Introducing Titan Travel

Titan will never compromise on quality. We continue to make every effort to ensure that, when you travel with us, you enjoy the holiday of a lifetime, every time. Every individual aspect of your holiday has been carefully considered to deliver the best ratio of quality and value, provide complete peace of mind and yet still satisfy the most adventurous travel spirit. The expert planning, choice of hotels and transportation methods, included excursions and the services of an expert Titan tour manager can really enhance your appreciation of a destination and transform an ordinary holiday into a truly inspiring one.

Many escorted holidays sold by British tour operators originate in the destination and are aimed at the international market, with multilingual commentaries, sweepingly general itineraries and local contracted hotels and tour managers. Titan holidays are different. They are expertly crafted in-house and are only on sale in the UK; our well-travelled product specialists know their destinations inside out and select the best hotels, airlines, trains and cruise vessels. Properly balanced itineraries, most unique to us, are designed to include excursions and visits of particular interest to British travelers as well as a number of free days when there is always a choice of relaxation or enjoyable things to do. And, in the majority of cases, Titan holidays are escorted by the best tour managers in the business.

Included on every Titan holiday

Door-to-door chauffeured transfers wherever you live in the UK with no mileage restrictions as part of the peerless VIP door-to-door travel service †

Free return regional flights and home transfers for customers in northern England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands

Direct scheduled international flights (wherever possible) with world-renowned airlines

The services of a Titan tour manager throughout † (unless stated otherwise)

Named hotels, selected for their location and quality, or carefully chosen cruise accommodation

Best available coaches with experienced drivers and daily seat rotation

Excursions and visits to those attractions which are obvious highlights of a region, clearly specified in the ‘What is included’ panels of the tour pages

A number of meals, also specified in the ‘What is included’ panels

A comprehensive airport check-in service at Heathrow and Gatwick

SkyCaps porterage at Heathrow and Gatwick

Porterage at hotels (one bag per person)

All applicable airport and port taxes, security charges and UK air Passenger Duty

Not included in our new range of essentials holidays.

Exceptional Value

Quality often comes with a price tag and, indeed, Titan has never striven to be the cheapest tour operator. What you get with us though is unparalleled value for money, with a host of inclusions as standard and a range of exclusive offers and discounts.

Traveling in style With Titan, not only does your holiday begin and end at your front door, it also includes scheduled international flights with world-renowned airlines and the most memorable form of touring transport. Where this is a coach, we look to provide the best available, with air-conditioning, w/c and daily seat rotation in the interests of fairness. But escorted tours are not simply limited to coaches. Titan is one of the UK’s leading rail specialists and a number of our holidays incorporate journeys on iconic trains, that seem to transport you not only through some of the most dramatic and beautiful landscapes in the world, but also back in time to a nostalgic ‘golden age’ of luxurious and stylish travel.

If you are undecided between the elegance and relaxation of a cruise and the enthralling insight of an escorted tour, Titan’s Cruise & Tour® holidays could be a perfect choice. You can cruise with some of the most respected names in the industry, including Fred.Olsen and Holland America, around regions of awe-inspiring beauty and head ashore for an extra land-based touring element. Alternatively, the waterways of Europe, Egypt and China link the most spectacular cultural gems in picturesque fashion and a river cruise is an outstanding way to appreciate wonderful destinations from a different and more relaxed perspective. Our river cruise partners include Uniworld, multi award-winning operator of 5★ boutique river cruises.

Included Excursions We don’t believe that our holidaymakers should pay extra for optional excursions to experience what are obviously the most important attractions of a country or region. You get much better value if they are included from the start. Unless otherwise stated, every visit mentioned in the tour itinerary is included in the cost of your holiday.

Quality named hotels and lodges Hotels on Titan holidays are much more than simply a place to sleep at the end of the day. They may place you at the heart of a thrilling city or in a retreat of sublime tranquillity; reflect the character and heritage of a destination or play an integral part in its social scene; present inspiring views or a range of exhilarating experiences. Location and quality are key considerations. At Titan, we always seek to provide the best of both choosing a lower priced holiday based on lower quality, more remote hotels can often be a false economy in the time and money you end up wasting during your stay.

Low or No Single Supplements

We are always looking at ways of minimizing or eliminating our single supplements. A number of tours featured on this website have low or no single supplements to pay.

The UK's best holiday price promise

It has always been a Titan principle that the earlier you book, the lower the price you pay. Our holiday price promise provides complete peace of mind – if we subsequently reduce the price to below what you have already paid (after any discounts have been applied), we will contact you to refund the difference†!

