The Cast performing in Las Vegas, NV

The European exclusive engagement of “Glee Live! In Concert!,” is a unique concert experience, once again conceived by Ryan Murphy , that includes live performances of some of the show’s most memorable musical numbers from seasons one and two including “ Empire State of Mind ”, “ Toxic ”, “ My Life Would Suck Without You ”, “ It's My Life ”, and of course, the show’s anthem, “ Don't Stop Believin' ”.

Described by the Los Angeles Times as “triumphant,” USA Today called last year’s concerts “equal parts musical theater, giddy pop culture phenomenon and Journey-loving rock show,” said Murphy, “We had such a great time putting together last year’s shows and the response from the fans was incredible. People around the world want to see our cast live and in person, so this European tour is our way of thanking them for the unbelievable way they’ve embraced our little show.”

  • Don't Rain On My Parade was cut from the setlist after May 28 because Lea Michele (Rachel) found it too difficult to perform each night. It will be included however in Glee: The 3D Concert Movie . (Lea sang it at the Uniondale, NY show and the East Rutherford show)
  • A skit followed River Deep - Mountain High , and was performed by Heather Morris (Brittany), Darren Criss (Blaine), and Chris Colfer (Kurt). It served as a lead-in to Jesse's Girl . (Included in "Videos" section)
  • Naya was sick for two shows, the June 28th London show and the June 30th London show. She appeared in the 28th show (doing up to Loser Like Me and stopping for the encore), but was too sick for the June 30th show. With Naya being sick (and Amber doing River Deep, Mountain High alone), Jenna did True Colors in place of Valerie .
  • For the June 13th show in Detroit, Dianna was missing for an unknown reason (it was later figured out that there were passport issues). For the June 29th show in London, she got sick and couldn't perform. Dianna was also sick for the July 2nd show in Dublin. With Dianna sick for the June 29th show, Lucky was removed. In place of that, they put Forget You , in which Gwyneth Paltrow appeared. This is the second time she has sung this, she also sang it for the New Jersey shows.
  • For one show, Chord performed sick but didn't do any of the group numbers.
  • For the 8pm show in Toronto on the 12 of June, Dianna wore a 'Likes Girls' shirt to show her appreciation for the LGBT community.
  • For one show, with a smaller stage, Dianna was standing too close to where fireworks were about to go off. Lea saved her by saying "Come over here, you're about to die!"
  • For the Ireland shows, Heather's shirt said: I'm with Amadán (which is Irish for fool/stupid).
  • Naya wore a shirt that said: Lebanese for Irish Girls.
  • For the very last show, Heather and Naya kissed and Darren and Chris kissed.
  • For the very last show, a lot of the cast wore Warbler ties/jackets due to the fact it was uncertain whether or not they would be seen in season 3 due to Blaine transferring.
  • The kiss between Heather and Naya was planned. Heather said they were backstage getting ready, when they decided to do it. Most of the skits are improvised anyway. They also said the particular show was a mess anyway.
  • Chris Colfer did not know Darren was going to kiss him.
  • They had set up rules. One of them being "No physical contact". [1]

'Glee' Cast Announces U.S. Tour

The “Glee” cast is taking its show on the road. Fox’s Golden Globe award-winning high school musical has announced a seven-date U.S. “Glee Live! In Concert!” tour, kicking off in Phoenix, Ariz. on May 18 — just over a month after the show’s anticipated return to television.

“This has been such an extraordinary year for ‘Glee’ and I can’t think of a better way to finish up the first season than performing live on stage with the cast,” said cast member Leah Michele , who plays hyper-ambitious glee club soloist Rachel Berry on the show.

“The response of the fans to our little show has been so immediate and so gratifying, we wanted to get out and thank them live and in person,” said “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy .

Rumors of a “Glee” cast tour had been circulating for weeks, ever since Cory Monteith, who plays football quarterback Finn Hudson , broke the news on his Twitter page. “This show has changed my life in so many ways,” said Monteith. “If you had told me a year ago that I’d be performing classic rock songs in concert theaters around the country, I would never have believed you. We are psyched!”

Trending on Billboard

As “Glee” fans — known as “Gleeks” — have grown in number, so has the popularity of the show’s music, which is made available for download after each episode. The top 10 songs recorded by the Glee Cast have sold a total of 4.5 million digital downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan — 677,000 of those belonging to the cast’s version of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The full soundtrack albums have also seen strong sales: “Glee: The Music, Volume 1” has sold 730,000 copies since its November 3 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while “Glee: the Music, Vol. 2” has sold 529,000 since December 8.

