As the leaves change and people swap their decorative gourds for twinkle lights, many travelers around the world are looking for a place to visit at the end of fall.

Though the old Cole Porter song "I Love Paris" points out that the French capital has its charms with each season, autumnal traditions and smaller crowds make November the perfect time to visit the City of Light.

Airfares are typically lower than usual, according to tourism industry professionals, so a few days in Paris won't have to break the bank. Each year, November tends to be one of the city's calmer moments, as it sits between the throngs of August arrivals and the crush of Christmas tourists.

Visitors won't have to spend an hour to get into the Musée Rodin or the Louvre, and the lull can give travelers the chance to experience Paris as the Parisians do. With the heat lamps turned on, café-goers can enjoy a "vin chaud" (mulled wine) or "grog" (hot lemon rum tea) on terraces across the city.

Observed annually on 11th November, Paris and France, in general, come together to honor people who died during World War I and other wars with a ceremony.

Held at the monumental Arc de Triomphe , the event is graced by the French President, who lays a wreath by the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (located under the arch) to pay respects to the fallen soldiers. On top of this, a military parade is held along the Champs-Élysées.

The cabaret is also a great place to get all glammed up like the French high class used to and go on a date with your partner!

These shows are very popular so you’ll need to book in advance to get a spot! You can go to any but the one I recommend is this show at Moulin Rouge . It is electric, fun, and comes with champagne.

You can instead book this one if you prefer to watch the show while enjoying dinner and champagne.

While Moulin Rouge is my favorite and the most famous, some people prefer the cabaret show at Lido since it’s a bit less touristy and cheaper! If that’s you, then you can book it from here .

9. Attend the festival of lights at Jardin des Plantes

One of the best places to visit in Paris in November is the expansive park of Jardin des Plantes to enjoy the iconic Festival of Lights , held annually during winter in Paris from late November until January .

With unique light formations, lanterns, and illuminated animal species lighting up the winter evenings, a night spent at this one-of-a-kind event is sure to be memorable.

The festival takes place annually and has a different theme every year, hoping not just to put up an aesthetic and enjoyable event but also to spread awareness about pressing issues with a focus on the evolution of the life of endangered species.

With over 500 chocolate makers coming from over 60 countries across the globe, here, you’ll find the most famous chocolatiers and pastry makers.

The event involves various activities like a chocolate fashion show, pastry workshops, tastings, chocolate sculptures, and more.

You’ll be able to learn from experts in the field, create delicacies, and take them back home to share your creations with friends and family.

Usually from the end of October to the early days of November at Paris expo Porte de Versailles for 5 days, this is an event you shouldn’t miss if you’re a chocolate lover.

Paris in November: Why to Embrace the Short, Cozy Days

Many tourists don’t even consider visiting Paris in November, fearing they’ll be treated to icy rain, miserably dark days and grumpy, sleepy locals. But while it’s certainly not for everyone– and you occasionally do encounter all of the above (I can’t lie)– the 11th month of the year offers some unexpected charm, too.

In November, the city celebrated for its light enters into a period of relative hibernation. This is waning season. The days grow short, with an average of only nine hours of daylight. Under such conditions, the locals tend to spend much more time indoors. The winter holiday season only starts to (literally) illuminate things toward the end of the month (see more below)– but until then, it’s steadily increasing darkness and a looming sense of quiet.

Yet there can also be joy and coziness in embracing the wane. This is an ideal time of year to really get to know Paris “behind the curtains”– those put up by the tourist industry, that is.

The Vibe: Intimate and Calm

I’d venture to say that November (perhaps along with January and February) is the month that’s most authentically Parisian, in that tourism is at a low ebb and the city turns inward a bit, focused more on locals and their well-being and entertainment than on visitors’.

{Why There’s Really No “Bes t” Time of Year to Visit Paris} 

Accordingly, there’s an unusual emphasis on traditional activities that bring people together in more intimate and laid-back ways. Think basement wine bars and warm cinemas. Think cafes with steamed-up windows and jazz music playing faintly in the background, as the clank of silverware and hum of conversation fills the air.

Think smaller exhibits and poetry readings, or warm French crepes and galettes gobbled down alongside Breton cider in small, rough ceramic bowls. Think wandering through the elegant covered passageways of the Grands Boulevards, admiring the old-world window displays and escaping the rain outside.

While Parisians have, like the rest of us, only recently discovered the concept of “hygge” imported from Denmark, there’s a French brand of coziness that’s always been present in the culture– and it certainly reigns in November.

Have I piqued your interest? If so, keep reading to figure out whether a low-season sojourn in Paris might actually be ideal. In addition to offering my advice on what to see in the eleventh month and tips for packing your suitcase, I also suggest general shows and exhibits to beeline to in 2018.

What are the Pros and Cons of a November Trip to Paris?

I’ve already mentioned the opportunity to explore the city in a more authentic way as one benefit. This is also an excellent time to de-stress, carving out time in your busy schedule to read, contemplate some gorgeous examples of fine art and architecture, tuck into a plate of delicious, warming French dishes, or bundle up and enjoy an early winter walk.

The crowds thin considerably in November, a fact that many will love. While the city is busy year-round, this is one of the best times of year to visit if you’re somewhat claustrophobic, and/or loathe long lines.

On a related note, prices for air and rail tickets as well as hotel or B&B stays tend to be lower at this time of year. Still, I suggest booking early to get the best deals.

Another benefit? If you can’t come at year-end, a late November visit can still allow you to take in some of the winter holiday festivities . Read on to learn how.

And the cons?

Every month has its downsides, and November might be considered to have an unusual number of these.

Shorter daylight hours and a significant dip in average temperatures from October makes outdoor activities less attractive. This is not the best time of year to attempt a lot of day trips from Paris, since you’ll have to rush to get in as much daylight as possible.

Cold rain, sleet and snow is common in November , and can be quite unpleasant. You may find yourself wondering why you didn’t come at a more clement time of year.

And while it’s true that the city has a more authentic feel in its darkest month, locals can be a bit withdrawn and unwilling to engage. People tend to be tired and just want to get home after a long day at work.

Whereas a spring trip to Paris might find you chatting away with strangers on rooftop terraces or in parks, in November the atmosphere is degrees less sociable.

November Weather in Paris: What’s the Mercury Doing?

As I mention above, temperatures take quite a dip in November, especially near month’s end. Icy rain can put a literal damper on outdoor plans, while in past years occasional snow has taken aback locals unaccustomed to it so early in the year.

By the same token, there have occasionally been “heat waves” in November– the mercury climbed to 23 degrees C in 2015 at one point, which is more typical of May or September!

It’s actually a bit less wet this month than it is in late spring or summer. Still, there’s still a fair amount of rainfall, which means you should always come prepared for it.

Minimum Temperature:  8 degrees C/46.4 degrees F Maximum Temperature:  11 degrees C/52 degrees F (please note that warmer maximum temperatures have been logged in recent years) Average temp:  9.5 degrees C/49 degrees F Average monthly precipitation:  65 mm/2.5 inches (totaling around eleven days per month) Average Daylight hours:  9

How to Pack For a November Trip to Paris?

To contend with colder days and less sunlight to warm you up, make sure to pack plenty of sweaters, warm pants or wool skirts and tights.

Waterproof jackets, shoes and a good, thick scarf is a must.  Icy wind off the Seine might strike you as romantic, but if you have a bare neck it can be as unpleasant as Hades on a winter’s day.

Please don’t overlook the need for warm, waterproof shoes. When it rains, large, splashy puddles tend to form in some neighborhoods, and the last thing you want is to have to trudge around the city with wet, numb feet and sopping socks. The thought of it alone provokes shivers…

One thing I also recommend is a decent thermos , so you can brave the chilly conditions and walk around the city, sipping hot tea or coffee to stay motivated and warm.

Best Things to See and Do in November: A Few Suggestions

While, as I’ve already argued, November affords unusual opportunities to just relax and take in the world, there’s no shortage of stimulation in the capital. Take note of my suggestions below, and then perhaps head over to  the tour ist office website for a more complete list of events and activities in November.

1. Huddle up around a good glass of wine (or other warm drinks). 

Wine isn’t generally produced in Paris, but the city’s many charming wine bars are ideal places to huddle indoors with friends or travel companions, perhaps enjoying a spicy, warming glass of Burgundy or Cotes du Rhone red while tucking into a plate of creamy cheeses and crusty bread.

Wine bars I particularly love and recommend include Le Verre Volé (67 Rue de Lancry, Metro République or Jacques-Bonsergent), where the small plates are as delicious and beautifully prepared as the wine selection is discerning and creative; Frenchie Bar à Vins (6 Rue du Nil, Metro Sentier) where British patrons offer an interesting variety of French and international wines paired (if desired) with English cheeses; and Le Baron Rouge (1 Rue Théophile Roussel, Metro Faidherbe-Chaligny) , right off the beloved Aligre market.

Enjoy the Beaujolais Nouveau Season

November is also Beaujolais Nouveau season , when makers of this young red wine release their latest and bars around the city offer tastings, live music and other events.

Generally, the festivities kick off on the third Thursday of the month at the stroke of midnight (Thursday, November 17th in 2022). For Beaujolais-related tastings and happenings this year in Paris, see my full guide. It’s generally updated sometime in October.

2. Bask in photography exhibits and trends.   

Photography fan? If so, November is an ideal month to be in town. First, beeline to Paris Photo, the single-largest annual show in the world dedicated to the medium. Held each year under the grandiose rooftop of the Grand Palais, the event brings together hundreds of photographers, galleries, buyers and amateurs.

It’s a fantastic way to see work from promising new lenses as well as legendary ones– and perhaps even come away with a small acquisition. Some, especially works in smaller formats, are affordable for modest budgets.

