DOT-DOLE 1st Philippine Tourism Job Fair pre-registration now open, more than 7k jobs available to tourism job seekers- Sec. Frasco
Pre-registration for the first three legs of the Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso! Philippine Tourism Job Fair, the flagship employment program of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), is now open to prospective job seekers as announced by Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.
“To further assist our kababayans and make their job-seeking experience more seamless at the Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso! Philippine Tourism Job Fair, the DOT and DOLE have opened the pre-registration for all three legs of the fair, covering one step of the application process. This enables the job seekers to focus instead on the core of the event, getting to know the participating establishments and companies and determining the career openings they wish to pursue,” Secretary Frasco said.
Interested applicants for the Manila leg, which will run from September 22 to 24 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, in Pasay City, can register via https://bit.ly/philtourismjobfair
While job seekers for the Cebu leg, which will be held from September 22 to 23 only, at the SM City Cebu, can pre-register at https://bit.ly/cebuphiltourismjobfair
For the Davao leg, which will run from September 22 to 23 at Abreeza Mall Davao, job hunters can register ahead of time at https://bit.ly/davaophiltourismjobfair
A total of 7,510 job vacancies, from 147 establishments across the three major locations from the accommodation establishments, travel and tour services, Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) facilities and organizers, tourist transport operators, health and wellness services, restaurant/food service and other tourism-related establishments as of Thursday (Sept. 16) will be open to interest applicants during the initial run of the job fair.
A total of 3,367 jobs from the National Capital Region (NCR), CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA will be offered during the Manila leg, while Cebu and Davao will open 1,633 and 2,510 jobs from the Visayas and Mindanao, respectively.
“While the DOT continues to work towards President Bongbong Marcos’ vision for tourism to contribute greatly to our country’s economic resurgence, we fully understand the need for this to be met with efforts to fortify the tourism and allied industry workforce. We could not be more grateful enough to the DOLE, the local government units (LGUs), and all our partners in the private sector who have supported us in this important endeavor to bring back lost jobs and to present a multitude of new opportunities for employment and greener pastures in the tourism industry to our fellow Filipinos,” Secretary Frasco added.
The Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso! Philippine Tourism Job Fair will open on September 22 at 8:00 AM, with simultaneous opening ceremonies in all three locations starting* at 10:00 AM.
The Manila leg of the job fair will coincide with the Hotels Supplier Show, after Global-Link MP, one of the private sector partners of the DOT and DOLE, allotted more than 50 free booths for the job fair.

DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- A cultural peace hub project at Magsaysay Park in Davao City got second prize for Mindanao in the Tourism Champions Challenge (TCC).
The TCC is a flagship project of the Department of Tourism (DOT), where local government units across the country will propose and submit innovative tourism infrastructure projects that aim to foster sustainability, inclusivity, and resilience in tourism development, enhance local destinations and communities, and provide added economic opportunity for communities.
“The TCC has sought to empower local government units to conceptualize and develop projects that will create new tourism opportunities, create accessibility, and showcase our unique Filipino heritage,” said DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco during the awarding held on April 15 in Manila.
The Davao City LGU submitted the proposal entitled Panunod: A Way of Life, Inherited Preservation of the Unwavering Legacy of Cultural and Sustainable Tourism of Davao City.
The project involves the creation of a cultural peace hub for the Indigenous and Bangsamoro communities. It will establish a centralized cultural center and sustainable communities dedicated to showcasing economic opportunities for the arts and products of the city’s 11 ethnolinguistic tribes.
For bagging second place, Davao City will receive P15 million plus an additional P5 million to jumpstart the project.
The TCC first placers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will receive P20 million each; the second placers will get P15 million each; P10 million each for the third placers; P8 million for the fourth place; and P7 million for the fifth place. An additional P5 million each for the 15 winning LGUs, courtesy of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who approved the grant of an additional cash prize through the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), will also be given.
“Each winner deserves this additional reward towards building infinite capabilities to make everything better,” President Marcos said during his speech at the awarding ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Isabela City of Basilan Province bagged the first prize for Mindanao with their Lampinigan SANDS (Sustainable and Natural Destination of the South): The Lampinigan Jetty Port and Leisure Development Project.
Aside from Davao City, two other LGUs in Davao Region were among the five Mindanao winners. These include the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte’s IGACOS Mangrove Boardwalk and Gallery, which bagged the third prize and will receive P10 million in addition to the President’s P5 million prize.
Tagum City, Davao del Norte’s Truly Tagum: Advancing the Benefits of an Enriched Heritage-Tourism Circuit got the fourth prize and will receive P8 million and President’s additional P5 million prize. (RGA/PIA Davao)
