Amazing experience... Taco was an amazing DJ doing a great job of hyping the crowd up. Then Vince came out and killed it just a great set. the stage design was like no other the rotating screens were really cool and it was nice that they put timers up so we knew when Vince would come out. Tyler's performance was just amazing he performed for 2 1/2 hours and he really is a great performer, he performed both old and new songs there wasn't a favorite of mine that he missed. The stage design was so cool with a huge tree for Tyler to stand on. Tyler really cares about his fans he sang happy birthday to this one dude which was so sick. The show was sold out so 2,400 people were all singing the words to his songs which was just amazing the best concert experience I have ever had I have to go see him live again.

Rex Orange County opened with dope beach vibes then later joined in on "Boredom". After Rex finished, Tyler carried the show alone reflecting the energy of the whole crowd. He is a lightening storm on stage. He said that one of his goals on this tour is to see the crowd dance and his beats strongly reflect that sentiment. If you find yourself lucky at one of his shows, do yourself a favor; wear sneakers and don't bring your drink into the mosh pit, you're in for a treat.

I loved every min of his performance.. I loved and appreciated the re-verb of ''tell these black kids they can be who they are'' means so much to us. And I know this isn't his favorite album and It didn't come out as this ''star studded'' album. But there's no one couldn't have said it better than Tyler at this time. So I want to thank him for that. Maybe he will finally be able to score a movie that would be so !!!!

Tyler, the Creator Announces 2022 North American Tour

In support of his summer album Call Me If You Get Lost , Tyler, the Creator is embarking on a North American tour that will begin in February and run through April 2022.

On the tour, Tyler will get support from frequent collaborator Kali Uchis, "Are You With That?" singer Vince Staples , and Texas rapper Teezo Touchdown - who is featured on the track "RunItUp."

Tyler, the Creator released Call Me If You Get Lost , the follow-up to his Grammy-winning Igor , back in June. It hit #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart in early July: thus becoming his second album after Igor to rank on top of the chart. Besides his album release and upcoming tour, Tyler recently gave a performance at the 2021 edition of Lollapalooza.

Not only is Tyler's tour a celebration for the rapper, but for his guests as well. In addition to Teezo Touchdown being featured on Call Me If You Get Lost , Kali Uchis is still riding the success of her highly-acclaimed 2020 LP Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) , and there's been buzz around Vince Staple's recently released 10-track self-titled LP.

Tickets for Tyler's 34-stop arena tour will be available to purchase starting Friday, August 6 at 10am local time via Ticketmaster.

Tyler, the Creator’s Tour Opener Was a Cross-Generational Triumph

By Jeff Ihaza

PHOENIX – Tyler , the Creator sits at the center of multiple generations’ imaginations. That much was clear last night at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where he kicked off his Call Me If You Get Lost Tour. Not since the cathartic early days of Odd Future has the 30-year-old rapper seemed this in command of an audience. The only difference is that now, in addition to an audience of teens enthralled by his most recent work, Tyler’s fan base includes aging millennials nostalgic for when he first came onto the scene and the parents of today’s youth, themselves enthralled by one of today’s most musically vibrant and energetic performers. Last night made for a detente among Gen Xers, millennials, and zoomers.

The entire show was still decidedly youthful. Opening act Teezo Touchdown ‘s performance left many of the older members of the audience with confused looks on their faces, but it was clear the kids loved it. The same can be said for the perennially underrated Vince Staples , whose set was a welcome reminder of the durability and longevity of his output over the past few years. Kali Uchis rounded out the openers, and easily gave Tyler a run for his money in terms of audience excitement. Uchis’ many years of consistency have paid off, as seemingly every teenage girl in the country is completely obsessed. The teens in Phoenix mouthed the lyrics to the 2015 cut “Ridin Round,” despite the fact that most of them don’t have any of the college-age memories associated with the track’s blog-era release.

That felt like a theme throughout the evening. Tyler’s catalog now features more than 10 years’ worth of music. He’s one of few living artists today that can say they’ve created adolescent anthems for kids in high school right now, as well as adults who were in high school a decade ago. So, when he emerged onstage — seated in that baby blue Rolls-Royce slowly rising from a platform beneath the stage — you got the sense that, for a moment, everyone in the sold-out arena got to channel their inner children.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

Call Me If You Get Lost is also something of a shift for Tyler, as he leans into a more sophisticated aesthetic. The loud pastels of the early OF era have made way for subtle, tastefully selected hues. The commitment to a more elevated simplicity shined through in the show’s set design. Pyrotechnics popped at the opening and closing of Tyler’s set, and he traversed the audience, from the main stage to a secondary stage styled to look like a meadow, on a giant prop yacht. Still, there was something elegant about how low-fidelity the set work looked. Like a room decorated with just enough frills, Tyler’s set design brought you into the universe of the performance without distracting from it.