In 2023, Paris Photo will be held from November 9th to 12th.

Also in November (some years) is the Salon de la Photo, a massive show at the Porte de Versailles convention center at the city’s southern edge.

This one’s worth a morning or afternoon (and the trip south) for anyone practicing photography whether as a hobby or as a professional ambition. Simple admirer? The convention is also a good place to make an acquisition.

( Note: In 2023 the Salon de la Photo was held in October rather than in November).

3. Take in a film or two (or three).  

With over 300 movies playing a week at any given time, Paris remains a stomping ground (or lurking ground, as it were) for film aficionados.

Of course, a cold, dark, forbidding month like November provides the perfect excuse to spend a whole afternoon or evening at the cinema.

And if you end up hopping between a couple of classic old theatres in the Latin Quarter (like the Champo, shown above), you’ll be exploring an essential thread in the Parisian cultural and historic fabric. So no need to feel guilty about staying indoors for a spell…

Amedeo Modigliani: A Painter and His Retailer (at the Musée de l’Orangerie)

One of 2023’s most eagerly-awaited exhibitions, this retrospective on the Expressionist painter Amedeo Modigliani at the Musée de l’Orangerie is a definite must see this winter.

Notably celebrated for his abstract portraits inspired by traditional African sculpture, Modigliani is given full attention in this in-depth show, which highlights how his lifelong friendship with art dealer and gallerist Paul Guillaume helped catapult the painter to worldwide renown.

It showcases numerous masterpieces from the Italian-born Modigliani, from paintings to drawings, sculptures and other media, in addition to personal correspondence and other artifacts related to the artist.

Naples in Paris: The Louvre Invites the Capodimonte Museum

The Louvre Museum has teamed up with the Capodimonte Museum in Naples, Italy for a blockbuster exhibition showcasing some of the greatest masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance, from Michaelangelo to Raphael. Some 60 masterpieces from the Bourbon and Farnese collections await visitors.

In addition to its some 60 masterpieces from the Bourbon and Farnese collections, the exhibition also sees a wing of the Louvre temporarily transformed to resemble a Neapolitan palace.

Planning a fall trip to the City of Lights? Paris in November ranges from a low of 5 degrees Celsius (45 degrees Fahrenheit) to a high of 10 degrees Celsius (52 degrees Fahrenheit). If you don't mind a bit of rain and enjoy taking in art, going to the theatre, or loafing around in cafes reading or chatting with locals, it is an ideal time for you to book a trip.

November Weather in Paris

Visiting the city of light in November can be a great time to focus on indoor sights and attractions such as admiring collections in Paris's many extraordinary museums , discovering charming little  arthouse movie theaters , observing breathtaking details in Paris's  churches and cathedrals , or sipping frothy  café crèmes  over a good book. Since there are fewer fellow tourists roaming around, you can generally expect shorter lines and less crowded museums and restaurants.

Your chances of snagging a good deal on airfares and hotels are much higher at this time of year. In November, too, you'll have more chances of striking up a conversation with the locals, who have all long since returned from summer vacation. This month is generally quiet in the city, and chilly weather often creates a more somber mood. As the days grow ever shorter and the mercury starts to drop, tourist numbers dwindle, and the city feels calm and a bit sleepy at times.

The leaves have turned and it can be rainy and chilly, often approaching freezing by early morning. Note that there are fewer daylight hours to be out and about. You'll have to plan accordingly.

What to Pack

You'll be packing for conditions that tend to be cold and wet. Factor in wind chill and you'll immediately understand why your suitcase should be well-stocked with plenty of sweaters, scarves, coats, and warm socks.

An umbrella and/or a waterproof jacket with a hood is a must in this wet season. Buy a sturdy and large umbrella because wind gusts will quickly snap the cheap varieties and small ones will often leave you wet.

In terms of footwear, you don't necessarily need boots (unless you plan on long walks outdoors or outside the city), but footwear made of waterproof material would be best. If you enjoy sporting heels, bring at least one pair of flat shoes for walking as the streets and even metro stairs can be slick from the rain.

A light pair of gloves will make walking outdoors more comfortable. You may also want to think about bringing a small thermos so you can warm yourself with a hot drink while seeing the sights (or waiting outside in the occasional line).

Enjoy Seasonal Events

November events, primarily held indoors, will give you a variety of things to do . The Paris  Autumn Festival  or Festival de l'Automne launches the post-summer season highlighting some of the most compelling works in contemporary visual art, music, cinema, and theater.

November, at the stroke of midnight on the third Thursday, is the time for the release of the year's  Beaujolais Nouveau . Tastings and release parties celebrating this young wine are held in Paris restaurants and wine shops.

Join in with other chocolate lovers at the annual  Salon du Chocolat  held at the Porte de Versailles convention center at Paris's south edge. It's a trade show with many interesting and delicious side events.

The following list will include several activities that are either family-friendly, free to enjoy, or fun after dark.

1. Go on a Walking Tour

Although it tends to get a bit colder in Paris during this time of year, there should still be plenty of sunny days to enjoy.

Christmas might be a month away, but that won’t stop Disneyland Paris from starting the celebration now! 

Their Disney Enchanted Christmas celebrations mean the park turns into a Christmas wonderland.

The holidays are celebrated in style with several fun activities including a Christmas parade, seasonal sing-alongs near the giant Christmas tree, street performances featuring your favorite Disney characters, and more.

Each of the holiday activities available at this amusement park will be included with general admission, so you don’t have to pay anything extra to enjoy the festive fun!

You can purchase single day or multi-day passes, depending on how much time you have to enjoy the magical world of Disney.

The celebrations begin November 9th, 2024 and run until January 6th, 2025.

3. Attend a Cabaret Show

If you're looking for something that is a bit more stereotypically Parisian, why not see a cabaret?

The  Moulin Rouge  is known for its live music, extravagant costumes, and beautiful performers in a luxurious environment.

Performances run regularly year-round, and we recommend getting your tickets a few months out as they do tend to sell out. 

Alternatively, you may also enjoy the Paris Paradis Latin Cabaret Show, at the oldest cabaret theatre in Paris.

4. Attend an Art Fair

Paris Photo, an art fair dedicated to photography, has been taking place since 1997.

Hundreds of exhibitors from around the world bring their photographs to Paris' Grand Palais Éphémère.

Some truly brilliant photographs can be found here, pictures that capture an emotion or a moment in time.

The creators of the fair promote inclusion, which means all are welcome and no one need worry that only collectors and curators will be there.

The art fair takes place November 9th-11th.

5. Pay Your Respects on Armistice Day

Every November 11th, the city of Paris honors its fallen heroes from WW1 and WW2 with a ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe.

During this event, the French president will lay a wreath near the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of all French troops who died in these wars.

If you want to come and pay your respects, plan on getting up early so you can get there soon enough to get a good view when it all begins at 11 am.

It’s worth noting that most hop-on-hop-off bus tours include a stop near the Arc de Triomphe, so this could be a good way to get there if you’re planning on using one of these services.

6. Enjoy the Paris Christmas Markets

If you want to get into the holiday spirit, visiting one of Paris' many Marché de Noël will surely take you there.

Dozens of big and small markets pop up around Paris in November.

You'll find Christmas lights and decorations, carnival rides, ice skating rinks, and sometimes Santa makes a visit.

And of course, it wouldn't be a Christmas market without delicious food and drink.

Mulled and spiced wines, roasted chestnuts, crepes, cheeses, macarons, and so much more are sure to make your tastebuds sing.

French holidays in November:   All Saints Day (November 1) and Armistice Day (November 11) are public holidays, so banks, many stores and businesses, post offices, and some restaurants (especially outside of central Paris) will be closed.

Please note:  The Toussaint school holiday weeks take place across France between October 20 and November 3 in 2024 (and Oct 19-Nov 2 next year, in case you're planning ahead), which means that some attractions (especially those appealing to kids) may be more crowded than usual.

Les Vitrines de Noël - Christmas Window Displays in Paris - Schedule

Five famous big Paris department stores - Galeries Lafayette, Printemps Haussmann, Bon Marché, BHV Marais, and La Samaritaine - reveal their spectacular Christmas window decorations in early November, usually during the first half of the month.  It's the perfect reason to take a holiday stroll.

The imaginative Christmas window displays enchant adults and children alike, and become more fantastic and creative with animations and music each year - and of course draw shoppers inside where even more d azzling decorations create holiday cheer.

This year, BHV will be the first to reveal their window at 5pm on Wednesday, November 8. 

Galeries Lafayette usually boasts the most elaborate holiday windows featuring with animated shows on repeat throughout most of the day and evening.

Christmas Lights & Holiday Decorations

Christmas lights ("Illuminations") and decorations start to appear in Paris starting in early November and continue through early January (until just before the January sales begin).

By December, you can see festive lights, decorations, and Christmas trees in all the city's key shopping districts.  Some are quite elaborate, especially on the Right Bank.

One of the best ways to see the Christmas lights in Paris (and get a tour of top attractions and neighborhoods) is by taking one of the popular open-top bus holiday lights tours.

Armistice Day Ceremony in Paris - November 11, 2024

Pay your respects to those who died or were injured during war - almost 1.6 million French soldiers died during World War I and II combined - on Armistice Day, November 11.   Armistice Day was established on November 11, 1918 as combat ended during World War I - the "war to end all wars."

In a somber ceremony at the base of the Arc de Triomphe, the French president inspects the troops and lays a red, white, and blue wreath near the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which honors all French troops who died in the war.  A solemn vigil takes place at the Tomb in the evening.  Both remembrances always occur on November 11.

