Voyager Of The Seas Itineraries

Voyager of the seas review, review of voyager of the seas.

The 1999-built Voyager of the Seas cruise ship is the first Voyager-class Royal Caribbean liner, followed by the sisterships Adventure OTS , Explorer OTS , Navigator OTS , Mariner OTS . At the time it entered service, Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas was the largest cruise liner in the world, heralded as the most revolutionary ship ever built.

The vessel (IMO number 9161716) is currently Bahamas- flagged (MMSI 311317000) and registered in Nassau .

History - construction and ownership

Royal Caribbean International (RCI) is a US passenger shipping company, trademarked travel brand and subsidiary owned by Royal Caribbean Group (RCG/shipowner). RCI was established in 1968 and currently has over 1/5 of the worldwide cruise market. RCI also has RCG's largest fleet by both vessel number and GT tonnage (ship sizes and capacities).

All RCI liners have names ending with "of the Seas".

The 3400-passenger ship Voyager OTS has been bypassed in size by the Freedom-class and the world's largest Oasis-class liners. However, it's still between the largest ships in the world, with a range of the most un-cruise-like places at sea.

Royal Caribbean Voyager-class ship (Adventure, Explorer, Mariner, Navigator, Voyager)

The most revolutionary ship ever built changed forever the cruising industry with such never-before-seen facilities as an ice skating rink/TV studio/concert arena, rock-climbing wall, in-line skating track, horizontal atrium (now known as the Royal Promenade), and inside staterooms with a view. The rock-climbing walls are now on every RCI vessel, and the Ice Skating Rink and other facilities might also be enjoyed fleetwide.

Decks and Cabins

Voyager Of The Seas staterooms (1708 total, in 34 grades) include 121 Suites, 669 Balcony, 228 OceanView, 157 Promenade View, 533 Inside (including Virtual Balcony). Most cabins are sized 150-160 ft2 (14-15 m2). Most cabin balconies are sized 50 ft2 (5 m2). The largest is Royal Suite (1090 ft2 / 101 m2 plus 215 ft2 / 20 m2 terrace with Jacuzzi). Wheelchair-accessible cabins are 27.

The boat has 15 decks , of which 14 are passenger-accessible and 9 with cabins.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

From the meals in the Sapphire Restaurant, ship's main dining rooms, to the buffet choices in Windjammer Cafe and options available at 24-hour Cafe Promenade, food aboard Voyager of the Seas is well prepared with plentiful choices, especially considering ship's capacity.

The Windjammer buffet restaurant offers an egg station at breakfast and a carving station at lunch. Vegetarians will do better in the MDR at lunch. The buffet features the items offered on the main dining room menu. The Italian-themed Giovanni’s Table charges a US$20 per-person cover charge (specialty beverages, wine, beer and soda are paid separately), and offers a multi-course meal.

Follows the complete list of Voyager of the Seas restaurants and food bars.

  • Main Dining Room (839-seat complementary venue fka Sapphire Restaurant/aft-positioned)
  • Windjammer Cafe Lido buffet restaurant (310-seat, offers Early Breakfast at 6:30 am, Breakfast between 7-11:30 am, Lunch 11.30-3:30 pm, and Dinner 6.30-9 pm)
  • Giovanni’s Table (Italian specialty restaurant, reservations recommended)
  • Chops Grille (80-seat steakhouse/seafood)
  • Izumi (Japanese cuisine)

Johnny Rockets (capacity 80 seats/1950s-style burger bar) was another specialty restaurant selling fast food favorites like hot dogs, burgers, chilli fries, onion rings. However, this signature for RCI eatery was removed during the drydock refurb in 2019.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

During the day, cruisers will find plenty of activities aboard Voyager of the Seas, such as bingo, art auctions, dance lessons, seminars, rock-climbing wall competitions and even sexy man contests. Poolside, a live band plays a blend of American and Caribbean songs.

Nighttime features the gorgeous La Scala Theater inspired by the legendary La Scala in Milan, Italy. Decor elements include a stage velvet curtain with jewel-like embellishments and Murano glass chandelier. The theater sets the scene for exciting Broadway-style production shows. The ice skating show is another must-see.

