Every Time Taylor Swift Has Asked Security to Help Fans During ‘Eras Tour’

Every Time Taylor Swift Has Asked Security to Help Fans During Eras Tour

Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour has taken the world by storm, and while the three-hour show is all about celebrating her discography, the singer’s No. 1 concern is the safety of her fans.

Swift has even paused her show multiple times during her world tour to alert security of struggling fans in the crowd in hopes of getting them assistance quickly. The Eras Tour has featured cutting-edge technology with its lighting designs and laser effects, and Swift has previously discussed how her performance isn’t the only thing that requires a lot of planning.

Before embarking on her Reputation tour in 2018, Swift said she was deeply impacted after 22 people were killed as a result of a bombing during Ariana Grande ’s concert in Manchester.

“I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,” Swift told Elle in 2019. “There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe. My fear of violence has continued into my personal life.”

The Eras Tour has been an even bigger endeavor for Swift. In December 2023, it was reported that an estimated 4.35 million tickets had been sold across her 60 concerts in North America, Argentina and Brazil before she embarked on the international leg of her tour.

Keeping fans safe is no small feat, and in addition to copious amounts of preliminary safety measures and a top-notch security team, Swift takes personal responsibility for her fans’ experience — even when she’s on stage.

Keep reading to see every time Swift paused the Eras Tours to ask security to help with a distressed fan.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Swift interrupted her performance of “Bad Blood” during a May 2023 Eras show to call off a security guard who got into an altercation with a fan.

“She’s fine,” Swift could be heard yelling into the crowd, apparently frustrated by what she saw from her security team. The singer paused again to add, “She wasn’t doing anything,” before yelling, “Hey, stop” two more times.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Swift and her fans braved extreme heat during the string of shows in Brazil in November 2023. One concertgoer, Ana Clara Benevides , died of heat exhaustion before a Rio show.

Every Time Taylor Swift Has Asked Security to Help Fans During Eras Tour

Swift did her best to help fans, and during her performance, she repeatedly asked her off-stage team to provide water to the crowd.

“There’s people that need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back,” she said on stage during the Evermore set, pointing to a floor section of the crowd. “So whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a signal that you know where they are?”

“Someone in the front row, can you tell me yes or no to this question: When you guys are putting a bunch of flashlights up in a group, does that mean people need help?” Swift asked the crowd. “We’re at the end of the night, so if I see that again, I’m gonna try to point it out. Taylor Swift Mashes Up 2 New Songs for 2nd ‘Eras Tour' Show in Lyon

Some Swifties have been luckier than others when it comes to the surprise songs set of Taylor Swift 's The Eras Tour .

Since launching her record-breaking tour in March 2023, Swift has used the penultimate section of her show to perform songs across her entire discography that aren't included in the concert's expansive setlist. On occasion, however, Swift has used the portion of the show to debut special mash-ups of her most famous tracks.

Swift began the trend during a November 2023 show in Buenos Aires, combining "Is It Over Now?" and "Out of the Woods" from 1989 (Taylor's Version) . That same month, Swift revealed that she would be breaking her own surprise songs rule of only performing a track once for more of her international Eras Tour dates.

"I decided that in 2024, when we go back on tour, I'm just gonna open back up all the songs for surprise songs," she told fans during a show in São Paulo, Brazil, noting that her entire discography was "fair game."

Keep scrolling for a guide to every mash-up Swift has performed on The Eras Tour so far:

‘Is It Over Now?' and ‘Out of the Woods'

One month after 1989 (TV) 's October 2023 release, Swift surprised Argentina fans with a mash-up of songs from the album. Swifties immediately made a connection between the two tracks as both are rumored to be about the pop star's ex Harry Styles .

The vault track "Is it Over Now?" features the lyrics, "When you lost control / red blood, white snow." The exes, who were romantically linked from late 2012 to early 2013, famously got into a snowmobile accident in 2012, after which Styles was photographed with a bandage on his chin.

In the song, Swift also sings about sitting in a "blue dress on a boat," a nod to being photographed in a blue dress while on a boat not long after her and Styles' split.

"Out of the Woods," is also speculated to be about Styles and Swift's snowmobile incident, featuring lyrics such as, "Remember when you hit the brakes too soon? / Twenty stitches in the hospital room." The song's lyrics also make reference to the paper airplane necklaces they were each seen wearing during their brief romance.

‘Getaway Car' / ‘August' / ‘The Other Side of the Door'

After beginning to play Reputation 's "Getaway Car" on guitar during a February 2024 concert in Melbourne, Australia, Swift surprised fans by transitioning the tune into "August" from Folklore , which is included in the tour's main setlist. She rounded out the acoustic performance by adding "The Other Side of the Door" from Fearless (Taylor's Version) .

