Our visit in September will be the first since Covid and the US border lockdown from the UK.

Any advice as to what to look for in a shuttle service especially reliability as do not not to wait after a long international flight . We would be happy to rent again from PHX if prices go down as have a Hertz gold card which has come in really handy in the past to bypass the lines at counter.

Any advice would be more then welcome. Thank you.

The other factor that plays into your savings is the time involved in getting the rental off site. Most off site rental agencies have limited hours so if arriving on a Friday/Saturday, you may not be able to get a rental in a timely manner. If the car rental agency doesn't open until 9 it eats a chunk of time out of your first morning or you may need to wait until Monday as many are closed on Sunday.

In addition to SuperShuttle, the airport has a list of providers of pre-arranged transportation you could use as a starting point: https://www.skyharbor.com/ground-transportation/taxis-shuttles/pre-arranged-transportation/

We usually just use SuperShuttle if we are busy and can't do the airport run when we have friends visit so I don't have anotherrecommendation from the airport list.

phoenix travel forum

We're trying to arrange our stay similarly for our next trip, David......

Oh, and if you go this route, always remember to tip the shuttle driver.....

Apologies for the late reply as Tripadvisor had locked me out of my account for past 2 days, hence losing years of posts.

Still open to renting from airport but only if price goes down for the shear convenience of it all as land at 5.05pm on a Wednesday. As we do not have Lyft in the UK as far as I know and Uber only operates inside of London, not happy to consider these. Not bothered sharing shuttle with others as very used to this after using public transport here. Just want the reliability.

Any further info would be very much appreciated, thanks all.

Just in case, now have 2 accounts on Tripadvisor as something has gone very badly wrong some where.

phoenix travel forum

FWIW if you are looking at SuperShuttle, Big Blue Van ( http://www.newbluevan.com/ ) offers a similar service, both shared and private rides. I have only used them once but they worked just fine.

Also with Uber/Lyft it depends on what time of day as the demand will drive the prices.

Thanks for all the suggestions, they have been really helpful.

We have until September to finalize our first and last hotels so will take everything into consideration.

You have all been so helpful, thank you.

Frontier Airlines restarts Phoenix flight to this California city. How to get a deal

phoenix travel forum

After announcing four new flights out of Phoenix already this year, Frontier Airlines continues to expand its service at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with the return of a suspended route.

The ultra-low-cost carrier is bringing back nonstop service to San Jose, California, one of five routes it announced Tuesday, May 21, out of Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. The Phoenix route is returning for the first time in three years.

It follows on the heels of four new Frontier flights in Phoenix this year, including Los Angeles and St. Louis ; Missoula, Montana ; and its first international destination from Phoenix, Los Cabos, Mexico .

And more flight options in Phoenix are springing up, including JSX's new route to Dallas ,  American Airlines' new flight to Provo, Utah ,  expanded flights to Mexico  and  JetBlue Airways' expanded East Coast routes  with business class seating.

When do Phoenix-San Jose flights on Frontier start?

Nonstop flights between Phoenix and San Jose will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024. Flights will operate once daily.

Frontier introduced Phoenix-San Jose flights in 2020 , its launch coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic and a sharp drop in air travel. It suspended the route in May 2021, according to airline spokesman Rob Harris.

Frontier will be the third airline to offer nonstop service to San Jose out of Phoenix. American Airlines and Southwest Airlines also fly between the two cities.

Phoenix to San Jose airfares on Frontier

Introductory base fares for the Phoenix-San Jose route start at $55 one way. Be aware that Frontier charges low base fares with additional fees for seat assignments, carry-on and checked bags and other amenities.

To get the lowest fares, book before 8:59 p.m. Arizona time on May 27 at  flyfr ontier.com .

Why is San Jose so famous?

San Jose is the largest city in Silicon Valley, California's technology hub. Apple, Google and Facebook are headquartered in the city's suburbs.

One of San Jose's tourist spots is the Winchester Mystery House , a 160-room mansion built by the heiress of Winchester Repeating Arms known for its oddities such as doors that open to walls and stairways that lead to the ceiling.

There's also the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum , which houses North America's largest collection of Egyptian artifacts; and a city park that features the world's largest Monopoly game.

