, or anyone you know, went along to see indie rock legends The Breeders on their Australian tour in 2018, you'd be well aware that the band were in scintillating form on that trip.

If you missed the chance to see them on that trip, we've got great news: the band will be back in Australia early next year and we reckon they're going to be in equally sensational form this time around.

They will be here just before they set out playing massive US shows in support of the sensational Olivia Rodrigo, and while they're in our part of the world they'll play big shows in New Zealand in support of a little band called the Foo Fighters.

Not that they need a big occasion to be incredible: The Breeders have been one of the best indie rock acts on the planet since we first heard them in the late-80s/early-90s. Sure, there's 'Cannonball', a genuine anthem, but across their five albums they've given us so much amazing music.

The band is comprised of a pretty classic line-up these days: the iconic Kim and Kelley Deal joined by founding bassist Josephine Griggs and drummer Jim Macpherson. With a line-up like that and a catalogue as great as theirs, a night with The Breeders is pretty much a guaranteed good time.

They’ll be playing Last Splash in it’s entirety as well as delving into the depths their awesome catalogue; it may be decades until we get to see them in action again, don’t take the risk!

The Libertines Announce 2025 Australian Tour

The Libertines have shared details of a three-date east coast Australian tour for April 2025. The tour will mark the band’s first shows in Australia in just over seven years, as well as their first ever headlining tour of the country with a full line-up, following a tour in August of 2004 which took place without co-frontman Pete Doherty . Tour dates and ticketing information can be found below.

The London indie rock quartet recently released their fourth studio album, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade . Prior to its April 2024 release, the band had released three singles from the album: ‘Run Run Run’ in October 2023, ‘Night Of The Hunter’ in December 2023 and ‘Shiver’ in January 2024. The album also features ‘Man With The Melody’, which the band co-wrote with Jamie T.

The Libertines – ‘Run Run Run’

The Libertines originally split up in 2004, shortly after the release of their self-titled second album. Following the split, both frontmen span off into new bands: Babyshambles for Doherty, and Dirty Pretty Things for Carl Barat . Doherty would remain a tabloid fixture for the ensuing decades, including stints in prison , being kicked out of rehab and drug issues that plague him to this day – telling Louis Theroux last year in a new interview that he was “a very sick man” .

Following their 2014 reunion and their 2015 comeback album Anthems For Doomed Youth , the band toured Australia for the first time with Doherty in 2018 – playing the first (and, to date, only) Sydney City Limits festival as well as headlining shows in Brisbane and Melbourne . Following the sell-out of their Forum Theatre show, the band also added a second last-minute show at The Curtin.

The Libertines Announce 2025 Australia Tour

The british rock band are touring in support of their most recent album, ‘all quiet on the eastern esplanade’, conor lochrie, conor lochrie's most recent stories.

The Libertines have announced their return to Australia.

One of the best British bands of their generation, The Libertines will perform shows along the east coast in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane next April (see full dates below). These will be the band’s first shows in Australia since 2018.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, September 16th at 10am local time. The Secret Sounds presages begin on Friday, September 13th at 10am local time.

Led by mercurial duo Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, The Libertines became one of the leading bands in indie rock and the post-punk revival in the early 2000s.

After their debut album, Up the Bracket , made them a band to watch, their self-titled second album catapulted them to wider fame, debuting atop the UK Albums Chart.

Doherty’s turbulent private life eventually led to the breakup of the band in 2004, but they returned a decade later, picking up where they left off with their well-received 2015 album Anthems for Doomed Youth .

One more Libertines album has followed since, with All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade becoming their second chart-topping UK album upon its release earlier this year.

The Libertines will visit Australia following a tour of the UK and Ireland this year. Their Aussie fans can expect to hear new material from All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade , as well as classic cuts like “Can’t Stand Me Now,” “What a Waster,” “What Became of the Likely Lads,” and “Don’t Look Back Into the Sun.”

The Libertines Plot 2025 Australian Tour

The tour marks the British band's first tour of Australia in seven years.

UK rockers The Libertines are preparing for their massive return to Australia. Today, the band announced their first shows down under since 2018.

The Libertines will return to Australia in April 2025, playing on the East Coast on the following dates: Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday, 12 April, Melbourne’s Forum on Tuesday, 15 April, and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Thursday, 17 April.

Tickets to all shows will be available on Monday, 16 September, at 10 am local time, with a promoter ( Secret Sounds ) pre-sale opening at 10 am this Friday, 13 September. You can find more ticketing information on the Secret Sounds  website .

After releasing 2002’s Up The Bracket and their 2004 self-titled debut, The Libertines went on hiatus, returning after ten years with 2014’s Anthems For Damned Youth . Earlier this year, the band released their fourth album and first release in nearly ten years, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade , which produced the singles Run, Run, Run, Night Of The Hunter , and Shiver .

In a review of their show at Melbourne’s Forum back in 2018, The Music ’s Bryget Chrisfield remarked, “The band's caterwauling sound and triple axe assault [former bassist] ( John Hassall 's on bass) is held together by the powerful drumming of Gary Powell , who looks like some kind of superhero up there.”

Chrisfield added, “What a night! It only serves to make us wish we were living in London when The Libertines were coming up in the scene! Although we may not have lived to tell the tale.”

Panhandle Australian Shepherds was established in 2017 with the aim to provide emotional support animals to a particular clientele. My only sister is former military and was provided a service dog after a tour in Iraq left her without hearing in one ear, with debilitating migraines, and like so many of our military, some difficulty acclimating to civilian life again. She and Hans, her dog, showed me what that partnership was able to do for her and how canine companionship can provide for a wealth of human needs. From my training in counseling, experience with my own therapist, and a life of hard knocks I was able to see the potential in the Australian Shepherd dog and set out to see if they could do what I thought they could. I am an avid supporter of both talk therapy and medication to serve those of us up against traumatic experiences, PTSD, CPTSD, Anxiety, Depression and the like. What I came to see is that, of course, these modalities are yet to be 'enough', but that an intelligent and intuitive canine companion can actually round out those therapies and treatments quite nicely. I am excited that our breed choice was the right one, but It isn't with pride, but with extreme gratitude, that I can report that our temperament testing and training protocols have been more successful than I ever imagined. I did not start breeding these dogs to be a dog breeder, I started this journey to provide for specific needs in my community of service men and women, first responders, teachers and therapists, and trauma and abuse survivors. No amount of success matters to me short of my clients' reports that they, and those they serve, are getting back out into their worlds, living fuller lives each day!

Sarah Chaney is an ASDR-registered Australian Shepherd breeder who is skilled and loving. Her main goal is to raise genetically tested. She breeds high-quality with low and medium Aussies for pet owners and focuses mainly on temperament when breeding dogs.
