Edinburgh tours for primary schools

old-edinburgh-tours-for-schools

Take your learning outdoors and into old Edinburgh!

We believe there's no better way to learn about old Edinburgh than to be IN the Old Town.   Our tours for Edinburgh schools have been expertly designed by our tour guide, a primary teacher with over 25 years of experience as a primary teacher.  Your learners will hear stories, see sights, and use archive maps, images, and documents.  We currently offer activity tours on Castles, Old Edinburgh, Mary, Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites, and also a tour which focuses on life for Edinburgh's poorest Victorians.

£3 per pupil (some tours add an additional 50p payment to City of Edinburgh Council for the use of Greyfriars Kirkyard.

Led by a qualified teacher with PVG certification.

"The tour lasted for two hours but the time flew by with Mr Howie telling tales of old and providing the children (32 of them!) with a selection of primary and secondary sources so they could be the history detectives and investigate dark goings on with torture, body snatchers, ‘rubbish’ walls, explosions, Royal visits and quite a bit about poo too. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough for any educator studying the local history of this city with children at first or second level (ks1 and ks2). Reliable and unreliable sources? Check! Primary and secondary sources? Check! Compare and contrast society then and now? Check! Interpret historical evidence? Check! The tour that really does tick all the boxes. And it’s fun too!"  MsFMorse, Tripadvisor, March, 2022

What our guests are saying

Excellent attention to detail and helpful access.

We are a five-star rated on tripadvisor tour company

I am a wheelchair user and my travel agent booked this tour because she knew I was a history buff. My experience with Robert I think started almost immediately. He started communicating with me via Viator and asking what I needed in terms of access and what interested me so that he could tailor the tour to my needs. We met at the hotel and he had a rough route planned out. He tweaked this slightly according to our needs. The end result was an informative and fun tour which we very much enjoyed. I don’t feel as if I missed out on anything and was very happy with our tour.

Tripadvisor review by Kirsty T  - August, 2023

BEST Tour Ever!

Our private tour of Old Edinburgh with Robert Howie was AMAZING! Best tour each of us has ever been on. Robert was engaging, knowledgeable, funny, and tailored the tour to our interests. We were hanging on his every word and didn't want the tour to end. So glad we saw Old Edinburgh this way. Thank you Robert!

Please consider leaving us a review

Every review you leave makes a huge difference to our company.  we're a very small company and the edinburgh tours market is incredibly competitive.  we really do appreciate your kindness in leaving a review on either tripadvisor or google.    please, a small plea from us; if you're thinking of booking a tour with us, please book directly on this website .  a direct booking with us (rather than on tripadvisor, allows us to use greater flexibility with any requests you may have and you have all the security and benefits you'd have if you booked through a third-party..

A perfect spooky treat for the family just before Halloween!! our tour guide was brilliant! she was very enthusiastic and got all the group joining in. Will definitely do it again!

Our guide was amazing. They went by the name James Barry. When we come back, we are definitely going to take the tour again and would love it if James could be our guide again. Lovely service. Amazing body language while telling stories. Well done.

Fantastically fun and spectacularly spooky evening walk full of historical stories and ghost tales with tour guide Soldier Jock who was very engaging, interesting yet friendly - ish! Would highly recommend

We was lucky enough to have Dr. Knox as our guide. He was fantastic. Made sure he spoke to everyone on the tour individually. Made fun of everyone. His storytelling and humour was just perfect. The tour was fascinating especially the underground bit at the end.

We went on the night tour with Soldier Jock, and what a brilliant time we had! Jock was informative and captivating with his stories, and there was a great blend of humour and horror on the tour. It was so interesting seeing a side of Edinburgh that's a lot darker than you first expect. Definitely recommended - thanks again, Soldier Jock!

15 Best Edinburgh Tours

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and has been for nearly seven centuries.

Not surprisingly, in many ways, it’s considered the heart of the country and is the premier center for education, arts, literature, and engineering.

If you’re looking to relax on a white-sand beach and sip an umbrella drink, it’s probably not a wise destination choice, but for lovers of history and culture, it’s well worth a visit.