Onboard Voyager of the Seas clothing is casual during the day. Evenings dress is either casual, smart casual or formal. On casual nights, suggested clothing is sports shirts and slacks for men and sundresses or pants for women. On smart casual nights, men have to wear a jacket and a tie, while women wear dresses or pantsuits. Itineraries

Voyager of the Seas itinerary program is based on Australia and New Zealand cruises out of Sydney . In the summer, Voyager sails in Asia with departures out of Hong Kong and Tianjin . On relocation voyages between Australia and Asia (RepositionCruises.com), Voyager OTS visits ports in Thailand and Vietnam as well as Singapore .

Season 2018-2019 (April through June) had Royal Caribbean's longest-ever Southeast Asian program. The ship had scheduled total 90 departures (3- to 9-nights roundtrips from homeport Singapore ) including:

  • 3-day weekend cruises to Malaysia (Penang-Klang)
  • 4-day to Malaysia and Thailand (Penang-Phuket)
  • 5-day to Klang-Penang-Phuket
  • 5-day to Laem Chabang (Bangkok overnight)
  • 7-day to Klang-Penang-Langkawi-Phuket (overnight)
  • plus B2Bs (back-to-back cruises)

Voyager OTS had scheduled an Asian 2021 program with homeporting in Tianjin-Beijing (China to Japan, starting August 1st) and in Singapore (starting November 4th), but in July 2021 the deployment was canceled (through April 2022).

Due to the Coronavirus crisis, Voya ger OTS was paused for 2 years (March 2020 thru April 2022), restarting on April 15th (9-day repositioning from Barcelona to Copenhagen). The European program was based on Baltic roundtrips from homeports Copenhagen Denmark and Stockholm Sweden . Followed Canada-New England itineraries (out of Boston MA ) and in the Southern Caribbean (out of San Juan Puerto Rico ) .

In 2021, RCI also planned to homeport Voyager OTS in Los Angeles California (June through December) for 3-4-night roundtrips to Mexico, but the deployment was canceled.

Note: On Sept 18, 2022, Voyager OTS returned to the USA (docked at Boston's Flynn Cruiseport) for the first time in 10 years. For the last time, the boat visited the US in 2012 (April 12th, Port NOLA New Orleans) during a relocation voyage from the Caribbean to Asia via Europe and Suez Canal . In Asia, Voyager OTS was homeported in China (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tianjin), Japan (Yokohama), Singapore.

Voyager Of The Seas Wiki

Voyager is Royal Caribbean's first Voyager-class liner, with sisterships Adventure , Explorer , Mariner , Navigator . Voyager OTS was built in 1999 by Kvaerner Masa ( Turku Finland ) - shipbuilder of all vessels in this series. The company is now part of STX Europe (a division of STX Holding, South Korea). In 1999, Voyager OTS was the world's biggest passenger ship . They used to call it "floating sea'" because of its innovative design. All Voyager-class liners were world's biggest - until the arrival of the Cunard liner RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004.

Voyager OTS was christened on November 20, 1999. The inaugural cruise (maiden voyage) started on Nov 21. Vessel's godmother was Katarina Witt (notorious figure skater / Playboy model). Fun fact is, that Voyager is the first ever cruise vessel to have an ice-skating rink, rock-climbing wall and Royal Promenade (marble-paved street / approx 3/4 of ship's LOA length).

Since 2018, liner's Captain is Wu Huimin - RCI fleet's first Asian (Chinese) shipmaster.

Itineraries 2016-2017 Asia charters

In 2017-2018, the ship was also operated under charter for roundtrips out of Singapore . The charterer was the travel agency TIRUN Travel Marketing - RCCL's exclusive representative for India. The scheduled cruise ship charter itineraries ranged from 3- to 8-night in length and targeted specifically Indian passengers. Among the visited ports were Malaysia ( Kuala Lumpur ), Thailand ( Phuket , Bangkok ), Vietnam ( Da Nang , Nha Trang , Penang ).

Voyager OTS refurbishment 2019 review

The ship was " Royal Amplified " in 2019 as RCI fleet's 4th vessel redesigned and upgraded by RCI's newest drydock refurbishment program . Voyager OTS also received some fleet-first (and industry-first) features during the scheduled 2019 drydock (41-day project, September 10 through October 14) in Singapore  (at Sembawang Shipyard).

