Awesome performance by Trace Adkins and his band last night in Wisconsin Dells. That was my early birthday present to myself because he will be performing on West Coast in Mid -February

Wish there were more shows closer to where I live. I'd be able to attend more often.

Trace Adkins Kicks Off His Tour by Rocking the Ryman — See Photos from the Sold-Out Night!

It was a memorable night for Adkins during his sold-out return to the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville since 2012 on April 8. The show marked the beginning of his The Way I Wanna Go tour — and featured a special surprise from pal Terri Clark

Starting Things Off Right

Adkins kicking off The Way I Wanna Go tour at Ryman Auditorium.

"We only really had that first [COVID] year where we didn't play much at all," he tells PEOPLE. "Last year, we did a few shows here and there, granted it didn't feel exactly the same. It's going to be great to get out and have people in the audience having fun and showing their pretty faces."

Belting It Out

Adkins sings his just-certified gold single "Every Light in the House."

Mixing Things Up

As for what fans can expect from this show-run, Adkins says, "We'll do the hits, we'll do the songs they've heard on the radio over the years. We know that's what they come to hear. And then to entertain ourselves we'll throw in a few things off of the new album!"

A Fan-Filled Performance

Adkins performing for the sold-out Ryman Auditorium crowd.

Getting His 'Honky Tonk' On

Adkins performs triple-platinum "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk."

A Sweet Surprise

Adkins was surprised with news of a career milestone by friend and fellow country music singer Terri Clark.

Going Gold — and Platinum!

After Clark surprised Adkins on stage, she helped Adkins' producer and label head Mickey Jack Cones present Adkins with plaques to commemorate his new RIAA certifications. His track "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," is officially certified triple platinum, while "Every Light in the House Is On," "Songs About Me" and "Swing" are certified gold.

Taking a Moment

Adkins reflects on his career milestone.

Fan Photobomb!

Adkins surprises the Ryman Auditorium's daily-tour guests with a photobomb.

Love for the Ryman

To Adkins, the Ryman is a special place.

"First of all, it is probably the most historical music venue in this country, and turns 130 years old this year," he says. "Everybody has played here."

Taking It All In

"The Ryman is just an institution — it has such history, such a spirit, and you can feel it when you are onstage. I like how this room sounds. It's a great place to play."

BLAKE SHELTON IS BACK WITH “FRIENDS AND HEROES 2021” TOUR

Blake Shelton

Country music superstar Blake Shelton will make his long-anticipated return to the road alongside his friends and heroes beginning August 18. The boot-stomping, hit-making, arena-selling entertainer will visit 16 cities for a 17-date run, including a stop at Nashville’s own Bridgestone Arena and a two-night residency in Washington D.C. “Friends and Heroes 2021” will welcome very special guest Lindsay Ell, with special appearances by Martina McBride, Tracy Byrd and Trace Adkins.

“A little over a year ago when the world shut down and we had to postpone the tour, I was already in Omaha getting ready for the show that night,” Shelton said. “I told you we would be back, and I’m thrilled to say we are kicking off the Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour in Omaha. I’m giving everybody in every city plenty of notice – you might as well tell your boss you’re gonna be late to work the next day and pay that babysitter overtime, because we are going to play some country music for y’all until they turn on the lights. And that might not stop us! I’m excited to welcome Martina McBride, Tracy Byrd, Trace Adkins and my very special guest Lindsay Ell to the Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour… see you there!”

