Die-Cut Stickers vs. Kiss-Cut Stickers

Die-cut means that we are cutting through the sticker and paper backing, whereas kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the adhesive sticker part.

Die-cut means that we are cutting through both the vinyl sticker material and the paper backing. This cut type doesn't leave any material around the sticker. Another way to look at it is to think of it like a "cookie cutter." Your stickers are all individually cut out to the contour of your design, so you have individually cut stickers with no paper material around the design.

* Please note, back slit (crack and peel) is only available on stickers 2" x 2" up to 12" x 12".

* If selected on sizes larger than 12" x 12" your decals will not be backslit

Kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the vinyl layer ("sticker material") and not cutting through the paper backing, leaving a paper material border around your sticker. When you choose a kiss-cut sticker, you will have extra material around your sticker for easy peeling.

When submitting these files, make sure you convert all fonts to outlines or curves to ensure they print correctly and the fonts are not substituted.

Vector art consists of lines and curves that are mathematically defined objects. When viewing art in key line mode you can see the points or vectors when connecting your lines and curves. They can also be seen when using the pen tool or editing the points along a path. Vector art is ideal for type and drawn shapes because they can be enlarged to any size while maintaining crisp outlines and details without sacrificing quality. The distance between the vectors is calculated mathematically and is not dependent upon resolution. 

Raster images consist of colored squares, called pixels. They are created by combining a series of various colored pixels. Digital photographs are made up of pixels. If you view a raster image at 200% or more you are able to see the individual pixels that make up the image. Raster images are dependent upon resolution so image enlargement is limited by the individual size at which the file was created. If a file is produced at a size that is larger than its resolution will allow, the quality will decrease. Printing a low resolution file will result in pixelation. Individual pixels are large enough to be easily discernable. Increasing the resolution will not solve this problem is there are not enough pixels to begin with. The program will add more pixels based upon the estimation of their location and will then assign their neighboring pixels's color value. This may cause an image to look muddy. 

If submitting these files, please follow the guidelines below:

• 100% scale (full size output) at 100 dpi
• 50% scale at 200 dpi or higher
• 25% scale at 300 dpi or higher
• 10% scale at 600-1200 dpi recommended

Economy Vinyl Specs:

Stickers are available in either a glossy or matte finish. Matte laminate diffuses light and reduces the shine of the ink making text easier to read from all angles since it doesn’t glare. Whereas, gloss laminate adds a shine to your stickers that reflects light creating a more vibrant color than the matte finish.

Yes, all of our stickers come laminated. You can choose from our standard lamination, which is a liquid lamination or our premium lamination, which is a film lamination.

How do I design my custom travel stickers on your website?

What are the best surfaces to place travel stickers on?

What surfaces or material do travel stickers not stick to?

Stickers do not stick well to dirty or textured surfaces. For the highest quality application, you will want to make sure the surface is clean, dry, and smooth. If you have dirt, dust or texture under your sticker, it will not stick well and will peel off of the surface you placed it on. Reason being, the adhesive material isn’t attaching to the surface as needed when there is dirt, dust, or texture on the surface you are applying it to. Does heating a travel sticker make it stick better?

The adhesive on a sticker works better in warmer temperatures. The ideal temperature for applying a sticker is room temperature (60 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit). It is more important to make sure it isn’t cold when applying a sticker. Just like how we don’t like to move in the cold, the glue film on the sticker will harden in the cold making it less sticky during your application. Check out our blog for more details!

Die Cut Stickers VS. Kiss Cut Stickers

The main differences between these two cut options, comes down to the paper backing on each sticker.

Die-cut means that we are cutting through both the vinyl sticker material and the paper backing. This cut type doesn't leave any material around the sticker. Another way to look at it is to think of it like a "cookie cutter." Your stickers are all individually cut out to the contour of your design, so you have individually cut stickers with no paper material around the design.

* Please note, back slit (crack and peel) is only available on stickers 2" x 2" up to 12" x 12". *

If selected on sizes larger than 12" x 12" your decals will not be backslit

Kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the vinyl layer ("sticker material") and not cutting through the paper backing, leaving a paper material border around your sticker. When you choose a kiss-cut sticker, you will have extra material around your sticker for easy peeling.

Custom Sticker Artwork Specifications

The maximum file size we accept is 100 MB. Our preferred file types are:

When submitting these files, make sure you convert all fonts to outlines or curves to ensure they print correctly and the fonts are not substituted.

Vector art consists of lines and curves that are mathematically defined objects. When viewing art in key line mode you can see the points or vectors when connecting your lines and curves. They can also be seen when using the pen tool or editing the points along a path. Vector art is ideal for type and drawn shapes because they can be enlarged to any size while maintaining crisp outlines and details without sacrificing quality. The distance between the vectors is calculated mathematically and is not dependent upon resolution. 