When:  Wreath-laying 11am, vigil at 9pm (to be confirmed)

Paris Christmas Markets Opening in November

Filled with sparkling lights and decorations, the smell of roasting chestnuts , cups of hot mulled wine, and Swiss-style chalets overflowing with special  holiday foods, hand-crafted gifts, and decorations , Christmas Markets start popping up all over Paris in mid-to-late November. 

These festive holiday markets originated in Germany, but have been a popular tradition in Paris and other French cities since Medieval times.  Today, you'll find them all over the city, with the largest ones attracting large crowds.

The Paris Christmas Markets opening during November typically include three of the biggest and best:  Tuileries Garden Christmas Market (opening this year on November 19, Saint Germain Christmas Market, and La Defense Christmas Market  (opening on November 16, the earliest opening date we've seen so far for this year).  Exact dates are usually announced about 3-4 weeks in advance.

Christmas at Disneyland Paris Starts in November

Enchanted Christmas celebrations start at Disneyland Paris in early November and continue into January with plenty of entertainment and holiday spirit for everyone.

Christmas Lights Turn On in Paris

Christmas lights ("Illuminations") and decorations start to appear in Paris starting in mid-November and continue through early January (usually until right before the January sales begin).

Where can you see the city's most gorgeous lights?  Head to Champs-Elysees, where thousands of strands of energy-efficient lights covering 400 trees light up the famous avenue.  A lighting ceremony takes place at 5pm on November 19 (to be confirmed) , with the avenue pedestrian-only for the occasion.  Lights will be on 5pm - 11:45pm every day through January 2, 2024, except for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve when they stay on all night.

Day Trip to Mont Saint Michel in November

November is the perfect month to visit Mont Saint Michel, the magnificent medieval abbey rising from a tiny island just off the Atlantic Coast between Normandy and Brittany.

Festival of Lights at Paris's Jardin des Plantes  

The annual winter Festival of Lights returns to the Jardin des Plantes (Botanical Garden) in Paris's 5th arrondissement, with giant illuminated statues of animals creating a magical experience during the evening. 

The topic year is the ecosystem of the jungle and the balance of nature in tropical forests of Asia, Oceania, South America, and Africa.

Although the exhibition attracts almost 400,000 visitors each year, the garden never seems crowded.

You can see the creatures unilluminated during daytime hours without a ticket (in other words, for free), but the ticketed event which begins after dark is more spectacular.

Dates:   November 22 - January 21, except for Dec. 24 & 31, 6pm l- 9:30pm, with last entry at 8:30pm, and until 11pm (last entry at 10) on Friday, Saturday, & school holidays

Location:  Jardin des Plantes, 57 Rue Cuvier, 5th arr Tickets for evening strolls: 15€-17€, with reduced prices for children and families; tickets must be bought online  (and get yours early, as they will sell out on many nights, especially during the holidays)

Almost three dozen Saint Germain galleries, specialty museums, bookstores, cultural venues, and even Hotel La Louisiane (storied haunt of jazz age and later musicians, including Jim Morrison) stage PhotoSaintGermain each November to celebrate contemporary photography and emerging photographers with exhibitions, presentations, studio visits, and meet-ups. 

If you love to see what's new and trending in the art of photography, don't miss this wonderful opportunity to visit the participating galleries and other venues.  Check the event's website for addresses, event dates, and an interactive map of locations.  As you'll see, many of the galleries are clustered in Saint-Germain's "Design District," so you can easily do your own self-directed art stroll.

What to do in Paris in November

November starts the shoulder season, and I think it is an excellent time of year to visit, especially if you have flexible schedules. I have been to Paris during a few Novembers and had great trips. The city is quieter due to fewer tourists making shorter lines for the popular Paris attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. If you arrive late in November, you will see the beginning of the Christmas decorations and holiday markets. This post will give you some great ideas on the best things to do in Paris in November and hopefully encourage you to book a trip to Paris.

Paris Weather in November

While October weather can be beautiful with sunshine and warmer temperatures towards the end of the month, expect the weather to turn in early November. The average temperatures during the day are in the 50s and in the evening it could get down close to the 40s.

What to Pack for Paris in November

You will want to pack a hat, gloves, and scarf for wandering around the city. A warmer wool coat is strongly recommended instead of just a trench coat. Pack an umbrella in your bag . Your hotel or apartment rental should have umbrellas, but they may not be small compact ones; expect a larger umbrella. You can see this full post on what to pack for Paris in the autumn . French Holidays in November

There are a few public holidays in the month of November. All Saints Day is on November 1st. Depending on how it falls in the calendar, along with school breaks, there could be a lot of French kids and families out and about.  While some shops, museums, and restaurants might be closed, you will still find places open. On November 11th, you will also find businesses and shops closed for Armistice Day, a national holiday.

Check in advance for museum opening times and plan your day accordingly. You might find it easiest to keep this as an easy travel day and check out the parks or explore a different neighborhood. I love the 9th arrondissement these days ( you can see my guide here ), and there is so much to see between the 9th and Montmartre.

The third Thursday of November is Beaujolais Nouveau. You will see signs around Paris for this celebration. Pop into a wine bar or café and participate. The wine is made of the Gamay grape and is produced quickly after harvest, usually 6-8 weeks. It is a more fruity and light wine that should be served cold. It won’t be the best wine you have tasted, but if you are in France during this time, it is a great time to try it with other locals. This is the official kick-off to the festive season.

Paris Gardens to Visit in November

Luxembourg Gardens is located on the Left Bank of Paris. You will find the same green chairs around the city in different Parisian parks. Grab a baguette sandwich from a local boulangerie, or grab something from Bread and Roses , La Parisienne Madame, or The Smiths Bakery. Set up a little picnic in the park. There are tons of kid-friendly areas in the park here as well.

Tuileries Garden is just in front of The Louvre Museum and is popular with tourists and locals. I love grabbing a coffee at Café Kitsuné just across the way. You can easily take the metro here and exit right off in front of the gardens.

Parc Monceau is located in the 8th arrondissement and is more of a destination location and not in the heart of postcard Paris. It is worth a visit and one of my personal favorites. The gold gates will let you know you have arrived. Soak up the Parisians, and people watch in this magical park. Try the boulangerie Boulangerie Léonie close by on Rue de Levi a fun food street.

Paris Parks to Visit in November

Palais Royal is located tucked away behind the Louvre. It was a bit off the radar for many until recent years with Emily and Paris and Instagram, it has gained popularity. Palais Royal is a personal favorite of mine and where I got engaged. The columns in black and white are what has put it on the map. Keep walking further for the garden. The trees are bare right in November, but if you come back in the spring or summer, they will be filled and groomed. Roses and dahlias fill the inside gardens for pops of color, and magnolia trees bloom in the spring.

Paris Attractions to See in November

Everyone always puts the Eiffel Tower on the top of their list. I love seeing it from the top of the Arc de Triomphe which also has some great views of the city.

Palace of Versailles is worth a day trip. I wouldn’t try to squeeze it in for half a day. November is a perfect time to visit because the crowds will be lighter. Keep in mind the first half of the month, there are holidays, and kids will be out of school, and a weekday may be just as busy as a weekend. I went to Versailles in November and was lucky to have a foggy and rainy day that allowed me to have the palace almost all to myself.

The grounds are pretty extensive and I would recommend biking or having some sort of transport around. I did a bike tour in Versailles last year and had the best time. The town of Versailles is adorable, and there is a market where you can grab cheese, wine, and a boulangerie for baguettes. If the weather is decent, you can have a picnic on the palace grounds.

Salon du Chocolat is October 28-November 1 which features over 500 chocolate producers and pastry chefs. It is located at Porte de Versailles, which can be accessed via the metro station.

Christmas at Disneyland Paris starts in November. If you have kids, this may be something that you could add to your trip. I haven’t been to Disneyland Paris to speak to any details.

Van Gogh Avers-sur-Oise at the Musée d’Orsay Museum , along with the French impressionists. This exhibit runs from October 2023 to February 2024.

You can skip the line at the Paris museums and major monuments with the Paris pass , which you can order in advance.

Paris Rainy Day Activities in November

Expect to come across some rainy days during your trip to Paris. November weather is expected to be a bit rainy. While it can slow you down a bit and change the vibe of your trip. The city can be romantic and beautiful in the rain.

People watch at a café for the afternoon with a good book and a glass of wine. French culture allows you to hold a seat for as long as you like if you order a drink or food. The waiter won’t rush you off, so you have time to soak up the scene and relax. You will most likely have to request the bill with “l’addition s’il vous plaît.”

Visit the Louvre museum for an afternoon to see the Mona Lisa and other famous works of art. To warm up, I recommend a stop at Angelina for a cup of hot chocolate. If you have little ones, this is a great activity to keep them busy if it is cold and rainy. There is a location on Rue de Rivoli across from The Louvre.

Expect a bit of a line depending on the time of day. The hot chocolate is thick and decadent. Don’t miss the whipped cream on top. If there is too long of a wait, pop into a neighboring café for chocolat chaud (hot chocolate).

More Rainy Day Paris Activities

For more rainy day Paris ideas, pop into Galeries Lafayette to escape a rainy day if you are over museums. Check to see if the rooftop is open. It is a great place to see a view of the city and the Paris monuments. You can also shop Bon Marché if you are on the Left Bank, which is one of my favorite department stores. Their food market called, Le Grande Epicerie de Paris is something you have to see. Kids might like browsing here as well, and you can pick up some food souvenirs for home. The prices tend to be a bit higher than your usual grocery store so be warned of sticker shock. It is worth exploring.