No matter how engrossing the sets were, though, it would have been hard to upstage Tyler himself last night. The set was a reminder just how long he’s been in the business, and just how much he’s touched in that time. During his performance of the Goblin throwback “She,” the crowd made easy work of Frank Ocean’s entire verse. When he performed “IFHY,” from 2013’s  Wolf , the crowd erupted in a cathartic kind of ecstasy. Tyler’s credo, of making space for the misfits and outlaws, resonated more deeply than one might immediately think. You just need to be in the presence of the parents of teenagers letting out their frustrations to a song whose music video features Tyler in a make-believe dollhouse.

Tyler’s set featured a handful of emotional peaks that provide a sense of what he’s been able to offer young people these past few years. During “Boredom,” the crowd huddled as close to the stage as it could. This, it seemed, was the song that most moved them. And why not? This generation had a chunk of its teenage years robbed by a pandemic. So when Tyler raps about being bored in his room eating cereal, it simply hits different.

You could say that the entire show hit differently, in fact. It certainly never feels safe to say we’re out of the woods with Covid, but Tyler managed to pack the stadium full of joy in a way that has felt impossible these past few years. He closed the show with “Runitup,” a confident and confessional cut from Call Me If You Get Lost . It gave the show a feeling of triumph. No one thought we’d make it this far, and Tyler can relate.

Call Me If You Get Lost Set List: “Intro” “Corso” “Lean” “Lumberjack” “Massa” “Wusyaname” “Boredom” “911” “See You Again” “IFHY” “She” “Yonkers” “Bimmer” “Tamale” “I Thought” “Who Dat Boy” “I Think” “Earfquake” “New Magic Wand” “RunItUp”

Review: Tyler, the role model? On sincere and ambitious new album, Tyler, the Creator comes into his own

Tyler, the Creator

• Show more sharing options
  • Copy Link URL Copied!

A little past the halfway mark of Tyler, the Creator’s gripping new album, “Call Me If You Get Lost,” the Los Angeles rapper’s mom puts in a cameo that threatens to steal the show from her son and his other, far more famous guests.

Titled “Momma Talk,” the appearance takes the shape of a minute-long monologue in which Tyler’s mother, Bonita Smith, recounts the lengths she went to to protect Tyler (whose last name is Okonma) when he was a kid growing up in Hawthorne : “I’d kill a motherf— over this one right here,” she says, pride coursing through her words. “My son used to record me beating bitches’ ass.” She runs down a partial list of the people she “bossed up” on — “teachers, principals, mamas, kids” — then interrupts herself.

“Am I lying?” she asks, to which Tyler responds in his low, gravelly voice: “You have no reason to.”

It’s a striking endorsement of the cold, hard truth from an artist who made his name with willfully provocative hyperbole.

tyler the creator tour spots

Now a well-connected member of a Black creative vanguard that also includes the likes of Solange , Donald Glover and Issa Rae, Tyler emerged more than a decade ago as the scowling face of L.A.’s punk-inspired Odd Future collective — a teenage Eminem stan whose raw, rowdy music showcased a rogues’ gallery of unreliable narrators boasting about rape and murder.

On early records like 2011’s “Goblin” and “Wolf,” from 2013, you knew not to take Tyler’s words literally, even if you understood that they carried real pain.

In contrast, here he is at age 30 on “Call Me If You Get Lost” telling sincere, relatively plainspoken stories about the alienating effects of celebrity and about the pressure to form coherent political thoughts and, most vividly, about a furtive romantic relationship with the lover of a close friend.

What’s more, after years of feinting, he’s finally taking a clear moral stance: “I’m a bad person — like, I’m in the wrong,” he admits in “Wilshire,” the album’s stirring emotional centerpiece, in which he spends eight minutes sifting through the facts and the self-delusions of that complicated affair.

Yet “Call Me If You Get Lost” — Tyler’s seventh LP and the follow-up to 2019’s Grammy-winning “ Igor ” — isn’t the somber, stripped-back confessional you might expect; it’s not a millennial’s version of Jay-Z’s “ 4:44 ,” where hip-hop’s alpha braggart radically toned down his sound to ruminate on his reasons for cheating on his wife, Beyoncé.

Tyler, the Creator and his mom accept an award at the 62nd Grammy Awards.

Hosted, as Tyler puts it, by the ever-spirited DJ Drama, “Call Me If You Get Lost” instead aspires to one of rap’s most grandly theatrical traditions: the quasi-legal gray-market mixtape — specifically Drama’s beloved “Gangsta Grillz” series, which in the mid-2000s yielded boisterous, freewheeling documents by Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Pharrell and others.