"I want to play one that you really want to hear, I want you to be happy," she told the crowd, per social media footage from the show.

Fans once again were quick to notice a connection between the songs as all three discuss infidelity. The lyrics to "Getaway Car" compare being stuck in a romantic situation with three people to being a "sideshow," while "The Other Side of the Door" asks the question if the other woman in a relationship was "worth the mess" it caused.

"August," meanwhile, is one of three Folklore songs that tells the story of a love triangle, including "Cardigan" and "Betty." The track follows the story from the perspective of a girl named August, with whom a boy named James cheated on his girlfriend Betty.

‘Come Back … Be Here' and ‘Daylight'

For her third Eras Tour concert in Melbourne , Swift grabbed her guitar to sing a mash-up of "Come Back … Be Here" from Red (Taylor's Version) and "Daylight" from Lover . While "Come Back … Be Here" tells the story of a person hoping to rekindle a broken romance, "Daylight" sees Swift discuss leaving behind the mess of past relationships after seemingly finding her perfect partner.

"And I can still see it all (in my mind) / All of you, all of my (intertwined) / I once believed love would be (black and White) / But it's golden (golden)," Swift sings in "Daylight."

It was during her third Melbourne show that Swift revealed she might repeat surprise songs throughout the remainder of the tour. "I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward, and I don't want to limit anything or say, ‘Oh, if I played this song, I can't play it again,'" she told fans, per social media footage . "So, from now on, I don't want to take any paint colors out of the paintbox [or] tools out of the toolbox."

‘White Horse' and ‘Coney Island'

Swift continued her leg of Australia Eras Tour shows in Sydney. During her first night in the city, Swift brought out her opening act, Sabrina Carpenter , to sing a mash-up of "White Horse" from Fearless (TV) and "Coney Island" from Evermore after Carpenter's performance was canceled due to poor weather.

The lyrics to both songs follow the endings of relationships after the people involved realize their romantic connection was not how they thought it would be or not how it once was.

A Guide to Taylor Swift's ‘Eras Tour' Backup Dancers and Vocalists

‘Should've Said No' and ‘You're Not Sorry' / ‘Peace' and ‘New Year's Day'

Swift performed her first set of double secret song mash-ups during her second Sydney Eras Tour show in February 2024. She began by combining "Should've Said No" from her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift , and "You're Not Sorry" from Fearless (TV) on the guitar. Both of the breakup tracks discuss relationships in which one partner was not faithful.

Swift followed up the mash-up by performing Folklore 's "Peace" with Reputation 's "New Year's Day," both of which see the singer analyze her romances. While "Peace" sees Swift question whether her fame is keeping her from maintaining "peace" in a relationship, Swift asks her partner to "please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere" in "New Year's Day."

‘Is It Over Now?' and ‘I Wish You Would' / ‘Haunted' and ‘Exile'

Swift performed another mash-up of 1989 (TV) tunes , "Is It Over Now?" and "I Wish You Would," as her guitar surprise song during Sydney Night 3 . The concert marked the second time Swift used "Is It Over Now?" in a mash-up with another track rumored to be about Styles, having previously done so in Buenos Aires in November 2023.

After performing the upbeat songs on her guitar, Swift headed over the piano to sing a mash-up of "Haunted" from Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and "Exile" from Folklore . On theme with many of Swift's surprise song mash-ups, both breakup tracks tell the story of realizing a relationship was not what it seemed on the surface.

‘Forever & Always' and ‘Maroon' / ‘Would've, Could've, Should've' and ‘Ivy'

For her final night in Sydney, Swift hit fans with two more secret song mash-ups featuring some of her biggest tracks. On piano, Swift performed Fearless (TV) 's "Forever & Always" with Midnight 's "Maroon." For the guitar secret song, she combined Midnight 's "Would've, Could've, Should've" with Evermore 's "Ivy."

The performances seemingly dispelled the theory that Swift performs her most emotional tracks while wearing her yellow surprise songs dress . Swift instead sported the green version of the dress, which she has also worn in maroon and blue, for Sydney Night 4.

Swift's official fan account, Taylor Nation, seemingly confirmed there's no correlation between her surprise songs dress color and the tracks she performs. "#SydneyTSTheErasTour, the past four nights with you have kept us on the edge of our seats! Thanks for bringing *the chant* back and crying with us during the mashups!" they tweeted after the show, adding, "We fear all the dresses now … ."