Deckplan changes after drydock 2019 included:

  • added "The Perfect Storm" - aquapark with two waterslides (Typhoon and Cyclone).
  • added "Battle for Planet Z" (laser tag course) in "Studio B" (ice-skating rink)
  • redesigned "Adventure Ocean" (kids facilities), upgraded kids programming (children 3-12 yo)
  • added Royal Babies and Tots Nursery (for babies and toddlers). Until 2019, Voyager OTS was the fleet's only liner without a nursery.
  • Teens-exclusive hangout was updated and was added an adjacent outdoor laid-back/sun deck.
  • Ship's wellness complex (Vitality Spa and Fitness Center) on Deck 12 was enhanced and enlarged. The complex was relocated from forward to aft.
  • A total of 72 new staterooms (interior and balcony) were added. New "family cabin" categories were introduced - CB (Connecting Balcony), CO (Connecting Oceanview), CP (Connecting Promenade Interior) and CI (Connecting Interior).
  • An exclusive Suite Lounge (with an outdoor seating area) was added for passengers booked in Grand Suite and above.
  • Diamond Lounge was created for "Crown and Anchor Society" members (by RCI's loyalty program).
  • Johnny Rockets (80-seat burger bar) was removed.

Voyager OTS' "Royal Amplified" 2019 drydock project cost USD 97 million.

Voyager OTS refurbishment 2018 review

The ship’s drydock refurbishment 2018 resulted in the following deckplan changes:

On Sports Deck 13, the RCI’s signature waterslides “Cyclone” and “Typhoon” were installed (next to the FlowRider simulator).

On Spa Deck 12 (aft), the new “Slashaway Bay” kids aqua park was added. This is an interactive water play area (with cannons and geysers) replacing the old Outdoor Youth Area (aka “back deck”).

The new water park and the duo of waterslides were first introduced on the ships Liberty of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas (Oasis-class).

Regent Seven Seas Announces Seven Seas Prestige for 2026

  • June 20, 2024

Seven Seas Prestige

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is adding a new ship class to its fleet.

According to the company, the first vessel in the series will be named Seven Seas Prestige and is set to debut in 2026.

Set to be followed by a second ship in 2029, the 77,000-ton vessel will be able to host up to 850 guests, Regent added.

The company also unveiled new exterior images and a video of the vessel, which will be built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.

Following the Explorer Class, the new ship design is the first to be introduced by Regent Seven Seas in over ten years.

“This is a truly historic moment for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, as we name the next ship to join The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet as the Seven Seas Prestige and reveal her sleek exterior design,” said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“The Seven Seas Prestige, debuting in 2026, continues our legacy of revolutionizing ultra-luxury travel as she will transcend luxury in every way. This incredible new ship will be the epitome of timeless elegance, exemplifying Regent’s commitment to excellence, which is reflected in every aspect of her elevated design and exuding an ambiance of sophistication and refinement.”

According to Regent, the Seven Seas Prestige will offer one of the highest passenger-to-space ratios in the cruise industry, with “beautifully appointed suites,” as well as “thoughtfully designed public areas.”

The new ship class will also introduce brand new accommodation categories, including a reimagining of the Regent Suite, plus new dining experiences, all of which will be revealed at a later date.

“Unrivaled Space at Sea is a key pillar for Regent and a primary desire for luxury travelers. The Seven Seas Prestige was designed with this in mind, maintaining the intimate and luxurious service our guests love while also providing even more space throughout the ship, allowing for new suite categories and new experiences,” DeMarco added.

Regent Seven Seas last introduced a new ship class in 2013 with the Explorer Class . The series includes the 2016-built Seven Seas Explorer, the 2020-built Seven Seas Splendor and the 2023-built Seven Seas Grandeur.

The luxury brand, which is owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, also operates the 1999-built Seven Seas Navigator, the 2001-built Seven Seas Mariner and the 2003-built Seven Seas Voyager.

All the major upcoming Disney and Pixar releases in order

To infinity and beyond!

