bad omens drop off tour

While Bad Omens are currently on the road , it looks as though they encountered a bit of drama with their planned tour with The Amity Affliction, Senses Fail, and Belmont. It’s been two days since the tour was announced on Tuesday (6th) and now it appears Bad Omens will no longer be joining the trek, which is scheduled to kick off on January 4th, 2019 in Anaheim, CA. According to Senses Fail and The Amity Affliction, the reason is due to Bad Omens being unhappy about the size of their name on the tour artwork.

Read the statement below:

“We have to let you know that Bad Omens have pulled out of this tour. They were unhappy about the size of their name on the artwork and felt the need to pull out the day after we announced the tour. Both The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail are working hard to find a replacement and we look forward to sharing that with you as soon as possible.”

Fans have instantly decided to troll Bad Omens’  Facebook by placing comments including:

“If you do a headliner with less than 10 dates y’all deserve comic sans 7 point font.”

Bad Omens hasn’t responded to this matter. However, Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen addressed the issue via Twitter, stating:

“Older bands bullying younger bands, both privately in deal points and publicly on the internet. cool story guys.  take notes from the movie business- bullying people in the industry will no longer be tolerated-no matter who your manager or agent is, or how “powerful” you are.”

Band Allegedly Drop Off Amity Affliction Tour Due To Size Of Name On Tour Poster

By Laura English

There’s been some drama in the heavy scene following the announcement of The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail ‘s co-headlining North American tour, which is set to kick off in early 2019.

The ‘Misery Will Find You Tour’ featured both Bad Omens and Belmont as support acts, but today news broke that Bad Omens have pulled out of the tour, allegedly because of their place on the official tour poster.

In a statement, the band said, “The terms of our deal to be the direct support act on this co-headline tour were negotiated prior to accepting the tour and they were not honored.

“Our team politely and professionally asked it to be honored before the tour was announced and they refused. Specific assets requested were neither sent or approved.”

Senses Fail announced the news via Twitter, saying, “We have to let you know that Bad Omens have pulled out of this tour.

“They were unhappy about the size of their name on the artwork and felt the need to pull out the day after we announced the tour.”

Fans have shown disappointment in all sides of the debate, with one saying, “Idk what’s worse, the fact that Bad Omens dropped off a support tour because their name wasn’t big enough on the tour flier (lol it was big enough, it’s not their tour) or the bullying and unprofessional way that The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail are handling it.”

Idk what’s worse, the fact that Bad Omens dropped off a support tour because their name wasn’t big enough on the tour flier (lol it was big enough, it’s not their tour) or the bullying and unprofessional way that The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail are handling it — Nick Durant (@NDurant8833) November 8, 2018

The Amity Affliction’s Ahren Stringer weighed in on this, saying, “People really want to believe there’s more to this situation but I’m telling you it’s really that simple. Bad Omens pulled out of our tour because of the size of their name on the poster. This is not a conspiracy.”

Ash Avildsen, the founder of Sumerian Records — Bad Omens’ label — retaliated to the mess, tweeting, “Older bands bullying younger bands, both privately in deal points and publicly on the internet. cool story guys. take notes from the movie business- bullying people in the industry will no longer be tolerated-no matter who your manager or agent is, or how ‘powerful’ you are.”

Bad Omens characterised their decision to leave the tour as “a matter of principle”.

“We aren’t going to be another young band that gets pushed around by older bands. Sorry if that doesn’t work for you,” they said.

“This public shaming campaign the bands have created online is both ironic and symbolic to the situation, as well as confirmation we made the right choice by leaving this tour.”

The statement came with the release of a tongue-in-cheek new merch item, dubbed the “tiny logo tee”.

Bad Omens drop off tour with Amity Affliction + Senses Fail because name on poster was too small [Updated]

Bad omens drop off tour with amity affliction + senses fail because name on poster was too small.

There are a number of reasons for a band to drop off a tour, including the recent partial toe amputation that forced High on Fire off their planned trek with Municipal Waste, but font size is certainly a new one. Yes, that’s right, Bad Omens have apparently dropped off their support stint on the newly announced Amity Affliction and Senses Fail co-headlining trek because they weren’t happy with the size of their name on the tour poster.

The “Misery Will Find You Tour” was just announced a couple days ago in a press release, with The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail co-headlining, along with support from Bad Omens and Belmont. But today, Both Senses Fail and Amity Affliction broke the news about Bad Omens, stating, “We have to let you know that Bad Omens have pulled out of this tour. They were unhappy about the size of their name on the artwork and felt the need to pull out the day after we announced.”

The statement continued, “Both The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail are working hard to find a replacement and we look forward to sharing that with you as soon as possible.”

MISERY WILL FIND YOU TOUR UPDATE pic.twitter.com/nlgtoVNhi7 — Senses Fail (@SensesFail) November 8, 2018

The North American trek kicks off January 4th in Anaheim, California, and works its way east before returning to the West Coast for a tour-closing show February 9th in Los Angeles. Full dates can be seen below, along with the original tour poster in question.