Take a food tour with La Cuisine Paris and learn about the culture and French traditions. They will take you to some of the best places for baguettes, cheese, and charcuterie in the city and you will meet a few visitors in your group. If you are traveling solo, this is a great time to meet people. La Cuisine offers more than just food tours. You can also sign up for one of their cooking classes. I recently did their croissant class on a rainy day and had so much fun!

There are some standout autumnal events and activities to look forward to, including our pick of the best things to do in Paris in November.

La la land in concert.

As one of the most successful films of the last decade, La La Land impressed all film buffs. Now the film, with Justin Hurwitz the composer himself , comes to Paris in November. Several times in recent years, iconic fantasy films like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings have gone under the skin of the audience with the Yellow Socks Orchestra .

While the uniquely beautiful soundtrack is played by the orchestra, the film plays on a big screen in the background. This is definitely not to be missed as a fan of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling!

Thoiry Lumières Sauvages

Thoiry ZooSafari is a fun day trip out of Paris, made even more appealing in November with a trail of imaginatively sculpted lanterns. Each one is a luminous curiosity that kids will love.

For visitors without hire cars (inessential in Paris), there are ‘bush trucks’ to transport pedestrians through the safari and past the dangerous animals. There’s also an air safari, for that kids and big and small love (unless then hate heights.) In short, there’s plenty to entertain families through the day and into the night, when the lanterns light up the park .

Shop for fall treats at Marché des Enfants Rouges

Paris’s oldest market is a fantastic source of seasonal foods. It’s compact yet bustling, with crowds of diners and enthusiastic chefs turning up the heat against the encroaching cold. Even better, it’s indoors, so you can avoid umbrella sparring with other shoppers.

The market has a reputation for inventive and modern street food , despite being housed in a marketplace that dates back to 1615.

Alongside enticing hot food stalls are colorful produce and artisanal delicacies. Eat at the tables or grab something to go. Either way, a trip to the historic market is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Paris in November.

Pitchfork Music Festival

Since 2011, the Grande Halle in Parc Villette has hosted the offbeat Pitchfork music festival . The event stretches across 8 days and features an eclectic mix of white-hot bands and relative newcomers .

For revelers who want to keep going, the nearby Trabendo concert hall hosts all-night after-parties for festivalgoers.

Stomp through leaf piles in Bois de Vincennes

The two large urban forests of Paris are located in the west and east of the city. East of the centre, in the 12th arrondissement, the Bois de Vincennes awaits you with a total of around 18 kilometres of cycle paths and over 30 kilometres of car-free roads. Longer, more extensive walks are also possible here. The site, which was also the venue of the 1900 Summer Olympics, also has a large zoo in the style of Hamburg’s Hagenbecks zoo. Other highlights are the Château de Vincennes (now a museum) and the botanical garden.

Pay respect to France’s fallen on Jour du Souvenir -Remembrance / Veterans Day (November 11)

The guns on the Western Front fell silent on November 11, 1918. France had lost over 1.7 -1.8 million citizens during the Great War. The date is commemorated with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Arc de Triomphe.

The ceremony starts with a somber march along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, attended by multiple heads of state. It’s a public holiday, and thousands turn out to pay their respects in the most moving event in the Parisian calendar.

Head indoors to the uplifting splendor of Musée Jacquemart-André

The Jacquemart-André museum holds the private collection of an extremely wealthy banking family. The family spent a considerable portion of their money on artworks and objets d’art for their opulent home. There are many different art styles on display. The museum is home to works by Botticelli, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, and more.

It’s not just the fine art that attracts visitors. The entire museum is captivating. Following the family’s instructions, everything was preserved in place when they bequeathed the home and contents to the Institut de France . It is a remarkable display in a home of sublime Belle Époque opulence. An uplifting tonic on cold, wet November days.

Paris Games Week

Is chilly, damp November a good time to enjoy a Parisian sunset? Yes. In fact, the skyline is especially pretty during November . There are some well-known spots to enjoy the views, such as the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and the Montparnasse Tower. But rooftop bars are some of the most accessible places to watch the sun set .

Some rooftop bars close in November. But the elegant Terrass” bar will be open. And the views are spectacular. You might need to wrap up warmly, but putting aside an hour or two to watch the kaleidoscopic sunsets over the Eiffel T o wer is one of the best things to do in Paris in November. Sunsets arrive early, and rooftop bars are quiet, so you won’t have to wait in line like during summer. The timing is perfect.

Take an evening promenade around the Lumières en Seine

The captivating Lumières en Seine returns every November to the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud , a former nature reserve turned park on the outskirts of Paris. A 1.2-mile (2 km) trail leads you through imaginative art sculptures and displays. It’s like an appetizer for the Christmas lights that illuminate Paris in December.

Children big and small will enjoy walking the trail, which is so brightly lit that you’ll forget about the cold weather. For a moment, at least.

Take a gourmet tour around foodie havens

Le Beaujolais Nouveau is eagerly awaited across France, even if many connoisseurs dismiss the young wine as gimmicky. Debates about the merits of Beaujolais Nouveau do not deter wine buffs from coming together to tickle their palates. Any excuse…

Custom dictates that the arrival of the new season’s Beaujolais wine is celebrated from midnight on the third Thursday in November. France raises their glasses of vin de primeur (early wine) in unison as the clocks pass midnight. Join the fun and decide for yourself if Beaujolais nouveau deserves all the attention.

Wondering where you can try Beaujolais nouveau in Paris? Many caves (cellars) and wine bars join the annual tradition. Here are a few suggestions:

November 1st is a bank holiday in France (Le Toussaint, aka All Saints Day aka Day of the Dead)

November 2-30 The exposition “Offrenda” (or “offering”) celebrates Le Jour des Morts (aka Dia de los Muertos, aka Day of the Dead) in Paris at the Marais art gallery The Muisca (8 Rue d’Ormesson, 4th), dedicated to Columbian and Latin American art and artists. Free entry, open Wed-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat-Sun 11am-7pm.

November 2 and 14 We can all use a good laugh right now. Laughing Matters in Paris presents British stand-up comedian Simon Evanson Nov 2nd from 8pm and US comedian Rich Hall on Nov 14th at 7:30pm and 9pm, at Chez Georges (11 rue des Cannettes, 6th), tickets €20/25. Book old school via email on  http://anythingmatters.com , or call Karl Beer at 06 1213 0202. Get on their mailing list if you’re interested in English comedy in Paris.

November 4-5 The charity shop  Emmaüs Alternatives   is having a “Grande Vente au Kilo” at Les Amarres (24 quai d’Austerlitz, 13th) on Friday night from 8-11pm and Saturday 11am-8pm, €10 per kilo of clothing and accessories. A great opportunity to check out this unique space combining restaurant/bar/nightlife on the weekends with a refugee welcome center during the week.

November 5-13 The 46th annual  Salon Marjolaine , the  largest organic fair in Paris , takes place this week at the Parc Floral (Bois de Vincennes) with 450 stands selling everything organic you could imagine: produce, meats, cheeses, artisan oils, wines, essential oils, herbs, teas, cosmetics, beauty products, household cleaning products, clothing, shoes, accessories, home decor, books, gardening supplies, as well as stands for environmental tourism, different green activist groups such as Greenpeace, etc. There are also plenty of food stands for lunch onsite, a coat check, and a little shuttle from the metro Château de Vincennes to the entrance of the Parc Floral. Open 10:30am-7pm (Friday until 9:30pm). Entry €10, but you can get a €3 discount voucher on the  website   to print out in advance (or pay the ticket online in advance and skip waiting in line). November 6 is the first Sunday of the month when many museums are free; some require a reservation and some don’t.

November 10-13 Time to stock up on original Christmas gifts “Made in France” at the 8th annual  MIF Expo  at the Porte de Versailles (expo hall 3): “MIF Expo offers a showcase that allows French industry, innovation and creativity to meet consumers.” There will be gourmet goodies, toys, home & decor, clothing, beauty & hygiene products, and technological innovations. Get a preview of the show  on this video . Open 10am-7pm, get a free invitation on the website or pay €10 at the door (reimbursed with your first purchase). Note that coat check is €2/item.

November 11 is a bank holiday in France (1918 Armistice Day)

November 11-20 Another year, another Day of the Dead art exposition at the print-making gallery and artist atelier, the  Association pour l’Estampe et l’Art Populaire   (49bis, rue des Cascades, 20th) Come see the traditional altar, and artworks celebrating the dead from 22 different artists in the heart of Belleville. The exposition is open daily 3-8pm. Free entry.

November 14-January 15 The Jardin des Plantes (5th) is hosting another evening illuminations festival in their gardens over the holidays. This year’s theme is  “Mini-Mondes: The Enlightening Evolution”  featuring more than a hundred light structures representing the fabulous world of insects. “Meet the little beasts that inhabit the meadows, ponds and forests of France, or even inhabit our bodies. Discover species that are sometimes familiar – centipedes, woodlice or glowworms -, sometimes more mysterious , such as springtails, diplouras, or the astonishing tardigrade.” You can see them for free in the daytime during regular garden opening hours, but will need tickets to see them lit up at night, from 6-11pm. Tickets €12-€15, AVAILABLE ONLY ONLINE  here .

November 17 Although it’s rather low-key in France compared to the hype it gets in America, the annual  Beaujolais Nouveau festival  takes place in wine bars throughout Paris today. You can find events at almost any wine bar in Paris, but if you’re hurting for ideas this article has a map of listings throughout France (and the world) that will be doing something special to celebrate.

November 18-20 Discover the local artisans of Paris this weekend through  “Paris Local” , a Tourism Office initiative to promote the restaurants, artisans, and artists of Paris through visits and activities. It’s also a great way to find the addresses of all the local artisans and restaurants specializing in locavore cuisine. The site is only in French but with a little Google translating you shouldn’t have any problems finding events that will interest you.

