Amritsar Food Walk

Kulcha of kulwant.

The food walk will be started with the Kulcha of ‘Kulwant Kulchian wala, although, there are many places for ‘Kulcha’ in the city such as ‘kulcha land, ‘Ashoki kulchian wala and many more, in the walk we will taste the Kulcha from Kulwant. Kulwant Singh was a man from the city who got a shop near the Golden Temple and started to make Kulchas, many Amritsaries prefer to have Kulcha from Kulwant. Now there are two shops of Kulwant

Jalabian of Gurdass Ram

After Kulcha we proceed toward Katra Ahluwalia to taste Jalabies from Gurdass Ram Jalibian wala, Gurdass Ram had started this Shop before the partition, now his third generation is making ‘Jalabies’ ‘ Pinnies’ and serving to the people, Jalbaies are made in Desi Ghee( Purified Butter) and are socked in sweet syrup made of sugar.

Narayan Poorian wala

We walk to ‘Narayan Poorian wala, His shop is situated in the chowk of ‘Baba Bohar’ at the end of the Utensil market. Poori and chholey is a favorite dish for breakfast for Amritsaries. ’Guru da Halwa’ is not be missed followed by Poori and Chholey from here. On the way to this shop, we visit ‘Sangal wala Akhara, Chitta Akhara, and Darshani deori. these are very Important historical points of Amritsar heritage

Street food at Telephone exchange

We move to Telephone exchange on the way we see Thakur Dwara Dariana mull, a building which was built in the 18th century, nice architecture can be seen , then we move to Telephone exchange via Chorasti Attari chowk and Guru Bazaar to have more varieties of Amritsari street Food, here we can taste Lasi, Chaamp, and Cheese Bhurji and Gulaab jamun

Lunch at Kesar da Dhaba

From Telephone exchange we walk to Kesar da Dhaba to have lunch at famous and oldest Dhaba in the town, Daal Makhni, Malai Kofta, Partha is very delicious of Kesar, and Here is the end of the walk.

Amritsar Street Food: A Golden Gastronomic Adventure

Heading to the city of the Golden Temple? Here’s a guide to the best Amritsar street food for all possible cravings.

Now if you know me, you know that it’s far from a secret that I love food. No matter the day or time, you better believe that a quest for some good eats isn’t too far from my mind.

And while I have my OG favorites (read: macaroni and cheese and desserts) I’ve always been a huge fan of North Indian food – though not so much of the bougie prices

Western restaurants serve it for. So you can imagine that being in India has been all types of epic on the food front – and epic it has! For the most part, that is…

I’ve savored chewy, buttery puris, a million and one sabji filled thalis, and more mango lassis than I’d swallowed in the past year combined.

But alas- something had been missing. As good (and damned cheap!) most of the food I’d eaten so far might have been, it lacked one of my favorite food groups: m e a t.

Until we arrived in Amritsar , that is.

Heading to Amritsar? here's a guide to the best street food guide in Amritsar- including where and what to eat in Amritsar, as well as where to stay in Amritsar. #Amritsar #India #Indiatraveltips #foodietravel

After nearly two months of having to pay overpriced rates or forego it altogether, the street food of Amritsar brought us back to India’s eats with a bang.

Suddenly, everything from juicy fried mutton chaaps to tangy, baked Amritsari Fish Tikka. The food streets I had so missed while exploring the mountains? Back and better than ever.

It’s well known around India that Punjabis have some incredible culinary traditions – and dang do they show out in the holy city of Amritsar! But what to eat … and where?

Here are some of the can’t-miss Amritsar street food (and best places to eat in Amritsar generally) for your next Amritsar Golden Temple trip.

Amritsar Street Food: The Ultimate Guide

Where to eat the best Amritsar street food

The absolute FIRST thing I did before we made our way to Amritsar was -unsurprisingly- compile a massive list of all the restaurants and Amritsar street food shops I wanted to visit.

If you’re just thinking about the Golden Temple when you hear this city’s name- please redirect your thoughts and get into feeding mode.

Whether you’re a backpacker or not, all these stops are well worth the visit.

Here are my recommendations for some MUST eat Amritsar food- including famous street food in Amritsar as well as random finds- complete with a map for your culinary convenience.

Here’s to hoping you don’t need to be rolled out of the city ;)

Your 24/7/365 Option For Street Food in Amritsar

Golden Temple in Amritsar

Golden Temple Langar

Amritsar is famous for its magnificent golden temple, and no “Amritsar food guide” is complete without a mention of its 24/7  Langar .