The city attracts more than a million visitors annually from around the world; with so much to see and do, you won’t have trouble filling your itinerary.

Below are 15 of the best tours of Edinburgh.

1. Walking Tour of Historic Old Town

Old Town Historical Walking Tour

If you like exploring historic icons, getting some fresh air and stretching your legs, this walking tour of the city’s historic Old Town district is a great way to kick off your Edinburgh adventure.

Your guide will lead you to places where buses and taxis can’t go and you’ll get a professional narration about the historical significance of the things you’re seeing.

The tour lasts about 90 minutes and will give first-time visitors a great overview of the city.

Unfortunately, it isn’t open to children younger than five. Remember to dress appropriately, as Scotland is noted for its cool, windy, and often rainy weather.

2. Ghostly Underground Vaults Tour

Ghostly Underground Vaults Tour

With a history dating back countless centuries, it’s no wonder that Edinburgh is home to more than a few eerie tales. On this tour of its underground vaults, you’ll learn about them in the creepiest place of all.

The city’s vaults are one of its most popular attractions. This quick 75-minute tour will get you and your companions up close and personal with these macabre relics.

The tours are given during the day because otherwise, it’d be entirely too spooky.

The vault’s history is an amazing slice of Edinburgh; though they started out as storage areas, they became residences in the 17th century for the poorest of the city’s inhabitants.

3. Loch Ness, Glencoe and Highlands Tour from Edinburgh

Loch Ness

Whether you believe in the legend of the Loch Ness Monster or not, this packed combo-tour is an excellent way to combine three of the area’s most popular attractions into one convenient tour.

It’s a full-day excursion which will lead you through some of the country’s most beautiful scenery, and it starts and ends in Edinburgh.

Highlights include the majestic Stirling Castle, perched atop a rocky precipice and the one-time home of much of Scotland’s royalty.

Views of the vast Highland plains, Loch Ness and Loch Linnhe are included, as is a lunch stop in Ft. William where you’ll enjoy some hearty, traditional fare.

4. Skip-the-Line Ticket and Guided Tour of Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle

This Edinburgh Castle ticket and guided tour combo allows guests to skip the lines like VIPs, which can save a lot of time if you’re visiting on a busy day.

The 1 ½ -hour tour includes unrestricted views of the surrounding city from the castle’s heights. Your guide will give you an amazing overview of the castle’s history, much of which is treacherous and bloody.

Despite its age, you’ll hear many accounts of the lives of the people who lived behind the castle walls, from royalty and soldiers to common laborers.

It’s an iconic slice of Scottish history that you won’t want to miss.

5. Harry Potter Walking Tour

Edinburgh: Harry Potter Walking Tour

Harry Potter is big business and a recognizable icon the world over. For fans of all things Harry, this two-hour walking tour is one that you won’t want to miss.

Author J.K. Rowling purportedly wrote much of the Harry Potter books in Edinburgh, so for those aspiring authors out there, this tour may provide some motivation.

Tour stops include many city sites that inspired the author to create her unforgettable characters and their dwellings.

High Street, Lord Voldemort’s tomb, and Hogwarts School are all included; you’ll learn how Edinburgh’s real history played a role in the story’s themes and setting.

6. 1-Hour Edinburgh Vaults Tour

Edinburgh 60-Minute Vaults Tour

Edinburgh’s vaults are one of the city’s most eerie sites, and if you’d like to see them in a rather quick tour, then this 60-minute option is perfect.

Along with your guide, you’ll descend below the city streets into this subterranean labyrinth of narrow passageways that in centuries past was the realm of the city’s poorest down-and-outers.

According to local lore, the vaults are haunted; when you hear stories about some of the inhabitants, you’ll believe it.

The candlelight reflecting off the dripping stone walls will drop your blood temperature a degree or two, and the tour’s short length will leave plenty of time for other adventures.

7. Loch Ness and the Highlands with Hotel Pick-Up from Edinburgh

Loch Ness & The Highlands

This full-day tour includes pickup and drop-off to and from your Edinburgh hotel and stops at two of the region’s most unforgettable attractions.

The tour includes views of the monument built to commemorate William Wallace’s contribution to Scotland, and Stirling Castle as well.