This guarantee applies to tour prices only (excluding all Traveller, by Titan holidays and any selected loyalty rewards we may offer to past travelers from time to time) and does not include airline upgrades, holiday additions, extended stays or regional connecting flights and selected special offer products.

Herd of Elephants in Botswana

These are Lion World Travel's must visit locations for the best Botswana safaris.

Lion watching Zebra in Chobe National Park, Botswana

Chobe National Park

The Chobe National Park is in northern Botswana and is known for its large herds of elephants as they converge along the banks of the Chobe River in the dry months to drink and play at the water's edge in their boisterous herds. The floodable grasslands of the Savuti Marsh attract numerous bird species, plus migrating zebras. Lions, antelopes, and hippos inhabit the woods and lagoons around Linyanti Marsh. Virtually all safaris to Botswana include a visit to Chobe National Park.

Elephant viewing in Chobe National Park, Botswana

Okavango Delta

Bordering the southern section of the famous Moremi Game Reserve this private concession is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog. One of the best ways to see the wildlife is in one of the locally made dugout canoes, known as a mokoro. Float around the waterways and lagoons that make up the delta, looking out for hippos and crocodiles in the water, but also getting a remarkable view of the plains game from a new and exciting angle. When it comes to Botswana luxury safaris, many of the best safari camps and lodges can be found in the Okavango.

Suggested Safari? Ultimate Botswana & Zambia

Mokoro Ride to a Bar, only in Botswana!

Moremi Game Reserve

The Moremi Reserve is situated at the heart of the Okavango Delta and was the first wildlife area to be protected by the local tribal people. Botswana wildlife is abundant in all the parks we mention here, yet Moremi remains a special wildlife haven that allows free movement of animals according to seasonal migration. Home to the most endangered species of large mammals: the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog, and lion. There are over 500 bird species and over a 1,000 species of plants. This ecosystem is amongst the richest in Africa.

Suggested Safari? Botswana for the Discerning Traveler

Spot Rare Wildlife in Botswana like Wild Dogs

Linyanti Wildlife Reserve

Linyanti is an excellent stop on a safari to Botswana. This enormous reserve is teeming in wildlife, covering an area of 481 square miles. The limited number of lodges and camps creates an unrivalled atmosphere of remoteness and vastness. Although the concession lies within the greater Chobe National Park, it has a distinctly different eco-system with the permanently flowing Linyanti River forming channels and lagoons which provide a permanent water source attracting wildlife all year long. During the dry winter months, the elephant population swells to several thousand.

Suggested Safari? Platinum Botswana

Giraffe walking in Water in Linyanti, Botswana

The Kalahari Desert

The Kalahari Desert is a large semi-arid sandy savannah. It covers much of Botswana, the eastern third of Namibia and the northernmost part of the Northern Cape Province in South Africa. The Kalahari Desert is not actually a desert in the as it receives too much rainfall (between 5 and 10 inches annually). The rain filters rapidly through the vast expanses of sand, leaving nothing on the surface, turning the Kalahari into the "thirstland". Arid-adapted game includes springbok, gemsbok (oryx), wildebeest, and kudu. Desert specialties such as meerkat, bat-eared foxes, cape fox and brown hyena can be found here too. All three African big cats can be found here as well – cheetah, leopard, and the famous black-maned Kalahari lions.

Botswana Luxury Safari Reviews

"We had a fantastic time touring Botswana using Lion World Travel and staying at the Belmond Lodges of Savute and Eagle Island.

We felt so cared for by being greeted and guided each step of the way, once we reached Johannesburg. The experience far exceeded any expectations we had. The experience of the guides, the comfort of the lodges and the vast number of animals that we got to sit and enjoy at length were all more than we expected.

Sable Antelope in Botswana

This was a trip of a lifetime and we definitely took a step up in the pamper level and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our kids, 17 and 20, both were awed by the experience and expressed how glad they were that they were old enough to truly appreciate it and take it all in. We were happily surprised that Belmond Savute had filtererd water throughout and that there was wifi available, which we hadn't expected.

The guides were truly amazing. We loved hearing about how they ended up as guides, where they grew up and the vast knowledge they had about life with the animals. It was way more than just seeing animals and checking off what you had seen. We had time to sit and get to know the animals and watch their behaviors. We never got tired of watching them move, interact and even play.

Can't say enough about this trip".