Raster images consist of colored squares, called pixels. They are created by combining a series of various colored pixels. Digital photographs are made up of pixels. If you view a raster image at 200% or more you are able to see the individual pixels that make up the image. Raster images are dependent upon resolution so image enlargement is limited by the individual size at which the file was created. If a file is produced at a size that is larger than its resolution will allow, the quality will decrease. Printing a low resolution file will result in pixelation. Individual pixels are large enough to be easily discernable. Increasing the resolution will not solve this problem if there are not enough pixels to begin with. The program will add more pixels based upon the estimation of their location and will then assign their neighboring pixels's color value. This may cause an image to look muddy. 

If submitting these files, please follow the guidelines below:

• 100% scale (full size output) at 100 dpi
• 50% scale at 200 dpi or higher
• 25% scale at 300 dpi or higher
• 10% scale at 600-1200 dpi recommended

If you are not able to provide us with a print ready artwork, our art department would be able to recreate your artwork in vector format for printing. Most logos or images can be recreated for and additional cost, which depends on the difficulty of your design. Releasing the recreated vector artwork to you for personal use can be done for an additional cost.

Airport baggage handler warns passengers against tying ribbons to their luggage

UNDATED (WKRC) - An airport baggage handler has warned passengers against tying ribbons to their luggage.

According to The New York Post , those who tie ribbons to their bags to make them easier to find could be delaying their arrival on the carousel. Per the publication, a baggage handler at the Dublin Airport, identified only as John, told RSVP Live that attachments can set back your bags' arrival.

“Ribbons that people tie onto their suitcases to help identify them can cause issues with the bag being scanned in the baggage hall,” John told RSVP Live.

According to The Post, ribbons can attract negative attention from luggage scanners at the airport.

“If the bag can’t be scanned automatically it can end up in manual processing, which could mean your bag doesn’t make it to the flight," the handler told RSVP Live.

When speaking to RSVP Live, the handler also gave these luggage tips to travelers:

• Place your suitcase wheels up for less risk of damage
• Take old stickers off the bag, as they can cause confusion during the scanning process
• Never back Marzipan (almond candy dough) in your bags, as it has the same density as some explosives, meaning your bag will be removed and you'll be called from the plane for a bag search

Airlines are responsible for repairing or reimbursing passengers for damaged caused to baggage, per the Department of Transportation.

But if your suitcase must be checked, there are a few steps you can take to ensure your suitcases don't end up missing in action. Read on for the mistakes that will get your luggage lost at the airport, according to travel experts.

1 You're not removing old tags and stickers

Your checked luggage gets adorned with a new sticker on every trip you take. But if you're not careful, this could wind up creating a confusing mess for handlers.

"Flight crews depend on current bag tags and stickers to ensure each item is getting on the right flight," Audrey Kohout , CEO of Luggage Forward , tells Best Life . "If there are multiple old stickers and tags on your bag, the chances of the cargo crew scanning the wrong barcode increases."

2 You can't pick it out of a lineup

Bags don't just go missing because of mishandling. Experts point out that sometimes, they can get scooped up by accident.

"A suitcase that looks like many others (e.g., a plain black suitcase) has a higher chance of being mistakenly picked up by someone else," says Justin Albertynas , travel expert and CEO of the travel company Ratepunk. "Make it stand out, and have some fun with it too! Apply some personal stickers or get a more colorful suitcase to lower the chance of it getting taken by someone else."

3 You're creating a potential tangle risk

The build of your bag can be important for more than just ensuring the items inside stay safe. Certain features could also make it more likely to disappear behind the scenes.

"Passengers often use luggage with straps for easier carrying. However, these have been known to get caught on equipment or accidentally wrapped around other people's luggage [that] handlers might incorrectly think belong together," says Anton Radchenko , CEO of flight compensation website AirAdvisor.

4 You're not double-checking your tags or seeing your bags off

Mistakes can happen—especially in a busy setting like an airport. Take the time to glance over the essential documents that will determine where your luggage is heading.

"When your bag is being checked, make sure that the tags printing have the right info," says Clint Page Henderson , managing editor at The Points Guy . "Does it have the right airport and code? Your correct name and frequent flier number?"

He also adds that if you qualify for elite and priority tags, make sure they're added as well so your bag is whisked away to your plane as quickly as possible.

5 You're getting to the airport too late—or too early.

No one ever plans to rush through the airport after arriving late. But if you're regularly down to the wire with making your flights, you're likely increasing the risk of your bags not making it to your plane.

This can also be a problem if you're on a flight with a smaller plane that can get loaded quickly. "In the case that there is an opportunity for a flight to depart earlier than expected, don't leave checking your bag to the last second," says Henderson.

6 You're not equipping yourself to find it

Having the correct information on the outside of your bag is the first step you should always take to ensure it'll find its way back to you. But experts say there are some other precautions you might want to consider to increase your odds of reuniting with it.

"Put a bag tag inside of your bag in addition to the one attached to the outside," says Henderson. That way, airline staff might still be able to get your suitcase back to you if the exterior tag gets torn off or broken.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