UPDATE: Ash Avildsen, the founder of Bad Omens’ label, Sumerian Records, has lashed out at the co-headlining bands for publicizing the supposed reason behind the news.

older bands bullying younger bands, both privately in deal points and publicly on the internet. cool story guys. take notes from the movie business- bullying people in the industry will no longer be tolerated-no matter who your manager or agent is, or how “powerful” you are. — Ash Avildsen (@ashavildsen) November 8, 2018

UPDATE #2: Bad Omens have released their own statement, also blasting the bands for “public shaming.” They did however, see the humor in all of this, releasing a new T-shirt with a tiny band logo on it. The full statement reads:

“We are always professional and respectful with the bands that we tour with. Anyone that’s toured with us can attest to that. We are not a band that creates problems or ever finds itself involved in “drama”. With that being said the last thing we wanted to do was make a big deal out of our departure from the tour with Senses Fail / Amity Affliction when announcing that we would no longer be on it.

But due to both Senses Fail and The Amity Affliction’s attempts to publicly drag our name in the mud along with all of the online bullying they’ve not only welcomed but encouraged – they’ve forced our hand.

The terms of our deal to be the direct support act on this co-headline tour were negotiated prior to accepting the tour and they were not honored. Our team politely and professionally asked it to be honored before the tour was announced and they refused. Specific assets requested were neither sent or approved. After all of this and the tour still going live we did our best to remedy the situation to stay involved and we were met with total disrespect.

At this point it was a matter of principle. We aren’t going to be another young band that gets pushed around by older bands. Sorry if that doesn’t work for you. This public shaming campaign the bands have created online is both ironic and symbolic to the situation, as well as confirmation we made the right choice by leaving this tour.

I grew up listening to Senses Fail and I never imagined they would stimulate this kind of bullying or shaming over something so trivial – this unprofessional and ugly behavior is highly disappointing. None the less we wish the bands the best on their tour, and we apologize to anyone we’ve disappointed by dropping off the tour.

Standing up for yourself in any type of relationship, whether business or personal, is something Bad Omens believes in. Sometimes that means people get upset, hence having to write this.

We hope you enjoy our new shirt design…”

Holy. Sh*t. Without a doubt the best show i’ve been to this year. Even though Noah was feeling under the weather he put on a phenomenal performance. Their music never fails to amaze me. The amount of raw talent that these guys have is absolutely mind boggling.

How Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Masters at Augusta National

Masters 2024 — final-round leaderboard & results

Scottie Scheffler is the 2024 Masters champion, securing his second major and second Masters (2022) at Augusta National.

Playing partner Collin Morikawa faltered at the turn to drop out of contention, with major debutant Ludvig Åberg claiming an impressive outright second.

Earlier, Tiger Woods (+16) shot 77 on his 100th Masters round.

Final Leaderboard:

  • 1: SCHEFFLER -11 (68)
  • 2: Åberg -7 (69)
  • T3: Morikawa -4 (74)
  • T3: Homa -4 (73)
  • T3: Fleetwood -4 (69)

When Max Homa is going into the final round in 3rd or better, how does he do - and what stat can Max fans lean on for Sunday ❓

On tour, Homa some pretty remarkable numbers:

  • 8 instances going into final round 3rd or better
  • 68 or better, six times on a Sunday

But this is his first time in this position in a major.

Homa leads the field in strokes-gained approach, had decent strokes-gained putting in rounds 2 and 3, yet is on a 32-hole birdie drought.

But tides can change quickly for an elite iron player at Augusta.

Can the double-digit streak continue?

Can the double-digit streak continue?

Six years in a row with a double-digit under-par winner streak is on the line. Do we get there today ❓

It is in fact the longest streak in Masters history. I think with a little less wind and more approachable pins, -10 is highly likely and it certainly gets you in our first Masters playoff since 2017.

Watch out for Homa's approach work

What stats are the leaders this week excelling in - anything stands out ❓

Max Homa leads the field in strokes gained approach, but hasn't made a birdie in 32 holes. He hasn't had a negative SG putting round this week... and is only two back.

If he strikes it like he has for 3 days, he's going to put himself in great positions repeatedly.

There's still a bit of time before the fourth-round action gets under way at Augusta, which is at 9.15am ET to be precise.

So why not give this a read from our excellent golf guru, Justin Ray , on day three at The Masters:

  • Scheffler's brilliance around the green
  • A first since 1936?
  • Morikawa and the third leg of the slam
  • Aberg aiming for a Masters first

The pin positions have been released for the final round of the 2024 Masters. What do you make of these?

The 13th looks a peach - which I can say because I'm not trying to play it. Some of it looks brutal, others look like they should bring a smile.

Just as it should be on Sunday around Augusta.

Well, now we're 54 holes down the line and with just 18 left, let's revisit and see whether they have it now. The leaders are below (probability after 36 holes):

Which Augusta will await the players on Sunday?

Which Augusta will await the players on Sunday?