‘Mine' and ‘Starlight'

Swift performed a mash-up of "Mine" and "Starlight," from Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) , respectively, during her March 2, 2024, concert in Singapore.

"This has become my favorite part of the show because it's become very chaotic and it's become a challenge for me to think of new things to do for every single city," she said in her introduction . "And hope that I'm doing something that you guys might like. It's been a blast!"

‘I Don't Wanna Live Forever' and ‘Dress'

Swift's second acoustic number on March 2 mashed up "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," her 50 Shades Darker duet with Zayn Malik , and "Dress" from Reputation .

Swift's official Instagram went live to share the performance with her followers, many of whom think it is a clue for the arrival of Reputation (Taylor's Version) . Certain Swifties even pointed out that "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" came out in December, the 12th month of the year, and "Dress" is the 12th song on Reputation 's OG tracklist.

‘Long Story Short' and ‘The Story of Us'

Swift kicked off her March 3, 2024, acoustic set in Singapore with Evermore 's "Long Story Short" on guitar. Her number evolved into a mash-up with "The Story of Us" from Speak Now (Taylor's Version).

‘Clean' and ‘Evermore'

Swift's second surprise song on March 3 combined the 1989 (Taylor's Version) track "Clean" with Evermore from her 2020 album of the same name. The piano mash-up occurred moments after Swift announced the "final edition" of The Tortured Poets Department , which is called "The Black Dog."

"[These are] two songs about healing from a sky that ‘turned black like a perfect storm' and a ‘gray November,'" one X user pointed out about the song choices, quoting the respective lyrics. "This album is about heartbreak, but also about healing."

‘Death By A Thousand Cuts' and ‘Babe' / ‘Fifteen' and ‘You're On Your Own, Kid'

For her fourth show in Singapore on March 7, Swift performed two emotional mash-ups spanning four albums during the surprise song set. On guitar, Swift combined Lover 's "Death by a Thousand Cuts" with Red 's "Babe," two fan-favorite breakup songs. While "Babe" - which Swift originally wrote for Sugarland before releasing it as a vault track on Red (TV) - reflects on a lover's infidelity and broken promises, "Death by a Thousand Cuts" recalls the slow and painful deterioration of a relationship and is based on the Netflix movie Something Great .

On piano, Swift performed a mash-up of "Fifteen" from Fearless and "You're On Your Own, Kid" from Midnights , marking her fifth performance of the latter, which is now her most-played surprise song of the Eras Tour so far. When Swift began singing "Fifteen" in a different key than usual, fans began to speculate the emotional Midnights track would be coming next. Both songs' lyrics show Swift reflecting on the innocence of youth, although she wrote "Fifteen" when she was 18, and penned "You're On Your Own, Kid" more recently as part of her 2022 album.

‘Sparks Fly' and ‘Gold Rush' / ‘False God' and ‘Slut!'

Swift went for more mash-ups during her Singapore Eras Tour show on March 8. On the guitar, she opted for "Sparks Fly" from Speak Now and "Gold Rush" from Evermore . These two songs appear to depict opposite sides of a relationship. "Sparks Fly" is about the feelings expressed during the beginning stages of a romance while "Gold Rush" is the more realistic side of a crush. Swift sings about how she is jealous of a possible suitor and cannot be with them because they are loved by everyone.

For her piano songs, Swift chose Lover 's "False God" and "Slut!" from 1989 (Taylor's Version) . Both of these seem to have more sexual undertones. "Slut!" references the sl*t-shaming Swift received in the public eye over the years, and the lyrics of "False God" lean into promiscuity.

"Tim McGraw" and "Cowboy Like Me" / "Mirrorball" and "Epiphany"

Swift once again delivered two mash-ups in Singapore. For her guitar song on March 9, she quipped that she felt "nostalgic" since it would be her "last show for a while" until May, which led into "Tim McGraw." Halfway through, Swift began strumming the chords to Evermore 's "Cowboy Like Me."

Later, Swift took to the piano to mash up the two Folklore tracks of "Mirrorball" and "Epiphany."

"The Alchemy" and "Treacherous" / "Begin Again" and "Paris"

During her fourth and final Paris concert in May, Swift performed two mash-ups. On the guitar, she sang The Tortured Poets Department 's "The Alchemy" - which is widely believed to be about her romance with boyfriend Travis Kelce , who was in attendance - and Red 's "Treacherous."

For her piano song, she belted out Red 's "Begin Again" and Midnight's "Paris." (Swift also performed "Paris" during the first night in the city.) "When she says I'm so in love that I might stop breathing my heart melted because she literally is so in love," a user wrote via X , referencing the lyrics to "Paris."

