The Oh Hellos (formed in 2011) is a brother-sister folk rock band consisting of Tyler Heath and Maggie Heath from San Marcos, Texas, U.S.

Siblings Tyler and Maggie Heath have been making their unique contribution to the folk rock world since 2011. However before forming The Oh Hellos Tyler had been writing and recording music himself, and released three albums “Let It Go”, “A Christmas Album” and “We’re All In This Together” since 2007. The pair began their musical partnership writing a song for their mother’s birthday in early 2011 and having enjoyed the experience continued their musical excursions together. The result was The Oh Hellos eponymously-titled debut album, which since has seen its single “Hello My Old Heart” appear on an episode of NBC’s “Parenthood” TV show.

The band’s follow-up album “Through the Deep, Dark Valley” (2012) garnered a significant amount of online attention for the band, through the independently released, self-produced nature The Oh Hellos adopt. It wasn’t long before the album became a top seller on Bandcamp and comparisons were drawn between themselves and Mumford & Sons and The Head and the Heart.

The Oh Hellos have drawn inspiration and influence from a diverse group of artists from Sufjan Stevens, Los Campesinos!, The Lumineers and The Middle East, often blending and blurring genre lines. In 2013 the band released their first Christmas EP titled “The Oh Hellos’ Family Christmas Album” with contributions from a whole host of musical friends that also tour and perform with the band.

Live reviews

“Eclectic folk rock” is how The Oh Hellos self describe their music. Health siblings, Tyler and Maggie definitely got that description right. They are quirky, upbeat and just make you feel good when you listen to their music, in fact, I dare you to not be happy when listening to one of their songs.

During their live sets, they are joined by a few more members to help them out; specifically, a bassist, drummer, accordion player, violinist, another guitarist, and probably a few more that I just forgot about. Despite the large number of people that crowd the stage, they all have great chemistry with one another, and are all clearly just sharing a passion for making and sharing music. My favorite song to watch them perform live is “The Truth Is A Cave/ The Valley (Reprise)” because from start to finish it is so upbeat. They get the whole crowd to participate in a clap, and they do it by clapping above their heads, and stomping their feet on the stage with a great big smile. I also really enjoy the raw, slightly raspy natural voice of Tyler, whose emotions give each song more meaning. The happiness is seriously contagious, and it is such a joy to watch.

Sibling folk/rock duo The Oh Hellos consisting of Tyler and Maggie Heath are one of the most unassuming bands on the circuit. They do not have an ounce of star quality yet this is part of their charm as the wonderfully down to earth mannerism aids the warm tones of their music and makes the live experience incredibly personable.

They have been making waves on the indie circuit following the strength of their first two albums and have amassed a sturdy following as they tour the small stages on both sides of the Atlantic. Accompanied by a couple of hand selected musicians, the whole show feels very DIY yet this makes it captivating as there is a real feeling that anything could happen and the band have the freedom to play whatever they like. They have clearly considered the setlist tonight and select the very finest of their early work along with a number of covers. A succinct closing track 'Hello My Old Heart' perhaps best demonstrates the bubbling potential of this outfit.

They're fecking amazing!

They're tight, and they folk'ed the living shite out of me.

I had the best experience, and they lived up to all of my expectations. I so much wish I was up there with them, cause they seemed to have so much fun, something they shared with every last one of us. They where themselves in awe of just how many of us knew the words of their songs, and I gladly sang along.

One thing in particularly was the last tune, where Tyler and Maggie sings alone with Tyler's amazing guitar play as their only instrument. Their voices where spot on.

And so what if there was a single note hither and thither out of place throughout the show. I surely did enjoy every little bit of it and was flying high as a kite as the gig was on and afterwards.

So thanks The Oh Hellos, for an incredible show.

The Oh Hellos put on a high-energy sold-out show at The Magic Bag in Ferndale. Their live music is much more raucous than their studio albums, with plenty of foot-stomping banjo and violin jams. The musicians appear to be having a great time, and their joyful attitude is infectious; the audience was singing and clapping along. The one bummer was that after the show we bought t-shirts and posters which we hoped to have autographed, but unlike many bands, The Oh Hellos did not come out to the merch table area to sign stuff. They were putting away their gear on stage but the bouncers at the MB were herding everyone out right quick, so basically you had to buy your merch and get out immediately. But the show was still really fun!

You know you're in for a good time when you're watching 9 band members with the biggest grins imaginable on stage. Doubling up on drums and with no less than 6 string players (including singer Tyler Heath), The Oh Hellos sound is as big as their home state of Texas. Tyler's sister Maggie provides the kind of harmonies that can only come with family singing. Their infectious charm and sense of fun belied the fact that this was part of their first UK tour.

Given the reaction of the Glasgow crowd, it certainly won't be their last.

This is my most favorite band ever. This was my second time seeing you all and it was absolutely amazing. You all are so great at preforming and creating a fun and engaging atmosphere. You’re driving beats and rhythms combined with your poetic lyrics make my soul so so happy. Family and Friends was a fantastic opener and I can’t wait to see them preform again as well as you all. Thank you for an amazing show :))))

I've seen the Oh Hellos at Floydfest and the Harvester. Each time they bring an incredible energy to the show. The Oh Hellos have the great ability to go from intimate, delicate and beautiful moments to massive drops of distilled wonder and energy. If you enjoy good music and have the means of going, do it.

THIS SHOW WAS ABSOULTY AMAZING. They were such AMAZING performers. They put out fantastic vibes and put in 110%. Please make sure they come to Ft. Lauderdale again because they were fantastic. Lol the only thing I could ask for is more songs even though they played like 17!!! ABSOULTY STUNNING.

Captivating and energetic. This band was a pleasure to watch perform. The sound quality was great, which was a pleasant surprise considering the size of the ensemble. So much fun. This was my first encounter with this band and I would definitely see them again.

I've seen The Oh Hellos twice this year, and both times were euphoric! Their concerts feature a great mix of high energy jams and deeply soulful tunes, all delivered with joy and passion! They obviously have a great time performing. Highly recommended!

The Oh Hellos are an American folk rock duo formed in 2011 in San Marcos, Texas, United States, consisting of siblings Tyler and Maggie Heath. They remain an independent band, having released four albums, The Oh Hellos, Through the Deep, Dark Valley, and Dear Wormwood, as well as a Christmas EP, The Oh Hellos' Family Christmas Album.. Initially finding success on music promotion website Bandcamp, the duo's music has since been featured on NBC's Parenthood. When playing live, Maggie and Tyler are often joined by a large ensemble of musicians as their backing band.

The Florida Gators won the 2024 SEC softball conference tournament on May 11 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama. The Gators defeated No. 5 Missouri to claim their sixth SEC tournament championship and tie Alabama for most conference tournament wins in program history.

The Gators earn an automatic bid into the 2024 NCAA tournament bracket, which will be revealed Sunday, May 12 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. We're tracking all the automatic DI softball qualifiers and conference tournaments here.