ABOUT LINDSAY ELL

Lauded as “one of the most exciting and talented young artists in country music” ( Forbes ), Lindsay Ell is a triple threat:  accomplished musician, unique vocalist and awe-inspiring songwriter. The Calgary native learned to play guitar while traveling with her father to country-bluegrass camps as a young girl. Ell honed her craft as a musical stylist and songwriter after being discovered by BTO and The Guess Who’s Randy Bachman (“American Woman” / “Taking Care of Business”) who discovered her at the age of 13. The multi-instrumentalist was soon touring alongside the likes of Luke Bryan, Buddy Guy and Keith Urban. Ell also shared the stage with distinguished country group, Little Big Town, along with other powerhouse female artists in one the biggest moments of the 2019 CMA Awards where she was also nominated for Musical Event of the Year. Ell’s nominations do not stop there. She has been nominated for New Female Artist of the Year in both 2019 and 2020, in addition to her 2020 ACM nomination of Music Event of the Year. Ell also won 2020 CCMA Interactive Artist or Group of the Year for the second year in a row. These wins and nominations are well earned after Ell exhilarated audiences as part of Keith Urban’s Graffiti U World Tour, Brantley Gilbert’s Not Like Us Tour and Brad Paisley’s Weekend Warrior World Tour. Ell’s first full-length album  The Project  debuted at No. 1 on the Country Album Sales Chart and was named  Billboard ’s “Best Country Album of 2017. “What Happens In a Small Town,” Lindsay’s duet with Brantley Gilbert, claimed the top spot at country radio, marking her first No. 1 in the US. She has two No. 1 singles under her belt in Canada.  Her new single " wAnt me back " is out now from her critically-acclaimed sophomore album,  heart theory . ABOUT TRACY BYRD

Tracy Byrd became a household name on the country music scene in 1993 when his third single, "Holdin' Heaven,” off his self-titled debut album, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts. The album also included the remake hit of Johnny Paycheck's "Someone To Give My Love To," cementing Byrd as a traditional country troubadour! The debut album went on to be certified Gold. Byrd is also known for hits such as "I’m from the Country,” and the smash, chart topping hit "Watermelon Crawl." The song "The Keeper of the Stars" shot to No. 1 on the singles charts and pushed his album, “No Ordinary Man” to Double Platinum status, which certifies sales of over two million copies. "The Keeper of the Stars" won Academy of Country Music's "Song of the Year" award in 1995.  Byrd hosted TNN Television Special titled "Tracy Byrd's Big Love" on which Byrd invited guests Johnny Paycheck, Mark Chesnutt and Asleep at the Wheel. TNN also recruited Byrd as the TV host of their Weekend Outdoor Broadcast. Tracy, a true outdoorsman, was perfect for the job and continued his hosting responsibilities for several years. Tracy Byrd crossed into the new millennium with the release of his album 10 Rounds and the title track and party song of the year, "10 Rounds with Jose Cuervo," which shot to the top of the Billboard Charts to notch Byrd's third No. single. Next came "The Truth About Men," a team effort with Tracy's buddies Blake Shelton, Andy Griggs and Montgomery Gentry lending their talents to the song and the video. This album also released the top five smash "The Drinkin' Bone" which became a crowd favorite sing along song. Through the years Byrd had 16 Top 10 singles, over seven million albums sold and performed over 3,000 exciting shows across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia.  Says Byrd, "These days my life has great balance, with my music being a part of it, not all of it. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed it more!” Byrd went back in the studio in June of 2016 and released All American Texan , his first project in 10 years, then in 2019 he released his first ever live album, Tracy Byrd Live at Billy Bob’s Texas . By Monica Wood - Fort Sill MWR

Two up-and-coming country performances will open for the July 5 Trace Adkins concert on the Fort Sill Polo Field.

The Josh Abbott Band and Bri Bagwell , both Texas-based bands, will open the Independence Day Weekend concert, headlined by Trace Adkins and presented by Fort Sill Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation .

Josh Abbott Band

The Josh Abbott Band is an American Texas Country, Red Dirt band composed of Josh Abbott, Austin Davis, Preston Wait, Edward Villanueva, James Hertless and Caleb Keeter. They started touring in 2008. They released their first album “Scapegoat,” in 2009. A second album, “She’s Like Texas,” followed in 2010. This album made the Top Country Albums charts. It includes the single “Oh Tonight,” which debuted at number 59 and peaked at 42 on the Country Songs chart in early 2011. Michael Berick of Allmusic rated the album a four stars out of five, comparing it to Steve Earle and said Abbott’s songwriting showed maturity.

