GLOBAL SUPERSTAR JOSH GROBAN BRINGS 2022 HARMONY SUMMER TOUR TO PINE KNOB MUSIC THEATRE FRIDAY, JUNE 17

(DETROIT – January 31, 2022) – Today, multi-platinum award-winning singer, songwriter and global superstar Josh Groban announces his Harmony Summer 2022 tour. This tour will be the first time Josh has played songs for a live audience off his latest album, Harmony, released in November 2020 via Warner Records. Special guests joining him on this tour are the legendary New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band as well as violinist/singer Lucia Micarelli, and singer-songwriter Eleri Ward.

The tour will be held at mainly outdoor venues and will kick off at Pine Knob Music Theatre on Friday, June 17 at 7 p.m. Pine Knob Music Theatre is presented by Proud Partners United Wholesale Mortgage, Trinity Health and Ally.

Tickets (starting at $39.50 on the lawn) go on sale Friday, February 4 at 10 a.m. at 313Presents.com , LiveNation.com , Ticketmaster.com and the XFINITY Box Office at Little Caesars Arena. Citi is the official card of the Harmony Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning February 1 at 10 a.m. local time until February 3 at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program. “After far too long feeling torn away from my favorite part of my musical life, live performance, it is with huge excitement and gratitude to announce that I’ll be back doing what I do best and love most with the Harmony Tour,” says Groban. “It will be more than a concert for me…it will be a celebration of connection with my friends, fans and colleagues who have been my anchors during the last couple of years and during the course of my career. Before heading out on the Harmony Summer Tour, Josh will be continuing his Great Big Radio City Show performances at Radio City Music Hall from April 7 - April 9. Josh debuted his Great Big Radio City Show at Radio City Music Hall on Valentine’s Day 2020 and is excited to resume his residency there this year.

Josh kicked off 2021 with the release of Harmony Deluxe, which featured six additional renditions of timeless classics and performed a special livestream concert on Valentine’s Day. This past November, Josh also celebrated the 20th anniversary of his debut self-titled album with the release of the 20th Anniversary Deluxe edition, featuring two new bonus tracks, “Roma Nun Fa’ La Stupida Stasera,” Groban’s first ever studio demo and “Mia Per Sempre,” the original Japanese edition bonus track.

To wrap up 2021, Josh presented an encore presentation of his first ever Holiday concert on December 17, due to popular demand. The performance featured songs from his critically acclaimed, six-time platinum selling holiday album, Noël, as well as a few fan favorites.

About Preservation Hall Jazz Band At a moment when musical streams are crossing with unprecedented frequency, it’s crucial to remember that throughout its history, New Orleans has been the point at which sounds and cultures from around the world converge, mingle, and resurface, transformed by the Crescent City’s inimitable spirit and joie de vivre. In 2018, Lucia appeared in her first PBS concert special, which aired throughout the US and spawned a live album.  In 2020, Lucia joined the Hallmark Family and starred in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries holiday movie The Christmas Bow.  Having been influenced by her experience on Treme, she’s absorbed many types of musical styles and has since added singing to her repertoire.  This ability to combine these diverse influences allow her to move from classical, to jazz, to traditional fiddle music and Americana, while creating a musical map unlike anything heard before from a violinist - all bound together by her trademark emotional vulnerability and technical wizardry.

About Eleri Ward Eleri Ward is a New York City-based actor, singer, and musician. In 2021, she recorded and produced her full-length indie-folk Sondheim album, "A Perfect Little Death," in her closet. After gaining a viral TikTok following, it was released by Ghostlight Records and has been hailed as “a harmonious marriage of musical theater and indie folk music, with hauntingly beautiful arrangements” by Forbes and “an incandescent new record, something genuinely new” from American Theater Magazine. Her original pop music has been called “soaring” (Nexus Music Blog), “astonishing” (Rising Artists), and “dreamy” (Neon Music). Her most recent pop EP, "Friction," was released in 2021. Eleri has been singing and acting since she was eight years old and has always strived to carve out her own space with the uniqueness she brings to the theater. Global superstar Josh Groban is bringing his  Harmony  Tour to TD Pavilion at the Mann on July 12, 2022, featuring special guests Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Lucia Micarelli, and Eleri Ward. 