Come late, come early, come again and again: the Golden Temple’s kitchen never stops serving up a basic thali with raita.

And while it might not be the most mouthwatering dish on this list, it’s certainly got the most magical location and significance.

Best Breakfast in Amritsar

Amritsar street food kulcha and chole

All India Famous Amritsar Kulcha / Kulcha Land

No trip to Amritsar is complete without a taste of mouthwatering kulcha. Picture this: buttery, crispy tandoori naan but stuffed with a thin layer of aloo (potato) and topped with a drizzling of spices- complete with a rich salty serving of chole ( chickpeas ).

Kulcha can be found all throughout the city, but All India is famous- and rightfully so! It’s one of the most delectable eating places in Amritsar for sure.

You can also check out Kulcha Land- but keep in mind that both close for the day by 4:30PM, so Kulcha sadly isn’t a late-night option.

Price: 30 rupees per plate

Old and Famous Chacha Sweets

amritsar street food ladoos

Looking for some tasty snacks to get you through the morning- or afternoon? Do deep-fried savory ladoos and samosas crisped and spiced to perfection sound like a yummy treat?

Even if you’ve tried these bites before, Chacha’s was a random Amritsar street food find that blew away any past competition- plus it’s right near the Golden Temple!

It’s easy to fill up here for less than a dollar- every item is around 10-30 rupees (and should can be bought in bulk!)

Price : 30-100 rupees

amritsar street food petha in a bowl

Aman Petha Bhandar

After all the fried and buttery goodness.. petha is a different recommendation, but delicious none the less! Made of a firm yet gelatinous texture, this former fruit is bathed in oil and sugar, hardened, and concocted into various shapes for eating.

A sort of sweet ( but technically a fruit), petha is a delectable choice for any of your in-between meals hunger needs.

Aman and his family have been at this for decades- their shop caters to petha only unlike other methai shops- even more of a reason to pay him a visit!

Price : 10-100 rupees

Ahuja Milk Bhandar

Lassis… the ultimate Desi snack perfect for sweltering summer heat (or any weather for that matter.)

This Amritsar street food joint has been servin’ up delicious lassis topped with fat dabs of milk butter on top for the better part of the last century- and boy do they deserve all the notoriety they’ve earned.

As a dessert lover, this spot might just be the best food in Amritsar!

amritsar street food lassi

By this point, I’ve tasted hundreds of lassis and at the time of writing this, none have come close to the thickly-sweet goodness that can be found here.

Plus- they also have multiple flavors including mango and vanilla. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself making a return visit- Ahuja’s definitely serves up some of the best street food in Amritsar!

Price : 40 rupees

Unnamed Mango Shake Stand

mango shake stand amritsar street food

Sometimes you just need something sweet and cheap to quench your thirst- (and in my case, the spices) and this mango shake stand is just that.

For TEN rupees, you can enjoy the sweet mango-y goodness- ah, the magic of Amritsar street food.

With a price like that, I couldn’t NOT include it on here- plus it was situated on a busy food street in Amritsar that was home to numerous other tasty stalls. Drink up!

Price: 10 rupees

Gian di Lassi

lassi amritsar street food

Gian’s is a known competitor to Ahuja’s that serves up plain sweet lassis.

Thick, large and also sporting a large dollop of cream, Gian’s knows how to make a lassi.

Whether or not it’s better than Ahuja’s though is completely up to you… it’s definitely worth trying both to make the comparison!

Where to Find Street Food for Lunch in Amritsar

When you’re eating all day, time can get a little fuzzy. Breakfast foods can be eaten at dinner, desserts for breakfast… and vice versa! And while most lunch foods can be swapped with dinner, here’s some must-try street vibe for your midday meal.

Shinda Meat Corner

mutton chaap amritsar street food

This low-key spot is missing from Google Maps, but isn’t far from the Golden Temple- it’s right next to the “Old Telephone Exchange” in an Amritsar food market and neighbors the unnamed mango shake stand.

Here, spiced mutton meat is oiled and fried into crispy, palm-sized patties known as chaaps.

Shinda Meat Corner has been around for decades is a true example of Amritsar street food- but don’t expect a seating area or perfect hygiene. The taste though? Worth every green chutney-dipped bite.

Price : 80 rupees per chaap

Brijwasi Chaat Bhander

dahi bhalla at Brijwasi chat amritsar street food

Like a lot of other Amritsar street food standouts, Brijwasi has been around for years, serving up creamy dishes of dahi bhalla and crunchy golgappe to generations.