Game drive, Chobe National Park

Day 1 to 2 – Chobe National Park

Arrive into Kasane where you will be picked up in a safari vehicle. Soon you will be off-road so keep that camera ready! Your home for the next two nights is the luxury Chobe Game Lodge which enjoys a peaceful riverfront setting within the Chobe National Park.

On morning and afternoon game drives, look out for the diverse wildlife including the famous herds of elephant, whilst an afternoon river cruise in a nearly silent electric boat, allows close encounters with river life as well as a magical sunset over a drink.

Savuti, Botswana

Day 3 to 4 – Savuti

Transfer to Kasane airport and board your light aircraft for a scenic flight to Savuti. The plane leaves the snaking Chobe River behind and turns inland over drier bushland punctuated by the occasional waterhole. Touch down 45 minutes later at the airstrip and transfer to Savute Safari Lodge which has beautiful thatched chalets overlooking a waterhole which attracts a large variety of wildlife.

Game drives incorporate a visit to the Savute Marsh, a vast open grasslands which attract large herds and in turn, the predators including the well documented ‘Marsh Pride’ of lions. Guests can also enjoy a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills.

Ghoha Hills

Mokoro safari, Okavango Delta

Day 5 to 6 – Okavango Delta

Today’s 35-minute flight will pass over more beautiful landscapes as the bush slowly gives way to the watery wilderness that is the Okavango Delta. Treacle coloured rivers meander their way through flooded grasslands studded with islands. A short walk from the airstrip, Camp Okavango is a hidden treasure built entirely on raised wooden platforms that showcase the beautiful delta scenery.

During your two nights, experience that most iconic of Okavango activities, a makoro trip that will glide you through reed-lined channels and across shallow lagoons looking out for wildlife

Tailor-made Botswana Holidays

A safari in Botswana is like no other. Not only is the destination unrivalled for wildlife but it also hosts some of the smartest lodges out there. Hidden in private pockets of romantic wilderness, these East-African style camps and slick, sustainable outposts are designed to make you feel like the savannah is yours alone to explore. And yes, it may be expensive, but the space and the silence are privileges worth paying for.

The Okavango Delta, Botswana’s watery heartland, sparkles so brightly under the warm African sun, it almost feels like a mirage. Arriving by Cessna aircraft fuels the bubbling anticipation, with a birds-eye view of the sprawling wetlands, so verdant and wild you feel as though you’ve stumbled upon uncharted land. Here, everything is off-road. There’s not one person to be seen nor any engine noise to drown out the sound of chattering birds. Paddling silently through the lily pads in a traditional mokoro canoe allows you to get closer to the smaller, less conspicuous wildlife like tiny marbled reed frogs and great swooping fish eagles that make their home among the reed-studded waterways. On the Delta’s eastern side, Moremi, a spellbinding game reserve is full of roaming big cats and wild dogs to track. The Chobe National Park is where you can explore in zero-emission 4×4 vehicles and riverboats to spot herds of elephant shambling to the riverbank and hippo grunting in the lagoons.

In the northern Kalahari Desert, the Makgadikgadi feels otherworldly. Its ephemeral salt pans, some so large they’re visible from space, transform into lunar landscapes with blinding white salt crust that crunches underfoot. During the rains, the pans turn into turquoise pools drawing vast numbers of wildlife including flocks of bright pink flamingoes and migratory zebra who make their 250km linear pilgrimage to graze on the palm-studded grassland. It’s the perfect place for a unique safari; exploring ancient terrain with the Zu’Hoasi bushmen under gaping big skies.

Botswana is as remote as it is exclusive, so a chat with a destination insider will help you get your head around the finer details of how to access Africa’s undisputed safari champion.

Our Botswana Travel Guide is a good place to start planning with essential travel information, when to travel and how best to get around. Or get familiar with Botswana’s diverse landscapes with our interactive map  and regional guides.

He founded Helicopter Horizons in 2004, offering photographic flights - without doors - for organisations such as the BBC and National Geographic. The company now offer scenic flights for tourists in the Okavango Delta, Linyanti region and the Makgadikgadi Pans, as well as transfers between safari camps.

Tipping: Tipping is discretionary in Botswana although it is customary to tip your safari guide and tracker separately at the end of your stay. Specific guidelines are normally available from the lodge manager, however USD$10-20 per person per day is usual for your safari guide, and USD$5 per person per day for your tracker. If you take a mokoro trip, your poler should also be tipped and USD$5 per activity is reasonable. When staying in lodges, there is often a large team behind the scenes, including housekeepers, chefs and waiters so a contribution to the general staff box will ensure that they too are rewarded.