Travelers rejoice over 1st Phoenix-Paris nonstop flight: 'I'm going to be so spoiled'

The Valley of the Sun now has a nonstop flight to the City of Light.

Air France’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner touched down on the runway at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for the first time at about 12:15 p.m. Thursday, May 23.

Just after 2:30 p.m., Air France Flight 69 took off with passengers bound for Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. It was the first Phoenix to Paris nonstop flight in Sky Harbor Airport history.

That flight was 97% full, said Boaz Hulsman, Air France vice president of commercial operations in North America. Hulsman said the launch of the new nonstop route was "long overdue."

Air France will fly the Phoenix-Paris route three times a week. Here's what to know about the flight's first day.

Is there a direct flight from Phoenix to France?

There is now.

Air France will operate nonstop flights from Phoenix to Paris, France, via Charles de Gaulle Airport three times weekly. Phoenix is the 17th U.S. destination the airline serves.

The airline recently announced it will continue offering the Phoenix-Paris flights into winter 2025.

Upon hearing from Hulsman that the first Phoenix-Paris flight was 97% full, Phoenix Aviation Services Director Chad Makovsky said he thought it made the case for Air France to eventually offer daily flights.

What days does Air France fly from Phoenix to Paris?

Air France will operate its Paris flights from Phoenix on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Flights leave Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport at 2:10 p.m. Arizona time and arrive in Paris at 9:15 a.m. Central European Time the next day. Flights to Phoenix leave Paris at 10:10 a.m. CET and arrive at Sky Harbor at 12:10 p.m. Arizona time.

The Boeing 787-9 plane used for the flights has 30 business class seats, 21 premium economy seats and 228 economy seats, according to Air France.

What passengers said about the new Phoenix-Paris flight

Passengers who flew on the inaugural flight included a mix of first-time travelers and people revisiting France for the first time in many years. Some were thrilled about how the new Phoenix-Paris nonstop eliminates layovers and cuts their travel time — 10 hours to Paris and 11 hours for the return flight.

Frederick Dormigny, who lived in Paris for 17 years and is now a metro Phoenix resident, traveled on the Air France flight as part of a larger trip to France and Poland. The trip is his first to Paris in two decades; when traveling from Phoenix in the past, getting to Paris required layovers in Atlanta, Los Angeles or Newark, New Jersey.

"It costs a little bit more, but you get there in 10 hours," he said. "If you go on a big vacation, it's 21 hours (round trip) versus 40 hours."

Marlene Simmons, a flight attendant for Air France in the early 1960s, traveled with her neighbor Joy Leach on the first flight. This trip marked Leach's first time going to Paris. The women, both residents of Sonoita, also planned to visit Luxembourg and Poland.

They found the flight special for different reasons. For Simmons, it was reconnecting with a beloved destination she hadn't visited in 40 years; for Leach, it was knowing her first visit to Paris would be on the first nonstop flight there from Phoenix.

"I'm going to be so spoiled," Leach said. "I hear all these stories about how it's 16 hours to (arrive in) France, and I'm going to be there in 10 hours. It's a bonus we get to be on the first nonstop flight from Phoenix."

New customizable items will be yours for the taking and each item slot has their own unique identity with spell gem sockets. These sockets come with exciting turbo-charged new effects similar to trinkets.

Each time you loot new items, you’ll have the chance for powerful new upgrades allowing you to push the limits further and faster than ever before with uncapped progression. As you progress, you’ll gradually become more and more powerful as items also grant increased permanent stats.

Don’t worry if you slot a gem into a slot and want to remove it, you’ll be able to add and remove gems easily. You’ll also be able to use Unraveling Sands to transform unwanted items to bronze.

You’ll find a few different types of gems to slot into your gear as you adventure through Pandaria including Meta Gems, Tinker Gems, and Cogwheel Gems. Here are a few examples of what you could find:

Cloak of Infinite Potential

Head to a bazaar in any zone to purchase everything from class transmogs, to Mists of Pandaria mounts, toys, and more. This allows players to purchase items that were previously unable to obtain or difficult to obtain as random drops by simply spending this new currency to add them to their account’s collection.