From there you’ll visit the Highlands, the Pass at Glencoe, Loch Leven and Loch Ness.

Guests will have a chance to relax on the shores of Loch Ness, and stops for coffee and lunch are scheduled as well, though their cost isn’t included.

8. Edinburgh’s Darker Side Walking Tour

Edinburgh Walking Tour: The Dark Side

If you’re up for meeting the restless souls of some of the city’s most unforgettable long-dead characters, then this fun and spooky walking tour would be a great way to spend a few hours.

Tales of cannibals, grave robbers, unsolved murders, public witch burnings and corpse snatchings are just a few of the somber tales you’ll hear along the way, but be prepared for your fair share of laughs too.

The two-hour tour brings the past to life like few others and is available in English, German and Spanish.

Refreshments are not included, and remember to dress for the weather.

9. Royal Yacht Britannia Ticket and Audio Guide

Royal Yacht Britannia

For much of its life – spanning nearly a half a century – The Royal Yacht Britannia carried the English Royal Family to all corners of the world. Many of the distant lands it visited were part of the country’s vast colonial empire.

The luxurious yacht is now moored in Edinburgh’s Port of Leith.

The cost of admission includes an audio guide available in dozens of languages; it’ll give you a fascinating narration as you stroll among the yacht’s exhibits.

Most of what you’ll see is original, and highlights include the royal bedrooms, sun deck, and the impressive engine room.

There’s a quaint café on board as well if you’d like to stop for some tea, coffee, or a fresh scone.

10. History of Whisky and Sampling Tour

Edinburgh: History Of Whisky Tour And Whisky Tasting

Unless you’ve sworn off drinking, you’d be remiss to forgo a foray into the history of Scotland’s whiskey.

Scotch and Scottish whiskey are famous the world over, and for those interested in sampling some of the divine nectar, learning how it’s made, and understanding just how important it is, this tour is a must.

Tastings at four of the city’s most noted distilleries are included. You’ll learn the finer points of tasting the offerings, each of which has surprisingly unique characteristics that you may not otherwise notice or appreciate.

It’s best not to show up on an empty stomach and is a must for budding whiskey enthusiasts.

11. 4-Hour Pub Crawl with Drinks Specials

Pub Crawl

Edinburgh comes alive at night with drink-filled revelers of all stripes.

Its pubs, restaurants, and clubs are great places to meet locals and like-minded travelers, and for those up for a four-hour pub crawl, this tour would be a great choice.

Guided by your nightlife savvy local guide, you’ll hit many pubs that are off the beaten path.

From chic and contemporary to grungy and seedy, you’ll hit a sampling of the city’s watering holes and have a great time along the way.

The four hours will fly by, and at many of the stops, you and your companions will get free or reduced priced drinks.

12. Walking Tour of Old Town Breweries with Tastings

Old Town Brewing Heritage Walking Tour

Just like whiskey, beer has been a staple of the Scottish diet and culture for centuries.

Many of Edinburgh’s breweries have been brewing for many hundreds of years and are national icons.

This tour kicks off from The Royal Mile. You’ll get a thorough overview of the industry that includes well-kept secret recipes, marketing campaigns, advertising and expansion from local brands to national and international ones.

Your guide will explain the subtle nuances that make each beer unique, and you’ll really gain an appreciation of what makes beer so good.

Tour size is limited to 12 to make sure guests get an intimate experience.

13. Edinburgh Ghost Bus Tour

Ghost Bus Tour

Part comedy and part ghost tour, this one-hour bus tour of Edinburgh’s dark side is a great way to learn a little history, see some amazing sights, and have a few laughs too.

You and your companions will be conveyed by a refurbished double-decker bus, during which your guide will keep you engaged with a running narration explaining the things you’re seeing.

Tales of murder, mayhem, plague, and executions will be included. The tour hits some of the city’s most noted areas, like Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Mile, and Greyfriars Kirk.

Please note that food and drinks other than water aren’t allowed on the bus.

14. Magical Highlands Tour by Steam Train

Magical Highlands Tour by Steam Train

For lovers of Harry Potter, this Edinburgh-based tour to the Magical Highlands is one that shouldn’t be missed.