The Mouse House's upcoming slate includes a bevy of highly anticipated features, including sequels to beloved films and live-action adaptations of animated classics, as well as exciting new original projects across theaters and streaming at home.

From Disney Animation's Moana 2 and Pixar's next outing, Elio , to the live-action version of Lilo & Stitch on Disney+, here are all the biggest upcoming Disney titles releasing in 2024, and beyond.

Descendants: The Rise of Red - July 12, 2024

Disney/Quantrell Colbert

Disney+

Every ’90s baby who grew up with 1997’s  Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella has anticipated Brandy 's return as Cinderella and Paolo Montalban as King Charming. Thank goodness the Descendants universe will deliver just that. As a spin-off to the beloved Disney Channel fantasy film trilogy, this entry follows Cinderella and Charming’s child Chloe Charming (Malia Baker), as she must team up with Red (Kylie Cantrall), the Queen of Hearts ( Rita Ora ) daughter to go back in time and stop their parents from becoming long-time enemies.

Moana 2 - Nov. 27, 2024

Releases in theaters

Moana ( Auli‘i Cravalho ) makes waves in her return to the big screen in a new animated adventure that is too epic for your television. Originally planned as a show, Moana 2 has been reimagined into a feature film. In her latest adventure, our favorite wayfinder voyager princess sets sail for a quest across the Oceanic seas when she gets an unexpected call from her ancestors. And, of course, the shape-shifting demi-God Maui ( Dwayne Johnson ) is back, always ready to say “You’re welcome.”  This time, the new terrains Moana comes across will be more treacherous than the Heart of Te Fiti.

Mufasa: The Lion King - Dec. 20, 2024

Everything the light touches is not just yet Mufasa’s kingdom. In the same spirit as the photorealistic CG-animated Lion King (2019) remake, this prequel tells the untold story of Mufasa (Aaron Pierre) and his brother Taka ( Kelvin Harrison Jr. ) before he became Scar. We will uncover how Mufasa underwent various tribulations that led to him becoming the reputable king of Pride Rock. Directed by Oscar Winner Barry Jenkins (yes, Moonlight writer-director Barry Jenkins), Mufasa will unleash his roar this December holiday season.

Snow White (live-action) - March 21, 2025

The first and fairest Disney princess to ever exist finally gets her long-awaited live-action adaptation. Starring Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler as the titular character and Gal Godot as the Evil Queen, the update helmed by Marc Webb ( The Amazing Spider-Man ) will surely be the apple of our eyes.

Elio - June 13, 2025

Disney/Pixar

This original Pixar animated tale tells the story of a young boy named Elio (Yonas Kibreab) who’s mistakenly abducted by a colorful alien organization group, Communiverse (like the United Nations, if they were interplanetary). He learns that they are putting Earth on trial and that he must act as Earth’s Ambassador to keep it safe from harm. While taking on this bold new persona, Elio taps into his confident side and finds a place amongst the stars.

Tron: Ares - Oct. 25, 2025

Leah Gallo/Disney

Boot up your Light Cycles because Tron again traverses from the world of video games to ours. Oscar-winner Jared Leto leads the third feature entry in Disney’s neon-colored sci-fi action series. Tron: Ares follows a digital program named Ares (Leto), which is sent from his digi-verse to ours à la Barbie . The film also stars Jodie Turner-Smith , Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan , Greta Lee , Evan Peters , Hasan Minhaj , Gillian Anderson , and Jeff Bridges , reprising his role as Kevin Flynn, the creator of the Tron world itself.

Zootopia 2 - Nov. 25, 2025

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures / courtesy Everett

The world of Zootopia has more stories to tell and crimes to solve. Set in an urban metropolis where anthropomorphic animals of every kind reside, the sequel to the box-office-breaking Oscar-winning animated feature sees the return of Judy Hopps ( Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde ( Jason Bateman ). No plot details have been revealed yet, but it is slated for a fall 2025 release.

Toy Story 5 - June 19, 2026

30 years after the world was introduced to Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Ham, Rex, and the other toys from Andy’s Room, Pixar’s marquee series returns for a fifth installment. No little details are available for the fifth ( and maybe the last ) Toy Story adventure outside a June 2026 release date.