Etiquette:  Along with democracy, unity, self-reliance and development, Botswana’s fifth national principle is botho . Showing good manners, being helpful and politeness are all examples of botho . By respecting others, you will earn respect back. Always greet elders first and you should remove your hat before entering a building. When shaking hands, the left hand should be put on the right elbow. Ask permission before taking photos of people and do not take photos of government buildings, military personnel or at any political demonstrations.

Religions: Introduced into Botswana in the late 1800s, Christianity is the main religion.  Many people still include some practices of the traditional indigenous religion of Badimo. Badimo are spiritual ancestors and the Batswana will communicate through them to their supreme being. Badimo are believed to be present in daily lives and, in order to keep them happy, you may see locals placing food at a table for them.

Visas: You can look up the latest advice on https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/botswana . Please be aware that this information can change at short notice.

Vaccinations: Health risks vary depending on the destination so it’s essential to check the specific vaccination and hygiene requirements for Botwswana on the NHS Fit for Travel website .

Botswana can be visited year-round although most people opt for the dry season between May to September. Ironically, it is during the dry season that the Okavango Delta is in full flood as it takes several months after the rainy season for the rising waters of the delta to emerge.

The rainy season is from December to February. Also known as the green season, rates in lodges are lower at this time and the birding is excellent.  This is one of the best times to visit the Makgadikgadi as the salt pans fill with water, attracting flocks of flamingos and drawing in the second biggest zebra migration.

Maun is the main gateway for the Okavango Delta and Kasane provides access to Chobe National Park. The easiest way to connect between the national parks is by light aircraft. These air transfers are regular and frequent although you may stop at other lodges along the way.  It’s a great way of seeing the geography of the country, especially when the Okavango Delta is in full flood. From the dirt airstrips it’s normally a short game drive to your accommodation.

Safaris are conducted in 4×4 vehicles or by boat on the Chobe River. Exploring the Okavango Delta can be done in a traditional dug-out canoe known as a mokoro. Lying low in the water, the mokoro is steered through the narrow water channels by a poler.

For those extending their Botswana adventure to Victoria Falls, there is a good road link between Chobe National Park and the falls.

Whilst on safari, all meals are generally included and you will be amazed at the amount of food that can be served in the remotest of locations. A typical day starts with tea and cookies before your early morning game drive, followed by coffee and cake during your safari and that’s before returning to the lodge for a massive brunch.  Prior to heading off on your afternoon drive or boat cruise, there is normally a high tea with home-baked treats. Whilst on safari a picturesque spot is found to watch the setting sun as you indulge in a gin and tonic or a chilled local St Louis beer. When you return to camp, pre-dinner drinks are served by the fire. Evening meals could be international cuisine or a traditional braai (barbecue). You may get to try seswaa, the national dish of Botswana. This meat stew is often served with pap (polenta) and a delicious spicy onion and tomato relish.

Botswana’s biggest shopping malls can be found in the capital Gaborone, although very few tourist itineraries go through the city. As the focus of the destination is safari, shopping opportunities are limited. Many camps and lodges will have a small curio shop selling safari khaki essentials as well as local handicrafts. Near to Maun and Kasane airports you will find the usual tourist gift shops. The most popular purchases are wooden carvings, basketware, textiles and beaded jewellery. Artwork influenced by the San rock art paintings can be found on pottery trinkets.

Botswana is famous for its diamonds and, if you are thinking of purchasing, only go to authorised dealers who will provide a certificate showing its value and origin.  You will need to declare purchases with customs officers.

Whilst most guests spend little time in Botswana’s towns as they tend to be used as transit hubs before their safari, there are a few festivals worthy of note in the Botswana calendar.

The Maun Festival is normally held in April and features poetry, dance and music. In July there is a national holiday to celebrate President’s Day. Many people return to their hometowns for celebrations and military parades takes place throughout the country. Botswana Day on 30th September, marks independence from the United Kingdom and is celebrated with street parties. With Christianity being the main religion, Christmas is the time for families to gather and a chance for local choirs to showcase their vocal skills.

Hidden Treasures of Sardinia

Tom our Tour Manager was excellent. His knowledge of the island and is organisational skills were very good. Unfortunately, the quality of the hotels and food provided fell well below the standard expected on a Titan tour. Many visits seemed to be wasting time to delay arrival at hotel, eg The Bandit Museum in Aggius and Porto Cervo. Finally we did not pass Tharros, which was part of the itinerary.