November 18-27 Chez Luigi is a pop-up restaurant-coffee bar-coworking space-club sponsored by the Italian coffee brand Lavazza in a Left Bank mansion (47 rue du Cardinal Lemoine, 5th). Everything here celebrates coffee, including the cocktails (like the Black Espresso Martini), and a dinner menu by Chef Simone Zanoni where every dish has coffee in it (prix fixed menu at €60). Open 8am-1am, dinner by reservation only, otherwise open to the public.

November 18 – January 8 Don’t miss the 2nd annual  Lumières en Seine , a dazzling light show in the gardens of the Domaine de Saint Cloud (west side of Paris accessible via metro). “From the very entrance at the Clémenceau gates, this special light trail will take you on a magical journey through fire gardens and frosted forests, over fields of fairies and illuminated waterfalls. Along the way you’ll pass by a charming merry-go-round and Santa’s sleigh as well as a cozy rest spot, where you can enjoy mouth-wateringly good food, mulled wine and hot chocolate.” It was so popular last year that prices have gone up, and the age for free kids is under 3 years old. Open tickets (undated) are €26 for adults (€22 Fri-Sun ), €20 for kids 3-11 (€20 Fri-Sun) and Family Tickets for two adults and two kids for €65 on Wed-Thurs (€72 Fri-Sat and school holidays). Dated tickets for a specific day are €20 (€16 kids) Mon-Thurs, €22 (€18 kids) for Fri-Sat and school holidays. Purchase online in advance and dress warm!

November 19 Eclair Day! For each éclair purchased on Saturday in participating pastry shops (there are a dozen in Paris), 100% of the proceeds will go to “Imagine for Margo”, the charity that helps fund research to fight childhood cancer.  Here’s the map of the shops.

November 20 The  holiday illuminations  on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées will be inaugurated tonight at 7:15pm by the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and the actor Tahar Rahim. The avenue will be entirely closed to traffic for pedestrians to have the best photo ops without getting run over. The lights will turn off this year at 11:45pm instead of 2am to save on energy costs (and of course the lights are LEDs). They’ll remain up through January 2nd.

November 21-December 29 Alice au Pays des Merveilles is a street art exposition featuring 23 artists portraying their version of Alice in Wonderland, in the unusual setting of the Piscine Josephine Baker, the floating swimming pool on the Seine (Quai François Mauriac, 13th). The exposition is free and open to the public Tues-Fri 4:30-8:30pm (Thurs until 9:30pm), and Sat 11am-3pm.

November 24 Lost in Frenchlation presents a screening of the dramatic French film “L’Origine du Mal” (Origin of Evil) with English subtitles and a Q&A with the director Sébastien Marnier, tonight at the cinema L’Arlequin (76 Rue de Rennes, 6th), tickets €10.50. November 25-January 7 The street artist Jace celebrates 30 years of his creation, Le Gouzou, with a show at the Mathgoth Gallerie (34, rue Hélène Brion, 13th, M° Bibliothèque) called Planète Gouzou (depuis 1992) . The vernissage is the 25th from 6pm with the artist, then open Wed-Sat 2-7pm. Free entry.

November 26-29 “Art Against Pain” is an art auction to benefit medical research at the Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild. It takes place at the Galerie Joseph Minimes (16 rue des Minimes, 3rd), starting with a four-day exposition of the artworks, and the auction on the 29th at 7pm at the Galerie Minimes, but also live online (where you can already see the bids) at Invaluable . The artworks by over 75 street artists (see the list on the event page), all starting at €500.

Through December 23 I’m not usually a big fan of paying to go see street art when so much of it is on the streets for free (or in the Capitale(s) exhibit below for free at the Hôtel de Ville), but if you’re looking for something indoors and a little “sporty” (there are 16 flights of stairs in the three buildings hosting the street art), then check out the latest Colors Festival  show Roadmaps in St-Germain-des -Près (17 rue de Buci, 6th), featuring 25 artists who have decorated six apartments in three buildings for an “immersive” experience. Through February 12 CAPITALE(S) is a free exposition at the Hôtel de Ville (4th) celebrating 60 years of Paris street art, featuring the most influential artists, including Invader, Miss Tic, André, Swoon and Banksy. In the Salle Saint-Jean at 5 rue de Lobau, free entry with reservations online, Mon-Sat 10am-6:30pm (Thursdays until 9pm).

Daytrips from Paris

November 19 – December 31 The family-owned  Château Vaux-le-Vicomte  (the 17th-century palace that inspired Versailles) becomes a  Christmas wonderland  in December. For the 17th year of “Vaux-le-Vicomte en Lumières”, the château pays homage to Molière for his 400th birthday, where the château is transformed into a Palais d’Art with thousands of lights and holiday decorations. This year will also have a 360° projection recounting the Ceremony of the Turks from the “Bourgeois Gentilhomme”, to the music of Lully. Every night ends in a sound and light spectacle projected on the façade of the château. Dress warm, and don’t miss the roasted marshmallows! Open Wed-Sun 10am-6pm from November 19th to December 17th, and every day from December 18th-31st (closes at 4:30pm Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve). Entry €22 for adults, reserve in advance online, €17.50 just for the gardens alone, €16 for kids 6-17 years old. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE IN ADVANCE, NO ON-SITE PURCHASE IS ALLOWED.  More info here.

November 20 The UNESCO Artists for Peace choir and orchestra will be performing Carmina Burana under the dome of Grand Stables at the Château de Chantilly at 4:30pm. Tickets €30 (€15 for kids under 12). Book tickets to visit the château beforehand and make a full day of it! (Just a 45-minute train ride from Paris read more here )

How to Have a Perfect Weekend in Paris: 2 Magical Days in Paris

After traveling to Paris, France twice over the past few years, I’ve used my expertise and experience to put together the best weekend in Paris itinerary! This post covers all the top things to do in Paris (some of my favorites!) and will help you have the most awesome trip possible! It holds some type of magic, and a weekend in Paris is the perfect way to spend a getaway in France. The City of Light is a stunning name for such a beautiful place- evoking feelings of wonder and excitement that only a city such as Paris can live up to. Whether you need to know the best things to do for your Paris weekend trip, or you just need a place to start while planning a longer trip, use this weekend in Paris itinerary to help you get the most out of your visit.

Day One of Your Weekend in Paris Itinerary

1. Begin at the Arc De Triomphe

A beautiful place to start your Paris itinerary is at the Arc de Triomphe, which stands at the top of the Champs-Élysées in Place de l’Étoile . Not only is it a fantastic sight to see, but it is also a perfectly centralized place to begin acclimating yourself to the city itself. Take a quick photo in front of the Arc de Triomphe, or buy tickets to take the stairs or the lift to the top. Here, you can view Paris from above and immerse yourself in the new Virtual Reality kiosks at the top. Buy tickets for the Arc de Triomphe here . Note: If you have the Paris Museum Pass, you DO NOT need an advanced entry ticket.

2. Walk the Champs-Élysées

One does not just come to Paris and NOT walk the Champs-Élysées. It is such a quintessential piece of Paris. So, take some time here. Wander down the boulevard and peek into whichever shops suit your fancy. Grab a sandwich or a macaron from a cafe and enjoy a slow Parisian morning. Although the Champs-Élysées is well-known for being an upscale shopping destination, it has become more reasonable as of late. Sure, there are still your Louis Vuitton stores along with some others like Dior and Cartier . However, you’ll find the Official PSG store here as well as a current fan fave, the Stranger Things Store. Other reasonable destinations along the Champs-Élysées include the Disney store, Zara, and Nike. One of the things I love to do in new cities is wander into a local department store. Check out the Monoprix on the Champs-Élysées . It has a little bit of- literally-everything! You might as well call it France’s Target- ha! Continue along the Champs-Élysées until you run into your next destination!

Tip : One of the must-try foods while in Paris is a macaron ! The best spot to grab a unique take on these French classics is Ladurée . Their restaurant and salon on the Champs-Élysées is beautiful!

3. Place de la Concorde & Jardin des Tuileries

If you continue walking down the Champs-Élysées, you will pass through the stunning Jardin de Champs-Élysées and eventually come to Place de la Concorde . This area is famous for its Egyptian Luxor obelisk which was moved from a temple in Egypt to sit in Place de la Concorde. If not for its location in the middle of the avenue, I would not recommend that you see Place de la Concorde. Nonetheless, since you are walking through the area, it makes sense to mention that you will see it! Just past the obelisk, however, is where the real beauty lies. Jardin des Tuileries is like a little world all on its own. These gardens contain a bookstore, restaurants, and a museum, along with ponds and formal garden decorations. If you’re traveling with kids, Jardins de Tuileries is a fantastic place to spend some time exploring. The gardens include a playground named Aire de Jeu0x, a carousel, a Ferris wheel, and a trampoline park. Similarly, there are often additional festivals or events happening in the gardens with everything from pony rides to children’s games.

Tip : If you’re traveling between the end of June and the end of August, chances are you’ll catch the Fête des Tuileries . This fair is an amazing attraction complete with rides, games, and activities for kids of all ages!