The tour’s mode of transportation is a steam train, which gives it a unique feel that harkens back to a different era.

You’ll pass a few of the locations that were used when filming the movies, and you’ll get glimpses of Rannoch Moor, Fort William, and stop at the West Highland Railway Museum as well.

It’s a long tour at 13 hours, but it’ll probably be one of your vacation standouts.

Gratuities, lunch, and transportation to and from your hotel aren’t included.

15. Full-Day Scottish Highlands Tour

Scottish Highlands

Scotland’s Highlands are some of the most expansive, lush, and green swatches of fields, forests, glens and rivers that you’re ever likely to see.

They are one of the country’s national treasures and home to Stirling Castle and the William Wallace Monument.

A stop at The Trossachs National Park is included as well, which is the former home of one of the country’s most famous and romanticized cattle thieves – Rob Roy.

Visits to a local loch, whiskey distillery, and majestic cathedral are also featured.

The tour usually lasts about nine hours; food and drink aren’t included.

The Best in Scottish Hospitality—Adventures in Whisky, Golf, Fishing, and More

  • An eight-day tour of Scotland, including historic castles, exclusive golf courses, superb fishing streams, and world-class whisky, with transfer between each in a private helicopter.
  • Plus, a private fitting at Scotland’s oldest bespoke tailor and an intimate voyage aboard a yacht once owned by HRH Queen Elizabeth II and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.

Bravo Whisky Golf , a specialist in luxury golf experiences in Scotland and Ireland, has created a tailor-made trip for Robb Report like none it has offered before. It includes whisky tastings at truly world-class distilleries, a private fitting from Scotland’s oldest bespoke tailor, and a intimate voyage aboard a yacht that once belonged to HRH Queen Elizabeth II and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.

But while this package takes in so many Scottish highlights, the focus is on golf. The trip will include two rounds at prestigious courses—first at North Berwick Golf Club, the 30th -best in the world, plus lunch with a member, and then 18 holes at the Machrie links (another top 30 course), which sits on the Inner Hebrides island of Islay, where you’ll be accompanied by your own pro. You’ll also play at Cabot Highlands , home to the Castle Stuart links designed by Mark Parsinen and Gil Hanse, and at Nairn, whose club was founded in 1887.

Wormistoune Castle is one of the historic spots you’ll also visit, where owners James and Gemma McCallum will host you for a private dinner to showcase the painstaking restoration they’ve undertaken of the 17th- century building. As for whisky, you’ll be greeted at Bowmore by its private-client director, Daryl Haldane, who will lead you through a tasting at lunchtime. You'll also explore the surrounding countryside in an Aston Martin, courtesy of the brand’s partnership with the carmaker.

You’ll spend time with Master of the Quiach Stephen Rankin at the Cairn Distillery , sipping a nightcap with him in Speyside; Rankin will take you through a cask-tasting of rare whiskies dating back to the 1940s and 1950s. And there's that fitting with Stewart Christie & Co. , the most historic tailors in Edinburgh, where you’ll be measured for a custom tweed gilet, and the tour of the royal yacht Britannia with the man who was its captain at the time of decommissioning in 1997. You’ll even score a fishing lesson with Michael Partridge, a master ghillie –the Gaelic name for an outdoors guide.

Taylor Swift kneels while singing onstage.

Edinburgh is known for its annual Fringe Festival.

Each year, up-and-coming performers bring their best stuff to the Scottish capital to try and cultivate an audience.

On June 7-9, Taylor Swift — who arguably might have the largest fanbase in the world — is headed to Edinburgh not for the Fringe Fest but three huge ‘Eras Tour’ concerts at Murrayfield Stadium with special guest Paramore.

As expected, tickets aren’t exactly cheap to see the Time Magazine 2023 Person Of The Year live.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $246 USD before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other shows start anywhere from $255 to $339 before fees.

While that might sound expensive, seats are much, much cheaper than they were after the release of Taylor’s “Tortured Poet’s Department” on April 19.

Back then, $498 was the cheapest price you’d pay to get in the door at Murrayfield Stadium.

Now that seats can be found for $ , Swifties can save over $250 (!) just by waiting until the last minute.