Prices were great, the service good, and the food flavorful. But If I were to go again, I’d recommend ordering the aloo tikki burger instead. Nevertheless, it’s still a great place to eat in Amritsar.

 Best Amritsar Food for Dinner

Stuffed yet? The answer is most definitely yes- but that doesn’t mean there’s not more to be eaten! These dinner joints serve up some of the best Amritsar food in the way of very tasty meats.

By this time, I was definitely wishing I could rent another stomach! Here’s some of the best places to eat non-veg in Amritsar:

Beera Chicken House

pieces of fish amrtisar food

Beera’s is known for its chicken… but what’s really worth coming here is the fish. Soft, juicy and lemony the Amritsari Fish Tikka is a must- but the fish fry is also worth a taste (though not quite as delicious, in my humble opinion).

This famous Amritsar food spot isn’t as cheap as your average street establishment, but for some of the best fish in Amritsar, it worth the splurge.

Price : 200-350 rupees depending on your choice of meat

Adarsh Meat Shop

mutton and kulcha amritsar street food plate

Juicy, melt-in-your-mouth mutton covered or fried in a spicy gravy stew. Or, perhaps, mutton tikka- no sauce added, and joined by a pancake-like bread softer than anything else you’ll find in the city.

Basically, here’s the deal:  if you’re a non-veg, you cannot NOT go to Adarsh’s. Don’t let modest exterior fool you: this is a true meaty paradise, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any other meat hub in Amritsar that compares.

It’s no surprise it’s one of the most famous eateries in Amritsar.

Price : 200-500 for a plate

Rehri Market Amritsar Food Street

aloo tikki burger amritsar street food

Ah, the magic of food streets. Where all culinary and munchies dreams can come true. I LOVE food markets, and Rehri Market is one food street in Amritsar where you can try a bunch of true Amritsar street food delicacies all in one go.

Piping hot south Indian dosas, air-filled puris, creamy ice-cream milkshakes, and rich aloo tikki burgers can all be found rubbing elbows here. This is definitely a spot to just eat everything. I know I did.

Price : 60-100 rupees

Where to Find Famous Street Food in Amritsar for Dessert

And now to the best part of any given day: d e s s e r t. While a lassi or some form methai (aka Indian sweets) will do, why not try an Amritsar street food specialty instead?

Ram Karan Cool-Spot

popcicle amritsar street food

While Ram’s looks like an unassuming street-cart parked near the sidewalk of a main road, don’t let first impressions fool ya’.

Think massive golas (popsicles), swollen over a real wooden stick and dipped in a gluttonous amount of sugary syrup- and some of the best street food in Amritsar!

man making snowcone

This place has been around for decades, and Ganesha now runs the family business. While the local fave is the masala-spiced khala, I recommend the lychee- or better yet, why don’t you try both?

Price: 40-60 rupees

Where to stay in Amritsar

As the home of the Golden Temple, Amritsar isn’t lacking in accommodation, but good value spots might be hard to gauge from booking sites.

After spending nearly a week there, I overwhelmingly recommend the Asha Guest House , which is definitely the best guesthouse in the city and in walking distance to the best street food of Amritsar.

Heading to Amritsar, India? here's a guide to the best street food guide in Amritsar- including where and what to eat in Amritsar, as well as where to stay in Amritsar. #Amritsar #India #Indiatraveltips #Indianfood

Asha’s is a 5-minute walk from the temple, central to most of the food spots, and is unbelievably backpacker-friendly at just 310 rupees a night- private bathroom included!

Map of Amritsar Street Food

Even though we gained more than a few pounds in Amritsar, there’s no doubt dozens of more lip-smacking Amritsar street food spots to be enjoyed- I love a good recommendation so definitely pop in the comments if you have one!

I can’t remember the guide’s name now, but she was fantastic—lots of personality, extremely knowledgeable, and knew so many people at the Temple. We got to see so much too—behind the scenes at the food kitchen, inside the Golden Temple itself, tea at the food kitchen. It was a magical experience in the dark hours of the morning. Amritsar Street Food Trail

Amritsar, the second biggest city in the northern Indian state of Punjab, is the seat of one of Sikhism’s most revered sites, the “Golden Temple” —Gurudwara Harmandir Singh.

Known locally as Ambarsar, this legendary city is famous for its Punjabi heritage, Sikh history, the legacy of the Indian partition, folk music, dances, festivals, and most importantly its lip-smacking Punjabi food.