‘I Think He Knows' and ‘Gorgeous'

For Swift's first May 2024 concert in Sweden, she mashed up the Lover and Reputation songs for her guitar surprise song. At one point, she sang, "I think he knows that he's gorgeous," which several fans believed was a subtle shout-out to boyfriend Kelce.

Days before the Sweden show, Swift jetted off to Lake Como, Italy, with the NFL tight end in between concerts. (Kelce did not make it to the gig as his Kelce Jam festival in Kansas City took place on the same day.)

‘Say Don't Go,' ‘Welcome to New York' and ‘Clean'

For the first time, Swift performed a trio mash-up for her second Stockholm, Sweden show. The piano rendition took place during the 89th show on her Eras Tour.

‘Message in a Bottle,' ‘How You Get the Girl' and ‘New Romantics'

As Swift kicked off the surprise song set of her final Sweden concert, she revealed that Max Martin was in the crowd. While the "shy" songwriter was not interested in coming up on stage for a duet, he did want to hear one of their early 2012 collaborations live. Swift did one better and came up with a "Max Martin medley" of three Red and 1989 tracks.

‘Come Back, Be Here,' ‘The Way I Loved You' and ‘The Other Side of the Door' / ‘Fresh Out the Slammer' and ‘High Infidelity'

Swift performed two mash-ups of three songs during her first concert in Lisbon in May 2024. The guitar one featured the first time on the Eras Tour that "The Way I Loved You" made the setlist.

Swift's piano mash-up of the TTPD and Midnights songs sparked fan theories that she is confirming the viral April 29 speculation .

"Did she just confirm where she was on April 29th … was literally my first thought," an X user wrote.

Swift mentions April 29th on "High Infidelity," which fans have inferred is about cheating and believe occurred in 2016 when Swift attended Gigi Hadid 's birthday party solo amid her romance with Calvin Harris . Days later, Swift went to the Met Gala. Her now-ex, Joe Alwyn , was at the fashion fundraiser that same night. Swift never addressed what allegedly happened on April 29 in any year.

‘The Tortured Poets Department' and ‘Now That We Don't Talk'/ ‘You're On Your Own, Kid' and ‘Long Live'

For Swift's second Eras concert in Lisbon, she gave them a guitar surprise song that she had never played live before in the title track from TTPD. After playing nearly the entire song, she launched into "Now That We Don't Talk" from 1989 (Taylor's Version ). Her piano mash-up of "You're On Your Own, Kid" and "Long Live" had fans in their feels.

Both "You're On Your Own, Kid" and "Long Live" have widely been thought of as Swift's songs dedicated to Swifties. In the Midnights track, Swift mentions friendship bracelets. The lyric inspired concertgoers to trade their own beaded baubles at Eras shows. Meanwhile, "Long Live" has been Swift's ode to her supporters harking back to her Speak Now album. ("Long Live" had been added to the setlist when her Taylor's Version came out in 2023 but was removed to make room for a TTPD section.)

‘Sparks Fly' and ‘I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)' / ‘I Look In People's Windows' and ‘Snow On The Beach'

During her first show in Madrid, Swift had the crowd singing along when she mashed up the choruses of "Sparks Fly" and "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)" on the guitar. For the piano portion, Swift performed a heartfelt rendition of "Snow On The Beach" and "I Look In People's Windows."

While in the middle of singing the chorus of "Snow On The Beach," the crowd went wild at the thought Lana Del Rey would pop up on stage to perform the duet. However Swift shut down the fans' dreams in the post-chorus, by saying "It's just me guys, sorry," before transitioning back to the TTPD track.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Relationship Timeline

‘The Prophecy' and ‘Long Story Short' / ‘Fifteen' and ‘You're On Your Own Kid'

For Swift's first night in Lyon, France, she surprised concertgoers with a song she hadn't yet played live: "The Prophecy" from TTPD . Swift performed the track on the guitar, blending it with Evermore 's "Long Story Short." Moving to the piano, the pop star mashed-up two songs: "Fifteen" and "You're On Your Own, Kid."

Fans were quick to point out that these songs may be a nod to Kelce. In "The Prophecy," Swift sang about her hope to find love and wondered if she'll end up alone. In "Long Story Short," Swift makes it clear that she "survived" that doubt-filled period of being with the "wrong guy."

Her piano number is also believed to be a tribute to Kelce. Fearless ' "Fifteen" describes dating "the boy on the football team," a lyric which has resurfaced since she began dating the NFL player. "You're on Your Own, Kid," from 2022's Midnights , prompted fans to trade their own friendship bracelets at Swift's Eras Tour shows - which is exactly what Kelce did to give Swift his number in summer 2023.

