As the whole of the UK soaks up the sun, it’s not long before an ‘ice’ warning is issued… pack your bags because we’re off on the ‘Wurst Vacation’. All puns aside, the metal-core beasts from Boston, who have been taking the world by storm since 2000, are here in Manchester ready to put on the horror show of a lifetime. Please welcome, the one and only, Ice Nine Kills.

First up are Thai alternative metal band, Defying Decay. Hailing all the way from Bangkok, these guys certainly did not disappoint. Delivering an unforgettable performance and even a circle pit, the energy of the crowd was immaculate.

With the unique blend of post-hardcore and alternative rock, everyone, including myself, can definitely agree that for the first support out of four bands performing tonight, Defying Decay made their mark.

Lead singer, Jay Poom Euarchukiati, effortlessly connects with the crowd as his powerful vocals echo around the venue, with the passion and enthusiasm of the band making their presence remarkable. Amazing performance.

Next on the stage, we have US rockers, Lansdowne. Now this performance was nothing short of electric, a high-energy show that had the crowd jumping and singing along to every song.

With raw energy that was hard to ignore, lead singer, Jon Ricci, showed off his gritty vocals whilst the band’s powerful, hard-hitting rock sound all blended perfectly together.

The blistering guitar solos (Shaun & Josh) and incredibly tight rhythm on the drums (Glenn) proved that Lansdowne are definitely a force to be reckoned with.

For the third support of the night, we’re off over to the other side of the world to see the highly anticipated, Australian, gothic band, SKYND.

As two anonymous members of the band take to the stage in masks, already I’m loving the vibe. The lights go dark as lead singer, Skynd, appears on stage. The crowd goes wild. You would think that SKYND are the headliners from the number of cheers in the room.

The whole performance was hauntingly beautiful; a mesmerising show that kept us entranced from start to finish. Skynds vocals were perfectly complimented by the brooding sounds performed by multi-instrumentalist, known to the world as Father.

Flawlessly switching between two very different tones at any given moment, SKYND have the ability to sound dark and menacing one minute and sweet and childlike the next. Her movements mimicking a puppet being controlled by its master’s strings. Between songs, short clips of true crime news stories played over the speakers before seamlessly diving into their next hit. Definitely a show for anyone who loves their music with a side of serial killers.

It’s now time for the moment all 2,600 of us have been waiting for. The gig that has been sold out for months; Massachusetts metal heads, Ice Nine Kills. Get ready, the most theatrical, mind-blowing, thrilling performance is about to begin.

Smoke fills the stage as each member of the band appears in suits and bow ties, very appropriate attire for the first song on the setlist. Kicking off the night with “Funeral Derangements”, a song based on the horror film ‘Pet Sematary’, lead vocalist, Spencer Charnas emerges from the wall of smoke wielding an axe pointed to the crowd.

With signs in the background saying ‘Welcome To Horrorwood’ (the title of their 2021 album), the fans go wild. INK are here and to Horrorwood we go.

Things took a more gruesome turn for the second song, “Wurst Vacation”, a track based on the film ‘Hostel’, as Spencer appears in a butchers-like apron covered in blood, clutching a hatchet in his right hand.

He began ‘chopping off’ a scared actor’s arm, followed by ‘severing’ his head to which Charnas proceeded to show the crowd, holding them high and then throwing them to the side of the stage. Aside from feeling as though I’ve got a front-row seat at a murder scene, the musical experience was just as phenomenal as the theatrics and it was obvious the crowd agreed.

The audience passionately sang along to every single song, back to back as well as saving the time to have a good old mosh and have plenty of crowd surfing.

Throughout the night, the quintet performed several songs from their albums ‘The Silver Scream’ and its sequel ‘Welcome To Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2’. INK also took us on a trip down memory Lane playing hits off their 2015 album ‘Every Trick In The Book’.

Overall, one of THE best shows I have ever been to. An incredible, thrilling, unforgettable night performed by an indescribably talented band.

Ice Nine Kills announce European tour

ICE NINE KILLS  have announced a headlining European tour!

Set for February and March next year, the tour will see the horror-obsessed metalcore band touring across mainland Europe and the UK to support their latest album,  The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood , which was released in October last year.

Tickets for the tour will be available for purchase from Wednesday, June 15th and can be purchased here.

Speaking about the tour, the band says, “after the KILLER reception we had on our recent festival run we’re DYING to come back and bring this tour to the UK and Europe. These will be the biggest shows we’ve ever brought overseas. Only the true psychos will survive.”