They recorded their first official sell-out crowd at the World’s Largest Honky Tonk, “Billy Bob’s Texas,” located in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on Feb. 10, 2010, which sold 6,000 tickets.

The band’s third CD, “Small Town Family Dream,” was released April 24, 2012, and peaked at number 5 on the charts. Singles from the CD include “Touch,” which peaked at 41 on the charts, “I’ll Sing About Mine,” and “She Will Be Free.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bri Bagwell

Bri Bagwell started out singing and playing keyboards with her identical twin brothers in their soft rock band “On Tap” when she was 14 years old. She later moved to Texas to attend the University of Texas in Austin and pursue a degree in Marketing with a minor in management. During the summer of 2010, Bagwell wrote and cut an acoustic EP “Midnight Hour,” with six original songs. She is a former reality television contestant on “CMT’s Next Superstar,” and she recently signed with talent agency William Morris Endeavor of Nashville. The agency’s roster includes the Randy Rogers Band, Stoney Larue, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift.

Trace Adkins

Adkins, better known for hits such as “You’re Gonna Miss This,” and “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” is a long-time supporter of the military and recently recorded several radio public service announcements with his new song, "Tough People Do."

This is his third trip to Fort Sill to perform for the military community.

He is also a spokesman for the Wounded Warriors Project, and he was a past honoree at their Courage Awards and Benefit Dinner, where he was recognized for his efforts to help raise awareness for the men and women who have been wounded in service to their country.

He's performed on seven United Service Organization tours in the past 11 years; most recently in December in Okinawa and at U.S. bases on the Japanese mainland.

Adkins made his debut in 1995 with the album “Dreamin’ Out Loud.” He is also author and an actor, both on television and in the movies. May has been busy on the reality show "Celebrity Apprentice," which he went on to win.

Adkins has released nine studio albums and 30 singles on the Country charts. His songs include; “Every Light in the House,” “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” “I Left Something Turned On at Home,” “Rough and Ready,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” “Marry For Money,” “Brown Chicken, Brown Cow,” and “Ala-Freakin-Bama,” among others.

Adkins has racked up more than 30 hits on the singles charts, four Grammy nominations and five Academy of Country Music and Country Music Television awards in his 17 years as a country artist.

About the Concert

According to Brenda Spencer-Ragland, Fort Sill Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation director, the concert is Family and MWR’s way of ensuring high-class talent is made available locally so residents in the area don’t have to travel to see big-name entertainment.

“Usually shows of this caliber are only available in Dallas or Oklahoma City but we bring the talent close to home for the community and to show our appreciation to the Soldiers and their families for the sacrifices they make each and every day,” she said.

The concert not only offers the community quality entertainment close to home, it is also the biggest fundraiser for Family and MWR of the year and the money helps to generate quality of life programs for Soldiers and families.

“The concert is not supplemented by Department of the Army dollars,” said Spencer-Ragland. “The concert ticket price allows us to reinvest in our facilities and maintain our programs. This is pure business. We bring quality entertainment to the area at a reasonable price. We chose the long holiday weekend to ensure that the community has a safe, close-to-home entertainment option to enjoy over the holiday weekend.”

Tickets for the July 5 Trace Adkins concert are on sale now at both Adventure Travel Offices, in the Welcome Center at 4700 Mow-Way Road and in Central Mall, and at EZ Go stores in Lawton. Tickets are also available online at www.sillmwr.com .

Advance tickets to the concert, featuring Trace Adkins and special guests, cost $30. Tickets at the gate will cost $35.

The concert is co-produced by Fort Sill's Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and the U.S. Army FMWR Command, Army Entertainment Division and is part of the Army Concert Tour. It is slated for July 5 as the highlight of the post Independence Day celebration. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

The concert is sponsored locally by Coors Light, Billingsley Family of Dealerships, Coca-Cola, USA Discounters, USAA, REMAX Pam and Barry’s Team, Freedom Furniture and Electronics, Fort Sill Federal Credit Union, Corvias Military Living, EZ Go, People’s Cab Company, KSWO 7 News, K-LAW 101 and the Lawton Constitution.