Moana (live action) - July 10, 2026

Alexei Hay; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures / courtesy Everett

Moana, Maui, and the island of Motunui get a shiny live-action update. Newcomer Catherine Laga‘aia stars as the wayfinding Polynesian princess in this live-action retelling of the beloved 2016 animated feature. Actor/producer Dwayne Johnson brings more than just his voice, he literally brings Maui to life by reprising his role, “Rock”-ing body and all. With production slated for this summer, you can find the IRL Moana voyaging into theaters in summer 2026, just before the original's 10-year anniversary later in November.

Frozen 3 - Nov. 25, 2026

Disney/Kobal/Shutterstock

With a popular Oscar-winning series like Frozen , how can one not “Let It Go” beyond one sequel?  While we’re entering “Into the Unknown” with no information on the plot for the upcoming Frozen threequel, you can expect Idina Menzel to reprise as Elsa and Josh Gad as everyone’s favorite sentient snowman , Olaf. The latest update on the feature comes from Disney CEO Bob Iger, who announced a November 2026 release date, freezing up the Thanksgiving holiday season like its predecessor.

Lilo & Stitch - TBD

Experiment 626, a.k.a Stitch, comes to life in a live-action/CG reimagining of the beloved Disney animated classic. The film follows an alien experiment fugitive made for destruction crash landing in Hawaii who is adopted as a puppy by a precocious, lonely girl named Lilo. The original film’s creator, Chris Sanders , reprises his voice role as Stitch and is paired with newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo . Directed by Dean-Fleischer Camp ( Marcel the Shell With Shoes On ) , the update also stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Kaipot Dudoit, Zach Galifianakis , Billy Magnussen , and Courtney B. Vance . It recently wrapped production back in March, so expect to say aloha to Lilo & Stitch when it lands on Disney+ soon.

The Aristocats - TBD

Going from Summer of Soul to the classiest of cats, Questlove helms the live-action/hybrid reimagining of Disney’s 1970 classic The Aristocats for Disney+. Anyone But You filmmaker Will Gluck is tapped to pen the screenplay. The original animated flick is set around a pampered cat named Duchess and her precocious kitties Marie, Toulouse, and Berlioz, living in a fancy mansion with a wealthy owner. When they’re catnapped by their butler, who is out for their riches, Duschess teams up with a jazz-loving stray alleycat named O'Malley.

Sister Act 3 - TBD

30 years after she was Back in the Habit , Whoopi Goldberg is ready to don the cloister once more for a third Sister Act feature, this time for Disney+. For years, Goldberg has stated on The View that development for the third installment was being worked on, with the latest update being co-star Tanya Trotter claiming that the Sister Act 3 screenplay is done . When the time comes for the anticipated comedy sequel to be produced and put onto the streamer, we’ll all be singing “Oh Happy Day” together.

Atlas Ocean Voyages Will Offer 2026 Total Solar Eclipse Cruises

Atlas Ocean Voyages will offer two special sailings for the upcoming total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026.

World Navigator will take travelers to the Arctic and will be positioned near Patreksfjordur, Iceland , for the eclipse. World Traveller, meanwhile, will sail in the Mediterranean and will be positioned off Palma de Mallorca, Spain .

Astronomers will join both sailings and serve as expedition guides.

“This year’s solar eclipse was one of the most sought-after travel experiences in 2024 and Atlas Ocean Voyages is thrilled to offer not one, but two voyages to optimum locations for the next solar eclipse in 2026,” says James Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages .

The cruise line will also offer stargazing and astronomy workshops on select sailings in 2024 and 2025. The workshops, which will include night-sky viewing through advanced telescopes on deck, are part of the line’s Cultural Expeditions’ Atlas Focus Lab. Guests will get to learn about everything from the birth of the university to the latest astronomical discoveries.

Astronomer Jonathan H. Ward will also join three upcoming sailings on World Navigator, while astronomer Charles Barclay will join a departure on World Voyager in 2025.

“There has always been a close connection to stargazing and the sea, from captains navigating with the stars to novice astronomers gazing at the night sky on deck,” says Rodriguez.

Several other cruise lines have also unveiled 2026 total solar eclipse cruises, including Cunard , Albatros Expeditions and Princess Cruises .