4. Visit the Louvre: The Top Art Museum in the World!

Once you pass through the Jardin des Tuileries, you will arrive at the Louvre. While I’m not the biggest art expert (and- to be honest- I don’t LOVE visiting art museums), I would still suggest that you spend time in the Louvre . No itinerary would be complete without it. Easily the most popular museum in the entire world, the Louvre is MASSIVE. Like…so massive that you can easily get lost inside. And, look. You need to know what you want to see inside the Louvre . If not, you’ll spend too much time wandering around overwhelmed. Thankfully, the map provided by the museum does point out some of the most popular pieces that you won’t want to miss. Some things in the Louvre that I’d highly recommend you add to your list: ✔️ Winged Victory of Samothrace – A Greek statue depicting the victory of Nike. This sculpture stands at the top of the Daru staircase, one of the most prominent places in the museum. ✔️ The Mona Lisa – Ah, the famous Mona Lisa . This one made the list because of how popular it is. Truth be told, I find this masterpiece overrated. The painting is incredibly small (relative to how big you’d assume it is), and there is almost always a long line to see it. Nonetheless, to be able to say you’ve seen it, add The Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci to your list. ✔️ Liberty Leading The People – This painting is stunning. Created by Eugène Delacroix, it depicts the July Revolution of 1830 in France. ✔️ Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss – I adore this sculpture. There is so much feeling evoked by it that it is hard not to love it. You can see the emotion on the faces of both Cupid and Psyche, and this masterpiece is well worth your time to see while in the Louvre. ✔️ Egyptian Antiquities – The entirety of the Egyptian Antiquities wing is incredibly breathtaking. The relics are enormous, and, at least for me, were items I didn’t expect to see outside of actually traveling to Egypt. Head down to the bottom floor of the Louvre- the crypt- to see sarcophogi, the Sphynx of Tanis, and other Egyptian artifacts. ✔️ Venus de Milo – Known as one of the most well-preserved Greek sculptures in the world, Venus de Milo is believe to depict Aphrodite and is definitely worth seeing.

If the idea of taking on the Louvre sounds daunting to you- you’re not alone! ✈ Book this small-group tour of the Louvre in order to skip the line and see all of the highlights without having to navigate and research on your own!

5. Les Halles & Lunch

Just about a five minutes walk from the Louvre is the neighborhood of Les Halles . This indoor/outdoor mall area is a beautiful neighborhood in Paris to shop around and grab a bite to eat. If you start at Les Halles and branch off in either direction , you’re sure to stumble onto something magnificent. For cooking aficionados, some of the most notable cooking stores in the city, E. Dehillerin and La Bovida are found here. We had the best meal of our trip near Les Halles at L’Escargot . This beautiful pub-like atmosphere is filled with old wood and charm but is actually a fabulous upscale restaurant experience. We had the most delicious steak frites, endive salad, and, of course, escargot here. Pair with wine and-voila!- a perfect Parisian lunch experience.

6. Île de la Cité & Notre-Dame Cathedral

Continue on your walk for 15 minutes until you find yourself in the Île de la Cité part of Paris, most famous for the Notre Dame Cathedral. Île de la Cité is technically an island situated within the limits of Paris. Connected on both sides by bridges, the water surrounding this neighborhood gives it stunning character. Although the Notre Dame cathedral is under scaffolding after the fire in 2019, as preservationists try desperately to restore what was damaged, it is still worth seeing. Currently, you cannot get very close to Notre Dame , and you aren’t able to get any great pictures, either. However, you can see the beautiful artwork on most of the facade of the building as well as the gargoyles which loom over the top.

7. Peruse the Shelves of Shakespeare & Company

Cross over the banks of the opposite side of Île de la Cité and make your way towards Shakespeare & Co, I could not WAIT to get to Shakespeare & Co. I mean, everyone has heard of this fantastic bookstore, right? It is tucked away in the Latin Quarter , and it is a world-famous bookstore that you must visit. Shakespeare and Company is a small shop that is often crowded, but it is incredibly charming. The upstairs features a reading room with various places to sit and stretch out, as well as a cat, Aggie, who has been known to keep readers company. This shop stocks some of the most popular current books as well as other independent titles.

Tip: Make sure you buy a book or two at Shakespeare & Co during your Paris weekend trip. The bookstore will use their special seal stamp inside the covers of your new books- a perfect souvenir!

8. Dinner in the Latin Quarter

While some parts are very touristy, the Latin Quarter is the perfect place to end your first evening in Paris. There are tons of fantastic cafes and restaurants. This is an incredibly walkable neighborhood in the 5th Arrondissement, so don’t be afraid to just wander until you find a place that looks delish! Some of the most popular in the area are La Jacobine for traditional French dishes or La Petite Bouclerie for delicious crepes. The most important thing, though, is that once you’ve finished dinner, you grab dessert at Amorino Notre Dame Huchette . They make gelato that is to die for AND free of preservatives and artificial flavors. As a bonus, you can choose as many flavors as you want to be made into a rose-like cone of gelato to devour. It was so great that we went back twice in one day!

Tip: If you’re looking for those typical Paris souvenirs, the Latin Quarter is your place to find them. After dinner, take a walk down Rue de la Huchette, where you’re sure to find more stores than you can possibly visit in one evening.

Day Two of Your Paris Weekend Itinerary

1. climb the eiffel tower.

You knew we’d get here eventually…THE Eiffel Tower. A true bucket list item. This beautiful piece of architecture lies at the end of the Champs de Mars and is the iconic picture of Paris. Although it is an incredibly over-populated experience, I can’t in good faith give you a full weekend in Paris itinerary without suggesting that you climb the Eiffel Tower – ESPECIALLY if it is your first time visiting the city. After all, it’s the perfect spot to get some romantic Instagram shots , of course.

Climbing the Eiffel Tower is a beautiful way to see the city of Paris from a birds-eye view. There are two primary ways to get to the top: ✓ Climb the Stairs + Take the Elevator: If you’re up for physical fitness, you can take a climb (about 30 minutes) to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower and then hop onto the elevator for the final stretch to the top. This is called the “Ticket with Access Stairs 2nd Floor + Lift: THE TOP.” ✓ Take the Elevator: If you are not keen on climbing the stairs (I don’t blame you!), there are tickets that allow visitors to take an elevator all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower. This is called the “Ticket with Access Lift: THE TOP.”

Tip: It is EASY to get the wrong type of ticket for the Eiffel Tower. Do yourself a favor and buy directly from the official Eiffel Tower site , using the ticket names above.

2. The Catacombs of Paris

Your time in Paris is not complete without experiencing one of the most unique ways to explore Paris- heading beneath the city. Back in the Eighteenth Century, graveyards in the city were becoming overcrowded and causing massive health problems for the inhabitants of Paris. A decision was made to move the bones underground. From 1787-1814, bones were hauled into the depths beneath the city to what was then dubbed the Paris Municipal Ossuary. Soon after, the Ossuary was opened for public visitation, and, thus, the legend of the Catacombs of Paris was born. Now, thousands of visitors a year visit this site, descending the 131 steps- or 5 stories- to explore below the city. This was one of the most shocking parts of our visit to Paris. The bones in the catacombs are literally stacked floor to ceiling. In fact, some of the piles of bones are even designed into shapes- like a heart of skulls! Crazy. There are memorials and burials scattered throughout the area as well. Dress warmly for the visit here, as the dampness and cold are definitely felt more underground. I would also recommend not bringing a backpack if you can help it. There are points where you are inches away from touching bones, so any additional items brought with you can be troublesome! I highly recommend you book advance tickets to the Catacombs of Paris! Tickets open 7 days in advance, and they DO sell out.

3. Enjoy Baguettes (Or Other French Food!) at a Boulangerie

In most cities in the world, I would not recommend that you grab a quick sandwich as a way to experience the local food culture. In Paris, I would. Boulangeries are sandwich shops that sell tantalizingly delicious-looking sandwiches and other items such as pastries. It doesn’t really matter which one you decide to visit, but be sure to grab a baguette with some kind of meat, cheese, and spread on it. I personally love ham and cheese toasties with mustard, Caprese sandwiches, or Croque monsieurs. Generally, sandwiches at a boulangerie are wrapped to go, meaning you can grab your lunch and keep walking since we are packing all of our sights into a short amount of time in Paris!

4. See Basilica Sacré-Cœur, Montmarte & Moulin Rouge

I’ve got to be honest…I don’t love Sacré-Cœur and Montmartre. I just don’t. I find them to be crowded, touristy, and dirty. As of late, they’ve become really run-down, and pickpockets are RELENTLESS here. However, these are also two of the most famous things to see in Paris , and many people feel as though they must be on their weekend in Paris itinerary or they missed out. Montmartre tends to be recognized as a little village within the city. Its cobblestone streets and buildings built along the hillside give it a feel that is reminiscent of Old Europe. It is a great section of the city to roam around in. The streets are packed with cafes, artists, and stalls or merchants selling anything you can think of. You will also find the Moulin Rouge here as well as many film locations from the popular movie, Amélie. If you visit Montmarte, make plans to visit Basilica Sacré-Cœur. The Basilica, a dedicated place of worship, sits overlooking the town of Montmartre and the entire city of Paris. It is a beautiful church, so make sure to step inside and see the Basilica is all its glory. . When you’re finished inside, step out and take an iconic photo overlooking the city . You can see for miles, and it is truly breathtaking. Note: There are two ways to reach the Basilica at the top of the Butte of Montmartre: climb up the steps (approximately 300 of them), or ride the funicular up to the top. The funicular tickets can be purchased at the Funiculaire de Montmartre and cost the same as a one-way metro journey (about €1.90).

There is no other way to end your Paris itinerary than to take an evening cruise along the Seine river. It is the most beautiful experience. Ours was in the pouring rain, and it was still fantastic! Head over to Pont Neuf and hop aboard a large boat for an unforgettable experience. If you can, grab seats on the top deck and watch in awe as the city passes by . The best part is when you end up just under the Eiffel Tower right as it lights up. PERFECT view and picture-taking opportunity. The average cruise lasts about an hour, returning to the pick-up point. This cruise hosted by Vedettes du Pont Neuf is a great budget cruise option.