Drama threads his signature exhortations throughout the album, alternately hyping Tyler up (“On this here stage tonight is something legendary,” he bellows to open “Corso”) and providing comic-absurdist detail (“A young lady just fed me French vanilla ice cream,” he notes in “Hot Wind Blows,” about Tyler’s world travels).

And though Tyler produced all the songs himself — a rarity among rappers — the music covers a huge amount of ground, moving from the creamy R&B of “Wusyaname” to the trippy soul-jazz of “Hot Wind Blows” to the grimy boom-bap of “Lumberjack,” which in classic mixtape form more or less cribs the beat from an existing track, in this case the Gravediggaz’s mid-’90s “2 Cups of Blood.”

Splashy cameos from Pharrell, Lil Wayne and Lil Uzi Vert further broaden the disc’s stylistic scope even as Tyler invites the listener deep into the private space of a song like “Manifesto,” in which he ponders his old antics (including a bunch of creepy tweets he sent to Selena Gomez) and frets over whether he’s “doing enough or not doing enough” to advance the cause of racial justice. In its blend of the spectacular and the hyper-personal, the result can recall “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” by one of Tyler’s heroes, Kanye West.

“Call Me If You Get Lost,” which is forecast to top next week’s album chart, also reframes Tyler’s relationship with the hip-hop mainstream. For years he saw himself as an outsider — “I never fully felt accepted in rap,” he said in his speech at the Grammys — and so he and the rest of Odd Future built a kind of parallel universe complete with clothing lines, TV shows and L.A.’s annual Camp Flog Gnaw music festival.

That universe attracted fellow misfits: In 2019, when Drake made a surprise appearance at Flog Gnaw in a slot many thought was meant for Odd Future’s Frank Ocean, the crowd infamously booed the pop superstar.

Yet social media and digital streaming, where Tyler flourishes, have shifted power away from the record labels and radio stations that once controlled hip-hop; now Tyler enjoys the type of industry prestige and commercial clout that earlier charismatic weirdos could only dream of, which might be why he seems so at home amid DJ Drama’s big-tent trappings. (Looking back, Tyler’s flirty 2019 interview with Funkmaster Flex — that stalwart guardian of centrist hip-hop values — seems like a crucial step in this album’s development.)

A man posing in a black cowboy hat and gold-trimmed black jacket

The wait is nearly over: Lil Nas X tells fans his debut album is finally coming out

Lil Nas X has dropped a Marvel-inspired trailer for his debut album and clapped back at homophobic haters who dissed his BET performance.

Indeed, he’s become sufficiently established that on “Call Me If You Get Lost” he’s the one arranging guest spots from quirky younger acts with devoted online followings: Teezo Touchdown, who adds emo-rap squeaks to “Runitup”; 42 Dugg, charmingly growly in “Lemonhead”; YoungBoy Never Broke Again, who yelps a wistful verse in “Wusyaname.”

In a way that’s a very Drake move — pulling close potential threats. But with Tyler the curating feels less opportunistic; he seems to take real pleasure in serving as a bridge figure between two generations. There’s a great series of backstage photos of Tyler and Lil Nas X at Sunday’s BET Awards, and what comes across is Tyler’s genuine admiration for the artists remaking hip-hop in his footsteps.

With the psychedelic “Igor,” Tyler’s innovation had to do with his formal slipperiness — here was a rap record, according to the Grammys, with basically no rapping on it — and with lyrics widely perceived to be about queer romance.

And he’s still tweaking the genre’s conventions in those ways — in a song like the nearly 10-minute-long “Sweet/I Thought You Wanted to Dance,” which mashes together sparkly R&B and throbbing reggae, and in “Massa,” where he says, “Everyone I ever loved had to be loved in the shadows.”

Yet the evolution on display on “Call Me If You Get Lost” is more elemental; he’s rethinking what kinds of stories he wants to use his music to tell and how much of himself his success obliges him to reveal.

“This is my perspective / This is how I feel,” he insists toward the end of the epic yet painstaking “Wilshire,” “I ain’t fabricate nothing / I kept it real.”

He sounds as surprised as anyone else.

Tyler, The Creator

Call me if you get lost 2022.

FALLING IN REVERSE Announces New Album 'Popular Monster', Summer 2024 U.S. Headline Tour

FALLING IN REVERSE make anthems that provoke and inspire. Unnervingly ahead of the pack and yet always decisively right on time, their mix of bombastic declarations and intimate confessions connect with diverse crowds worldwide. The rule-breaking, genre-busting, hellraising band delivers raw emotion with double and triple entendre like Molotov cocktails thrown at pop culture.