Josh Groban is an internationally renowned, GRAMMY®-nominated singer, songwriter, and actor whose baritone voice is instantly recognizable and unparalleled among his peers. He has entertained fans across the globe with his multiplatinum albums and DVDs, electrifying live performances, and comedic film and television appearances. This event will also be the Mann’s 2022 Party in the Park gala, which is an annual fundraiser benefitting the Mann’s education and community engagement programs. Tickets and more information can be found here .

Bags must be an individual  CLEAR  plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bag no larger than 12"x6"x12" with a single compartment and/or a small  NON-CLEAR  clutch bag (4.5"x6.5"). Backpacks are not allowed. Patrons who arrive with a bag other than what is permitted may purchase a clear plastic tote for $10 at the gates.

Josh Groban has announced his Harmony Summer 2022 tour, featuring songs from his November 2020 Harmony album. Special guests on the trek include the legendary New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band as well as violinist/singer Lucia Micarelli, and singer-songwriter Eleri Ward.

The tour will be held at mainly outdoor venues and will kick off on Friday, June 17th in Detroit, MI at the Pine Knob Music Theater and visit over 25 cities across the country before wrapping up at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, August 2nd.

• ELERI WARD will begin at 7:00pm followed by PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND and JOSH GROBAN & LUCIA MICARELLI will close the show.
• Patrons will be allowed to bring in up to two factory sealed bottles of water. Squeezable, soft plastic water bottles that are empty will also be allowed (please note that non-squeezable plastic water bottles will not be allowed). Josh Groban concert review | Blossom Music Center | 06.29.22

Josh Groban’ s latest album, ‘Harmony,’ his ninth studio effort, was released in 2020. His tour of the same name is finally on the road post-pandemic closures, and the tour’s namesake could not be more perfect. Fans anxiously awaited his onstage presence, flanked by his impressive backing orchestra. The crescendo from said orchestra started the evening off with Frank Sinatra’s “The World We Knew.” (Does anybody even remember the “world we knew” prior to March 2020?) The song set the tone for a lovely evening. Groban’s baritone voice is strong, smooth, and unmistakable. His second selection of the evening, “Shape of My Heart,” a cover of the classic song by Sting , was soft as Groban let the lyrics linger. Fans nestled in their seats in HARMONY with their loved ones; leaning on one another.

The Grammy-nominated singer (who has also tried his hand at producing records and acting) is known globally for his distinct voice and musical versatility. Groban can switch genres on a dime. Pop, classical, rock, show tunes, and everything in between…This guy’s voice can do it all! There is a reason this guy has sold more than 35 million records.

Groban performed many other covers on the evening, highlighted by Robbie Williams ’ “ Angels.” (His ‘shout out’ to Robbie drew quite the ovation from the crowd.)

A special treat on the evening came when Groban introduced Lucia Micarelli , a violinist in his backing orchestra, who played a classical solo that left the audience breathless. Micarelli understands how music should feel and is a true master of balancing pace and rhythm. She joined Groban for a performance of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.” Her soft, airy, sultry voice added to the depth of the melody.

A comical moment to some (an annoyance to others) was when Josh was interrupted by a baby’s crying. He joked that he was impressed with the stamina of the young fan.

Groban shared stories, including one of how lucky he was to have both a piano and guitar in his home while growing up.  He explained that music can soothe the soul and, if you can give your child the gift of music, their world could be changed forever.

Groban’s hidden talent lies behind a drum kit. (What can’t this guy do?)  Roadies brought out a drum set to the delight of a cheering crowd. He did a call and response with the three other percussionists.

Groban continued with more covers (he performed 10 total on the evening) including Peter Gabriel’s “The Book of Love” and “Not While I’m Around, ” (composed by Steven Sondheim ).

His set concluded with his version of “You Raise Me Up,” the song that sprung Groban to the forefront of mainstream exposure. He would return for a one-song encore, a cover of Mitch Leigh’s “The Impossible Dream.”