Jewels of Spain

Very disappointed with this holiday as we were inundated with 100’s of Spanish children taking part in a football tournament at our first hotel. They were badly behaved and the adults with them were only interested in drinking . Complaints to management were useless . Saga/Titan say they have no control over other guests staying there but as this is an annual event another hotel should have been used for June holidays. The final hotel was overrun with 300+ children and teachers.Though they were better behaved the noise generated by that number is horrendous . Children around a pool are exuberant and run and jump everywhere which is to be expected but as an older group it didn’t make for a relaxing holiday. The hotels and included trips were very good and if you were to go any month other than June it would be a lovely holiday

Grand Canadian Coast to Coast

Grand Canadian Coast to Coast This was our first "escorted' holiday and it very clearly demonstrated the benefits. No worries for us, a door to door service, and a tour manager (Alex) who took everyone's wishes, and needs, on board. The itinerary was ambitious and despite the weather making some things difficult, more than adequately fulfilled. If we had tried a self-drive version we would have missed doing so much. We'll definitely be doing a Titan tour again.

Hi Suzanne, Thanks for taking the time to share such a great review of your trip to Canada. It sounds like you had a wonderful experience and that Alex did a great job showing you all the sights. We look forward to you joining us again on another Titan adventure, Best Wishes, Nick Titan Travel

Deluxe Rocky Mountaineer and Alaskan Cruise

We have just returned from a Rocky Mountaineer and Alaskan Inside Passage cruise on the Konigsdam Holland America ship. The whole experience from arriving in Calgary to our departure from Vancouver 18 days later was so well organised. Our guide John Allen was amazing too, he worked 'above and beyond' and we can't speak highly enough of him and would thank him so much. His knowledge of every area was second to none. ,

Rocky Mountaineer and Alaska Cruise

Rocky Mountaineer and Alaska Cruise Much variety was packed into a very enjoyable 17 day holiday. John Allen’s depth of knowledge and experience enhanced our enjoyment considerably not just in providing “local” knowledge but in the very efficient handling of all the administrative arrangements. We booked the holiday through Saga, unaware that it was a Titan holiday, although it transpired that the two companies are, to all intents and purposes, one and the same. While away it became clear that those who had booked through Titan had received information not available to us prior to the trip. That might explain why we were surprised to incur so much additional cost on hotel breakfasts and evening meals that were not included and the level of tips which were over and above our expectations. Jane & Richard

Deluxe Alaskan voyage and Rocky…

Deluxe Alaskan voyage and Rocky Mountaineer: we have just completed the last day of our tour which has packed a lot into the 17days in Canada. Excellent tour manager, John, had a huge amount of experience and knowledge of the areas we visited which enhanced our holiday experience. Our only criticism was that breakfast was not always included and many activities cost extra. On the whole, though, we felt the tour was well organised and that we now know a lot more about North West Canada, Alaska, its history, wildlife and culture.

Hi Philip, Thanks for sharing your review. It sounds like you had a wonderful experience exploring Alaska and Canada with John and the team. Thanks for your comments and suggestions, these are important to us as we strive to continually improve our tours. We look forward to you joining us on another Titan adventure, Best Wishes, Deb Titan Travel

Excellent tour guide

Excellent tour guide, Karen Macguire, she was a star 🌟 The Andaluccia tour was excellent, covering all of the places well even though a bit hectic at times due to short time in some places.

Our honest opinion of our Tuscan Experience

We recently experienced the Essence of Tuscany tour 12 - 19th June. Our first hotel the Montecatini Palace - was a very far fetched description of a palace! Our room was absolutely awful, dingy, small, one small old fashioned wardrobe, no coffee making facilities, awful decor, hot and stuffy with two small single beds. So we asked if they had a better room and we were given the family room on the top floor with fine views with opening windows to let in some light and air. The restaurant was super though and the staff were very good with preparing special meals for my gluten/egg free diet. They went out of their way to accommodate me. The itinerary was full on with little time for rest in between visits to the beautiful countryside and hill top villages that surround the area. I am sure some of the older guests would have welcomed a little later starts to the days out. But we saw a lot and the local guides in Florence, Lucca and Siena were very informative. Unfortunately, the bus/coach that we travelled on for the first 3 days was rather elderly and the driver had one or two problems with it, in as much as it was worn out. He struggled to get reverse gear getting us out of the airport, the air-conditioning was useless, the seats were collapsing and the noise from the underside of the bus was quite worrying. We thought we were about to brake down any minute. I would have expected better from Titan. The information we got from Titan was incorrect in as much as it had changed from the original. The times and days were altered without us being informed, which was not very useful. I do not think we would use Titan again.