The “Glee” tour setlist will feature a live performance of “Don’t Stop Believin’,” other group number highlights like “Somebody to Love” and “Jump,” and memorable solo performances including “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and “Sweet Caroline.” Cast members lined up for the tour include Michele, Monteith, and their fellow performers who play glee club members on the show: Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones), Chris Colfer ( Kurt Hummel ), Kevin McHale ( Artie Abrams ), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang), Mark Salling (Noah “Puck” Puckerman), Dianna Agron ( Quinn Fabray ), Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum, Jr. ( Mike Chang ) and Dijon Talton (Matt Rutherford).

“Glee” tour tickets go on sale to the public Mar. 18 for the Phoenix date and Mar. 13 for other cities; pre-sale tickets are available on Friday (Mar. 5) for American Express cardholders.

As for the television show, “Glee’s” first season returns to Fox on Apr. 13, while production on season two will begin following the “Glee” tour.

Here are the “2010 Glee Live! In Concert!” tour dates:

May 18: Phoenix, Ariz. (Dodge Theatre) May 20: Los Angeles, Calif. (Gibson Amphitheatre) May 21: Los Angeles, Calif. (Gibson Amphitheatre May 25: Chicago, Ill. (Rosemont Theatre) May 26: Chicago, Ill. (Rosemont Theatre) May 28: New York, N.Y. (Radio City Music Hall) May 29: New York, N.Y. (Radio City Music Hall)

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Mashups May Be Proof That She’s A Secret Gleek

Before the singer started combining songs in her catalog, Glee did it first.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Song Mashups Could Prove She's A 'Glee' Fan

Every night on the Eras Tour , Taylor Swift plays a three-and-a-half-hour show with 45 songs that span her entire career, which is a huge feat in itself. But the singer has managed to up the ante with her unpredictable mashups.

During her “Secret Songs” segment , Swift typically picks two songs that aren’t on her setlist and plays them acoustically on the guitar and piano. But since resuming the Eras Tour on Feb. 7 in Tokyo, Swift has chosen more than two tracks and incorporated them into mashups, often showcasing the narrative connections between new and old songs across her catalog.

At her four shows in Sydney, Swift’s mashups became a pattern, with her secret songs ranging from the ’80s sugar rush of “Is It Over Now?” mixed with “I Wish You Would” to the devastating one-two punch of “New Years’ Day” and “peace.”

This leads me to one conclusion: Swift is secretly a Gleek.

Glee ’s Iconic Mashups

'Glee' Season 4 cast

Before Swift started combining every song in her catalog, the Glee cast was seemingly mashing up the entire Great American Songbook. The first attempts came on the Season 1 episode “Vitamin D,” when the New Directions girls mixed Beyoncé’s “Halo” with Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine,” while the guys combined Usher’s “Confessions, Part II” with Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life.”

Both numbers were such hits that mashups quickly became a signature hallmark of Glee .

Combining songs was an effective tool for the show to turn famous songs into their own hits, and a few of them went down as some of the best musical numbers to ever be performed on Glee , most notably Naya Rivera and Amber Riley’s passionate medley of Adele’s hits “Rumour Has It” and “Someone Like You.”

Now, Swift’s mashups are receiving a similar reception among fans, who are thrilled about hearing new interpretations of their favorite songs. While the singer has never publicly declared her Glee fandom, it wouldn’t be that surprising if she took a page out of their playbook.

She Was Friends With Glee Stars

Cory Monteith and Taylor Swift

During the show’s run, Swift was friendly with star Cory Monteith, whom she paid tribute to after he passed away in 2013. She was even closer to Dianna Agron, who is rumored to be the subject of her 2012 hit “22.” She also worked with Chord Overstreet on a Thelma & Louise recreation with Shania Twain for the 2011 CMT Music Awards. (Yes, that really happened .)

Swift even visited the Glee set while they were filming a chaotic Season 5 episode, as Kevin McHale recapped on his And That’s What You Really Missed podcast with Jenna Ushkowitz, saying he felt “very famous” around her. “She was filming on Paramount that day, and we all knew her through Dianna,” he said. “I was like, ‘Don’t worry guys, we’re friends. It’s fine.’”

Swift’s Other Connections To Glee

Perhaps the most interesting evidence of Swift’s fandom came during an Eras Tour show in April, when she put an L to her forehead and jokingly called her dancer a “loser” while performing “Look What You Made Me Do.” This, of course, was Glee’s trademark pose, used on many promo posters.

Glee used a couple of her songs, like when Rivera’s Santana turned “Mine” into a moving ode to Heather Morris’ Brittany, proving that the show was also a fan of hers. In fact, creator Ryan Murphy said one of his top regrets was not doing an entire Swift-themed episode .

Sure, there’s no certifiable proof that Swift was inspired by Glee . Regardless of what motivated the mashups, Glee walked so the Eras Tour’s secret songs could run.

NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Seeing Taylor Swift for the first time was a religious experience – all the rumours are true

Taylor Swift in a white outfit knelt down on stage during Eras Tour Edinburgh show

Despite watching every tantalising Eras Tour snippet that crossed my social media , nothing could have prepared me for Taylor Swift .

As a lifelong Swiftie, I have only ever seen my idol once when she appeared with Haim at the O2 – but that was all about to change at Edinburgh night one.

The fandom that follows the icon has been jokingly called a cult or a religion but I’m not kidding when I say the whole thing felt like a religious experience.

I’ve always loved Taylor for her ability to articulate in song what I’m feeling at various points in my life so hearing it all live was overwhelming.

I’m not ashamed to say I cried multiple times.

The entirety of Edinburgh was buzzing as Swiftiemania took over , and merchandise could be seen everywhere.

Naturally, before the Murrayfield Stadium gig started, Swifties gathered and traded friendship bracelets whenever possible.

Taylor Swift in a red and black dazzling jumpsuit surrounded by backup dancers

While it may seem cringeworthy to some, bracelets embody the larger ethos of the show. This is not a concert for a casual fan; it’s an outpouring of love from Taylor to Swifties.

Finally, at 7.15 pm, the music stopped and the infamous countdown clock reached 0. The roar let out by fans was deafening – earplugs are a must for this gig.

It’s hard not to get swept up in the excitement of it all, even Taylor had a look of sheer delight on her face as she introduced the tour and took us through Lover.

The well-documented setlist only increased excitement as fans sang along to every single lyric at an ever-increasing decibel.

@l_aurenpeters Edinburgh Night 1 we’re coming for you! #erastour #erastourtaylorswift #taylorswift #erastouredinburgh #erastouredinburghn1 #swifies @Danni ♬ bejeweled transition – theo (taylor’s version)

Taylor Swift review

While hits like Cruel Summer and The Man serve as a crowd-pleasing warm-up, Fearless is where the set begins to shine. Nostalgia radiates from this era and left the entire stadium giddy as we belted Love Story and You Belong with Me.

Red offers another indulgent nostalgia dip packed with fan favourite moments like the 22 hat and All Too Well (10 Minute Version).

If you had to pick a crown jewel in Taylor’s discography it would certainly be this. I expected to get bored as the track hit halfway – few artists could get away with singing a 10-minute version of a decade-old song – but it was utterly captivating.

Taylor Swift in a purple ball gown on stage

stop omg here is a video from the actual proposal and taylor seeing it in the background, so happy for them!! 😭🫶 pic.twitter.com/kEyEWt9z8x — kaia (@kaiamal13) June 8, 2024

I barely breathed, not daring to miss a moment of the iconic track.

As with any good gig, the pace ebbs and flows with dance tracks and ballads. However, if I had one (very minor) gripe with the Eras Tour, it’s the astounding lack of Speak Now despite the popularity and re-release.

With only Enchanted on the setlist, the era feels a little rushed. The ballad is a gorgeous moment with dancers in lilac circling the songstress in her ball gown but I wish there was more – maybe I’m just being greedy. Justice for my favourite album.

Dotted throughout the show were moments when you realise how much this all means to Taylor. From her repeated ‘thank you’s to drinking in the thunderous applause after Champagne Problems, she just adores her fans.

Taylor Swift in a Black striped blazer and silver boots

Yes, she’s a capitalist queen. But beneath that is a genuine glee when she hears us all singing along.

During folklore, she paused the show to ask if a couple had just got engaged. Congratulating them, Taylor explained that she loves daylight shows because ‘at night it’s dark’, before giggling realising the obviousness of her remark.

These interactions humanised her and showed an endearing side to this music titan. Despite the stadium filled with over 70,000 Swifties, she still managed to make every single person feel seen.

Three and a half hours flew by as Reputation picked up the pace once again, a fan favourite and the likely next era to get its Taylor’s Version.

Taylor Swift at the piano in a blue dress

Taylor lets loose here, belting some incredible notes and taking a playful tone over scathing lyrics about those who have wronged her.

I’d be remiss not to mention the Tortured Poets Department. This new era was what I was most excited to see, considering it is fast becoming one of my favourite albums.

While the entire show is an epic production, Taylor really excelled here with alien abductions, gliding staging, and flawless vocals. To say Smallest Man destroyed myself and every other swiftie in my eye-line would be an understatement.

Taylor Swift belting

Ultimately, the Eras Tour is complex, delicate, and epic. If you don’t like Taylor Swift, this is not going to be the moment you suddenly start liking her but that’s fine, this wasn’t designed to introduce people to her latest album.

This is for the fans and for those of us who have had our entire lives soundtracked by Taylor, this is as good as it gets. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat, every single night. Take us to church, Taylor.

Oh and if anyone is wondering, the surprise song mash-up of Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve and I Know Places was as unbelievable as you’d expect. I need at least three weeks to process it.