The body count continues to rise today as the next chapter in the Horrorwood saga is unleashed from overlords of slashercore, ICE NINE KILLS . The arrival of brand new music video for the title track from their chart-topping album, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood heralds the latest instalment in the gore-soaked slasher franchise that began in 2018 with the announcement of their album The Silver Scream .

Supporting Ice Nine Kills will be the Australian Industrial rock group SKYND.                SKYND band consisting of lead singer Skynd and multi-instrumentalist Father . They are the pioneers of the genre of true crime music with songs largely based on disturbing deaths and murders. They have released songs on murders and murderers such as Wayne Gacy , Chris Watts , Gary M Heidnik , Armin Melwes , The Columbine High School massacre and the mass suicide in Jonestown to name a few…

ICE NINE KILLS announce rescheduled EU/UK tour dates

Unfortunately for fright fans in the UK and Europe, ICE NINE KILLS have postponed their upcoming Wurst Vacation tour. The good news is that it’s only been pushed back a few months, at least for the UK dates, so there isn’t long to wait until the curtain finally drops. 

Originally scheduled for March, INK returning to the UK after a great slot at 2022’s Download festival has been long-anticipated. With the release of The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood , the band have continued to go from strength to strength, dispelling the cliche that horror sequels always offer diminishing returns. 

Speaking of the second instalment in their own fear-inducing franchise, the band recently released a blockbuster video for the album’s opening track Welcome To Horrorwood . Check it out below:

Keen eyes will notice a (Donington sized?) gap between their dates in Bristol on June 7th and Nottingham on June 12th. Need we say more…

Been an INK fan for a long time, and finally got to see them November 22 in Atlanta. Let me just say, THEY WERE AMAZING! Holy hell man. Unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Spencer has such a great stage personality, Ricky fits Spencer’s vocals well, and Dan and Joe are completely amazing. Saw Fit For A King, Light the Torch, and Awake at Last that night as well, and they were also amazing. Awake at last was ok, not amazing. But the other two were definitely worth it. 20/10 would go see INK again!

Ice Nine Kills put on an incredible show. I expected nothing less from these creative, talented men. Spencer was just as vocally on point live as he is in the studio. Theatrics added to their perfect sound. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of seeing them live and I look forward to seeing them in a different venue in the future. I have seen well over a hundred shows in venues in Florida and other parts of the country. This was one of the worst visually designed venues I have ever been to. House of Blues in Orlando remains my favorite venue and I hope to see them there someday. If you have the opportunity to see this band live, I highly recommend it. You won't regret it.

The whole line-up was great. Awake at Last started off the show with great engagement and Light the Torch absolutely destroyed!! Fit for a King played a metal set and Ice Nine Kills had an incredible performance! They played their Silver Scream album, but brought back Communion of the Cursed and Me, Myself, and Hyde, which fit perfectly into their set. The energy was high throughout the whole set and the show was amazing from start to finish. Definitely an experience I will not be forgetting.

Ice Nine Kills Reschedule European/UK Tour For Logistical Reasons

Horror-loving melodic metalcore band Ice Nine Kills have rescheduled their headlining European/UK touring plans to the spring/summer. That trek had previously been booked to commence on February 01st, though the opportunity to open for Metallica on select dates likely had a hand in forcing them to adjust their plans.

A statement issued by Ice Nine Kills earlier today (January 17th) reads as follows:

“In order to make all 2023 tour dates work logistically, we are having to consolidate and postpone our headliner till the Summer. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. All tickets remain valid for the new dates, contact your point of purchase any for questions and refunds.”

Skynd will be joining them on this revised trek, which they have dubbed the ‘ Wurst Vacation Tour ‘. The new itinerary for the trek runs as follows:

Ice Nine Kills have also added an extra London show to their highly anticipated WURST VACATION tour.

Well, fans get ready, Ice Nine Kills have upgraded three UK dates and added an extra show due to incredible demand.

So, if you didn’t get tickets the first time, make sure to grab them while you can for their new 2023 shows. The band have sized up venues in Bristol, Glasgow and Manchester, which saw the original venues selling out within 24 hours of the announcement.

"After the killer reception we had on our recent festival run we're dying to come back and bring this tour to the UK and Europe," says Spencer Charnas. "These will be the biggest shows we've ever brought overseas. Only the true psychos will survive."

Ice Nine Kills' WURST VACATION tour will kick off in Bristol on March 1 and close out with back-to-back London shows on March 10 and 12. Fans can buy tickets here .