Southern Sights & Sounds

I have Just returned from the Southern Sights & Sounds tour which I thoroughly enjoyed. The size of the group was perfect & my fellow travellers were great company. The tour manager Steve Pritchard did a great job organising the trips & timings giving us the right amount of time to make the most out of our tours. The printed sheets that Steve handed out every couple of days were extremely useful & gave us a clear idea of timings etc. Nothing was too much trouble for Steve or Ron (our driver) & between them the transferring of our cases to our rooms & back on to the bus was well organised. The tour lived up to my expections. I found the mix of the social history & the music was well balanced. Thank you to Steve, Ron & my fellow travellers for making my holiday such a great one.

Hi Sue, Thanks so much for sharing such a great review of your recent trip. We're delighted to hear that you had a fabulous time and that Steve, Ron and the team did such a great job. Don't try calling after reserving/ booking

Very quick to answer the phone when you are interested in booking your tour/ holiday. Very hard to get an answer once you have done that! The 'let us call you back' service does not work. I next gave up after 8 mins because dinner was ready. Today I was determined to wait the call out but again gave up after 25min and 20 seconds. Sorry guys, you've lost this booking! Edit: As you replied to me Deb, I was on the phone for another 22 minutes and it was answered by the Katrina. She answered all my queries and promised to call back to take my deposit. Which she has not done 36hrs later. Titan staff appear to be vastly over-worked and unable to give the support that they would like to give.

Hi Mike, We're really sorry to hear about your booking experience. This is clearly not the kind of feedback we hope to receive. If you could please send your contact details through to [email protected], our agents will contact you directly to assist further. We do hope that we can answer your queries and that you will still consider us for your next trip, Best Wishes, Deb Titan Travel

Southern Sights and Sounds

The holiday was excellent. We shared some amazing experiences with a great group. The organisation of the tour was key to our enjoyment. The Tour Manager, Steve Pritchard, was very organised, producing detailed information so we knew what was happening each day. He managed every aspect of the holiday and did it with a smile and enthusiasm. Our only criticism of the holiday was with the admin prior to departure. Titan provide excellent holidays but their admin (responses to emails and phone calls) is poor. More staff and swift communication with customers is needed. If this improves they would get five stars!

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to share your review. We're so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time and that Steve and the team did such a great job. Your comments regarding the administration will be passed to the relevant teams for their information and review and we thank you for feeding this back to us. Titan quick response to issue…

Following on from our review regarding lack of urgency from Titan after our original holiday had been cancelled. The next day Titan got in touch, apologised for what had happened and assured us that they would sort another date for us asap. This they did with our agent within 48 hours and we are now very pleased and have confidence that our holiday experience with Titan in Kenya will be amazing.

Hi, Thanks so much for taking the time to update your review We're so pleased that our agents were able to resolve your issues and restore your faith in us. We hope you have a wonderful time exploring Kenya, Best Wishes, Deb Titan Travel

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID I booked a holiday with Titan Travel including door to door road transfers, with a departure of 14.00 British Airways from Heathrow. Just before final payment in May 2024 Titan changed the departure to 07.00 Easyjet from London Gatwick. I live 112 miles from Heathrow. Gatwick is even further away. I complained to Titan and the booking agent that the change of carrier, seven hour difference of departure time and airport, was unacceptable. I was advised by Titan and the booking agent to organise travel the day before and pay for a hotel. I booked a holiday for a specific departure date. Not the day before. I am a typical older, single client that SAGA/Titan specialise in. I emailed my complaint direct to Titan. Titan eventually responded, not to me, but to my booking agent. Titan alleged they had tried to contact me by phone and told the agent they were “not lucky” in getting hold of me. Luck is not part of a £3000 contract for a holiday. I have no record of missed calls on my phone and no voice mail from Titan. Titan advised verbally via the agent the flight change was insignificant and part of their Terms and conditions, and there was nothing they would do further. Titan seems to think there is no difference between a daytime three hour road transfer to Heathrow for 11.00 check in and sleepless overnight, four hour minimum, road transfer to Gatwick for a 04.00 check in. Titan have a complete disregard and dismissive attitude to their customers. They do not respond directly to a complaint. The flight change completely compromises wellbeing in the first days of the holiday, stressful and totally disruptive. And Titan think this is fine. Titan is an appalling operator to be avoided, they do not respond to direct complaints and advertise/sell misleading flight times designed to entice the elderly SAGA customer. Avoid Titan.