Immediately prior to Groban’s set, Preservation Hall Jazz Band , who are fresh off a performance at Something in the Water Festival in Washington DC, where the band joined Dave Matthews Band for their set, took to the Blossom stage. The group is named after a New Orleans’ jazz club of the same name, that was founded in 1961 by Allan Jaffe .  Jaffe passed away in 1987 but his son, Ben Jaffe is a current member of this seven-piece band (down one member at Blossom on this evening).  PHJB was high-energy and received plenty of notice from the audience. 

This evening’s stage was quite simple. No large video screens (except for the large left and right of stage monitors), fewer video cameras, and a more simply lit stage.  The audio quality was excellent.  The orchestra was accompanied by set drums (two of them, actually, and three when Groban joined with his) and a substantial stand-up bass.

Groban and the amazing orchestra put on an outstanding show tonight.  Josh said in a recent interview that “’ Harmony’ became something I just wanted to release because I just loved it.” Hey, Josh! We loved the “Harmony” tour, too.

Dr. Joseph Lozovyy was born into a Christian family in Elektrostal, Moscow Region, and was raised in a pastor’s home. From the age of fifteen, he began actively participating in the music ministry of the Baptist Church in Mytishchi, where his father served as a pastor, and also played in the orchestra of the Central Moscow Baptist Church. From 1989, he participated in various evangelistic events in different cities of Moscow Region and beyond. From 1989 to 1992, as a member of the choir and orchestra “LOGOS,” he participated in evangelistic and charitable concerts, repeatedly performing on the stages of the Moscow State Conservatory, the Bolshoi Theatre, and other concert halls in Russia and abroad. In 1992, his family moved to the United States. In 2007, after completing a full course of spiritual and academic preparation, Joseph moved to Dallas, Texas, to engage in church ministry. In 2008, he founded the Russian Bible Church to preach to the Russian-speaking population living in Dallas, Texas.

Title : Active carbons as nanoporous materials for solving of environmental problems

However, up to now, the main carriers of catalytic additives have been mineral sorbents: silica gels, alumogels. This is obviously due to the fact that they consist of pure homogeneous components SiO2 and Al2O3, respectively. It is generally known that impurities, especially the ash elements, are catalytic poisons that reduce the effectiveness of the catalyst. Therefore, carbon sorbents with 5-15% by weight of ash elements in their composition are not used in the above mentioned technologies. However, in such an important field as a gas-mask technique, carbon sorbents (active carbons) are carriers of catalytic additives, providing effective protection of a person against any types of potent poisonous substances (PPS). In ESPE “JSC "Neorganika" there has been developed the technology of unique ashless spherical carbon carrier-catalysts by the method of liquid forming of furfural copolymers with subsequent gas-vapor activation, brand PAC. Active carbons PAC have 100% qualitative characteristics of the three main properties of carbon sorbents: strength - 100%, the proportion of sorbing pores in the pore space – 100%, purity - 100% (ash content is close to zero). A particularly outstanding feature of active PAC carbons is their uniquely high mechanical compressive strength of 740 ± 40 MPa, which is 3-7 times larger than that of  such materials as granite, quartzite, electric coal, and is comparable to the value for cast iron - 400-1000 MPa. This allows the PAC to operate under severe conditions in moving and fluidized beds.  Obviously, it is time to actively develop catalysts based on PAC sorbents for oil refining, petrochemicals, gas processing and various technologies of organic synthesis.

Victor M. Mukhin was born in 1946 in the town of Orsk, Russia. In 1970 he graduated the Technological Institute in Leningrad. Victor M. Mukhin was directed to work to the scientific-industrial organization "Neorganika" (Elektrostal, Moscow region) where he is working during 47 years, at present as the head of the laboratory of carbon sorbents.     Victor M. Mukhin defended a Ph. D. thesis and a doctoral thesis at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (in 1979 and 1997 accordingly). Professor of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. Scientific interests: production, investigation and application of active carbons, technological and ecological carbon-adsorptive processes, environmental protection, production of ecologically clean food.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