Visit Sainte-Chapelle Church

Sainte-Chapelle is a magnificent Christian church set in the middle of Paris . Although a gem in its own right, I’d even more highly recommend a visit now that Notre Dame Cathedral is not accessible. You can find Sainte-Chapelle in Île de la Cité, right across the street from the Notre Dame Cathedral. It is a very similar gothic structure, but it has the most incredible stained glass windows to admire – 1,113 of them to be exact. The church was intended to be a place where relics and artifacts from the Christian church could be housed. As such, one of the items on display here is the Crown of Thorns worn by Jesus Christ. Reserve your visit by buying an entrance ticket online here . Entry is €11.50 per person, and those under the age of 18 are free.

Soak Up Sunshine In Jardin du Luxembourg

If you had more time in the City of Love, I’d say waste away an entire afternoon basking in the beauty that is Jardin du Luxembourg. This sprawling garden sits in front of the Luxembourg Palace and offers a stunning expanse of greenery in a bustling city. Admire the manicured blooms, many trees, and statues surrounding the area. My favorite thing to do here is to grab a baguette, wine, and cheese, and enjoy a lazy afternoon on the green. If you’re in the mood to do something while you relax, Jardin du Luxembourg is packed with activities . There are slides and rides, remote control boats, and a chessboard. Kids will have a blast here in the children’s area- and they might even catch a puppet show or pony ride!

It is no secret that Paris is a foodie lover’s dream. If you can fit it in, add a Food Tasting Tour to your itinerary. Housed in an old railway station, the Musee D’Orsay is one of the most fantastic museums in Paris. This museum focuses mainly on impressionist artwork- specifically paintings. Although there are other mediums on display- such as photography and sculptures- many visitors come to the Musee D’Orsay to admire the brushstrokes of greats from all over the world. All visitors are free with a reservation on the first Sunday of each month. Otherwise, tickets are available online in advance and start at €16, with those under 18 years old free of charge.

Best Day Trips From Paris

Palace of Versailles

One of the most popular day trips outside the city of Paris is the Palace of Versailles – and with good reason. This extensive palace was built by Louis XIV, was the home of Marie Antoinette, and was the site of the peace treaty that ended World War I. The palace and its grounds are breathtaking. It is possible that your time in Paris would not be complete without seeing Versailles. And, if that’s the case, you should go! There are many tour companies that offer transportation and entry to Versailles. As well, you can also easily take the RER C train to the Versailles Château-Rive Gauche station. The Palace is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Entry to the palace is only with a ticket, and Versailles is very popular. Book tickets online in advance here . There are a multitude of ticket options, including free and reduced tariffs for some. Note: The Palace of Versailles is closed on Mondays.

This massive palace acts as a bridge over a river and has beautiful gardens and grounds to explore in addition to the chateau itself. Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is a must-see for many Disney lovers! Thankfully, Disneyland is extremely easy to get to from the city center. Disneyland Paris is made up of two different parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, in addition to on-site hotels and Disney Village. The two parks are right next to each other, making travel to and from them incredibly convenient. While you can drive or take the train, I recommend booking tickets for the Disneyland Paris Express. This shuttle bus picks up at four locations around the city: Gare du Nord, the Eiffel Tower, the Opera, and Chatelet. You can book shuttle tickets here . Similar to Disney World in the USA, Disneyland Paris has rides, attractions, shows, parades, and other exciting encounters with characters. Perhaps the most recent excitement here is the newly-opened Discover Marvel Avengers Campus which joins some favorites that we have here in the USA such as It’s a Small World, Ratatouille, and Peter Pan’s Flight. Park tickets can be purchased in advance through the Disneyland Paris website.

The Sites of Normandy

One of the most-visited spots in all of France is Normandy, a place that should absolutely be on your bucket list. People flock to the area in order to see sites from World War II. Although Normandy is definitely a bit out of the way, visiting from Paris is doable! You will just need a full day to do it. Take a small-group trip in a private vehicle through the countryside to Normandy. First, you’ll visit Pointe du Hoc where United States Rangers scaled the “Atlantic Wall” on the coastline, attempting to defeat a German stronghold. Here you can walk around the coastline where there are still bunkers, barbed wire, and plenty of holes created by grenades that were thrown. After, walk along Omaha Beach and visit the memorials here that honor the lives lost during the landing of Allied troops on D-Day. Then, enter the Overlord Museum at Omaha Beach and learn through artifacts and personal stories just how the battles in Normandy unfolded. Finally, visit the Normandy American Cemetery and pay your respects to the thousands of American lives lost during these battles. This is a beautiful space to walk along the grassy lawns and memorials and contemplate the true cost of freedom and the sacrifice it takes to maintain it. Your tour returns to Paris in the evening so that you can enjoy dinner in the city.

Typically known as a higher-end neighborhood, tourists and locals frequent Saint Germain in equal measure. The area is popular without being overly touristy and is a fantastic location for your home base during your time in Paris. The neighborhood is brimming with restaurants, cafes, and shops, offering many choices for an evening out in the city.

How to Get Around Paris

People often ask: Is it possible to walk around Paris entirely on foot? Realistically, the answer is no. Paris is too large to cover all on foot. There are 2o different arrondissements in the city of Paris. While a large number of the well-traveled, popular tourist sights are within walking distance of each other (For example, Notre Dame, the Louvre, and Champs-Élysées), not all are. More than that, it is likely that your hotel will be some distance away from these main thoroughfares. Does that mean you shouldn’t walk in Paris? Absolutely not! If you’re planning to see Paris in a weekend, then you’ll need to walk around! Plus, walking is a fantastic way to see parts of the city you might have otherwise overlooked. However, just be prepared that you will likely need to utilize the metro in addition to walking at some point.

Paris By Metro

The metro is hands-down the easiest and most affordable way to get around Paris. There are multiple lines, but once you have access to a map with subway routes, you can get anywhere you need to go. Paris by Taxi

Paris by taxi is certainly an experience. The city has thousands of taxis, all publicly certified. On top of that, they are surprisingly affordable. There is a base fare of €2.20, with additional charges added for each kilometer traveled based on the time of day or day of the week. In reality, if you have to get somewhere across town quickly, your best bet is going to be to hail a taxi. Especially if it’s raining! The only downside is that sometimes you will be caught in traffic, and the taxis most often only take cash.

Can You See Paris in a Weekend?

Truthfully, you can get a pretty great taste of Paris in a weekend. In fact, I’d say you can see Paris in a weekend. However, you can’t DO all of Paris in a weekend. With this itinerary, you see some of the most fantastic places in the city- and a wide range of things, too! Depending on your personal interests, two or three days in Paris may be plenty of time for you. You can see the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Notre Dame, and Champs-Élysées. These are the most popular things to see in the city. The largest exceptions to this would be if you’re interested in art history or if you plan to take some day trips outside of Paris . If either of these is the case, then, no, a weekend in Paris itinerary, even when fully packed, is simply not enough.

Is a Weekend in Paris Worth It?

Absolutely. People dream of visiting Paris for their entire lives. It is one of those top cities that is on everyone’s bucket list. It is a beautiful city that has countless famous landmarks and things to see. It is also unlike any other city in the world. Spend as much time in Paris as you can! You’ll love every second!

The major tourist season in France stretches from Easter to mid-September, but Paris has much to offer in every season. If you're dreaming of Paris in the springtime, May is your best bet, not rainy March and April—regardless of what some songs say about the latter. Paris in the early spring can be disappointingly damp, though it's relatively tourist-free; May and June are delightful, with good weather and plenty of cultural and other attractions. July and August can be sultry, stuffy, and uncomfortable. Early autumn is ideal. Cultural life revives after the summer break, and sunny weather often continues through the first half of October. The ballet and theater are in full swing in November. The weather is part wet and cold, part bright and sunny.

Eiffel Tower : Built in 1889 for the World’s Fair, this iron structure is one of the most visited monuments in the world. There is a bird’s eye view of Paris from the top and there are two restaurants in the lower structure.

The short November days and crisp temperatures are not luring the big crowds to France’s capital. If there’s at any point something like a low season in Paris, then it is now.

It doesn’t mean that you will wander down deserted boulevards, but you will not find yourself queuing for hours either. You also find easier affordable hotel rooms and restaurants that are not booked out all the time.

But still, it’s best to get your tickets in time, here’s why:

In the first week of November, the French kids are on school holidays and November is also a month with a couple of bank holidays . Both are occasions that many French families use for cultural outings and visits.

In 2024, the bank holidays are as follows:

• 1st of November – All Saints (Friday)
• 11th of November – Armistice (Monday)

Both November bank holidays fall just before or after the weekend. And both days are not only celebrated in France, but in Europe. This means an influx on tourists on the first two November weekends.

November is a lovely time to travel to Paris because you can still enjoy most sights and attractions despite the colder season. But you are also freed from the paralyzing tourist crowds that are flocking to Paris most other months. It’s a good trade.

In November, the fall foliage is still beautiful, and it’s the finest time to take a stroll through the beautiful parks of Paris . It’s also enjoyable to take a cruise on the river Seine or spend time in museums and exhibitions .

Autumn in Paris is also a great season if you are in for culinary treats.

No matter what you are interested in, the month of November is a good moment to visit Paris.

How’s the November weather in Paris?

Your vacation in Paris in November will likely be characterized by a mix of sun and rain, with many gray days and cold nights. The early November days can still be pleasant, but the temperatures will drop as the month progresses.

November is also a bit breezy, and you are better prepared for short showers at any time. It rains on average for 9 days in Paris during November, but rest assured: complete rain days are rare.