We do hope that we can go some way to restoring your faith in us, Best Wishes, Deb Titan Travel

Great tours once you get to your destination.

Have now enjoyed more than 10 Titan Tours since 2012. As usual our most recent tour- Southern Sights and Sounds- was well planned with a variety of excursions and activities. Our Tour Manager, Steve Pritchard, supplied written information of both daily and forthcoming timings. He gave up his own time to familiarise guests with the locations we were staying at as well as making suggestions for where to eat and how to spend free time. We were on this tour as the extended Southern Sights tour we had booked was cancelled, without an explanation, two months before we were due to travel. Fortunately our Travel Councillor, unlike us, was able to obtain prompt responses from Customer Services, rebook a new Tour and resolve any queries we had. Unlike some other companies, Titan do not reward loyal customers and do not provide incentives to book directly with them. Given the appalling number of complaints about the Customer Services Department I would advise people to book via a Travel Agent.

Absolutely first class experience on my recent Deluxe Alaskan Voyage.everything ran smoothly and our tour guide John Allen was excellent throughout. His organisation, interesting information and good humour all added to a memorable holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for him. As a company I would be more than happy to use Titan again in the future.

Southern sights and sound

This was our first tour with Titan. The Southern sights and sounds. Steve Pritchard was our Tour manager. From the moment we met at the airport nothing was too much trouble. The Tour it self was packed, so much to see in such a short time, Steve's words""this is a tour not a holiday". But having said that we came back full of Southern history and would have never have seen so much. My personal favourite was an evening at the Grand Ole Oprey, was everything I hoped and more!. Downside, came back a few kgs heavier.

Hi Helen, Thanks for taking the time to share such a great review for your recent Southern Sights and Sounds trip. It sounds like you had a fun packed time and that you made some great memories with Steve and the team. We look forward to helping you with your future travel plans, Best Wishes, Nick Titan Travel

Just had a fantastic week in…

Just had a fantastic week in Sorrento/Amalfi coast. The trips to Sorrento, Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi and Capri were wonderful! Also did additional trips on the land train and to Herculaneum which were also great. Hotel (grand hermitage) was lovely and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our tour manager Michele was second to none.

Titan Travel Hidden Treasures of Sardinia

We had a large group of people who all got on and were led by our Tour Manager Tom Doveston who was amazing. He made the tour great fun and the itinerary was varied and interesting. We had a few local guides too in Cagliari and Alghero who went into the history of Sardinia. All the hotels we were in were fine. Only one had a kettle for tea & coffee and that was in Oristano. Nowadays we get used to making our drinks when we return from excursions. Apart from that, great coach travel around the island, the Agriturismo (farm visits) were lovely. The food and people gave us more of an insight into Sardinia. Cagliari was an amazing capital city to explore, Alghero was a beautiful place. Personally I would like to stay longer there. The last hotel, Hotel Marana has an amazing pool and the beach is a 10-minute walk. The Marina is just a bit further where you’ll find a souvenir shop, restaurants, gelato and a supermarket nearby. Marinella station is a 5-minute walk from this hotel and the train takes 15 minutes to get into Olbia which is worth doing. We also added an extra 3 nights at the end of this group tour to stay longer and relax or explore a bit more on our own. We booked this extension with Titan at the time of booking the holiday. We also want to say how great Becky was on booking this for us with the extension. So lovely, friendly and did everything we asked. Anyway we thoroughly recommend this holiday and if you get Tom Doveston to be your tour Manager it will be your lucky day. He is the Hidden Treasure on this trip! Nothing is too much trouble and he is always in control and doesn’t flap. Thank you Tom and also to our fellow travellers for making this so enjoyable.

Titan/Saga: Mobility required for Level 2 holidays

Hi Deb. Thank you for your response to my review. However, I’m afraid you have missed the point I was making in respect of mobility. It is not Saga giving advice, it is people being in denial of their mobility and booking inappropriate tours. On our recent tour, some folk were clearly in denial about their mobility and booked a level 2 holiday when it was clearly beyond their ability to walk at a moderate pace. This became a issue for those quite rightly wanting to enjoy the holiday they had booked. Hence my comment about the tour guide’s authority being made clear in holiday confirmation.