Our exclusive and private Amritsar Street Food Trail introduces you to a delectable world of gastronomic delights of the city along with an educational overview of the city’s history.

Highlights of the Tour

  • Kulcha at the famous Kulcha eatery Kulwant Singh
  • Mouthwatering Jalebi at Gurdass Ram
  • Historical overview of Amritsar
  • Street Food at Telephone Exchange
  • Dhaba Food at Kesar

What’s Included

  • Transportation
  • Food and Refreshments
  • Parking and toll

This 3-4 hour long tour that spans around a 2-kilometer radius at the city center takes you to some of Amritsar’s beloved eateries, food stalls, and restaurants.

You’ll sample 7-8 local foods, desserts, and sweetmeats. You’ll also get a run-down of the process of how these dishes are made and the ingredients that are used to work the magic behind them. You’ll also get an exclusive behind-the-scenes peak at a traditional eatery kitchen.

Here are some of the city’s most iconic foods you’ll enjoy:

Amritsari Kulcha — a leavened flatbread, the dough of which is made out of all-purpose flour, yogurt, baking soda, and a little bit of sugar. The most legendary kulcha shop in the city is Kulwant Singh opposite the Golden Temple. It is often served with Chole (spice chickpeas), Lassi (yogurt drink), or a carbonated drink.

Jalebi —a Jalebi is a red-colored pretzel-like sweet dish made out of deep-friend Maida (wheat flour) batter, soaked in a sugar syrup. It is enjoyed all over north India but Amritsar is particularly famous for its Jalebi. Best Jalebi place in Amritsar: Gurdass Ram.

Makhan ki Rori and Sarsaon Ka Saag ( Buttered Cornbread Roti/flatbread and mustard green curry). The pride of Punjab, often served with Lassi (yogurt-drink).

Lassi— Punjab’s favorite drink made out of yogurt, sugar, and cardamon. You can choose between a salty flavor and a sugary flavor.

Amritsari Fish —deep-fried fish marinated with spice and gram flour (besan).

Phirni — creamy rice pudding.

The Best Street Food in Amritsar, India

Amritsar Street Food Tour: 6 Dishes to Try in Amritsar

Eating street food in India is an incredible experience but it can also be a daunting one. Amritsar was our first stop on our three week long India itinerary. It was an entirely chaotic, overwhelming and immersive way to begin to get to the know the vast country. In amongst the heat and hassle of the Punjabi city is a wealth of delicious street food. Follow this guide for a DIY street food tour of Amritsar!

Some tips for eating street food in India

  • Go where the locals go; if it’s busy then that’s a good sign
  • Take and regularly use anti-bacterial hand sanitiser
  • Drink your own bottled or filtered water everywhere. A Life Straw is a good eco approach.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Locals love to chat and they generally love tourists. Ask them what their favourite is or to show you how to eat it.
  • Eat with your hands (so have a cloth or some tissues in your bag!)
  • Follow the ‘peel it or cook it’ rule
See my 3 week India travel route here!

Kulcha at Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulcha Wala Amritsar food

Amritsar Street Food: 6 Must Try Dishes

Note: portions are often large so I’d recommend just ordering one of everything and sharing between a few people! Leaving food can often be seen as rude in India (but don’t finish it all too heartily or they’ll try and bring you more; it’s a catch 22!)

Kulcha at Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulcha Wala

Kulcha is a popular Punjabi breakfast and the best in the world is said to be found amongst Amritsar street food vendors. It’s a type of leavened bread often served with different curds or Amritsari chole. This particular shop is decades old and is only a short walk from the Golden Temple; visit for breakfast.

Jalebi at Gurdasram Jalebi Wala

Jalebi is my favourite Indian sweet treat. It’s sort of like thin, crispy fried doughnut dough coated in sugar syrup. Yum! It’s incredibly sugary and sticky to eat. I absolutely loved this little hole in the wall style shop where you could watch the man make it in front of you.

Paneer Bhurji at Tara Chand

Paneer bhurji is essentially scrambled paneer cheese mixed with spices and served with slices of white bread and fried onions. It’s incredibly filling and will satisfy all your carb-hungry desires! Portions are huge so visit this Amritsar street food vendor with an empty stomach.

130Rs (£1.33)

Drink Lassi at Gian Di Lassi

Lassi is a much renowned Indian drink. It’s made from yogurt and butter and comes in salty and sweet flavours. Gian Di Lassi has been operating since 1921. You can watch them churning and filtering the lassi out the back which is really impressive! I’d recommend just going for a small until you know you like it. The real deal is quite different from that served in bottles in supermarkets in Europe or at Indian restaurants in the UK, so bare that in mind!