In November, expect temperatures to range on average from 5 °C (39 °F) and 11ºC (52ºF). So, you can spend your day exploring the city without freezing, but as it gets noticable colder at night, you better look for indoor activities for your Paris nightlife plans.

The days are short in November. The sunrise is not before 8 am, and it gets dark shortly before 6 pm. This is not giving you too much time of explore Paris by daylight. But on the bright side, you have more than enough time to admire the beautiful illuminations at night.

Last year, the energy crisis hit Europe. In an attempt to save energy, the Eiffel Tower will shut down its illumination shortly before 11 pm . At the time of writing it is not announced yet, how this will be handled in 2024.

In November, you’re best dressed warm and cozy. I still recommend layers because the sun can be still warming you up and there is a significant difference between day and night.

The evenings and early mornings can be icy, so you might want something to put on.

Therefore, you need to add a warm jacket and a sweater to your packing list for Europe in the fall . A scarf and a hat shouldn’t be missing from your luggage, either.

There’s one more thing you should have in your purse: A little travel umbrella , just in case, to be prepared for the frequent showers.

As always, the best plan is to look at the forecast before leaving for Paris and pack accordingly. But generally, you will have rather cold days in Paris during November, no matter if you are granted sunshine or not.

Warm Merino Socks

The very best way to keep your feet warm in November in Paris is by investing in a high-quality pair of Merino Socks . I know it hurts to spend so much on a pair of socks, but from my own (long-distance) hiking and travel experience, I can promise you:  it pays off a hundred times.

My favorites are  these ones . You find as well cheaper Merino socks, but verify how much Merino they actually contain. The less Merino, the cheaper – and the lower the quality and benefits.

A lightweight Down Jacket

You will never regret having a Down Jacket with you, regardless of where you are traveling to. I even consider a down jacket as one of the most essential travel items. Summer excluded, of course. When traveling for a city break to Paris, you will often leave your hotel early in the morning and won’t come back before late.

Therefore, you need to be well-equipped for all sorts of weather! But as you can’t carry a heavy pack sack with you all day, a down jacket is your rescue.

The temperatures in Paris in November are a bit fickle, with potentially considerable differences between day and night. A quality lightweight down jacket like this one fits even in your small day pack or purse! It is truly indispensable for unsteady weather.

It prevents you as well from bringing your very heavy and less versatile winter coat.

A warm and cozy scarf

November is often cold and windy, and a scarf is an indispensable item to keep you warm. It is also so versatile. You can use it wrapped around your neck or shoulders, or even use it as a cover when sitting on a terrace in Paris.

A scarf belongs in your bag if you travel to Paris in November. A nice warm scarf also takes no space in your luggage, and you easily can take it off when browsing stores and shops. As a strong plus, a scarf is also a fantastic accessory to dress up your outfit.

Truth be told, you shouldn’t travel anywhere in Europe without a little umbrella in your purse.

This one is just the perfect size to do both: fit in your purse and keep you dry. It also comes with a little pouch, so you are not flooding your bag when putting the umbrella back when the rained stopped.

11 November – Armistice Day (National Holiday)

Armistice Day marks the end of World War I and is a public Holiday in France. You’ll find memorials in many locations. One of the most important is held at the Arc de Triomphe at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

From 11 of November – Christmas at Disneyland

If you are a Christmas fan, Disneyland Paris is the place to be. The festivities start on the 11th of November and include lights and shows, Christmas carols, and snowflakes. A real winter wonderland .

November – Festival of Lights at the Jardin des Plantes (2024 Dates not yet announces)

After it’s success in previous years, the Festival of Lights goes into its 6th round this season. The Jardin de Plantes transforms into an illuminated universe, filled with creatures and magical sculptures.

The 2024 exhibition is a spectacular voyage through a miniature world. Admire more than 100 luminous insects and other little creatures, a thousand times their original size.

The exhibition ends on the 30th of January and requires an online reservation.

Paris has a steady average of between 7 and 9 rain days throughout the year. In November, you can expect 9 rain days. So, it does not rain much more in Paris in November than at any other time of the year.

Paris is not a cheap city, and ticket prices for sights and activities are the same, no matter the month. However, you will find the hotel availability for lower prices hotels better in November because it is shoulder season.

November is a good time to visit Paris because it is one of the calmest months of the year. Everything is open but less crowded, and you don’t need to expect overly long waiting times. Pack some warm clothes and an umbrella, though because it can become quite chilly.

The average temperatures in November in Paris are between 5 °C (39 °F) and 11ºC (52ºF) and you should pack a hat, a scarf, and a warm jacket.

There’s nothing like Paris in the Fall. November is one of my favorite times to travel to Paris – the city is quiet before the holiday rush, the leaves have changed colors, and the heat lamps come out at the cafés.

My En Route to Rêverie Rêverie in Paris clients have the inside scoop on what to see and do in Paris in the Fall, but I thought I’d share what’s always in my bag for a November trip to Paris. If you need help with what to pack for Paris, look no further. 

1. Classic Wool Coat

The Sézane Johnson coat is such a timeless staple. It’s a great in-between coat to wear before the weather gets truly cold. I recommend sizing up if you plan to wear it over sweaters as it runs a bit tight in the shoulders I found.

I wear a size 8. I own this in both the Sand and the Black colors. You’ll see it reflected in Paris style on other French women, too.

The Abercrombie Dad Coat is another great option. And consider a leather jacket as well. And a trench coat is a must!

2. Sweater Blazer

I love that the J. Crew Ella sweater blazer hits at mid-thigh, giving it the silhouette of a coat. It’s a great knit with the right level of weight to it making it ideal to wear as both a cardigan and a lightweight coat.

I find it runs big so recommend ordering at least one size down. I sized down two sizes to an XS.

3. Casual sneakers

Comfortable sneakers are a must for Paris, no matter the season. I love the slightly thicker sole and color way of these Veja V-12 sneakers . I’m also a fan of their classic Esplar Logo sneaker in black and white. 

Of course I also always have my favorite white sneakers in tow, too. Pack a pair that aren’t new and your feet have adjusted to!

4. Low Heeled Booties

The Loeffler Randall Isla Booties are one of my most worn pairs of shoes. I’m all about prioritizing comfortable shoes, and these allow for loads of walking while also looking stylish. I pair them with slightly cropped jeans and with dresses or skirts. 

5. Umbrella

Fall in Paris means rain not if but when. This travel umbrella is the perfect size and opens and closes with ease. I’ve been bringing it to Paris for several years now and it’s held up so well in the unpredictable weather in Paris.

6. Classic Loafers

These Sam Edelman Loraine Loafers are another fall staple, they elevate any outfit. You’ll also notice a lot of Parisians wear loafers day to day – they are perfect for the cobblestone streets. This is a great option in black.

7. Catch-all Tote

Cuyana makes some of my all time favorite leather tote bags, and this one is no exception. I love how sleek and versatile this bag is – great with joggers and sneakers on the plane, or with a blazer and jeans for a day of shopping.

I personally own this one and love it. The double straps are so handy.

8. Silk Scarf

I always bring a scarf when I go to Paris as it can add a beautiful accessory moment to more simple, tailored outfits. Tie them on your bags, around your wrist or around your neck throughout your trip.

9. Crossbody Bag

I love how polished and timeless this DeMellier crossbody bag looks. It reminds me of the Celine Box Bag but at a much lower price point and still excellent quality. This  bag from Sézane is another great option.

10. Tweed skirt

A tweed skirt paired with a sweater or turtleneck is just so effortlessly Parisian! I find a lot of great ones at & Other Stories .

11. Long Sleeve Lace Top

I always bring a lace top of some kind with me to Paris to wear out in the evenings and this one is has been in my wardrobe for years (also comes in white). A lot of my favorite lace blouses also come from Sezane .

12. Straight Jeans

These perfectly-cropped Levis are perfect for pairing with loafers and an oversized blazer. I love the ever-so-subtle fade to them. I also own them in black which are particularly great in winter months. 

13. Lightweight Turtleneck

For less cold days, I always pack a tissue turtleneck . It’s great for layering under a jumper or a little dress.

14. Striped Sweater

I’m obsessed with La Ligne sweaters . They are true wardrobe staples and while this brand is certainly an investment – the pieces are beautifully crafted and made to last and never go out of style. This slightly cropped style is great for pairing with high waisted pants or denim.

15. Wide Leg Trousers

Trousers are certainly having a moment, I love the under $100 price point of these (and all the color options). I like to pair them with a white sneaker and tucked-in or cropped sweater. These are also my personal favorites.

16. Classic Blazer

I’m a blazer girl through and through and love to style my collection when in Paris in November. Mango makes a lot of affordable options that look higher end.

I also love a cropped little jacket this time of year, too.

What people love about paris tours.

It was a really good experience. This is my second trip with Eskapas. The first one was a small group tour fully escorted in Italy and it was wonderful. This trip is independent and you are joining at the meeting point to daily group ours. If you have send of orientation, it may be difficult so I recommend yo to take a taxi to reach out to the meeting points. Usually it costs 15-20Euro. The company upgraded our hotel to New Hotel Le Voltaire 4* ,, located in 11th Arrondissement, close to Bastille. It is a correct one, decent breakfast. Don't miss Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise which is close proximity.

Everything about this tour was excellent. The planned trips, the optional trips, the airport transfers, the guides were all top notch. We packed a lot into a week yet, had enough free time. Everything was well planned and kept to schedule. Bruno, our tour guide was charming and informative and kept us on track. Marco our coach drive was a safe and skilled driver. The specialist guides for certain excursions were topnotch. Bruno coordinated all the guides, driver, and venue hosts with efficiency. It was a trip of my dreams for my granddaughter and myself!

I was kept informed & on promptly basis. A very professional approach by your staff