Last month, Tom released the official music video for the song "A Different Light" . The track is taken from Tom 's critically acclaimed solo debut album, "The Way Life Goes" , which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The new video, produced and edited by Joshua Smith , features fan-shot live footage of the #keiferband from the first year on tour (2013) through the most recent tour in 2022. Opening in somber black-and-white profiles of suffering souls, Keifer 's sultry vocals reflect the troubles of those in despair as shimmering instrumental vibrations build into an iconic key change. Within the first minute, the viewer is graced with an exalted perspective, and a fully technicolor, changed world. The anthem and video wind between contemplative compassion and explosive enthusiasm, ultimately landing on a perspective of hope and array of smiles where "everybody shines."

Keifer 's story begins as the singer-songwriter, guitarist and frontman of hard rock heavyweights CINDERELLA . His signature voice, guitar and bluesy, no-B.S. arena-shaking songwriting, played an integral role in moving records to the tune of 15 million worldwide. Tom Keifer is enjoying continued success recording and touring with #keiferband — Tom Keifer , Savannah Keifer , Tony Higbee , Billy Mercer , Kendra Chantelle , Jarred Pope and Kory Myers — releasing two critically acclaimed solo albums, the aforementioned "The Way Life Goes" and "Rise" .

"Rise" , released in September 2019 on Cleopatra Records , features the rousing, rollicking rock singles "The Death Of Me" and "Hype" . Both singles landed in the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40. Keifer 's deep-seated roots shine through to the very core on "Rise" , something that was embedded at the very heart of his music created during the multiplatinum CINDERELLA days.

"When this band came together, we all felt a bit like broken souls, each with our own unique story," Tom explained. "If you ask anyone in the band, they would all say this band came along at just the right time. Every human who walks this planet faces challenges and extreme adversity they have to overcome. As a band, we feel fortunate to be able to face those things together. There is a piece of every band member in the 'The Death Of Me' as well as throughout the entire 'Rise' album."

The common thread to each song on "Rise" is the intuitive interplay between each member of #keiferband , a tight but loose collective that's spent the last few years on the road honing their live craft together. "Rise" is the studio-bred equivalent of a band just now realizing the full scope of its powers.

"We were trying to capture the feeling of what people have witnessed live with this band," Keifer explained. "There's an off-the-rails, real live feel to 'Rise' — and that's what we were going for. It shows a real kind of angst and reckless abandon that we tried not to polish too much. And when we pull it back on the ballads, it's more about the emotion, the soul, and making people feel something in a different way."

"To me, the perfect rock and roll record is perfectly fucked up," Keifer said with a hearty laugh. "You try to make each record interesting and different. I don't ever want to make the same record twice, even though there's a common thread between them. Everything doesn't have to be perfectly in place, but there is a balance you try to strike. Sometimes there may be something about it that's technically not 'right,' but there's a vibe, an energy and an attitude to it that I always try to preserve."

In March 2022, Keifer said that he was "not prepared" for the 2021 passing of CINDERELLA guitarist Jeff LaBar . Jeff was found dead by his wife, Debinique Salazar-LaBar , on July 14, 2021 inside his apartment in Nashville. He was 58 years old.

"I've gotta tell you, you're never really ready for that kind of loss; you're not prepared to hear that kind of thing," Keifer told SiriusXM 's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" . "And everyone is still trying to grieve and process it. It's an emotional topic. Jeff was just such a passionate, amazing person, musician, human. He had a huge heart. And it was a tough one, man. It still is, for everybody."

Tom continued: " Jeff and I had a really good relationship throughout out career. Obviously, in bands there's times when you have differences; that's part of being in a band. It's true what people say about bands — that they're like a family, but, honestly, it's like that and even more intense, because there's so many different facets that inform the dynamics between bands; everything from business to creativity and everything in between. But despite any differences that we've had over the years, and the band in general, as I've always said, we've never aired anything like that.

" Jeff and I had a great relationship," Keifer repeated. "I loved Jeff — I really did — and have so many great memories of our journey together. He was amazing, and not just what he contributed to the music. Jeff had such a great sense of humor, and some of my favorite memories with Jeff are just kind of cutting up together on the bus. We were both big movie fans and could quote pretty much all our favorite movies. And we'd sit in the front lounge and quote 'Arthur' and 'The Big Lebowski' and 'Caddyshack' . He was just a really passionate, really fun guy to be around, and obviously, an amazing performer. He was a huge part of CINDERELLA .