25Rs (25p) for a half, 40Rs (40p) for a full cup

Lassi at Gian Di Lassi Amritsar Punjab India

Golgappe (Pani Puri) from one of the carts

It’s hard to pin point an exact vendor because they all move around however if you’re doing an Amritsar street food tour you won’t miss them! Golgappe is a thin wafer like cracker filled with spicy, herbaceous water. Gosh, it’s hard to describe. You eat it in one bite and will probably dribble it down your chin, which is fine. Go to any of the vendors, they’ll show you what to do!

Chai at Sharma Tea Chai Stall

Drink real Indian chai at this heritage chai stall. One of the last remaining (supposedly!) that uses real coal to cook this cardamom spiced hot milk drink. Chai is an absolute staple in Indian culture. It’s a lot more bitter than you might have experienced if you’ve tried it in the west. Pull up a little seat and enjoy a mug or grab a to go in a terracotta cup. You smash it when you’re done for sanitation purposes: so nobody uses the same cup!

Chai at Sharma Tea Chai Stall

If you manage it all in one morning like us then you definitely need to reward yourself with a long nap and a very stretchy waistband!

Although you could DIY your way round, we used Incredible Amritsar . Our guide, Sajan, was  brilliant at explaining the heritage as well as leading us through the busy streets! It cost 300Rs (£3.07) per person on top of the above prices paid to the vendors. Don’t forget to tip your guide too!

WOW! Really great guide, and it’s well-written. You are a really great photographer. I love all these beautiful photographs. I remember, the last time I have been to Amritsar, to seek blessings from the Golden temple. It was a great experience. Seems like, you have fun too, with lots of mouth-watering food. Thanks for sharing your experience. Looking forward to reading more of these 🙂

  • A Walk To The Heritage City
  • Jallianwala Bagh
  • Partition Museum
  • Wagah Border
  • Evening Street Food Walk
  • Golden Temple

Langar Hall

  • A Visit To Real Village of Punjab
  • Ram Bagh Palace
  • Shopping in Local Bazaars

To know the city properly, let’s start with exploring the Heritage of that city which would give us a sneak-peak to the actual cultures and traditions related to its people and the city itself.

A Walk To The Heritage City – Morning 7 am to 9 am

Heritage bicycle tour stop at the Partition Museum

Start your day with some exercise with the Heritage Tour on a bicycle at 7 am. Take a Bicycle and tour the narrow lanes of the old city to witness a glimpse of the age-old markets, temples, Gurudwaras, and gates with a sneak peek into the age-old buildings. The city echoes its heroic and elegant past during the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the tragedy of Partition of 1947 and then the Sikh massacre of 1984 in its every alley. The true stories can be heard from the local city vendors who have actually witnessed all this and can also share their experiences. The knowledge over the research about our history and the importance of places will also be shared by our expert guides who will be there with you all the time. A 2 hours tour to the Heritage city will be concluded by tempting “ Aloo Kulchas ” in the breakfast along with the much loved authentic and traditional drink of the city – “ Lassi” at one of the finest kulcha places to give you the authentic flavor of Punjab.

Jallianwala Bagh – 9 am to 11 am

A place that describes the famous Amritsar massacre

Another memorial of national importance can be visited here where the Amritsar massacre took place after the orders of acting Brigadier of 1919 – General Reginald Dyer – to the troops of the British Indian Army to fire a crowd of unarmed civilians on the day of Baisakhi 13th April 1919. It is not certain how many died in the bloodbath, but, according to one official report, an estimated 379 people were killed, and about 1,200 more were wounded. This 7-acres of historical garden depicts the predicament of all those people and houses a museum, gallery and a number of memorial structures. The Jallianwala Bagh site in Amritsar is now a national monument. We can have a session of approx. an hour here amidst the greenery of the park and then a team leader would probably make us familiar about the place and its importance by taking us through the pictures of our leaders and the people who sacrificed their lives thereat.

Amritsar Heritage Bicycle Tour

Partition Museum – 11 am – 1 pm

Then we can probably move on to the near-by place to know about the events of the past. One of the biggest events that happened in the history of not only Punjab but the whole of India was the Partition of India and Pakistan.