Sure, those aren’t exactly Fringe Festival prices but for any Tay Tay megafan, this is a steal.

For more information, we’ve got everything you need to know and more about Taylor Swift’s three ‘Eras Tour’ concerts at Edinburgh, GB’s Murrayfield Stadium below.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

Taylor Swift Edinburgh tickets 2024

A complete calendar including all ‘Eras Tour’ Murrayfield Stadium concert dates and links to the cheapest tickets available can be found here:

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ news

Our team has been following the ‘Eras Tour’ closely over the past year.

Over the past few months, we spoke to a Swiftie who  shared some helpful tips  about seeing Taylor live, reported on  dropping ticket prices  and  came up with a list of all the most exciting fan trends .

Taylor Swift new music

Swift’s  “The Tortured Poets Department”  was released at midnight (and subsequently at 2 a.m.) on Friday, April 19.

While every listener will likely come away with their own favorites, we particularly enjoyed the sleek, synthy “Fortnight,” icy “So Long, London,” anthemic “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” a bombastic slow build of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and gorgeously arranged “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus.”

If you want to give it a spin — if you haven’t already, that is — you can find “The Tortured Poets Department”  here .

The Hayley Williams-fronted pop-punk rockers are opening for Swift from May through August this year. This may come as a bit of a surprise to some fans considering that the group mounted a successful arena tour of their own in 2023.

That tour, came on the heels of Paramore’s 2022 reunion; prior to that, the band had been on a five-year hiatus.

For fans who want to check out their latest, their 2023 album “This Is Why” can be heard  here .

Huge stars on tour in 2024

Although it will cost an arm and a leg (sometimes more!) to see Swift live this year, there are much more affordable — likely stateside — concerts you can attend this year.

Here are just five of our favorite artists you won’t want to miss live.

•  Olivia Rodrigo

•  Kacey Musgraves

•  Gracie Abrams

•  Billie Eilish

Who else is on the road this year? Check out our list of the  50 biggest concert tours in 2024  to find out.

‘Tortured Poets Department’ Trams Roll Through Edinburgh Ahead of Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ Concerts

Tortured Poets Department Trams Roll Through Edinburgh Ahead of Taylor Swift Eras Tour Concerts 446

You know that these trams can take you home, anywhere else is hollow.

With Taylor Swift due to take her Eras Tour to Edinburgh for three shows at Murrayfield Stadium, the Scotland capital is celebrating with Tortured Poets Department –branded trams.

The city’s tram system unveiled their designs with a video shared via X on Wednesday, June 5. The video shows one of the trams, wrapped in all black with Tortured Poets Department branding on the top, rolling past the 67,000-seat stadium.

“It’s me, hi, I’m TTPD tram, it’s me. The #TaylorSwift merchandise stand is open at @MurrayfieldStad,” their post read. “If you’re traveling there by tram today, make sure you’ve got your tram tickets purchased or validated before you board! Look out for the Taylor Swift TTPD tram too.”

Naturally, Swifties flooded the replies and reposts, sharing their enthusiasm for her three-day Scotland run that begins Friday, June 7.

“It’s Taylor’s world and we’re just living in it,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “Edinburgh is down bad for the American queen,” referencing the song “Down Bad” from Swift’s latest album.

The city’s tram system isn’t the only local organization gearing up for Swift’s weekend in Edinburgh. Bars and restaurants around the city have teamed up to create a “Taylor Tasting Trail” that showcases “Taylor Swift–inspired cocktails, sweet treats and more inspired by her music,” according to the Eras Tour UK account on X .

City stores have also gotten in on the fun. Piercing shop Laura Bond is offering Swift-themed piercing and luxury friendship bracelets , according to the Daily Mail . Another shop, Pie in the Sky, dressed one of its mannequins up to look like Swift, even giving it a guitar to hold.

Loch Tay, the largest loch in the county of Perthshire, was renamed Loch Tay Tay on Wednesday as a nod to the artist. The renaming ceremony included bagpipe renditions of Swift’s songs.