"Like I said, you're never ready for that. And everyone is really honestly… I'm in touch with Eric [ Brittingham , bass] and Fred [ Coury , drums] regularly — everybody close to him — and we're still trying to process it. We really are."

Although CINDERELLA hasn't released a new studio album since 1994's "Still Climbing" , the band started playing sporadic shows again in 2010 but has been largely inactive for the last few years while Keifer focused on his solo career.

Taylor Swift’s Eras tour is one of the weirdest in history – here are 9 bizarre things that actually happened

A compilation image of Taylor Swift performing onstage and a mysterious shadowed figure at her Eras Tour show

Is Taylor Swift haunted? Some fans believe so after spotting an eerie shadowy figure at her Madrid show.

The Cruel Summer singer, 34, is currently taking her mammoth Eras Tour across the globe, making a stop in the UK from today with 15 dates at four of the biggest stadiums.

The tour – which boasts an extensive three-and-a-half-hour show at each date from the pop songstress – has seen plenty of bizarre moments, from storms threatening to shut shows down to Taylor accidentally swallowing a bug onstage and Taylor Lautner’s impressive backflip .

And with it kicking off at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium tonight, there’s sure to be plenty more weird and wonderful antics instore for UK fans – hopefully not any more earthquakes .

Here are some of the shenanigans we’ve seen on the Eras Tour so far, from a surprise relationship or two to a venue controversy that went wild online.

A mysterious figure appearing at her Madrid show

The tour appears to have taken a sinister turn with fans speculating a spectre was present at the last of her shows at Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabéu – or possibly a scorned ex.

A shadowed figure standing in the crowd of Taylor Swift's Madrid show

Multiple Swifties spotted a mysterious shadowed figure watching the show from an area inaccessible to the general audience, leaving many on social media speculating who it could have been.

Some jokingly suggested the mystery attendee was Kanye West , with who Taylor has had a longstanding feud after he interrupted her speech at the MTV VMAs after winning the best female video award.

Others suggested it could be her ex Joe Alwyn , with the couple splitting in 2023 and their break-up providing inspiration for her latest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department .

Scooter Braun was also among the suggested identities following his and Taylor’s widely-publicised dispute over the master files of the songs she produced with him under his company Big Machine Records.

‘That was billie eilish who couldn’t afford the ticket,’ X user Lustforlifestan cheekily jabbed, while Whiteh0tpeppers theorised: ‘Knowing Taylor Swift, she’s probably behind this and she’s teasing something.’

Taylor’s boyfriend Travis Kelce was thought by some to be the mystery figure, while others thought it had a more supernatural origin.

Taylor Swift sitting on a chair and singing in Madrid

Lovingcmila may have solved the mystery, writing: ‘It was literally a security man, i was near to that section and he was standing there and checking on us all the time.’

UK fans will surely be keeping their eyes peeled for more strange sightings as the Lover songstress kicks of her latest stretch of the Eras Tour at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.

It will kick off in  Edinburgh , where the megastar will take to the stage for three concerts over the weekend.

Taylor accidentally swallowing a bug

Bug-gate had Swifties in a chokehold after the singer accidentally swallowed an insect onstage in Chicago.

During the Evermore portion of her epic set, the star was snapped by fan  Catalina Garcia H  recoiling in horror before explaining her reaction by revealing she had eaten an insect.

‘I swallowed a bug, I’m so sorry,’ she laughed, while visibly cringing onstage.

‘Delicious,’ she joked, as the crowd roared with laughter while she tried to Shake It Off by repeatedly saying ‘it’s fine’ and ‘it’s just so stupid’ while attempting to spit out the bug.

‘Is there any chance none of you saw that?’ she asked the audience, before coughing a little more and admitting she swallowed the creepy crawly.

‘This is gonna happen again tonight,’ Taylor predicted. ‘There’s so many bugs. There’s 1,000 of them.’

The janitor cart theory actually being confirmed

A wild Taylor theory that she arrives backstage in a janitor’s cart was actually confirmed sending her fans into a frenzy.

Since the Eras Tour began, fans have been wondering how the singer secretly managed to slip backstage, with many suggesting she used a cleaning cart to enter venues incognito.

Well, this bizarre piece of trivia was confirmed in multiple social media posts as fans spotted the pop icon laying low in a caretaker’s cart while being pushed backstage.

Many implied that this seems to confirm the long-held theory among Swifties that Taylor is carried around in a suitcase – yes, really.

This began when a photo agency released a picture of several men carrying an enormous suitcase, which the agency said contained Taylor.

There has been no confirmation from Taylor that she was, in fact, in the suitcase, but many believe that it’s simply too bizarre to be false.