Our Team navigating through the Partition Museum

Organized in chronological order of events that took place during India’s partition, it is a museum that depicts the gestures, emotions, and the plight of people during that phase. People were forced to migrate from one place to another. Being the largest mass migration in history, apart from losing their wealth and homes, many lost their families and separated from them. So the World’s first memorial in remembrance of all those families was constructed at Town Hall in Amritsar and is open for public viewing. Since then, it continues to build its collections and archives and welcomes support in its continued quest to document and remember the history of the millions impacted at the time of the Partition.

Wagah Bus Tour – 1:30 pm onwards

To make the most of our visit to the city, we would then probably take a bus ride to reach Wagah Border with the Hop On Hop Off Buses from the Heritage Street of Golden Temple.

Wagah Border flag waving through the crowd

Experiencing the valor of India’s First Line of Defence, the open border between India and Pakistan which is an avid example of patriotism combined with entertainment. Every day of the year, just before sunset, a flag-lowering ceremony takes place there as the border is closed for the day. The spectators shout the Slogans of Jai Hind during the ceremony. The ceremony aims to evoke patriotic fervor among the crowd. Some Indians wave the Tricolour, while others dance to Bollywood songs that blare through speakers. This side trip from Amritsar in Punjab has always been a favorite tourist attraction be it National or global. On the way to Wagah Border, you can have a view of the most amazing sites of Amritsar that make the way more interesting and fun-filled.

Amritsar Wagah Border Tour

Amritsar Street Food – 7 pm onwards

Amritsar Street Food Walking Tour

Considering that you will be brought back to the same position from where you started, we can catch up at 7 pm again to enjoy the Amritsar Street Food Walking Tour. Considered as the Culinary Capital of Punjab, the city has various aromatic, authentic and traditional food items that have its peculiar taste. Enjoy some evening snacks at our generations-old street vendors and dhabas, who present some never-to-be-missed things.” When in Punjab, Eat as a Punjabi do”. Enjoy this food to your heart’s content to know about the intrinsic flavor of the land.

This way we can end our trip for Day-1, with some relaxation in our respective stays to meet again with fresh enthusiasm the next morning.

A Visit To The Real Village Of Punjab

Village visit by our guests

Then we can move ahead to explore the real village of Punjab, where we will further be familiar with the rich culture and tradition of the village life. If you are in Amritsar, a city which is probably called the Heart of Punjab, and you have not tasted the rich and age-old heritage of the land, you would probably miss out on something. These old customs and traditions are well observed in the older areas of a city. So for this, we can visit a real village where we can surround ourselves amidst greenery and fresh atmosphere. Next, we can take up certain activities like roti making, observe the farming and other village activities . Collectively, we can take part in the traditional folk dances of Punjab like Gidha and Bhangra wearing a Punjabi attire. This will be a nice idea to mingle in the culture of the land and rejuvenate your spirits at the same time.

Amritsar Village Tour

Ram Bagh Palace – 2 pm onwards

Used as the summer palace by Ranjit Singh, the founder of Sikh religion, the palace is situated in the center of a garden popularly known as Ram Bagh. The palace was constructed with a deep interest in Maharaja to develop and beautify various areas of the city under his rule. Being the central hub of spiritual and cultural activities of the Sikh Empire, the Holy City was frequently visited by Maharaja on the occasion of Vaisakhi, Vijayadashami, and Diwali, etc. Therefore, he made a beautiful garden on the Mughal pattern of Shalimar Gardens in Lahore.

company bagh Amritsar

After the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, to protect the buildings and monuments, the state Government of Punjab has declared the whole complex as ‘protected’ area to be maintained as one of the ancient and historic places. So witness this age-old heritage and to experience the times of the past, we can have a glimpse of the place.

Amritsar Bazaar Tour – 5 pm onwards

To further explore the famous Bazaars – Markets – of Amritsar , we can assemble at the Partition Museum to take a guided tour to the old and famous bazaars of Amritsar. From here we can collect some of the things to take back with us as the rich souvenirs of the land. These could include exquisite jewelry, clothes, utensils, and spices that brings a unique taste to the dishes.

Amritsar Bazaar

Before ending the tour on Day 2 , you may once again visit Golden Temple during night time to enjoy the Closing Ceremony of Holy Book and once again fill your mind and soul with the divinity of His blessings. Or else you may proceed towards your resting place and can jot down the things you liked the most about the city.

Amritsar Bazaar Tour

These are the best-seen places of Amritsar. On the way, you’ll get to see certain historic mansions, traditional trades and crafts, and captivating architecture with intricately carved wooden facades. This way we can make the best of our visit to this land of Golden Temple.