Augusta National was a fascinating place on Saturday.

After the wind and rain of the opening two days of the 2024 Masters, yesterday was bathed in sunshine with slightly more forgiving gusts - and with that, the course dried out at a rapid pace.

That created a monster of a different kind and at one time on Saturday afternoon, even the leaders were struggling to manage it.

There are some suggestions the course may be given a helping hand ahead of Sunday to ease it up and let the players duke it out, but it'll be fun to see how that is tackled as much as the play itself.

Day three losers: Ryan Fox

Day three losers: Ryan Fox

Few will have taken their seat in the clubhouse on Saturday evening and had such a profound sense of what might have been.

New Zealander Ryan Fox was three-under for the tournament after birdies at each of the first three holes yesterday. Sadly from there, the 37-year-old suffered four successive bogeys from 7 through 10, and dropped three shots on the final two holes to finish with a five-over 77.

The silver lining is that leaves him tied-26 and with 18 holes to secure a better finish than his Masters debut last year, when he finished... tied-26.

Day three losers: Tiger Woods

Day three losers: Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods was adamant he still had a chance of winning the Masters heading into moving day, and he was just about close enough to at least contemplate a charge.

He had also just made history with that 24th consecutive Masters cut made.

But in the end, the body and mind fell short. The regular littering of bogeys - across 10 holes and including doubles at 7 and 8 - led to an 82: the highest round of Woods' glittering majors career.

It happens. The fact Woods made the cut was an achievement in itself, as will playing his 100th round at the Masters today. So maybe he was a default winner on the day after all?

Day three losers: Bryson Dechambeau

Day three losers: Bryson Dechambeau

I have to say, Bryson DeChambeau 's stunning third shot on the 18th was a magic moment of moving day. Given it was basically the final shot of the day, it also set a lot of narrative from that moment to when the action restarts today.

But that final shot also masked what was a poor day for the LIV golfer, who dropped shots on six holes including a double-bogey on the 15th. That came in the middle of dropping five shots on six holes from 11 to 16.

DeChambeau was tied for the lead at the start of Saturday and is now four shots of Scheffler. He'll be fun to watch today, of course. But it may well be that yesterday cost him a genuine shot at this year's green jacker.

Day three winners: Max Homa

Day three winners: Max Homa

Our only winner who went round in over-par yesterday and yes, there was a bit of thought as to whether Max Homa should make this particular cut.

But Saturday was rarified air for the likeable 33-year-old and in that context, his round of 17 pars and a solitary bogey at 12 was the level of consistency required on moving day. For Homa, standing still would do when it would've been so easy to move backwards.

A reminder that Homa's best finish in his four previous Masters was tied-43 last year. Homa's Saturday win was giving himself a shot of winning it today.

Next, the Saturday losers...

Day three winners: Ludvig Aberg

Day three winners: Ludvig Aberg

It could have been even better for Ludvig Aberg , that's true. Bogeys at 14 and 15 saw the debutant Swede end with a two-under 70 just as he was hitting the front.

Those are the growing pains when you're 24 years old and heading round Augusta for your first Masters.

But make no mistake, Auberg's excellent start to 2024 is continuing at the Masters. Following up his 69 on Friday with a third round that saw him -3 for the front nine, made him one of the stars of Saturday.

Day three winners: Scottie Scheffler

Day three winners: Scottie Scheffler

Yes, no prizes for this one - and perhaps things are still a little closer than many predicted.

But there was a moment on Saturday where Scottie Scheffler was having to process a double-bogey six at 10, followed by another bogey at 11, with others keeping their heads above him on the leaderboard.

If Scheffler does indeed go on to win his second Masters, the eagle he produced at 13 may well be a defining moment. It got everything back on track and certainly took his moving day back into win territory with a 71.

Day three winners: Chris Kirk

Day three winners: Chris Kirk

Easy one this, given Chris Kirk his a Saturday-best 68 to take him to +1 heading into the final day.

Five birdies including a three on 18 means the 38-year-old Georgia resident has an excellent chance to top his best Masters finish of tied-20 in 2014, on his fifth appearance at the tournament.

Day three winners: Xander Schauffele

Day three winners: Xander Schauffele

Current world No.5 Xander Schauffele had ticked along with a couple of 72s, each featuring a couple of birdies and a couple of bogeys.

Come Saturday, Schauffele eradicated the dropped shots and posted a two-under 70 to move within five of the lead - and certainly striking distance of the leading group.

The 30-year-old has been a high finisher around Augusta in recent seasons. He showed that experience yesterday and may well do the same again on Sunday.

Day three winners: Collin Morikawa

Day three winners: Collin Morikawa

Moving day was summed up perfectly by Collin Morikawa .

Having quietly gone about his business in the opening two rounds, four birdies in his front nine yesterday took the 25-year-old in among the leaders.

A perfectly level back nine was far from spectacular, but his three-under 69 it was exactly what was needed to give Morikawa the ideal platform ahead of today's final round.