Since 2017, the band has continued to explode by leaps and bounds. The catalog has clocked billions of streams, several gold and platinum certifications, recognition from top tier press such as Pitchfork , Billboard , The New York Times and Forbes , and several No. 1 radio singles.

FALLING IN REVERSE has announced its new album — and first since 2017's "Coming Home" — "Popular Monster" . It arrives on July 26 via Epitaph Records . Additionally, the band has shared the video for the new single "Ronald (Feat. Tech N9ne And Alex Terrible)" . Watch it below

The two-times-platinum smash "Popular Monster" and the album of the same name couldn't have come from anyone else but Ronnie Radke , who produced the album alongside Tyler Smith . Both Kerrang! and Revolver magazine counted the charismatic Las Vegas-born frontman and bandleader among "the greatest living rock stars." The album arrives with several RIAA -certified singles, which have been released over time since 2018. "Popular Monster" is certified two times platinum. while "Zombified" , "Voices In My Head" and "Watching The World Burn" are all certified gold.

FALLING IN REVERSE 's catalog has accrued 5 billion streams, with 1.7 billion across all the album singles released to date. The catalog streaming remains robust at 35 million per week. Over on TikTok , the band has a stronghold, with 5.7 billion video views, with 4 million creations and a 1.5 billion creator reach.

FALLING IN REVERSE has also announced its summer 2024 headline tour plans, produced by Live Nation . The band will play 7,000-12,000-capacity venues with support coming from BLACK VEIL BRIDES , DANCE GAVIN DANCE and Tech N9Ne . Jeris Johnson and Nathan James appear on select dates. Full routing can be found below.

A special BLABBERMOUTH.NET presale will begin on Thursday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. local time and end on Thursday, May 9 at 10:00 p.m. local time. When prompted, type in the presale code "BBM2024" to access tickets before the general public. Check back here on Thursday for ticketing links to individual shows. General on-sale will be Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. local time.

This is the first announced leg of a planned world tour. Additional dates and cities around the world, and their support acts, will be announced soon.

"Popular Monster" is a defiant statement and triumphant victory for singer, songwriter, bandleader, and provocateur Ronnie Radke , who invented FALLING IN REVERSE inside a prison cell.

Radke fills the fifth full-length from FALLING IN REVERSE with invincible and irresistible songs that resonate across generations and genres. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Tyler Smyth ( I PREVAIL , LIGHTS ), "Popular Monster" is full of confessional angst, bravado, and clever wordplay.

Ronnie formed a series of pop-punk bands in Las Vegas as a teenager, culminating in the creation of ESCAPE THE FATE . The metalcore group's meteoric rise coincided with the singer's spiral into addiction. By the time he was sentenced to two years in prison, the band he started had moved on without him. Some fans, critics, and industry types figured his story would end there.

They were very wrong.

The gold-certified debut album from FALLING IN REVERSE , "The Drug In Me Is You" (2011),arrived less than two years after Ronnie 's release. Thanks to his formative fascinations with metal, punk, and hip-hop, he almost single-handedly revived rap rock with the ambitious "Fashionably Late" (2013). "Just Like You" (2015),debuted in the Top 5 on the US Rock chart. The grungy and atmospheric "Coming Home" (2017) demonstrated yet another adventurous side of Radke 's self-expression.

"Losing My Mind" and "Losing My Life" surprised the so-called "scene" all over again in 2018 when he became the first of his peers to swerve from the album format to standalone singles. "Drugs" explored the American substance abuse epidemic and channeled Ronnie 's own heartbreak.

The massive "Popular Monster" became Ronnie 's first No. 1 song on the radio and his first platinum single less than two years after its release. It was also the first No. 1 song on Billboard 's inaugural Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, which considers airplay, streaming, and downloads. "Popular Monster" eventually went double platinum in the US and triple platinum platinum in Australia. "Zombified" and "Voices In My Head" went to No. 1 back-to-back. "Voices In My Head" was also the No. 1 Song of 2022 at SiriusXM 's Octane . The unconventional, caustic, and super heavy "Watch The World Burn" dominated rock radio in 2023 and improbably became his first Billboard Hot 100 song.

As with the top-notch producers and directors Ronnie has hired to help execute his vision, he'd regularly surrounded himself with incredible live players, resulting in unforgettable performances with various lineups over the years. Radke owns the stage, whether taking the Warped Tour mantle held by MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE , AVENGED SEVENFOLD and FALL OUT BOY in the tour's final years, performing in prominent spots on every major rock festival, or on massive headlining treks.

"Popular Monster" , the album, marks another chapter in the ongoing story of an artist who continually beats the odds, surmounting obstacles (and adversaries) both within and without.

" Radke stands as one of this generation's most revered rock frontmen," wrote the esteemed Forbes magazine in a 2020 profile. "And maybe even one of the scene's last true rockstars."