“First thing I want to say to Taylor and all of her Swifties is they’re really welcome here in Scotland,” Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney said at the ceremony. “The fact that Loch Tay is being renamed Loch Tay Tay is just fabulous, I really hope she has the chance to go see it.”

Posting a picture of the Long Story Short singer to their socials, Capital FM baffled fans who thought she was being announced as a Summertime Ball headliner.

The prospect was a little unbelievable as after her upcoming Edinburgh gigs , Taylor is heading to Liverpool where she will perform the day before the festival.

Summertime Ball’s actual date (Sunday, June 16) is currently empty for the 34-year-old workaholic so not utterly impossible.

However, startled Swifties quickly realised she would not be joining Sabrina Carpenter for the gig – instead Capital has launched a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, pop-up station, dedicated to Taylor.

Capital (Taylor’s Version) is the first time a UK DAB radio station has been dedicated to just one artist.

Taylor Swift performs Tortured Poets Department at The Eras Tour in Lyon, France

‘Once upon a time, the planets and the fates and the stars aligned… and ✨Capital (Taylor’s Version)✨ was born 🤩,’ wrote the station on X.

‘@taylorswift13 | The Eras Tour is coming to the UK, and to celebrate we’re playing Taylor’s biggest tracks 24/7 on our dedicated Swift music station!’

Confused fan Rubes replied: ‘I thought they were announcing her as a STB headliner then I panicked😭.’

‘I s**t myself because I thought she was announced as a headliner for the capital summertime ball 😭,’ added Em.

On Capital’s Instagram, Charlene added: ‘I genuinely thought she was gonna be announced for the Ball 😭😭 oh well of go listen to the station instead 😂.’

Many said the stunt better hint that she is a surprise guest for the show, which will see Raye, Perrie Edwards, Becky Hill, Aitch, and The Sugababes perform.

There is a catch to the radio station though as fans won’t be hearing Getaway Car or Tim McGraw as it is re-recorded albums only.

Reputation and Taylor Swift – also known as Debut – are yet to be released as a Taylor’s Version album so they will be omitted from the playlist.

Some fans have clocked some non-Taylor’s Versions playing in the mix though so maybe Picture To Burn (original version) might slip through the cracks.

However, with over 250 songs to choose from repeats are bound to be few and far between, although we doubt die-hard Swifties will care anyway.

Taylor Swift performs on stage during The Eras Tour

Fearless, Speak Now , Red , 1989 , Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights and the Tortured Poets Department are all mixed in for this ultimate playlist.

Of course, no station would be complete without some talking segments and fans will be treated to fun facts and news updates dotted in throughout.

Capital will also be speaking to swifties before and after her shows in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and London, for a feel of the Eras Tour as it happens.

Brent Tobin, Managing Editor of Capital, said: ‘We were so excited to create this pop-up radio station to celebrate Taylor Swift. It’s set to be a fan favourite, with not only the greatest songs but top trivia and tour news.

‘We’ll be on air until it’s So Long, London and we hope all the Swifties join us for the ultimate tour celebration!’

Taylor Swift performs Reputation at The Eras Tour in Lyon, France

Taylor will hit the stage at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Friday, June 7 for her first UK gig since 2018’s Reputation tour.

This is actually the first time since 2015 that the 34-year-old icon will be headed to Scotland, having performed her 1989 tour to 11,000 people in Glasgow.

Now, she’s sold out the 67,000-capacity arena three times over as one of the biggest artists on the planet, breaking records consistently.

However, not everyone is celebrating her arrival in the Scottish city as homeless people who are usually offered hotel rooms to stay in are being sent elsewhere .

Edinburgh council gives temporary accommodation to rough sleepers but the city is so jam-packed with Swifties travelling in there is simply nowhere left.

They have reportedly been offered places in Aberdeen and Glasgow or as far as Newcastle to stay instead.

In a statement, housing, homelessness and fair work convener, Councillor Jane Meagher, said: ‘It is a symptom of the housing emergency we face in Edinburgh that at times we must use tourist accommodation to house homeless households.

‘We know it won’t be available year-round, particularly over the busy summer months, so we use it reluctantly as a last resort. We’re aware of the situation and are working with the affected households to find appropriate, alternative accommodation.’
