Carnival Sunshine’s 2025 Itineraries from Norfolk Open

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that its first series of year-round voyages from Norfolk, Virginia are now open for sale. These include voyages aboard Carnival Sunshine from February 18 through April 2025. Further itineraries to round out the rest of the year will open for booking in the coming months.

“Carnival Sunshine is the perfect ship to usher in this next step for service expansion from Norfolk’s Half Moone Cruise Terminal, and as we work closely with city and port officials on our plans to increase from seasonal to year-round operations, we’re delighted to open these sailings for sale, so guests from all over the southeastern U.S. can start doing some planning of their own for 2025,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We’ve been sailing from Norfolk since 2002, and we’re pleased to expand our offerings from this historic, charming community while strengthening our support of the local economy.”

Sunshine will rotate between six and eight-night sailings, visiting destinations including Nassau, Freeport, Bimini, Amber Cove, Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Princess Cays.

Eight-night Caribbean sailings:

• Amber Cove, Grand Turk, Princess Cays
• Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove

Carnival Sunshine accommodates over 3,000 guests and is expected to bring around 100,000 guests to Norfolk in 2025. The ship features the WaterWorks aqua park, the Serenity adults-only sundeck with waterfall, Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Alchemy Bar, RedFrog Pub, and Italian restaurant Cucina del Capitano.

Year-round voyages are the next step in an operational expansion for Carnival in Norfolk, as city and cruise line leaders continue to discuss necessary terminal and port improvements to support a further expansion. Last month, Carnival announced plans to offer a six-month series of four to 10-night voyages aboard Carnival Magic in 2023.

Day 4 of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials featured two of Team USA's biggest athletes who have their eyes on gold in Paris.

Caeleb Dressel and Katie Ledecky competed in the prelims at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Tuesday. The early schedule included prelims for five events with more action to come Tuesday night.