UN Tells Israel It Will Suspend Aid Operations Across Gaza Without Improved Safety

Israeli soldiers look at pictures of revelers killed on Oct. 7, 2023

WASHINGTON — Senior U.N. officials have warned Israel that they will suspend the world body's aid operations across Gaza unless Israel acts urgently to better protect humanitarian workers , two U.N. officials said Tuesday. The ultimatum is the latest in a series of U.N. steps demanding Israel do more to safeguard aid operations from strikes by its forces and to curb growing lawlessness hindering humanitarian workers.

A U.N. letter sent to Israeli officials this month said Israel must provide U.N. workers with a way to communicate directly with Israeli forces on the ground in Gaza, among other steps, the officials said.

They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss ongoing negotiations with Israeli officials. The U.N. officials said there has been no final decision on suspending operations across Gaza and that talks with Israelis were ongoing.

Israeli military officials did not respond to requests for comment. Israel has previously acknowledged some military strikes on humanitarian workers, including an April attack that killed seven workers with the World Central Kitchen , and has denied allegations of others.

Citing security concerns, the U.N. World Food Program has already suspended aid delivery from a U.S.-built pier designed to bring food and other emergency supplies to Palestinians who are facing starvation amid the eight-month war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

U.N. and other aid officials have complained for months that they have no way to communicate quickly and directly with Israeli forces on the ground, in contrast with the usual procedures — known as “deconfliction” — employed in conflict zones globally to protect aid workers from attack by combatants.

In its letter to Israeli officials, the U.N. cited communication and protective equipment for aid workers as among the commitments that it wanted Israel to make good on for its aid operations to continue in Gaza overall, the two U.N. officials say.

The U.N. said in April that about 30 humanitarian workers have been killed in the line of duty in Gaza since the war between Israel and Hamas began in October.

The U.N. and other humanitarian organizations also complain of increasing crime in Gaza and have urged Israel to do more to improve overall security for their operations from attack and theft. The lawlessness has stymied what Israel said was a daily pause in fighting to allow a new safe corridor to deliver aid into southern Gaza, with humanitarian officials saying groups of gunmen are regularly blocking convoys, holding drivers at gunpoint and rifling through their cargo.

On top of that, “missiles hit our premises, despite being deconflicted,” said Steve Taravella, a spokesman for the World Food Program, one of the main organizations working on humanitarian delivery in Gaza. He was not one of those confirming the U.N. threat to suspend operations across the territory. “WFP warehouses have been caught in the crossfire twice in the past two weeks.”

Humanitarian officials said conditions for civilians and aid workers have worsened further since early May when Israel launched an offensive in the southern city of Rafah, where many aid groups had their base. The operation has crippled what had been a main border crossing for food and other aid.

Aid workers trying to get shipments through the main remaining crossing, Kerem Shalom, face risks from fighting, damaged roads, unexploded ordnance and Israeli restrictions, including spending five or more hours a day waiting at checkpoints, Taravella said.

“Restoring order is crucial for an effective humanitarian response to meet soaring needs. U.N. agencies and others need a safe environment to be able to access people and scale up,” he said.

Israeli officials say the problems at Kerem Shalom are a matter of poor U.N. logistics.

Separately, the United Nations has also suspended cooperation with the U.S.-built pier since June 9, a day after the Israeli military used the area around the pier in a hostage rescue that killed more than 270 Palestinians .

While U.S. and Israeli officials said no part of the pier itself was used in the raid that rescued four hostages taken by Hamas, U.N. officials said any perception in Gaza that the project was used in the Israeli military operation may endanger their aid work.

The U.N. has finished a security assessment of the pier operation following the raid but has not yet made a decision on resuming any delivery of supplies from the U.S.-built structure, according to a humanitarian official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details that have not yet been released publicly.

Speaking to reporters traveling with a U.S. delegation to a gathering of defense chiefs in Botswana on Tuesday, an official with the U.S. Agency for International Development expressed optimism that aid deliveries from the pier would eventually resume.

“I think it’s a question of when the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) can provide, and the government of Israel can provide, the assurances that the U.N. is seeking on deconfliction and security right now,” said Isobel Coleman, deputy administrator of USAID, which has been working with the World Food Program on aid distribution from the pier.

AP reporters Melanie Lidman in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Lolita C. Baldor in Gaborone, Botswana contributed. Magdy reported from Cairo.