A couple got married in one of her crowds

There have been plenty of proposals during the Eras Tour, but one couple actually exchanged rings instead of friendship bracelets in the crowd.

@rene_hurtado Just Married 🥹 Story time coming soon! We are so tired from the excitement and are enjoying this time! @taylorswift @taylornation #glendaletstheerastour ♬ original sound – René Hurtado

René Hurtado and Max Bochman got married at Taylor’s Glendale, Arizona concert with the video of the nuptials instantly going viral on Tiktok.

How many couples can say Taylor Swift sang at their wedding?

‘I thought that was a good idea,’ René told Today . ‘I felt like, why not?’

She continued: ‘I died because I’m walking down the aisle to Invisible String and it was just so perfect.’

Storms of biblical proportions threatening shows

It wasn’t going to be sunny at every show – but some crowds had it worse than others with one of Taylor’s Sydney dates being battered by storms.

Taylor Swift fans in ponchos in the rain

In a post on X, Accor Stadium informed fans ahead of the show that start times had been delayed ‘due to  weather .’

It continued: ‘Stay undercover until further notice and follow venue screens and staff instructions.

‘Stay safe and remember to be kind to those around you.’

After around 80,000 fans piled into the venue ready to exchange friendship bracelets and dance the night away, at around 6pm – as Sabrina was due to begin her set at 6.20pm – those sitting on the floor and lower levels of the stadium were evacuated after lightning struck just 10 kilometres away.

After staff members rushed to mop up the water flooding the venue, fans returned to the venue ready for the show to get underway, but the  Sydney Herald  reported that support act Sabrina Carpenter would not be performing.

A baby was left on the floor in Paris

Swifties were left enraged after a baby was pictured lying on the floor of one of the star’s Paris shows.

A baby on the floor at Taylor Swift's Paris show.

After Paris’ La Defense arena revamp had fans in a frenzy, this quickly turned to shock and horror over spotting a very small attendee in the crowd.

In a picture posted to X, a baby was seen placed on the ground of the venue surrounded by a blanket and Swift merch.

The tot was thankfully wearing ear defenders in the sold-out crowd, but many fans aired their concern that they were lying down and could go unnoticed among the 45,000 screaming fans at the show.

A spokesperson for the La Défense Arena told Page Six that the ‘general terms and conditions of sale stipulate that all minors (without any age limit) holding a ticket for a concert at Paris La Défense arena must be accompanied by an adult.

‘Under 18 children remain under their legal guardian responsibility, it’s venue policy. For spectators with a young child in the floor, an alternative seating arrangement has been proposed but refused by ticket holders.’

There is technically nothing prohibiting a parent from bringing their baby along, although the website notes it’s unwise for those under four.

Keith Urban accidentally outing Bo Burnham and Phoebe Bridger’s rumoured relationship

There have been plenty of celebrity guests at the Eras tour, from Selena Gomez to Emma Stone, Shania Twain, and Emma Watson.

During Taylor’s Philadelphia show, Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman were dancing along to the songs – and accidentally caught Bo Burnham and Phoebe Bridgers kissing in the background of a video.

@keithurban we love ya @Taylor Swift 🫶 #erastour ♬ Style – Taylor Swift

After posting the clip to social media, Keith apologies for accidentally hard-launching the couple’s romance, admitting that he felt ‘awkward.’

‘Phoebe, I’m so sorry,’ he told Entertainment Tonight. ‘It felt very awkward. I felt bad. I was just digging on the concert! You never know what’s gonna happen.’

Phoebe had been linked to Bo since 2022 following her breakup with Paul Mescal.

Comedian Bo previously dated Lorene Scafaria for more than a decade until they reportedly split in 2022.

Taylor-ception

Among the celebrity guests on the Eras Tour was Taylor’s ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner , who joined her onstage at her Kansas City show.

resley Cash, Taylor Swift, Joey King and Taylor Lautner speak onstage

There was clearly no Bad Blood between the former couple, despite Taylor  re-releasing Speak Now , which is thought to  include songs about their romance .

Taylor (Lautner) even showered his former girlfriend with praise, telling the audience: ‘I just wanna say one thing quick – I respect you so much, not for the singer you are, the songwriter, the performer, but truly for the human you are.’

And there was another Taylor in the mix as Twitter users had also captured Taylor’s wife Taylor at Taylor’s concert.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CubKYv6AkRu/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=efc0d2df-2aff-43fb-87c8-043bc21d3664

Taylor (Lautner)  married Taylor (Dome) , who is a nurse-turned-influencer, in 2022. In the tale of three Taylors, the trio hung out backstage with Taylor (Lautner) posting on Instagram a picture of them recreating the iconic Spiderman meme.

Travis Kelce shooting his shot – and succeeding

After announcing her split from Joe, fans were quick to speculate who Taylor’s next partner would be.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kissing

She was rumoured to be dating The 1975 singer Matty Healy during the Eras Tour, but has since confirmed her relationship with American football legend Travis Kelce .

In fact, it was this very tour that brought the adorable couple together as he attempted to give Taylor his mobile number via a friendship bracelet. He really knows his Swiftie lore.

In a new episode of his New Heights  podcast , the athlete opened up about trying to meet the Grammy-winner backstage, but it didn’t quite go to plan.

‘I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,’  he told his brother, Jason Kelce .

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvKYmMqgLSk/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=b8205ac0-fbfb-42a2-8800-0588f433d23d

‘I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.

‘If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.’

When asked to clarify if he meant his jersey number or his phone number, Travis coyly replied: ‘You know… She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.’

However, their Love Story had a happy ending with his mentioning her on the podcast prompting the two to hang out, and eventually a romance blossomed .

But there was plenty to latch onto for anyone for whom that material might have seemed a little esoteric. She harked back to “classic” McLorin Salvant sets with a set list that included “One Step Ahead,” a song she’d learned via Aretha, even if you wouldn’t mistake their respective arrangements; “Alfie,” an example of the reimagined Bacharach that frequently makes its way into her shows; and “Riding High,” a lesser-revived Cole Porter classic that occasioned solos from different members of her trio, including her perennial pianist, the masterful Sullivan Fortner. The latter musician could often be found between songs leaning over to his right, clearly attentive to what McLorin Salvant was saying, and it eventually became clear that — besides perhaps being perpetually delighted by his frontwoman — he was looking for clues about what was coming next, since hers are not solidly set-in-stone setlists.

McLorin Salvant is not nervous to throw her own very poetic compositions in amid the numbers she draws from the fringes of the Great American Songbook. “Fog” in particular was a great one, drawing down to a typically sotto voce ending as her band dropped away to leave her as lonely as described in the lyrics. Her performance veered away from jazz more toward the classical sounds typically heard in Disney Hall as she took on a gorgeous song by the 17th century Elizabethan composer John Dowland. Also lending itself more toward formality was a selection from “The Three Penny Opera,” with the singer opening it up to a big, rowdy roar.

But the most bravura part of the set came when she pulled an audible audible and decided to close things out with a two-part sampling of Stephen Sondheim’s “Company,” which her audiences are sometimes lucky to get one excerpt from, but not two. The soul-scorching “Being Alive,” dramatic climax enough for a show like this, was succeeded by the more comedic — and exhausting — “Getting Married Today,” a multi-character mini-opera for which McLorin Salvant was breathlessly prepared to belt or spit out all of the parts, male baritone and female soprano alike.

That would have seemed like the definition of unfollowable (and a few handfuls of patrons who apparently came just for her exit during the intermission). But McLorin Salvant established prior to the break just “how excited I am to listen to Silvana,” a compliment that was returned by Estrada in the second half when she remarked that her predecessor on stage was “probably my favorite singer, and one of the most genuine human beings I’ve ever known.” Estrada then went on to extol McLorin Salvant as the type of singer who transmogrifies into different types of mystical creatures over the course of a show, “then (is) human again.”

Starkest at the very start, Estrada began her set with a striking, a cappella “Tonada de Ordeño” before picking up her signature accompaniment, a small, guitar-like, but four-stringed instrument called the Venezuelan cuatro, and being joined by a small cadre of musicians that included electronic keys and viola. Her bottomlessly belty voice speaks of anguish and earnestness, but amid that immaculacy, you could hear that Estrada is not just paying lip service when she says that she was also influenced by Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and some of the same bluesy sirens that had an effect on McLorin Salvant.

Two left turns proved to be highlights of Estrada’s set. She turned to English-language material just once, for a somewhat faithful but jazzed-up cover of Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner” that brought her whole band into the pop oldie’s formerly a cappella scheme. And, as everyone on hand might have hoped, she brought McLorin Salvant back onto the stage. The two powerhouses clasped hands for part of their performance together as they dueted on “Gracias a la Vida,” a song that was a staple of the catalog of Mercedes Sosa, the great 20th-century Argentinian singer Mercedes Sosa. (It’s a song Kacey Musgraves also recorded on her next-to-latest album.) Estrada took the lower part and let McLorin Salvant go high, though clearly either singer could master any part of any harmony. The lovefest extended offstage, with an audience giving thanks for them saying gracias.
